It keeps on hitting me just how much we could’ve had of Lane and Dave through the seasons that we never did.

Like creative differences in the band and balancing couple conflicts with band conflicts. Lane meeting Dave’s family and interacting with them. The two of them fighting for each other and for the band to make it, no matter what «making it» looked like. Even genuinely tackling long distance if they truly wanted Dave to go off to study for a while.

Flirtations, jokes, music nerdy rants, making time for each other, writing each other songs, cute dates and loving touches in the background. They were never supposed to be a front and centre couple, but what a supporting cast couple they not only were but could have been

It's basically what I call Team Black fans, because their whole justification for feeling morally superior is that they support Rhaenyra, the female claimant in the Dance. And yes, Rhaenyra's usurpation is steeped in misogyny, it is predicated on that favoritism towards male-dominated primogeniture in Westeros and the disbelief in the ability of a woman to rule at all, let alone her specifically, that's undeniable and a big part of the story as a whole and her arc specifically in the show. But it's hard for me to view fans supporting Rhaenyra for fictional queen as an inherently feminist act when that apparently also means absolutely no appreciation for any other female characters (they despise Alicent for having the audacity to be a forced child bride, and they clearly don't care about Laena at all) and uncritical support for Daemon the Rogue Literal Pedophile. And it's certainly not very Feminist to take your issues with fictional characters and start harassing actual real women, calling Olivia horrible names not just in general but also to her face, making fun of Phia Saban's looks under the guise of mocking Helaena (another female character they dislike because she's not Rhaenyra), being so nasty about the child actress playing Jaehaera that she had to be recast when her mom pulled her from production, saying vile shit about Sara Hess because you don't approve of her creative decisions, saying that Olivia was having an affair with Ryan Condal to get Alicent more screentime, and in general being incredibly nasty towards female Team Green/Alicent fans (and my personal favorite, implying that queer fans of Olivia Cooke aren't actually queer and just being performative, because what's more feminist than denying women's sexualities just to seem cool on Twitter dot com?). Like, pardon me but your feminism isn't really feminism, it's a performative activism where you claim that, because you support one female fictional character's claim to a fictional throne, you're a feminist and then proceed to be incredibly anti-feminist and misogynistic in your actual actions in your actual life against actual women.

So it's mostly just an irony/mockery thing from me, given that members of Team Feminism seem to be the most anti-feminist and in general anti-woman people in this entire family, except for when they decide they want Rhaenyra to win and say they like two character traits of her's (cuz it's not like they see Rhaenyra as a full character either, but shrug dot emoji).

cast iron controversy

I realized while cooking dinner tonight that obviously in the descendants universe there’s a food trend of cooking things in tiny cast iron ramekins. Like these:

and Jane has to make a whole post about how she’s not IGNORING the tiny cast iron cheesecake trend, she just CANT participate because her boyfriend’s boyfriend’s girlfriend has fairy blood, and she can’t make them if the whole polycule can’t partake, and fairies can’t touch iron without being burnt, so actually stop asking guys, she’s not going to do it. The comments section on the post gets nasty. There’s one long time reader who’s trying to defend Jane and insisting that asking her to make a trendy recipe that her metamour can’t eat is actually discrimination against people with fairy blood, and another longtime reader arguing just as passionately that her great-grandfather was a full-blooded fairy and SHE can eat from cast iron just fine, so there’s really no reason why having a girlfriend-once-removed with fairy blood excuses the author from providing her loyal readers with a cute trendy dessert for their next social gathering!!

A third reader points out that actually, those with fairy blood can eat from cast iron just fine, so long as the food isn’t too acidic and they don’t touch the dish while they’re eating. Remember forks, guys?? The things that we use because eating with your hands is gross??

Jane almost hires one of the younger isle kids (who are DEEPLY invested in the drama) to moderate her comment section, until she realizes that letting Celia and Dizzy moderate is only going to make things SO much worse.

And that’s not even touching the great enameled cast iron debate that broke out after LoyalReader259 linked to a fairyzon listing for the cutest set of blue enameled cast iron ramekins.

(For the record, Jane is a fairy on both her parents’ sides, and she’s not making anything in cast iron because she doesn’t want to bake in gloves just for a trend. Mal could care less what dishware Jane brings to her bridal shower, she’ll wear full leather safety gear if it means she gets to eat cheesecake)

i feel thst Christopher moving back to Texas is possibly the foundation for a Ryan Guzman exit. Christopher probably becomes comfortable in Texas and Eddie, the way he loves his son, will make the decision to go where he is. Maybe Ryan goes to Lone Star. Maybe he doesn't. But it will seal the coffin on Buddie for good, force all fans to accept BuckTommy, open the door the the new power couple, and set up Tim's boost of Tommy's character and Lou's more prominent place in the cast. I can actually see if 911 gets a season 9 and beyond, Lou being pushed to the front. With Ryan gone, and as Buck's partner, Lou could easily jump over every other member of the cast to become the second main focus. I think Buck will remain the primary focus in the foreseeable future,because he is a fan favorite. However, if the Lou fandom continues surging, even Oliver could find himself playing second fiddle.

I really doubt it my guy. First of all why would Ryan Guzman want to leave his extremely cushy job as a series regular at a top-rated show to go to a WORSE rated show at a WORSE network where he would be at best a recurring player. (Also can we talk about how El Paso and Austin are UHHH 600 miles away from each other???).

There is nothing to indicate that they are trying to do any of this. Honestly I don't even know that LFJ has that big a fandom at this point like. I think you are just making things up to be pissed off about. If that's enriching for you, then great! Go do it somewhere else though!
