Hyenas And The Frozen Heir
[Oneshot. Unedited and short. I have no intention of continuing this. However, anyone is free to pick up where I left off. Have fun!]
—
Dash’s hands were shaking. Sticky green blood was being smeared all across his steering wheel, but he couldn’t bring himself to care. Dried tears were making his skin feel tight, and fresh ones made the world blurry.
Dash allowed himself a quick peek at his boyfriend. Danny was now passed out in the back seat, wrapped in a little nest of football jerseys and cheap truck-stop blankets to keep him warm. To hide the bandages. The blond choked back another sob. They’d been on the road for almost nine hours, and Danny had been bleeding the entire time. Dash had to make more than one pit stop to frantically shove Danny’s organs back into place because he couldn’t sew properly to save his life. The inside of his car looked like something out of a horror scene. Acidic ectoplasm was slowly eating through his car seats. A pile of used, glowing bandages was stuffed under the passenger seat, and after the fourth or fifth stop, Dash just stopped trying to clean himself up altogether.
A slight murmur brought Dash out of his spiraling thoughts. Danny shifted, knocking off Dash’s letterman jacket, which was beyond ruined now. Quietly, Dash slowed and guided the car onto the right shoulder of the empty highway, blearily reaching over to turn off the headlights. Better to make passing cars think he was a driver taking a nap rather than someone needing help.
But we do need help, a rational part of his brain whispered. We can’t do this alone.
Shut up. He whispered back.
Dash twisted in his seat to face Danny, reaching to cup the halfa’s cheek. “Hey, blueberry. How are you holdin’ up?”
Danny lolled his head, eyes unseeing momentarily before focusing on Dash. “ ‘s okay.” He mumbled. “Where are we?”
“Uh,” Dash glanced back to the mess of paper maps that had taken over his passenger seat, just as stained as everything else in the car. “A few hours away from New Jersey. We’re almost there, I promise.”
“Wha’s in New ‘ersey?” Danny slurred. This wasn’t good. This was the fourth time Danny had asked this. Was he losing too much blood? Dash checked, but the bleeding was slow, and the bandages weren’t soaked yet. But Danny’s skin looked paler than usual. Dash couldn’t feed him water or food until he was stitched up correctly. They needed to get some fresh ectoplasm in him. Ectoplasm Dash did not have.
Calmly, in case Danny would pick up on his fear, Dash said, “My auntie lives there, remember? She and her girlfriend are scary smart. They’ll help us.”
“Mmmm.” Danny’s eyes drooped again. His glow was almost gone. Dash tucked his letterman jacket back around Danny’s shoulders and settled back in for more driving. It was the only thing he could do right now.
—
As soon as Dash passed the sign that said Welcome to Gotham! he couldn’t help but hold his breath. He’d been here a hundred times, taking long vacations during summer break to come over and relax in the chaos his aunt created. Gotham was a wonderful place. Even more so ever since he learned about the existence of ghosts. The city's spirits always had exciting stories to tell him or knew about fun things to do. But he’d also seen the dark side of Gotham. It would be their luck if they got caught up in a night-time warehouse raid or rouge attack.
But despite Dash’s worries, nothing happened to them as they navigated the streets he’d memorized long ago. A broken streetlamp dropped sparks onto the hood of his car as Dash parked next to the curb in front of his aunt’s place. Hidden deep within the city and squashed between buildings, Dash could only stare at the climbing plants that was definitely not there the last time he visited. Guess Aunt Harley’s girlfriend moved in sooner than he thought.
Danny shifted in his sleep, and Dash glanced at him, biting his lip. From his aunt's stories, there was a good chance those plants were alive in more ways than one. It’d be stupid to carry Danny up there if they attacked him. But he didn’t want to leave Danny alone in the car, no matter how close the front door was. Making a quick decision, Dash hopped out of the car and opened Danny’s door, gently shaking him awake.
“Mmph,” Danny grumbled.
“Time to wake up, blueberry. We’re here.”
That seemed to wake Danny up. He straightened up as much as possible, clutching the pile of blankets to his chest as his eyes snapped open. Dash pressed a gentle kiss to his forehead, trying to calm him.
“Listen,” Dash began. “I need to go up and knock on the door. But my aunt’s girlfriend moved in, and carnivorous plants surround the house, so I’m going to leave you here to watch the car, okay?”
Danny clutched onto Dash’s t-shirt, frightened by the mere thought of him leaving. “No, please don’t.” He whimpered.
Dash’s heart hurt. He closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. “I have to, Danny.” He croaked out. “My aunt can help, but I have to go wake them up. I’ll be less than fifty feet away and leave you with the Fenton Blaster, okay? Look,” he pointed past Danny’s shoulder. “You can see the door from here. I’ll be right back, I promise.”
Tears rolled down Danny’s cheeks, but he reluctantly let go. Dash gave him one last gentle kiss before closing the car door. Danny’s glowing eyes followed his every move as he approached the door. His only weapon was the Fenton Anti-Creep Stick that Jazz had gotten him for his birthday.
Dash tapped the stick against his thighs, a nervous habit. Something moved in the shadows. Dash whipped around just in time to dodge a strike from a rosebush. The roses gnashed their teeth, snapping at his exposed skin. Dash beat off every flower with quick, decisive strikes, trying to stun but not destroy. He practically danced in a circle to avoid the whole bush. Roots tried to wrap around his ankle, but he stomped on them with his heavy boots, causing the entire plant to flinch. Moss was spreading up his legs, and a bunch of English ivy was trying to tether him. Dash didn’t blink and instead gently unwrapped the ivy and scooped off the moss before it got past his hips. He was only a few feet away from the front door now. A rose bit his shoulder, making Dash wince before prying it off, barely bruising a petal. If he could only-
“Dash!” His aunt threw open the front door, beating him to it.
“Auntie!” Dash visibly brightened at the crazed appearance of his aunt, who had a pink bathrobe barely tied on and slippers in the shape of sheep heads adorning her feet. “Sorry, you’ll have to wait for your hug; I’m a little tied up.” He cracked a smile he didn’t really feel and gestured to the ivy, trying to strangle him.
Aunt Harley cackled like that was the funniest joke she’d heard all year, dramatically wiping away a fake tear. “Oh, ya never cease to amuse me, honeypot. It’s okay, Ivy! It’s just my nephew.”
“The one in high school?” A green-skinned, red-haired woman appeared at the door, sneaking her arms around Harley’s waist. She examined Dash critically, noticing his gentle attempts to dissuade her plants from eating him alive. He must have passed some sort of test because the plants suddenly froze and retreated after a moment. Dash sighed.
“Thank you,” he said to the woman, presumably the famous Poison Ivy. “I’m not used to fighting delicate plants.” She raised an eyebrow but said nothing more.
Aunt Harley bounded down the steps, practically flying towards Dash for her mandatory bear hug. He indulged her, scooping the tiny woman into his arms, and swung her around, prompting her to laugh. “It’s good to see ya, honeypot!” She giggled after he finally set her down. “Did ya bring Pookie with ya? Bud and Lou have been dying to see him again. And why are ya covered in green stuff?”
Dash stepped back, frowning. “About that,” he said. Harley instantly got serious, sensing the severity of the situation. “Can you help us?”
“Us?” Ivy asked, descending the steps. “Who’s ‘us’?”
The teen gestured towards his car, still safely parked on the street, where Danny’s glowing eyes could still be seen, boring into the two strangers with blatant hostility. “My boyfriend got vivisected.” Dash began. “And the organization that did it still has his family.”
—
“Jesus fuck kiddo, you’re more messed up than Batsy after a night-in with Selina,” Harley commented, poking one of his intestines with a gloved finger. Danny giggled hoarsely.
“That tickles!” he complained but leaned back into his boyfriend's arms, riding the high of the most potent painkillers Ivy could cook up. They wouldn’t last long, so Dash let the more experienced adults patch up his boyfriend. With strict supervision, of course.
“Are you aware you’re missing a lung?” Ivy glanced up at Danny, a little alarmed.
“Is that why it’s hard to breathe?” He giggled again.
Dash kissed the top of his head. “Blueberry, you don’t need to breathe,” he reminded Danny. “Why don’t you stop for a bit so Ivy can count your organs?”
“Okaaay,” Danny sang and did just that. Both adults froze momentarily, staring at the two as Danny continued to wiggle and whisper to himself, seemingly still alive, despite his heart not beating. Finally, Dash coughed, and they snapped out of it.
“Ahem,” Ivy coughed. “Anyways. From what I can tell, Danny is missing one lung, both kidneys, half his liver, and about a third of his esophagus. How are you alive right now, kid?”
“He’s not,” Dash answered. Ivy flinched in surprise.
“What?”
“He’s not alive. Not completely. Danny’s a halfa; half-ghost, and half-human. That’s the only reason he’s survived this far.”
“Okay, that seems like a shit show we’ll discuss later.” Dash could tell she would be rubbing her forehead from frustration if Ivy's hands weren't covered in ectoplasm. “Let’s just focus on stitching him up for now.”
“Hey, what’s this glowing thing next to his heart?” Aunt Harley asked, moving to poke it.
“DON’T TOUCH IT!” Danny flinched at the sudden volume change in Dash’s voice. “It’s his core. Don’t touch it.”
Harley put her hands up in surrender. “I won’t! I won’t! Jeez, I was just askin’...”
“Just hand me the scissors, Harley.” Ivy sighed. Harley did so, and Dash leaned back, staring at the ceiling. Danny was playing with his fingers, so out of it he barely noticed the needle plunging in and out of his skin, slowly hiding his ribs from view once more. Dash was glad he wasn’t freaking out. He was glad that Dr. Isely lived up to her name and could manufacture a painkiller so strong it would land her on another bio-terrorism list all on its own. He was glad his aunt had been home rather than out making a ruckus at two in the morning like she usually did. Dash was glad for many things but dreaded what was coming.
There were so many things to do. The GIW was surely alerted by now that Dash had left his classes in a panic and probably sent out search parties when he didn’t show up for curfew. They’d know he was with Danny. Dash wasn’t stupid. He knew at least one person in his “friend” group would willingly rat him out if something was in it for them. He was sure it wouldn’t be Paulina, Star, or Kwan, but he wouldn’t take that chance. He couldn’t count on them for help. Danny’s friends, Sam and Tucker, would probably force their way into the situation as soon as possible, so Dash needed to lay the groundwork for whatever he would do before Tucker tracked him down. He needed a clear plan before he faced those nerds. And what about Valerie? Or Vlad? Or any of the ghosts?
No, Dash thought, dismissing that idea immediately. They’d just get captured, too. I’m the least liminal out of everyone, I have the best chance for a surprise attack. Including anyone else from Amity will spell disaster. Besides, I shut down the portal. If Vlad is smart, he’ll shut his down too. It’ll take a while for the ghosts to figure things out.
“Whatcha thinkin’ about, honeypot?” Aunt Harley laid a hand gently on his shoulder, shaking Dash from his thoughts. God, he didn’t realize how tired he was. Danny had been put back together in no time, like a morbid puzzle piece he couldn’t solve. Now the halfa was dozing again, snuggled into Dash’s chest, each hand lazily petting the two hyenas that had snuck up and demanded pets.
Dash sighed, feeling like the world was on his shoulders. “I don’t know what to do,” he confessed, a little choked up. “Danny’s family are still out there, being tortured. I can’t call anyone in Amity; too many people would be in danger. What should I do, Auntie? They’re still human. They won’t survive the GIW’s experiments. But I don’t know where to start tracking them down. And what happens when I do find them? Just storm in there? I can’t…” Dash trailed off at the soft look on his aunt’s face.
“We’ll help you,” Harley said firmly, her accent changing to be more serious. “I promise, Dash, we’ll help you find them. We may not be supervillains anymore, but Ivy and I still have quite the influence in underground circles. We can even include Batsy and his brood if we need to. Again, I promise we’ll save everyone.”
