Doing amazing (the ultimatum that if I do go back then we off ourselves is rendered moot anyhow so why should I care how much it hurts?) Gonna claw things back together not gonna let my foundations get demolished this way ("Irresponsibility's consequences moved onto me instead" is all that that amounted to + why am I only ever useful?) Where is that video of the man running in the mists to the tune of "nothings gonna bring me down nothings gonna break my stride you got to keep on moving" or however it went

I will be forever grateful i can be on this new med. it's one a lot of folks also need and can struggle to have access to! It's important i be on it, especially if i start doing any vid collabs
(some of which, really, all of which, i unfortunately actually need to cancel that were in the preplanning stages, bc the election results have me wanting to wait and see how the general atmosphere of the country is before i agree to meet up with anyone. I feel bad for cancelling, but also i just can't know for sure how safe things are/might be going forward and I'd rather avoid the potential of. ya know. various not great things that could happen at a meet up, tho i would certainly hope they wouldn't. i don't feel like actually addressing them rn, u guys know what i mean)
That said, if the truvada initial side effects could fuck off asap would be so lovely. three weeks at worst, then they should be gone/much better or so i am told. really hope that's true bc losing my mornings to being dizzy and nauseous is Not Working for me lmao. im on week two, and now understand why my new doc said to call if i needed any 'cheerleading' and support to get thru the side effects, bc apparently she's done that for several ppl to make sure they actually make it thru the three weeks and keep on it (lovely of her!!)
#text post#not going to get into the other painful smack of this morning#suffice to say that medicaid does not in fact fully cover vocal therapy/training for trans ppl#even if ur docs feel incredibly certain it is#if i was making a decent bit over minimum wage at consistent hours and already had my current debts paid off mostly#then I'd happily consider paying the chunk Medicaid won't cover but as of now#it would literally be basically two paychecks if not three to cover the estimate for this first visit#and that's only if the poll would have us polling every week like we did before the election#otherwise we're guesstimating it would be upwards of 4 paychecks to cover it#I'm actually gonna get into in here bc nobody reads all my tag essays (fair valid and correct)#im really sad abt this. my voice gets me clocked a lot and while i can mostly handle like. visually being clocked#my voice giving me away genuinely makes me feel a pain in my chest. i can't get my customer service voice to go lower yet#and even if it's my usual voice I've made minimal progress on my own self done vocal study stuff#so like. no one knows how high it was compared to how it is now tho so no one actually hears it as anything near deep#which it isn't but like. there's been a slightly barely there drop of it per at least a couple ppl in my life#i was probably going to be able to learn how to sing again and find my new range. I'd fix my customer service voice#even if it would only ever be a teeny bit lower than how it is now. it would be lovely#im not gonna get too down tho bc someday hopefully I'll be able to make it happen/afford it#and for now...im doing the bad thing of not cancelling the appt yet#i will bc they're booking out for months and it isn't right of me to take a spot i know i can't keep#but. let me pretend i can for another day or two. maybe until monday. then I'll call or msg them on mychart#and let them know i just don't have the funds rn tho i do deeply appreciate that Medicaid at least pays part of it#im just not at a point where i can cover the rest but that I'll reschedule/have a new referral sent whenever that changes#...and hopefully things in this country will be of such a state that such care is still available to ppl like me.#but that's all we're saying on that bc im already having a pathetic little cry over this#(im fine the med side effects have me crying over everything lol i see a sad commercial and Instant Tears like someone died lmaooo)

i have never been more angry about climate change getting to the point that it has than i am right now. i don't remember the last time i moved around without having to very carefully consider how much pain i am in and how much effort it will take me to move from bed to wherever i need to be.
the weather is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT every four to five days or so (40degreeF temp fluxes anyone?) and my body is predicting the changes about four days in advance, getting worse as the front moves in. I have No Fucking Respite from this and I am... very slowly losing my mind about it. it's... it's been at least a few weeks now that it's been back and forth rapidly and i can't fucking MOVE.
I can't sleep, laying down hurts too much. sitting hurts. standing hurts *and* wears me out almost instantly. the otc meds aren't really doing anything anymore and all the weed does is make it so it's not the forefront of my mind (and also makes it so i don't really feel like moving around a whole bunch anyway). i can't think. i can't focus.
and i know i'm not the only one in the household feeling poorly because of the weather - we're a barometric body household, we've got everything: migraines, old injuries, other stuff. and it sucks. it all just sucks a lot and i want the weather to stabilize and because of the fucking melting ice the jetstream is all wonky and that's what's causing the back and forth ESPECIALLY this far up north, and it's absolutely WRECKING my shit.
so if we could get to work on maybe not making climate change worse and even potentially putting some of that ice back on the north pole so that the transition seasons are maybe less fraught with pain, i would be greatly appreciative.

have you watched the pjo show?
I saw the first 2 episodes when they came out at a watch party one of my friends threw, and as soon as they ended I realized I didn't particularly care to keep going. It wasn't like, outrageously bad by any means, I just don't think it gripped me enough to want to continue, and there were enough odd adaptational choices that I thought weakened the story that I lost interest. I might have tuned back in if the changes actually built to something interesting in the later episodes, but from everything I've seen it kinda seems like they just took the teeth out of the story, which was what I was worried about.
That being said, the cast seems really great and well suited to their roles, so like, if they improve the writing and pacing in the later seasons and stop sanding down all the rough edges, I might pick it back up. But otherwise, pass.
#im like famously bad at watching tv tho so me not wanting to continue is less dramatic than it probably sounds#i just don't really watch it casually anymore so I'll only follow along with shows that i really really like#i got another ask about the show a little while ago and i was like 'oh ill answer that once ive caught up' and then i never caught up so#sorry to whoever sent that i wasn't ignoring you i just never got to the ep you mentioned#like if I'm trying to be optimistic. given how quickly shows get canned if they're not immediately super popular. and given that this is a#disney product. its possible that once the show proves it can be commercially successful and the characters get older they might stop#playing it so safe and boring and bring some of the harder and more complicated elements back in. and like. that won't fix what they've#already fumbled but it will at least make the story better and more interesting. but idk how likely that is esp since#rick riordan seems totally on board with all the changes and it sounds like he doesn't really get why they diminish the story#like i feel like they're thinking too much about whether or not a change has a huge impact on the plot and not enough about how it#impacts the characters and the overall theme and vibe of the story. if that makes sense#like sure we still got from point A to point B in roughly the same way but that trip means something different for the characters now#and if you do that enough times you end up with a completely different result at the end even if we're technically in the same place#percy jackson show#asks

Tumblr media
via @swatercolour here on Tumblr and also on [insta]
EDIT: I do not interpret "just managing" as "just suffering, just enduring, curling into a fetal position and waiting for it to be over." Managing is an active process.
So I'm using this post as a platform to make the reminder that "the power of the people is greater than the people in power," and we all are cordially invited to:
Take good care of ourselves. Mental, physical, emotional health. Hydrate. Move if we can, get outside if we can.
Keep up a routine. Remember quarantine and we all had to find a routine? This is the same.
Be intentional in our news consumption. Let's not stick our heads in the sand but let's not doomscroll either. Get an RSS aggregator. Subscribe to WTF Just Happened Today, Yoour Local Epidemiologist, Fix The News (for some inspiring hopeful news!). We'll check our feeds a few times a week, but no more than once a day.
Connect with friends and loved ones. Remind ourselves that while SOME people are horrible, for the most part people are awesome... if complicated. Share our fears but also our hopes. Eat together.
Now that we're keeping healthy, safe, sane, and hopeful... now we also fight. Quietly if we prefer, loudly if we prefer. But sustainably. I hate that I had to live through three rounds of this nonsense where a few people use half of us as tools to fuck over ALL of us, but here we are again. So let us take just one moment every week or so to...
Use 5calls to keep blowing up our reps phones. Tell them to either break ranks with the Orange Administration, or to stand up louder than just matching outfits and signs. Or to THANK them for standing up.
Use Vote411 to find elections before the midterms. A lot of villages, cities, townships etc have local elections that will affect where we live... and more importantly, the people in office there will affect things upwards too.
Use Ballotpedia to know exactly what's on our ballots ahead of time.
Protest, because it actually works.
Use Vote.org to make a plan to vote in the midterms. Make a plan that is immune to voter suppression tactics. Get our documents in order. Reach out to our friends to go to the polls as a group. Plan to livestream our visit, up until the point we have to turn our cameras off.
Make and share memes that promote hope, organizing, solidarity, and/or resistance.
Get involved with an action network like Indivisible, MoveOn, or Working Families Party.
Go to a local town hall meeting. Speak up.
Heck, start our own local activism networks, letter campaigns, call campaigns, or fundraisers with Action Network.
And we will remember our self-care. We will remind ourselves and each other that they want us scattered, focus is how we resist.
It IS coming back. Things ARE going to get worse. The world has become a place where a very few people are pulling levers and pushing buttons that are actively destroying much of what is good about living in a society where people care for each other.
Many others are in shock, sputtering "but can they do that?" MANY many others are waiting for someone to come save us.
But there are those who are actively, loudly, opposing.
And there are more people speaking up, acting up, every day. More people saying it's time to get scrappy. It's time to get into some good trouble. The shock is wearing off.
Yes, it's gonna get worse before it gets better (the long-term damage of the acts of the past momentum of all the damage that has been done will take that long to be felt -- but it WILL get better.
If WE will it.

all the reasons we're not in love
James potter x fem!reader ✩ 4.6k words
summary: You and James are best fucking friends—nothing more, nothing less. So why does everyone act like you're secretly in love, like it's some kind of undeniable fact?
cw: fluff, a pinch of angst, steamy makeout but no smut, best friends to lovers, idiots in love.
Tumblr media
James gets up from the booth and leans down to ruffle your hair just because he knows it’ll annoy you. All sat around a too small booth in the back of the pub with a few chairs pulled up to accommodate the large group. It’s James' turn to buy a round, and you make a show of swatting his hand away as he goes, tracking his movements all the way to the bar.
You have a second to take in the dingy lights and the rowdy regulars in the local before Lily scares you half to death, leaning into your field of view. Eyes alight with mischief and an impish smile on her lip.
“So…” she says, dragging out the vowel, “what's going on?”
“What's going on with what?” you laugh, confused but delighted by Lily after a few drinks.
“You and James!” she practically squeals, shaking your arm with gleeful energy. “You’ve been giggling like schoolkids all night. He had his arm around you! Just admit it already—you like each other.”
You groan. “Lils, we always do that.”
She rolls her eyes dramatically, clearly fed up with your refusal to see what she sees. And you? You’re fed up with everyone constantly implying that you and James must fancy each other. As if friendship isn’t enough.
“James and I are friends. That’s—”
“Best fucking friends,” James announces cheerfully, appearing out of nowhere and sliding your drink in front of you before placing the rest in the middle of the table.
