The sensory deprivation/whiteout alone must be majorly messing with his head. Like a classic tactic of recruitment in cults, now I think of it.
I hope Aziraphale is doing okay up in Heaven
Cause today I got really grumpy/overwhelmed, all because I forgot to eat
Poor Aziraphale has been in Heaven for how long now? He's probably hangry up there!

Hello! I know that youâve been getting a lot of Five requests, so I hope this isnât over doing it, but can I request Five x reader where they get to Hotel Oblivion (s3), reader gives him like, a spa day? Just because reader knows he bf went through so much to make sure theyâre all safe and wanted to make sure heâs okay and well taken care of
a/n: anon, i love you for requesting this, youâre not overdoing it at all! this was super sweet to write!! hope you all enjoy some piping fresh (and not very well proof-read) contentđ
summary: self-care at the end of the world
warnings: mentions of alcohol consumption, swearing
word count: 2.6k
The end of the world as you know it is no easy pill to swallow, and for a man who had spent his entire life trying to put a stop to it, itâs even less so. Since the identification of the Kugelblitz, Five hadnât stopped running around, searching for every solution to prevent the apocalypse. So far, he had found nothing.
Lately, he had been shorter with everyone, and you were determined to do something to help him relax. After all, he had put so much into keeping you and his siblings safe all these years, most of the time at his own expense. You wanted to find the perfect way to comfort him, and you had just the plan to do so.
That morning, you came downstairs to the lobby, bright and early. Despite this fact, Five was already up and ready - perched at the bar with a cup of coffee.
You approached him with a warm smile on your face, âGood morning!â
He looked up, and his face softened almost immediately, âGood morning to you too.â
Just before you hopped onto the stool beside him, he tugged it closer to his own. He looked you up and down with an amused smile, âYou look extremely chipper this morning.â
âThatâs because I am.â You smiled proudly as you placed a keycard on the table.
He raised an eyebrow, sceptically, examining the keycard, â417? What exactly is this for?â
âFor a room here.â You continued and he smirked slightly.
âLove, you do realise that we already have a room here? One that weâve been sleeping in for the last four days?â He said, gently tapping the corner of the keycard on the table to justify his point.
âNo, well, yeah, but this room is different. Itâs the spa.â You said, eyes flickering up to meet his nervously. You couldnât help but fear that he would think you an idiot for even suggesting it.
âI suppose, one day of relaxation couldnât hurt.â Five mused, sitting up. He looked down at you, noticing how increasingly excited you grew as he spoke.
He sighed, smiling to himself, âAlright, Iâm in. Should be a nice break for the two of us.â He said, leaning down to peck your cheek.
You grinned excitedly, biting your lip, âOkay, you keep that.â You said, pointing at the keycard still grasped between Fiveâs fingers, âIâm going to go set everything up, so, come up in like⌠twenty minutes?â
He watched as you got down, hurrying away hastily to prepare. He nodded, chuckling, âAlright, twenty minutes. Got it.â
**************************************************
Twenty minutes later, the door to the spa opened, and Five found you standing, looking like a proud child beside their science fair project, in the totally transformed room.
You had decorated it with sprinkles of confetti and tiny, heart-shaped specks of glitter. It looked like something out of a rom-com, but since you were the one who put it together, Five couldnât care less how cliche it was.
The wooden table beside you had a red tablecloth placed over it, and on top of that, a wooden tray with two porcelain mugs, a teapot, two champagne flutes, a rather expensive-looking bottle of champagne, and a little note.
Five was almost sure that you had written some sweet notion on it.
Or, better yet, perhaps it was a quote from the latest book you had been reading. He had been the one to recommend it to you, of course. It was a collection of translated French poetry. Some might say pretentious, he said romantic.
Peering into the neighbouring rooms, Five could see the equipment you had carefully prepared for the dayâs spa treatments. He knew you must have put a lot of thought into what would be on your itinerary.
As he took everything in the room in, his heart swelled with affection for you. For his entire life, he had tried so hard to make sure that everyone was cared for all the time, especially you, and seeing you put in all this effort just for him had him feeling more grateful than ever that he had you by his side.
âThank you,â he said gently as he took your hands into his, fingers tracing over your knuckles.
âYouâre welcome.â You beamed up at him. He brushed your hair away from the side of your face to cup it with one hand. He pressed a delicate kiss to your lips, and as he slipped his hand down, reaching for your hip, he instead met cloth.
He pulled back, raising an eyebrow, and then glanced down at the bathrobe in your hands that you were holding up to him, like an offering, as you grinned, âHere, you have to have the whole spa treatment.â
âOh? The whole spa treatment, huh? Okay.â He chuckled fondly, taking the robe from you, âAnd will you be joining me in wearing this get-up?â He asked with a sly smile as he began to get changed into the robe.
âOf course.â You hummed, sliding your shirt off and slipping into a robe of your own. When Five turned back around, the two of you were matching in your fluffy white gowns. The sight of you was, certainly, a pleasant one.
âWhatâs first on the agenda then, oh, wife of mine?â Five smiled, hands slipping around your waist.
âMmâŚâ You paused, thinking about it, your mind a little hazy under his touch. Your gaze drifted back to the table, âDrinks.â You said decisively, making your way to them.
âWhat do we have here then?â He didnât truly need to ask; you had told him more times than he could count about the herbal tea they served at your local spa, but he loved listening to you talk, so he asked anyway.
âThis is that herbal tea I was telling you about! I didnât think that I would be able to find any, but they had a bunch of it stocked up in the back room!â You gushed.
âWell, isnât that just perfect?â Five smiled, pecking your lips again as he slung an arm around your shoulder, âAnd the champagne?â
âI donât know, it just felt like a spa-y drink.â You laughed softly, and he chuckled, pulling you closer.
âI seeâŚ.â He smirked fondly, pecking your cheek. You rolled your eyes, smiling.
âYou know what I mean, though, donât you?â You asked him, noticing his condescending tone.
He nodded, smiling, âI do.â
You nodded approvingly and poured a glass for each of you. You slipped a flute into his hand.
Five took a sip of his champagne, savouring the taste. Then, he looked down at you, mischief swirling in his eyes, âThere is something I have to ask about.â He took another sip, âIn terms of spa treatments, that is.â
You hummed as you sipped your own drink, tilting your head to the side. His thumb rubbed your shoulder, voice lowering an octave as he leaned closer, âThe sauna. Is that set up, orâŚ?â
You nodded, smiling shyly as you leaned into him, âIt is set up. No spa day is complete without the sauna.â
âOf course not.â He smiled, kissing your jaw gently. He stood up slightly and adjusted his robe, âShall we?â
âWe shall.â You nodded, walking beside him into the room. He closed the door behind you, and the warm steam encompassed you instantly. You hummed pleasantly and slipped off your bathrobe; Five did the same.
You took one of the towels and slipped it over your body, sitting down. Five watched you do so and soon joined you.
You closed your eyes and felt the heat begin to seep into your muscles, melting away the tension and stress. You could only hope that it was doing the same for Five.
He sat down next to you, his thigh brushing against yours. He stretched his arms above his head, sighing deeply. "This is exactly what I needed," he muttered, closing his own eyes.
You hummed in agreement, leaning your head back against the wall. "It's nice, right? Relaxing?â
Five opened his eyes and glanced at you, a small smile playing on his lips.
"It is," he murmured, his gaze roaming over your figure, covered only by the towel. He slipped his hand into yours.
The two of you sat in comfortable silence for a while. You stole a glance at Five, his skin glistening with sweat, chest rising and falling with steady breaths.
He caught you looking, and a small smirk tugged at his lips, âEnjoying the view?"
You rolled your eyes, feeling a flush creeping up your cheeks. "Just enjoying the moment," you replied nonchalantly.
He chuckled, sarcasm creeping into his voice, "Of course," his voice became softer, "Completely innocent enjoyment."
âMhm.â You nodded, leaning your head on his shoulder. Five put his arm around you, pulling you closer to him. His hand began to rub soothing circles on your back.
His touch sparked an idea in your mind, and you sat up straighter. You pushed his hands away and smiled at him, âTurn around.â
âWhat exactly do you plan on doing back there, love?â He asked, with a grin, as he turned.
You watched the ripple in the muscles of his back, strained. You reached up, hands gliding over his skin comfortingly.
ââŚâm going to give you a massage.â You simpered, pressing your hands deeper into his back. Five groaned appreciatively, practically melting under your touch.
âLean forward a bit for me.â You gently tapped his back and he obliged instantaneously, with a soft groan.
You saw the tension in his shoulders lessen as your hands dug into the tight muscles, finding the right pressure to soothe the knots.
"You're really tight right here," you murmured, your hands pressing more forcefully into his back.
He inhaled sharply as his shoulders released their tension, âYeah, well, that comes with trying to stop the apocalypse for two weeks straight,â he grumbled.
You pressed a gentle kiss to the centre of his back, âYou shouldnât push yourself so much,â you chided gently, continuing to work out the knots in his back.
Five let out a sound somewhere between a grunt and a sigh. âEasier said than done, love. There is always something that requires me to push myself with this family.â
âI know.â You soothed softly, moving your hands to a particularly tense muscle near his shoulder blades. âI still wish you would, at least, try to take better care of yourself, though.â
He hummed noncommittally, lost in the sensation of your delicate touches, âI take care of myself just fineâŚâ he muttered, relaxing further under your touch.
âFive.â You said pointedly, pressing down on his back. He hissed.
âFine, fine⌠maybe I donât always take the best care of myselfâŚâ He admitted under his breath. His head lolled back with another sigh of pleasure at your touch.
You pecked his shoulder gently. You sat forward and your hands slipped away from his aching muscles and around him in a hug from behind, âYou need to be more careful with yourself.â
âThe fate of the world shouldnât be resting on your shoulders.â
Five looked at you over his shoulder, eyes softening. He turned around and pulled you close, his forehead coming to rest against yours in a self-soothing gesture. He was quiet for a moment, contemplating your words.
He knew that you were right, but it was hard to accept that this shouldnât have been the way things were when itâs how theyâd been for as long as he could remember.
He sighed again, his breath warm against your cheek. âIt feels like itâs been my responsibility for so long that I donât know how to let it go.â
You held him closer, wrapping your arms around him affectionately. You pressed another gentle kiss to his shoulder.
âIâm not asking you to let it go, Five.â You murmured quietly, shaking your head. âIâm asking you to let yourself share that burden. You can suffer but you donât have to do it alone.â
"Iâll try,â he said quietly, his voice barely above a whisper. âI canât promise it will be easy, but I'll try.â He leaned in, resting his forehead against yours.
âTrying is all I could ever ask for.â You smiled gently, pecking his lips and cradling his face between your hands. Your eyes searched his and suddenly you were all too aware of how long youâd been in the sauna.
Five closed his eyes briefly, relishing the feel of your hands caressing his face.
The steam had made his skin glistening and warm and you could feel the heat in his cheeks, âWe should probably get out⌠weâve been in here for quite a while.â
Five nodded, smiling to himself, âGood call.â He said, gently helping you up with a pat to your hip.
You gathered your things and stepped out of the sauna. You glanced back over at Five as he pushed his hair out of his eyes, âWe can always go in the pool, cool off for a bit.â
Five looked over at you, his eyes still soft from your comfort. He nodded at your suggestion, a small smirk playing on his lips. âLead the way, love.â
You padded softly across the room and to the pool. You placed everything at its side and eagerly stepped in, becoming embraced by cool, crystal water.
The contrast from the sweltering confinement of the sauna to the pool made you sigh pleasurably.
Five followed shortly after you, wading into the pool with you, the water lapping softly at his chest. He let out a sigh of relief as the water soothed his skin.
âYou were right,â he noted as he swam closer to you. âThis was definitely the right call.â
âNice and cool.â You nodded in agreement, swimming over to his side.
âMmâŚâ Five pulled you closer to his side, wrapping an arm around your waist so that his chest was flush with yours.
He leaned down, his lips finding their way to your neck and placing a few stray kisses there. You leaned into his touch, gratefully, feeling your body grow sleepy under his affections.
His arm around your waist tightened, as he pulled you even closer to him. His voice was low as he spoke, "You look so relaxed, love," he purred, his fingers tracing lazy patterns up and down your back.
âWell, that is the point of going to a spa.â You hummed with a smirk. Five held you against him, leaning his back against the wall of the pool behind him.
Five chuckled, relishing the feeling of your warmth against him, and the cool water now enveloping you both, "Indeed it is..." he agreed, "And it seems to have worked on the both of us."
âGood. Iâm glad.â You smiled fondly, pecking his lips twice over.
He returned your smile, his lips finding yours again⌠and again. Each kiss was more eager than the last. He tightened his hold on you, his arms wrapping around your waist and pulling you flush against him.
You felt your cheeks going warm as you clutched his shoulder for support.
A thundering crash sounded from the corridor. Five pulled back, immediately wary. He squinted at the doorway.
It was silent for a few moments, when the door flew open and Luther stumbled in, out of breath from his haste.
âJesus! Luther!â Five cursed, turning you around and shielding you from view with his body. Your hands wrapped tighter around him in embarrassment.
âWoah⌠uh⌠sorry. Family meeting. Itâs important so⌠you know⌠if you could both meet us in the bar as quickly as possible...â Luther said, casting a cautious glance between the two of you, cuddled up in the pool.
âYeah, alright, amazing, thank you, Luther.â Five said, sounding entirely unamused.
When Luther made no attempt to leave, Five raised an expectant eyebrow at him, "Do you mind?" he said.
"Oh! Right, sorry, yeah." Luther smiled awkwardly, excusing himself and walking out of the room. Once his footsteps receded, Five groaned.
"Can't I get one fucking day off?" he sighed, head dropping against your shoulder.

The Parents Of the Friend Group |PART 2
Steve Harrington Ă reader
~moments where you and Steve do in fact argue like a married couple and moments where it clearly shows and proves how Steve is the mom and you are the dad.
Warning: mentions of the upside down, mentions of S2, S3, S4. A little emotional at the end, still slight bullying of Steve, mentions of possible death, use of y/n, reader pronouns she/her
------------------------------â-----------------------------
Fall of 1984:
Your plan was to go on a date with some new guy and go home debating whether or not 'he could be the one' but your plans drastically changed when an anxious Dustin bangs on your door like a maniac. "Y/N! OPEN UP! HURRY! OPEN UP!" was the noise you kept hearing on the other side of your door that caused you to rush out of worry and swing open the door for the frantic kid. "OH MY GOD, what? What is it?" You say in a little annoyed tone but also in a little bit of a relief seeing that at least one of your many kids isn't hurt.
"We gotta go, fast and NOW!" Dustin practically screams at you before dragging you by your arm and out of your house. "Woah dude I can't, I have a date. He's already on his way" you say trying to resist and pull away from Dustin's hold, "I'm telling you right now y/n your plans can wait cause this is 10Ă more important than you making out with some guy" Dustin says still not letting go of you and dragging you out of your front porch. Dustin then halts in his tracks, "wait a date? I thought you and Steve had a thing going on?" Dustin says with a little bit of a disappointed tone, "what NO, never, we never and WILL never have a thing going on are you kidding!" You say trying to defend yourself from the stupid assumption that Dustin made about you and Steve. "Are you sure, cause every time I'm with y'all, you guys won't stop giving each other googly eyes" Dustin says which caused you to set your arm free and walk away, "you know what Dustin, call steve for this one, I already have plans and they're not going to be destroyed cause of some stupid joke you wanna pull on me!" You say loud enough for Dustin to hear as you walk off and head towards your house. "Okay okay I'm sorry but this is really important I won't say anything bad again" Dustin apologizes and pleads for you to come with him, "I don't wanna hear anything that will annoy me come out of your mouth do you understand me?" You say as you point a finger at his face, "yes I understand" Dustin says quietly, "I'm sorry what'd you say?" You say as you purposely try to prove a point that you're the one that's in control right now.
"I said I understand y/n now can we get going" Dustin whines and begs so you just let him grab your wrist and lead you to wherever you need to be.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here you were standing behind Dustin with an annoyed face and crossed arms, "son of a bitch, you know you're really no help" Dustin says in an annoyed and frustrated tone as he walks off which left me standing in front of mr.wheeler, "you outta put soap in that boys mouth, he's too young to be using that typa language" he says as he points a disciplined finger at you, "wont happen again i swear, its just he gets it from his mother" you say politely as you also walk off and follow Dustin.
"are those for Mr and ms.wheeler?"
No?- HEY!"
You heard Dustin and Steve talking but then Steve goes quiet as he sees you not so far behind Dustin, "what is she doing here? And why are you wearing a skirt?" Steve asks as he points at you and looks you up and down, "I don't know what I'm doing here, he just dragged me along" you say while raising your arms and dropping them dramatically. "Do you still have the bat?" Dustin asks Steve which causes Steve to break his stare from you in a skirt, "what bat?" Steve asks still trying to process what's going on, "the one with the nails Steve!?" Dustin says as he gets frustrated at Steve for being slow. "Ye-yeah I have it, it's in the trunk, what do you need it for?" Steve asks as he slowly catches on to Dustin's attitude and he's not liking any bit of it. "I'll explain everything in the car, HURRY UP!" Dustin says growing even more frustrated at Steve's slow movements, "okay Jesus dude, wait hey get in the back" Steve stops Dustin before he can sit in the front, "wha-?" Dustin gets cut off by a hand pulling his shoulder, "you heard him now get in the back" you say as you push him aside and sit in the front seat but not without hearing Dustin grumble about something.
After Dustin explains what he needs us for, he also gets in a little argument with Steve for not believing him, "how do I know it's not a lizard?"
"yeah how do you know it's not a lizard?!"
"because it's face opens up and ate my cat!!" Dustin says loudly which causes you and Steve to go quiet not knowing what to exactly say to that. The silence gets too much for you so you decided to break it, "what were you doing at the wheelers with flowers?" You ask Steve while looking at him, "umm...I don't even know man" Steve says while avoiding eyes contact but you can read and see through Steve, you know he's lying, "don't tell me they're for Nancy" you say and the only response you got back was a quiet sigh, "oh dude I told you not to apologize to her, it's gonna make everything worse" you complain to Steve for his actions, "okay I'm sorry but one simple apology wouldn't hurt you know and I was a little bit of in the wrong!" Steve says while trying to defend himself, "except it might hurt", you say and although it does sound a little harsh, it's the only way that your words are able to go through Steve's small little brain. "Okay alright I get it but why are you in a skirt?" Steve asks in need of changing the subject so he doesn't look stupid in front of Dustin. "Oh um....I had a date" you say hesitantly, "oh really with who?" Steve asks wanting to know who the 'lucky guy' was, "...um... Aiden.." you say quietly but not quite enough for Steve to not hear, "AIDEN?! The one I play basketball with!?" Steve says very loudly just for clarification. "Yea but he seemed really nice and he was gonna pay for dinner tonight so I couldn't say no" you say trying to calm Steve down.
"oh my God that dudes a total meat head, Aiden T, we're talking about Aiden T right? The one that chews with his mouth open. THAT'S THE ONE YOU'RE GOING ON A DATE WITH?!" Steve yells as he tries to make a point that Aiden just isn't the right guy, "yes Steve that Aiden and he doesn't chew with his mouth open, he just chews loudly" you say mostly to not change your perspective of Aiden, "he's nice to every girl, trust me when I say this but he's just not the guy that you think he is"
"Jesus Steve you're just saying that because you had beef with him in like 7th grade, you're gonna have to get over it you know"
"that is not the reason I don't want you going out with him okay, first of all he only washes his hair once a week and second he doesn't brush his teeth, all he eats is mint gum."
"blah blah blah, Steve I can't hear you!" You say as you try to end the argument with Steve. Aiden might not be the ideal guy but it would atleast be fun to just play with him you know. With you making noises to block out Steve and Steve trying to talk over your noises it has Dustin let out his opinion, "I thought you guys liked each other" Dustin says loud enough for you and Steve to go quiet, "omg not again." You let out a groan and roll your eyes, "what not again, what are you talking about Dustin?" Steve asks now wanting to know why it causes you with such a dramatic reaction. "I'm just saying..." ,
"Dustin don't say it-"
"I thought you guys liked each other or something I don't know" Dustin says while completely ignoring your attempts to stop him from letting out his opinion. "That's so stupid henderson you know that" Steve says which causes Dustin wanting to prove his point more, "it's not stupid actually, I mean everyone thought you guys liked each other. Steve is always protective with you, y/n and she always defends you when you're not around. " Dustin once again had everyone in the car go quiet, Steve kept looking over at you to see your reaction but it's kinda hard to read your facial expression if you're covering your whole face out of embarrassment.
------------------------------â------------------------------
Summer of 1985:
Dustin has practically called himself the match maker. With the conversation that you, Dustin, and Steve had back in fall, it kinda made you and Steve snap into the fact that you guys in fact like each other. Now with you and Steve together, you guys became inseparable. The kids found it cute for only a short time period until they kept walking in on you and Steve having alone time. Sometimes the kids would cockblock and join in on y'all's dates or sometimes they would call out of nowhere and ask for a pick up or drop off.
With Steve now working as an ice cream scooper at the new mall that just opened up, it was better for the kids to get through the movies without paying and today was one of those days. "Have a nice day" Steve calls out to the mom and her kid that just ordered ice cream before zooming to the back of the shop and telling Robin it's her break time. "Robin your turn to be up front I'm on break" Steve says frantically as he collapse his lips on your, "aw dude let me get out before you start making out..gross" Robin says as she walks out with a disgusted face.
"I missed you so much"
"you saw me an hour ago"
"I know, tell me about it" Steve says as he kisses all over your face which causes you to giggle and before Steve can kiss you on the lips again, y'all get disturbed by the sound of the bell on the front desk running non-stop. "Hey dinguses, your children are here" Robin calls out from the front also annoyed by the constant ringing of a bell. "Again seriously?" Steve says as he opens the little window of the shop to see the kids, "hi kids", you say in a cheery tone while popping your head out from behind Steve. You then open the back door for the kids to pass by and they all say hi to you before Mike makes a joke about your lipstick being smeared. "If anyone finds out-"
"we're dead!" The kids cut Steve off cause this isn't the first time that Steve tries to discipline the kids for how they're using Steve, "have fun" you say loud enough for the kids to hear, which they respond back with a wave to show that they heard you, "Jesus those kids are smart and all but they sure don't know how to say thank you" Steve says before walking back into the back room and sitting on the table, "they're just kids, they'll appreciate you one day" you say trying to cool down Steve from officially putting a stop to the kids ability of free movie access "I know but a little 'thank you Steve you're the best' wouldn't hurt you know" Steve says with a pout on his face, "aww don't get pouty now Stevie, they do say thank you just not to you" you tell Steve in a mocking baby voice and squeezing his cheeks as if he was a little boy. "Jesus stop" Steve says as he laughs a little.
------------------------------â-----------------------------
Spring of 1986:
Nothing can compare to how you feel right now. With finding out that max is cursed, it completely has your whole blood run cold. The kids have dealt with multiple death experiences but this one is just max being on a thin line of death. It worries you to be honest, in fact it scares you. You don't wanna show that you're scared or freaking out cause you don't wanna scare the kids or Steve. So you try your best to keep it together for the sake of max and the kids.
Robin and Nancy are out getting information about this vecna creeps while you, Lucas, Steve, and Dustin are sat on the couch staring at the back of Max's head as she writes down God knows what. "I can feel y'all eyes boring into the back of my skull", max says which causes everyone to look away, you then started picking at your nails as if they needed to be fixed (they are doing perfectly fine). Max then walks in front of y'all with envelopes in her hands but no one looks at her in fear that they might make her uncomfortable with their stares, "you can look at me now" max says as if it was common sense, "thank you" "sorry" "yea sorry", was the response she got from them. She then hands everyone an envelope with their names on it but before she gave you your envelope, she hesitates and says thank you before giving it to you which leads to you being confused.
You and max both turn your heads when y'all hear the boys about to rip open the paper but completely stop when max tells them to. "Don't open it now, it's for later" max says quietly but that leads Lucas confused "later for what?" Lucas asks max, "just in case things don't end well or if I don't make it, I want y'all to read it until after" max says which causes you to feel sad and heartbroken and before you can say anything Lucas tells max that we're going to get through this together but that doesn't convince max, not after what she heard happened to the other people who were cursed just like her.
You zone out with your thoughts racing around your head until you see max walk towards Dustin's walkie talkie, "do you think this can reach till east Hawkins?", Max's question leads Steve to being confused, "why are we talking about east Hawkins?" Steve says while looking around but stops when he sees you have a sour expression on your face, this lets Steve know that it's another idea that he's gonna disapprove of, "oh no..no...No!" Steve says in an attempt to stop any new ideas to come in.
That didn't stop max as she speed walked out of the wheelers basement with everyone trying to catch up to her. Steve was practically running after her while complaining her ear off about not letting her go, "if you think I'm going to spend what is likely my last days in the armpit of Mike wheeler's basement then you're out of your mind" max says while still walking away from Steve (who looked back at you and the kids waiting for someone to butt in), "so you can either take me where I need to be or tie me down which is technically kidnapping of a minor and i swear to god steve if i live to see another day, i will prosecute" max stops Infront of Steve's car trying to open the door but seeing that it's locked, "open the door" max says demanding Steve "uh no" Steve says while still flabbergasted at max, "I know a good lawyer" max says while raising her eyebrows as if shes challenging Steve to go against her.
"woah okay let's calm down now guys" you finally step in. The kids practically walk all over Steve and it never usually ends with Steve's idea but instead it ends with the kids idea which is weird mostly knowing that Steve is older than them. With the kids knowing that they are able to take full control over Steve, it takes you to step in and put a stop to everything. "Alright let's talk about it and no one's calling any lawyers alright?", you say as you step in the middle of the little stating contest that max and Steve were having. "Max I totally understand where you're coming from but this is a life or death situation so we can't just wander around when your life is on the line. Okay I know that sounds bad but it's true and you're scared and we're all scared but I would rather prefer you staying in the Wheelers basement than leaving and going out in the public where anything can happen. So trust me when I say this but it's better to be safe than sorry" you finish your ramble as you step in front of Steve to show that your full attention is on max and that you're not taking anyone's side. Max doesn't say anything but instead she stares into your eyes. You don't wanna give in but staring into Max's eyes is like staring into a kicked puppy's eyes and you're currently trying not to give up but instead stand your ground. You couldn't stare into the eyes of a girl who you practically called a daughter and not feel guilty for not letting her go out on her (most likely) last days.
You close your eyes and let out a sigh then turn to Dustin, "Henderson...that super walkie talkie thing of your better reach to Penhurst" you say as you move to the other side of Steve's car and open the door to get in the front seat, "woah what!?!?" Steve says while being confused on how you went from going with him, to against him. "Babe I'm not on anyone's side alright just take her there and we'll come right back, promise" you say as you finally sit down in the front seat, "no one listens to me, THEY NEVER LISTEN TO ME!" Steve complains as he starts the car.
------------------------------â------------------------------
Everyone had one hell of a day. Everyone was rather overwhelmed or exhausted from the shit they saw, dealt, or heard in the last 12 hours. Everyone was ready to call it a day and go to sleep but with max almost dying there had to be someone watching her, even if she was asleep. You volunteered to go first mostly cause you weren't sleepy at knowing that max could've died in front of y'all in just the matter of minutes. You stayed up for God knows how long until you started getting sleepy so you tell Dustin to take over night watch he complained for a little bit until he went quite seeing that you were stressed out and tired.
You went asleep on a chair that was way too uncomfortable with Steve having his body lean on the chair that you were sleeping on. You were woken up by the sound of someone calling for Dustin, "hello Dustin?!? Earth to Dustin!!??" The voice was coming for Dustin's walkie talkie thing, you got up carefully to make sure you didn't hit Steve or anyone without making noise. "Hey its me y/n what happened?" You asked still half asleep, "oh thank God, hey uh you think you guys can make a food delivery, I mean unless y'all want me to go out there and-" Eddie gets cut off by you, "no don't do that, we'll come by sometime today" you say as you look around the room to make sure everyone is okay but your heart drops to your stomach as you see the couch empty. max is supposed to be asleep on the couch.
"...cause you know a 6 pack could really cool my nerves right now-" you once again cut Eddie off by telling him you have to go, "wait wait don't go wa-!" You shut off the walkie talkie thing and immediately went to wake up Dustin. "Dustin, Dustin!" You say try saying loud enough for only Dustin to hear while also shaking him awake. Dustin eventually wakes up confused and looking around trying to figure out why you're working him up. "What- what happened?"
"were you the last one to night watch!?"
"yea why?"
Then where is she?!" You say impatiently with Dustin not taking a hint about what you're trying to find out of him. "She's right there-....well she was right there just a second ago" Dustin says before taking a look at his watch "I swear I was only asleep for......an hour" Dustin says with a long pause which causes you to let out a frustrated groan with how reckless Dustin became. You grab Dustin's ear and drag him up the stairs in a rush due to the feeling of worry and panic since a lot can happen in just one hour. Relief washes over you and Dustin as you see max at the dining table with holly while listening to music and coloring. After reassuring Ms Wheeler that everything's okay, "you know I think it's so cute that you guys decide to stick together while everything's going on right now" Ms Wheeler says with a jolly tone that is so heartwarming but mr.wheeler makes a dry and rude remark that ended with me walking to max and Dustin asking for some food.
"may I?" Dustin asks as he moves closer toward the pile of freshly made pancakes, "of course go ahead, you guys know you're very much welcome here" Ms Wheeler says as she gives Dustin a clean plate for him to get breakfast, "of course you guys are like family" Dustin responds to Ms Wheeler while adding some pancakes onto his plate, "sure why dont you take for all we're worth" mr.wheeler says in a very much sarcastic tone but that encouraged dustin instead of stopping him. "Thank you" Dustin says with a gummy smile and adds more pancakes to his plate, "Dustin!" You call his name before he grabs another pair of pancakes but instead he takes out 2 pancakes from his plate and puts them back in the original pile after you give him a look to act right, "sorry about that, he gets that from his mother" you say while smiling sweetly at mr and ms.wheeler hoping that you innocent look makes Dustin's actions acceptable.
Dustin sat down and started eating his pancake with his hand which you completely gave a disgusted look and gave him a napkin and a fork that was near Holly's plate. While you and max discuss what she saw when she was in a trance at the graveyard then Dustin decided to butt in, "maybe you infiltrated his mind just like how he did with yours" with Dustin's statement it made you think how that is a possible answer, "like freddy Kruger's boiler room" Dustin mentions and it caused holly to wonder who freddy Kruger was, "he's this super burned up guy with knifes as hands, and he kills people in their dreams-" you cut dustin off from continuing, "Dustin...she's a kid" you say the last part through gritted teeth and gave him a look to cut it out, "it's a movie, he's not real" Dustin says after looking at you for approval to make sure that his excuse to not scare holly was good enough.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Two days later:
Everyone came back alive but mostly injured really badly. With max in the most critical condition Lucas didn't help the wheeler family pack up as he preferred staying at the hospital with max. Everyone evacuated Hawkins so people started packing their stuff up and leaving as fast as they could. You and everyone else were helping put boxes in Nancy's car when Ms Wheeler said something made you and Dustin perk up, "who ordered pizza?" You and Dustin looked up real fast mostly out of hunger but also out of confusion. Y'all see a pizza truck honk and pull up in front of y'all then see El, Mike, Will, and Jonathan get out of the car.
El runs into your arms as you start tearing up with joy. You then break the hug and look at El fully and correctly to see that she looks different from the last time you saw her, "oh my God what happened to your hair", you say while laughing to prevent your tears spilling out your eyes, "what happened to your face?" El says with a both worry and joking tone, "some type of monster beat my ass" you say laughing and going back to hugging El.
Steve was watching from afar with the most cheeky smile spread across his face. Seeing how happy you are when you're around the kids even if you don't say it often but you love them and you would do anything for them to be happy. With Steve seeing how welcoming and happy you are with the kids, it gets him excited about his future with you.
Request me more ideas and I hope you enjoyed it.

