So a couple of posts ago I put up a rather gushing review of the sequel to my favorite anime. x3  Since then, my writing muse has been nonstop flooding my brain with fanfiction ideas, mostly little fluffy romantic thoughts and missing moment stuff featuring Sesshomaru and Rin and their family...and as I take any excuse to grab the fickle and rare jewel that is motivation to write, a small but growing collection of short stories has come to fruition. x3

I wanted to share it here as I share all my fanfics (if not directly, there’s still a link to my FF.net if anyone would like to peruse x3), but as I lurk around the fanworks, I still see a lot of by-now ridiculous hate towards what is a very beautiful (and very canon) love story, that I was hesitant to do so.

Then I thought, “Wait...if I don’t post, that means I’m letting the haters win.

the memory of their features is seared into the backs of your eyelids, burned into your mind. every detail is ingrained into your memory, from the exact shade of their hair to the precise angle of their nose.

you can recite the length and breadth of their form, the height of their stature, the weight of their limbs. you know the number of freckles on their skin, the width of their eyes, the length of their lashes. 

as you continue to slip deeper into your fantasy, you can hear their voice— you can, yes. the tone and timbre of their speech, the inflections in their words. you can recall their laughter, the sound ringing in your ears, the cadence reverberating in your chest.

you can even smell the faint traces of their perfume, the lingering scent of their shampoo, the heady aroma of their soap.

you can taste the kisses you conjure up in your mind, the sweetness of their lips . . or perhaps their saltiness.

they're there, they are real. you can sense them, you can feel them, you can reach out and touch them. and yet, they aren't, and you can't.

does anyone else feel this way, too . . ? does anyone else know what it's like, to have an imaginary companion, an ethereal lover, a spectral mate . . ?

One more thing before I pass out. A little thing to make selfshippers like me happy, this could be either you or your f/o in this little scenario!!

Imagine your romantic f/o tearing up a bit or full on sobbing as they cuddle you into their arms, thinking how lucky and grateful to have you. They haven't felt this kind of simple love in so long or ever, and they're experiencing this with the person they love so much. Warm tears stain the pillow as they look at you, the person that they'll be with for what seems like forever.

Your f/o loves you so much and the fact they haven't experienced this kind of love sooner in their life is criminal to them. You mean so much to them as much as they mean so much to you.