“Exactly! Thank you,” you say, gesturing to him like he’s just proved your point.
Lily exhales sharply, throwing you a meaningful look before turning back to the group.
James sinks back into the booth beside you, draping an arm casually along the backrest behind your shoulders
“Try this,” he says, nudging his glass toward you. He’s been working his way through the list of ridiculous specialty mocktails on the menu and insists you sample every one. “It’s strawberry… something. You’ll like it.”
You take a sip. He’s right, obviously—it’s sweet and bright and tastes like summer. You smile up at him, pleased. “That’s really good. I’m getting one next round.”
He grins, radiant. “You can have that one, angel.”
You try to push the glass back, but he doesn’t let you. He’s about to insist again—mouth open, eyes soft—when a familiar voice cuts in.
“Why don’t you share your drinks like that with me, Moony?” Sirius whines from across the table, looking genuinely offended.
Remus sighs—meaning to sound exasperated, probably—but the fond look he gives his boyfriend tells a different story.
“We’ve been drinking the same thing all night, that’s why,” he replies, a smile starting to bloom on his lips. “And…” He glances your way with a teasing glint in his eye. “We’re not an old married couple like them.”
“Yeah,” Sirius mutters, barely above a breath, like it's a tragedy, “good thing they’re both fit.”
You let out a loud laugh. “We’re friends—”
“Best fucking friends.”
“—Not an old married couple. And honestly, you can’t say anything, Remus ‘Knitwear’ Lupin.”
“She’s not wrong,” James says with a quiet chuckle, sliding his hand to your back, fingers moving in lazy, absent-minded circles.
Remus only laughs, shaking his head, while Sirius looks scandalized—utterly betrayed on his boyfriend’s behalf.
“I like Rem’s knitwear, Trouble,” Sirius says, fixing you with a glare that would be more effective if his cheeks weren’t flushed from the drinks. “And I’d be very careful, or I’ll convince him to stop knitting your presents. Then all you’ll get are boring gift cards.” He nods solemnly, clearly impressed with his own threat.
You gasp dramatically, hand to your chest like he’s wounded you. “You wouldn’t.”
Sirius just giggles in response—giggles, which is never a good sign—so you turn to Remus, eyes wide, appealing.
“You wouldn’t let him, would you? You’ll still knit me things, Rem?”
Remus chuckles, shaking his head with a smile that promises yes, always.
That’s when you notice James—usually the loudest one at the table—has gone quiet. You turn toward him, curious, and catch the way he’s watching you. Soft eyes. That funny little smile he only wears when he thinks no one’s looking.
“You okay?” you ask, voice gentling with concern.
The question seems to pull him out of whatever haze he was in. His grin returns, bright and easy, like it never left.
“I’m great, angel.” He leans in, dropping his voice so only you can hear. “If Moony stopped knitting for you... I’d learn how to.”
You blink at him. “You? Knitting?”
He nods solemnly, one hand still warm against your back, and raises the other as if swearing an oath. “I’d do it for you. Even if it meant stabbing myself with the needles every five minutes. That’s how committed I am.”
You laugh, unable to help yourself. “You’re so dramatic.”
You’re laughing, and your cheeks are warm, and James is still looking at you like you’ve hung the stars—but you brush it off like you always do.
Because this is what you and James do. Banter, teasing, little smiles no one else gets—your own language that you’ve been speaking fluently for years. It’s not new. It doesn’t mean anything.
He nudges your knee with his own, still grinning like he’s won something. Like your laugh is enough.
And maybe it is. Maybe it always has been.
But then Lily shoots you another look across the table, all smug eyebrows and that annoying “I told you so” glint in her eye, and it hits you again like it always does—this sudden awareness of how everyone else sees you. You and James. As if it’s already written somewhere, carved into the stars or tucked between the pages of your shared history.
You take a sip of the strawberry-whatever to stall, trying not to frown. Because the truth is, you know how this looks from the outside. All the little things he does, the way you lean into him without thinking, the endless inside jokes—it paints a picture. A certain type of story.
Because he’s James. And you’re... you.
And no matter how many times Sirius winks or Mary raises a knowing brow or Lily insists you're in love, you don’t think there’s a universe where you and James actually get together. Not really.
You’re best friends. That’s it.
And maybe there’s something sacred in that. Something worth protecting.
Besides—he doesn’t fancy you. Not like that. And you certainly don’t fancy him. No matter how charming he is. Or how warm his laugh makes you feel. Or how he always saves you the last piece of your favourite treats even when he pretends he won’t. Or how he’s looking at you now like he’d burn down the world just to keep you smiling.
No. You don’t fancy each other. That would be... messy. Complicated. The end of everything easy and good between you.
And James Potter may be a lot of things, but he’s not your ending.
He’s your always.
So you take another sip of the mocktail he gave you and bump his shoulder with your own, like nothing ever passed through your mind. He bumps you back, that lazy smirk still on his lips.
-
The pub starts to empty in waves, voices thinning out as people stumble toward coat racks and lingering goodbyes. You're nestled deeper into the booth than you realized, lulled by warmth and easy laughter and the comfort of being surrounded by your people.
Eventually, someone suggests calling it. Mary’s already halfway into her coat, Sirius is trying to coax Remus into stealing pint glasses for their flat –something about the collection– and Lily kisses you on the cheek with a meaningful look before grabbing Marlene’s arm and disappearing toward the door in a burst of cold air and laughter.
And James?
James is exactly where he’s been all night—at your side, elbow brushing yours every time he moves. When you pull your coat on, he reaches over without thinking and helps tug the hood into place for you.
“You ready?” he asks, and it’s easy, familiar.
“Yeah. Thanks for driving.” You smile, a little sleepy now that the buzz is fading.
He shrugs like it’s nothing. “Wouldn’t trust anyone else to make sure you get home.”
-
The drive is quiet, but it’s not uncomfortable. Music hums low through the speakers—something you’ve heard a million times over, something James mumbles along to under his breath when he thinks you’re not listening. He’s one of those annoyingly good drivers too. One hand on the wheel, the other resting loosely between the seats, fingers drumming to the beat.
You glance over once and catch him mid-yawn, eyes crinkling at the corners as he grins at the road.
“Wanna come in?” you hear yourself ask when he pulls up in front of your place, your voice softer than you expect. “Just for a bit? I might put on a film.”
James looks at you, searching your face for something. Whatever he finds, it makes him smile—gentler than before. “Yeah,” he says. “I’d like that.”
You flick on the lights when you step inside, and it’s like muscle memory from there: shoes off, jacket thrown over the arm of the sofa, kettle filled. James leans against your kitchen counter like he belongs there. And he kind of does. There’s a mug he always uses in your cupboard. A hoodie of his in your laundry pile.
“What are we watching?” he asks, already padding into your living room, socked feet silent on the floorboards.
“Something easy,” you say. “Something we’ve seen before so I don’t actually have to pay attention.”
James shoots you a grin over his shoulder. “That for me or for you?”
You ignore the question, toss him the remote. “Dealer’s choice.”
You end up on opposite ends of the couch, legs tangled somewhere in the middle because it’s late and it’s cold and this is what you do. It’s not new.
The movie starts playing, dim blue light casting soft shadows across his face. You watch it for a while—or try to—but your thoughts start running at a mile a minute instead.
You try to focus on the movie. Really, you do. But all you can hear is Lily’s voice echoing in your head: “Just admit it already—you like each other.”
It’s not just her. It’s everyone.
Sirius, with his loud, theatrical gasps every time James passes you a drink. Marlene muttering “just kiss already” under her breath like it’s an inside joke. Even Remus, who’s supposed to be the voice of reason, always quirking a brow when James tosses an arm around your shoulder like it’s the most natural thing in the world. Which it is. It’s normal. It doesn’t mean anything.
But now? Now it’s stuck in your head. Every glance, every smile, every stupid joke he laughs too hard at—it’s all tinged with the weight of everyone else's expectations.
You lean your head back on the cushion and sigh.
“What’s going on in that head of yours?” James asks, voice soft and scratchy with tiredness.
You glance at him. His eyes are still on the TV, but the corners of his mouth twitch like he already knows you’re spiraling.
You hesitate, then sit up a little. “Can I ask you something?”
His gaze flicks to you instantly. “Course.”
“Do you ever get… tired of everyone thinking we’re in love?”
James lets out a short breath, somewhere between a laugh and a groan. “All the fucking time.”
You nod, almost relieved. “Right? It’s like—just because we’re close doesn’t mean we’re secretly pining.”
“Exactly!” James says, animated now, like he’s been waiting for someone to validate this. “Like, we literally watched Sirius throw himself at Rem for years and no one said shit, but I pass you a drink and suddenly it’s like—‘When’s the wedding, James?’”
You snort, finally smiling. “It’s exhausting.”
“Truly.”
Silence falls again, but it’s different now.
“I just…” you start, voice quieter. “I wish there was a way to prove it, you know? That we don’t fancy each other. That this—” you gesture vaguely between the two of you “—this is just friendship.”
James raises a brow, half-amused. “You want, like… a presentation?”
You giggle. “Maybe.”
“Bullet points and everything?”
“‘All the reasons James Potter is categorically not in love with me.’”
“‘Exhibit A: the time I ate her last slice of pizza.’”
“‘Exhibit B: he never laughs at my best jokes.’”
“That’s a lie and you know it.”
Another beat passes. You look at each other.
There’s a flicker in James’ eyes—just a spark of something you can’t name—and it hits you, sudden and sharp, how close you are. His knee is still pressed against yours. His fingers are brushing your ankle like it’s nothing. Like it always has been.
You lick your lips. Heart hammering. And then—
“…We should kiss.”
James blinks. “What?”
You’re not even sure where the words came from. They just—slipped out. But now that they’re here, they feel oddly right. Inevitable.
You swallow. “We should kiss. Just once. To prove there’s nothing there.”
He stares at you, stunned into silence.
You rush to explain. “I mean—everyone keeps saying there is. And maybe if we just… did it, and it was awkward or bad or whatever, we could tell them and they’d drop it. They’d finally stop acting like we’re in some secret relationship.”
James is still staring, mouth slightly open.
You flush, heat creeping up your neck. “It’s stupid, forget it—”
“I’ll do it,” he says suddenly.
Your breath catches. “You will?”
He nods, slowly, like he’s still catching up with himself. “Yeah. If it’ll prove a point.”
You try to ignore the way your pulse spikes. “Right. Okay.”
With the room still mostly shrouded in darkness, it's difficult to make out the features of his face clearly. He shifts closer to you whilst manoeuvring your legs to settle beside you properly. There's little time to recognise the shift in his gaze as it pins to your lips before he's grinning and speaking again.
“What happens when you fall in love with me because of this?”
You snort, rolling your eyes, “Your ego’s fucking massive Potter, I’ll be fine.” you say, gently slapping his arm. “Not sure about you though.” he rolls his eyes and shakes his head at you, acting like you're the biggest nuisance in the world.