April 2024 Monthly Forecast
Ahh, I am still going strong on the monthly forecasts! 20 bucks say I will not be doing one next month. I know my inconsistent ass well enough to know that I just jinxed myself into actually putting one next month though.
Reverse-Verse-Reverse Psychology. You're welcome.
Moving on, March was productive.
Superstition
Alright, if you were following along on Tumblr asks then you may know that some shit has shifted. Superstition S1 is going to be updated to 4.0 due to two major reasons I'll list below.
If I don't bring Superstition up to date with my current style then it's going to die. I can already tell. It's my oldest ongoing project and the fact that it's ongoing means that it's in this weird in-between state. If any of you mf'ers say "then hurry up and finish it" I will do nothing but stare at you in disappointment. K, glad we can get past that.
To bring it up to date, it needs to match with some of my current visions of where the story has gone. S1 doesn't represent that well. S2 does but not 100% and S3 is pretty fine.
4.0 will be me fixing bugs, and introducing new ones *jazz hands*. Implementing the way I do relationships now: Disposition System + Loyalty. Tweaking variables and stats. Editing some of the story to better fit the current vision and hope to remove blaring plot holes. And anything else I feel is needed but don't want to vocally talk about.
This is why the guides were taken down completely. They were already out-dated but now they'll be even more outdated. They will make a return, my lovely friend Neri has volunteered to do it. She is also the one who handles the ToA Guide so a special thanks to her.
Throne of Ashes
Nothing much has changed here.
Sea of Stars
I just completed C5 and dabbled a little into Ch6. This is where my main focus of March was. The current word count is sitting at 156k. And my fingers have told me that I can gladly go and fuck myself.

Teenage Dirtbag - Eddie Munson
A/N: well, this keeps on working so far đđđ here's Eddie's story! and then is full Marauders, James, then Remus, and then Sirius! I hope you guys like it!
Request - lunamadhatter99Â asked: I do have a request, my friend! I'm so happy requests are openđ Anyway: Henderson!Reader x either Steve or Eddie (whoever works better for you), where the reader is very quiet, not necessarily shy, but still. She's targeted by the jocks too because she's the "loser" sister, you know, and maybe one day, one of their pranks went too far and she's very upset about it (maybe is the process a special possession of hers). Every time she gets bullied, Steve/Eddie helps her comfort her, especially because she doesn't want to tell his little brother, who thinks she is friends with them... does it make sense? I don't know, I'm sorry đđ
Warnings: mentions of sex; Billy being an asshole (also, this is kinda between s3 and 4 and Billy didn't die so Jason and Andy are his dumb friends I hope this makes sense) reader is kind of mean to Dustin (not really, she's just grumpy and a loner instead of shy, kind of like Kat in 10TIHAY)
Disclaimer: I donât own Stranger Things :) gif isnât mine :DÂ Â

Teenage Dirtbag
'Cause I'm just a teenage dirtbag, baby Yeah, I'm just a teenage dirtbag, baby Listen to Iron Maiden, baby, with me, ooh
âDUSTIN! Hurry up! Steve is gonna be here any second! Weâre gonna be late!â you smashed your hand against the bathroom door, yelling for your brother to get ready. You had been feeling anxious all day. Something inside you told you that today might not be a good day and, as much as you tried not to, you took it out on Dustin.
âIâm coming! Geez, calm down!â
You rolled your eyes and walked over to the kitchen to finish your coffee and wash the dishes but you tripped over a bag full of garbage.
âUgh! Dustin!â you yelled as he walked over to you.
âWhat? What did I do now?â
âThe trash is your choreâ you complained, grabbing the bag and handing it to him. âWhen I say take out the trash, I mean outside of the house. To the trashcan!â
âMaybe you can show me for next timeâ he laughed.
âMaybe I can give your Nintendo to goodwillâ you smirked back, erasing the smirk off his face.
âFine, sorryâ he said, grabbing the bag and going outside.
âLetâs go!â you said as soon as you heard Steveâs car parking on your driveway.
âWait, whereâs lunch?â
âOh, shit!â you said, grabbing some of the money you left near the door in case Dustin needed to order food. âHereâ you said, grabbing $10 for yourself and giving Dustin $5.
âWhy do you get $10 and I get $5?â Dustin complained.
âTake out the freaking trash!â you replied, mocking his exact same tone.
âGood morning, Hendersons!â Steve smiled as you got in the front and Dustin got in the back.
âThanks for the ride, Steveâ you said. âRobin still out of town?â you asked, confused to not see her there already.
âYeah, sheâs coming back next week-â
âWhy are we even going this early? School doesnât start for another hour!â Dustin asked on the ride to school. âAnd why do you always ride shotgun?â
âBecause Iâm Steveâs favorite Hendersonâ you smirked. âAnd Steve has an early shift, so I wasnât going to make him wait for usâ you explained. âPlus, I have to get together with Nancy for something about the school paperâ you informed him.
âWell, I could have taken my bike-â
âJust say thank you, Dustin!â
âThank youâ he said, rolling his eyes a little.
âHey, arenât those your old friends?â Dustin asked as Steve drove into the parking lot. You looked to where he was pointing to see the basketball players hanging outside the school with some of the cheerleaders.
âNoâ both you and Steve replied at the same time.
âAre you sure?â Dustin asked, confused. He recognized some of them, although he had noticed you never talked to them anymore.
âIâm sureâ you said, rolling your eyes. âJust⌠stay away from them, okay?â
âOkayâ he said, unconvinced. âUm, are we having movie night?â he asked Steve.
âYeah, my houseâ he nodded.
âCool. I think weâre going to Mikeâs after school, so Iâll see you thereâ he told them.
âOkayâ you nodded. Dustin started opening his door but you stopped him. âDustyâ you said, making him look confused at you. You rarely called him that anymore. âNothing⌠Iâll see you at Steveâsâ you told him and he nodded before he got out.
You saw him make his way over to Mike, Will, Lucas, Max, and El and you heard him complain about you and all of them saying how you used to be fun and happy all the time. You let out a sigh of frustration, throwing your head back on the chair.
âYou know, you could just⌠tell himâ Steve shrugged.
âIâm goodâ you told him.
âDustinâs just worried about youâ he insisted. âAnd to be honest, so am I-â
âHarrington, I know my brotherâs your best friend now-â
âThatâs not trueâ he glared at you.
âBut you were my friend first and you promised we wouldnât discuss this with Dustinâ you told him.
âIâm just⌠a little confused, okay? Why did you all of the sudden stop hanging out with them like, what, a year ago?â
âYou did too!â you argued.
âWell, yeah, because theyâre assholes-â
âExactlyâ you told him.
âBut, now youâre here alone, because I graduated, I just donât want you to be alone-â
âIâm fine on my ownâ you shrugged. âPlus⌠Eddieâs my friend-â
âOh, right⌠Munson. Thatâs another thing. I know something happened last Halloween, okay? You mysteriously stop hanging out with all of our friends, you started wearing darker clothes, darker makeup and you start hanging around with Eddie, the freak, Munson-â
âI told you to stop calling him thatâ you glared at him.
âWhich you also hide from Dustin-â
âWell, I just donât want him to think that the only reason he and his friends are in Hellfire is because I asked Eddie to look after them-â
âBut you did-â
âSteve, it is too early in the morning to have this discussionâ you said, rubbing your temple.
âFine⌠Iâll drop itâ he said. âFor nowâ he added, making you glare at him a little. âYou working today?â
âNo, itâs my day offâ you informed him.
âCool, want me to pick you up after work?â
âYou sure itâs not too much trouble?â
âNah, youâre my favorite Henderson after allâ he smirked.
âI knew it!â you said, kissing his cheek before you opened the door. âSee you later, Stevieâ you said.
âHave a good day, kidâ he waved at you.
He noticed you walking close to the group of jocks and they yelled something at you but you simply flipped them off and kept walking. Steve felt a bit uneasy about it but decided he would ask you about it when he picked you up. Sooner or later, you had to talk to him.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
âHey, princessâ you felt a small smile, trying to contain the butterflies you felt in your stomach when you heard that voice. You turned around to see Eddie smiling at you.
âMunson, I thought you were standing me up todayâ you said as he sat at your usual table in the woods, past the bleachers.
âWouldnât dream of it, loveâ he said, sitting in front of you. âWhat do you got for me today?â
âI forgot to make lunch, so I had to grab something from the vending machineâ you said, putting your cigarette out. âSo, pretzels, or Reeses Pieces?â
âYou just⌠happened to pick my two favorite things?â he smirked. âIf I didnât know any better, Henderson, I would think you like meâ he mocked you.
âUh-huh, is that a peanut butter and jelly sandwich? And two cokes?â your sked, looking at his bag.
âGrape jelly. Your favoriteâ he winked at you.
âHuh, if I didnât know any better, Munson, I would think you like meâ you returned the smirk.
âWanna split it?â he asked and you nodded as you split the three things between the two of you. âSo, what are you working on?â he asked, about to grab your sketchbook.
âNothing!â you quickly said, putting it away before he could get it.
âOh, that doesnât sound suspicious at allâ he mocked you. âCome on, show me!â
âItâs just⌠a work in progressâ you told him. âItâs not finished yetâ you insisted.
âFine, be all mysteriousâ he chuckled. âHey, did you get new colored pencils?â he asked, grabbing one of them.
âOh, um⌠y-yeahâ you said nervously. âThere was a discount at the store where I work and-â
âReally?â he raised his eyebrow at you. âOr were your old ones⌠broken?â
âUm⌠there may have been an⌠incident-â
âWho?â he asked, his tone turning angry.
âIt doesnât matter, Eddie-â
âYes, it does! Why didnât you tell me?â
âBecause I donât want you to get into a fight and not graduate with me this yearâ you told him, making him laugh just barely. âLook, itâs fine. I really did get a discount andâŚâ you said, looking through your bag. âI got markers tooâ you smiled brightly at him. âLook!â
You stood from your place and sat down on the table with your feet on the bench next to Eddie. You grabbed his hand and placed it on your knee, which was not an uncommon thing for you to do whenever you drew something on him but he felt his cheeks blushing. You quickly drew a small doodle of the Hellfire symbol using different colors and you smiled when you were done, showing it to him. Eddie rarely get to see that smile on you and he loved it when it happened.
âHoly shit!â he smiled, looking down at his hand. It looked cooler than the one in his shirt.
âDo you like it?â you asked, bashfully.
âI love it, princess! This is amazing!â he said, looking back at you. âYouâre amazingâ he smiled.
âUm, thanksâ you said, looking down at his hand and feeling your cheeks burn. You could not ignore the butterflies in your stomach any longer. You grabbed his hand and stroked your thumb against your new drawing. âUh, a-actually, what I didnât want to show you is um⌠kind of⌠a surpriseâŚâ you admitted, not facing him.
You saw Eddieâs hand untangle from yours and make its way up to your chin, lifting your head gently and making you look into his beautiful, chocolate-brown eyes.
âA surprise?â he asked, smiling brightly. You simply nodded, unable to form any words by the way he was looking at you. âWhat is it?â
âIf I told you, it wouldnât be a surprise!â you chuckled. âI just want to finish it before I show it to youâ you told him.
âOkay, fineâ he said, as his hand suddenly found its way back to yours and you started playing with his rings. âBut⌠you promise youâll show it to me when itâs done?â
âI promise. I mean, itâs kind of⌠for youâ you told him.
âReally?â he asked, and you nodded.
âYeah, itâs kind of⌠a thank youâ you admitted. âFor everythingâ you added. âEven for my brother and his friends. Thanks for letting them in Hellfireâ you told him. âI know they're a bit weird but⌠I love them and I'm happy they found someone like youâ you said.
âMy pleasure, princessâ he told you. âTheyâre cool kidsâ he chuckled. âEspecially Dustinâ he added. âAlthough he keeps asking me why I always have different doodles all over meâ he chuckled.
âYeah, heâs pretty smartâ you laughed too. âI donât think itâll be long before he realizes about usâ you said, without really thinking. âI m-mean uh-â
âUs?â Eddie smirked. âAnd exactly what would he realize?â he asked, getting up and towering a little over you, placing his hands on both your sides. âThat weâre friends?â he asked, with the same smirk still plastered on his face.
âY-yeah, I guessâ you said innocently.
âWould he mind?â
âUm- I donât think so, I just⌠donât want him to think that youâre only his friend b-because of meâ you explained.
âOh, he wouldnât think thatâ he assured you, as he gently brushed your hair away from your face. âAnd⌠what if he thinks thereâs something else between us?â
âIs there?â you asked, as you felt him getting closer. And then the bell rang. The stupid bell rang. âFuck!â
âIgnore thatâ he pleaded.
âNo! We have a Math testâ you said, pushing him away and gathering all of your things. âI told you, Eddie, youâre graduating this year, with me. Letâs go!â you threatened him.
âYouâre killing me, sweetheartâ he said, as you pulled him with you but he was stronger and he pulled you back. âTo be continued?â he smirked.
For the first time in what felt like a lifetime, you smiled. It was a different smile, one that you didnât think you had in you anymore and you could see Eddie noticed it. You leaned in and kissed his cheek.
âTo be continued, Munsonâ you said, before you started pulling him towards the school despite his protests.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
You were waiting in the parking lot for Steve. As much as you wanted, you were not able to be with Eddie alone the rest of the day. You were hoping to catch him at the end but, as a surprise to no one, he got detention, so here you were.
âWell, if it isnât my lucky day?â
You cursed under your breath, silently begging for Steveâs car to appear any moment now. But no such luck.
âHargroveâ you sighed. âOh, if it isnât Tweedle-dee and Tweedle-dumâ you smirked at Jason and Andy, standing with Billy.
âFancy meeting you here, babeâ Billy smirked at you.
âCanât say the sameâ you said, trying to walk away but he stepped in front of you. âWhat do you want, Hargrove?â
âSee, I have a question for youâ he said. âAndy here, says he saw you coming out of those woods with Eddie fucking Munsonâ he said, getting closer to you and making you take a step back. âIs that true?â
âI fail to see how thatâs any of your business, reallyâ you glared at him.
âWell, for starters, I think Munson can do betterâ he said, making Andy and Jason laugh.
âLovelyâ you rolled your eyes, trying to walk away again but they blocked your way.
âAw, did I strike a nerve there? Do you have a crush on Munson?â he mocked you.
âJust, leave me alone, Billy-â you said, trying to leave but, you felt your sketchbook being taken from you.
âOh, what is this?â Jason asked, opening the sketchbook. âDo you write your love letters to that freak here?â he laughed.
âGive that back!â you said, trying to get it back from him.
âOh, itâs even better than that!â he said, showing your sketches to Billy and Andy who started laughing.
âGive me that!â you said as he tossed it to Billy.
âLooks like youâre a bit obsessed with him, babeâ he said, looking at your drawings. âIâm guessing you wouldnât want anything to happen to this, would you?â he said, tearing a few pages apart.
âBilly, give it back!â you yelled, but he pushed you back, making you fall to the ground, your hands aching when they hit the pavement.
âWhoops, clumsy meâ he said, tossing your sketchbook on a nearby water puddle.
âStop it!â you said, getting up and trying to get to it but Andy pushed you away.
âHEY! WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING!?â
âYou want something, freak?â Jason yelled, smirking.
âOh, speak of the devilâ Billy smirked as Eddie approached all of you.
âGet the fuck away from herâ he said, making his way over to Billy.
âWhy donât you keep walking and mind your business, freak?â
âYou know, I gotta say, even for you, itâs pretty low, three guys against one girlâ he smirked, erasing Billyâs.
âYou really think itâs worth it? Standing up for that slut-?â
Before Billy could go on, Eddie quickly punched him in the face.
âEddie!â
âYouâre dead, freak!â Jason said, punching Eddie back while Billy got up, laughing.
âLooks, like you got some fire in you, Munson!â he yelled before he punched him too.
âEddie!â you yelled, trying to get to him but Andy stopped you. âStop it!â
âYou having fun, Munson?â Billy smirked as he landed punches on Eddie before he grabbed him by his jacket. âNo one tells me what to do!â he said before he pushed him to the ground again. He then threw himself at Eddie and started landing punch after punch, like a madman. The last time you had seen Billy like this was when he fought Steve and it shook you to your core.
âSTOP IT! BILLY, STOP!â
âYou really think you traded up, babe?â he smirked, looking at you. âHeâs even worse than Harrington!â
âSTOP IT, PLEASE!â you said, as tears started welling up in your eyes.
âAw, you gonna cry, princess?â he said, mocking Eddieâs voice with the last word.
As if your prayers were finally answered, a car reeled in front of you, almost hitting Jason.
âWhat the fuck, Harrington?â he asked as Steve got out of the car.
âWhat the fuck is going on here?â
âCome join the party, Harringtonâ Billy smirked at him, finally letting go of Eddie. âReady for round two?â
âYeah, let me just get my friend hereâ Steve smirked, grabbing his bat out.
âDude, what the fuck?â Andy said, letting go of you, and slowly walking away with Jason. You quickly ran over to Eddie, pushing Billy aside.
âReady to go, Hargrove?â Steve said, walking closer to him as he and the other two stepped away.
âYou know what? Sheâs not even fucking worth itâ Billy said, throwing one last glare at you. âLetâs just goâ he told Jason and Andy as they walked away.
âEddie! Oh my God, Eddie! Can you hear me?â
âDo I have a concussion or did King Steve Harrington just save my ass?â
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
âOuch!â
âSorry, Iâm sorryâ you apologized, taking the cotton ball away.
You were now in Steveâs kitchen, cleaning Eddie up. You carefully pulled his hair up in a messy bun with your scrunchie so you could see him better. You placed your hand softly on his cheek and your heart broke seeing a big purple bruise printed on his left eye. He looked at you with his huge, deep brown puppy eyes and you had to take a deep breath to not lose it right there because you knew he needed you.
âYou okay?â Eddie asked, worriedly.
âM-me? Youâre asking if Iâm okay? Eddie, Billy and Jason just beat the shit out of you, and youâre asking if Iâm okay?â
âFirst of all, Iâd like to think that I handled that with dignity. Secondly, you fell to the ground and that idiot Andy was hurting youâ he said, grabbing your hand and tracing his thumb gently on the bruises forming in your arms where Andy grabbed you.
âIâm really sorry, Eddieâ you said, coming out in a whisper and tracing your thumb against the now fading drawing you made earlier on his hand. A small tear fell down your cheek and Eddie quickly wiped it away before he cupped your cheek.
âPrincess, you have nothing to be sorry forâ he assured you.
âYes, I do! You wouldnât have gotten hurt if it wasnât for meâ you insisted.
âHeyâ he said, pulling you closer to him. âI would do it all over again, loveâ he smiled at you.
âHey, manâ Steve said, coming into the kitchen and making you and Eddie jump apart. âUh, sorry, I didnât mean to interrupt. I got some clean clothes for youâ he said offering Eddie a shirt and some sweatpants.
âThanks, manâ Eddie smiled, grabbing the clothes from him. âIâm uh- gonna go change and Iâll get out of your way-â
âWeâre having movie nightâ Steve blurted out of the sudden. âWeâre ordering pizza and Dustin, Mike, and the rest are coming over. If youâd like to stayâ he offered.
âOh, I wouldnât want to intrude, man-â
âYouâre not intruding. Itâs the least I can do after you got hit for meâ you told him.
âYou keep bruising my ego, Hendersonâ he smirked at you. âWhat are we watching?â Eddie asked, interested.
âGremlinsâ you told him.
âSeriously?â he asked, raising his eyebrow at Steve.
âDonât look at me, man. It was her turn to choose the movie!â he said pointing at you.
âShut up, you two. Gremlins is an awesome movie!â
âIsnât that what you call your brother and his friends?â Eddie laughed. âI didnât know that was your favorite movie, princessâ he said. âWell, how can I say no to that masterpiece and pizza, I really canâtâ he said, leaving the kitchen.
âSoâŚâ Steve started.
âSo?â
âAre we going to talk about what happened today or are we just going to pretend nothing happened?â
âWhat do you want me to say?â
âWell, you can choose between telling me why your sketchbook has smudgy drawings of Eddieâ he said, opening your wet, torn, destroyed sketchbook. âOr why Hargrove and his friends were beating the shit out of him in the parking lotâ he added.
âSteve, I donât want to talk about it-â
âWell, tough. Look, weâve been friends for a very long time now. I told you why I stopped talking to Tommy and Carol and all of our friends but you never told me why you did and somehow Munson knows!â he argued. âI get that you donât tell Dustin everything because you want to protect him but what is so horrible that you couldnât tell me?â
âYou donât want to know-â
âYes, I do! Youâre my best friend! You can tell me anything!â
âYouâre gonna hate me!â
âWhat? No! I swear, okay? Nothing you say will make me hate you! Weâve been through enough shit that you should know that already-â
âI slept with Billy!â you blurted out.
âW-what?â Steve asked, hoping he hadnât heard you right.
âWhat?â another voice asked, from another side of the kitchen. Dustin.
âOh, you have to be fucking kidding me!â you said, feeling like you were going to throw up. âWhat are you doing here?â
âWe all just got here, I was looking for youâ he said, walking closer to you and Steve. âYou slept with Billy Hargrove, what the fuck is wrong with you?â
âDustin!â Steve warned.
âYou know what? I donât want to deal with this right nowâ you said, grabbing your damped sketchbook and walking out of the house to Steveâs backyard. Dustin was about to follow you but Steve stopped him.
âLook, I get that youâre upset but youâre not going out there if youâre only going to upset your sister more. She had a hard day-â
âWell, how would I know that, Steve? She doesnât talk to me!â
âWhatâs with all the yelling?â Eddie said, coming back into the kitchen.
âEddie? What are you doing here?â Dustin asked confused. âWhat the fuck happened to you?â
âUh- I amâŚâ he looked at Steve, unsure as to what to say.
âOkay, what the fuck is going on? And what are you two and my sister hiding from me?â
âWeâre not hiding anything from you. You need to calm down and we can go sort this out, okay?â
âFineâ Dustin said, unconvinced.
âYou promise you wonât snap at her like you just didâ Steve glared at him a little.
âOkayâ he sighed, rolling his eyes. The three of them walked outside to find you sitting on one of Steveâs pool chairs. Steve and Eddie sat next to you and Dustin sat on the edge of the one you were sitting in. âUh, heyâ he said, nervously. âUm-â he continued when both Steve and Eddie glared at him. âIâm sorry I snapped at you earlierâ he muttered.
âItâs fine, Dustyâ you said, sitting up and hugging your legs to you.
âLook, Dustin and I are just worried about youâ Steve continued. âWe donât want to push you or anything, we just⌠want to know whatâs going on with youâ he added. You looked up at Eddie and he softly nodded at you. He really wanted to hold your hand but he figured Dustin might freak out about it too.
âUmâŚâ you took a deep breath. âLook, I know that⌠Iâve kind of been pulling awayâ you started. âAnd Iâm sorry, itâs justâŚâ you sighed. âIt was a stupid mistake and I didnât want either one of you to hate meâ you admitted.
âWhat- uh, when?â Dustin stuttered. âUm, no, y-you goâ he said.
âIt just happened onceâ you informed them.
âAt⌠last yearâs Halloween party?â Steve guessed and you nodded.
âLook, I was⌠really drunk and, dad had just left and⌠mom was kind of a mess and⌠I donât know, I guess I was tooâ you said, sadly.
âWait, I was there that night, why didnât you tell me anything?â Steve asked, confused.
âYou had your own shit going onâ you reminded him. âWith Nancyâ you added. âSo, after you left I got drunker and⌠then I donât know, Billy was just there and⌠it happenedâ you sighed. âAnd after I felt so awfulâ you told them. âWhen I came down I ran into Eddie and he saw I was upsetâ you explained. âHe drove me home and⌠he stayed with me and he made sure I was okayâ you smiled. âThatâs how we became friends-â
âYou two are friends?â Dustin asked. âI knew I recognized your doodlesâ he said, looking at the metalhead.
âSorry I didnât tell youâ you told Dustin. âI just⌠didnât want to get into the whole thing and⌠itâs not really the conversation you have with your little brotherâ you admitted.
âI get that but⌠we used to talk about everythingâ Dustin said, sadly. âWe were always kind of a team and for the past year it just felt like⌠you hated meâ he said.
âDustyâ you said, sitting closer to him and hugging him. âI could never hate youâ you assured him. âI am so sorry I pushed you away, I was just⌠so embarrassed about what happened and, I kind of wanted to forget the whole thing and I guess that in the midst of it all I just⌠ended up pushing everyone awayâ you explained.
âSo, what happened today?â Dustin asked, confused.
âWell, I was waiting for Steve to pick me up and Billy and his friends just started being idiotsâ you told him. âEddie saw and tried to help meâ you continued. âAnd then Steve got there with his bat and they went awayâ you told him.
âSo, thatâs why you tell me to stay away from them? I mean, I always knew Billy was a dick but⌠all of your friends?â
âWell, yeah. I told Billy that if he ever said a word about what happened to anyone, Iâd tell everyone he cried like a bitch and he had a small dickâ you said, making the three of them laugh a little. âAnd then, either I just stopped talking to them or they would stop talking to me and⌠it wasnât just Billy, you know? You were rightâ you said, looking at Steve. âThey were all just⌠assholesâ you admitted.
âI could have told you that a long time agoâ Eddie chuckled.
âYou okay?â Dustin asked you.
âYeahâ you smiled. âIâm sorry⌠about⌠everythingâ you told him. âBoth of youâ you said, looking at Steve.
âDonât worryâ Dustin smiled at you. âI love you dumb-dumbâ he said, putting his fist so you would bump it.
âLove you too, dumb-dumbâ you smiled back and bumped his fist. âNo more liesâ you promised and he nodded, smiling.
âItâs fineâ Steve said, getting up and kissing your head. âCâmon little Henderson, letâs go set everything upâ Steve said, patting Dustin on his back.
âWait, why do I have to go?â he complained, still getting up.
âJust be nice to your sister, man, sheâs been through a lotâ Steve complained.
âWhat about me? I have been through a lot too!â he said, dramatically as they went inside, leaving you and Eddie alone.
âHeyâ you smiled back at Eddie.
âHi, princessâ he said, moving over to take Dustinâs place in front of you. âHow are you feeling?â
âNot so badâ you sighed. âI still would have preferred not to discuss my sex life with my little brother but⌠it is what it isâ you chuckled.
âSorry about your sketchbook, loveâ he said, looking at it on the floor.
âItâs okayâ you sighed, going through the damped pages. âIt just⌠might take me a little longer to finish your surprise nowâ you said, sadly.
âWait, is that⌠is that me?â he asked, feeling his heart flutter.
âIt⌠was supposed to beâ you told him. âI mean, your D&D characterâ you muttered. âI⌠wanted to um⌠I was trying to get it right and I thought you m-might like it-â
âItâs perfect, princessâ he smiled at you.
âItâs ruined, Eddieâ you chuckled.
âWell, then I guess I need to get you another sketchbook, loveâ he said, grabbing it from you.
âYou donât have to get me one, Eddieâ you smiled as he scootched closer to you.
âJesus, Henderson would you just let me do something nice for youâ he smiled, cupping your cheek with his hand.
âYou do nothing but nice things for me, Munsonâ you smiled.
âWhat can I say? You bring out the best in me, sweetheartâ he smiled back.
âWell, in that case, maybe you can do one more nice thing for meâ you said, pulling him by his shirt, well, Steveâs shirt and he pulled you gently, brushing his thumb against your cheek.
âGladly, princessâ he said, smiling before he finally connected his lips with yours. He felt you smiling against his lips as you started deepening the kiss before you were rudely interrupted.
âHey guys, pizzaâs here- what the fuck?â you jumped apart when you heard Dustinâs voice again, with Lucas, Will, and Max standing next to him, trying not to laugh. âYou two are together? I thought there were no more lies!â
âWould you believe me that this literally just happened, Henderson?âÂ
The End