Dash blinked back tears. Danny sneezed, causing the two hyenas to jump up and lick his face. Danny laughed, trying to fight them off but too exhausted to put effort into it. Frost covered Dash and the couch he was sitting on in a fine layer of cold, making him pull Danny closer. He kissed Danny’s hair, slowly lulling him back to sleep. Danny obliged, his form flickering back and forth between his ghost form and his human one. Both states were battered and sported thick bandages that hid his stitches. Finally, Danny seemed to settle on a strange mix of both. His form seemed more human, but the frost had permanently settled along his limbs and face, making him shimmer, and a flaming crown floated gently above his head. The green glow it gave off made Danny feel better, so Dash didn’t touch it. White was creeping through his white hair, and his skin still had a deathly tint. Danny looked healthier than he did an hour ago just by being in Gotham. It gave Dash hope.
“Thank you, Aunt Harley. I hope you mean it.”

Dash was sitting in class when he got sent a text message from one Daniel Fenton. 715xx. The exact date of when him and Danny had started dating, and the emergency code that meant someone had found out about him being phantom, and he needed and immediate evac. Dash grabbed his phone and keys and ran out of class, Mr.Lancer and his friends yelling at him to come back, but they didn’t know what was going on, they didn’t understand.
Dash runs into Danny’s house and sees a glowing green strain of blood streaked down the hallway towards the basement. Dash runs over and throws the door open, practically jumping down the stairs with a yell of his boyfriends name on his mouth when he stopped dead in his tracks. In front of him was Phantom, leaned against a wall with glazed eyes, a large Y scar carved in his chest- but no other Fenton anywhere to be found.
Dash raced over and kneeled down, placing kisses all over his boyfriends face, telling him everything will be okay, he’s got you Danny, you’re safe now. Dash hastily wiped away his tears and shakily grabbed the needle with glowing green thread and sloppily sewing up Danny with one hand, the other tucking Danny’s head to his shoulder, not caring about the dead silent crying, though dash’s wasn’t nearly as silent. Dash finished and tried to ask about the Other Fentons- if they did this to him- but all Danny could do was shake his head no. Danny used the smeared blood on his fingers to write out “G i W” on the floor. Dash quietly asked if his boyfriends parents were working with them. A head shake… if, if his parents were trapped too? A slow nod.
Okay, okay dash can work with this. He’s worked with worse, like when he bruised his rib during the playoffs and still played anyways because he needed that scholarship. He can do this. Dash took a deep breath and slid his hands under Danny’s legs and his back, tucking his head to his chest again and letting Danny listen to his heart.. He used the emergency lockdown code Danny gave him for the portal and ran back up the stairs, sliding his now unconscious boyfriend into the passenger seat and sitting in the driver side. He took a deep breath and started the car. The one place he knows he can hide from with practiced ease, with absolute confidence of safety and security, his aunt Harley’s down in Gotham.

Fanfic idea Danny Phantom/Jason Todd
Danny escapes from the GIW and ends up in Gotham with little more than energy, he needs ectoplasm but can't process what's in the environment because he's too weak.
Jason argues with the bats over a death he didn't cause and encounters a small deformed shadow that radiates nothing but Pain-Help-I'm Afraid and against every training he's had throughout his 19 years he takes the creature. willing to give you the energy you need
Danny doesn't know who this stranger is, who feels more than liminal but less than ghost, who took him tenderly and without hesitation in feeding him, even though he himself was hungry and worn out. I'm sorry-I don't want to hurt you-I'm sorry
-It's fine, honey, take what you need.
Every part of him that should explode in attack-flight screamed to take the little thing and hide it from the world, feed it, care for it and defend it, he didn't know who or what it was, but he was willing to give every bit of his soul for the little tenant. from the alley.
One Monday Red Hood was seen entering an alley in Crime Alley and then what could have been hours later a man came out running who couldn't have been older than 25, with black and white hair, worn clothes and hugging a small ball, which could well be made of fire, as if it were the most precious thing in the world.

Ok so this is based on @cyrwrites prompt of Danny being Willis Todd. A very delicious angsty prompt btw. Especially @faeriekit additions. Chef's kiss. Anyway, that got my little gears turning and I thought up an alt version. What if Danny was Jason's grandpa?
Hear me out: Despite all the hardships of losing his family and identity, Danny still manages to get a wife and settle down. Then the GIW tracks him down again and while he's in the ghost zone taking care of a few things, they break into his house and kidnap his wife.
Danny goes ballistic and decimates all of their bases trying to find her but by the time he does, it's too late. She dies in his arms and there isn't enough ambient ectoplasm for her to become a ghost. This is the last straw for Danny and he retreats to the Infinite Realms, sealing all portals and summonings (perhaps he's starting down the path of becoming Dan).
Unbeknownst to Danny, his son got dumped off in an orphanage (he thought the baby died with his wife) and is named Willis. From here Willis can either be the way that he is because his core is not getting everything it needs and that's causing physical and mental side effects or he's just an asshole with secret ghostly powers. Either way, everything from there continues down the path of Jason's story.
Flashing forward, after taking an involuntary bath in ectoplasm, Jason's proto core gets activated. He was mainly human with no ambient ectoplasm around before so his core was inactive while his body did all the work. Now that it's active however, his body is slowly but surely giving his proto core all the functions it was meant to have. The problem with this is that his proto core is too weak and can't actually sustain these functions. For example, he'll randomly stop breathing but his core can't take over properly which leads to him suffocating instead until his lungs take back over. Fun times right?
Bruce is getting increasingly desperate so when Constantine mentions the ghost king might be able to help but they would have to go to him directly, he suits up and says lead the way.
For Danny's part, when he meets these three men, he is confused for two reasons. How did they even get here? And why is the youngest one putting out a feeling of family when he should have no one left?
#dp x dc#dc x dp#dpxdc#dcxdp#next thing you know i'll ve coming up with the idea that danny is jason's great-grandfather#or even uncle#don't tempt me#seriously got check out faeriekit's additions#they're amazing#unless you're sensitive to child abuse or neglect#as well as drugs or drinking#then you should probably give this one a pass#hyper prompts

Phantom of Gotham 20
Chapter 19
Danny woke up to pain. He groaned, trying to move but found his arms and legs wouldn’t cooperate. He could feel cool metal underneath himself and panicked, eyes flying open. Much to his growing dread, he could only see pristine white walls and various lab equipment decorating the walls. Thinking back, he fought against the restraints as he recalled what happened.
Danny was on his way to the office. He was pretty nervous but this hadn’t been the first time the office needed some clarification on his (false) documents. Considering he had no legal adult to look after him or anyone the school had met, he was under some suspicion. He almost wanted to just overshadow them just to get it over and done with. But he wouldn’t. Unless there was an emergency of course.
He knocked on the office door, waiting for a muffled,”come in” before he opened it cautiously. “Hey, you called m-” Danny broke off what he was saying with a cough, suddenly finding it hard to breathe. “Wha-” He choked, looking around with suddenly blurry eyes.
Danny’s eyes widened as he caught sight of Agent K and O with the vice principal. Agent K had some sort of gas canister in one hand while O was securing the door behind Danny. “Don’t like the Blood Blossom gas, huh spooky?” Agent K laughed darkly, and Danny gasped for air.
Trying to get away, he stumbled, falling against a desk. Danny kept coughing, tasting something metallic in his mouth. He couldn’t risk transforming here, the blood blossoms would just affect him worse. He had to make it out of this in his human form, he knew. However, before he could try anything, Agent O grabbed him.
Danny struggled, but he was too weak. His limbs felt like jelly and he still couldn’t catch his breath. If he didn’t get away from that horrible gas soon he was going to pass out. He glared at Agent K, who was looking down on him with his stupid smug face. Danny was pretty sure he was gloating, but Danny couldn’t hear a word of it over the ringing in his ears. Damn he hated blood blossoms.
As Agent O cuffed him with anti-ghost cuffs, Danny could barely keep his eyes open. He cursed, finding everything around him too difficult to process through the fog in his head. If only he wasn’t so stupid. He knew he should have left Gotham. No doubt the GIW caught the power surge from the portal, and now Danny had fallen for their stupidly easy trap. Who knew they’d catch him off guard at school with blood blossom gas of all things? Danny wondered. There’s no way someone as dumb as Agent K came up with that plan. They were more adept at chasing ghosts with highly dangerous weapons and causing massive property damage. Danny would be in awe at Agent K’s stealthy plan if he wasn’t already losing consciousness.
The last thing he saw was Agent O approaching his face with some sort of device in his hands, and he slumped to the ground soundlessly.
Back at the lab, Danny was freaking out. He figured the weird device Agent O had was a muzzle, considering he had one on at the moment. Taking in his surroundings, Danny saw his limbs were restrained to the metal table and he was still in his school clothes, minus the jacket. He fought the urge to cough, still feeling some effects of the blossoms. He didn’t even want to know how the GIW had gotten their hands on the rare and endangered plant, but he had a feeling his parents were somehow involved. Movement caught his eye, and Danny was surprised and panicked to see an agent in white looming ominously over some equipment in the corner.
Danny didn’t dare speak out of fear that the agent would notice he was awake and start some sort of experiment on him, not that he could with the metal muzzle strapped to him. It was digging into his jaw and bridge of his nose uncomfortably, and he didn’t want to think about how long he’d be forced to wear it. From his short time with his parents he was really dreading whatever cruel and sadistic things they were about to do to him. Had some idea of what they might do to him. It was still nerve-wracking to wait strapped to a table and run through all the possible things they could do to him in his head. He shuddered.
Hopefully the bats would at least notice he was missing. Danny sighed, wishing he’d brought Tim with him to the office. Maybe then they wouldn’t have taken him, or waited til he was alone. Danny shook his head, grimacing at the headache from the lingering blood blossom gas. Again, where did the GIW get all these new gadgets, he wondered.
Ice raced down his spine a moment later when the door to the lab opened, answering his question. His body shook with barely concealed dread as two brightly colored jumpsuits entered the room. As they stepped closer, Danny continued his efforts to escape. His core pulsed with no, not again, not again, and Danny grit his teeth when his m- Maddie approached him.
Maddie pulls back her goggles to rest on top of her head and Danny can see the angry sneer on her face. “Phantom.” She greets harshly, motioning with her hand to signal Jack, who steps forward and reaches for Danny’s face.
Danny panics, trying to keep out of range of his hands but there’s nowhere for him to go. Surprisingly Jack only unlocks the muzzle and pulls it loose. Danny takes a gasping breath of air that seems to offend Maddie somehow. “Where is my son?” Maddie questions, and Danny’s heart sinks. Of course, they’re still on about that. Did they join the GIW just to hunt him down?
“You’re looking at him,”Danny spits. He tries not to think about last time he was in a lab with her. Maddie looks angrier and Danny has to clench his fists to hide how hard he’s shaking. He doesn’t want them to know he’s terrified of them.
“Don’t lie!” Maddie shouts, slamming her hand on the metal table so hard Danny can feel the vibrations and he flinches. “Stop disguising yourself as my son and change back.”
“It’s not a disguise,”Danny grits out, trying not to cough. The blood blossom gas has been wearing off, but his head still hurts and his throat is scratchy. Maddie scowls at his answer.
Danny is instantly on edge when Maddie suddenly smiles. She disappears behind Jack, who has been doing his best to ignore his son’s presence since he arrived. Danny knew Jack wouldn’t hurt him when he was in human form. Maddie on the other hand…
His mom reappeared with what looked like a silver and green metal collar. Danny eyed it cautiously as she sneered at him. “If you won’t change back willingly, we’ll be forced to make you. This collar here? It’s function is to revert a ghost back to it’s base form,”Maddie said, glaring down at him. “You say you’re my son, but as soon as I put this on you we’ll all know the truth. You’ll just be another mindless ghost.”
Danny flinched back as much as he could when she unlatched the collar with a hiss, leaning over to fix it around his neck. “Then you’ll tell me where my son is,”Maddie growled, and the collar snapped on with a click.
There was a faint hum as the collar powered on, and suddenly Danny couldn’t breathe. He felt his core take over, shoving his mind far back to protect him while bringing his ghost transformation to the surface. His pupils blew wide and Danny felt nothing but the fog covering his mind.

I wanted to figure out a likely timeline of Dan/Phantom/Whatever-his-name-is's spiral into evil, for writing him and stuff.
CONTENT WARNING: Discussion of suicide and themes of suicide starts below cut.