“Come on then.” you say, impatiently. James sighs, then nods, before he's raising a hand to cup your jaw. His touch is gentle, like he's holding something fragile, priceless. And then he's leaning in so slowly, allowing you the time to pull away in case you’d been joking.
You let your eyes fall shut, expecting his kiss as your hand drifts to rest on his knee. You don’t notice the faint hitch in his breath at your touch—it’s so subtle, it nearly slips past you. The kiss comes and goes in a heartbeat, a fleeting, chaste peck that barely brushes your lips. When his hand pulls away and he clears his throat, your eyes open. He doesn’t say a word.
Despite the fact you should feel happy that you felt nothing, there's a strange twisting feeling in your stomach. Like when you startle awake after dreaming that you're falling. Then it comes to you, that kiss wasn’t a real one it can’t prove anything.
“That wasn’t a proper kiss, James.” you say while looking down at your hands, not wanting to face him.
“You’re right.” you look up to see his bottom lip trapped between his teeth and you're startled by the sudden fascination with his mouth.
“You have to kiss me like you’d kiss someone you're in love with.”
James’ gaze drops to your lips and stays pinned there as he’s silent, thinking.
“I can do that… I think.”
“Come on then.” you joke as you take a deeper breath in.
James exhales, slow and steady, but you can see it—the way his fingers twitch slightly, like he’s restraining something. Like there’s a weight behind your words neither of you wants to name just yet.
“You’re sure?” he asks, voice quieter now, with none of that usual cocky lilt. It’s careful. Measured. He’s giving you one last out.
You nod. “It’s just a kiss.”
But it’s not. You both know that. It hasn’t been just a kiss since the moment you suggested it.
Still, you say it anyway, because it’s easier to pretend it’s simple.
James shifts closer, knees brushing yours again, the space between you shrinking by the second. His hand finds your jaw again—just like before—but this time his thumb lingers at your cheekbone, the pad of it brushing soft circles that make your heart lurch. There’s something almost reverent in his touch now, like he’s memorising every inch of you.
When he leans in this time, it’s slower. Like he’s moving through water. Like the world around you doesn’t matter anymore.
And when he finally kisses you, it’s nothing like the first time.
It’s not hesitant or performative or brief. It’s warm and aching and real.
James kisses you like he’s been waiting his whole life to do it. Like this isn’t about proving anything or making a point—it’s about you. About this.
His lips are soft and sure against yours, and when your hand slips up to grip the front of his jumper, he deepens the kiss with a low hum in the back of his throat, like he’s been holding that sound in for too long.
One of his hands slips down to your hip, shifting you closer, settling you on his lap. You go willingly, knees digging into the sofa at either side of his thighs as he tilts his head back to reach you better. Completely lost in each other, forgetting, you’re sure your lips will soon turn numb.
Your hands drift upward to settle around his neck and lightly tug the hair at the nape of his neck. James pulls you closer by the waist, chests flush and his mouth remains probing and searching on your own.
There’s the feeling of a smile in the kiss but you can’t tell who’s it is. You’ve fallen into a steady rhythm, easy and sweet, but when a noise is pulled from his throat you freeze, pulling away.
Looking down at him your face sits somewhere between concern and confusion. James stares right back at you panting, but otherwise seemingly unaffected.
“Forgive a man for getting distracted, angel.” he defends, like it's all your fault.
You know you should move away from him now. Really, you know. But there's a strange standoff happening where neither of you look away and neither of you move. Until you do.
It's hard to tell who moves in first, but the other reciprocates and you’re kissing again. James kisses you like a man starved. It's feverish and intense. It's everything.
You can’t help but grab hold of his hair, curls silky and soft through your fingers, giving them the slightest tug experimentally. It makes James shamelessly grind up against you. Nails digging lightly into the back of his neck, you gasp when his mouth leaves yours properly and latches onto your neck, lost in the bliss of it all, you grind down against him.
“Fuck, don’t do that,” His breath sounds strained. “can’t take it—“ His murmur is a rumble against your skin. You flush at the idea that he can’t contain himself because of this. Because of you.
When he pulls away, finished ravishing your neck, you come back down to earth, scrambling to remove yourself from his lap. His hair is messy, messier than usual, from your touch and his lips are red and kiss bitten.
You look to the far corner before you speak, unable to look at him now.
“... I guess we’ve proved we don’t fancy each other, then.”
You’re a liar and you know you are.
-
It’s been two days since the kiss. Two long, excruciating days where you haven’t spoken to James once. Not a text. Not a call.
You’ve replayed that night over and over in your head, hoping it would start to blur around the edges, lose its sharpness. But it hasn’t. If anything, it’s crystal clear—every touch, every sound, every look he gave you. And worst of all? You don’t even regret it.
You’re halfway through nursing a lukewarm coffee at the back corner of a café when Sirius slides into the seat across from you like he owns the place, all leather jacket and smug grin.
“Oi,” he says, tugging your cup toward himself and taking a sip without asking. “You’ve been avoiding us.”
You blink, startled. “Us?
As if summoned, Remus appears beside him, calm and neat in that way that makes you feel even more frazzled by comparison. “She’s definitely been avoiding James,” he says, not unkindly, as he slides into the seat beside Sirius.
Sirius throws an arm around Remus’ shoulders with dramatic flair. “And thus—by extension—the rest of us, tragically caught in the crossfire of whatever the hell is going on.”
You frown. “Nothing is going on.”
Sirius lets out a loud, derisive snort. “Right. Tell that to James, who has been moping around the flat like a Victorian widow.”
“I’m serious,” you say quickly.
Remus raises an eyebrow. “So are we.”
You roll your eyes. “Come on. He’s not moping.”
Sirius levels you with a look, all theatrics dropped. “He didn’t even yell at me for eating his last bag of crisps yesterday. He just sighed. Like—actual sadness sighing. Who even does that?”
Your heart sinks, but you try not to let it show. “He’s probably just… tired. He drove me home from the pub that night, maybe he’s still catching up on sleep.”
Sirius and Remus share a look.
Remus tilts his head. “That’s the night it started, you know.”
“I told you,” Sirius says, grinning now like he’s cracked a case. “Something happened in that car. Or after. Did you two fight?”
“No,” you say quickly. Too quickly. “Nothing happened.”
Sirius narrows his eyes at you. “You’re a terrible liar, you know.”
“I’m not lying,” you lie.
Remus leans in, voice quieter now, more careful. “We’re not trying to corner you. Just… we’re worried. About both of you.”
You take a long sip of your coffee, trying to buy time, but it’s cold and bitter and doesn’t help at all. You stare into the cup like it holds the answers. It doesn’t.
Sirius softens, which is somehow worse. “Look, we’re not asking for details. Just—maybe talk to him?”
You sigh. “I don’t know what I’d even say.”
“Try the truth,” Remus offers gently.
The truth is a mess, though. The truth is a blur of lips and hands and breathless gasps. It’s James’ eyes on yours in the dark, his fingers brushing your cheek like he was afraid you’d vanish. It’s the way you didn’t sleep that night, couldn’t sleep, because your skin still remembered the shape of his touch.
And the worst part? The worst part is you know what you felt wasn’t one-sided.
Sirius glances at his watch. “If you don’t call him, I’m sending him to your flat.” He threatens, leaving no room for argument.
-
You don’t call him.
You want to—God, you want to. You’ve picked up your phone half a dozen times just to stare at his name, thumb hovering over the call button like it’s going to electrocute you. But every time, something stops you. Some awful cocktail of fear and guilt and what-if. What if it was a mistake? What if he regrets it? What if he doesn’t, and you’re the one who ruins everything?
So you don’t call. You sit with the silence and let it suffocate you.
It's nearly midnight when there's a knock at your door.
Your heart jumps into your throat. For a second, you think about ignoring it, pretending you’re asleep, but you already know who it is.
You open the door anyway.
James is standing there, hoodie thrown on as if he’d left in a rush, curls messy and damp like he’d just run his hands through them a thousand times on the way over. His eyes flick across your face like he’s checking to make sure you’re real. Like he didn’t quite believe you’d actually answer.
He looks tired.
You swallow. “Hi.”
“Hi,” he echoes, voice low.
There's a silence. Tense. Tight. It stretches between you like a rubber band pulled too far.
“I wasn’t gonna come,” he says eventually, shifting on his feet. “Told myself you’d call. That I’d give you space.” He pauses. “But I waited. And waited. And you didn’t.”
Your chest aches.
“I know,” you say, barely above a whisper. “I just… I couldn’t.”
James steps past you without asking. You don’t stop him.
He makes his way into your flat like he always has- it’s muscle memory. Like he belongs here. And God, maybe he does.
“I’ve been losing my mind,” he says suddenly, turning to face you. “I thought we were okay and then it’s like you disappeared. No texts. No calls. Like it didn’t mean anything.”
“It wasn't supposed to mean anything, James.” you snap.
He flinches, like you’ve slapped him. You immediately regret it.
“I didn’t mean—” you start, but he cuts you off.
“You didn’t mean for it to mean anything,” he says, voice low. “But it did.”
You exhale shakily, crossing your arms like they can shield you from this. “We said it was just a kiss. To prove a point.”
“Yeah, well, that didn’t work,” he says, stepping closer. “Because I haven’t stopped thinking about you since.”
You glance away, blinking too quickly. “That’s not fair.”
“No, it’s not,” he agrees. “It’s not fair that I kissed you and everything changed and you’re acting like it didn’t.”
You hate this. Hate how right he is. Hate how vulnerable he looks standing in your living room like he’s afraid to breathe too hard and scare you off.
Your voice is quiet. “I didn’t know what to say.”
He’s quiet a beat. Then:
“Say anything.”
You hesitate. Your throat feels too tight. But then you force yourself to look at him, to see him.
“I love you,” you say. “And I don’t care if it’s wrong, I just do.”
James exhales, a slow, shaky breath like he’s been waiting for this—like he wasn’t sure he’d ever get it. “Say it again.”
“I love you,” you repeat, firmer now. “I love you and I’ve been trying not to. Because I thought it would ruin everything.”
He steps forward, hands gentle as they come to rest at your waist. “I’ve always loved you, I think.”
It breaks something open in your chest. This is real. This is terrifying. This is everything.
“But what if we mess it up?” you ask, voice trembling.
James gives you a soft, crooked smile—the one that’s always undone you. “Then we mess it up. Together.”
You laugh, a watery, disbelieving thing, before wrapping your arms around his neck and pulling him in.
And when he kisses you this time, it’s not tentative or desperate. It’s steady. Sure. Like he knows you’re his.
Like he always has.

"sweetie, i might die"
you roll your eyes, before standing up and getting him another box of tissues, right from the pile in his desk, and you leave it quietly near his hand, on the bed. He tangles your fingers with his as soon as you let go the box. he caresses the side of your hand before speaking, hoarse voice in low tone. "you'll take care of the kids? mephisto? do that for me, kitten." his voice is weak when he speaks, exaggerated. he closes his red eyes dramatically, his thumb still circling over your skin. He coughs.
