Yes! I've been wanting to post about the "new" release from Patrick Flegel's Cindy Lee (Toronto, Canada) project since I learned that "Diamond Jubilee" had been released digitally back in April.

W. 25th (a sub-label of Superior Viaduct) is releasing a behemoth 3 LP version in February. It's up for pre-order now.

This is one of those releases that will take a long time to digest. There are 32 songs. The band is Cindy Lee. You do the math.

I think this sounds like Deerhunter, Animal Collective, Charlie Megira and Tony Jay channeling The Caretaker. But honestly, there is nothing that really sounds like Cindy Lee. "Diamond Jubilee" definitely has a more structured, melodic feel to it compared to earlier releases.

ever wondered what Leon S. Kennedy smells like? well, here are a handful of answers!

NOTE: headcanon whatever you want! this is just for people curious about different Leon scents on the market <3

first, i'll start with the Capcom mini Perfume Collection from RE's 25th Anniversary merch!

i unfortunately do not have this one :( but here's the official description!:

The Leon version is a citrus green, described as "a sharp scent centered on citrus, reminiscent of Leon's calmness and sense of justice. In a refreshing and cool atmosphere, the freshness of water lily and the sweet expression of honey lemon are also fascinating to the gap."

a kind person on reddit also provided a personal review of all of them! here's their take on Leon's:

Citrus. Smells like passionfruit scented aftershave. Fresh, very bright. Like a freshly-showered person with a lingering smell of sweet and fruity soap.

then, there's the Quasar RE4-themed cologne sold by Jesús del Pozo as part of the original Resident Evil 4's releases promo merch.

i actually have the Fae-tal Attractions Perfumery dupe which was created based on these scent notes; here are my thoughts:

Forest-y, with a subdued floral sweetness sweeping in at the end. The base notes stick with you the longest, carrying a very masculine, slightly moody scent. Also... lowkey sexy?

next, Mad Labs Studios' Leon-inspired scent.

here's their (very beautiful!) description:

The interplay of invigorating juniper and succulent fig creates a dynamic and alluring blend, reflecting Leon's charismatic and adventurous demeanor. A heart of supple leather adds a touch of rugged sophistication, echoing his resilience and cool composure. Vanilla, with its warm and comforting presence, embodies the timeless charm that defines Leon.

and i have this one! here's my thoughts:

Sweet, clean, and the touch of leather rounds it out, giving it a touch of maturity. Honestly? Pure comfort. Every time I wear this one I just feel a little better, and I can't help but smile to myself.

lastly (or, until i find more!), Kitselysium's take on the Leon-inspired scent!

they actually provide both a description and the scent notes; first is the description (btw i adore the story aspect of it!):

Top: Geranium, Smoke, Vanilla. Mid: Whisky, Patchouli, Winter Peonies. Bottom: Gunpowder Accord, Black Musk, Oak Moss.

i also have this one, so here are my thoughts:

I think this scent truly paints such a vivid picture of the arc Leon goes through. The whiskey and gunpowder come off strong, but it's rooted in this forest-y sweetness that follows you even as the other scents fade away. This one's also sexy, like pressing your face into the front of Leon's button-up after a more formal day of DSO work.

also, Kitselysium's is sooo pretty, it has this glitter in it that's really lovely to watch if you swirl the bottle :]

between the three that i own, i'm caught between Mad Labs' & Kitselysium's, but i feel that Mad Labs' is more suited to daily/casual wear. i'd love to try out the official 25th one one day, since it sounds right up my alley! i <3 citrus :3