Stobin Mandalorian AU part 1
(aka s3 stobin accidentally acquire a magic baby)
[You Are Here] [2] [3] [4]
Itâs Robin that first hears the baby crying. She insists itâs coming from the vents on her right side â Steveâs left â but the concussionâs left everything kind of soupy so it takes him a few minutes to pick it out from the ever-present hum of the gate-laser and the rush of blood through his own ears. Once he notices it though, itâs hard to stop.
Itâs a sad, lonely sort of crying that makes his heart ache. Robin makes a dubious sort of noise when he mentions this and insists that itâs probably just hungry â which Steve has to admit is likely, none of the Russians theyâve met so far can really be described as ânurturingâ â but something in his gut tells him thatâs not it.
He doesnât get the chance to say anything before the Russians come back with the doctor, and then they have a whole new set of problems to worry about.
The mysterious blue goop makes everything a million times soupier and having pliers around his fingernail is not great, but then Dustin and Erica are there and everythingâs great again. Super great, even.
âCan you two hurry up?â Dustin hisses, pulling Steve upright when he starts to list to the side.
Itâs a little difficult to navigate when your head is soup and your bones are blue and goopy and youâre bleeding from at least three places you werenât bleeding from this morning, and Steve makes a valiant attempt to tell Dustin this because itâs important information he needs to know. He starts, then stops because he can barely hear himself over the siren and honestly this is just like earlier when he was trying to hear theâ oh right.
âBaby,â Steve says, and Robin whips her head around in slow motion to stare at the vent.
âDid you just call me a baby?â Dustin demands, shoving them into the hallway.
âNooo, no, no,â Steve insists. He takes two steps in the direction Dustin is going, then checks to see where the vent leads. Itâs going in the other direction. He turns around. âBaby. The baby. Gotta get the baby.â
âItâs hungry,â Robin says decisively, even though Steveâs almost positive thatâs not the problem.
âI donât know why these two idiots are so focused on it but I did hear a baby,â Erica says, and Dustin groans.
âAnd you didnât say anything?â
âI didnât think I was the only one around here with working ears,â she says scathingly. âClearly I was wrong.â
Steve and Robin are already halfway down the hall. Robin stops, cocking her head like a bird, and gasps.
âI hear it! This way!â
She books it around a corner, and she might be only going half as fast as she usually does but sheâs still a lot faster than Steve. He stumbles after her, clutching at the weird tubes on the wall for support.
âGet back here!â Dustin hisses, tugging at Steveâs arm. âWe have to go!â
âSteve!â Robin shouts at the top of her lungs. âI found the baby!â
Steve manages to drag both himself and Dustin around the corner and into a small room with a metal door. Clearly he needs to start making Dustin exercise because he should not be weaker than Steve is when his bones are soup. Dustin should have solid bones â he drinks a lot of milk, and itâs like, scientifically proven that milk makes your bones stronger. Itâs that vitamin â or is it a mineral? Caâ Cancer? No, wrong one. Ca-something. Robin would know.
Anyway Dustin has strong bones so obviously itâs a muscle thing thatâs the reason why his arms are really weak and Steve should make him play basketball about it.
Robinâs holding a baby.
âPut that down,â Dustin insists, letting go of Steve to gesture at Robin. She pouts and cuddles the baby closer.
Itâs such a cute, perfect baby too. Steve stumbles closer so he can look at the perfect baby. It has soft wisps of brown hair and squishy pink cheeks, and when Robin smooths a thumb over those squishy baby cheeks it stops crying and opens its big brown eyes.
âSteve,â Robin says, staring at him with her own wide eyes, âitâs a girl baby.â
âSheâs perfect,â Steve whispers, and he wants to hold her so so bad but he canât even hold himself up right now and the only thing worse than not holding her is dropping her so he has to leave her with Robin even though it kind of makes him want to cry.
Heâs always wanted a baby.
âOkay,â he turns back to Dustin, whoâs looking very stressed. âNow we can go.â
âWhat do you mean ânow we can goâ?â
âWe have the baby, letâs go!â
âWe canât just steal a baby!â
âYes we can,â Robin says, and starts walking out the door. âSee? Weâre stealing her. Easy peasy.â
âButâ!â
âLetâs go, nerd!â Erica says, shoving them all out of the room. âCry about it later, we need to leave!â
Steve stops to grab a few baby things, though there isnât much. A white blanket, a few cloth diapers, and a thick stack of folders â the last of which arenât baby things, but he assumes theyâll be important anyway. The stitching on the corner of the blanket reads âĐваâ, the same as the label on her metal crib.
âAba,â he mutters, following them to the weird red car. âLike the band?â
Well, itâs probably a beautiful name for a baby girl. In Russian.

you can put the word fuck once in every season of nuwho. Where is it going?
what a great question!
s1: i wanted to choose something funny, but i think nine screaming FUCKING KILL YOURSELF at that dalek would go hard af. but alsoâŚâŚ nine and rose have the kind of relationship where iâm sure sheâd jokingly say âoh fuck youâ every time the doctor takes a cheap shot at humans
s2: i already posted tonight about wanting ten to be allowed to say âfuck you, mickeyâ (specifically in rise of the cybermen when mickey gets mad at him for favouring rose). but right now i kind of love the image of rose in doomsday throwing herself at that wall and screaming FUCK!!!!!!
s3: the tensimm fan in me wants to replace âare you asking me out on a date?â with âare you trying to fuck?â. but i think it would be more gratifying if, in the same episode, we got to see martha say âfuck you, iâll do what i likeâ to the doctor when he tells her not to call home
s4: this is DONNA weâre talking about. you expect me to choose just one? well. alright. âi was asleep, in my clothes, like a fucking kid!â. imagine how much it would hurt if all this time sheâs been censoring herself and then, with her memory wiped, sheâs suddenly back to cussing the hell out of everyone she meets
2009/2010 specials (yes im cheating shhh): in the end of time: âi had fucking estatesâ.
s5: river: ooh, iâm going to be a professor someday? doctor: (softly) fuuuuuuuckâŚ.
s6: instead of that amazing âthe doctor is very dear to me. but you know what else he is? not hereâ speech that amy gives, she should just say âfuck you madame kovarianâ and murder her in cold blood. genuinely like, amy was exhibiting insane restraint for a mother whoâd had her child taken from her.
s7: âi didnât know when i was well off. all fucking twelve of them.â âno sir â all fucking thirteen!â
s8: again, this is TWELVE. almost every line feels like a pg malcolm tucker. but iâm going to go with dark waterâs âcan you hurry up please or iâm going to hit you with my fucking shoeâ
s9: easiest one yet: âget up, off your fucking arse, and winâ.
s10: missy and the master: âhold meâ âfuck meâ âmake meâ (this scene made me queasy but those two are horribly fucked up and would 100% say this)
s11: i have only seen this season in snippets but i think someone in ârosaâ has got to tell a racist to go fuck themselves
s12: during the masterâs whole pathetic âwahhh kneel call me masterâ spiel i think the doctor should have just told him to fuck off. when i saw that scene i was yelling at the screen for him to fuck off so i think she should be allowed to tell him to as well. or maybe spray him with a water pistol like a bad cat
s13: for some reason the first thing that comes to mind is evil dan but tbh he doesnât need to say fuck. heâs already powerful enough. instead in that opening scene when thirteen is trying to get the voice activated handcuffs to open: âRELEASE!!! oh, maybe i was scottish when i set them upâŚâŚ.. fucking RRRRRELEASE!!!!!!!!â
s13 specials (cheating again shh): tegan: and yes, i WOULD like to go in the fucking tardis!!! (alternatively: âi know these teeth⌠what⌠WHAT⌠WHAT THE FUCK????â)
#this was so much fun thank you anon#please send any and all doctor who asks my way#doctor who#hob.txt#ask#anon#ninth doctor#tenth doctor#eleventh doctor#twelfth doctor#thirteenth doctor

Live-Read: The Remington Comic [PART 3]
TOME 12
What is this... thing? This is some very strange magic. We need to have a closer look. Do you really think you can escape that easily? Admit that... it's not like you can escape down there easy and avoid all the traps.
Joris's first reaction to this is literally "i NEED to know what the fuck that is. and if i have to take these two injured people there, so be it."
Also, yes, Ush's tower has a lot of traps. Love how Joris went up here with no plan of how to go down. I guess he really believes in his luck... just like an ecaflip.
When I saw a little guy climb the wall, I was⌠stunned. But to leave this place with a wounded man and a battered eniripsa, that's another matter. I know, but what do you propose? To fight? You saw me come in, and you didn't raise the alarm, which is quite unusual⌠I can still do it. Getting out of here before everything collapses would be better⌠for all of us. Obviously, the urgency of the situation benefits you. But we'll deal with that later. Just follow me!
"if you wanted to beat the shit out of me, you would have done it already." Never change, Joris.
These panels go out to my Ush enjoyer readers. Also: this comic takes place around 2 years before Wakfu the Animated Series. Ush is 7-9yo at best by the time of the OVA, and 10 by seasons 3-4. This might point to the fact that Ecaflip demigods age faster on their next lives.
That, or it might point to Ankama not giving a shit.
But he does look like a (tall) child in the OVA, and like a teen by time of S3-4
He has his muscular years in the future. Also I guess his cat lovers don't give a shit, but eh, there's bigger ethical concerns about their relationship than the age of his physical body.
Anyway, now onto what is the most important Joris moment of this comic, to me:
We must hurry. A terrible danger threatens bonta. It can't be worse than letting you escape.
Yeah, sure, lady. Joris and 2 criminals are a bigger danger to Bonta than a giant kaiju. Now, read closely, because this moment here has some fascinating Joris lines:
If Ush scares you so much, maybe it's time to run away with us. Yeah⌠no. It's not that simple. You're in love with him. That's why you can't leave your master. What?! No⌠but⌠you're crazy! It's okay to be in love. But I'm not in love with him!
(putting on tinfoil hat) Geez Joris, it almost sounds like you yourself have ecaflip issues. Like you've been unable to leave someone for centuries because you love someone too much, despite their flaws, and the way they may have hurt you. It almost sounds like you made peace with that. "It's okay to be in love", huh?
Context for the next scenes: After some time, they try to kill the kaiju, but it backfires, and Ush gets hurt instead.
nothing will stop it now⌠let's run. Opus, you're an eniripsa. Save him. Yes⌠Have mercy⌠Save him! After all the harm he's done me? What's the point? Please⌠A restorative word should give him back some energy⌠but I doubt he'll escape unscathed. Beating heart⌠You were right here. It's the best I can do⌠he'll last a few hours, but he'll⌠die of his burns. So maybe it's time for beating heart to be used.
Joris's expressions here are so beautiful... He doesn't seem too bothered by seeing Ush's burned, dying body. It's pretty funny.
You can wear Beating Heart around your neck, and it will give you all which you desire the most. Ahh⌠everything⌠that I desire? Or you can use it to annihilate this monster. If it swallows this object⌠then the power of it should stop it. I can do that, I'd rather die in glory than live through a defeat. I'm going to save Bonta! and nothing can stop me now, not even death. beating heart⌠beating heart⌠out of sight⌠out of mind⌠will you give your soul the time? beating heart⌠beating heart⌠will you give your time the soul? Ush... No...
@dullard and I have talked a lot about the relationship between Ush and Joris, despite how little of it is shown. (he is the Ush enjoyers I was mentioning. all the Ush screencaps are meant for him. hi.)
In those convos we came to the next thoughts: Ush probably views Joris as Kerubim's weird little son, or Kerubim and Atcham's pet. But also, despite Ush viewing Joris in a bit of a low light, he is much smarter and cooler than Kerubim and Atcham â truly the best thing to come from his cringe brothers. He likes toying with him more than he likes toying with Kerubim and Atcham â because Joris doesn't react easily, which makes his reactions more satisfying.
Despite that, they both care for Bonta, and being "a good person", in their own unique ways. So, it is easy for them to put aside their differences, for the most part.
I personally find it fascinating how subtle Joris is about suggesting Ush to sacrifice himself. As subtle as a wrecking ball.
You should never have stolen it from me. Yes⌠but thanks to us, it was used to save Bonta. And me⌠who will save me from the curse now that Ush is gone? You must seek the wisdom that remains in you, not the instinct that dominates you. this wisdom will one day overcome your curse.
[always sunny in philadelphia music begins playing] Grany stays a cat for at least the next 10 years, maybe longer, maybe forever.
...Joris has too much hope in these two.
Also, small personal comment: Joris is so pretty on the second image... Very cute head shape. You can just see his baby-ish cheeks, lmaoo.
Beating heart, beating heart⌠erase the weapons, bide your time.
This is like a renaissance painting. Some guys celebrating. Grany disgusted by Remington making out with his Opus (who seems to have left him by Wakfu series' time LMAOO), somewhere off-screen, there's a crying woman because Ush is fucking dead and Joris didn't bother telling her something like "Don't worry he'll remember you. Dying isn't much of an issue for him." Instead, Joris is going away, hands behind his back, reciting poetry again.
Beautiful.
Yes, master... Your meal just arrived. Nine lives... And I remain as devoted as ever to each of your reincarnations. You need a new name for this new life. (Hoping he won't be as bad-tempered as before.)
Bad news, bestie: he will be. His previous deaths hadn't fixed this either.
Tell me, young lady... You seem very sad. Oh... it's a long story. A love story? Great stories... are always love stories.
I kind of hate Joris for giving her the wonderful idea of wasting her mortal life on some immortal guy who might never love her back. But also. He did give advice based on first-hand experience. To him, spending your entire life with a demigod is both noble and awesome and fulfilling.
Except that's his family, he's also immortal like his family, and he kind of hates everyone else in the world who ISN'T his family, so I'll be real, I think he's biased.