"first, Luke and Kieran are adults. second, i told you not to go on a ride while it was raining." Sylus pouts cutely, before pulling you towards him, making you fall on his big bed, exactly by his side. he coughs again. the tea you made him earlier remains smoky on his side table, and he turns his red eyes towards you.
"i needed to. who was gonna save you if not me?" he whispers. your body searches his, getting comfortably close to him, to his warmth. his fever went down after the pill, so now you can cuddle up against him. you sigh.
"i didn't need anyone saving me. it was a silly stumble. i don't even have a bruise." he smiles, tugging both of you more under the covers, spooning you from behind.
"that's because i kissed the spot. bruises don't appear." you roll your eyes again, but a silly smile appears on your lips. "you should kiss me too. my head hurts. my eyes sting. my back feels sore. i have so many spots that could get fixed with a kiss, sweetie." his lips make their way towards your neck, one hand wrapped aroud your waist, while the other finds your pulse on your neck. your heartbeat raises, and he feels it, humming in approval.
"you're sick, Sylus. you should rest." his lips part from your body, and he sighs strongly. his pout is back. he coughs stronger, one hand covering his mouth, the other giving pressure to the point that hurts on his body. you get closer to him and leave a kiss in the middle of his chest, feeling his heartbeat, the warmth of his skin against your lips. "are you feeling better?" his face switches, softening the playful grin and showing tenderness on his eyes.
"i am, my darling. and it's all because of you. thank you."
he tangles his legs on yours before sighing, right into your hair. "what would you do without me." you tease him. he chuckles, hugging you tighter. he caresses your sides with his fingertips.
"we're lucky we have each other, darling."

When you moved in with Nanami Kento, despite having spent countless days and nights there prior, he insisted upon orienting you to the penthouse.
"The rubbish is collected on Tuesdays, unless there's a public holiday, in which case it's collected on Wednesday," Kento droned, as if he'd rehearsed his lines in advance.
You followed him, pulling a suitcase behind you with a fixed expression of earnest interest. You pursed your lips, trying not to laugh every time he turned his back to you, before schooling your expression again the second he looked back.
"Okay, Kento. Wednesday, got it. Anyway, I thought we could order some takeout, and celebrate--"
"No." He snipped, turning back to you with narrowed eyes, "Tuesday, unless there's a public holiday, in which case--"
"--it's collected Wednesday. Okay. I hear you."
Kento narrowed his eyes a little more. You stood to attention. A heartbeat passed.
"Good." Kento looked down, ticking something off his list, and you felt yourself wither and die with equal parts adoration and exasperation.
"Next, fire safety."
"Oh, god--"
"Pardon?"
"Oh, god, I love fire safety!"
"Good. We have lots to cover. First of all, the designated fire exits are marked on the map, here, here, and here."
"This, er...this laminated one?"
"Yes. I have one too."
"Oh, we match~<3"
"It's important that we're both adhering to the same protocol."
As Kento continued, highlighting fire doors, and escape routes, and emergency contact details, your mind began to wander. His voice, while deep and smooth, ran monotonous when left to run for too long, and your eyelids drooped, your arm sagging on your suitcase handle, and--
"Are you listening?"
"Me? God, yes, I love...water based fire extinguishers. I use them on everything."
Kento prickled, a shiver rippling up his beige suit from toe to shoulder, "I certainly hope not, water can only be used on wood fires, or--"
"--or my flaming hot pussy, because this is really getting my engine goi--"
"--I feel like you're not taking fire safety seriously."
"Kento...please--"
"Because it excites me when fire safety is taken seriously."
When Kento turned his back again, you turned too, dropping your suitcase and dragging your palms down your face, a silently screaming oil-paint figure on a bridge.
"Regarding bathroom etiquette," Kento toned, his voice flat, as you thudded your head once against the drywall. By the time he leaned around the corner to look at you, you smiled, bright and attentive.
"What was that noise?"
"I...jumped. Out of...excitement."
Another silence. Another narrowing of the eyes.
"Good," Kento pipped, "as I was saying, regarding bathroom etiquette, I hope you're not one of those reprobates that squeezes from the middle of the tube--"
"Oh, no, I prefer to suck it straight from the tube--"
"--I beg your pardon--"
"--Kento, are you anxious?" Kento froze with his back to you. The toothpaste lid squeezed off with force in his hand, clattering across the bathroom floor. A slow coil of toothpaste squeezed out of the tube, to slug down his clenched fist.
You crept closer, and slipped a hand under Kento's suit jacket to his lower back, and stroked it. You felt the tautness in the muscles beneath his shirt, as rigid as a door of oak.
"Are you anxious about me moving in?" You repeated, your voice soft. Kento swallowed, hard.
"How...how could you tell?"
You sighed. When you turned Kento to face you, he could hardly maintain eye contact, looking anywhere but at you. You could see the worry beneath his thin facade.
"Nothing's going to change," you whispered, cupping his cheeks in your palms, "and if it does change, it'll change for the better. And I can't wait. I can't wait for...for every late night, and every early morning. I can't wait for every hug, and every argument, and every day off where we can just wake up in each other's arms, and say good morning instead of texting each other good morning."
Kento melted into your touch, his palm rising to cup yours against his cheek. His voice was tight, exerting control in what little way he could.
"I'm just determined to get this right. You're everything to me, and if I got this wrong I'd never forgive myself."
"There's nothing to get wrong. Or, if there is, it doesn't matter, because we know we're safe together. We'll forgive each other. Alright?"
Kento sighed through his nose, pressing a kiss to your palm. "Just tell me one thing."
"What is it?"
"...do you really not know which fire extinguisher to use for an electrical fire--"
"You are joking, Kento."
"I never joke about fire safety."

Danny: Aunt Alicia, how did you wind up with this job again?
Alicia: Well, the Johnsons really helped me out when my divorce was underway. I was too embarrassed to tell Maddie that the marriage she had been so against had gone under. Meanwhile, I had nowhere to stay and live out of my car. Mark Johnsons saw them towing my car one day while I was bawling like a newborn lamb. He offered to let me stay on his family farm as a farm hand.
Danny: That's was nice of him
Alicia: It's was. He saved my life. I don't think I've ever love a man the way I loved him.
Danny: How come I never met him?
Alicia smiling sadly: Mark had cancer. It was why he couldn't help around the farm. After three years of me living with him and his parents, we lost him to it.
Danny: Oh. I'm sorry for your loss, Auntie.
Alicia: It's alright, sweetheart. Anyway Mr. and Mrs. Johnson kept me around until I saved up a few and moved to my cabin. I come visit them whenever I can but their getting up there in age. Mr. Johnson is having heart surgery clear across the country, so I offefed to watch their farm this summer.
Danny: And I get to be your farmhand
Alicia: That's right. Oh, look, we're here. Welcome to Smallville, Danny.
Danny: Its.....small alright. I'm really starting to miss Tucker and Sam.
Alicia: Don't be like that. I heard the neighbors, The Kents, have a boy about your age. Who knows, maybe this will be a summer romance
Danny: Omg, Aunt Alicia, just because I'm Bi does not mean I'll crush on any-LOOK OUT! COW!
Alicia: *Hits break* SHIT
Clark: *Running over* I'm so sorry! She must have gotten out when I was fixing the gate. Are you two alright?
Alicia: *clutching her heart* Yes....I think we are. Danny? Are you alright?
Danny: *Looking Clark up and down* Oh, I've never been better.

⋆𐙚₊˚⊹♡
"my eyes burn,rafey..." you whine, tugging at his shirt while he sits on the couch, selling drugs you don't even wanna know about.
"I told you to not wear contacts tonight and you still went and did that,so I don't wanna hear anything." Looking down at the bands of cash as he counts them before putting them in his pocket. "but my head really hurts and the music Is loud-" "and what do you want me to do? tell them to lower it down cause the princess over here is sick?"
You hated when he got like this, way too mean after snorting coke all day long. "you're being mean...stop it." Searching through your bag for the tiny container of the contacts you pull it out, carefully wiping your hand with a wet wipe before removing the contacts from your eyes as you sigh in relief, closing the lids before throwing the container back in the bag; this time searching for your glasses.
"rafe,do I look stupid?" You ask, gazing at him with your glasses now sitting on top of your face and a small pout on your lips. "you don't look stupid, but you are for asking such a dumb question- you're the prettiest girl, yeah?" Tugging you closer with an arm wrapped around your shoulders, before pressing a kiss to your head.
"I'll finish selling and then we can leave if you really want to,okay? "okay..." Nodding at his words as you look around the party.
꒦꒷︶°꒷︶°︶₊˚ʚɞ˚₊︶°︶꒦˚︶꒷꒦
A couple of hours later you find yourself in the bathroom of his room, wiping away your makeup off before proceeding with your skincare routine as Rafe stands at the doorway, only a pair of sweatpants on his body.
"feeling better, kid?" He asks, moving over you as he wraps his arms around your waist. "not really,Advil is not working." Turning around after you finish your rituals, you smile a bit. "hi daddy" "hi angel..." Pulling you closer as his chest flush against yours, grabbing your chin as he smirks "too tired tonight?" "a bit...don't feel really like doing anything crazy-"
"you're gonna let me eat it?" Gasping out loud you hide into his chest, giggling quietly. "yeah...fine,but nothing else-"
Making an instant move as he hoists you up in his arms, sitting you on the counter of the bathroom, pressing your lips together hungrily. "fuck, yeah yeah- just let me taste you" Running a hand over your cami top as he squeeze at your left tit, moving his mouth lower as he sucks on the skin of your neck. "you smell so good" "it's the perfume you bought me for valentine's day" Smiling as he pulls down your top, latching his mouth on your nipple as his other hand move slowly on your shorts, pressing on your clothed clit. "no panties right? you know I don't like those on when we're at home"
Shaking your head with a yelp, you grab his hair pulling a bit "rafe-" "I know I know...I got you darling" Pulling down your shorts he smiles, sitting on his knees on the cold floor of the bathroom as he grabs at your ass cheeks, bringing you closer to his face. "Bon appétit" He mumbles before diving in.
Pressing his mouth on you as he basically makes out with your heat, sneaking a finger into your needy hole as his mouth sucks on your clit. "fuck- rafe.." "yeah,I know I know baby,I got you." Adding a second finger as his tongue licks everything he possibly can, savoring your juices as he loudly slurps making you almost embarrassed if it wasn't for the fact he was giving you the best head ever. "you're gonna cum for me baby and you're gonna do it loud and hard" Nodding as you grind your heat on him,his nose bumping deliciously on your clit making you moan out loud, pulling at his scalp "daddy- fuck, right there"
Keeping his rhythm steady his fingers curls into your spongy spot, making your head tilt backwards as your hand blindly searches for your glasses "rayray...my glasses, wanna see you.." Looking up at you,he uses his free hand to take your glasses from the counter, not stopping any motion as he puts them on your face. "thank you" Fixing them a bit, you look back down at him as his hand moves back down your throat, squeezing a bit before stopping back on your boob, pinching at your nipple.