1. nasty patty incident
2. danny is grieving, but hopes for at least his parents to come back- after all, they had unfinished research, an obsession and thirst for knowledge. his justifications for how Sam, Tucker, and his sister would come back are flimsy, and he knows it. He can't stand the pitying looks from his former tormenters. His aunt, Alicia- not a gentle woman, but doing her best- comes out from the country to supervise him.
3. End of month 1: the funeral. Danny starts to grow more outwardly volatile, instead of directing his despair inward. He exchanges contact information with Vlad, and the two enter an uneasy truce as they enter closer contact.
4. After 6 months, he tries to tell Alicia about the half ghost thing, and she doesn't take it badly- but she admits that she doesn't know how to help with that. Danny isn't sure what he's been expecting, but it's not what he wants. He can't stand to be in Amity Park anymore, and asks Vlad and Alicia if he can move in with him. they both agree, and he moves in with Vlad.
5. month 7: Danny is miserable at this new school, in this new, empty house. He feels like a ghost here more than he ever has before. the fear and hatred he harbors towards Vlad has only amplified with the closer proximity, and the mans security measures certainly don't help. His hatred for himself grows, being too weak to save his family, too weak to tough things out in Amity while waiting for his family.
Content warnings apply below. I promise it's not All doom and gloom, but given it's Phantom... there's a lot of it.
6. Month 8: Danny decides that if his family doesn't come back, he will commit a kind of suicide, removing his ghost half, then his ghost half removing and dispatching Vlad's ghost half. He decides that 2 against 1 will be the best method, and that's where the idea of fusing with Vlad's ghost half comes in. After all, if either of them can kill their combined ghost, that'll be safer for everyone. One last "heroic" act. He just has to trick Vlad.
7. Month 10: Danny gives up, and executes on the plan. He's sick of wasting time being sad. Phantom doesn't want to die, and successfully kills Danny, and fails to kill Vlad. He doesn't realize Vlad didn't die in that explosion.
8. After the rush of revenge, Phantom feels really weird about it. It was only fair, Danny was going to kill him, but he realizes he didn't think through what it'd be like living as part Vlad. But hey- he doesn't have to juggle school, politics, or feigning humanity anymore. He can go keep an eye on his home now, and figure out how to spend his afterlife! He gets in contact with Alicia, letting her know a less... scary version of his suicide, and that he's going to be hanging around in Amity Park again. (... He still hasn't really given up on someone coming back.)
9. When he finally gets back to FentonWorks, he's furious to find his former schoolmates partying in his house, and nearly attacks them, but calms down just enough to only yell at them. He doesn't care about keeping things secret anymore, and lets the secret slip. He doesn't miss how their treatment of Phantom changes. He can almost accept this not-as-pitiful respect.
10. For the next 3 months (at 1 year 1 month post incident), he tries to protect Amity Park. He causes more property damage than before. He notes and tries to ignore his increased aggression, but after he actually injures Valerie, the only person left that he "trusts", he panics, and drops her off at the hospital. Enough is enough, and at a town hall meeting that he doesn't attend, they decide to bring in the feds to deal with the local phantom.
11. Upon FentonWorks being raided, he's furious. He's been protecting these people, and for what? This isn't fair! Phantom kills a few of the GIW, before making a declaration to the whole of town with a souped up megaphone he stole from the GIW: If they don't want his help, then he'll be what they think he is- just an another evil Phantom.
12. In the next 2 months, he causes mass chaos, but fails to cause much damage to GIW and the government. He's just one ghost, after all. He retreats into the ghost zone, and convinces Skulker to take him on as an apprentice. He does have fun hunting and fighting ghosts, after all, and it can help him hone and perfect techniques.
13. for the next 3 1/2 years (4 years 9 months post incident), Phantom almost entirely lives in the ghost zone, only traveling to the world of the living for special occasions. He's figured out how he wants to look by year 2 post incident- basically an idealized version of how he would've wanted to look as an adult. He sets out on his list of revenge, targeting ghosts and enemies that he feels have personally wronged him.
14. To graduate from his apprenticeship, he and Skulker have a hunt-off. Obviously, Phantom wins, and graduates. The hunt lasts 3 months. (5 years post incident)
15. This isn't to say Phantom had no social afterlife... with ghosts he was previously allied or friends with, he tried to keep those relationships. Wulf isn't about what he's up to, and distances himself to an acquaintance. Phantom parties with Dorathea, allies himself with Fright Knight, actually befriends Klemper for when he just needs a chill hangout, convinces Poindexter to help him in researching ghost stuff, and helps Bones babysit Youngblood, just for examples of relationships he has with canon ghosts. He's a combination of two very social and dramatic ghosts, so he's honestly kind of goofy when he's not being actively menacing.
16. He does not acknowledge the not-being-able-to-be-seen-by-adults thing that Youngblood has going on, deciding that he must be an adult at this point, and the fact that he can see Youngblood is a Fully Ghost thing. Youngblood thinks it's a bit he's doing and plays along- it is Not a fully Ghost Thing
17. He does some trial runs on attacking security companies and billionaires in the month before the next Incident Anniversary.
18. On the 5 year anniversary of the Nasty Patty Incident, Phantom launches a successful attack on the GIW, destroying their facilities. He begins razing USA government agencies and offices, because genuinely, they have been such a pain for him. He doesn't attack postal offices or bus systems. When other countries allied with the USA try to attack Phantom, he starts targeting them as well.
19. Something that... basically everyone but Phantom himself notices, is that the only average-people civilians he targets are people in Amity Park.
20. At year 6, the USA as we know it is gone- people still live there, the only places actually uninhabitable being former military bases, and a 50 mile radius around Amity Park. Phantom starts making a concerted, focused effort to attack Amity Park, starting an arms race between him and Valerie.
21. It's unnerving for Valerie to see how little he's changed, even with a shiny new coat of evil paint and an adult-ish appearance. She can't help but think it looks an awful lot like a superhero that Danny used to like.
22. At year 9, he decides that he's done all he's wanted, and that Valerie will be strong enough to kill him- so he plans one last fight with her- either he'll win, and be uncontested in strength... Or he'll lose, setting the balances of justice right once again. He's excited to see how strong she's gotten. ... Despite all he says, he hopes she'll win, and he'll get a "happy" ending, even if it isn't his.

AN: I don't like Sam. I tried to tag this accordingly.
Au where Sam took it too far.
When Danny didn't want to go into the ghost portal, wearing a hazmat suit when going into the basement and trying/failing to get Sam to wear one - Tucker wasn't there, he was helping his parents clean out the attic.
Anyway, Sam got annoyed with his hesitance, and shoved him in. The glass of his helmet broke when he hit the floor, causing it to cut his face, his hand hitting the on button and shocking him with a TON of electricity.
Sam, being a teenager and wanting to avoid trouble, rushed out of the basement as soon as the she saw the portal turn on. Danny then dragged himself out of the portal, burned and scarred, weak.. he could barely make out his parents rushing down into the basement, barely heard them screaming his name.. darkness took him.
When he woke up, he told his parents and the doctors and nurses everything. His parents, while looking at a few charges themselves, were allowed to pursue charges againt Sam and her family (who insisted that Sam did nothing wrong, who believed Sam when she - for once - told them Danny was lying).
Tucker believed Danny, moreso because of what he saw on the security camera footage. Because yeah, he wouldn't want to get in trouble, but seeing how Sam left Danny to drag himself out of the portal.. it really made him mad.
This accident was a wakeup call for Maddie and Jack. Sure, having Fenton Works as their home was more convenient, but it was dangerous. Life threatening. They almost lost Danny - he was going to have those scars and burns for a while, luckily and by a miracle he didn't lose his vision.
Maddie and Jack talked to each other as well as Jazz and Danny. Would they be okay with moving? What about if Jack and Maddie found more stable jobs?
Jazz was more hesitant about it, thinking it was a set of trick questions. Danny said he loved the idea, because now he was scared of the basement.
They sold Fenton Works to a pair of men in white suits, who seemed very interested in it. And they moved to a residence closer to Casper High. The men even offering to recommend Jack and Maddie for jobs as scientists at GIW HQ.
Maddie and Jack discuss it, and Maddie takes the offer with Jack staying home to take care of the kids. Maddie gets weekends off, paid vacations, medical care for the whole family.
Jack takes to learning cooking like a fish to water, his dishes rapidly improve. He also cleans and does other household things. Mainly because he had all that time.
Jazz is thriving. Danny is happy.
Sam isn't. Her parents now have to vet all of her friends, she's not allowed to have any contact with Danny. Her parents even get her to transfer schools, all while paying the charges to the Fenton family.

It had been 15 years. Fifteen years of recovering from the injuries sustained by the GIW, more than half the time he had lived in the mortal world, mending the crack in his core that could never truly heal while knowing that the people he loved were constantly being hurt and ended. He remembered the searing pain of the scalpel cutting through his flesh, the rawness of his throat causing his screams. He remembered the look of fear in his little sister's eyes, his daughter's eyes, as the agents, the monsters, took her for testing. He remembered her cries and how his weakness, his impotence, caused it all to happen. He was weak, and because of it, his little star almost died. Her body too unstable to sustain such injuries for so long, slowly and painfully melting away while there was nothing he could truly do.
Protection.
How pathetic. Who could he really protect? His parents? The ones who, near the end, after he told them the truth, were so sorry and hurt by the monstrosities they had said and done to their son? The ones who, after everything, still loved him enough to die, ignorable to the agents trying to capture him? His sister? Who was almost killed trying to rescue him from his cage? Or his friends, the ones who screamed about the injustice happening to his people? About the way the supposed "good guys" were treating his anguish and pain?
Protection.
He never truly understood how much it meant to him. He always thought himself above the obsessions of his people. How delusional he was. He finally understood the obsessive needs his kin had, the pain in his core with every failure, the way every scream from his little star broke him a little more, piece by piece. Truly, he was a pathetic man, whose only success was taking Ellie's core inside himself and nurturing her, even if it made him so weak he could barely think.
It was in trying to protect her, his baby, his light, his everything, that in a desperate attempt, he managed to summon Fright Night and his army to rescue him. Even surrounded by anti-ecto walls, he could do nothing. And even though his army rescued all his brethren, in his exhaustion caused by giving life again to his little star, he could do nothing to save her as the agents took her away.
And so he planned. Every day, for 15 years, he planned. He was no longer afraid of Dan, finally understanding him, understanding how he could cause so much death. Humans, after all, did not deserve their kindness; they spat on the souls of the dead, disgusted and hateful towards the peace the dead found from life. It was in this understanding that he freed Dan, and together they planned to take action. Action against the constant experiments on his kind, action against the constant ENDING of HIS PEOPLE.
So, in these 15 years, he sent force after force. A small army made it simple to rescue the people tortured by the humans and to gather information about the people protecting that wrecked place. And now, he was ready. He would protect his loved ones, he would rescue Ellie from the hell she was living, and he would exact his revenge on humanity. The humans were sure of their power, having driven away his little expedition force every time they were sent. But that ended now. Death was a kindness these people did not deserve, so he would show them how cruel and painful living could be.
The Villains Daughter
So! Years ago, back when the Justice League was only just starting out, only a year or two after their initial team-up, they had one of their biggest battles to date. A group of Extra-Dimensional Beings had burst into their reality, hellbent on destroying a Government Facility and the nearby small town in Illinois.
They barely managed to beat the Invading Army back, although the Government Facility and a part of the nearby Town had been destroyed in the battle.
Later, they would learn about what had happened. Apparently the Government Base, called a GIW Facility, had managed to finally Crack the secret to Interdimensional Travel a few days earlier. Unfortunately, they had opened a Portal into a Dimension known as the Ghost Zone, ruled over by a Tyrant King who wanted to enslaved all world under him. Their Breaching of the GZ had alerted the Tyrant King to the existence of their Dimension, and he had launched an immediate Invasion to try and take it over.
And the evidence supported this.
Wonder Woman shared Legends of her People, telling that their Founding Ancestor had fled the rule of a Tyrant King when she passed into the Afterlife.
Zatara shared his Magic Tomes, showing them passages detailing the horrific Rule of the Tyrant King of the Infinite Realms.
