”Skybound ruined Jaya for me” Skill issue.

Skybound came out almost nine real life years ago#the writing and characters have changed a lot since then so obviously so has their relationship#2. Skybound has literally some of the worst character writing in the entire show#it includes characterization that was not seen before that point and has never been seen again#And was just a bad outing for literally everyone in involved#3. It didn’t happen#I know that Jay and Nya remember it#but canonically it literally didn’t happen and effects nothing going forward except for that one nod in the WildBrain era#TLDR; basing your entire view on the ship on one incredibly bad season that doesn’t effect anything in the rest of the show#is kinda dumb#(I know I said I was keeping it brief but!) ALSO there were other much worse pairings with the same issues in television at this time#I don’t want to heart shit about how Jay is an obsessive creep unless y’all have seen the shitshow that was tmnt 2012 apriltello#because that was a nightmare that made every character involved infinitely worse#Like Donnie in the first few seasons is literally what people say Jay is like in Skybound#which sucks cause he’s my favorite character and when April is not in the room he’s fantastic#anyway#captains log

idk if it's because my mum worked in a tv magazine or what but all the media wars and backstabbing and stuff happening behind the cameras is so so interesting to me
#just saw what happened yesterday in la revuelta ojalá se muera el enano pelirrojo#so for non-spaniards here's a crash course on the situation (i could do a post about media groups in spain cause it's a lot)#there's this one late night show that's been on air for about 15 years called el hormiguero#it started fine (i used to watch it with my family when it started)#but soon there were some issues that people were seeing#especially concerning the presenter (who's also the head ofthe show) pablo motos#and his attitude with female guests he'd interview#basically being very weird and gross around them#apart from that in the last year he started to get very political in the show#he invited right and far right leaders while refusing to do so with the left wing#started making monologues at the beginning of each show critizising stuff the left had done or said#and finally included a debate segment in the show in which he invited liked-minded people to discuss politics#this has directly affected his audience. my dad is a fan of el hormoguero and i've seen him turn more right wing every year#so. last summer RTVE (national broadcast company) announced they were gonna do a late night show presented by david broncano#it's hard to describe everything here but basically broncano already had a late show called la resistencia in a streaming platform#it has always been very popular with young people and it is quite left wing#the new program made by RTVE was called la revuelta. it is exactly the same as la resistencia#before it started airing people were sceptic that broncano would be able to defeat motos' hegemony#BUT. ever since it started aiting in september it has consistently been getting more audience than el hormiguero#who would've known people were tired of the redhead bastard#anyways. apart from this. different celebrities on ppdcasts have been saying that in order to promote their product they are forced to go#to el hormiguero even of they didn't want to#there's also rumours of pablo motos blackmailing people (mostly comedians) who make fun of him#and now to what happened last night. i don't watch tv so i just saw it on twitter#broncano opened the show saying that they were sorty but they had no guest tonight#they had this one person but 30 minutes before shooting the people from el hormiguero had called him#he was originally going to go both to la revuelta and el hormiguero#but the guys from el hormiguero called him to tell him that if he went to la revuelta he couldn't go to el hormiguero#el hormiguero is bigger than la revuelta so. he had to cancel#broncano went on to say this had happened before and that's why he was talking about it

honestly hugely funny of Gangnam B-Side to get Ji Changwook on a drama in his incredibly specific niche (fight choreo that looks painful, covered in blood 94% of the time) and give his character absolutely zero plot relevance whatsoever. 10/10

#Monkie Kid#lego monkie kid#tagging LMK cause i do think it uses this part of him#to add in events while still having him remain in Character#like of course Azure and the others convinced him to not be afraid and take on heaven#before heaven's army could arrive on his doorstep and force him to fight like in the books#like. he got kicked out of school because the other students encouraged him to show off#this is one hundred percent in character for him#if he got a single compliment he'd go along with whatever that person said when he was young#which is also part of how the Gold Star of Venus convinced him to get a job in Heaven#which Wukong was originally uninterested in#the fight against heaven + the mountain jaded him which made him more easily angered#(yknow. like a reasonable response to trauma)#but EVEN STILL during the Journey HE'S STILL A PEOPLE PLEASER#and then by the time of LMK he's mellowed out more which MAKES SENSE.#i could do a whole entire more formally written analysis about this but this is what i've got#brain cannot brain any more than this#anyways obligatory my opinions are my own and i respect anyone who disagrees with me tag#anyone who has another opinion is wonderful and valid but these are my thoughts

#Takashi Shirogane#Shiro#You're nothingness but shining and everywhere at once.#Allura#The Silver-Haired Princess and Her Silver-Haired Paladin.#Voltron: Legendary Defender#Mine.#I have so many many many thoughts regarding these two.#How both of them were directly victimized by the Galra Empire#and Zarkon#himself#and find themselves in positions of leadership at the forefront of an intergalactic war despite the fact that Allura is a teenaged genocide#survivor who still misses her father and Shiro is a deeply scarred and traumatized pilot-turned-gladiator-against-his-will and neither one#of them have had the space or time to process either of these things.#How differently they handle the immense grief the Galra have caused them.#And that even though they find themselves diametrically opposed to each other's beliefs concerning Ulaz and the Blades they still trust#one another implicitly.#That Shiro looks so much like Alfor it's actually crazy.#How Allura unknowingly made Shiro relive the trauma of losing his crew when she allowed herself to be captured because they're both#inherently self-sacrificing and all-too willing to martyr themselves for the sake of others.#Allura carrying Shiro's essence inside of her before magically transferring it into the clone's body#and how it not only bleached Shiro's hair but is implied to have altered his DNA given his later interactions with the Balmeran crystals#used to power his arm and the Atlas.#That the new arm was Allura's idea and she willingly sacrificed a piece of her heritage for it and for Shiro.#The way they play off of each other when given a moment of levity and all of the potential that was wasted because the writing on this show#is an unbelievably frustrating mess.#In a perfect world where the notorious Season Eight doesn't exist or was competently handled#Shiro is part of Allura's bridal party and the godfather of her and Lance's children.#And he never attempts to dye or change his hair because he loves having a reminder of everything that Allura has done for him and their#importance to and connection with each other readily apparent every time he sees himself in the mirror.

#somehow by making Devi fuck Satoru Gojo I made the best possible color combination for an OC#quick lore behind the art: as I said before Sappho inherited both Six Eyes and Limitless but her cursed energy control sucks#but in an attempt to help her in some way Devi found out that Sappho has a natural talent to control the Tianlong authority#something no other child of Devi's had#(except Alasis who is a pure-blooded Tianlong and technically has no blood relation to Devi)#so Sappho incorporated these powers into her kit to support her cursed techniques#as she didn't want to stray away from her path of the young prodigy of the Gojo clan#(self-imposed cause she didn't want to upset her father; spoiler: he didn't care that much)#but she did learn one Tianlong art when she saw Devi embroidering a new timeline and proceeded to make it her entire personality#(we stan)#so she now sews everything#you got a wound? here you go. the dress ripped? one sec and done. the fabric of reality tears apart? i got this!#uh-oh um i think i messed up somewhere. uh it looks worse than before um. just remembered i had the craziest dream about that old man…like INCREDIBLY weird and sad. it’s telling me i gotta stop thinking about that sad arc peepaw went down in the early 00’s or else i’ll be haunted by dreams of things that definitely didn’t happen. like, does that era interest me for some stupid reason and i kinda wish i knew more about that time? absolutely im not going to lie and say i don’t…but that dream is probably telling me its for the best that i don’t know. and that’s probably why we’re never getting that book, cause there’s no way he wants to relive all that either way.