With the final stimulation you scream "m cumming, fuck fuck!" Pushing his face more into you,you cum loudly closing your eyes in pure bliss as he slows the movement of his fingers, pressing a final kiss to your clit before coming back up. Wiping the juice off his face with a hand before sticking the same fingers into your mouth, making you gag as you lick them clean. "how's that sweetie? your headache gone?" "what headache?"

"Please don't scare this one away as you did last time," you beg and look at Bucky's reflection in the bathroom mirror. He makes a face where he's leaning against the door frame behind you and then sighs when you give him a look. "He wasn't worth shit if he didn't wanna fight for you," he points out.
Now it's your turn to sigh and you cross your arms, glaring at him. "He isn't supposed to fight for me on a first date. We're supposed to have a good time and hopefully fuck." Bucky's mouth hardens, and he looks away. He doesn’t like that, at all.
Ever since you became roommates he's been very protective of you, helping you with the smallest things, driving you everywhere you need to go, even if you can drive yourself. Sometimes it's overbearing but most of the time it's nice to have someone care for you like that.
Unfortunately, recently he's picked up a habit of intimidating the people you go on dates with. He stands behind you when they come to pick you up, and his large frame and cold stare make many of them cower. A few have turned around right away, others have asked if that's your boyfriend or something, thinking it was some type of open relationship/cuckold situation.
"Don't say shit like that," Bucky says through gritted teeth. "I don't wanna think about you fucking other people." You can't help the teasing smile that cracks your face. "Makes you jealous?" With a huff, Bucky pushes off and leaves you to continue.
Two hours later your makeup is done and your hair fixed to perfection. You sit on the couch in shorts and a t-shirt, with a glass of wine, waiting until the last minute to put on the skin-tight dress. While scrolling on your phone, Bucky sits beside you with a beer. "So where's the loser taking you?" "Don't care,” you shrug. “Honestly, my priority tonight is to get laid. The previous ones were a little too… bland. But he seems promising." "What do you mean, bland?"
Putting your phone down you look at him, "You don't wanna hear this anyway, you'll just get mad," you point out. "I don't get mad," he defends. "Pfff, you're such a liar, I can see it in your eyes whenever I mention another guy." "Because you deserve the best and all I've seen is trash."
Irritated, you put your glass down too. "Why don't you pick for me then? Who would James Bucky Barnes deem worthy of fucking me?"
The grip on his beer is so hard his knuckles whiten and his lips are a thin line. When he doesn't answer you lean back and start to count people off.
"Well, Steve seems a bit too sweet for my taste but I mean I would not mind trying a slice of that all-American beefcake," you muse. "Sam is so charming and funny! That quick tongue would probably work wonders, if you know what I mean," you wink and watch as Bucky's eye twitch, his jaw clenched hard.
"Tony," you continue. "Well, he seems a little self-absorbed but maybe he's a really selfless lover. Won't hurt to check!" "Loki is so handsome," you bite your lip. "I would surrender my body to him in a heartbeat! But I've heard that he leaves people high and dry and that would be awful."
Tilting your head, you say, "Do you think Thor and Jane would be up for a threesome? I can just imagine eating her out while he fucks me from behind and then we could-"
With a slam he puts the bottle on the table and grabs your face with his hand forcefully, silencing your tirade of words and squeezing your cheeks so that your lips pucker.
The grip is close to bruising and it's an instant pull in your lower stomach. His eyes are black with anger, something you've never seen directed at you before. "No one," he hisses. "Not one of them is fucking you, I will kill them if they touch you."
His hand releases you and grabs your neck instead. You're shocked, and instantly so horny it hurts. Opening your mouth to speak he squeezes harder, making a wheezing sound come out.
"I'll give you a chance to stop this. Tell me right now you don't want this and we'll act as if nothing happened. Otherwise, I'm fucking you into this couch until you can't remember your goddamn name." When he finishes his grip lightens. The rush of blood makes you euphoric and boneless. You want to give yourself to him, let him do whatever he wants. "Fuck me," you whisper.
The kiss is more teeth than lips and the hold around your throat hardens again. You try to keep up with him but it's impossible as he pushes his tongue into your mouth, claiming every inch, making you lightheaded with the lack of oxygen. You gasp for air as he pulls away, releasing you. His gaze is brimming with lust and want now, all signs of anger gone. Then he pushes you down onto the couch.
"You're a kinky little slut, aren't you sweetheart?" he mocks and leans in over you, spreading your legs with his. All you can do is nod and try to wiggle close so you can press your center against his clothed cock. It's clearly outlined in his sweatpants and you hope it's as big as it seems. "If I put my hand down your pants, are you gonna be wet for me?" "Yes Bucky," you whine.
The throbbing is almost unbearable and his smirk is downright sinful. "Come on, rub yourself on me, show me how much you want it." With another whine, you brace yourself against the couch and lift your hips. He doesn't move a muscle to help as you struggle to find the right position.
"That's disappointing," Bucky smacks his lips and frowns. "Thought you wanted this." "I do Bucky, I do, please I'm trying," you tell him desperately. With effort, you get into a good enough position to grind your cunt on his cock through the layers of clothing. It's not nearly enough to curb the ache.
"Useless," Bucky sighs and grabs your legs. "Do I have to do everything?" He pushes your knees up towards your chest, folding you in half and pushing his cock right into your core.
"Sorry," you moan. His mean words have only made you needier and you move yourself against him with abandon. Bucky is motionless above you, not making a sound or saying a word, just staring at you chasing your high. Your movements turn unsteady when you start to come close.
If you were of sound mind you would notice the glint in his eyes but instead, you’re barreling towards your climax. Until he suddenly moves away.
Gawking you stare at him and he just smiles wickedly in return. "Take off your clothes, spread your legs" he instructs and you quickly pull your pants off and discard your t-shirt and underwear, spreading your legs as best you can on the couch. Bucky takes in your bare body, moving his hands slowly down your thighs until his palms frame your pussy.
"Fucking shaved for him too,” he notes with a snarl. You're not sure why that upset him. "Sorry!" you say, just to be safe.
"I don't need your hair curled, your make-up done or your whole body shaved. I will fuck you anyway, sweetheart, no matter what you look like because you belong to me," he growls before he spits on your cunt, sending a rush through you, making you moan and spread your legs even more.
For the first time, he touches you properly, letting his fingers spread the spit all over your pussy before shoving two of them into your soaked core. He pistons them in and out, putting his thumb against your clit and making colors burst before you.
"You want to come on my fingers, you fucking slut?" When you nod frantically he instructs, "Open your mouth, stick out your tongue." A second after you do spit lands on your tongue and droplets on your face. It nearly tips you over.
"Swallow it," he orders and watches you as you do, some form of approval shining in his eyes for the first time. "Who do you belong to?"
The question is too complicated to understand, you can't focus on what he wants. "I don't…" is all that comes out.
"Wrong answer," he says and removes his fingers, making you shout in disappointment. Sharp slaps land on your wet cunt and you instinctively try to move away from it, but he grabs your legs, pulling you back. "Don't you fucking run from me."
"I'm sorry," you cry, looking pleadingly at him. "I'm- I'm yours James, yours to do what you want with. Please, please, please let me come!"
With a huff he pushes his fingers back in, pressing the tips into your g-spot and getting his thumb back on your clit. His unbothered state makes you feel so small and insignificant, heightening the pleasure coursing through you.
As it climbs, your body shakes, your legs trembling from being held open. "I'm- I'm- don't stop!" you beg. Closing your eyes you focus on the feeling of him, his other hand still gripping your thigh hard. You hope it bruises.
"I can feel you, slut!" Bucky's voice is the cherry on top of everything. "Come on my fingers, do it, come for me!" he commands and of course, you do as he wants. With a scream you convulse, almost pushing him out with the sensation flooding you. Bucky is talking above you but you're not sure what he's saying because all you can hear is the blood rushing in your ears.
A hard tap against your cheek makes you open your eyes. "Don't pass out on me, I'm not done with you yet." "Wouldn't dream of it," you smile dumbly, and it earns you a smile in return. But it quickly passes as he pulls off his tank top and pushes down his pants. The cock is just as big as you hoped.
He rubs the head against your soaked center, sending overwhelming sparks through you, making you twitch. When he notches the head of his dick at your opening your blood freezes. "C-condom?" you stutter.
Cocking his head he asks. "Do you really want that? Doesn't a slut like you want to be filled up with cum?" "Y-yes, but, Bucky…" you gnaw your lip.
"I want to fuck my little cum-bucket raw, make sure you feel me running out of you for days," he gives a light thrust, almost pushing inside, giving you a taste of heaven. For a second you look at each other and Bucky presses in just a little bit more. It decides it for you. "Please fill me with your cum Bucky, I need it so bad!" you whine and he chuckles before shoving his fat cock into you without mercy.
Quickly you wrap your legs around his hips, meeting his hard thrusts that are sending your body into overdrive. "Feel so fucking good sweetheart, your cunt was made for me, wasn't it?" he groans. "Yes it was," you answer breathlessly.
He grabs your face. "Those other losers are never going to satisfy you." "No, Bucky, only you!" "That's right, you're my fuckdoll now, sweetheart," he says before he leans down to kiss you. It's much sweeter this time and you grab his head, carding your fingers through his hair, feeling your chest fill with another type of warmth.
When he pulls back he says, "Beg me not to come in you." Your cunt clenches and your second orgasm is suddenly a lot closer. "Bucky, please don't… I can't get pregnant," you make your voice small and frail.
In response his laugh is cruel. "Yes you will, your purpose in life is to be bred. I'm going to cum in you every day til it sticks and then everyone will know who you belong to." "Please, pull out," you beg and reach down to rub your clit, feeling the climax shimmering underneath your skin.
"Such a bad liar, sweetheart," he chuckles. "Are you going to come on my cock? Are you gonna claim me just as I claim you?" "Yes! I just need- harder!" you pant. "Fucking hell," Bucky grunts and does as you demand.
The climax rips through you with little regard for your sanity. The sound leaving your throat makes it raw and a second later Bucky moans your name loud enough for the neighbors to hear. It's almost good enough to feel him finish inside you that you come again, but you’re too spent to do more than shudder.
Then he kisses you again, sweetly, caringly, and pushes his arms in under your body to hug you close to him. "So perfect," he whispers against your mouth. The cums start to trickle out onto the couch but neither of you care, too caught up in each other's lips.
"How are you doing sweetheart?" he asks when he comes up for a breath. "I feel a little high," you confess. "Haven't been fucked that good in a long time."
