how long does it take you to draw your sketches/doodles? also do you have any tips to draw faster? 🙇‍♀️

I generally take 30 - 60 minutes a sketch,,,, but honestly really depends on how detailed it is.

Like a Chibi will be done in 20 - 25 minutes (Counting in the extra time I spend on minute details like a perfectionist 😭)

I for some reason really like spending egregious amounts of time on random objects too??? Unless it’s the in the background, I’ll spend 40 minutes refining it.

Random characters that are fully colored and rendered with take like 80 minutes.

The comics take usually take an hour or two per page. (If I decide to cross hatch it, my entire day will be gone with 4 pages… so I’ve been trying to find shortcuts. But not without sacrificing the quality for time lol)

I don’t think there’s any trick or magic to drawing faster. It’s really about weaponizing your artistic knowledge, and finding what’s comfortable or convenient for you!

There was a period of time where I would spend 11 or 12 hours on an illustration, and it wASS UGLYYYYY. (Some of these artworks are still available on my tumblr,,, but it’s SO LONG AGO, AND IT WAS MY 1ST OR 2ND YEAR GETTING INTO DIGITAL ART)

Overtime I learned what worked best for me, and practiced till I felt more comfortable with what I was drawing. Eventually I managed to shorten the time to 4 hours or less! Ambition was my biggest enemy but at the same time my biggest motivator. (And it still is LMFAO) 😭

EDIT (bit more to my way too long tangent): ALSO??? BRO DON’T BE AFRAID TO USE YOUR MESSY SKETCH AS LINEART OR DRAW ON TOP OF IT. I’VE DONE IT FOR YEARS NOW AND IT ADDS SUCH A GOOD EXTRA BIT OF TEXTURE,, AT THIS POINT I DON’T EVEN USE LINE-ART ANY MORE UNLESS IT’S A COMMISSION,, (IT’LL ADD LIKE AN 2-4 HOURS TO MY WORK)

this beautiful idiot went to live with someone else and honestly, both of our QOL are much better HAHA

#she just could not vibe with a house full of other animals #her anxiety manifested in insatiably eating everything #not just food #cardboard plastic you name it #i had to lock cupboards and put books on the bin so she couldnt open it and rummage through it #she screamed for food constantly #she innappropriately toileted constantly #to the point where i bought two automatic litter trays so they were always spotless in case that was the issue #she was medicated and given daily enrichment #but nope #anyway after over a year of kind of hating our life together #i bit the bullet and rehomed her #her food obsession has disappered and besides peeing on their bathmat once #she has used the litter tray without issue #we make a commitment to our pets yall #but do not force yourself to keep them if you are both miserable #i wish i was brave enough to have done this sooner #anyway #rehoming is not the devil #and you can do it responsibly #bye ferg i'm sorry to say i don't miss you #but i'm so glad you're finally happy #fergie #the cat edition

Okay so I tell myself that I am not a morning person, that I have to have time to sit, drink my tea and wake up for 30ish minutes before I can start my day. While this is in fact true.

Another fact is that Rebel demands her morning lap time each morning and I love it. Soon as either of us get up she is chirping and meowing until we sit down and she immediately is in our laps purring.

A+ cat behavior. I must get up early enough for Rebel to get her cuddles.

finally had a someWhat normal dream I was at my frien'ds old apartment with my old shihtzu bijou He was kind of acting foolish i cant remember the details cus i fell asleep again after. But as i was sitting on the bed watching tokyo mew mew (kish & ichigo scene) This big black & white cat came over to me it Sat on my lap and i was SO touched/honored/in awe that it trusted me enough to sit on me. My friend was glueing together a bouquet of red roses Made of paper and asked if i wanted to go to their neighbors apartment for a Valentines day dinner. I did not want to go because i wanted to stay with the cat watching TMM. But i felt awkward saying no.

Got a new Litter-Robot that has an app with an activity feed, and apparently my cats keep interrupting the cleaning cycle to stick their heads into the toilet to go "OwO what's this???"