They even asked Boston Brand, the Deadman and resident Ghost about it. He hadn't been the the Ghost Zone in Years, but even he told them that he had personally fled the Tyrant King.
And they also learned that when the Tyrant King set his eyes on something, he did not falter on his Warpath to acquire it. The Tyrant King, Pariah Dark, would be back for their World, again and again.
And they needed to be prepared. This Battle was what kickstarted their true Commitment to the idea of a Team. They knew they could not defeat Pariah Dark alone, so they needed to remain as a Team.
But there was another thing that came about from the Battle.
While the JLA had been helping clean up, Wonder Woman came across a strange sight. A Baby had been left in the rubble of the GIW Building.
She asked around, investigated, and did all she could to find the babies parents. At first she thought that one of the GIW Agents had brought their kid to work that day, but their records indicated that none of the Agents had children of that Age. And Neither did any of the other workers who worked on the base, like the Janitors or the Kitchen Staff. And of they did, all of their children were accounted for.
She eventually came to the conclusion that the Baby must belong to somebody in the nearby Town, but that lead led nowhere either.
She finally came to the conclusion that the Baby's parents must have died in the Invasion, a very unfortunate but very real possibility. She was going to place her into the System, but over the course of her investigation she had grown fond of the Child.
She decided to Adopt the baby herself. She didn't know the child's name, so she had to come up with a new one.
"How do you like the name, Stella?"
The baby gurgled in delight.
...
Over the next decade of their Teams Existence, the Justice League had to fend off the Legions of the Ghost King's Army many more times. It seemed that Pariah had grown wise to the fact that they were the ones defending the Human Realm, as almost all of the later attacks were directed on them personally.
It made sense, they were the First Line of Defense against his Armies, if he managed to defeat them, their World would soon fall.
But they dealt with the attacks as they came. They had made it their mission to defend their Home from the Forced of Pariah Darks Army, and they would not falter now, or ever.
In the case of Wonder Woman, he Daughter had grown to be a fine little lady. Stella had eventually developed Powers similar to her mother, in that she could fly and had super strength, and had begged to be trained as a Hero.
And who was Diana to deny her Daughter her greatest wish? Over the next 5 years, Diana trained Stella in the ways of the Amazon's. Then, when Stella was 15, she had her join the newly formed Young Justice.
She made a great group of friends on that Team, and even started going by Ellie as a Nickname. Her best friend was by far Conner, though she didn't know why she felt such a strong connection to him? It felt like she could relate to him, but her situation was completely different?
Ah well, her Mom wouldn't mind having another kid, would she? She always wanted a Brother!
...
Meanwhile in the Ghost Zone, the Ghost King was getting anxious. After 15 years, his Agents in the Human Realm had finally managed to set up the Ritual needed to Summon Him into the Human Realm.
Who knew that accepting the Ghost King's Throne would bar him from entering the Human Realm through normal Means? He couldn't even use the Portal, he needed to be summoned or he simply wouldn't be able to leave his new home dimension.
But now, it was almost time. Just another year or two, and he would finally be able to enter the Human Realm. He would finally be able to Find Her. His Daugther.
Danny would finally be able to reunite with his daughter, Ellie.

@oculusxcaro sent: slaps this 🔮 down
Send 🔮 for your muse to see a memory from my muses past. || accepting.
The tiny marble-like object in Danny's hand would have been perfectly crystal clear, had it not been for the purple-pink tint in it's glass. It was otherwise unassuming when he had found it in the diner booth. It would have made for a cute mini treasure to toss into his backpack, but he had a feeling that something like this would have easily belonged to a small child. So here he was handing it over to Khare, who hopefully would know which of her regulars dropped it.
What he didn't expect was the way he felt when she reached to take it from his hand. He couldn't stop staring directly ahead. But his mind felt like it was going blank and he wasn't there. Or anywhere. Danny couldn't fight it at all. Just what was happening?
-----------------------------
Was Phantom getting worse at this? In the moment, he thought so. He clutched at the injury to his arm and side. Or what was left of his arm. It would heal eventually, he had to remind himself. In his weakened state, he'd automatically went to the place he'd felt the safest. Which, honestly, was a bad move in retrospect. Home wouldn't exactly be the safest place for him in this form.
Leaving a trail of glowing green ectoplasm through his own house was also not something he would have wanted to do had he been thinking properly. It would be another mess he'd have to clean himself, but at least everything in Fenton Works was ghost proofed. So he wouldn't have to worry about accidentally damaging anything. The living room looked-- horror movie adjacent. If that was the proper way to describe it. Like there had been a blood bath, if his ectoplasm had been red.
Phantom was taking a moment to himself, to assess the situation. Curled up by the couch in the living room. The injuries were made by ghost hunting weapons. The Guys in White had wanted to catch him, again, any means necessary.
And they'd caught Phantom off guard again, too exhausted to think properly. He considered himself lucky to have only lost a large amount of his right arm and side in this encounter. He'd be worse off, had they managed to recapture him. That didn't mean the teen wasn't in a lot of pain. It was intense and burning all over the area of his injuries. He could hardly think through it.
What does he do now? What's next? He was trying to figure that out when he heard the familiar sound of a ghost hunter's weapon activate. Instinctually, he moved away from the sound, which caused him to fall over into the corner by the couch. Looking over, he saw-- a large looming figure in bright orange, with an ecto-blaster gun pointed at him. Dad. The word echoed in his head. Phantom closed his eyes and pressed himself further into the wall, expecting the worst. But not wanting to see it.
The ghostly teen fully braced himself for yet another injury. But it never came. Instead he felt himself being picked up. Hesitantly, he opened his eyes and found himself being carried through the kitchen towards the basement. Towards the Lab. There was another wave of panic at this realization. But he was too weak to do anything about it now.
Phantom didn't want to think about it. He didn't want to remember what had happened in the GiW facility. Or the nightmares that replayed the incident, sometimes replacing those cold and uncaring strangers with his parents. He pressed his face into the orange jumpsuit his father wore, and tried to will his mind to go blank. He was surprised again, when a large hand rested on the top of his head. A familiar, comforting gesture. It was only now that Phantom realized, he'd been shaking and crying.
It was rare that Danny broke in this way. He hardly ever let himself get to the point of tears, regardless of how he was feeling inside or outside. Phantom felt much smaller and much younger than he had in a long time. Being held close to his dad again, the teen couldn't help but cling to him. Even in his weakened state, he was apparently difficult to pry off, because Jack seemed to struggle with getting Phantom onto the examination table once they were finally in the Lab.
But now Phantom lay flat on his back, on the metal table in the middle of the room. He was scared of what might happen next, despite the strange comforting way Jack had been handling him beforehand. Phantom's tired and fearful green eyes followed his Dad's towering figure as he moved about the room. Apparently looking for something specific.
It was hard to not notice the green ectoplasm smeared all over the orange jumpsuit. He was almost mesmerized by the scene. Were his vision not suddenly going blurry at the edges, from the tears still spilling from his eyes. He managed to finally force himself to say something, which felt like far too much effort, honestly.
"Wh..What are you..?" Jack moved to Phantom's side quickly, which made the teen cut himself off. He noticed his dad holding a metal box and felt like he was going to be sick. He assumed the worst was in that tiny box, remembering the type of tools his parents would often use to study ghosts. They weren't much different from the type the Guys in White had used to study him.
Jack pulled the hood and goggles of his suit on with his free hand, indicating he was about to do... something. What? Danny could guess many things, but none of them were good. He reached up with his good hand to wipe the tears from his eyes. Jack gently pushed Phantom's arm back down against the table in response to the movement.
"Stay still, this won't hurt... probably." The box was opened, but Danny couldn't see it's contents from where he lay. He could make out the shape of what looked like some cloth bandages being pulled out.
Words spilled out of Phantom's mouth automatically, echoing his thoughts exactly. "You're helping me?" He couldn't process why. He was a ghost after all. It wasn't like Jack knew Phantom was his son either. Did he? What if he knew? Jazz figured it out on her own after all. What if Danny was just terrible at keeping his secret. Did he slip up?
Jack smiled big and set the box down on the counter near them. Sorting through the bandages he'd just pulled out as he spoke. "Of course I am. I'm not a monster." Danny thought back to all the times he'd seen his dad working and talking about what he would do once he got his hands on a ghost. It was just so hard to believe in comparison, that he would let an opportunity to slip through his fingers just to help Phantom.
Looking back and forth between his father and the bandages in his hands, Phantom couldn't help but let out a laugh despite the situation. Or maybe because of the situation. It was so ridiculous to him. Laughing caused a new wave of pain to spread from his injuries and Danny did recoil at the feeling.
"Hey, what's so funny?!" Jack stopped what he was doing to inspect the teen ghost, bandages still clutched in one of his hands.
It was just like his dad, Phantom thought. To do the unexpected. And to skip a few important steps. "Not that I don't appreciate the thought. But those won't really help while I'm like this." He gestured to the very clearly missing portions of his arm and side, still oozing fresh ectoplasm all over the table.
The older Fenton's expression and body language changed, clearly embarrassed at his mistake. "Oh, right. Well... I don't normally do this for ghosts." The bandages were stowed back in the box, and the large man moved with unexpected speed to look through other things on the counter.
Phantom wasn't even sure at first that his parents even had anything meant to help a ghost anyway, so he couldn't blame his dad for not knowing what to do. But he knew better. His mind went back to something specific. If anything in this laboratory could do anything for him, it was that.
"Do you still have some ecto-dejecto laying around here, somewhere?" Jack seemed to stop in his tracks at Phantom's question. Like he was stuck processing it. Meanwhile, Danny was feeling more relaxed than he was moments before. Still in pain, but not scared like he was.
Usually by this time, his injuries would have started to fix themselves up slowly. But it wasn't happening. The idiots in white must have done something to their weapons to make his healing process slow down.
Jack had moved to a specific drawer and produced a spray vial of 'ecto-dejecto', bringing it over to the table. "Not sure how you know about this, but it's meant to weaken ghosts." He stared at it with a skeptical expression.
Phantom was quicker to respond than he had been the whole time. "But it doesn't make ghosts weaker, does it?" He watched Jack as he thought about the vial in his hands for a moment.
"No, it doesn't." Even behind the goggles, Phantom could tell the look in Jack's eyes were of worry. "I've seen this stuff do weird things to ghosts, are you sure it'll help?"
"I have no doubt it's the tool for the job." Danny thought about the last time he used it. He wasn't super keen on how it would work on him, but he was sure it would fix the problem. "...But I'm still confused. Why do you want to help me so bad?"
"Maybe I feel like I owe you one, for back when you helped me with the thing with the Wisconsin Ghost." Jack fidgeted with the device filled with green fluid in his gloved hands for a moment before holding it up, ready to spray it. "But to tell the truth, most ghosts I work on don't look quite as human as you do. In the living room, you called out for your dad and it was hard to not think of my son. I couldn't just shoot you after that."
Phantom was surprised by this information. He didn't remember calling for his Dad out loud, but he must have. He didn't really have time to think about it before Jack pressed down on the spray and he was doused with the green misty ecto-dejecto.
He'd expected the feeling when his form started to destabilize. The same thing had happened to Danielle. But that didn't mean it was pleasant. Danny watched his Dad start to panic as his ghostly form melted on the table. Before his vision blanked, then changed from black to green. It was hard to describe being a puddle, but it wasn't an experience he was unfamiliar with.
Reforming was also a strange feeling that Phantom knew pretty well. Though, he wished he hadn't been used to either sensation. He pulled himself out of the puddle, body parts forming again as he did. He wasn't sure how Danielle made it look so easy to deal with. He always felt sick and dizzy afterwards.
Phantom blinked the stars out of his eyes and tried to wait for his head to stop spinning. But he found himself pulled into a tight hug before he could get his bearings. All he could see in his vision was the color orange. His hearing coming back just in time to catch,
"I thought you were a goner for sure!" Phantom brought both of his arms up to cling onto his dad, pushing into the embrace wholeheartedly out of instinct.
-------------------------------
Danny blinked a few times, head feeling hazy as the little glass ball was finally out of his grasp and in Khare's. He wasn't sure what happened. But he suddenly felt like he really missed his dad. He usually did, but it was hard to push to the back of his mind like usual.