There is something in his gaze that shifts and he leans his forehead against yours. "I'm sorry. I just… I couldn't take it anymore… I like you so much." "Lucky for you I get off on that stuff," you smile. "And if I had said stop I trust you would have."
He hugs you so hard you can hardly breathe. "Of course, I fucking would." "You can make it up to me by going tender the next time," you smile. "Next time?" "As many times as you’ll have me." He laughs into your skin. "I don't think you're ready for that!"
Suddenly the sound of the doorbell jerks the two of you apart. You stare at Bucky with wide eyes. "My date," you whisper, horrified.
With a smirk, he raises himself on his arms. "I should make you go on that date with my cum running out of you, maybe even let him get as far as spreading your legs just to see that you’re already claimed."
With a groan, you cover your face with your hands. "Don't tempt me," you tell him before wiggling out from under him, finding your clothes, and hastily pulling them on.
Opening the door just a crack, you understand you look a mess by the way your date eyes you. "Sorry," your voice is small. "I wasn't feeling great and then I fell asleep on the couch." "Yeah, you look terrible," the guy notes before handing you one of the ugliest bouquets you've ever seen. Quickly stepping away he says, "I'll call you." but you know he won't. "Great, I'll see you around," you respond before closing the door.
Bucky takes the flowers from you and shoves them in the trash before grabbing you around the waist and kissing you again. "Didn't you say he was promising?" "I have no clue what you're talking about," you answer with a completely straight face but then start to giggle as he swoops you up and carries you to his bedroom.

The tavern was too loud for a place still mourning.
Laughter clanged like armor. Mugs slammed against wood. Someone was playing a lyre too fast, too off-key, but the crowd didn't care—they were drunk on peace, drunk on wine, drunk on finally.
And maybe Telemachus should've been, too.
He sat at the far end of the long table, boots planted, tunic a little looser than usual. There was still a sword at his hip—habit, not threat—but he hadn't had to reach for it in weeks. The suitors were gone. His father had returned. His mother no longer cried into candlelight. Ithaca breathed again.
So why couldn't he?
"Drink," said Peisistratus, pushing a cup toward him. "If you're going to stare like that, at least look mysterious while doing it."
Telemachus blinked. "I wasn't—"
"Yes, you were," his friend grinned. "Whole brooding prince thing? Very effective. That barmaid's been eyeing you since we walked in."
Telemachus turned, just in time to see her saunter off after dropping another round of drinks. She had smiled at him, he thought. Maybe lingered. He hadn't noticed.
He glanced back at Peisistratus, sheepish. "She was just being polite."
"She was being polite with her chest, my guy."
Telemachus sputtered into his wine.
Peisistratus leaned back with the smugness only the youngest son of a king could afford. "Gods, you're hopeless. What do they do in Ithaca, anyway? Stitch tapestries? Pray? Practice self-restraint until you die untouched?"
"We defend our homes," Telemachus said, wiping his mouth. "We hold our families together. I didn't exactly have time to entertain women while men ate my mother's food and planned to take her bed."
Peisistratus groaned. "Still reciting war monologues, huh? Your house is intact, your mom's safe, your dad's alive, and you—you've still never—"
"Don't." Telemachus glanced around, lowering his voice. "You don't have to announce it."
"Then deny it."
He said nothing.
Peisistratus stared. "Telemachus."
Still silence.
The prince of Pylos let out the most exaggerated gasp Telemachus had ever heard. "You are—!"
"I never had time, okay?" Telemachus snapped, heat rushing to his cheeks. "And it's not like I—like anyone—I mean, I could have, maybe, once or twice, but—"
"Spare me." Peisistratus slammed the mug down. "You've been home for weeks. Women all over the castle smiling like doves in heat. And you've done nothing?"
Telemachus opened his mouth. Closed it.
"...You're impossible."
"I'm cautious," he rebuttled.
"You're cursed."
Telemachus rolled his eyes. "You said we were celebrating your last night in Ithaca, not my alleged virginity."
"And we are." Peisistratus stood up suddenly. "Which is why we're fixing that."
Telemachus tensed. "What are you doing?"
"Getting you out of your own head." The younger prince grabbed his wrist. "Come on."
"Wait—"
"I know a place."
"Peisistratus—"
"You trust me, don't you?"
"I—That's not the point—!"
"It is exactly the point." Peisistratus grinned, half-dragging him through the tavern door, past the lyre, past the wine, into the soft night where stars bloomed and scandal lurked.
Telemachus' stomach dropped. He wasn't sure if it was the alcohol, the nerves, or the fact that for the first time in years... he didn't know what came next.
Tumblr media
The wash water stung your hands. Not from heat, but from the way your fingers had cracked again—tiny splits in your skin from scrubbing too long, too often, with too little rest between. But you didn't stop. You couldn't stop. If you could just finish this last basin, you could dry your hands by the fire and maybe—
"Hey." You flinched.
One of the older girls leaned into the doorway, silk slipping off her shoulder, perfume following behind her like smoke. She was smiling—but not in that fake, flirty way they did for customers. This was different. Kind. Almost... pitying.
"You're up."
"...Up?" you echoed, straightening too fast.
"First client. Just got called in. He's a special one, too. Big spender."
Your mouth went dry. "I—I thought—"
"I know. You've been doing laundry for weeks. Earning your keep. But tonight's different."
She crossed the room, gently took the basin from your hands, and set it down. The water sloshed over the sides. You stared at it like it might pull you under.
"I'm not ready."
"No one ever is," she said softly. "Come on. We'll help you."
Moments later, you sat like a doll in a chair that wasn't yours, surrounded by girls whose hands moved too fast for you to follow.
One was curling your hair with a hot iron pin, another was dabbing rose oil on your wrists. Someone else adjusted the straps on a dress that dipped too low, hugged too tight. You barely recognized yourself in the mirror. Cheeks smooth in oil. Lips bitten raw. Cleavage you'd never seen before.
"You're shaking," said one girl, brushing powder across your collarbone.
"I-I'm fine," you lied.
"She's nervous," another grinned. "That's cute."
"She's lucky," said the girl with the perfume. "First time, and she gets him."
You finally gain the courage to speak. "...Who?"
The girls exchanged a look.
"I heard he's a prince," someone whispered. "Or close to it. Tall. Polite. Kind eyes. Might not even make you do anything."
You swallowed hard.
"Just remember," said the first girl, crouching in front of you, voice low. "Pretend you've done this before. That you're in charge. Even if you're not. Men like that."
Her hand touched yours. Warm. Grounding.
"You'll be okay."
.☆.      .✩.           .☆.
You followed the Madam up the stairs like you were walking to your own execution.
Each step felt louder than it should've. Your heartbeat was pounding in your throat. She stopped in front of a thick wooden door, glanced over her shoulder, and whispered, "He's already inside."
Then she was gone.
Just like that.
You stood there for a second, alone in the silence, hands slick with sweat, chest so tight it hurt. You almost turned and ran. Almost knocked on the Madam's office and begged to go back to your linens, to the hot sting of soapwater, to the safety of anonymity. Almost.
But you didn't.
You opened the door.
He stood near the window, back turned, silhouetted by moonlight.
His posture was perfect—hands clasped behind his back, chin slightly tilted, like he was measuring the stars. His cloak was folded neatly on the chair beside him. His boots, still dusty from the road. He didn't turn at the sound of the door closing.
Your fingers clenched at your sides. You tried to remember what the girls said.
Pretend I've done this before. That I'm in charge.
You took one step. Then another.
Your voice came out soft—too soft. "You can sit down... if you'd like."
He turned.
And you forgot how to breathe.
Not just because he was handsome—though gods, he was. Soft brown curls that caught the light. Broad shoulders. Eyes like calm earth after rain. But what stunned you wasn't his looks.
It was the way he looked at you.
Like you were real.
Like he hadn't expected someone nervous, someone trembling in silk like she was being sacrificed.
Like... he saw it.
He stepped forward, slower than you expected.
You reached up—mechanically—like you'd practiced. Fingers brushing his jaw. His skin was warm. Clean-shaven. You smiled, or tried to, coy and low-lidded like the others had shown you.
But when he raised a hand—slowly, carefully, like he was asking permission—and touched your cheek...
You flinched.
Your whole body jolted. Just slightly. But enough.
He froze. His palm still hovered, but he didn't push.
You dropped your gaze. "I'm sorry. Forgive me. I just—I've never—" The words got caught. Your throat burned.
He stepped back. Not in shame. Just to give you space.
"...Me neither," he said quietly.
There was a silence after he spoke. Not an awkward one. Not really. More like a stillness—a moment suspended in the air between two strangers who had no idea what to do now that the truth had been said aloud.
You weren't sure who sat down first. Maybe you did. Maybe he followed. But somehow you both ended up on the edge of the bed, not touching, facing slightly different directions like you were afraid of spooking each other.
You stared at your hands in your lap. "I didn't think... you'd be nervous."
He gave a soft huff, not quite a laugh. "Why not?"
"Because when I walked in here, you turned around like... like you weren't afraid of anything."
That made him pause.
He looked at you—just looked—eyes dark and unreadable, like he was weighing whether to say the truth or something easier.
Then, slowly, his mouth curved into a faint, crooked smile. "Looks can be deceiving." He held out his hand. "I'm Telemachus."
You blinked.
The name struck something deep in your chest. You're not sure why, but it sounded really familiar. Still, you reached out, slipping your fingers into his before the silence stretched too long. "I'm ____."
He held your hand a second longer than he had to.
" ____." he said softly, like he was tasting it. "That's... a beautiful name."
He repeated it again, slower this time. More careful. Like he was folding it into memory.
You looked away first. But only for a second. When you turned back, he was already watching you—shoulders drawn in a little, face unreadable.
He blinked, startled at being caught, and looked away quickly, reaching up to scratch the back of his neck. His ears were flushed.
"Sorry," he muttered. "I'm not... I didn't come here planning to do anything like this. My friend—he pushed. I didn't even mean to follow him in, but I—I don't know."
He sighed through a breath he hadn't realized he was holding, shoulders rising and falling under the weight of his own honesty.
"I've fought men twice my size. Led ships through storms. Stared down men who wanted to kill me in my own hall," he said. Then turned his head to you, eyes meeting yours. "None of that was as terrifying as opening that door."
You blinked at him. "...Why?"
He looked away again, and you could tell he was choosing his words.
"...Because if I went through with this," he said slowly, "I'd never be able to go back."
That confused you. "Back?"
"To the boy who never did," he murmured. "To the version of me who still hadn't. I spent so long carrying him around, pretending he didn't matter. But I think he does. And if I let him go—" he paused, "—I want it to be for something real."
You swallowed.
Telemachus glanced at you, half-smiling. "Sorry. That was a bit heavy."
"No, it wasn't," you said, surprising yourself. "I... understand."
He tilted his head. "Do you?"
You nodded. "I gave my first kiss to a coin."
