you all ever noticed how the only time most people even acknowledge that intersex people exist is when they can use it to erase a trans identity?
Like I brought up the portrayal of Sylvia in the konosuba movie. And I was immediately met with how she totally wasn't meant to be trans, but if anything she was intersex(which is markedly untrue because she is word for word called a trans woman in the LN)
But gee, I sure wonder what we're supposed to interpret the woman with a penis as. Couldn't possibly be a nod to real life people who live like this. So yea sure pick the group of people you have decided is so rare that they practically don't exist to ignore trans people.
And like, how is it supposed to be less bigoted that an intersex character is treated like dirt for not adhering to societal standards about gender than when it's a trans person?
Obviously the people here used the word hermaphrodite. So just, fuck these people.
Also besides the point. But for all intents and purposes(despite my qualms with it) intersex and trans are interchangable in most media, both due to both groups facing very similar struggles(also a fairly large overlab) but most writers don't know the fucking difference.
It's just fucking gross when people only ever acknowledge intersex people as a gotcha, instead of the historically mistreated and dehumanised group that we are.
Like we're still constantly targetted by eugenicists, without any pushback most of the time.

Trans and intersex people in the UK need you to be loud and angry about the new "deception as to sex" guidance released which makes trans and intersex people legally guilty of rape if we don't disclose our gender identity and/or the sex we were assigned at birth to sexual partners.
This is particularly going to harm trans and intersex sex workers, who often have a higher number of sexual partners who we might keep our trans or intersex identity from for our safety.
"To summarize this guidance in the simplest terms, it treats a trans or intersex person not disclosing their gender identity and/or the sex they were assigned at birth as a form of deception which negates consent."
"This interpretation of part of the existing Sexual Offences Act (2003) places an unreasonable burden on trans and intersex people to inform our sexual partners of our medical history, while no such burden is placed on cis perisex people who are allowed to rely on assumption."

The great thing about being off antidepressants is that I can jork it much easier. And happiness feels more intense. However, unfortunately, so does the reason I was on antidepressants feel more intense. But WhatEver

during the first covid lockdowns in 2020 my autistic meltdowns got really really bad, they’ve happened my whole life, but some of them would last almost all day over what seemed like inconsequential stuff and I started getting destructive in them. Eventually my parents put me in therapy, which, fair enough, but it was cbt and my therapist decided that my issue was that I was too much of a perfectionist. I got a cbt perfectionism workbook for teens and everything. This didn’t help of course, because the issue was undiagnosed autism and it just made me feel worse because I wasn’t able to stop having these meltdowns and what my therapist was telling me should help wasn’t, but I also have alexithymia and a hard time reading myself, so I just took what she was telling me at face value. A few months later I got really really depressed, and my mom took me in to see our family doctor about it. She also mentioned my meltdowns, and I kid you not, his first response to that was to ask if I’d been screened for autism. A family doctor, who I saw only a few times a year, was the first to suggest that I could have autism, as opposed to the therapist I had been seeing biweekly for months to try to manage my meltdowns without success. So I got tested for autism and also adhd at the same time and yeah. Turns out I am autistic and have adhd. And the therapist who’d been providing cbt for me for months for a textbook trait of autism just… never brought it up.
And I say therapist because I was doing therapy with her but she was a full psychologist. I feel like at least she should’ve picked up on the meltdowns maybe indicating autism and looked at my other autistic traits during our sessions (which were there, btw) before suggesting autism. But she didn’t, and it took months of ineffective therapy that I was beating myself up over for an entirely different person who saw me for a relatively different thing to suggest what actually ended up being the cause.
I’m still mad about that almost 5 years later, by the way.

Disney banned an episode of Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur called "The Gatekeeper," because of the current political climate in the US. So the episode is about Lunella's friend Brooklyn being targeted by the coach of a rival volleyball team, Greer, who found out she was trans and tried to stop her from playing. She even goes as far as to trap Brooklyn, Lunella and the others in the locker room, and will only let them out if they follow her "rules."
Brooklyn: "I'm trans, my very existence breaks Greer's rules, which means, as long as I'm a member of this team...we'll never escape..."
And they break out of the room specifically by breaking the rules. There's also an awesome video game-like scene where the team fights a monster-like version of Greer by throwing volleyballs at her, with streaks colored like the trans flag.
Brooklyn: "It doesn't matter how many doors people like you slam in my face. With my fight, plus my crew backing me up, I'm always gonna find my way out."
This episode is EXACTLY what trans kids need right now, but no, Disney was too spineless to air the episode. They can claim for the 69420th time that XYZ is their first gay character, they can sell rainbow Mickey Mouse pins, they can put up pride month collections on Disney+, but it's clear that they only "support" the LGBTQ+ community when it's profitable for them.

As I grow older I feel my capacity to understand that Miss Piggy is not a real person reached a peak in my adolescence and is now on a steady decline. I watched a Wendy Williams interview and there's this part that's like "can we get a ring cam!" and Miss Piggy shows her bling and I'm just like fuck she's so iconic. Miss Piggy who are you wearing? Miss Piggy have you ever considered running for office??

i think it's cute when americans talk about being from the 'great state of connecticut' or like 'the great state of wisconsin.' not when it's texas or new york or california obviously because then there's the fear that they're being serious. but when americans adopt that really earnest tone and are like 'god bless the great state of delaware' in response to a picture of a seagull swallowing an entire ziplock bag full of cheese-its. I think that's very endearing