He shook his head and willed himself to not cry as he tried to remember what he was doing before he gave Khare the little trinket. Danny was.... going to sit down and order his food.
Before she could say anything to him, he made his way back to the booth in the back corner and grabbed a menu, still attempting to rid himself of the hazy and sad feelings swirling in his head.

Okay. DP x DC idea. What if the League met Fenton before they met Phantom. Not in a ghost fight. Not doing anything particularly weird. Just Danny Fenton trying his best.
When they first notice the ghosts of Amity Park they all get a little worried about it, but no one can beat out Batman's paranoia. Ghosts may not have caused too many problems outside of Amity yet, but he doesn't trust that to stay that way. So he researches.
He, of course, finds out about Phantom, but shelves his usual just-in-case-he-turns-evil plans until after he can get some ghostly experts to brief the League. He does some cursory research into Phantom's history and abilities, which of course drags up everything in the Amity News cycle and some references in both Ancient Egypt and Ancient Rome. (So Batsy gives up on the idea of finding out a human civilian identity. Kid's dead and his "life" has been lost to time until he decides to say something.)
But, more importantly, there are no good options for who to ask for lessons in ghost hunting.
First option: the GIW. Absolute morons who have never caught anything stronger than an ectopus, cause more damage to property than the ghosts, and have security so lax it doesn't even take Batman ten seconds to get in. Absolutely not. Not for the watch tower.
Second option: Vlad Co. Owned and operated by billionaire Vlad Masters who runs in the same social circles as Lex Luthor. He has better security than the GIW but the question with him is not whether or not he *could* keep the secret, but whether or not he *would.*
Third option: Dr.s Fenton of FentonWorks. They have the most cutting edge ghost hunting technology and the most published papers. But. Well. A brief survey of the town makes it very clear they are biased at best and bigoted at worst. Not something the League wants to associate with, but they are still the best of the bad options.
Or so they think until Bruce Wayne goes to open contact with them and notices the Fenton children. He knew about them before coming of course. Jasmine Fenton, top of her class with a full ride to Harvard and plans to major in psychology. Has historically been vocal about her distaste for her parent's work. Likely because of Danny. Daniel Fenton is a trouble maker barely scraping by in his classes that had an accident in his parents lab a year ago. Not the brightest and not well behaved, but by all accounts he's got a good heart.
And neither of then are very enthused about his presence in their home. Neither of them seem to care for their parents anti-ghost rhetoric either. Jazz tries to reason with them and Danny just rolls his eyes behind their back. And casually takes apart and fixes one of their inventions.
Bruce quickly makes a minor investing deal with the elder Fentons as cover and a quick way to keep and eye on their research and finds an excuse to get the kids out of the house to talk. Once out, he extends the Justice League's request for training with ghost hunting gear and a project to install anti-ecto security measures in their base(s). Danny is hesitant but agrees.
And Danny is so tired and so done with this crap when he's in the Watch Tower. (He's enamored with the space station for several minutes, but once he gets on track, the League think he's a mini Bruce. All business and telling them not to be idiots.)
He gives them a basic run down of what each item is and how to use it. Common ghostly abilities and power scaling. (Do not call him to consult on a blob ghost, ectopus, or other weak ghostly animal. But they are not to try and fight several of the stronger ghost. A fair amount of this tech will make their afterlives miserable, but won't actually do much beyond annoy them. Superman in particular should stay away from anything strong enough to overshadow. No one wants to fight a possessed Kryptonian.) He gives them plenty of thermoses, guns, nets, and specter deflectors plus some odds and ends for them to test out. And then he starts working on the shield, which he worked on with Tucker to upgrade so it would recognize his ecto signature as friendly (and a couple others like Clockwork, Pandora, Frostbite, and Wulf) so it wouldn't shoot him on the spot.
It would probably take several trips to get everything working properly, by which point Danny has likely made friends with a few League members. And a few of them have probably noticed something weird about him, but they ignore it cause he's a good kid and it's just a little weird. Won't hurt anything.
Constantine takes one look at the kid and is not seen again until months after he finally leaves.
But now they have working ghost defenses and they can protect people if a ghost tries to attack anywhere outside of Amity! (Yes, several ask Danny to install a shield at their personal hideouts as well. Batman tries to figure it out on his own and decides to just ask Danny for now. He'll figure it out eventually, but Fenton schematics are a pain and the power source doesn't look like anything he's ever seen before.)
Eventually everything is done and Danny goes back to his life with a large chunk of cash in his new bank account and a secure line just incase the league needs to consult with him again. Danny thinks that's the end of it until Batman shows up decked out in Fenton gear looking for Phantom.

DP X DC AU idea
First of all, I've ingested very little actual DC media that isn't fan made (& usually crossovers) so if I get anything wrong let me know please.
~~~
Danny's secret is revealed. His parents don't take it great and get in contact with the GIW for help to 'get their son back.' The GIW take him and, like most ideas like this he's tortured and experimented on. He somehow escapes, they let their guard down when he stopped trying to resist the vivisection.
He can't go home. It's not safe there anymore. So he goes to Gotham. One(1) weird kid in a weird city isn't going to stand out right?
An idea I had was that, when they took him, the GIW erased all traces of his existence. Legally, he never existed. The people he knew might remember him but that's all. Of course Sam Tucker and Jazz are looking for him but they aren't really getting anywhere. The ghosts are looking too. He might not have officially been crowned their king, but he's directly in line for the throne and they want him back. As much as they fight, they don't really want him gone.
There's something wrong with his powers though. He's still a halfa, an Gotham has enough death and destruction that finding ectoplasm makes it pretty easy survive, (A headcanon of mine is that he can turn ectoplasam into nutrients so he doesn't need to eat as long as he has enough ectoplasam) but he can't go ghost or use most of his powers. He can do the basics like go intangible/invisible but that's it.
The cause? Selfishness.
With his obsession being protection (with a secondary space obsession ofc) he becomes weak if he doesn't keep up with his obsession. Being trapped so long has kept him from helping anyone so he's too weak to do much.
He has to lay low now too, so there might be obvious chances for him to help people but he can't take them. (Maybe that makes it even worse?) He does what he can as a human though. Whenever his current alley area is getting destroyed he help people evacuate before getting himself out. (Being dissected multiple times makes it easy to realize that he can't really die anymore) this way he's been slowly collected 'karma points' by helping people so he's stronger now. He an creat small ecto blasts with the ectoplasam and create a small amount of ice, but he still can't transform or use his stronger powers (he's been a halfa for a few years now, having eventually been convinced to actually train more than just his duplications abilities)
On one of his many helping trips he gets injured (he might not be able to die but he can still get hurt obviously) Jason (as red hood) find him due to some halfa/revived/ectoplasam shenanigans and is like 'oh shit that's the kid thar keeps escaping Bruce's radar holy shit,' and helps him in a mix of, 'hah take thaft, bruce, I found the kid before you,' and 'oh shit this kid is bleeding out! Wait why is his blood mixed with Lazarus pit goo?' And decides to take him back to one of his safe houses to recover.
Danny wakes up and promptly starts panicking. 'Has he been kidnapped? Where the hell is he?' Then Jason shows up and he's like 'oh shit another halfa? What the hell is wrong with his core tho?'
Shenanigans inuse, eventually Jason and Danny talk it out. They've both got a weird trust as living ghost creatures (which Danny understands and Jason does Not) but anyway they both explain their identities to eachother and agree to help eachother out.
Even if he's weakened, Danny's ghost royalty status seems to calm the pit when he's around so Jason is having a field day with that.
Anyway, Danny agrees to help Jason control his anger and eventually get the contaminated ectoplasam delt with and control ghost powers if they show up. (he eventually gets basic inangeblilty/invisibility and actoplasam blasts along with the white part of his hair getting bigger and his eyes do the glowy thing with all strong emotions not just anger, but doesn't go full ghost)
In return Jason helps Danny help people more so he can recover faster, as well as help him avoid batman as much as possible.
Time passes and Danny slowly gets his abilities back. He still can't transform which isn't really a problem since he's trying to hide, but his other abilities are back, along with the ability to make portals to the ghost zone which he didn't have before.
He visits the zone as soon as he realizes he can and calms down the ghosts looking for him there along with sending a message via ghosts to Sam, Tucker & Jazz to let them know he's safe. (They don't know where he us just that he's safe) He finally agreeing to except the crown. He can't officially become king yet since he can't go ghost but he does so unofficially, starting to form connections with the others, along with starting to clean of the zone. (It is a Mess, with no one really taking care of it for hundred of years it's pretty much completely fallen apart so that has to be dealt with emmediatly)
He drags Jason to the far frozen as soon as possible, where he gets the ghost equivalent of therapy and hot tubs. (which Danny has a pitty party over not knowing exists until now) Danny spend a lot of time going back and forth between the zone and living world helping people on both sides. Still can't transform though which is actually starting to cause problems in the zone.
Somehow Bruce finds out that Jason has become friends with the kid he's been looking for and kind of throws an adult tantrum which consists of threatening Jason, who is Not Taking His Shit, and fucks off to the ghost zone for a mini vacation.
Danny agrees to meet Batman (he knows his and the other kids identites now from following Jason around*) and the rest of the league because he's running out of excuses to visit to living world and 'Forming Conections With Heros' is his last option.
* -Bruce panics when he discovers he'd been followed regularly without noticing, until he is assured that no one would have been able to find Danny anyway since he was intangible, invisible and flying (hc that Danny looses all warmth his body after the tortures and is both constantly cold and invisible to heat vision)-
Danny meets the league and things go about has well as you expect. (He only agrees to go if Jason is there too) they bring him to the space headquarters both as a mix of 'resect' and because that way they can trap him if he tries to escape. (He can phase through the glass and float back to earth but they don't know that)
His space obsession Acts up pretty much as soon as he gets there, and he floats off to investigate before they could even start to talk. Jason just shrugs and leaves the league to their confusion. He find Danny back at his apartment apologing a few hours later.
They meet with the league again. This time on earth so Danny doesn't leave again. They have a somewhat civil conversation (batman is still pissed but the other like Danny so there's nothing much he can do) until someone asks in Danny could perhaps be a batman/other bat-child clone (black hair blue eyes mysterious vibes) Danny promises he's not and they believe him and move on with the conversation, but not before Superman does the equivalent of 'thank God, you wouldn't want a clone anyway.'
Jason explains to Danny that Superman has a clone and insinuates that they don't get along, so he can get more drama. (and throw a clone hater under the bus(jayroy?)) Danny snaps, and pretty much just chews Supeman out for abandoning the equivalent of his own child (Batman is trying to use 'Has a clone' to figure out who Danny is but he still can't find anything) and decides Superman in his least favorite superhero. (batman is close second and his favorite is either greenlantern or wonder woman)
Jason is off on a mission somewhere and Dick drops by because he heard through the grapevine (Bruce has been too busy trying to find some kid that looks like a potential adoptee) Jason has been better lately and wants to check on him. Instead he comes across someone who looks identical to pre-death Jason sitting on Jason's couch eating ice cream and has a Mental Breakdown. ('IS THIS WHAT PEOPLE WENT BY BETTER??? WHAT THE FUCK???')
Danny is like 'who is this man that came through the window and then promptly started crying?' But helps him calm down enough for them to talk before Danny calls Jason who just tells him to just kick Dick out.
Danny Doesn't Do That. Instead he tells Dick everything and makes him promise not to tell Bruce. Dick agrees because, 'wtf Bruce? You don't meet a kid that looks like your previously-dead-son that's friends with said previously-dead-son and Not tell your other children.'
Things go on. Until one day something shows up (power hungry ghost? Doesn't have to be DP related) that the league can't seem to beat. Things are getting desperate and Jason gets severely injured and is about to be killed and all Danny's attempts to keep himself hidden go out the window taking his 'selfishness' with them (cause of course he would consider protecting himself selfish) and he just thinks he purely wants to save his friend.
He goes ghost for the first time in what is probably nearly a year now and pretty much speed runs the process. Becomes king, gets all his powers back with a boost and summons every ghost available (a lot of them have gotten quite attached to Jason the ghost-human (he's not exactly a halfa) and willingly comes to help in a matter of seconds and just tears whatever was threatening his friend (and the world) apart.