He blinked.
You flushed. "I mean—! I didn't—I meant—" You exhaled, collecting yourself. "I gave it to the idea of a coin. A better life. A trade. I thought I could handle it. That if I said yes to this place, I could keep my soul out of it."
He was quiet.
You laughed, bitter. "But I think it got in anyway."
When you looked up, his expression had changed. Something had softened in him—not out of pity. Not out of guilt. But recognition. He knew that feeling. That ache behind your voice.
"I was scared," you whispered. "I still am."
Telemachus leaned forward, elbows on his knees, gaze steady. "What are you scared of?"
"That it'll hurt," you said. "That it'll be awful. That I'll do something wrong."
"It's not something you can do wrong," he said quietly. "Not when you mean it."
"...Do you?"
His breath caught. You didn't mean to ask it like that. Like it was a challenge. But it hung there.
He nodded. "I... I think I do. Now."
Another long pause. But something shifted in it—something warmer.
You both smiled, small and unsure.
He turned slightly toward you. "Would it be alright if... if I... kissed you?"
You nodded.
The kiss wasn't perfect. It wasn't practiced or smooth or clever. It was a little too hesitant. A little too careful. His lips were warm but tentative, like he didn't want to overwhelm you. Your fingers curled in his tunic, clutching the fabric, not pulling—just holding. His hand touched your cheek again, and this time, you didn't flinch.
It deepened. Slowly. You tilted your head. He let out a breath.
When you finally parted, you were both smiling now, a little dazed.
"I don't want to do anything that scares you," he murmured.
"That's the thing," you said softly. "It still scares me. But... not as much."
He leaned back slightly, just enough to see your face. "Do you want to stop?"
You hesitated, and then, with the tiniest breath, you said, "No."
You moved first this time—your hand trembling slightly, brushing the inside of his knee and then higher, testing the waters. He inhaled sharply, but didn't stop you—his gaze locked on yours like he was waiting to see what you'd do next.
He didn't move.
Didn't push.
Didn't take.
He just watched you, like you were a storm rolling in, and he was the only man foolish enough to stand beneath the thunder. But then you moved again. Just a shift, just closer. And something in you said: Try it. So you did.
You leaned in and kissed him.
The moment your lips touched his, Telemachus melted into it—no hesitation, no second-guessing. His hand cupped the back of your neck like it was instinct, holding you steady, and then—
His mouth opened, his tongue slid against yours, and you gasped.
A startled, breathy sound that you couldn't bite back. It caught in your throat like a held-back whimper, made your lashes flutter. You weren't expecting that—how warm he was, how eager. He kissed like someone starved. Like someone who'd read about it, dreamed about it, but never had permission to try.
And gods, once he had it... he took it.
His arms wrapped around you without thought, strong and sure. In one smooth motion, he pulled you forward, shifting until you were straddling his lap, your knees against the bed, your body pressed flush to his. His hands didn't just rest at your back—they curled, palms dragging up your spine like he was learning the shape of you by feel alone.
Your mind raced.
He's strong. He's so strong. This is going so fast—but I don't want it to stop.
You barely remembered to breathe.
His hands spread wide against your ribs, holding you in place like he was afraid you'd vanish. His tongue moved against yours again, this time slower—more deliberate. Testing. Teasing. Tasting.
You whimpered, and his grip tightened.
Some small, silly part of your brain sparked to life, voice hushed but not gone:
If this is what all the customers are like... maybe working at the brothel won't be so bad.
But the thought barely had time to settle before memory returned, sharper now—the voices of the girls who'd painted your lips and whispered in your ear before the door opened.
"Touch his chest. Men love that."
"Use your hips—grind just a little, then stop."
"Fake moan. Even if you don't mean it. They eat that up."
The words came in flashes.
You tried to recall what you were supposed to do next. How you were supposed to arch your back or roll your hips or do that breathy little laugh one girl had demonstrated by the mirror.
But none of it came naturally.
Not when his hands felt so real. Not when his lips were shaking slightly against yours. Not when he kissed you like you were something he didn't think he'd ever get again.
You clutched his shoulders instead.
Not because someone told you to, but because you didn't know how else to keep yourself from falling apart.
Your lips finally broke from his, breath catching as you pulled back just enough to see him.
And gods—Telemachus looked wrecked.
His cheeks were flushed pink, almost feverish. A single curl clung to his forehead, damp with sweat, while the rest of his hair had fallen wildly out of place, soft spirals tousled from where your fingers had tugged them. His mouth hung open slightly, lips swollen and red, wet where he'd kissed you too long and too hard and too much—not that you'd wanted him to stop.
His eyes, though...they were the worst part.
Wide. Glassy. A little dazed.
And so hungry.
Not like a man ready to devour—but like a boy starved of softness, blinking up at you like you'd just fed him something he never knew he needed.
You sat on his lap still, panting softly, your chest rising against his.
Your hand moved before you could think. Fingers brushing his jaw, then up along his cheek. You cupped his face, thumb tracing just beneath his eye like you were trying to remember every line of him.
He's handsome, you thought, breathless.Too handsome to be here. Too gentle to want someone like me.
Telemachus leaned into your touch like it was instinct. Like it was safe.
You stared at him.
And then... you moved.
Slowly, you slid from his lap, your knees hitting the floor one after the other. Your hands rested on his thighs, steadying yourself. You leaned forward, eyes cast down, heartbeat loud in your ears.
This was what the other girls said men wanted.
This was what they told you would happen eventually.
Maybe if you did it well, he'd want to come back. Maybe he'd ask for you again. Maybe—
But your fingers had barely reached for the tie of his tunic before—
He stopped you.
Gently.
Firmly.
Telemachus' hands curled around your waist again—not desperate, not panicked, but certain. Like he'd been waiting to stop you from this.
You didn't even get to ask why before he was lifting you. Effortless.
He picked you up like it was nothing, like you weighed less than the breath in his lungs. Before you could protest, he'd turned and settled you back on the bed—this time seated lower, your legs tucked beside you. You stared up at him, startled, breath still ragged.
His hands didn't leave your hips. But they didn't move either. Just stayed there. Warm. Steady. Present.
You swallowed. "Why...?"
He crouched slightly, bringing himself to eye level, voice soft.
"I'm not here to take from you," he murmured. "I... I don't want that to be your first memory."
You blinked. Tried to read his face. His voice hadn't changed. There was no judgment in it. No shame. Just... truth.
He touched your knee—light, barely a brush.
"But... I want to give you something... If you'll let me."
It didn't take long for the truth of it to click into place.
Your breath caught in your throat, your heart lurching as it settled in.
He was telling you—right now, in this quiet moment with your hands still trembling in your lap—he wanted to give, and he wanted nothing in return.
The realization made your stomach twist in a way you didn't have a name for.
Before you could find your voice—before you could tell him, you don't have to, I didn't mean for this—
Telemachus moved.
He dropped to one knee—not with dramatics, not like some chivalrous knight, but like something in him had simply given way. Like his body understood before his mind did that this was where he belonged.
Not beneath you. But before you.
His shoulders bowed, his head dipping slightly as his gaze stayed locked on yours. His hands hovered over your thighs—not touching, just there. Waiting. Asking without words.
He didn't blink. Didn't flinch.
"You don't have to do anything," he whispered. His voice was so low it felt like a secret passed between breaths. "Just let me take care of you."
Your lips parted, but you didn't speak.
He continued—voice steady, but laced with something softer. Something closer to awe.
"I've thought about this moment," he admitted. "Not like this, not here—but... about what it would feel like. To be trusted with someone. By someone."
His fingers finally moved—just enough to ghost over your knees. Then higher. Sliding along your thighs, slow and warm and so careful.
He didn't press them apart.
He didn't ask for more.
He just waited.
And the way he looked at you—gods, it was unbearable. His eyes didn't flick down to your chest. Didn't scan your body like a thing bought and paid for. They were locked on yours. Unblinking. Steady. Patient.
You didn't think you'd ever been looked at like that.
Like your nervousness was sacred. Like your silence was allowed. Like you were the sky and he'd found a place in it.
Your hands curled into the sheets.
And then—
You nodded.
And everything stilled.
Not the air. Not the quiet creak of the floorboards beneath the bed. But him. Telemachus didn't surge forward. Didn't pounce. He waited one heartbeat—two—just to be sure. Just to give you the chance to change your mind. And when you didn't, he moved.
The first press of his lips to your inner knee was enough to break you. You inhaled sharply, your thighs twitching from how careful he was being. As if he thought you might shatter. As if he'd fall apart too, if he touched you wrong.
His hands were warm against your calves, large and steady, sliding beneath your legs to part them—not forcing. Guiding. Creating space. Creating breath.
You couldn't look at him. Could only stare at the ceiling as the fabric of your dress shifted—bunched higher and higher as his hands pushed it past your knees, your thighs, up over your hips. Each inch of exposure made your skin burn. Not from embarrassment. From realization.
From how huge his hands felt.
The way his palms wrapped around you so easily. How his thumbs brushed along the softest parts of your inner thighs. How your skin tingled wherever he touched—like his fingertips were ink, and you were being written on.
His lips followed.
He kissed higher.
Slowly.
Carefully.
Like each inch of skin was a vow.
He paused between each kiss like he needed permission from your skin to keep going. And when he reached the place right at the intersection of your thighs—he paused again, and the heat of his breath made you jerk.
Your voice came out soft. Fragile. "Telemachus..."
His head tilted up.
You expected hunger. Or urgency.
But his eyes..
Gods, his eyes.
They were soft. Dazed. Like he was seeing something divine.
You could feel his breath there—there—hot and reverent, like prayer pressed to skin. It burned in the most delicate way. A kiss without contact.
And then—
His mouth covered you.
You jerked.
A small, startled squeak caught in your throat as your hips lifted off the bed, back arching on instinct. The heat of his mouth was searing—not rough, not greedy, just everywhere. Warm and wet and real.
"T-Telemachus—!" you gasped, the sound breaking halfway through as his tongue moved. You clutched at his hair—those soft brown curls that caught your eye the moment you saw him—and whimpered as the pressure began to build.
It was clumsy at first. Careful. Testing. But gods, he was trying—tongue flicking and tasting and exploring in slow, cautious strokes that grew bolder every time you whimpered.
Every sound you made pulled something new from him.
You couldn't see his face, but you felt him—his hands gripping your thighs tighter, holding you open, his mouth pressing against you like he was trying to learn you by muscle memory. Like he didn't want to miss a single reaction.
You weren't trying to say his name, not really, but it kept falling from your lips like a prayer—"Telemachus, Telemachus, Telemachus—" and every time you said it, his grip on your thighs tightened, his tongue slowed, focused, like the sound fed him.
He moaned into you once—just once—and the vibration made you cry out, thighs twitching around his head. Your fingers tangled in the sheets. You couldn't stop moving, couldn't stop trembling. Every time you cried out—every little "ah," every breathless "oh gods"—he shook with need.
