Oh, you’re from Ontario, Michigan, Wisconsin, or Minnesota? Okay, tell me where the love of God goes when the waves turn the minutes to hours.

Yes! I've been wanting to post about the "new" release from Patrick Flegel's Cindy Lee (Toronto, Canada) project since I learned that "Diamond Jubilee" had been released digitally back in April.
W. 25th (a sub-label of Superior Viaduct) is releasing a behemoth 3 LP version in February. It's up for pre-order now.
This is one of those releases that will take a long time to digest. There are 32 songs. The band is Cindy Lee. You do the math.
I think this sounds like Deerhunter, Animal Collective, Charlie Megira and Tony Jay channeling The Caretaker. But honestly, there is nothing that really sounds like Cindy Lee. "Diamond Jubilee" definitely has a more structured, melodic feel to it compared to earlier releases.

Views of Lake Superior Provincial Park! The top 3 are of Lake Superior itself, all overlooking Old Woman's Bay where there was an incredible (but oh so difficult) hike that overlooked the bay! The last 3 are views of a smaller lake nearby that Trappers Trail goes around, we went for sunrise and had such a beautiful hike. All photos were taken on a Fujifilm Flash disposable camera.

I’ve never read all the Hunger Games books, but I do know that a lot of fanmade maps of Panem divide the districts among American states and label all of Canada “The Wilds” or something similar.
And I just want to know: Was there any canon justification for this, or was this a piece of fanon? Because either way the implications of this are wild. Fascist futuristic military dictatorship Panem does not have the manpower to occupy post-apocalyptic Canada. What’s going on up there

Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver are considered LGBTQ tourism hotspots in Canada, and now two regional organizations are looking to add northwestern Ontario to that list.
Earlier this week, Superior Country and Tourism Thunder Bay announced the completion of a new tourism strategy aimed at making the region a more welcoming and sought-after destination for people in the LGBTQ community.
"This really came about as a way to improve our reputation for being an inclusive destination, which isn't just the ethically right thing to do, but it's also good for business," said Paul Pepe, manager of Tourism Thunder Bay.

I'm going to say something that's probably going to get misinterpreted but it's not because you're black that you can't have US-centric beliefs. It's not just a white person thing. At one point you'll have to acknowledge that there's a multitude of black experiences that don't align with Afro-Americans' or even British black people's, because yes, there are other countries in the world than the USA or the UK.
I see a lot of "very bad takes" on certain issues on this site, for a lack of a better word, and their main issue (beyond the condescending tone they're written in) is their blatant US-centrism, which is particularly irritating when it's coming from people who beg others to "listen to diverse voices" and "educate themselves" while they themselves can't even acknowledge realities outside of North America. Being Afro-American doesn't guarantee you don't have US American mindsets to unlearn.