I've got a one-shot idea, hopefully it will come into realization by my hands in the future. I think you all know where I got inspiration from. In the mean time I'll share the outline here.
Time: post S3 of The Boys
Homelander was in the pinnacle of human society, no one can rival him. After he took in Ryan he didn't expect his own son to try assassinating him.
Homelander : Why...?
Ryan : You're a monster. You think everyone loves you when they cheer your name but they don't. They all fear you but doesn't dare retaliate against you. But I'm their last hope! You always told me to be a great hero and I'm going to be one. Just not like you.
Betrayed by his own son, Homelander didn't have any other choice but to kill him himself. As he cradled Ryan's lifeless body in his own hands he thought to himself, why is it so hard for anyone to love him when he had tried so hard?
Homelander went to sleep that night as he grieved of his lost son.
When he woke up, he was in an unfamiliar bedroom, in unfamiliar clothes. The door opened revealing Hughie with a tray of breakfast, "Oh, You're up already? I wanted to surprise you but you surprised me instead. Did you sleep well, John?"
Homelander froze when his real name was used. Usually he would hate it to death when people use his real name because there was always a trace of disdain and fear towards him when they use it, but hearing his name spoken without a hint of malice and instead the unfamiliar feeling of... what is it... affection? Made him felt comfortable.
Homelander : Why are you calling me, John?
Hughie : So am I supposed to call my husband by his hero name now? Okay, The Homelander, hurry up and finish breakfast then shower. The others are going to be here soon.
When Hughie left the room Homelander couldn't help but felt like he had done something wrong...
Waitâhusband?
After Homelander finished showering he heard noises outside, familiar noises. When he exit the shower he saw Butcher and anger boiled in him. He unconsciously moved and slammed Butcher to the wall, ready to kill him. He was tugged by a short boy who was clearly afraid of him but braved himself, "Don't hurt him, Uncle John." Afterwards Becca picked the boy up and moved away from Homelander.
Homelander noticed the boy, they called, Ryan is different from his son. The boy had dark hair and hazel eyes, different from his Ryan's blonde hair and blue eyes.
"John! Let him go!" Now Hughie was in the picture angrily looking at him. He could hear the other's heartbeat, everyone was afraid of him except of Hughie. He unconsciously obeyed.
Butcher fell to the ground and Hughie helped him stand. He muttered apologies to both Billy and Becca and saying they'll visit the others house in the future instead. So the couple left.
Homelander was sitting down and staring blankly on the sofa. He couldn't make sense of what's happening around him. Hughie was about to get angry at Homelander but noticed the other not being himself, he seemed to be anxious and Hughie could swore he regressed back to his past self.
Hughie cupped the other's cheek, "Hey, are you okay? Breathe with me. Hear my heartbeat." He took one of Homelander's hand and put it on his neck, showing his own vulnerability. "Feel my pulse. I love you, John."
Love. That was all he wanted. He loved Maeve and believed it when she said she loved him, but in the end she hated him the whole time. He tried to seek comfort in Madelyn, he wanted any type of love the other could give. At first he was jealous of the little creature Madelyn has and wanted to capture her attention by acting out, then suddenly their love turned from maternal to romantic and he will take whatever love she was willing to give him. But in the end, she didn't love him, she was afraid of him.
Then he met Becca and Ryan, he thought they could be a happy family together and that he would finally be loved as a family. But Becca refused to forgive him and to even give him a chance, but Ryan was albeit willing to trust him so he figured he could make things right. Afterwards he met Stromfront, he had hated her in the beginning but she slithered her way into his heart, uttering words sweet as honey into his hear and he believed that she loved him he thought finally someone will love him. He was willing to love her even if she had become a cripple and disfigured as long as she loved him back but he realized what she loved was not him. It was the idea that she could use him to create her ideal world and when he refused, she killed herself, on his birthday.
Next he only had Ryan, but a miracle happened and Soldier Boy who he found out was his father came back. His heart sang in happiness, he thought all his life that he didn't have parents and he had one. He could finally have the family he always hoped, someone who will love him unconditionally. His hope was crushed when his own father was disappointed in him and tried to kill him.
All these time, Ryan was the one by his side. The one that believed him, the one that's willing to stay with him. He poured his heart hand soul into raising Ryan, hoping one day he could see the love in his eyes directed towards himself. But like everyone else, Ryan betrayed him and Homelander had to kill him with his own hands.
Why? Why? Why? Why is it so hard for someone to love him?
The flooding memories triggered his anger but he heard those words once again from the man in front of him, "I love you, John. I'm always going to be here, with you." Hughie smiled and looked at him with eyes full of... Love.
That was all he wanted.
Hughie leaned in to kiss him and Homelander never felt this kind of kiss before. The previous times was always laced with fear or lust but this time, he can feel every inch of warmth and affection the other could offer and it made his heart spark with joy. Finally, someone who truly love him.
Their kiss broke when a loud bang was at the door and another version of himself showed up by the door. "Hughie! Get away from him, that's not me!"
Homelander was thrown to the ground by the other him and they fought.
John : I've been to your world and it sickens me. You're fucking disgusting. Go back to your twisted world.
Homelander was about to continue fighting when Hughie jumped up in front of the other Homelander. "You can't hurt him."
Homelander who saw all this was once again heartbroken. "It's not fair. Why won't anyone be by my side. He's me but why am I the only one who is never loved?!! Why won't anyone fucking love me?!!"
Seeing how broken Homelander was, Hughie wanted to go over and comfort him when his husband stopped him. They both saw Homelander became transparent and he disappeared completely. He really pitied him, from the way Homelander spoke he must've been hurt badly in his original world. Is that what his husband would've been if Hughie wasn't with him?
Homelander who was back in his own world destroyed his own apartment building venting out his anger and frustration. Why was the universe so cruel letting him see the life he always wanted but doesn't let him have it.
"It's not fair.... why not me?"

imperfect boys. perfect ploys. (this is a song about tragedy) [2/6]
âMy âstoryâ is that I left a fucked-up situation and it kind of fucked me up,â heâd said. But it was the way heâd said it, like it hadnât broken him. Like it was just a fact. But Emmaâs life was a story, too. A fucked-up situation that had kind of fucked her up. She wasnât that kid anymore. Confidence could be learned. And maybeâmaybeâshe wasnât broken, either. Not if she picked up the pieces. Not if she told herself a new story. About who she was. About what she wanted. Roots, family, friends, a sense of the familiarâthese did not have to be fairy tales. âYou owe it to yourself,â Mary Margaret said. âHappy endings always start with hope.â

four. 'wouldn't you like to know?'
He watched her recitation with a kind of morbid fascination: Mother, sheriff, bail bonds, True Love. Savior. Her parents hoveredâeager, encouraging, and more than a bit alarming. Regina was sullen and Killian stayed silent because he had already won the only battle he would win today; for now, at least there would be no magic.
Emma had agreed with him.
So had the prince.
Her parentsâ eagerness, though, it rankled him in a way he could not quite pinpoint. âIf this is a game, that means you can win,â Snow White had said. True enough, in its fashion, but Panâs response to such a feat would merely be to change the rules. Were they really so naive? Whatever the Charmings had faced against the Evil Queen and even Cora was merely a prelude to what Pan could dish out and Killian was unfortunate enough to know this from experience.
A woman, a mother, the product of True Love, a savior. But sheâd left off the most salient bit. Killian knew it and Pan would have, too. It was probably why heâd sought her out in the forest and set this particular game in motion.
Emma Swan had the Look.
Which meant that would be the key to unlocking her map. He wondered if Emma knew that yet.
Her parents certainly did not. Pan was a bastard, but he wasnât wrong, was he? Here she was, surrounded by family, but still holding them aside. Â
Killian followed them into the jungle anyway. Followed her, really. Emma had done him the courtesy of respecting his experience and he would return the favor and follow her lead, even as it took them deeper into the darkness. Even as it took them into battle. Sword-to-sword against Felix, he could only shout a single warningââWatch out for their arrows! Theyâre laced with dreamshade!ââas the game shifted, became deadly. Bad form, indeed.
He saw the arrow out the corner of his eye and he was certain it had grazed the prince, but there was no time, not now, not for that, not with Emma frozen and the battle called off. Killian chose to believe the prince when he pointed to the hole in his jacket because some things were not to be borne on this island full of nightmares and Emma still had a game to win.
Still, he took himself away from the camp for a few minutes. Snow White and her daughter needed time for a decades-overdue chat and he needed a moment to get his head straight. David said he was fine; he would be fine. Emma was a survivor; she would break the spell on the map. They would find the boyâHenryâÂ
âSheâs done it!â
Killian ran. Rather, he ran as much as he could with an armload of wood for the fire. It was more of a hurried stride. But he dumped the pile and presented himself.
âThe map is working. We know where Henry is.â Emma held the map in her outstretched hand and in front ofâŚhim. Like she trusted him. Like the rules of their game had changed. Like it was just that easy.Â
âUm,â he said. âWeâre here at the southern tip of the isle. In the middle of the Dark Jungle. And Panâs campââKillian pointed with his hookââis due north.â
âThatâs where heâs keeping Henry,â Emma said.
âSo what are we waiting for?â Reginaâs impatience was visible. Palpable. And she wasnât wrong. But rushing off would be foolish.
âWell,â he said, slowly. âThe terrain is not easy. There will undoubtedly be some nasty impediments along the way.â
âWe should prepare,â David agreed. âWe only made it out of our last encounter because Pan let us.â
Killian looked at Emma and thought that it was rather because Emma had understood her answer, face-to-face with the Lost Boys. He held the evidence in his hand; either way, she was energized. Ready to take it on and start all over.
âWe need to stop playing his game and make him play ours,â she said, determined.
âAnd if I disagree?â Regina asked.
âGo ahead, but I think you know our best chance is together.â The certainty in her answer made him smile.
âExcellent show of patience, love,â he said, the endearment slipping out as the group dispersed. âThat is how you defeat a nasty little boy.â Â
âI hope so,â she said. Â
He offered her his flask, considering. Â
âIs rum your solution to everything?â But she was smiling as she said it, and took a sip.
âIt certainly doesnât hurt,â he said. It was certainly easier not to think too hardâor too muchâand certainly preferable to share it with Emma Swan than to drink it alone. âSo just who are you, Swan?â
It was a question for himself as much as it was for her, he realized. Woman, mother, sheriff, savior?
 Survivor.
âWouldnât you like to know?â she said, handing him the flask.
âPerhaps I would,â he said, yet another uncomfortable truth and compounded by the fact that Emma Swan could tell when he was lying. Which he wasnât.
Her body went rigid, her eyes wide. Killian watched her walk away and set his sights on building the fire. Grateful for the task, and grateful for the rest. The others needed to sleep. He needed a break. Time. Time to keep an eye on the prince and check for signs of poison. Â
Time to think.
They needed an ally. Someone who knew the island. They needed to get to the boy. He watched the others settle themselves, heard the sighs and the shifts and the snores of slumber.  When they woke, he decided, and he had an opportunity, he would tell them about Tink. They would try the map first, of course. Emma had paid the price of the magic and they should see where it led them. Another log, and another glance toward the surrounding woods for signs of Emmaâs return. Thatâs when he heard the voices.
Pan would be displeased, Killian thought. He would beâunkind. So Killian stayed. He sat by the fire and left the rum flask next to him as he waited. Silent, staring. He did it because he was curious and because he wanted her to see that she was not the only one chased through the night by the cries, by the demon. He heard the rustling as she returned. The rustling, and nothing else, as she sat down next to himânear, but not closeâand said nothing.
Neither did he. This, he thought, was enough.
five. do you believe in fairies?
âSon of a bitch,â Emma growled. âHow is it behind us?â She turned toward him. Him.
âYou got us lost,â Regina said. Her fingers flexed. Â
Killian swung the lantern around. âNo. No she didnât.â He was so tired. âItâs the campâPan is moving it.â
âIf Pan keeps moving the campâhow are we going to find it? How are we going to find Henry?â Again Emmaâs eyes found his. âThis whole trek has been for nothing?â
âI told you walking was idiotic,â Regina snapped. âWe can use magicââ
âPan will have shields against magic, I fear,â Killian said, his temper frayed to the breaking point. âSuch an attempt would end in your deathâand, more importantly, mine. Which is why we are walking.â He said the words slowly, as if to a small child.
âWell then?â Regina gestured expectantly. âWhatâs your idea? How are we going to find it?â
He was never going to get a better opening. âBy using someone he trusts,â Killian said. âA fairy who lived here when I was about. She might still be on the island, and she would know how to get us in. She might evenââhappy thought, indeedââshe might even have some pixie dust left. We could fly in.â
âYou mean fairy dust.â
âNo,â the prince said. âPixie dust. Itâs stronger, like nuclear fairy dust.â
Whatever that meant, it seemed to convince Emma. âWait. A fairy? Tinker Bell?â
âYou know her?â That would make all of this easier, to be sureâÂ
âEvery kid in the world knows her.â
âah. So she was just another story, like the rest of them. Perms and whatnot. But Killian thought thatâif she was still hereâTink might be persuaded. It was in her natureâall of those nights they had lain together, to ward off the darknessâthe way she had helped him keep an eye on Baelfire. Smuggling food, bringing back information. What mattered was that Emma took hold of the idea and led them back onto the trail.
They had not spoken of their shared hours by the fire but he heard the hitch in Emmaâs breath when Regina called him her âboyfriendâ. Â
âBoyfriend.â Â
A strange word for a man who had not been a boy for hundreds of years; however, if it meant that she was inclined to take his counsel and leave him for a torch-bearer he would gladly accept the title.
And when Regina said, âMark my words, this Tinker Bell will not help us,â she sounded so completely certain and all Killian could do was wonder what Regina had done to Tink and marvel at the vagaries of time and magic. When had Tink come to the island? He didnât remember. He couldnâtânot when every night was the same, over and over. Not unlike the Curse, perhaps, only he was painfully aware of each passing second. The sameness. The horror.Â
The feeling of being forever stuck in the worst version of oneself until it was the only reality.
But here and now, Killian followed Emma with his torch. Â
A light in the darkness, at least until his temper finally gave way, until Prince-bloody-Charming tripped over himself one time too many, panting as he tried and failed to catch his breath. As if this island had not already left him bleedingâevery moment, every breath, every step heâd taken since heâd agreed to take Emma Swan to save her son.
Killian had him up against a wall before he had even realized he was moving. âI saw what happened to you.â He grabbed at Davidâs shirt as if he did not already know what he would see. Â
Dreamshade.
Bloody, bollockingâ
The spread of the poison, inky black and unmistakable, pointed straight toward the princeâs heart. âIâm sorry, mate,â Killian said, and was surprised by how much he meant it.
six. the cocunut
It was the way she looked at him. Taking him in from his boots to his brows as she handed him the coconut. âConsider it an alternative to the rum,â Emma said. âIf you can open it.â
He raised an eyebrow. âOf course,â he said. He had a smile of his own in spite of everything as he waitedâa beat, and then another.
âPlease?â
âIf the lady insists,â he said with a flourish, piercing into the rind and handing it back to her. She took it, took a sip. Moved to sit down and turned back to look at him, and there was that expression again. Expectation and invitation.
If the lady insists.
He threw his coat over the log for a backrest and watched her get comfortable. She said nothing else. Neither did he. They watched the camp quiet and waited, waited for the whispers from Regina and from Tink to die down, to fade away.
âWhat do you think Regina did to her?â Emma asked.
Killian laughed, a sound that startled him. Loud and full and dimming out, however briefly, the cries in the night. She smiledâa small smile, a cautious smileâas she took another sip from the fruit. It was when he looked away, his eyes sweeping the camp, that he heard the grunt of pain as Prince Charming shifted in his sleep. âYou were brilliant today,â Killian said, meaning it. Inviting Tink to be a part of somethingâEmma Swanâs true superpower. Â
He had been a fool to ignore it. To turn his back on it. And she shared it with him anyway, offering protection from the cries of the Lost and the aches of past pain. Tink had seen it, of course. The way she had looked at himâand at Emmaâand then back at Killian. Not an invitation. A recognition. Sheâd smiled. Â
âThank you,â Emma said. They were quiet together for a long time after that, their tiny fire a feeble bulwark against the darkness of the nights and of his thoughts.
If only it helped.
As the others stirred, rising from their attempts at slumber, Davidâs face was pale and drawn. There was a tremor as he stood. Noble David. Suffering David.
Dying David.
âPointy sticks equals death.â Well, Dave, good riddance.
There was, however, a more immediate issue. Tink was painfully accurate in her assessment regarding their escape plan. Pretty words from Prince Charmingââthis family always finds a wayââwould not secure their return passage no matter how loudly enough he shouted. He could not will the words into truth with the power of his belief.
Emma seemed to agree.
âTinkâs right,â Emma said. âIf thereâs one thing Iâve learned, you never break in somewhere unless you know the way out.â
The lesson this islandâPanâhad taught all of them, and he had taught to Bae. He watched her as she said it. Her eyes. âShe just lost Neal,â Snow White had said.Â
They both had.
âSo no oneâs ever left this island without Panâs permission?â
Neal. Neal had gotten off this island. Â
He looked at Emma. âOne man. Her partner in crimeâNeal.â Killian lit the lantern and turned to go without another word. He had not moved three paces before Emma fell into step behind him.
It wasnât a long walk, as best he could reckon. Tink had told him where the cave was; he knew where he was going. Tink had helped Bae to find it in the first place, after heâd left the Jolly Roger. After Killian had left him to Panâs mercies.
Not a long walk but too long for Killianâs state of mind, and not fast enough for Prince-bloody-Charming. The man shouldered him out of the way as they pulled the hidden entrance open, panting and gasping with every movement.
âHow much longer do you think you can keep up this charade?â
âWhy do you care?â
He didnât. He didnât.
âHook!â Emmaâs voice broke through. Killian turned. He followed the sound into the cave, reaching into his pocket for his flint. âWhat is thisâoh. Nealâhe lived here?â
âAye.â He put down the flint and glared at the prince, who was smugly snapping shut the lid of his lighting device. âBae spent some time in Neverland as a boy. This wasâhis home.â The light from the wall torch flared and Killian needed to catch his breath. Heâd passed along bits and bobs to Tink, intending them for Bae: Chalk and other things an inventive lad could use for tools and writing implements and the like. But she had never told him about the cave walls full of drawingsâfull of storiesâthe wheel of the Jolly Roger scraped into the rocks of Neverland. âAnything important?â he asked, turning away from the drawings.
âI didnât know he liked drawing,â Emma said. She was quiet as her eyes and her torch scanned the walls.Â
âHe got it from his mother,â Killian whispered. Â
âOh.â Emma swallowed. âSoâyou knew him pretty well?â
âWe spent some time together.â Their eyes met, but she was the one who looked away. âAlright, Swan?â
âYeah.â She sniffed. âYeah, itâs like you saidâjust a bunch of pictures. Whatâs over there?â Â
âPlates, bowlsâthings he must have made for himself while he was here.â Snow White stood up. She held a small, round object. âAnd a tinyâŚcolander?â
He figured it out the same time Emma did, reaching for the snuff to put out the wall light as the prince pulled out his lighting device. The wick of the tiny candle glowed until Emma covered it and gasped. It was breathtaking.Â
It was a map.
But the longer he looked at the map, the more something became clearâit was not a depiction of the stars and asterisms native to Neverland. It was a jumble, the stars grouped in patterns that were almost, but not quite, depictions of the asterisms native to Neverland.
Bae had loved to study the night sky, and he was an apt pupil. Unfortunately, celestial navigation was not all that he had learned during his time on the Jolly Roger.
The map was encoded.
And that meantâ
âThe only person who can read this map isââ
âDead,â Emma finished. âThe only person who can read this map is dead.â
Killian watched her run out of the cave. Watched her parents follow her. The candlelit star map twinkled above him for another minute before he blew the candle out and left. The sounds enveloped him: The rush of air, the roaring in his ears. Snow White and Prince Charming, arguing.
Killian scrubbed his hand down his face and turned to re-enter the cave. He wasnât looking. He wasnât seeing, or else he would have side-stepped. Gone another way. Anything else, because the look on her face when he saw Emma Swan crying was bloody murder. Nothing for it but to follow her back in, determined as she was to find something new among the drawings. Something they could useâsomething that would help. Something that wasnât a reckoning of the time that did not exist on this island, not anymore, but back then when there had still been daylightâ
âNeal stopped counting,â she said, looking at him. The tears werenât dry, not yet, but they were the two that had known Bae and they were the two who knew what the marks meant. âHe lost hope, and he stopped counting, and thatâs exactly what Pan said would happen to Henryââ
âWeâre gonna rescue him,â the prince said.
âHenry doesnât know that,â Emma snapped. âWe need to get him a message. We need to start being clever.â
Snow was the one who spoke up, moving out of the cave without waiting for them to follow. Without waiting for Killian and Emma to catch her up. Just long enough for Killian to say, âI too know what feels like. To lose hope.â
It was the most honest he had been in too many years to count but when she looked at him all she said was, âIâm not in the mood.â She pushed him away, walking deliberately around him and leaving him alone and surrounded by the evidence of one of his biggest mistakes and biggest regrets.
Orânot exactly alone. Because there was David, waiting. Watching.
If the prince wanted to die, that was his choice, wasnât it?
Nothing Killian could do about it. Emma would lose a parent either wayâmaybe two, for he had a suspicion that Snow White would not leave her Charming even if the cost of that was Emma. She would be orphaned all over again.Â
Prince-bloody-Charming. Who understood nothing and yet was so sure he was right.Â
Noble. Determined. Stubborn. Principled.
And such an easy mark.
Yet another way the prince was so very like Liam.