"Please," you whispered, not even knowing what you were asking for.
His hands slid further beneath you, thumbs hooking under your thighs as he lifted your legs—gently, reverently—and pulled them over his shoulders, like this was where he'd wanted to be all night.
He didn't stop.
He couldn't stop.
His fingers pressed into your hips, holding you still when you started to squirm, when your legs tried to close. You didn't want to push him away—you just didn't know what to do with all of it.
The pressure. The heat. The way he was everywhere.
And when you came—
Gods, when it hit—
You didn't scream. You didn't cry.
You breathed—one long, shaking exhale as your whole body went tense, then soft. Your thighs locked around his head, your back bowed, and your fingers slipped from his hair to your own lips, muffling the sound that rose from deep inside your chest.
And he didn't stop.
Not right away.
Telemachus kissed you through it—tongue gentle again now, coaxing you down with slow, soft laps that made your thighs tremble and your lungs shudder. Like he couldn't bear to let you go yet. Like he wanted to catch every last wave of your pleasure and hold it in his mouth.
Only when your hips twitched from the overstimulation and you sagged against the pillows like a storm passing, then—and only then—did he lift his head.
He looked... wrecked.
His face was flushed. Lips wet. Hair mussed from where your fingers had accidentally tangled in it. He looked like a boy who'd just touched divinity and barely survived.
For a while, neither of you moved.
Your legs had gone loose. Your chest rose and fell like it had been emptied of every secret you'd ever tried to carry. And him—Telemachus just stayed there. Sitting on the floor beside the bed, head resting against the mattress, eyes closed like he was memorizing the sound of your breathing.
He hadn't touched you since. Not in that way. Not even to kiss you again. He just sat there, reverent and flushed and so very still, as if breaking the silence might ruin it.
Eventually, you found your voice.
"Should I... should I... help you?"
He let out a breathless laugh. "No. I'm... I'm alright."
You looked at him, eyes flicking downward.
He was obviously not alright.
But he only smiled—softer this time, a little crooked.
"That was enough," he said. "More than enough." Now it's his turn to question you. "Was it... Was that—?" he started, then cut himself off, unsure.
Your hand reached for him, thumb brushing the corner of his mouth, catching the last trace of yourself there.
"That was..." you couldn't even finish. Your voice cracked, but you smiled. And that was enough.
His breath hitched, just for a second. Then, gently, he asked, "Can... Can I lie beside you?"
You nodded.
He stood and climbed onto the bed with a quiet grace that didn't match how tightly his body must've been wound. He slid in behind you—not too close. Not assuming. But when you shifted—just a little—and your back brushed his chest, he went still.
You felt his arm ghost toward your waist. Waiting. Always waiting.
You let him.
He exhaled as he wrapped around you, chest pressed against your spine, his breath steady against your hair.
And gods... it felt like safety.
Not heat. Not hunger. Just warmth.
You'd never been touched like that before.
Never felt like that before.
And the craziest part?
Neither had he.
You whispered, "...You're still hard."
You felt him laugh, muffled against the back of your neck. "I know."
"I can—"
"No," he said softly. "Not tonight."
You turned your head just enough to glimpse him over your shoulder. "Then... what do we do now?"
He smiled. Sleepy. Adoring. Infatuated in a way that made your heart ache.
"Now?" he murmured. "Now we stay."
And so you did.
With his arm draped over your waist, his nose tucked behind your ear, and your breath starting to slow to match his, you let yourself fall asleep.
Just this once, in someone else's arms.
Just this once, without fear.
Tumblr media
You woke to the smell of lavender soap and old wood.
For a moment, your eyes stayed closed. You didn't want to risk opening them—afraid that the night before had been a dream spun from nerves and exhaustion. Afraid that if you looked beside you, he'd be gone. Or worse... that he'd still be there, and it wouldn't mean anything.
But you didn't need to open your eyes to know he was still behind you.
You could feel him.
Telemachus' chest was warm against your spine, one arm draped lazily over your waist. His fingers twitched in his sleep, like he was still holding on to something. His breath was slow. Even. Peaceful.
You tried not to move. Tried to hold still like maybe if you stayed quiet enough, time would pause. But it didn't. You felt the moment start to shift—the softness fraying at the edges, reality creeping in.
You turned your head slightly. Just enough to whisper, "Are you awake?"
His breath caught. And then, softly. "Yeah."
You rolled onto your back, eyes meeting his.
He looked ruined. Hair tousled. Eyes a little puffy. Lips still flushed from where you'd kissed him. But gods, if he didn't look at you like you were something he was scared to blink at.
"Hi," you whispered.
He smiled. "Hi."
Neither of you moved.
You weren't sure what to say. Should you say anything? Ask if he'd be back? If it meant something? If he'd still want you when the sun was high and the world was loud again?
But then he reached up, fingertips barely brushing your cheek, and said, "I've got to leave soon."
Your stomach dropped. You nodded, trying not to let it show.
"But," he added quickly, "that doesn't mean this... have to end."
You looked at him.
He smiled—soft, boyish, crooked. "I don't think I could forget you if I tried."
You didn't believe him. Not really. But part of you wanted to. And maybe that was enough for now.
You sat up, pulled the sheet around you. "I should get dressed before everyone wakes and the girls start talking."
"They'll talk anyway," he muttered.
You looked over your shoulder. "Oh?"
He smirked faintly. "They were whispering when I came in last night. Half the brothel knew where I was going."
That made your cheeks burn.
You stood, tried to tame your hair, tried to smooth the wrinkles out of the dress you'd been poured into. You felt his eyes on you the whole time. Not leering. Just... watching.
Like he still couldn't believe you were real.
"I'll send for you," he said suddenly.
You turned. "What?"
"I mean—" he sat up, voice softer now, more careful. "If... If you want your actual first time to be... different... I could find a way."
Your throat tightened. "You don't have to—"
"I want to."
You blinked.
He stood. Stepped close. Tucked a piece of your hair behind your ear and whispered, "If last night was your first... then I want the second to be mine, too."
And then he was gone.
.☆.      .✩.          .☆.
You were back in the laundry room before the others, sleeves rolled to your elbows, sleeves that still smelled faintly like him. You kept your head down, folding quietly, avoiding the curious glances and the not-so-subtle giggles from the other girls.
"Did he kiss you?"
"Did you touch him?"
"How big was his dick?"
You ignored them.
The Madam approached mid-morning. You braced yourself for orders—new clients, more linen, someone drunk puking on the rugs again. But she only said. "You're off the floor."
You blinked. "What?"
"No clients. No touch work. From today on, you stay with the laundry."
Your lips parted. "Why?"
She didn't answer at first, just tucked a folded piece of parchment into your palm. A receipt. A payment.
"He bought it. Your virginity." she said simply. "The prince. Paid enough to take you off rotation."
Your mouth dropped. "Prince??"
She snorted—an unladylike sound for a woman who wore perfume and lace—and kept walking, her heels clacking across the wooden floor as she called out something about clean towels to the other girls.
You scrambled after her, nearly tripping on the hem of your skirt. "Wait—wait! What do you mean a prince?! Why would a prince buy me? When would he—does he come back? Will he come back tonight?!"
The brothel was already alive with its usual morning rhythm—cleaning cloths flapping out windows, perfume bottles clinking onto vanities, girls slipping between one another to straighten bedding and fluff pillows. A few early clients sat in the lounge area downstairs, their voices low and lazy, nursing watered-down wine while waiting for their favorites to appear from behind silk curtains.
You chased the Madam past them all, dodging a tray of breakfast figs and a girl giggling down the hall with her corset still half-undone. You reached the hallway leading back toward the laundry room when she suddenly spun around to face you—and you stumbled to a stop with a squeak.
She didn't speak at first.
Just looked at you. Looked through you.
Then—tap.
Two fingers to the center of your forehead.
"Honestly," she sighed. "And here I thought you were one of the smart ones."
You blinked, wide-eyed. "I—I am!"
She gave you a flat look. "You keep the ledgers balanced. You talk back to the bookkeeper without blinking. You know which clients are late on payment before they sit down. Hell, you taught Clio how to read last week—and you fixed the squeaky back door with an oil rag and string."
Your face flushed. "Then why—"
"Because, darling," she said, tone sharp but not cruel, "you're acting like a little airhead this morning, and it's beneath you."
You shrank in on yourself slightly. "I just... I don't understand."
She sighed again and pinched the bridge of her nose. "The man you were with last night—"
"Telemachus," you said quickly, almost breathless. Just hearing his name made your chest pull tight.
The Madam's lips pursed.
Tap.
She poked your forehead again, this time more pointed.
"That's Prince Telemachus," she corrected. "Don't forget who you're talking about."
You blinked. "But I thought—he never told me—"
She raised a brow. "Of course he didn't. Nobles never do. Not when they want to see how you treat them before the title gets in the way. That's why you listen to the whispers that goes through here. I'm positive someone let it loose."
Your mouth opened, but no words came out.
She continued walking, and you had to trot after her again.
"Anywho, the prince of Pylos—Peisistratus, the youngest of King Menelaus' sons—he came in just after dusk last night. Said he needed someone untouched. Said it was a gift, of sorts, for the prince of Ithaca. And the moment I thought of someone who might actually look him in the eye and not fall apart..." She gave you a sideways glance. "So I sent for you."
You gawked. "But I—I flinched. I almost cried!"
"Yes, precisely why I chose you," she said dryly, "and yet he bought your virginity the moment he left. Paid triple what we charge."
You stopped walking.
The hallway around you blurred—sunlight spilling through stained glass, footsteps echoing above, voices below, the brothel alive in every direction.
You stood frozen in the middle of it.
Prince Telemachus bought my virginity.
You touched your lips.
They still tingled.
Even then, all you could be stuck on was the fact that Telemachus was a prince.
And suddenly—everything clicked. Like someone had thrown a torch into the back of your mind and lit up the whole kingdom map.
You recalled the whispers in town. The parade of ships. The late-night feasts held at the palace people like you weren't invited to. The rising hum of change in every corner of Ithaca.
The return of King Odysseus.
And that boy—the one who kissed you like the world was ending—
"Prince Telemachus?!" you squawked again, way too loud this time.
But the Madam was already halfway down the hall, waving a rag at the kitchen girl and calling for someone to bring fresh honey-water to room six.
You stood frozen, still clutching the folded parchment like it might burn you.
You looked down at it again.
The ink hadn't changed. His name was still there. The number. The seal.
All real.
And your chest—your whole body—went still.
"...So I'm free?!?" you shouted down the hall after her.
The Madam didn't stop walking.
She just gave a half-smile, scoffing like you'd just asked if pigs could read.
"No one's free here, girl," she called over her shoulder. "But you're his now."
And with that, she disappeared into the steam of the bath corridor, barking something about soap and firewood.
You looked back down at the parchment.