The ghosts mostly just congratulate Danny one his Official King status and let themselves be set back (some resist but Danny sends them back pretty easily) he sends Jason too to get healed up in the far frozen and them follows after quickly when he realized that the hero league and their associates are just staring at him with surprised pikachu faces. (Exepted for Constantine who congratulated Danny in an attempt to stay on The Ghost King's good side then fucked off as quickly as possible)
He goes back eventually and thing progress as chaoticly as you expect.
BONUS POINTS IF:
- Bruce is the Last one to find out Danny's real identity and nearly busts a vain (instead he just doesn't talk to Anyone for a week straight. Everyone involved has a great week)
- Danny gets close to the other bat children and starts considering them his sibling, but not Bruce his father so it's just, 'they are sibling, but you are Not The Father.' Everyone other than Bruce finds it hilarious.
- Danny forces Superan to start parenting (or at least being civil) and Connor is confused but the ghost kid seems fine so he doesn't really mind.
- When Dani eventually shows up, her and Connor become best friends
- Bruce is immediately pressured into getting every single ghost law removed, and Danny's parents are arrested for child endangerment. It doesn't bother him much, they aren't really his family anymore.
- Bruce officially adopts Dani and Jazz, but not Danny. Both because he doesn't technically exist, (an easy fix but Danny is too busy with ghost work to really want to deal with human life heis getting his education in the Zone anyway) and because messing with Bruce has become his favorite pass time
-Alfred let's Danny and Jazz into the kitchen. (much to everyone's astonishment and Bruce's annoyance) Having to get by with their parent's (often living) food has made them both food cooks. Jazz doesn't use her privileges very much she doesn't even live in the Mansion since she's at college, (an will eventually intern at Arkham Asylum) but Danny does a lot. Despite not needing to eat he considers cooking very calming and does it quite often.
- Danny Doesn't tell anyone (other than eventually Alfred) he plans to take over Alfred's job when he eventually passes, on the conditions that he will not do so until Bruce is no longer around, (its Mostly a joke) and, if Alfred becomes a ghost (he does) he joins Danny at his palace in the ghost zone. (This offer is given to everyone and their decendents/spouses other than Bruce who is told he will be given an island to brood in peace (again. A partial joke. Danny dosnt actually hate he just doesn’t particularly like him), although he is welcome to visit)
- When Jazz eventually starts working at Arkham Asylum Danny joins her often to make sure she's safe. He also enjoys watching the patients become utterly confused about a doctor that actually wants to help, as well as knowing what ghosts to entually watch out for.
- Danny's first proper decree as king in the Joker's death and End to prevent any further unessiary deaths. as it's legal by ghost law decree batman has no saw in the matter and is forced to except it.
- Everlasting trio. Either romantic or as a QPR, it doesn't matter. Just. Everlasting Trio.
V-Journal <Halfa>
Entry 6: 17/08/2004
Halfa
-Being that dangling between the threat of life and death it self.
Like Wise they have many type:
+Nature occurance via getting caught in a natural open portal/Mono Core:
Are rather short lived. Longest lasting one usually can only live for 1-2 year. But if the transition fully to death stated didn’t result in their core crack leading to fading then said Ghost would gain the ability to open Portal Between realm.
+Forced/ Alchemist / Occult method:
Usually result in victim death, not just the kind of fading away. But the Victim use in these said method melt into some sort of mindless green goo monster that latch on anything with soul signal to drain the victim of it.
>Do Not :Touch them or use Ecto base attack or Spirit magic on them. >Kill method: At Least Sun Surface Lv of Fire or Sub Zero Deep Frost +Illegal Ribbone Stealing+Occult+Natural Birth: Base on document i scavanged from the wasted GIW headquarter, infancy death rate and miscarried are high. >My lil Angel Baby Daughter Ellie is born from this method >She is the only success speciment out of hundred if not thousand fail attemp at trying to recreated me. ^ The project is shut down 10 year ago after the GIW got completely obliterated by an Unknown Focus Ghosts Attack. I will make sure it stay that way, thing like this should never happened again >Ellie a Shinning ray of sunshine . My lil girl also have same dual core as me althought her Ghost core are stronger then her Spirit Core. Making her really weak and pront to sickness if over use ghost Power. ... Spirit core<Fire>-Ghost core<Wind> >Age 11. Death caused: Core failure >Obsession : None <Althought she really love Speeding around and looking at the Star in the Sky, We actually went to the moon once, little to say it was haunted... by alien ghost. Horrible vacation yes. But good memories to look back and laugh about also yes.> +Scientific Method/ Chimera Soul / Unworld Vampire Ghost +Dual Core, Each core have it own personality and core Element Example: Main Spirit core Vlad (Fire)- (Earth) Ghost Core Plasmius <Imagine wake up having memories and look of a monke , sharing everything with said monke and no memories of what you are, that what Plas describe chimera soul halfa to be like ...Also he name himself that not me. To me it like having an annoying lazy evil twin living rent free in your head> +After getting flunk back few hundred year in time. I discovered that i’m immortal. I look like i haven’t aged even a day ...My look change depend on how mentally mature i’m or feeling at the moment. Seem like after Ellie passing away i have been rapidly aging to the point that i can actually grow a goatee now. +I can’t be killed, if one Core is exhaused the other core will take pilot sit in place of the exhaused core, this cover the case if both core got damage, I would go into a comatoes State that last for few month, my body got auto poof back to my Ghost realm. When both core is fully recovered i poof back to existence . Simple. Plas theorize that this ability might come from the states of mind that i’m at when i die, A soul ready to move on to next life, which created an enclose life,death and rebirth cycle. +Anatomy wise: Halfa anatomy are similar to Normal Human with slight alteration in ghost form that replaced or organic matter with ectoplasm.< that cover the inside too> +Obsession: I personally don’t have one < no plas that just me being a normal football fan> - Plasmius on the other hand antique ,Snow globe and shiny artifact < For old ghost it hard to figure out what their true obsession is caused their current one is a very twisted unrelated version of the original obsession, I suspect it having something to do with Family seeing how equally enrage Plas is when Our lil girl got hurt. Only time we ever agree about something> +Scientific Method / Perfect Synth/ Purgatory Avatar: +Daniel James Fenton, Age 14. +Dual core, Both are perfect copy of each other and operate in synth. Element originally i thought the boy just have 2 element like me, Turn out he have all. The Boy develop power at an incredible Speed, What took me 20 year to Develop took him mere 3 month. +At first i thought he is also a short lived one due to how scrawny and sickly he look. Turn out Daniel is just living under constant stress and unknowingly shift his own form to reflect that, He is doing much better now, getting taller and looking way more lively then when we first meet. <was he an immortal Halfa too ? i can’t tell> +After the Ghost king incident....Sometime i can see a faded glowing Green crown appear on his head. Seem like after the Original King is nuke off from the plane of existence. The crown/ ring link to his reign melt off. Many powerful ghost in the zone is being mark with this green crown... It seem to signal that the ghost is a King candidate marked by Purgatory it self... +Obsession: Space/Love? +For some reason he can access all ghost domain without the Host ghost permition. Poor kid don’t even know he been breaking into ded people house until i point it out after he just walted into my personal locked Domain. >Those idiot Gov GIW organization never learn, How many time must i Distroy this stupid organization. This time they even attemp to replicated the event that give daniel power.....But from this i also discovered that fatality rate in these experiement is 100% on all subject <even after transition to death, the should be form ghost core never form, they just got straight up got erased>....We must have something that those poor soul don’t have to survived and be cursed with this aren’t we .
What Qualifies As A Few Too Many Word’s? One - PhannieMay - Day 26 Ghost Speak
Summary: He’s well aware you’re confused, but he’s a little tied up right now
Mr. Dex jolts up out of his chair as a rather pissed off looking red skinned ghosts slams down onto his desk, cracking and splintering the desk in the process. With all the students jumping out of their seats as well, a fair amount of them drawing ectoweapons and pointing them at the ghost.
It really shows how used to this ghost crap everyone is, that no one shoots when it lunges on and pins down Mr. Dex.
Danny’s not sure what to make of this, he's never seen this ghost before and he can read the confusion on his face as everyone is yelling or snapping at him. Danny was one of the few people not pointing a weapon of some kind at him. Not being one to carry ectoweapons since that shit just hurt him. Plus, it would make him look weak to any ghosts. Relying on ghost hunter weapons instead of his ghost abilities, was flat-out insulting to some ghost. It was different if it was something he made himself or just some capture device.
Danny can tell the ghost being confused is just making him angrier, quickly realising why he’s confused as he talks, in ghost speak, “ŵhęrę įß Phæñtöm, ñëëd Phæñtöm”. Clueing in that this guy clearly doesn’t know English, maybe doesn’t know any human language. It’s not like that was exactly uncommon. Especially with the Ghost Zone native ghost species, which most of the more animalistic types were. Watching as he snaps around his snouted head and his tail thrashes more and more aggressively.
Glimpsing that a few of his more trigger happy classmates look on the verge of shooting, and it’s obvious to Danny this ghost will not react well to violence. Likely fighting back aggressively, there was something desperate about his demeanour and desperate always meant willing to do whatever. Mentally groaning, as it’s clear he’s got a job to do.
Pretty well the entire class gapes, confused, as Danny skilfully slips in front of everyone. Waving behind him for everyone to pause or stand down; which makes zero sense to them as this ghost is clearly dangerous and Danny wasn’t even armed. Not to mention, since when did he take charge of any situation really? Well, ok he has done it before with ghost stuff. This was just different somehow.
Watching as the ghost squints its eyes at Danny and bares its teeth, before Danny confuses the class even more, speaking in some weird scratchy sounding language, “dœ ñōt çüt thę hûmæñ. Ŵhÿ dœ ÿœû ñëëd Phæñtöm¿”.
The ghost loosens his hold on Mr. Dex, likely a bit out of shock, enough for the teacher to scoot away. No one else’s moves though, as the two have a bit of a conversation. A highly confusing one to everyone else.
“Ÿœû ßpëåk ghœßt, çhįłd?”, shaking his head, “ñø mættęr, ŵhęrę įß Phæñtöm? Mŷ pęœpłę ñëëd hęłp, GÏŴ, pœįšœñ”. Danny’s officially not impressed, anything with the GIW was bad and poisoning is exactly the kind of thing they’d do. Standing up straight, “Ï æm hë, įñ hûmæñ førm”, Danny flicks his eyes to his classmates, “thęÿ dœ ñõt kñœŵ”. Flicking his eyes back to the, now a bit startled, ghost. But he quickly accepts this knowledge and shows it with a sharp nod.
Danny looks up a bit at the tall ghost as he stands nearly upright, Danny maintains his own calm but wary stance as his classmates shuffle nervously and side-eye him. The ghost speaks, accenting his words with one hand as he does so, “ßpræÿęd ßœmęthįñg œñ öûr łæñd, łæñd æñd çrøpß męłtęd. Öûr ėçtöpłåßm įßñ’t prøçęßßįñg ñütrįęñtß rįght”. Now Danny’s just plain worried, that could be deadly, “æńÿ fædęd¿ Fædīñg¿”.
The rest of the class is just getting progressively more confused, as Danny looks like he’s sad or something. His tones changed to be more like soft static than fast scratching. The other ghost also seems almost cautious and sad, “fædīñg, ÿęß. Ŵë dœ ñōt kñœŵ ŵhåt thę pœįšœñ įß”. Whatever that response was, Danny’s clearly not happy with it. And Star has had enough of the weirdness, “Danny what’s going on? What language even is this?”.
Danny gets their confusion but he can’t really deal with that right now, waving her off as he continues talking to the ghost, “dïd ÿœû ßëë thę ßpræÿ¿”. The ghost nods rapidly and draws the symbol for cold to emphasise how cold it was, “pūrpłë, çøłd, ßhįmmęręd”. Danny’s ran into something like that from them before, minus the shimmering. But, knowing his parents to sell to the GIW sometimes. Could likely explain that, they’d made stuff that was like pixie dust but the “sparkles” were more like tiny sharp needles. Slivers of blood blossom thorns mixed with ecto-rejecto. And unlike their ecto-dejecto, this stuff worked. Frowning, “Ï æm fæmįłär. Ŵîłł ñëëd tœ fętçh ßûppłįęß. Høŵ’d ÿœû gēt hërë¿”.