Let's fix Star Wars!!
(I said at the start of the summer and wrote nearly 100k.) (It needed a lot of fixing ok.)
Here is a fix-it fanfic but it's for three series and the entire sequel trilogy. I will be posting about this more because I am determined to finish it soon (and then redraft it wooo!).
Description:
Somehow, Darth Maul returns. (As a force ghost.) (Somewhere Ahsoka thinks is probably the living Force.)
This changes everything.
In other words: The Mandalorian S3 but make it Din/Luke; the Ahsoka series but make it EZRA AND THRAWN SPACE ADVENTURES; and âsomehow Palpatine returnsâ is ripped to shreds because I connect plot points and add new characters.
Chapter excerpts below!
Chapter 1 excerpt:
âNot as far as I remember. Oh, wait! I wanted to rule the galaxy⌠shame.â He rolls his shoulders again. âCanât do much about that now. Being dead is quite demotivating.â âIâm sorry for your lack of motivation.â âDonât make fun, Lady Tano. Have sympathy for this poor, dead, ex-Sith.â âI guess 'dead' is your only personality trait now.â âYou preferred me before?â Ahsoka grimaces. She canât argue with that. âNo, sorry." âI will be honest,â Maul says, âI havenât felt this peaceful since before I lost the lower half of my body.â Ahsoka fixes him with a reproving look. "You were Palpatine's apprentice then." âYes.â Maul sighs wistfully, chin sinking into his hand. Ahsoka rubs her eyes. Maul has already given her a headache and they've only been talking for a minute. There is still nothing but darkness and flickering light, and Maulâs steady, yellow eyes. âDo you know where you are?â Ahsoka asks. âWhy should I help you figure this out? You didnât help me once. Also, in case I havenât made it abundantly clear, Iâm dead, so I donât care what happens to you or anyone else who is still alive. Some of us arenât so lucky, you know?â "If we figure this out, maybe I'll get peace. I really don't want you as a voice in my head." Maul grimaces. âBâahor,â he mutters. âIn the Al'har system?â "There is a dark power on that planet⌠I sense evil, but also⌠something else." His eyes burn. "Perhaps you will go there and die. That would solve this problem quickly."
Chapter 2 excerpt:
âWhat was that?â Mayan asks as they hurry towards the mountain. âThat feeling⌠theâŚâ âThe Force,â says Ahsoka. âThe Force exists all around us. It is created by all living things, it moves through them, and it binds the whole galaxy together.â âHow do you know about it?â âI was trained as a Jedi.â Ahsoka is surprised when her face remains impassive. There is no flicker of recognition, no spark of awe in her eyes. She just nods. âIn my village, people like that are called world breakers.â âThere are more of you?â âThere were.â Mayan looks away. âThe legends say that world breakers can take a planet in their hand and shatter it.â âThat's... impossible,â Ahsoka says. She wonders why she had never considered that remote planets may have different legends about the Force. âAccording to the stories, we are children of the Great Universe. If we follow its will, it will guide us... That's how it used to be.â Ahsoka means to ask if there is more to these legends, but Mayan comes to a halt suddenly and points to the rock face in front of them. âThis is where the curse is,â says the girl. âYes.â Ahsoka can sense it too. This is where the Force has been leading them. It reeks of Sith and of evil. Something terrible must have happened here.
Chapter 4 excerpt:
Fleeing vehicles kick up a cloud of dust, and Luke jumps up onto the roof of the adjacent building, crouching close in preparation to drop down. Sweat licks the back of his neck. For a stupid moment he thinks how this is the complete wrong time of day to be out, when both suns are high in the sky. Then he leaps. There isnât even time to be annoyed as the roller-wheeler careers around the corner. âPeli, I told you to keep him inside!â âHe wanted to see his dad!â Peli screams. Luke sends Grogu a withering look. The little guy sticks his tongue out from where he is held securely in the Mandalorianâs arms. âI am so sorry,â says the Mandalorian. Luke doesnât even know where to start. âItâs alright, can you hang on to him?â The roller-wheeler jolts suddenly, and Grogu squeals in whatâs probably excitement. âYeah, but you canât get through their shield with your lightsaber. I tried with mine.â âOk.â Luke tugs the vehicle slightly to adjust its course. âWeâre gonna have to talk about why you have a lightsaber later.â He senses annoyance from the helmet. âDid you kill a Jedi?â âWon it from Moff Gideon.â âYou defeated Moff Gideon?â âWatch it.â The Mandalorian blasts a Pyke who was aiming for Luke from the top of a building. âGood shot.â The Mandalorian nods. Next thing they know, a Pyke has taken out the droid, and Luke somersaults off the roller-wheeler before it flips. He plants his feet in the ground and catches the vehicles momentum that everyone lands relatively unscathed. The Mandalorian caught Grogu immediately, so Luke draws them towards him, until his hand meets bescar. âNice catch,â says the Mandalorian. Luke grins. âIs Grogu ok?â Grogu pops up over the Mandalorianâs shoulder. Heâs a little shaken, but a smile breaks across his face when he sees Luke. Peli spits out a tooth from where sheâs lying.
Chapter 5 excerpt:
âWeâre even,â Boba decides. He makes a hand gesture for the blue liquor, which Fennec tosses to him with a roll of her eyes. Boba places his helmet beside him on the seat and takes a swing, acid-scarred face regarding him cooly. Luke bows respectfully. âThanks a bunch.â Boba waves an arm dismissively. âGo see the little green guy.â He turns to leave, but Boba isnât done. He comments, offhandedly, âI thought you wouldâve gotten a few more scars since the last time I saw you.â Luke turns, puzzled. âWhy?â âHavenât you been Jedi-ing?â âJedi-ing...â âSaving the galaxy.â âWe... I did that.â âWhat about Tatooine?â Lukeâs smile falters. âTch. âΚâĐşĎ
ŃâÎą × ŃŃΚΚŃŃ.â âWhat's that s'posed to mean?â âIt means I donât like you.â âHe called the Jedi useless,â says Ahsoka. Luke meets her eyes, trying to stifle the burn in his skin. Ahsoka clears her throat. âWeâve been gone a long time.â âThatâs why I want to rebuild what was lost.â Ahsoka looks at him for a long moment. âI know.â
Chapter 6 excerpt:
âĎŃΚŃŃΚŃ!â Koska yells. âBo-Katan Kryze!â Bo-Katanâs eyes widen, she drops her gaze and breathes softly. âStop yelling.â âYou⌠youâŚâ Koska clenches her fists. âиΚвŃÎąâ! ÎąŃĎ
ŃŃ!â She kicks the metal desk, exclaiming incoherencies. Bo-Katan shakes her head. âWhat do you want me to do?â She sits back, hands out. âI donât have any way to unite our people, and Mandalore is inhabited by a clan of psychos.â Koskaâs lip trembles, but she bites it down. âWe were going to follow you. We were going to get our home back,â her voice cracks. âDonât tell me itâs all over now. After everything weâve been through to get here.â âMandalore, and my legacy, is dead,â Bo-Katan seethes. âEven with the darksaber, would we be able to subdue, or, live alongside that⌠Clan ĐşŃŃÎąŃ¢, knowing what they did to Mandalore?â âJust get the darksaber from him!â Koska says. âIf you get it our clan will stop kriffing falling apart and we can take them down.â Bo-Katan slumps into her hand. âThis is why we fell apart in the first place. We fought each other instead of the Empire. Itâs not a path I am willing to go down.â âThe others are,â Koska states. Bo-Katan looks up. âAnd they will,â Koska continues, eyes hard. âThatâs why you need to decide what to do now before they decide for you, and we end up going down a path of self-destruction. While theyâll still listen to you, choose.â
Chapter 8 excerpt:
Ahsoka clenches her jaw. âMaul,â she grits out, âwhat did you do?â âEm, an⌠indoctrination ceremony? It was mostly just for fun,â he assures her. âEzra thought it would be fun.â âYou indoctrinated him into your clan?â âThatâsâŚâ Maul blinks. âYes. He could be considered a son of Dathomir.â âAnd thatâs why the night sister magic took him to Dathomir.â Ahsoka groans. âWell, this was a complete waste of time! Now I have to deal with Thrawn and get out of here somehow.â Maul nods, as though that had been his plan all along. âHow long has it been since they returned from the unknown regions?â he asks. âI donât know.â âFind out,â insists Maul. âSpending too long on Dathomir with the spirits of the night sisters⌠would not be advisable.â Ahsoka narrows her eyes. âHow so?â âThey will attempt to resurrect, using whatever means they can get their hands on. I wouldnât be surprised if they sacrifice his mortal body to gain strength to cross back over into the physical world.â âAre they immortal?â âThey are⌠like Force ghosts that can absorb energy. With enough energy, they can reconstruct themselves, piece by piece, until all they are lacking is a physical body. They will need many sacrifices to resurrect fully.â âHold on⌠could you resurrect?â âI would prefer not to,â Maul says simply. Ahsokaâs eyes widen. âOkay⌠why?â âHavenât you asked enough personal questions?â he snaps. âLeave. Iâm busy trying to wallow in misery.â âSure, okay.â Ahsoka shrugs. âBut if you want to talk about itââ âI said go,â Maul hisses.
Chapter 9 excerpt:
The smaller tunnel winds further down, deeper into the centre of the planet. Thereâs the slightest movement in the air, vibration, and Luke recognises the energy of life forces and stops walking suddenly. âThere are⌠people down here,â he says. Din casts him a dubious helmet tilt, and they continue until it is unmistakable. Voices echo through the tunnels, many, it seems, perhaps a covert worth. âDo you wanna go say hello?â Luke asks. âPerhaps they can help us find the living waters.â The tunnel breaks off into several other small passageways. This close, Luke can pick out the soft glow of light, and he gestures for Din to switch his torch off. When he does, they are plunged into darkness, but gradually, Lukeâs eyes adjust to the light, and he leads Din by the arm towards the light and the voices. The voices hush suddenly. Luke pauses, he wonders if they should stop, go back, maybe confront these people somewhere they have more of an advantage. But Din steps past him, leaving Grogu in Lukeâs arms. âŃΚĎиâ¢Ď
Ń?â âиΚ ÎąâÎšÎšŃ ĐźÎąĐ¸âĎ.â âиĎ
ŃΚĎиâÎąâÎšÎšŃ ŃĎâĎ
Ń?â âиιŃ¢⌠ιŃĐ˝âÎąâ.â âĐşâĎâÎąŃ.â Din steps into the room. Luke follows after him. Inside the large cave, is a group of Mandalorians. One of them stands abruptly, blaster raised. âŃΚĎиâŃĎâŃŃ?â he barks. âŃни,â Din responds. âŃΚĎиâνιΚΚ?â Din reaches for Grogu, and takes him into his arms. âиŃŃ ÎšĐşâιιâ. иΚ ĐşŃŃ'ŃÎąŃâ gιΚ ŃÎąâÎąâ,â he says. The Mandalorian stares at them for a moment, then sighs raggedly, and sinks back onto the rock. The others in his group relax, but keep their eyes fixed on the newcomers. Their armour is in a state of disrepair, some of it clearly salvaged from the ruins. Some wear their helmets while others do not. The faces that Luke can see are pale and gaunt, as though they havenât seen the sunlight in a long time and their torn clothes hang off their body in a way that makes Luke think of skeletons. âDo you speak basic?â Din asks. âWe havenât,â the Mandalorian says harshly, âsince a long time.â His eyes are dark, hooded, his hair matted and entirely grey. âWe are looking for the living waters,â Din explains. âDo you know how to get there?â
Chapter 10 excerpt:
Mayan has gotten better at interpreting binary speech, but sheâs not quite there yet. It takes her a moment to figure out what the little beeps mean as she stuffs some out-of-date rations into a makeshift pack. âUm⌠weâre going to rescue Ahsoka.â R2 spins excitedly. Then he stops and says, ââŚ. --- .--?" âI donât know how.â Mayan ties her boots. âBy now, the blue man will think weâve gone, so we can surprise him, right?â R2 whistles uncertainly. âWell⌠thereâs no other choice.â Mayan grips the lightsaber in her hand. âYou said Luke canât come⌠soâŚâ R2 bumps into her as she walks towards the ladder. âOw, that was my toe.â Mayan groans. âWhat is it?â â-.. .- -. --. . .-. --- ..- âŚ!â âI know itâs dangerous. You didnât want Luke to come because heâs an important Jedi, right?â Mayan squeezes past him. âIf the blue man finds him itâd be bad, so itâs better if I rescue her.â R2 whistles a sad note again. Mayan clambers up the ladder one-armed, her other arm tucked into a sling under her cloak. Itâs completely useless. She doesnât know how bad the break was, but since it happened, the skin has gone from red to purple â the edges faintly green. If she tries to use it, a sharp pain stabs through her. The town is quiet this early â even the fruit vendors havenât opened their stalls yet. Mayan sneaks around the side of the blown-up house, pulling her cloak over her feathered hair. She gestures for R2 to follow. She thinks if she can get to the mountain again, she can⌠well, she doesnât really know. Mayan has always been good at getting out of dangerous situations, not getting into them. Maybe R2 can come up with a plan. âThis is hopeless,â Mayan decides. They sit within viewing distance of the tall mountain base, hidden in a valley of rocks. â--. --- âŚâŚ. -⌠.- -.-. -.-?â R2 suggests. Mayan rubs the wrinkly skin of her fingers. âI donât want to give up, but I donât know how to get in, or where she is. Iâve never even seen a prison before.â She pulls her knees up to her chest. âI donât know why Ahsoka even believes in me at all.â â⌠-.- -.-- âŚâŚ. .. ⌠âŚâŚ. .- -- .- --.. .. -. â.!â Mayan smiles a little. 'Sky is amazing,' R2 said. Itâs nice that he gave her a nickname after she said she wanted one like Ahsoka had as a padawan.
Chapter 11 excerpt:
Their arrival must have caused a minor uproar. A dozen Mandalorians watch from every hallway Luke glances down. They are all blue, presumably Bo-Katanâs people, and they donât seem happy. They are brought into a large hall, where spear-shaped windows bite into the ceiling, and white crystal casts a steady light over the room. A long carpet leads to a throne that resembles a hardened splash of lava, and on it, sits Bo-Katan. Sheâs really got the throne thing down, maybe even as much as Boba Fett. Luke would not mess with either of them unless absolutely necessary purely based on their throne demeanour. âWhat the kirff are you doing,â Bo-Katan says. She doesnât yell, just sounds exasperated, maybe even exhausted. âIâm taking you up on the offer to join you.â Bo-Katan looks at him. Her amber eyes narrow, and she gets up, and makes her way towards them. âYouâre too late now,â she says. Her expression touches on cold rage. âIâm barely holding this together as it is. With the arrival of your covert, things have only gotten worse.â âMandalore is habitable,â Din says. âThere are other Mandalorians already living there.â âThe clans on Mandalore are belligerent and mad,â Bo-Katan snaps. âAnd the Empire has eyes on the planet. With the numbers we have, staging anything with only attract attention and get us all killed.â
Chapter 12 excerpt:
âYou have redeemed yourself?â asks the Armourer. âI have,â says Din. The intense blue of the forge reflects off both of their helmets and the heat dusts Lukeâs cheeks with warmth. âAnd you have acquired another foundlingâŚâ The Armourerâs tone shifts to something decidedly less serious and more akin to amusement. âWhat is the name of this child?â âKymir,â Din says. âKymir, do you wish to join our covert?â the Armourer asks the boy. Kymir looks from Din to the Armourer, brows furrowing. âHe doesnât speak basic,â Din says. âKymir, ŃΚιиâ¢ĎĎÎąÎąĐ¸ÎšŃ ŃĎ ÎąâΚΚŃ?â he translates. Kymir bites his lip. âиιŃ¢,â he says. Luke infers that his answer is no. Din looks at the Armourer. âHe has had a bad experience with his covert. He will not trust easily.â âWithout a covert, he will have no protection.â âI will watch over him.â âAt this time, you are also in need of protection,â says the Armourer, lightly. âYou were almost killed this morning.â
Chapter 13 excerpt:
âAhsoka? Ahsoka!â Mayan shakes Ahsokaâs shoulders, but her master doesnât stir. She holds her face and tries to somehow will her awake with the force, but nothing seems to work. Her eyes remain closed, eyelids twitching minutely every few seconds. âIs she alright?â Leia asks, crouching by the broken tree Ahsoka rests against. âI think so⌠she goes into deep sleeps sometimes. I donât really know whatâŚâ Mayan hugs her arms. âUm, is the Falcon okay?â âShips fine,â Han says, an edge of annoyance in his tone, as he walks over to them. âBut Ahsoka better wake up soon so I can ask her what in the hell just happened.â âWe went through a portal,â Mayan says. Han squints. âHow dâyou know that?â âIâm a Jedi padawanâŚâ Han throws his hands in the air. âNot another one! Come on, Chewy,â he says, âletâs go help Sabine get the engine started like normal people. Damn JediâŚforce portalsâŚâ he mutters. R2 beeps in a pattern that Mayan recognises as a laugh as Han stalks off. âI hope Ahsoka wakes up soonâŚâ Mayan says, mostly to herself, though Leia is still beside her. âYes, well,â Leia starts, âwe need to get back home. This was meant to be a drop-off, not another adventure.â
Chapter 16 excerpt:
âCome with me to Mandalore,â Din says. âBut I donât think Iâm supposed to do that.â âDo you want to?â âYes.â Luke glances at him from over his shoulder. âBut I canât,â he says. âIâm a Jedi, I have to follow the will of the force.â Din is silent for a long time, and Luke wonders if the conversation is over. But finally, he speaks. âI understand.â Luke huffs dubiously. âReally?â âYes,â Din says. âI know what itâs like to be told that something that feels right is somehow wrong.â Lukeâs stomach twists. Nothing feels right. Nothing. He let the force guide him here and now the force is telling him itâs time to leave. What if Din and Grogu still need him? Heâs almost certain they do. But the galaxy needs him too. Perhaps his responsibilities lie elsewhere, maybe he got caught up in his emotions and mistook this for being the right thing. The problem is, Luke doesnât know. The uncertainty makes him afraid. (Jedi should not be afraid.) He remembers his vision in the mythosaur lair and his throat tightens until he can barely speak. (Fear clouds oneâs judgement.) âI canât choose you,â Luke whispers, and a laugh catches in his through. âI can never choose you. Can you really tell me you understand that?â Din brings a hand up to his helmet. âI donât know.â Luke stands up and catches his wrist. âDonât,â he says. âI canât let you give up your creed for me when I wouldnât do the same for you.â Dinâs hand falls. Luke stares into the dark visor, feeling further from his eyes than ever. The words of Obi-Wanâs Force-ghost echo in his head. âHad she said the word, I would have left the Jedi Order to be by her side.â âIâm sorry,â Luke says and lets go of his wrist. He steps back, gaze falling to the floor. If he wasnât among the last Jedi⌠if the fate of the galaxy didnât rest on his shoulders⌠But the Jedi are gone. Palpatine and Vader made sure of that. And now Luke has to spend his life paying for his fatherâs mistakes.
Chapter 18 excerpt:
âLeia, I donât like this.â Luke tries not to squirm in his seat. If he had no appetite for the fancy Coruscant food before he certainly doesnât now. âA Moff, after a force-sensitive child, working with a cloner? What the kriff were they doing?â âHe might just have been after him because he was force sensitive and you know how the Empire felt about the Jedi.â âI wish Iâd asked Din about this! Iâm such an idiot.â âWhoâs Din?â âNever mind. Okay, Iâve got to find out what Pershing was doing for Moff Gideon. I have a seriously bad feeling ââ âOkay,â Leia says. âI trust your judgement. Are you finished? Letâs go speak to them.â Lukeâs stomach swoops. âWhat?â âSorry, farm-boy. Sneaking around isnât how we learn things on Coruscant. Youâve got to play the game.â âWhat game?â âPolitics, Luke.â âOh great.â
Chapter 19 excerpt
âGood. Iâm going down. Kymir and I can reach them fastest. Once we know where the creature lives we can go with a small group and rescue Ragnar.â Bo-Katan narrows her eyes, searching his visor for something to reassure herself. Dinâs stomach drops when he realises that sheâs desperately searching for his eyes. He touches her shoulder instead. âKeep them together,â he says, nodding in the direction of the others who are still reeling from the shock of the attack, some badly wounded. Bo-Katan sighs. âThatâs what Iâve been doing for years, Din.â She shakes her head. âLet me wrap your arm. Take some more painkillers or you wonât be able to think when youâre down there. You might still lose the arm the way it is now.â Din stares at her. âYeah, okay,â he says. âOkay?â Bo-Katan squints, winding the bandage around his arm which is thoroughly smothered in bacta. âI think you mean fuck.â âFuck,â Din says. âItâs fine. I still have another arm.â
ââΚи â× ÎąŃΚи × ĎŃ Đ¸ŃŃâвĎ

âŃιιŃ!â Not never! âĐşŃПΚŃ, ŃιΚПâĎâ.â Kymir, come home. Din steps out to stand beside him. He tries to stand straight. He pulls out the darksaber with his good hand. âgιιâŃÎąŃâΚŃ,â he says, and ignites the blade. Help me. For a moment, nobody moves. Then, somebody asks, âΚвΚ¢⌠иΚ ¢ŃŃÎą?â Will this⌠redeem us? Grogu frowns in concentration. He peers out of the window, ignoring the computer completely, but his hand shifts on the stick and suddenly his eyes widen and he presses the button down. It hits the dragon and the creature screeches in agony, twisting up into the sky to escape from the onslaught. âMu?â Grogu turns to Din. âUh, lucky shot,â Din says. âI wouldnât shoot without aiming first, kid. Wait, actually⌠can you use your Jedi stuff to aim? Is that what youâre doing?â Okay. What would Luke say? Something like⌠âIn that case, just focus, and⌠listen to the â is it called the Force? Yeah, listen to the Force.â Grogu snorts. âWhat? Wouldnât I make a good Jedi?â Din smiles, but Grogu canât see it.
The guns bombard the remaining dragons with enough firepower to essentially obliterate them, and litter their scaly corpses across the ground. Boba-Fett lands his ship with a whoosh of hot air. Din stares as he lowers the landing ramp and marches towards him, Fennec following closely. âThought you could use a hand,â says the gruff voice. Din tries to speak but his legs decide to give out. âWoah, there.â Boba keeps him upright with a firm hand on his shoulder. âLetâs get you inside, Mandaâlor,â he says. âSomeone oughta throw you in a bacta tank,â says Fennec. âWe donât have a bacta tank.â Bo-Katan scowls from the cave entrance. âWhat are you doing here, Fett?â âI heard there was a get-together on Mandalore. Someone mustâve missed my invitation.â
Chapter 20 excerpt:
The magic tethering her to Dathomir tugs sharply on her wrist as she falls again into the familiar darkness. And then stops. Ahsoka can hear her breaths this time, sharp and cutting, and she scrambles to her feet, searching for â âYouâŚâ âGet away from him,â Ahsoka snarls. Leiaâs lightsaber ignites with a burst of blue. Palpatine, or whateverâs left of him, has found them. His dark cloak drowns his physical form, making him almost impossible to discern from the flickering darkness, if it wasnât for the ghastly, misshapen white of his face. Yellow eyes melt through the darkness, and grey lips stretch in a triumphant gleam. âHe is of no more importance,â Palpatine snarls. Maulâs body twitches in the air, hands grasping desperately at his throat. âLet him go,â Ahsoka says. âS-sever our dyad,â Maul gasps. âDonât let⌠donât let himâŚâ Ahsoka rips her arm free of the green string. âNo!â Maul cries. Now there is no going back. âI will not leave you with him.â
âGrand Admiral, Sir, permission to speak freely?â âPermission granted, commodore Faro. You know I always value your input.â âWell, Sir, weâre kriffed.â
Chapter 25 excerpt:
âThrawn,â Eli starts, looking into his red eyes, âyâknow Iââ The security feed beeps. Eliâs eyes widen when he sees Ezra waving up at the camera from the supply room. Eli clicks the comms. âUm, Ezra, whaâdâya think youâre doing there? Actually, howâd you even get on board?â âSpace portals!â âRight. I see.â Eli rubs his forehead. This is going to be a long day. âYou need anythinâ?â âYou wonât believe what happened down there,â Ezra practically yells. âAnyway, I need the key now because weâre locking Dathomir so this doesnât ever happen again, then weâre all jumping through a space portal to you guys. Is that alright?â âSure. See ya in a bit.â âExcellent,â says Thrawn. He turns to Eli. âWhat were you going to say?â Eli sighs. âMomentâs gone. Alright, letâs get this data ready for Ezra-kid to look at.â

