percy doing better than annabeth in college is one my favorite developments in the rrverse. if we reflect on percy and annabeth's academic upbringing. annabeth living at camp allowed her to receive accommodations for her adhd and dyslexia and surround herself with like-minded campers who had the same limitations. whereas percy was ridiculed, belittled, and routinely humiliated because of his adhd and dyslexia. even more so, percy's friends and family leave him out of the loop on so many important issue (no chb orientation film, no information about the great prophecy) which perpetuates his subpar confidence and self-esteem in his skills as a student and a demigod. but going to college at NRU changes his mindset because he receives the accommodations he should have gotten years ago and fucking thrives to the point of getting higher grades than annabeth — a person he deems way smarter and more prepared than him in every way. the most important thing percy is learning now is that a supportive environment makes all the difference, and he is more capable than he initially thought.

I don’t think a lot of saw fans realize how insanely stacked Amanda canonically is. Like that chick learned how to build huge death machines in a 5-6 month timespan, taught herself extensive amounts of medical information to help her mentor with terminal brain cancer, and did most of it while quitting a long-standing addiction.
She’s canonically better at engineering than Hoffman, who literally built the pendulum trap from scratch, and knows medical jargon Lynn throws around off the top of her head. She’s rlly smart! She’s not just the punk rock mean disaster #strongfemalecharacter some of u think she is
Up there with John, strahm and Perez, she’s probably one of the smarter saw characters

Wyll calling his lover his 'star'. Astarion's spawn ending being him adventuring and performing heroics of his own choice. Wyll naming his adopted daughter Lily. The flower Astarion's lover puts on his grave being a lily. Monster hunter turned monster and monster turned hunter. Can nobody hear me

I was asked about the decision re: Zuko's scar (on his arm) in MO, and I thought I would share my response with y'all:
Hello! I thought about the scar a lot, actually. The problem was about the blocking of the scene. In canon, Zuko gets the scar on his face because he begins that scene with his father by going to his knees. The facial scar is representative of the position they were in - Ozai standing in the position of power, Zuko on his knees requesting mercy, mercy being denied.
But I set up a situation in which Zuko would not start on his knees. Standing in front of Ozai is symbolically important to Zuko in-story and also to the narrative itself. So it didn't make sense for the injury to be to the face physically (he wouldn't start in the same position) or symbolically.
The scar being on his arm also creates a different symbol. In MO, the action behind Zuko's injury was Ozai trying to wrest him onto his knees while Zuko was trying to protect 1) himself and 2) the position of sagehood (hence the arm being up, and hence him eventually falling to his knees - he can't protect himself or the temple's status). That's the starting-place of the story when it comes to the Zuko-Ozai relationship.
Also, Zuko's place among the sages is one where he's outwardly uniform to them (with the exception of age). The scar would differentiate him too much from the offset. There are only two non-uniform aspects to his appearance, one chosen (his hair) and one inflicted (his scar). The hair is hidden behind the hat, which has its own complicated symbolism, and which he sheds throughout the story. The scar on his arm is almost hidden, based on the length of sleeves, but is never quite hidden by the uniform. It's symbolic of his rebellion being close to being covered by the uniformality of his sagehood, but never quite hidden.

Most annoying NMJ or JC take is when someone that dislikes them is like "oh you're a fan of him? *scoff* Well obviously you've only seen cql, where he was super watered down. In the novel he's a dislikable asshole and that's the objectively superior canon I'm working from instead of your woobified fanfic." Meanwhile your main canon is novel canon and you genuinely find novel Jiang Cheng and Nie Mingjue complex sympathetic characters.

Hi sorry I'm still talking about Cyberverse, specifically the starscream getting therapy punchline, because yes it is very funny, but it's also a pretty big indicator of how Optimus sees the Decepticons even after countless eons of war.
Optimus witnessed Starscream's unhinged power trip, his resentment for Megatron, his insistence that he had been mistreated and that his rage was righteous, that it was justice, as well as his affection for the scraplets he called his children. Optimus saw all of that and decided that this was a deeply troubled mech, and now that he's in their brig and no longer a threat, the best thing they could possibly do is try to get him help.
Starscream successfully murdered nearly a dozen people and TRIED to murder way more, including Optimus himself, and he STILL thought there was hope for that mech. If that isn't commitment to restorative justice I do not know what is.