Danny feels a bit bad about Star throwing up her hands, and most of the class glaring at him now. But he’s more interested in this issue and the ghost holding out a charm, somewhat similar to ClockWork’s time medallions but instead like like two spirals intertwined and going in opposite directions.
The ghost tosses one to him as he talks, “łœçætïœń mėdäłłïœńß, gët ŵhęrę ÿœû ñëëd tœ bę”. Danny gets the implications of that, the thing must already be set to wherever this guy’s from. Nodding strongly at the ghost, who pushes the spirals together to be touching, before leaving though a strange purple portal.
Danny, muttering to himself, “ŵęłł thęñ”. Before turning to his class, “çæñ’t ęxpłäįñ-”, shaking his head and clearing his throat, “got places to be, so save it”. Waving his hand at them before booking it out of the room. Fully catching Kwan mutter, “what the fuck just happened?”.
Danny’s thankful the whole ordeal actually didn’t take that long, sure, he’d have been pretty well fucked if he didn’t already have a bunch of anti-agents made up for pretty well all his parents, The GIW’s, Red’s, and Vlad’s, shit. But the Revlex’s where pretty well tickled pink at the quick efficient help. They weren’t about to start calling him saviour or great one, but guardian was pretty damn close, not to mention less embarrassing. Most ghosts and humans called him that anyway.
Managing to get back before class even finished, rubbing at his neck awkwardly as he slinks inside. “I wouldn’t even bother sitting back down, Fenton”, Mr. Dex’s soft tone is far more appreciated than Star’s practically pissed one, “yeah, you better spill what all that was”.
Sighing, “yeah saw that coming. You, uh, all know how the GIW are trash, yeah?”. Danny still gets a good laugh at how people would actively chase those guys out of town. They really were more extreme than his parents and more open about it, which earned them the scorn of the whole damn town. Excluding his parents, anyway.
Watching all the nodding heads, “well they were extra trash recently. Went and poisoned a random ghost clan. That ghost was just looking for help”. Kwan shakes his head, “got a funny way of asking for it”. Danny shrugs, ghosts were just violent things by nature. And attacking was a pretty damn quick way to get Phantoms attention, plus that crap had to be messing with the guys head some.
“Speaking of asking, I’ll ask again, since you so rudely shoved me off last time. What the hell was that language?”, Star is flat-out glaring daggers at him. He gets it, really, he confused the hell out of them; but being a confusing mess was practically a requirement for him, being the little walking impossibility that he was. Shrugging, “does it matter? Just words. My family’s been around some, you pick things up when you travel”.
Pretty well the whole class is glaring at him now, cause he’s not giving them what they want. But that’s just too bad for them, their curiosity just really wasn’t that important.
Chuckling some as the bell goes off, his next period is a free one so he’s really in no rush. Perfectly content to just watch them all scuttle off to their next classes so they can’t really hound him.
Mr. Dex walks up, “thanks for what you did back there. You could have stayed out of it, let things play out. Would have saved you the current hassle”. Danny waves off the appreciation, “think nothing of it. No really, if you want to do me a favour in return or whatever, then just forget this ever happened”.
“You really are a mystery, even to me; and I’m supposed to be the teacher here”, Danny can read that his teacher’s not really happy about that. So Danny makes a show of being amused, chuckling some, “then I’m exactly what I need to be”. No one ever really understood a hero, that was half the point. Otherwise, people would get too involved, your secrets in the open to be used against you, it would make you predictable too; a deadly combination for the hero or anyone around them.
So he’ll stick to being an enigma, even if they resent Fenton for it.
End.
bad end
Send me “bad end” for an alternate, dark/tragic ending to my muse’s story
This got super long so the rest is under a read more
Danny had tried his hardest to keep things heading in a good direction. However, as time goes by, it seems to him that fate has decided that he shouldn’t have a good end. And it all starts with Tucker.
Tucker and his family move away randomly one day. He wasn’t sure why - neither was Sam - but that didn’t mean they couldn’t stay in touch. However, as time went by, they began to talk less and less. Even with Sam, Tucker seemed to have gone quiet. Then the news hit the entire school; Tucker had passed away. Him and his family tragically died in a car accident.
Next up was Jazz. She had decided that Danny and Sam needed as much help as possible when it came to ghost hunting. Wanting to keep them safe especially after the news of what happened to their best friend, she continued to offer help until the day of the accident. It was supposed to be simple; fight the ghost, stop their plans, and catch them in the Fenton Thermos.
It never happened like that.
Instead the ghost was much stronger. Danny was badly hurt and both of the girls were surprised that he could still remain in his ghost form due to how much damage his body received. The ghost was just laughing at him, stating that he was foolish to think he could remain like that forever in order to defeat them. Due to being the least injured, she decided to use one of the inventions their parents made in order to give her body the extra strength needed. Thankfully, this ghost seemed to be one capable of opening up random portals somewhere and had one directly behind them. The ghost was also distracted. Jazz saw her chance to push them into the portal to who knows where.
They were both lost.
That left Danny, Sam, and their parents. With Tucker dead and Jazz lost who knows where and possibly dead, they grew protective of each other.
This was what made Sam fade away from his life.
She took too many hits for him from ghost hunter in order to give him the upper hand that they took from him. After that night, he could still feel Sam in his arms. He could still see the look in her eyes as she slowly walked into the light.
It was their mistake.
The GiW had managed to capture him. Told his family after they discovered who he was that he was just a ghost pretending to be their son and was waiting for the perfect chance to destroy humanity. They placed the blame for Sam’s death on him; claiming that he was the one who had killed her after she had managed to convince the Guys in White that he wasn’t a bad ghost.
He had to live with this. This and the other lies they spat at him. How else was he supposed to act? He had no home, no family, no friends. Their words - like venom - told him how much the world had grown to hate him. How they all wished Phantom never existed. That Fenton never existed.
It didn’t take long for it all (the lies and other forms of torture performed on him) to cause him to snap one day. The once peaceful child was now feared even amongst the GiW. Any agent who entered the once white room where he remained never left. No one dared to enter to see if they needed help handling the halfa.
So they started to try and avoid him until they worked out how to stop the monster they created.
Unfortunately, they were too late. Even though they had stopped trying to feed him in order to try and keep him weak as they began to build what they hoped was the machine needed to stop him, Danny had learnt that flesh from victims was an okay meal. He had learnt how much his body could handle and just how he was supposed to survive. Just quietly make a hole in the room; leave as Fenton, strike as Phantom. One by one, the agents began to fade.
Not that Danny cared.
He just wanted them gone. And - as time passed - that was what had happened. The GiW where gone; all killed by Danny. Which meant he could go off and teach the rest of the world how much he no longer cared. How much he’d rather see humanity die. After all, what had they done for him? They treated him like a ghost; made him an outcast. They classed him as a freak and made sure he had that burned into his mind. They caused him physical and mental pain every day of his life. His family even caused him trauma!
Yet - after the fall of the last agent - he just returned to his room in the base and sat in the corner.
He didn’t bother to move. To leave and start his revenge.
He just cried.
I'm glad you liked it #^v^#
I really wanted us to be just as timeless as Danny with my writing so I guess that's a success. As it is only some lines of text here, but weak and having to be discreet when it is to find and return to AmityPark then to return, even with the reading of the sky and the insting of return (which made it return to its corner of ocean but couldn't get him back to AmityPark because she wasn't home anymore) must have taken him months, but he wasn't mentally present enough to feel the time, he was more ghost/dead than human/alive to that time
Danny needed time to mourn, just, EVERYTHING, then the acceptance and the beginning of healing with his return to humanity, to reconnect with the passing of time and the beginning of the songs.
Getting closer to humans is also the unconscious sign that he is beginning to become close to having a new human contact. He is finally ready to reconnect with others. After having been so hurt, it takes courage and with his isolation he will have a lot of difficulty.
For me it's more to write a prologue of a story about the reconstruction after the mourning of his life before that to torture Danny even if… I'm not going easy with him I imagine ^^'
And for Fenton Work, Jazz will have no interest or desire to take over the place, the GiW would also have no reason to keep the place instead of just repatriating everything.
So I let you choose, explosion by not changing the filter? camouflage of the GiW? revenge for their prince? Fentons sabotage? Did the explosion cause human loss / victim?
Also in the version in my head, the fact that Danny is has the perfect balance and a key element has the stability of the portal. GiW destroyed his human body. The Fenton portal wouldn't be functional for a long time with danny on the operating table
And I imagine AmityPark was already irradiating through the open gate, so with its explosion….the area around the town was evacuated and is now just totally off limits
what if Jazz, Sam and Tucker are still alive? … say that either they acted strongly and we failed and had to do deal with the consequences. either they waited for an opportunity but had to go on with their lives…. But who knows what produced the accident that allowed Danny to fall into the water~ maybe it was who we tried for the whole thing everything and was no longer able or in a state or too watchful or otherwise to go back to Danny
and finally, I described the song in such a way that we can interpret it as Danny becoming a space sirent :3 I find his cool as a concept, but I didn't want to impose it for those who would like to continue
I hope I have given all the leads I am considering and why I have remained vague
after all if Danny is to let go of the past and accept living now, we too must accept that we will probably not be telling the whole truth about any of this. Even if I think that by reading me here you saw a bit of what I personally imagined
There was a rumor going around with the people who go out at sea. One where a voice could be heard the farther you went out, there was no fixed placed it came from, no has anyone ever seen the owner of said voice, but everyone who has heard of it claimed it to be the most beautiful, enchanting voice they've ever heard and they felt as if within a trance.
Like a Siren's song.
No one really saw a problem with it, the voice was nice to hear out at sea and unlike the Siren's heard in stories the voice never tried to lead anyone astray or entrap them so far that they willingly fall into the ocean.
At least Diana and Batman went undercover for a high profile event. Diana was sure she didn't hear correctly when she heard there might be the chance of being far enough to hear the 'siren's voice', it couldn't be a siren, for they were turned into trees thousands of years ago.
The host of the party didn't lie, however. Far enough into the ocean and she heard the voice of what was unmistakably a siren. Did one of them somehow manage to escape the punishment of Aphrodite? Or did someone reverse their transformation into a tree.
She had to know, she may not be killing innocents know, but with the track record of the Siren's she knew, it would only be a matter of time before she killed someone.
After the mission was over she called for a meeting with the Justice League. Asking her to help locate the lone Siren out in the sea, Siren's were dangerous beings, captivating wayward sailors with their voices to bend their will and inevitably kill them.
With Batman's help she managed to pinpoint where exactly the Siren seemed to frequent the most, then sent out to find her. She wasn't exactly surprised that Batman followed her, she sort of expected it, even.
She knew Siren's were dangerous women, their voices their most powerful weapon to captivate the weak willed. She could see that this Siren at least had some good in her, based on how no sailors disappeared or threw themselves into the ocean, and hoped she would allow herself to be reformed.
So what was she supposed to do, when she flew to the lone rock sitting in the sea with Batman in his plane behind her, and the dangerous Siren she expected was not only a child, but male as well. A boy who couldn't even be past his teens, yet covered in scars from where she could see.
The most dastardly scar of all being what was undoubtedly one of dissection running down his torso.
A King For Tonight’s Fentertainment - Chap. 2: The Horde Plays Spot The Lord
Summary: Because, of course, Red couldn't keep her mouth shut. Add in, of course, his mom doing her usual. And, of course, Danny just can't fucking die.
Danny goes wide-eyed as Red slowly points to the air just above her head, pretty well sure she’s making some kind of reference to his crown. Which, if she’s able to see his ecto-field and his shedding off ectoplasmic energy, she’d be able to see his Ghost King shit. Danny gets jolted out of his worried gaping by Maddie’s gasp, “Danny, sweetie, how? It is you. But how? And, and the cape? Sweetie?”. Danny grumbles incoherently to himself, firmly annoyed at this confirmation of his worries. Sure his Ghost King shit looks great, and he rocks it; but the point of keeping it all invisible is so others, can’t, fucking, see, it.