While I do agree that Will not having focus in s3 and s4 is one of the biggest errors in the show and a confusing choice by the writers, I do think even if he had the consistent screentime that he shouldâve- him being a focus in the final season would always make sense. The story of this crew does not exist without him that isnât a debatable statement, itâs always something that would have to be addressed especially with how he is to this day still connected to the Mindflayer/vecna. So undoubtedly even though itâs messed up how much they sidelined him for seasons now, it doesnât make the returning focus on him confusing if anything it explains it more cause they have a lot to make up for a lot.
I agree, but like you said, it was still an error not to do more to keep Will connected to what was going on with the supernatural plot. To us, it's obvious he was still connected and that they had no choice but to address it eventually, but not to a general audience member who watches each season once and then forgets about it until the next season comes around. Or the people who watch with their eyes closed if it's a character they don't like on screen.
Here are some things I think they could've done to improve Will's role in things. (some of these are my fanfiction secrets, but hey, it is what it is)
Season 3:
The way they used Will's senses in season 3 was nonsensical. Sometimes he could detect the Mind Flayer from miles and miles away. Sometimes he didn't feel anything until the Mind Flayer was right on top of them or inches away??
To better involve Will with the plot, maybe they should've made it so that he can generally feel the Mind Flayer at all times, active or not. It'd probably make him feel awful physically/emotionally, but it's certainly make it apparent how he's still tied into all this even though he's not possessed.
Make it so he can actually track them down or get a general feel of where they're going.
Make it so he can feel the approaching danger WAY before the Mind Flayer is literally right on top of them. Will should've been interrupting the conversation like "Oh crap, he's coming this way! Like a few blocks away!" rather than having him state the obvious after everyone else without sensing abilities already figured out what's happening....
They did show Will being dazed or having a complete break when the Mind Flayer is nearby, have other characters react to that and give a reason for that happening within the story. Great set up for later.
As a lighthearted addition, maybe Will briefly notices El in the void when she comes to spy on them. Almost like possessed Billy briefly saw El when she went to spy on him. (and then have Will not say a peep about it cause bros don't snitch)
Season 4:
Show how deeply connected Will is to what's going on in Hawkins by having him feel weird all the way in California. Maybe he swears he's hearing whispers or just feels something is off even though everything is completely normal in California.
Maybe whenever Vecna killed someone, Will just feels sick or unsteady? Or numb, or like he's falling again.
Maybe he also realizes something bad is going down in Hawkins pretty much at the same time El is figuring it out (when she goes to visit and hears Max's plan). Will of course wouldn't have the details that El does, but he just knows something is happening because of the feeling he's getting. "That" feeling. And that it's worse than ever before. Like Hawkins is so far away and yet he's still feeling the sensation THAT strongly.
Maybe when they meet up again after saving El from the lab, El is telling them they must hurry to Hawkins because everyone is going to die and instead of being shocked and confused, everyone just goes quiet. She's weirded out by the reaction until someone says "We know." and looks at Will, who is looking at the floor and it's like an "Oh crap" situation.
Maybe his reaction to being back in Hawkins is almost immediate. Like someone notices he's staring off into space and then gets started when someone calls out to him, as a callback to season 2.
Conclusion:
If all of that had happened, we probably wouldn't have needed that conversation with Mike on the couch but it's fine. I mean, at least half of it could've been chopped but maybe it'd still happen as Will reveals to the audience that it was Vecna he's been attached to all this time, not necessarily the Mind Flayer.
Maybe with all this extra info and stuff, the audience could piece together the clues easier. As you can see, it's not exactly a lot of stuff I would add personally. Just scenes between scenes to show no matter how much time has passed or how much distance there is between him and Hawkins, Will is not free and never has been.

The Hotel Podcast Season 3 Analysis: Part I - The Manager
@zombified-queer @subsequentibis @thehotelpod <3 <3 <3 hearts for yall. Thank you for encouraging my madness :-)
This is gonna be long and windy due to the nature of Season 3 and because I have a lot to say about it. As in like, I wrote this post and then when I was done, realized I'd HAVE to break this up into multiple posts because I have so damn much to say. Bear with me.
I'm going to approach this from a purely in-universe, Watsonian perspective as much as I can since I find that more fun. And of course, this is all just my own personal interpretation of the text/audio. Would be very happy to see anyone's additional thoughts or alternate takes!!!!
With that...
I believe S3 takes place simultaneously before the show begins, sometime after season 1 specifically, and also is occurring periodically as time progresses. This is not the usual manifestation of the Hotel, but more of a dreamscape, the blurry subconscious of the Hotel entity. It is the place, time, and series of events that the Hotel and, specifically, the Hotel Staff (old crew) spring from and it is where and when they will inevitably, always return to.
After all, no one escapes the Hotel. No one leaves. Certainly not the guests, and certainly not the Staff. You can't just have a Hotel without the Staff to run it.
But I think I'm getting ahead of myself. Was that yelling I heard just now
Season 3 is made of distinct segments - the Manager's perspective, the Lobby Boy's perspective, and finally the Owner's and the Hotel Herself's perspective at the end. So I'm going to tackle this in 4 distinct segments breaking down each arc before I tie it all back together at the end. At least, that's the plan, anyway. Let's do this.
(Do ya see it?)
Part I - The Manager
We begin the very first episode of season 3, Forest Fire Night Beast, with these lines from the Manager:
"I arrive, finally, at the place it will be. A jagged mountain, almost invisible against the night storm."
Right off the bat, this episode establishes all of the elements of importance that will show up throughout the season and wrap around to its finale. The mountain specifically will be important near the end, so let's stick a pin in that one for now.
Even though we get the Manager's narration, her music isn't present in the beginning of the episode. Instead, we get howling wind (more subdued, NOT the Owner's) and the sounds of the Manager's ragged breaths. Already the tone is eerie and unnerving. The listener can feel the Manager's discomfort and unease alongside her as she pushes through the dark, frozen forest. Occasionally, in the background, we hear a yell whoosh by.
The Manager is looking for something, though it's impossible for her to see anything. Something is pursuing her, a different something. She pushes onward, her steps more hurried and her breathing quickened and raspy until she finds it - the place she's supposed to be at. Her theme begins in the background as if it's a landmark. As if it isn't something attached to the Manager, but something the Manager attaches herself to.
And she does attach herself immediately, as soon as she's able. She seeks safety from the gibbering creature and finds solace in her role as Manager. She comforts herself with the certainty of the Hotel:
"The walls are thin, and brittle, and safe. In here, I am the pursuer. In here, endless will die, but never, ever me. From this one room, this one root, a new system will grow and change and consume. They will come to me and let themselves be swallowed like glass takes the night."
Then, she adds:
"But this night, when I should be alone to begin my work, I have to keep the fire lit in my little shack."
[Bolding is mine]
Here we see the light/dark dichotomy come up again. Recall 2.7 Return. I could gesture to basically the entire script for that episode, The Hotel Herself goes on the whole time about extinguishing the fire/lights/living beings that ended up inside her. Near the end, after sighing dramatically for a few minutes about the ennui and boredom of no longer getting satisfaction from killing, she says:
"Something is still roaming the rooms inside me. Painting with bright colors and vivid shapes. Something is taking those lights and turning them in godly tapestries.
Three lights of my own making couldnât be put out. I turn my self inward and investigate the hollows of the worlds that live in me. What I find gives me for the first time, an exciting pang of surprise."
[Bolding/italics NOT mine]
I'll expand on this specific quote more in the Hotel's part. For right now, what's important is that the old crew staff are 'lights,' but not the same lights The Hotel has extinguished before. The way I see it personally, they're a composite, made from the leftover bits of thought and knowledge that float around the cosmic Hotel stew, if that makes any sense. They're more people than the Hotel is, but they're not really people at all.
From the Manager's dialogue, we can see what she doesn't understand at this point in time: Her role as Manager does not save or exempt her from death/darkness.
I'll get to where I consider s2 in the hotel time soup uhhh at some point in a later part. it's a whole thing. But for RIGHT NOW, if we're coming off of season 1, the Manager has never died before. And again, in the early seasons specifically, the staff feel like...almost people. Not human, but not not human.
The Manager has spent the first part of this episode pushing herself forward to escape the dark that has "frozen and obsidian limbs [that] threaten to shred [her] coat with tugging fingers." She shows her persistent, steadfast nature and incredible grit. But no matter how stubborn she is, no matter how perfectly she does her job...She's still part of the darkness. She facilitates it, invites it as she invites the guests in, but doesn't consider it a part of her. She clings to her role as Manager out of fear of death.
She holds down the fort, or in this case the tiny shack that is, I guess, her office. She tends the fire, though it gets smaller. The space that the Manager is inhabiting isâŚforming. Becoming itself, for lack of better wording. The lobby has started forming at this point. If she can just hold out long enough, then....But the gibbering creature, which "belongs here but [is not] supposed to be here," is there too. The dwindling fire doesn't keep it away.
The Manager attempts to grip with white, bleeding knuckles the safety of her position. She reasserts herself, reasserts the inevitability of escape at the Hotel in a futile attempt to glare down the gibbering creature. For her failure to understand, it bludgeons her to death.
(Until you have an understanding, you will receive only pain and time.)
The Manager wakes up to the sound of hammering in episode 2, Hammering Bones. It's no longer nighttime now. She observes the Hotel taking form as it's being built by laborers:
"For a long time I walk and trees bleed and weep and die and sweaty men who's faces I can't see hammer endlessly."
When she looks at them, her head tingles, presumably the lingering phantom pain of being clubbed to death earlier. She says she can feel them in her bones, quote, "hammering me together out of something cold and empty, while something cold and empty watches them."
She narrates as if she is the trees that are being cut down, clubbed with hammers and built into place. Her descriptions of the bleeding and dying trees here read to me as a dream within a dream, some subconscious part of herself grappling to force the sequence of events into a sensible shape.
That part of her, I think, is the human part. The fire, the light, that grants her the warm facade of the front desk manager allows her to draw in the guests. That part of her, then, would naturally fear being extinguished.
She remembers the gibbering creature, but does not run from it this time as it nears. It attacks her, hits again and again and the trees fall as she breaks apart. As she lies in the snow, bleeding and fracturing to death, she imagines the laborers now as "hurried, frightened men" who frantically try to build the lobby as fast as they can. But the Manager, who is entwined with - who IS - the lobby, now, imagines killing them. She imagines breaking them the way she was broken.
I take this as revenge fantasy for sure. She notes that as the workers die, she doesn't need them to hammer in order to build her (the lobby) up anymore. Their deaths sustain and build her.
Though she is satiated by this for a bit, the Manager once again remembers the 'nightmare,' the gibbering creature. Some of it comes back to her but she grows panicked trying and failing to remember what happened "in-between" her dying and waking up again this episode.
3.2 shows us the Manager's mindset and imagination. She entwines herself with the trees and the lobby. For a brief while in this dream-within-a-dream, she is as the Hotel is. A place. A lobby. But as she remembers, her fear creeps back in, overpowering her. She's not quite there yet. For her failure to understand, she is killed again by the gibbering creature.
(We haven't opened for business again yet.)
I don't have as much to say about 3.3 She Is Not Alone. We see the Manager in her element, here much more comfortable in the lobby. She wonders about the guests briefly as she examines and makes her way around the lobby. Though it is a fully formed lobby, it seems to be full of shadows that grow and shift around the place. The gibbering creature is still here too, of course.
Of it, she says:
"SomethingâŚsomething in my mind, not just my Hotel. I can almost remember and I rub my tingling face with a sharkskin-rough hand. What was it? Something inside me, something seeing me, something I could never escape."
[Bolding mine]
The shadows continue to engulf the lobby, slowly and steadily. She starts to remember that something happened, but decides she doesn't want to remember as the lobby dims further and further. The elevator dings, the doors open and close but nothing is there. The yelling in the distance is back, then flies by. The gibbering creature closes in.
But this time when the darkness approaches the Manager, she does not run from it. It surrounds her and she already knows she has nowhere to go, so she doesn't try. She lets it swallow her up and says:
"The cold I expected to feel wasn't there. The sharp, icy shadows only looked like they would cut; instead it folded me up in the dark warmth of the heart of the world and all that was left was me and-"
Then, the Lobby Boy shows up, signifying that the Manager's arc is near its end. We can see from this episode that she's coming to accept the darkness. Though it still unnerves and bothers her somewhat, she regards it, acknowledges it, and lets it wash over her and consume her (gay asf). Consequently, for her almost understanding, the gibbering creature does not kill her this time.
(I make so many pretty things...Listen to them gibber.)
Going into episode 4, the Manager seems to be back to her usual self - at her front desk, waiting and ready for the guest. By this point, she understands.
(Sidenote here: Part of why I feel this season is something that keeps happening is because this understanding doesn't completely stick to the Hotel's satisfaction. My read on the Hotel's dynamic with the old crew is that they keep being too annoyingly human and it's getting in the way of all the fun killing and like, really harshing her vibes, so she keeps putting them in these nightmare worlds as a sort of time-out punishment room. But they just keep coming back!)
Anyway, the Manager behaves as she would in, say, any given season 1 or early season 4 episode. She takes note of her lobby and her Lobby Boy. She sees the gibbering creature and recognizes it fully as a guest, a welcome and normal and expected part of the Hotel. She doesn't fear it, doesn't run from it. She only continues to do what's expected of her. She is the Manager. So, she manages.
As she does so, the Lobby Boy recoils and refuses to go along with this out of his own fear. For this, she's killed again by the gibbering creature. I think that one was just for funsies. (and also, for the lobby boy as we transition into his arc).
The gibbering creature is an element that will come up later towards the end with the Owner, but for now I want to talk about how it relates to the Manager specifically. To me, it represents her fear and the inevitability of death. She runs from the grabbing hands of the darkness, the shadows symbolizing death. She attempts to keep it at bay, imagines her attempts to fight it and get revenge on it. But no matter what she does, it always kills her....Almost.
The only time it doesn't is when she turns away from the memory of her death(s). She observes the darkness take over her lobby. And she simply accepts it. Remains as part of it. She lets it come as another inevitability of the Hotel. She understands now that death will come and take her again and again. But again, she is the Manager. She manages, and this is no different. She's stubborn, but adaptable like that.
Also, I didn't know where else to put this, but gah I LOVE how the Manager's arc starts with her outside the Hotel. With each death, she slowly moves more and more into it, even though she's also been in the lobby the entire time. She considers herself outside the Hotel's purview (that being, of course, death). Yet, each episode, she takes a step closer to understanding. By 3.4, she begins and ends in the lobby, fully integrated with the Hotel.
See, what I love most about S3 its tightness and cohesion. In the Manager's arc alone, we have thematic elements relevant to the Manager specifically, but also to the rest of the staff. They are individuals, but they're also like. cosmically attached at their cores to the Hotel. The writing, voice acting, and sound design all work together here to portray that.
Is it as linear and direct as, say, the Madam Hotel arc in season 4? No, but it doesn't need to be. As a story it does what it sets out to do and does it well. But I'll probably say that again in my next posts.
(We have nothing but time here. Time and pain, if you want it.)
As for the Lobby Boy....Join me next time, I will edit this portion with links to the next parts once I have them all posted. And thank you for reading if you got through all this!!! <3

