this comes as a surprise to no one, but the third live action movie was not greenlit 😔

Age must be so fucking annoying in the monster high universe. Like you’ve got monsters who age like humans so, then there’s monsters like vampires and mummy’s who are like 4000 years old but still look and act 16. There’s some undead monsters who are permanently stuck the age they died. There’s monsters like Frankie who were MADE to be a certain age like 16 but have only actually been alive and breathing like 5 days.

So how is age measured in universe? I’d assume it would be based on someone’s mental age, like their mental development (if they can understand the world around them, if they can consent, if they can handle adult responsibilities etc) rather then their physical one. Bc again you’ve got 1000 year old vampires that are still bodily 16.

Like is there a test you have to take? A medical procedure? Is each species studied enough to know when in that species life they become a consenting adult who can drink alcohol and drive and stuff?

And life for the monsters who don’t bodily age must be a blessing and a curse. Like yay! Young and beautiful forever, none of the problems that come with getting old! But you just KNOW there’d be some creeps who go after the monsters who are bodily young but mentally an adult for the wrong reasons.

TLDR give me an official outline on how age works in the monster high universe please because there’s no way it can be simply just the number of years you’ve been around.

I'm watching the monster high life action movies because I wanted something to hate on while in my mood but like, they're actually really good? They're cheering me up a lot and reminded me of G1 a lot, which I watched as a kid and still rewatch often today. I wish that Ever After High would make a comeback as well and the two could crossover again.

Also, could I ask anybody who knows if the animated series is part of the same canon as the two movies? They look a lot different, so I'm not sure.

I like the live action MH movies because they don’t shy away from his WHACK the monster high universe canonically is. Like at no point as the MH universe ever made sense. Like how the fuck do you determine a monsters age when some stay bodily the age they died/were created? Even after 1000s of years they still look and act 16. The Greek gods are canonically real, CA Cupid is Eros daughter. Deuce is Medusas son. But River Styx is the daughter of ‘the grim reaper’ which one? Thanatos? Charon? Hades? A non Greek myth god? The Egyptian myth magic exist too because mummies exist and are undead and walking around. In G3 witchcraft is seen as a human thing, a type of magic. But monsters ARE magic, some of them anyway. So they only look down on it because it’s a magic that doesn’t come from monsters.

Monster high has NEVER made any sense, and the live action movies acknowledge that and just come up with the wildest campy ass stories and it STILL canonically fits into the MH universe. Like yeah, of course the grim reaper would have it out for Frankie because they defy the laws of life and death, sure makes sense. It’s absolutely wild but it’s still technically canon compliant.

Valentine is actually really good at painting. He loves oil paints and he paints delicate, calm landscapes. He hides them in a room in his house where his mother doesn’t go.