Dash runs up, “oh I call bullshit!”, promptly nabbing the visor away. “Fentelephone?! What the fuck?”, Dash gapes as he raises and lowers the visor repeatedly, before just passing it off to people. Dash collects himself as the other remaining students and teachers all take turns gaping at Danny; while Danny looks around awkwardly at the stupid amount of attention and inquisitive eyes. Dash smirks, making a blatant attempt at making sure Danny keeps his loser wimp title. While Danny’s distracted by Maddie awkwardly patting at his shoulder, Dash walks over and shoves Danny’s other shoulder, “you’re the only one who could make a freaking cape look so lame, Fentoenail. You managed to make it look damn pathetic on your weak little loser frame”, Dash scoffs, “bet it’s some kind of weirdo loser crown. The ultimate weirdo, king of the freaks”. Danny can’t help but snort and rolls his eyes exaggeratedly at Dash. King of freaks wasn’t exactly wrong, and he was grade A fucking weird, nearly one of a kind. It’s a fair bit hard to be weirder or freakier than being half fucking dead.
Maddie turns towards Dash and puts her hands on her hips, “excuse me, young man?”.
“Uhh..”, Dash backs off rapidly.
But the odd settling in of normalcy is jarred away, as a ghost unicorn slams into the shield followed by an ectonet. Danny tilts his head up, full well knowing that’s Skulker he’s sensing and the net’s probably Skulkers. Sure enough, Skulker comes into view. Skulker looks around before shaking his head, “I’m not even going to ask, whelp. Also not foolish enough to even attempt breaking your barrier”. Danny groans and points over his shoulder at the two GIW agents, who are aggressively trying to grab onto the visor but everyone’s basically playing keep away. Skulker sighs at the agents, “seriously?”, looking back at Danny, “you better keep them in there”, grinning maliciously, “or maybe don’t, I could use some new prey”.
Danny snorts but Maddie speaks to Danny before he can respond to Skulker, who promptly flies off looking to avoid any Phantom trademarked humour, “Danny! Ignore that! You should know better than to converse with ectofilth!”.
Danny looks back down towards his mom, “uh, isn’t getting Amity back to the Human Realm more important than who I talk to?”. Mr. Lancer raises an eyebrow, “Human Realm? Would that happen to be another term for earth?”. Danny puts his hands up again awkwardly and takes a step back, “heh heh”, promptly bumping into Dex, a tenth grader. Who’s wearing the visor and now attempting to feel the cape, Danny attempts to not laugh at how silly the guy looks; mostly failing. But this results in agent G nabbing the visor away.
Red grabs and drags Danny away from the, starting to get too close for comfort, crowd. Maddie scurrying after and grabbing onto his other wrist, jerking the two teens to a stop. Danny looks back and forth between the two huntresses yanking on his arms and sighs. While agent G shouts at Danny, “you! Not a ghost but you’re freaking leaking ectoenergy! You might as well be! And-and you’re wearing ghost clothing! Ghost items! No human should stoop so low as to be anything like those ghost freaks!”. Both agents start stalking towards him, while Danny glares at them over the petty insults before yanking his wrists free of their respective gripping ladies.
Danny backflips over top of Red. With Kwan, the one now wearing the visor after punching agent L, easily seeing Danny’s cape billowing and flapping in the air. While the GIW agents stalk after Danny aggressively, agent L glaring at the jock but ignoring him in favour of harassing the ghostly teen.
Red spins around, “Danny what?!?”, as Danny lands softly behind her. While agent L snaps, twitching the ectogun in his hand, “trying to hide behind a proper human! A ghost hunter at that! You’re worse than ectofilth! A human donning the clothing of monsters!”. Agent G points at him, “you’re probably why there’s latent ectoplasm here! Or it’s the fault of those ecto-artifacts! Relinquish them! Or we will shoot you! And we won’t feel bad about shooting some human who lowers themselves to that of those ectoplasmic entities!”.
Now Danny’s just flat-out annoyed, verging on angry. Making his ectofield pulse aggressively and threateningly; which Maddie, having easily re-obtained the visor from Kwan, flinches at. Not liking seeing her son be anything close to ghostly. Knowing he was highly ectocontaminated was one thing, this was another. Clearly the agents weren’t really wrong, her boy was ghostly. But even still, she’s not about to tolerate anyone berating or threatening her son. Maddie turns and snaps at the men, “you will leave my son alone! I’m sure there’s a reasonable explanation for this”, turning back towards Danny, “right sweetie?”.
Red twitches slightly, “uh yeah Danny, care to explain all of”, gesturing at the air above his head and around his shoulders, “this?”.
Agent L barks, “we said remove your ghostly possession now!”. Agent G speaks up as-well while taking a step forward, ectogun creaking in his hands, “and please, mam, step away from him”. Danny groans, wanting everyone to shut up.
He doesn’t get his wish as Red snaps her head around, “oh shut up, I trust him more and faster than I could shoot the both of you. Which is damn fast by the way”.
“There’s nothing lowly about me. No, I’m better for this”, Danny sighs, steeling himself, before looking up and smirking. Placing a hand on his hip and moving in a way to drag his cape over half of himself, the white flames of the collar licking energetically at his chin and cheek. It still being invisible making the mildly threatening effect lost, but it makes Danny feel more powerful all the same, “no, I’m just right. And no I won’t be “relinquishing” anything. Not like I actually could anyway”.
Danny puts his hands in his pockets and rocks on his heels, looking around with a goofy grin. Officially deciding he’s gotta pretty well open up here, cause, like, everyone has seen his shit now. Smirking and turning back to the men, who still have their guns point towards him, “even offing me ain’t gonna make these babies fuck off. Naw, you’d have to double kill me. Make a ghost of the ghost of the person, ya know?”, tapping his chin, “ghostify me to de-ghostify me? Ghost the ghost to ghost the not ghost. Sorta. Words are a wonderful thing, huh?”.
“Danny get to the point for fucks sake”.
“Sweetie, what do you mean you can’t take it off? Surely you could and that would solve part of the issue, right? That stuff’s what’s making the ectofield and shedding ectoenergy, right?”. Danny can’t help but inwardly cringe at Maddie’s words. But it was a damn good cover story, and the crown really did have its own ectofield so it wasn’t even lying.
Sighing and slumping before straightening up, clearly seeing everyone paying acute attention to him, “you’re not wrong, nor are those moronic agents. But y’all are also not right”, Danny then mutters to himself, “I mean they’re straight fucking wrong about the pissing on ghosts crap, but that’s not really new information”, before looking to his mom. Smiling softly, “we’re not here cause of my accessories. Me removing it, if that was even possible, would achieve nothing. No, we’re here cause two idiots dumped fucking pixie dust meant to send ghostly lairs to the Ghost Zone, onto a ghostly lair. This place was a lair long before I got any of this stuff, my stuff is not at fault. It never was”.
“Bullshit! I said before! Ghosts can’t have earth lairs! They ca-”. Danny cuts the agent off, tilting his head back and groaning loudly at the sky, “oh would you shut up!”. Snapping his head back down, forcibly keeping his angry ectoenergy out of his eyes as he responds, “I would have thought, after all these years. All ‘o y’all would have realised you’re useless twats. You can’t tell the difference between ghost fact and ghost I-believe-this-cause-I’m-a-bigoted-moron. A ghost could take a piss on your front lawn and you’d think they were bleeding or part dog or some shit”.
Paulina, wearing the visor now, whimpers a little, “even the air energy thingy looks angry.
While Danny steps out from around Red with an intense gaze on the two agents, hair fluffing out like some anime bullshit, “but there’s one thing you guys do get right about lairs. If you wanna destroy a lair, or, in this case, make a place no longer a lair. Well, you’ve gotta destroy its keeper. Little late to do that though, since y’all already zapped us into the Ghost Zone, like crappy teleportation lightening. And somehow, I doubt that even if lightning struck twice, that it would send Amity back to the Human Realm”.
Both the men raise their weapons at him but Danny just shrugs, glaring at their faces and paying the weapons no mind, which is a bit disconcerting to the men, “so you’re kind of in a catch twenty-two, kill the lair keeper to rid Amity Park of its ghostliness but thusly making it impossible for Amity to return to the Earth Realm. Or get Amity Park back to the Earth Realm but thusly failing in your mission to rid Amity Park of ghosts and all things ghostly”. Both men grit their teeth at him while Danny just laughs mockingly, “but then again only one of these two options are actually options. Two things impossible to you but only one with any real possibility. Possible impossibility. Sorry not sorry, you can’t destroy this lairs keeper”.
Dash sputters, “what the hell happened to Fentripod, how could that weak loser seem even slightly threatening...”. Earning nervous nods from both Paulina, who’s clinging to Dash’s arm, and Kwan, who’s more in awe than startled.
While Danny walks up to the men, letting their guns push into his chest, chuckling darkly, “even white suit scum like you will hesitate pulling the trigger on a seventeen-year-old human kid”, smirking as multiple people gasp, “you're right, no ghosts got a Human Realm lair. No. But a human certainly does. Heck! Amity Park isn’t even the only human Ghostly Lair. Though-”. Maddie cuts Danny off, starting to become a bit put off by his unusual aggressiveness, even if it’s thickly laced with mocking humour, “Danny what are you saying?!? I’m the leading scientist on these matters, that shouldn’t be possible?”.
Danny’d like to get to actually finish speaking for a change but doesn’t get to respond as he picks up motion from the agents, motion aiming to harm him. Danny quickly twists and leans sideways, avoiding an ectoshot from agent L, before springing backwards. Maddie turns on the agent, “WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING”, before punching him in the face.
Danny whistles and smirks at the downed agent. While agent G gets his gun right into Danny’s face, and just as agent G goes to shoot. Danny thoroughly confuses the agent by smirking, “you’re wasting your time”, before agent G fires the gun.
Ok, im just imagining a barely started healing Danny having to leave the house for some reason, when one of his healing/ regrowing organs starts feeling really itchy.
He doesn't even think about how he's not in Amity anymore and just pulls up his shirt to stuff his hand inside and scratch at the itch.
Dash also doesn't think about how this isn't Amity, and Danny is in a mostly human form - he's more concerned about infection from a dirty hand. Danny is still on painkillers from Ivy, and so is a little loopy - "Fine, then! I'll just take it out and wash it when we get home!"
Dp x Dc prompt #?????
Dash was sitting in class when he got sent a text message from one Daniel Fenton. 715xx. The exact date of when him and Danny had started dating, and the emergency code that meant someone had found out about him being phantom, and he needed and immediate evac. Dash grabbed his phone and keys and ran out of class, Mr.Lancer and his friends yelling at him to come back, but they didn’t know what was going on, they didn’t understand.
Dash runs into Danny’s house and sees a glowing green strain of blood streaked down the hallway towards the basement. Dash runs over and throws the door open, practically jumping down the stairs with a yell of his boyfriends name on his mouth when he stopped dead in his tracks. In front of him was Phantom, leaned against a wall with glazed eyes, a large Y scar carved in his chest- but no other Fenton anywhere to be found.
Dash raced over and kneeled down, placing kisses all over his boyfriends face, telling him everything will be okay, he’s got you Danny, you’re safe now. Dash hastily wiped away his tears and shakily grabbed the needle with glowing green thread and sloppily sewing up Danny with one hand, the other tucking Danny’s head to his shoulder, not caring about the dead silent crying, though dash’s wasn’t nearly as silent. Dash finished and tried to ask about the Other Fentons- if they did this to him- but all Danny could do was shake his head no. Danny used the smeared blood on his fingers to write out “G i W” on the floor. Dash quietly asked if his boyfriends parents were working with them. A head shake… if, if his parents were trapped too? A slow nod.
Okay, okay dash can work with this. He’s worked with worse, like when he bruised his rib during the playoffs and still played anyways because he needed that scholarship. He can do this. Dash took a deep breath and slid his hands under Danny’s legs and his back, tucking his head to his chest again and letting Danny listen to his heart.. He used the emergency lockdown code Danny gave him for the portal and ran back up the stairs, sliding his now unconscious boyfriend into the passenger seat and sitting in the driver side. He took a deep breath and started the car. The one place he knows he can hide from with practiced ease, with absolute confidence of safety and security, his aunt Harley’s down in Gotham.