[Chapter Two]
Now
Leah forgets where she is at first, because thereâs a body beneath her, a chest steadily rising and falling beneath her head, and Leah is warm and safe and surrounded by a familiar, comforting scent, and â
Itâs Fatin. Theyâre in the bunker, not at home. And they are not anything, so this is â it feels weird. Very weird. Too intimate for friends. Leah extracts herself carefully, but Fatin doesnât wake up, thank fuck. Leahâs face burns red even without Fatin making fun of her, even though Fatin probably doesnât even know how they ended up sleeping.
Leah stands beside her bed for a moment, lets her eyes linger on Fatin until it starts to feel creepy. Leahâs not quite sure what she intends to do. Maybe go shower. At least change into fresh clothes â clothes that donât smell vaguely like Fatin. She doesnât get far, though, because thereâs a knock at her door, and thatâs enough to cause Fatin to stir, inhaling sharply.
âGuys,â Dot shouts. âWe gotta get going! Kirinâs already got the boys together, so hurry up!â
Leah falters, watching Fatin slowly sit up and rub at her neck, then Leah calls, âWeâll be ready in a minute!â
âI wonât,â Fatin grumbles. âIâll meet you out there, okay? Iâm gonna get changed.â
Leah nods. Her mouthâs too dry for her to trust herself to speak. Fatin smiles at her, and Fatin looks Leah over, quickly, but Leah still catches it. It makes Leah nervous for a reason Leah canât quite identify. Fatin closes the door behind her, and Leah hears Fatin and Dotâs muffled conversation.
âYeah, yeah, Iâm going,â Fatin says. âLeah will be out in a minute. Just chill, Dorothy.â
âDonât tell me to chill.â
âYouâre just freaking out because you feel like you have to supervise four boys, too.â
And thatâs all Leah hears before she turns her attention to getting ready. No point in showering if sheâs gonna sweat on an island all day, but she brushes her teeth before she turns her attention to her box of belongings. Itâll be hot. She doesnât overthink wearing her cutoffs and blue T-shirt, definitely doesnât overthink wearing her own shoes. Sheâs tying her hair up when someone pounds on her door.
âLeah! Câmon,â Dot whines. âWhatâre you doing â oh shit.â
Leah stands in the doorway, watches Dot check her out, and she decides not to call Dot on it. âWhat?â Leah says flatly.
âNothing, I just didnât think youâd â nothing. Forget it.â
âIs Fatin ready?â Leah asks.
âOf course sheâs not, but Rachel and all the guys are.â
Leah inhales deeply, glances over at Fatinâs room, then volunteers, âIâll go get her.â
âYouâre braver than me,â Dot chuckles.
âAnd you donât get to judge my outfit when youâre literally wearing your cargo pants,â Leah says, and it takes Dot a moment before she grins.
âYouâre making a joke,â Dot says, pointing a finger at Leah. âYour sense of humorâs a little too dry for my taste.â
Leah smirks, doesnât feel the need to respond before she heads to Fatinâs room and knocks. "Fatin?â
âYeah, whatâs up?â Fatin calls.
Leah takes that as permission to enter, which is her mistake, honestly. Fatin doesnât seem to care that sheâs standing in front of Leah in her bra and underwear as sheâs working on putting her hoops in, even smiles at Leah.
Leahâs eyes widen, and she blurts, âSorry,â as Fatin rolls her eyes and waves her hand dismissively.
âLook, Iâm gonna be done in two minutes,â Fatin swears. âGet over here. Help me with this.â
Fatin holds out her ZERO FUCKS necklace, and Leah canât exactly say no, can she? Fatin gathers her hair out of the way, waits while Leah fumbles to get the necklace secured around Fatinâs neck. Fatin thanks her, and Leah barely hears it over the sound of her heart pounding. Fatin doesnât seem to notice, just ties her hair up and slides into her pink leopard print jacket. Doesnât zip it.
âFatin.â
âHmm?â
âPants,â Leah says.
Fatin laughs. âOh, right.â
âWhat? Trying to impress the boys?â Leah teases.
Fatin rolls her eyes, shakes her head, says, âNot even funny. I just forgot Iâm not allowed to wear whatever the fuck I want anymore unless I want someone to stare at me.â Fatin digs up a pair of shorts, makes unnecessary eye contact with Leah while putting them on, then motions to the door. âLead the way.â
*
Itâs apparent the boys havenât exactly settled whoâs on the island exploration group, because there are five of them, and Josh and Kirin are still arguing when Leah arrives alongside Dot and Fatin. Ivan and Henry hang behind Kirin, Ivan with his arms crossed over his chest and Henry with a set of headphones around his neck. So the boys went and retrieved their stuff, too.
âI should go,â Josh insists. The look Rachel sends Dot definitely reads as save me, but Dot shrugs.
âAre we ready?â Dot asks.
âOne sec,â Kirin says. âDude, you should stay. Help Scotty hold down the fort. See what you can find here. Weâll be back.â Kirin claps Josh on the shoulder, and Josh finally backs down. âWeâre ready,â Kirin says.
âCool,â Dot says. âYouâve got the ââ
Kirin takes the backpack from where itâs slung over his shoulder and holds it out, says, âYou can carry one if itâll make you feel better.â
Leah notices the second backpack is on Rafâs back, and Raf smiles when Leahâs eyes wander over to him. Leah feels Fatinâs eyes on her, but Leah looks to Dot next, waits to see what Dotâs gonna do.
âItâs fine,â Dot says. âAs long as you arenât gonna screw us over.â
Kirin smiles, says, âPromise,â and slaps a green hat on his head, backwards. Leah can tell Dot wants to say something about it, but she holds off. He pushes past Raf to lead the way out of the bunker, and Leah thinks she hears Fatin whisper something to Dot about letting a fuckboy take charge, but Dot waves her off.
âIâm not worried,â Dot says, and Leah feels Fatinâs eyes on her again, but Leahâs more than happy to defer to Dot.
Especially once they set foot outside. The island is both completely unfamiliar and vaguely familiar at the same time, somehow. The temperature and landscape are similar, but everything is laid out differently. Thereâs no doubt theyâre in brand new territory â at least, the girls are.
âThis isnât your island by any chance, is it?â Rachel calls out, before Leah can get that far.
âNo,â Ivan answers.
âIt isnât yours?â Henry questions.
âNo,â Dot says. âSo weâre all in new territory, on a completely different island. Awesome.â
âSo, um, what exactly are we out here to look for?â Raf asks.
âWater, dipshit,â Fatin replies, but she backs off when Dot holds her hand up.
âWater,â Dot says. âFood sources. That bitch left us in the wilderness for fifty days. Who knows how long weâll be stuck here? Eventually, weâll start to run out of supplies in the bunker, so we need to make note of anything useful.â
âWhat do you think the chances are that weâll just stumble onto a fucking boat?â Ivan asks.
âProbably zero,â Leah mutters. âThereâs no point in chasing pipe dreams, so just keep an eye out for something useful.â
*
They arenât getting anywhere. Well, actually, they are. Theyâre quite far from where they started, though the bunker remains in sight; they just havenât found anything. This island is fucking huge. That becomes apparent very quickly as they trek through the forest, sweating their asses off and grumbling about the bugs. It isnât long before Kirin strips off his shirt and stuffs it into the backpack on Rafâs back, ignoring the annoyed look Raf shoots him.
Leah understands the desire to remove layers, and if she was still on her original island, sheâd be taking her shirt off, too, but for now, she just sweats through it. Just like everyone except Kirin, who possibly just has no shame. Kirin comes to a stop, roughly an hour after they first set out into the wilderness, and turns to face the group.
âWe arenât covering nearly as much ground as we need to if we want to get anything done before we run out of daylight,â Kirin says. He seems to address Dot directly, as if heâs determined conclusively that Dot is going to make all the decisions for the girls.
âSo whatâs your idea?â Dot asks.
To Leahâs left, Fatin stiffens. Leah has a pretty good guess at what Kirin will suggest, and she has a pretty good guess at what Dot will think they should do. Judging by Fatinâs reaction, Leah thinks Fatin knows, too.
âWe need to split up,â Kirin says. âWeâll cover more ground. We can regroup in a few hours back at the bunker.â
âI agree,â Dot says, but before Kirin can get too cocky, before his grin stretches too wide, Dot adds, âbut we need to blend together.â
Confusion flickers on Kirinâs face, but Fatin jumps in before Dot can explain herself, says, âDorothy, Iâm not so sure this is a good idea.â
âWhat? Donât trust us?â Kirin questions.
âNot at all, actually,â Fatin replies. âJust because we all had a similar fucked up experience doesnât make us anything more than strangers.â
âLook, I trust Leah,â Raf says diplomatically, âand I trust that we all want whatâs best for ourselves ââ
âYeah, you would,â Kirin scoffs. âThe same way you trusted Seth.â
âWho the fuck is Seth?â Rachel asks.
âItâs not important,â Henry says, âright now, at least. Dot is right. If weâre going to split up, we need to blend together.â
âThank you,â Dot says cautiously. âThat way, we all have a stake in it. So letâs pair up, split in half, and head in different directions. Maybe weâll get lucky and find something.â
Tense silence falls over the eight of them, and Leah finally looks at Fatin. Fatinâs jaw clenches, and sheâs staring at Kirin. Heâs staring right back, doesnât look particularly thrilled about the whole situation, either.
âIâm going with Leah,â Fatin announces, reaching over to grab onto Leahâs forearm.
âThen Iâm with Rachel,â Dot agrees.
After a long moment, Kirin calls, âRaf! Youâre with me. Weâll go with Leah.â Before heâs asked, he takes the backpack off his back and holds it out to Dot. âLook after them,â Kirin tells her, and Dot nods and accepts the backpack.
âTake it easy,â Dot says, mostly to Fatin. âDonât forget to mark a path if you find something ââ
âI learned from the best,â Fatin interrupts, gently. âWeâll be fine. And weâll see you back at the bunker later.â
âGood luck,â Dot says.
âTo all of us,â Ivan adds. âWeâre gonna fucking need it.â
*
Fatin charges ahead of Kirin to lead the way into the unknown, and Leah hangs back, not quite walking alongside Raf, but thereâs almost no denying it. Leah canât easily keep up with the pace that Fatin sets, though Kirin sure tries to. Heâs got something to prove, if Leah had to guess.
âSo,â Raf says quietly, waiting until Leah looks over at him, âsheâs a little intense?â
Leah blinks, nods her head toward Kirinâs back. âSo is he.â
âYeah, heâs been worse. Trust me.â Raf pauses, must realize Leah doesnât intend to carry a conversation, and tries again. âYou think theyâre competing for something? Got something to prove?â
Before Leah can respond, Fatin abruptly stops walking and turns back to snap at Kirin, âCan you stop walking right up my ass? Jesus.â
âMaybe the heatâs getting to us,â Leah mutters, and she pushes forward, past Kirin, to grab onto Fatinâs arm. Fatin relaxes, slightly, when she looks up at Leah. âCan we just keep walking? Please,â Leah says, to all of them.
âThatâs what I was doing,â Kirin says defensively. âSorry if I got all up in your space.â
Fatin rolls her eyes, and Leah squeezes Fatinâs arm before she can bite Kirinâs head off for his fake-ass apology. âI know itâs frustrating that thereâs fucking nothing out here so far, but letâs at least try to work together so we can find something.â
âI know itâs hot,â Raf says, âbut letâs try to keep our heads cool?â He pauses. âThat sounded totally lame. Iâm sorry.â
âFuck me,â Kirin groans, shaking his head. He sets his eyes on Fatin, says, âIâll walk in front of you, if thatâs okay.â
âYeah, whatever,â Fatin says. She pulls her arm free of Leahâs grasp and swiftly removes her jacket, ties it around her waist, and now Fatin bares almost as much skin as Kirin. The more sweat that drips down the back of Leahâs neck and causes her shirt to stick to her skin, the more tempting the idea becomes, boys be damned.
Leah and Fatin walk behind Kirin, side by side, and Raf walks carefully off to the side of Leah, probably not willing to risk Fatin going off on him, too. Leah glances at Raf every so often, notes the way his blue shirt is soaked with sweat. It feels disgusting, Leah knows, because sheâs in the same boat, and she finally caves, pulls it over her head and slings her shirt over her shoulder.
âLook at you,â Fatin teases, bumping her hip into Leahâs.
âPlease donât,â Leah says, but she has to fight the urge to smile while Fatin grins at her, while Fatinâs eyes shamelessly rake down her body. âDonât check me out,â Leah says.
Fatin laughs, which gets Kirin to glance back at them, and Fatin says, âWell, what else am I supposed to do out here?â
It almost slips, the first thought Leah has. Look at Kirin. Fatinâs eyebrows raise, so Leah mightâve made a face, and she weakly says, âKeep an eye out for water?â
âPlease,â Fatin scoffs. âBut, you know, actually, I want to hear about that Seth kid. Why isnât he here with you?â
It gets uncomfortably silent, even as Kirin pushes forward, and Raf seems to hang a little farther back.
âAre you gonna tell her, or am I?â Leah asks, twisting to stare at Raf.
Raf falters, and Kirin stops walking. He converges on Raf fast, and heâs got a fistful of the front of Rafâs shirt in his hand before Leah or Fatin can think to do something â and once they can think, they simply watch.
âWhat did you tell her about Seth?â Kirin hisses.
âI â nothing! Just that, you know, we had to exile him because all he did was lie, and I â I beat the shit out of him.â
After a second, during which Leah doesnât breathe and Fatinâs hand grasps onto Leahâs shoulder, Kirin releases Raf and steps back.
âWell, shit,â Fatin says.
âHeâs dead,â Leah says flatly. Kirinâs staring at her, but she stares at Raf. âYou told me you beat him to death.â
âThatâs what I was told,â Raf mumbles. He smooths out his shirt, runs his fingers through his damp hair, pushes it back from his forehead. âThey had me handcuffed when they first interviewed me.â
âSo weâre out here with a murderer?â Fatin asks sharply.
âHe deserved it,â Kirin dismisses. âSeth doesnât deserve any of your fucking sympathy.â
Kirin starts walking again, and Raf follows, but Leah and Fatin stay frozen for a moment. Fatin leans in, fingers digging into Leahâs shoulder as she whispers, âWhat did that Seth guy do?â
âI donât know,â Leah says. âRaf wouldnât say, and I donât think even Gretchen knows. But whatever it was, it was really bad.â
âI guess itâs good youâve got the murderer on your side,â Fatin says, and Leah canât tell if sheâs joking or not.
âYou coming?â Kirin shouts. Fatin rolls her eyes, smiles at Leah, nudges her forward. âSo we had nine people,â Kirin informs, before the silence can become awkward. âWhy are there only seven of you?â
âWhat happened to your ninth person?â Fatin retorts.
âDied on the first day,â Kirin says nonchalantly.
Fatin hesitates. âYeah. Same.â
âYou donât think â I mean, Gretchen wouldnât have killed them on purpose, right?â Leah says.
âMaybe she did,â Kirin answers, though Leah was kind of asking Fatin. âAnd then Seth was a piece of shit who got what he deserved. He was a threat. Violent and mentally unstable.â Leah feels Fatinâs fingertips press into her bare waist, but Leah just swallows hard, refuses to look at Fatin. âWho was your other person?â Kirin asks.
âShe was working with Gretchen,â Leah says. âWatching us. We thought she died, too, butâŚâ
âBut?â Fatin prompts. âLeah. You didnât ââ
âI couldnât drop that on Rachel in front of everyone,â Leah admits. âJust â Iâm going to tell her when we can get a minute alone. Please, Fatin, just donât. Donât.â
Leah doesnât miss the way Kirin and Raf exchange a look. A look that clearly says what if one of us is in on it?
âThatâs fucked up,â Kirin finally says.
âMaybe Seth was â you donât think he knew about all of this?â Raf asks.
âBro, I have no fucking clue, but if he knew and still â whatever. Thereâs no point in speculating, right?â Kirin says.
âUnless it wasnât him,â Fatin points out. Smiles. âUnless itâs someone with us, right now.â
âDonât even start with that,â Kirin warns.
âOr what?â Fatin challenges. She stands her ground in front of him, though heâs significantly taller than Fatin â taller than Leah, too.
âFatin,â Leah says quietly, and Fatin swats Leahâs hand away from her. Fatin glares up at Kirin, waits for him to do something.
âIâm just saying, thereâs no point in worrying about it, is all,â Kirin says. He flashes Fatin a smile. âMaybe you should let your girlfriend hold you off. I donât fight chicks.â
âYouâre disgusting,â Fatin replies.
âWhatâs so disgusting about not wanting to hit a girl?â Kirin questions.
âSeriously, can we just â stop this?â Leah cuts in. âNone of this is helpful, and finding nothing is stressful enough without you two arguing.â
âSo, what? Youâre the fiery one, and your girlfriendâs the levelheaded one?â Kirin quips.
âSheâs not my fucking girlfriend,â Fatin snaps. She shoves at Kirinâs shoulder. âKeep walking.â
Leah would probably overthink what Fatin says, if she was given the opportunity to. In theory, she should have plenty of time to think about it. Should be agonizing over it â and analyzing why exactly sheâs agonizing over it â as they continue to walk aimlessly through the trees. But their aimless walking comes to a quick end, literally minutes later, when Kirin grinds to a stop.
âOh, shit,â he says, and Fatin pushes forward to see what heâs looking at.
âOh my God,â Fatin blurts.
Leah rushes to catch up with them, swipes at the sweat on her forehead as she skids to a halt between Fatin and Kirin. Her eyes drop to the forest floor, to the body, lying motionless in front of them, beside a backpack. Sheâs on her side, hair concealing her face, but Leahâs stomach drops out of her ass. Because holy shit â
Itâs Nora.
*
Then
Itâs the most unhinged laughter Fatin has heard in all of her admittedly limited years of life. Then Leah explains Top Ramen, and Fatin lets herself relax, tells herself she doesnât need to spend her time constantly worrying about Leah. Besides, Leahâs been spending a lot more time with Rachel, and Leah seems better. Scarily better. The too good to be true type of better.
Fatin will drive herself crazy if she spends too much time thinking about if Leahâs actually better or if sheâs just pretending to be better. If Leah didnât need some time and space from Fatin, if Leah needed help, then Fatin trusts that Leah would seek her out. Sort of. Sort of trusts that Leah would seek her out, because maybe Fatin made Leah rethink whoâs really on her side after Fatin shoved her into the rocks and got up in her face and threatened to kill her. Maybe Fatin isnât Leahâs go-to anymore. Maybe Rachel has taken that position.
Which is fine. Like, whatever. Fatin doesnât even care. As long as Leah has someone. As long as Leah doesnât try to die again. As long as Leah doesnât completely lose every last shred of her sanity. As long as Leah can be okay. Leah doesnât have to choose Fatin as her confidant or what the fuck ever. Leah just has to fucking make it off this island in one piece.
âYou doing okay?â
Fatin jumps, exclaims, âJesus, Shelby! Warn a bitch.â
Shelby smiles sheepishly. âSorry. Thought you heard me. You mustâve, uh, really been thinking about something?â
Thinking about something while staring off in Leahâs direction. Thatâs what Shelby wanted to say, Fatin knows. Sure, Fatinâs thinking about something. And sheâs staring at exactly what sheâs thinking about.
âWho knew you would finally tear yourself away from your girlfriendâs side just to come pry into my inner thoughts,â Fatin jokes. When Shelby doesnât laugh, Fatin drops the act. âIâm fine,â Fatin assures her. âYou donât need to check me out from a distance.â
âLike youâre doing with Leah?â
âWhat â no,â Fatin sputters. âThat is â Iâm not doing that.â
Shelby shrugs. âOkay.â
âDonât go spreading that around.â
âSince when do you care if you get caught checking someone out?â Shelby teases, and Fatin mentally tells herself that she needs to loosen the fuck up, and she needs to do it now. Sheâs just gonna make herself look fucking stupid.
âDoes she seem okay to you?â Fatin asks abruptly, nodding toward Leah.
Shelby blinks, says, âI â uh, yeah? She seems like sheâs doing better.â
Better. Right.
âYeah, but that doesnât seem, I donât knowâŚtoo good to be true?â Fatin questions.
âItâs cute, that youâre worried,â Shelby says. Before Fatin can pointedly tell Shelby that it is not cute, actually, Shelby continues, âYou could just go ask her, you know.â
Fatin still feels like sheâs on thin ice with Leah, but Shelby doesnât need to know that. Or at least, Shelby doesnât need to hear that from Fatin. âI think Iâll pass,â Fatin replies. âKinda surprised Rachel hasnât killed her yet, though.â
âI canât say I saw that match coming,â Shelby agrees. âThey seem to make it work, though.â
âMore like theyâre having a collective manic episode.â Shelby chokes in surprise, and Fatin grins. âWhat? Itâs true,â Fatin insists.
âCan I offer you some friendly advice?â
âSure.â
âMaybe donât share that thought with anyone else.â
Fatin shrugs, and sheâs just glad that it seems to do the trick. Shelby walks away without grilling Fatin on how she feels, especially about Leah. Fatin doesnât want to talk about her feelings. Barely wants to think about her feelings, actually. Feelings are, like, so not her thing, but she canât even convince herself of that anymore. Not after thirty something days out here. See, this is why Fatin doesnât surround herself with women. It inevitably leads to obnoxious and inconvenient fucking feelings.
Leah turns back, and their eyes lock, accidentally, and Fatin finds a smile flickering on her face before she can stop it. Leah, though, smiles back widely, and thereâs a familiar fluttering deep in Fatinâs gut, but she hasnât felt it in over a month, because sheâs been trapped on an island with seven â now six, RIP â girls, and Fatinâs taste in women is very particular, and â
Damn it.
*
Acknowledging that sheâs physically attracted to Leah is practically nothing. Maybe if Fatin tells that to herself over and over, sheâll start to believe it. Fatin returns her attention to Marthaâs book, but itâs just not doing it for Fatin anymore. Her mind wanders too much, wanders too far away from the novelâs plot and into dangerous territory. But maybe Fatin should allow herself to indulge in an outlandish fantasy. Or she would, if it didnât feel creepy while Leahâs sitting with Rachel literally ten feet away.
âHowâs the book?â Rachel calls.
âYou want an honest opinion?â Fatin asks.
Thereâs a pause. âMaybe not,â Rachel says.
âItâs just soâŚvanilla,â Fatin complains. âI donât know. I want something spicier.â Actually, the plotâs moving away from the wedding planners just fucking into the wedding planners having feelings, and itâs kind of annoying. Fatin snaps the book shut and rolls onto her side so she can stare over at Leah and Rachel, asks, âWhat are you up to?â
âRachelâs thinking about a career in carpentry,â Leah says.
âI changed my mind. I donât want to know,â Fatin says. She picks the book up, says, âIâll go back to agonizing over my dry spell, I guess.â
âOh, poor you,â Rachel teases. âYou still havenât figured out how to do it with your hands?â
âNo!â Fatin exclaims. âI have not. Maybe I need to start trying, though.â Fatin smirks at the laugh she draws out of Leah. âUnless someoneâs willing to help?â
âKeep it in your pants, Fatin,â Rachel heckles. âMaybe when Dot gets back ââ
âNo,â Dot says as she steps into camp. âI donât know what youâre volunteering me for, but no.â
âGetting Fatin off,â Leah informs.
âDefinitely no,â Dot laughs. âIâm sorry, Fatin, but thatâs something you gotta work out for yourself.â
Fatin rolls her eyes. âYouâre all such prudes.â
âOr weâre all straight?â Rachel supplies.
Fatin huffs a laugh. âI highly doubt that, but okay.â
Fatin risks a glance at Leah, but Leahâs attention is back on the carpentry project sheâs sharing with Rachel. Damn. Fatin really thought that would work. Well, whatever. Fatinâs eyes return to the book. Thereâs no way sheâll focus enough to read it, and if someone calls her on how sheâs not turning pages, sheâll just say that this particular sex scene is very well written, and Fatin is appreciating it and obviously letting her mind run with it.
Fatinâs mind is running, alright. Running in the wrong fucking direction. She should be thinking about having hot, dirty sex with some sleazy groom whoâs willing to cheat on his bride on the day of his wedding, not about fucking Leah.
Leah. Leah Rilke. Leah, who canât hold onto most of her marbles even on a good day. Sheâs over there building a fucking birdhouse out of bamboo and laughing with Rachel. So what the fuck? Fatin usually has better taste than this.
Fatin shouldnât insult Leah â even just to herself â because Fatin happens to be attracted to her, in some way or another. Fatin really hopes to fuck that itâs purely physical. Fatin has no choice but to concede at least that.
âIs it really taking you that long to read one page?â Dot snickers.
âObviously Iâm not reading anymore,â Fatin replies, easily. She drops the book onto her chest, exhales. âObviously Iâve moved onto ââ
âPlease, donât,â Rachel interrupts.
âFine,â Fatin sighs. âI wonât share my personal fantasy with you all.â
âWait, maybe I want to know,â Dot says.
âDonât make this worse,â Rachel warns, pointing the axe at Dot.
âLook at our birdhouse,â Leah says, beaming proudly as she holds it up, and Fatin could smack herself for wanting a piece of Leah. Clearly thirty something days on an island has caused Fatinâs standards to severely plummet.
*
Itâs a pretty damn good birdhouse, all things considered. Fatin hums to herself as she crouches beside it, and Rachel smiles at her.
âPretty good, right?â Rachel says.
âSurprisingly good,â Fatin replies. âIâm legit impressed.â
âIt was mostly Leah,â Rachel informs.
Fatin lifts the birdhouse and peers through the opening. âSturdy,â Fatin says. âHowâd you get this shit to stick together?â
âSome sort of sap from a tree.â
âHmm. Interesting,â Fatin says. She isnât here to talk about their birdhouse, though it is pretty damn impressive. âHow is she, would you say?â Fatin asks, and yeah, that was so not a smooth transition at all, but Rachel doesnât seem to notice.
âLeah?â
âYeah.â
Rachel shrugs. âShe seems better.â
Fatin suppresses a frustrated sigh. Thatâs what everyone says. Better. Excuse Fatin for not believing it. âShe built a fucking birdhouse,â Fatin says. âDo you not find that a little concerning?â
âSheâs staying busy,â Rachel says defensively. âWe both are.â
Fatin hesitates. âYeah, why is that?â she asks cautiously. âI mean, you see how I spend my days. You could do the same.â
âLying around, dreaming about sex?â Rachel says doubtfully. âIâd rather build birdhouses than think up a sex fantasy while Iâm at camp with everyone else.â
âWe donât have to know thatâs what youâre doing,â Fatin replies, smiling.
âI can handle my dry spell,â Rachel says, smiling back.
âOkay, that was sorta rude.â Fatin pauses, takes a breath. âAnd here I was, thinking we were about to have a moment.â
âWe donât have to have a moment,â Rachel mutters. âIâm doing better.â
âYeah,â Fatin scoffs. âBetter in the same way that Leahâs doing better. Excuse me, but I do not buy it. Not for a second.â
âSince when do you even care?â Rachel says.
âWhat do you mean? I pushed Leahâs ass into some rocks for you.â
Fatin flinches. Maybe that wasnât the way to go. Not to mention everything that followed that particular event. Rachel doesnât react though, just stares down at the stupid little birdhouse.
âIâm figuring it out,â Rachel finally says. She sticks her right elbow out, lets it fall back to her side, readjusts her sling. âAll of it. Slowly. I donât know, maybe itâs easier to ignore it as much as possible and build shit.â
âYou mean you and Leah arenât out there crying your eyes out?â Maybe thatâs supposed to be a joke, but Fatin realizes that could come across as a bit of a low blow. She intends to backtrack, maybe even to apologize, but Rachel exhales heavily.
âNo. Weâre just staying busy.â
âDoes that help?â
âActually, yeah,â Rachel says. âI mean, it wonât bring my hand or my sister back, but at least I can feelâŚuseful.â
âYouâre useful whether you build birdhouses or not,â Fatin replies. Then winces. Who is she becoming? Jesus.
Rachel just shrugs and picks the birdhouse back up, holds it out to Fatin. When Fatin just stares at Rachel like sheâs crazy, Rachel says, âItâs for you.â
âWhat? No, itâs not. Itâs yours.â
âActually, itâs Leahâs, and I think itâs for you. So take the stupid birdhouse.â
Rachel deposits the birdhouse into Fatinâs hands, and Fatin exhales in defeat. She takes the stupid birdhouse. Fatin assumes thatâs the end of the conversation, and she starts to get to her feet, but Rachel tugs on her jacket, and Fatin stops.
âIâm keeping an eye on her,â Rachel tells Fatin quietly. âDonât worry.â
Fatin doesnât know what to say. Just presses her lips together. âAnd whoâs keeping an eye on you?â Fatin asks.
âLeah.â
Fatin snorts, stifles it with her hand and manages to say, âSorry. That was â sorry.â
âNo, itâs pretty funny,â Rachel chuckles. âBut you shouldnât worry. Somehow, I guess our kinds of crazy balance out.â
Fatin nods but says, âI donât understand what that fucking means, but okay.â Rachel releases her hold on Fatinâs jacket, and Fatin gets to her feet, holding the birdhouse carefully. âWell, great chat,â Fatin says. âLetâs do it again in another thirty days or so.â
âIâll hold you to that.â
*
She picks it up on a whim. The journal. Noraâs journal. No one else is doing jack shit with it, and thereâs a pen, so Fatin figures she might as well. Plus, Fatinâs never pretended that she isnât nosy as shit, and she wants to see what the others mightâve written in here. Maybe thereâs a love confession. There are lots of drawings. Nora was actually sort of an artist. Fatin lingers on a drawing of Dot, trails her fingertips over the page, feels indents where the pen pushed into the paper as parts of the drawing was shaded in.
Hmm. Could be interesting. Fatin adds it to her bed with her growing collection of other peopleâs belongings, including Marthaâs book and Leahâs birdhouse. Besides, holding onto Noraâs journal and monopolizing it really has nothing to do with Leah. Definitely has nothing to do with Leahâs theories about Nora. Fatin is justâŚbored. She might as well snoop through the journal when she finds the time and see if thereâs anything juicy hidden in it.
âFatin! You coming?â Dot calls.
âYeah,â Fatin replies. She sets Marthaâs book on top of the journal near the end of her bed, tosses the orange track jacket over them, and carefully places the birdhouse on top of the stack. âBe right there.â

