///So im putting this under a readmore for the new DP novel spoilers. feel free to click if you don't care abt being spoiled for that.

firstly, i absolutely adored the graphic novel. i'd definitely recommend it and I hope we get more in the future. unfortunately, it does hinge on the events of the last episode, Phantom Planet. Which i refuse to add into any of my canon ever. But it works with what Hartman left us with and fixes as much as it can. the only main issue i have with it is that i dont really like the idea that Danny could just """lose""" his powers. For any reason. They feel way to biological and tied to who he is as a character. But hey, it's really the only true problem i have with it, everything else far and above outweighs that in how well executed it was. Maybe I could twist my canon to be that he loses control of his abilities when he loses his sense of purpose or self, instead. That feels like a better compromise in regards to how i would interpret that into my blog without disregarding it entirely. I would also apply this to my canon for vlad and Dani. I've already spoken to my SO who is going to play Vlad for me as to how we would include the confrontation with Dan/Dark Danny despite him not having been exiled. And as a result Vlad has both Dan and Dani to take care of.

He was starting to realize something as she spoke to him, something that he felt a little silly about not picking up sooner. Phantom even felt a little embarrassed. A slight tint of glowing green color stained his face. She wasn't a human, was she? It would explain some things, like her comment about her age. She didn't really look old or anything. But he wasn't entirely certain. He knew ghosts better than other monsters after all.

Danny's attention shifted to her question before he could voice his own. "Oh... Well..." His gaze fell on the food in front of him, clearly not too happy about the answer he was about to give Rokshana.

"I've... been mostly staying in the sewers. Not many people down there to freak out... you know?" He had snuck a shower at a public pool and gym after hours last night, but he was aware that could only help so much. Hopefully he didn't smell too bad, considering he never really touched the water down there either way.

Phantom wasn’t so sure he’d be okay with calling the nice lady, ‘Mama’. Even if she did remind him of his mother in some ways. Thinking about it too much though, wasn’t good for him. Phantom missed his family, even if they were embarrassing to be around. It might feel too much like replacing them to use words meant for any of them, for other people.

However, he gave some thought to her question. Nobody here really knew him and again, he had nothing here. It probably would be okay to use his actual name. It wouldn’t be strange for a ghost to have a real name anyway.

“Most people call me ‘Phantom’. But my name’s 'Danny’, if you want to use that instead.”

Without hesitation, he popped some of the food into his mouth and began to eat, appreciating a real meal for once in a long while. He made sure not to talk with his mouth full when speaking to Rokshana even if he was eager to keep eating.

///i did get SOME writing in my drafts partially done. cleaned some old stuff out. and im still working on things tonight. but im also extremely excited for the 'A Glitch in Time' graphic novel to finally get here. on top of that i have 2 different family related parties to go to tomorrow, so I'm a tad bit anxious.

open the floodgates

your frustration turns into tears quickly. the strength of your fury is so potent that it sets off the waterworks out of pure rage. you hate it, because whoever's pissed you off thinks it's funny, like you're not tough and you can't defend yourself. you can, you just need to get through the haze of emotions first.