#Sunny Life #it automatically stops the cycling process if a cat tries to step into the litter box which is an important safety feature #but it is very funny that a cycle that should take like 2 minutes actually take a whole 8 minutes bc the cats keep going back in there #should get a pic of them just standing there with their head inside the toilet lmao it's adorable #not actually sure WHY they're so fascinated with this one bc they've been using a v similar one for over 6 years now #the old one hasn't been working right for a while and then it just stopped working all together rip #it's been a real lifesaver as a disabled cat parent so there wasn't really a question whether to get a new one or not

Shoutout to O’Malley who is the first cat I’ve ever had to be such a clean freak that he doesn’t have frito-smelling toe beans

#I used to wash my other cats feet’s when they got smelling like Fritos #I wouldn’t wash the WHOLE cat because I know that’s not great for them unless they are specific breeds or got egregiously dirty #like when Alcibiades fell in the toilet #bath time #but yeah I’d wash those nasty dirty paws #O’Malley has never once had frito feets #Tbf he’s also a bit neurotic and maybe it’s a bad sign that he’s so fastidious #he definitely has an anxiety disorder #but he’s clean as hell #I need to get those pheromone sprays again I feel like that helped his anxiety #I used them when he was in a multi cat household and he gets so stressed around other cats #humans no problem he wants to meet and be pet by every human on earth #cats freak him out #he’s been much calmer as an only cat but there’s still clear mental illness lol #some relaxation pheromones aren’t out of the question here

I’m always so fascinated by people’s bad roommate stories. I’m not sure I’ll ever live with someone I haven’t vetted extensively beforehand ever again

#every living situation where i’ve been assigned roommates randomly; i always seem to get one person who is an absolute angel #and 1-2 people who are honestly fucked up #i lived in halls 1 year of undergrad and everyone was kind of equally insane. honestly no one stood out as particularly bad #because everyone was just constantly screaming. i dealt with it by going home most weekends and getting noise cancelling headphones #3rd year of undergrad i lived in a suite which.. honestly was basically an apartment. had a living room/kitchenette; a toilet; a shower room #and 4 bedrooms #one of my roommates i’m still friends with to this day but honestly they were and are kind of a ridiculous person #like they were actively dealing drugs most of the year and their boyfriend was around most of the time and they would bone LOUDLY #and that’s the good roommate. so you can imagine the other two #one of the others.. honestly wasn’t a bad roommate; she was helpful and clean and civil #she was loud as hell though. she used to have attacks of insomnia and decide to rearrange her furniture at 3 in the morning #and we shared a wall. she also had an illegal pet rabbit.#our personalities just didn’t mesh well; like it became clear pretty fast that we were going to spend as little time together as possible #third roommate was loud; rude; annoying and gross. she’d be calling people at 7am just to yell down the phone to them about her problems #i was like who is picking up the phone to this bitch. she also picked up on my homosexual vibes in that way that homophobic straight girls #always seem to have; and was convinced i had a crush on her. and she bought a betta fish (allowed according to dorm rules) and then it died #because she didn’t want to take care of it properly. and she refused to do anything for herself #like she was always breaking shit and leaving it because she didn’t want to email or call maintenance. so then i’d have to do it #because it was always something we specifically shared. like a set of shelves she put a fucking 5lb shampoo bottle on. twice.#in grad school it was almost the same thing. one angel roommate who was kind of messy but otherwise fantastic #she rolled the best joints i have ever seen. and i still miss her cat cali #it was the men that were the problem. one was an international student who left after a month and bothered nobody #like to the point i didn’t notice when he moved out because he was so innocuous #the other two though….. so one of them started hooking up with my favourite roommate and immediately became SUPER annoying #the other one stole shit; left lights on all the time; left fridge and cupboard and freezer doors open; tried to guilt trip me #into giving him my weed; played mariah carey at 2am; never bought a single cleaning product or household item for the collective #unless you told him to…… he was even using my toothpaste at one point. like. sir.#oh and he was always dirtying other people’s dishes and cookware and leaving them in the sink for days. and leaving big chunks of food #in the sink. it was fucking gross #personal