TCL 2x11 recap
Ok so in honour of the S3 renewal (!!!! shut up Iâm not crying YOUâRE crying aaaaaaahhhh!!!) here are a few very very belated TCL thoughts⌠and of course, many many many more thoughts still to come for 2x12 lolÂ
So I am already immediately needing to know how much time has passed between last ep and this one lol. Maybe a few days? I mean Luca is looking so much better, and heâs so excited to see Fi and his cousins. (Lol at the fact Marco doesn't even get mentioned, even though he only died like 2 months ago. Like yaasss everybody, Marco who???). Also I really like the way Thony asks âJD let you come?â, bc itâs not judgmental or snarky, itâs more acknowledging the difficult position Fi is in and her gratitude that she came. Also oooh we are definitely back in Vegas for the filming nowâ this is filmed at Adventuredome in LV. But ugh Thony going from smiling at Lucaâs excitement to spotting Joseph :( poor woman just canât even get 5 minutes of simple happiness before something drags her back down again. (Also I assume she still has her big bald shadow following her around and so thatâs how Joseph knew where to find her?)Â
Oooh Nadia definitely still has her shadow. And damn sheâs in the fanciest of prisons rn, stuck in RKâs penthouse. Since this phone conversation is apparently the first time she and Arman have talked since she poisoned RK, and Arman isnât looking completely panicked about where she's been, then Iâm guessing not too much time could have passed since thenâ maybe it really has only been a few days? Also I really wanna know how much Arman was able to find out about what happened to RK? Like did he finally hurry into Fast Lane after his little excursion with Garrett, frantically looking around to see if Nadia might still be there, only to find all the staff gossiping about how the boss was taken to hospital and how Ms Morales went with him??? And then he tries to call her but canât get throughâ so what did he do?? Did he text her and risk it being seen by RK, or did he just go home and sit there waiting by his phone? Also ugh I wish we got to see his reaction to her saying that Thony saved RK, bc yasss to that drama lol. And ugh yes to Nadia referring to Thony as âyour cleaning ladyâ again. Idc that Nadia means it in a negative way, itâs still implying a connection between Armony and thatâs what Iâm all about lol. Anyway I did like that Arman was immediately down to rescue Nadia though. Oh my sweet brave yet somewhat stupid boy lol. Also goddammit I really gotta learn spanish bc while I very much respect them not using subtitles a lot of the time, I still always wanna know everything that's being said lol
Haha RK is Big Mad about his heart attack. âI had a full physical just a few months ago, there was nothing that indicated any issue with my heartâ ok well I mean a âphysicalâ is a pretty basic check, so unless the doctor randomly decided to arrange an angiogram (a surgical procedure which is not done on people who donât have symptoms), then thereâs no way they could have definitively known the heart was fine⌠so maybe calm down a bit there buddy? Also again, we saw last ep that youâre on blood thinners, so there is definitely something wrong somewhere. But lol the hot doctor guy saying âhigh potassium can cause hyperkalaemiaâ is so funny because hyperkalaemia is literally just the technical term for high potassium. But props to him for telling RK it could have been caused by stress lolâ youâre a brave and potentially foolish man, Doc. Also loooolllll RK pouting in the bed like a petulant child and Nadia basically telling him to grow up. Poor woman is already a prisoner and now she has to deal with this giant baby too?? Now this is real torture
Oh the penthouse is at Caesarâs Palace?? Daaaamn, thatâs gotta be pricey. (Also sigh, looks like Iâm gonna need to make another trip to Vegas this year to see these new locations haha). But oooohh at the meaningful eye contact between Nadia and Thony as Nadia hands her the medical file. Also he asks Thony her opinion within literally like 10 seconds of her opening the fileâ like give her a minute to actually read it before she gives her answer, maybe?? But oh man the tightrope she walks when she says that it could have been a drug interaction, but then follows it by saying thereâs nothing in the report that indicates that thatâs the case. And then ugh she immediately tries yet again to talk him into letting her and Arman handle the medication shipment. And when he tells her that the shipment has gone missing and his men are currently investigating to find out who is to blame? Thereâs no question for her that it was Arman, and ugh sheâs trying so hard to keep her face neutral and not let the dread and anger and fear show. Because by stealing that shipment, Arman has put two of the people she loves most at risk: Luca, and himself. And even worse, she knows that in a way itâs her fault, because he did it for her. this is true love right here bitches
But ugh Nadia and Thony walking out together, and Thonyâs grim expression, clearly hating that she had to tell the truth about the drug interaction because it was all a testâ one that she needed to pass for the safety of her whole familyâ versus the fear in Nadiaâs eyes and the cuttting edge to her voice as she tells Thony to tell Arman that she sold them both out?? And then the total tone change as she graciously thanks her for coming? Damn the relationship between these two is so engrossing, especially because as much as they are at odds, they do often have a lot of empathy towards one another and help each other out even when you might not expect them to. S3 please give me all the Thony and Nadia team ups please
Ooooh Garrett that was actually pretty smooth? Lucky no one was in the toilets though lol. Fair enough for him to be pretty pissed with herâ she lied to him about Maya, and now she is being driven around by RKâs guys? It doesnât look great. And aaaahh I have been waiting for this confrontation scene since the moment Maya died, and tbh Oliver is doing a great job with expressing the hurt and anger and betrayal. And man the way Thonyâs voice is so small as she tells him sheâs sorry? And his âOr have you gotten so good at lying and covering up the truth that you donât even recognise it?â like oooohhhh what a blow, and what an insightful statement. Honestly Thony needs someone to call her out like this, to make her see the path she is headed down and the ways that she has already changed. Not that I donât want her to continue on this path haha, because getting to watch Mob Boss Thony is definitely the absolute dream (heck yeah bring on S3), but I want her to be a badass boss without losing her humanity. But tbh I love the fact that the moment she gets the call that Luca is at the hospital, itâs like the fight is immediately put on hold because itâs just understood that Luca comes before anything else.
Seriously though, Fi took him to a public hospital???? The woman who tried to stop Thony from doing the same thing in 1x02 because she was so scared sheâd be deported??? Like if there was no other option, sure, but Fi literally has Dr Saroyanâs number (Thony gave it to her when she went to The Philippines) and she knows that Luca has been taken to Dr Saroyanâs clinic before? Why would she not try that first????????? Like ok tbh I would have been fine with it if there was even just a quick little throwaway line like âI tried calling Dr Saroyan but his receptionist said heâs away in Boston for a weekâ so it covered that plot hole. But whatevs, we need the drama I guess lol. But ugh honestly Jazz makes such a good suggestion about calling JD to take Luca inside insteadâ like even if he will take a little bit to get there, he could switch out with Fi so sheâs not at any more risk than she needs to be? Ugh this is so dumb I don't need this stress in my life
âMy nephew has a high fever and he started throwing up about an hour agoâ wait are you kidding me???? thatâs all youâre going to say, Fi??? That makes it sound like simple gastroenteritis. You gotta lead with the fact that this is an immunocompromised child like 2 months post liver transplant?? Oh my god. Tbh I hate this scene for multiple reasons, partly because of the above, but also partly because of how uncomfortable it feels with the guards staring at her (though that's obviously the point), and also because itâs just a reminder of how terrible the US healthcare system is (which lbr is probably also the point). But ugh even this really lovely Filipina nurse is making me afraid that itâs all actually a trap and ICE is already on their way ughhhh I hate this
âIâm not hungry!â yep RK is definitely a child lol. But oh shit the backstory about his dad dying from a heart attack at 45 and then RK taking every possible precaution to avoid the sameâ like hell okay maybe he actually did get himself an angiogram and all the other fancy cardiac testing?? lol. In which case Nadia is really in trouble haha. When he had Joseph pour her the champagne (the same one she poisoned him with, naturally) I was so terrified for her ugh. Ngl I was unhappy about her throwing suspicion onto Thony about the shipment, but I mean it was pretty understandableâ especially bc she felt that Thony had betrayed her first, and also tbh there was no other possible scapegoat for it except for herself or Arman. But ugh her shiny eyes as RK walks away, knowing that she is walking such a knifeâs edge with him and that he might snap at any moment? Ugh my girl. Plus honestly Iâd definitely like to think that she also felt at least a little bad about the fact that she may have just gotten Thony killedâ if circumstances were different, I honestly think these women could actually have been something almost like friends ugh
Ugh okay now Thony has arrived at the ER and finally someone is being made aware of Lucaâs history and the urgency of the situation!! Also damn sheâs impressively persuasive given she manages to get that lady to call a code⌠this is making me want to fish out my old hospital ID to see whether we had a code white lol. It definitely didn't mean âmedical emergencyâ though, because naturally that one I did know, having responded to them often enough lol
Also lol I just noticed that thereâs a pamphlet saying âstem cell therapy saves livesâ on it at the desk, and it has the initials/logo of the Institute of Stem Cell Medicine (the place where she took Luca in early S1) on it!! Like itâs probable that they were just recycling medical props from last season but I love this little easter egg omg
Ugghhhh I am still so uncomfortable about these guys being at this hospital at all. Like I get that itâs for plot reasons, creating the whole âwhat if we get noticed and deportedâ tension, but itâs just so frustrating that everyone has forgotten about Dr Saroyan!! Like c'mon guys. Plus I just miss him lol, he was so softspoken and pretty. Though tbh this Dr Gonzalez is quite pretty too. In fact, pretty much every doctor that has appeared in this show has been rather attractiveâ seriously where were all these beautiful people during my training??? at acting school obviously lol
OOOH. Thony just said that Luca is 10 weeks post-transplant! Excellent, Iâve been meaning to put together a timeline of the TCL events, considering that the entire show literally happens over the course of like 4 months. So Luca was a week postop when he and Thony came back from Mexico (1x09) and then Marco kidnapped him like another week later (end of 1x10/start of 2x01), so looks like S2 has happened over the course of about 8 weeks. Which tbh actually seems a little long to be accurate, given that several of the eps happen literally the day after the previous epâs events, but it could potentially work. Guess Iâll find out when I actually put the timeline together lol
Anyway is it weird that I felt proud when Dr Gonzalez said that (from the scans, I assume) Lucaâs graft looks extremely clean and that a surgical complication definitely wasnât the cause for his current condition? Like ugh damn straight my girl Thony did an incredible job on the surgery. And what a relief it must be for her to hear that she didnât cause this, because you know that's been her greatest fear ever since she realised she was going to have to do the surgery in the first place
Stepping into the chapel to call her married(ish?) criminal boyfriend? I love it. Blaspheme away, girl, I support you wholeheartedly. I also love that she knows he was the one who took the shipment, knows he did this for her, to prove to her he meant it when he said he wouldnât let his plan to kill Kamdar endanger Luca. But of course now that plan (along with Thonyâs thwarting of it) has endangered all of them lol. Oops. Also dude I had been wondering why this ep hadnât quite been doing it for me thus far (like of course Iâm enjoying it, but just not as much as other eps) and I mean part of it is definitely the focus on Robert and also the borderline insanity of bringing Luca to this hospital, but mostly itâs because Iâve been like EXCUSE ME. WHERE IS MY BOY. WHERE IS MY PRECIOUS MURDER CUPCAKE. WHERE. Like seriously up until this point we have gotten a total of like 20 seconds of Arman onscreen and that is simply not enough for me to survive on lol. But ugh finally we are getting some good fucking food, as Gordon Ramsay would say, bc fuck yes to this entire phone exchangeâ Arman clearly angry and upset that she didnât trust him enough to follow his plan (you just know heâs thinking back to their plan in 1x10 and how she trusted him then, but has since seemingly turned her back on him; dw so much more will be said on that in the next recap lol), then thereâs Thony acknowledging that she made a mistake/that her choice endangered them all (aka maybe that she doesnât always know better than everyone), and then thereâs the way that all the fire immediately goes out of Arman the moment he hears how sick Luca has gotten. Ngl even though the âmy son is dying!â thing is getting a liiiiittle bit stale (I mean to be fair though, it is realistic for how a parent with a dying/chronically ill child would be), I do love that the two powerful men in Thonyâs life will immediately put aside their own frustrations and agendas for Luca. (and, of course, for Thony herself)
âWeâll get those meds, but after that weâre done.â Honestly, I love this line, because you just know itâs not true; literally the emptiest threat my boy has ever made haha. But itâs important for it to be said anywayâ considering that Arman has already established to Thony through both words and actions that he will do pretty much anything for her, the act of telling her that theyâre done is one of the only ways he can express to her how much she has hurt him without literally saying those exact words aloud. (Itâs probably also partly habit from his fights with Nadia, too; I don't doubt they've both threatened each other with divorce multiple times lol, which is extra funny now we know they were never married in the first place). But anyway lbr here, heâs never going to follow through on this threat with Thony, just like he didnât in 2x05 after he said it the first time. But the point is that thereâs still just enough uncertainty thereâ the possibility that maybe this time he really does mean itâ that it kinda forces Thony to examine her choices and face the idea that unless she trusts him and lets him be her equal partner in this, she might lose him. But ugghhh at him immediately grabbing all the money he has left in the world and coming out of hiding to help her save Luca. Just like she knew he would, before he even answered the phoneâ because like she told Fi: he always shows up when she needs him.Â
Also, catch me screaming over the fact that the man has no reason to have her motorbike helmet with him, but does anyway??? Like last we saw him, he was at La Habana on the phone with Nadia, finding out about Kamdar, and presumably he went right home and got the essentials to take into hidingâ which apparently includes Thonyâs motorbike helmet. Yâknow, just in case she called, needing him. Iâm so fine and normal about this I swear
Actually you know what, I'm not fine at all, because we were absolutely robbed of the scene where she manages to sneak out the back of the hospital and he pulls up to get her and just silently holds out the helmet, and then on the ride it really hits her that maybe he will  walk away after all this and that it will be all her fault, and between that terrible feeling of dread and her overwhelming fear for Luca she starts to cry silently, her arms clinging to him tighter than usual because sheâs so terrified sheâs about to lose two of the people she loves most, and then at one point theyâre stopped at a traffic light and he covers one of her hands with his and squeezes, like he can sense that sheâs barely keeping herself together, and she cries harder because if she still has him then maybe it will all be okay, maybe they will get the meds and get back to Luca in time and maybe she can stop trying to carry all this weight on her own andâ
But anyhow, I digress lol. I love that Arman steps straight into the office and barely spares the guy a glance as he grabs the bolt cutters and the paper with the container number on it. Man is on a mission to save his future stepson lol, and god help anyone who gets in his way. And ugh I just love everything about his and Thonyâs teamworkâ she finds the container and he comes running with the bolt cutters; he starts cutting the inventory lists free and handing them off to her, letting her guide him to the right spot. They just work so naturally together without needing to discuss it and idk man I am just very into everything they do together lol (and boy i would sure love for them to do some ~other~ stuff together lol)
God the look of terror on her face when they hear the cars screech into the shipping yard, and the way he whispers a reassurance to her and touches her arm for just a second as he passes? And then he peeks around the corner and sees several of Kamdarâs men being pointed their way (damn that little rat bastard for selling them out) and ugh I want to hug him because he knows how bad these odds are, knows that he might be about to die right now but that doesnât matter, all that matters is keeping them from getting to Thony. Like ughhhhhh âIâll do what I can to hold them offâ and then him locking her inside the container?? He knows she has her phone, knows that even if he dies taking all the men out then she will still be able to call for help, so he takes every measure he can to keep her safe and give her the best chance of survival. I also stupidly love that itâs his knife that sheâs using to cut out and search the inventory lists, and his knife that is her only weapon/defense. Just another way he protects her ugh
Though lol at him choking the guy out in like 5 seconds while the guy doesnât even fight it. Kamdar would be embarrassed to be associated with such a pathetic goon lol. Ngl tho I very much enjoy watching Arman getting beaten up and thrown into objects and still getting up and keeping fighting because this is a fight he simply cannot afford to lose ugh
Okay these writers definitely do not know how to write delirious kids lol, but I forgive them. However I donât forgive the nurse guy who Fi goes to for help, considering he glances at the monitor for half a second and then says Luca is probably just tired. Like seriously how did this guy get through nursing school? And then lol the next minute Luca has a tiny bit of a nosebleed (not even actively dripping) and Dr Gonzalez gets someone running in with a procedure cart to shove unnecessary packing up his nose. Like hey guys can you maybe try to find a happy medium between under- and overreacting lol??
God Thony dropping the phone and not being able to reach it makes me feel so stressed, and then ugh her being found because Fi keeps calling her??? Reminds me of 1x01 and Fiâs call being the reason she gets found and thrown in front of Arman in the first place. The woman really needs to learn to put her ringer on silent lol. But god how badass that she literally climbs her way out and runs across the top of the container and makes a jump for it? Like damn Arman was right, she really has learned a few things lol. Also fucking love Arman seeing Thony getting cornered by two gunmen and responding by immediately taking out his own guy (by fighting dirty, throwing sand in his eyes and then kicking him in the balls, to which I say hell yeah) before diving for his gun and shooting the guy who was about to shoot Thony. And then taking out the other guy too, before yelling for her to get down and killing the guy who had just appeared out of the container behind her (what that guy was still doing in the container for so long when Thony had already escaped, who knows lol). And ugh when he signals for her to run over to him, she doesnât hesitate, just knows that he will cover her and make sure she makes it safely, and then they make their escape together on the bike with him shooting the last two guys while racing out of there??? Like honestly this man needs to go straight back to jail because being this sexy is a goddamn CRIME
Ugh, yet again we were robbed of the possible Armony thoughâ like excuse me, where is my scene of her clinging to him again as he races them back to the hospital, then the two of them frantically asking each other if theyâre okay/uninjured before he reassures her heâs fine and sends her back in to save Luca, telling her to call him as soon as she has news?? Like seriously where is it, writers??? I need ALL the Armony ugh
Ngl Iâm on Dr Gonzalezâs side here lol, bc what Thony is proposing to do is legit crazyâ not to mention both illegal and unethical, which would be sOO MUCH LESS OF A PROBLEM IF YâALL HAD GONE TO MY BOY DR SAROYAN INSTEAD, BUT NOOOOOOOO. Like again, I know that they had to end up at a proper hospital for the plot, but ugh that doesnât stop the plot from being annoying lol. Though tbh I do love that they can only achieve their plan of sneakily giving Luca the treatment he needs because of their little network of cleaning ladies haha. Who run the world????Â
Lbr tho this girl is taking a huge risk for themâ I appreciate the writers at least giving the explanation that itâs in thanks for Thony delivering Ninaâs baby, but still, can we at least try to minimise her involvement so she doesnât go down with you??? In fact, get Fi the hell out of here too, you donât need her! Especially since Luca apparently needs to be ventilated for 36 hours for the drug to work, which means it is literally impossible for them to NOT get caught doing this. Aaaaahhhh I am so stressed lol. Aaand yep theyâve been caught by Dr Gonzalez already, who actually kind of seems like he might go along with itâ what is it about the Thony & Luca combo that men just canât say no to lol?? lbr I would not say no either sooo
Like lol Garrett literally admits it to Russo, that he was right in the middle of yelling at Thony and then let her go the moment there was a call about Luca. He really does get too close to his CIs and tbh I love that about him because itâs both a flaw and one of his main redeeming attributes. And ugh when he tells her that he believed Arman when he said that it came down to a choice between Thony or Maya (love the fact that both Russo and Garrett are well aware just how much Thony means to Arman), and that Arman is a criminal who actually tells the truth? Which is ironic because Garrett is a law enforcement officer that will lie and manipulate people all day long if it serves his purpose. Like yesss this is what the show has been saying all alongâ people arenât just black and white, good and bad. The world is complicated and grey and whatâs ârightâ isnât always clear
Speaking of complicated though, oh god Garrett and Russo. What are you two doing. Like I appreciate that Garrett says heâs a mess and needs to figure himself out, that was very mature of himâŚâŚ aaaaaand now theyâre hooking up lol. I still canât get over the fact that timeline-wise, itâs been like a week since Mayaâs death, but hey I guess everyone copes in their own way or whatever lol
Uggghhhh god it is so hard to watch this scene with Dr Gonzalez bringing in the cops and child services, but tbh are you REALLY so shocked, Thony?? Honestly she has been just getting away with shit for far too long, and even when thereâs repercussions (like Arman or Garrett getting pissed with her) she gets forgiven quickly enough that it seems sheâs forgotten that she might actually have to face real, permanent consequences. (Again, Marco who?? lol) But I do kinda love how angry and disbelieving she is about them taking her away, because it is so fitting for her character, and fits with the way she deals with fear/panic. But again Iâm just saying Thony, you could have been sipping coffee with Arman at Lucaâs bedside in Dr Saroyanâs clinic rn, but instead Luca is being taken from you, and you and Fi are in handcuffs. Sigh why do these fictional characters never listen to me
Omg wtf RK is trying to drown Nadia?????? No fucking way will I allow this. Ok thatâs it, Iâve been saying all along that this dude gotta die and now thereâs no going back. KILL HIM NADIA. MAKE HIM REGRET BEING BORN
#The Cleaning Lady#TCL recaps#Armony#better late than never right??#one more recap to do then I can finally actually focus on fic#can't wait#now let's see about my prediction that like 3 people will read this lol

Mando season 3... sigh. Sadly, I'm beginning to lose interest. The story seems disjointed, and the production value feels like it's diminished in quality.
I'm having difficulty suspending my belief. For example, the location of the covert. It looks like they're in the middle of nowhere. There are dangerous beasts all over the place, so why are they still there? Why did they save those baby monsters if they're only going to turn into more dangerous predators? It looks like no one has a ship, so how are they getting supplies? Where are they getting gas to fire forge? Practicalities like these are knocking me out of the narrative.
Also, the fact that Favreau said there's no end in site concerns me because shows seem to lose quality over time when there isn't a plan. The words "jump the shark" come to mind.
I'll keep watching, but I miss being excited for a new episode to drop each week. In fact, I haven't watched the latest episode and am in no hurry to do so.
Hi Michelle!! đ I was so happy to see you pop up in my inbox! I hope youâre doing well, lovely!! Thanks for swinging by with this!!
Iâm sorry that youâre not enjoying this season as much as the previous ones. It seems like youâre not alone - I have seen quite a few people expressing less than favorable opinions on whatâs going on with s3 - but thatâs still unfortunate, and I hope that the remaining episodes give you and others more to enjoy about it!
That being said, Iâm actually really liking this season so far, which probably (maybe?) isnât what you were expecting me to say, but here we are. đ¤ˇđťââď¸
But letâs talk about the things you brought up. Going under the cut to avoid spoilers for anyone who doesnât want to see them:
Iâm gonna start by saying that I do agree that the production value feels a little diminished. Iâm wondering if itâs because of bigger budgets on other SW shows (Iâm thinking Andor & Ahsoka- which I have HIGH hopes for), and them banking on the fact that the Mandalorian series already has a large fan base. It doesnât feel (to me at least) as diminished as the production value of BOBF felt (that low speed chase on 50s era mopeds was ⌠a choice), but Iâll agree that it feels like a half step down from seasons 1 & 2.
The only thing I personally have had a hard time with as far as the storytelling/disjointedness goes, was the way that the Pershing episode was structured. It was 5 minutes of Din/Bo/Grogu, and then a whole chunk of Pershing and the least trustworthy character in all of star wars, and then another 6 minutes of Din/Bo/Grogu. I didn't hate that we got some info on what was going on on that side of things - I have theories about where they're going with Elia Kane and all of that, and they were strengthened by some details in the latest episode - but I wish they had structured the storytelling differently by sort of breaking it up and sprinkling it into the rest of the episodes.
As far as the covert being in the middle of nowhere goes, itâs entirely possible that at least one other Mando has a ship, and itâs hidden. I always assumed that their tunnels and caves on Nevarro were more expansive than what we ever actually saw - Din at one point says heâs not familiar with a certain section of them, which made me think they were LARGE and possibly even connected to other tunnels where a ship (or ships) that belongs to the covert might be kept for emergencies or just to use when needed. I also recall a line (when the covert was on Nevarro) about how living in the shadows means only one can go out at a time for secrecy and safety, and that made me think that itâs not just Din who comes and goes off world, that others do, too if or when they need to. Itâs also possible that they had a pre-arranged backup plan, so they didn't all need to leave Nevarro together, they just had to find a way there even if it wasn't right away. But again this is all just what my brain came up with throughout the series, so I have no idea if itâs canonically correct.
The fact that there are so many dangerous beasts on that planet was probably one of the things that made it a desirable hideout - because no one in their right mind would try to settle Dino World, but Mandalorians aren't in their right minds so I get why they chose it from that perspective.
THE BABY MONSTERS!!!! Can I tell you that as soon as the mama went down I gasped and said "but the babies will die now!" And then as soon as they turned up back at the covert I was filled with relief like "oh, nevermind, they're going to be loved and cared for!" I love that they were "adopted" by the Mandalorians. For one, raising them from hatchlings will allow them to bond with the lil beasts and possibly even rely on them for battle backup like Boba did with the Rancor. Also? I just love the reiteration of how important adoption is to Mandalorians. It's a part of their belief system that they take care of any children that need taking care of, no matter who or what their parents were. "Mandalorian isn't a race, it's a Creed" extends even to beasties and I just think that's very sweet coming from a group of tin cans. (idk what the beasts are called. I've been calling them pterodactyls to fit the Dino World theme - I've seen articles and posts where people are calling them shriek hawks, but I'm pretty sure shriek hawks are smaller and have feeyethers. I could be wrong about that, though!)
*thanks, Dieter*
The "no end in sight" is admittedly concerning, but I'm choosing to believe they won't let it go beyond where it needs to. Depending on where this season ends, I think it could probably go one more. With all the tie-ins from the Clone Wars & Rebels series (which honestly, I know animation isn't everyone's jam, but Rebels was truly great, and there is a LOT of Mandalorian lore and history in that show, including stuff pertaining to the Darksaber, Bo-Katan, and Clan Vizsla, so if you're ever looking for something to watch I recommend it, or at least the episodes that concern Mandalore) that have been popping up, I'm hoping that Filoni will take good care of the rest of this story. My fingers are crossed.
I hope that you do keep watching, and I hope that you do find things to enjoy about it as it continues! I'm very much looking forward to the next episode.
Thank you again for dropping in! I know my response was probably different from what you were expecting, so I hope that's okay!
