Not to be that bitch and start posting about dsmp in the year of our lord 2024, but like I just explained the entire fucking story to a friend of mine (three hours well spent, thank you), and I need to talk about a thing I just realized, which is the absolute genius of Jack Manifold, and the end of the server

Because, Jack’s whole storyline was that he was a side character. He was a guy who was dragged into the main storylines, dragged into wars and conflicts of the main characters (Tommy, Techno, W1lbur, Dre@m), and died in them. Nothing that he did, or created mattered, because he was always going to be just another casualty, of a conflict he had no part in.

And then the finale happened, and Jack, because of his anger, his spitefulness, his need for revenge, unintentionally sacrificed the server and almost if not everyone on it, just to kill Tommy.

And then they became the casualties. Everyone on the server became him, became the person who was killed by W1lbur during November 16th, became the person dropped into lava for a joke, became the person who was killed during Doomsday, without anyone remembering it.

They became the people who died for someone else’s war.

I have zero faith that it was at all planned, especially with how rushed the ending was, but it’s nonetheless unintentional brilliant poetic storytelling, and I hate the server for it

Lieutenant Deets and Medic Duo

And finally the aloof lt and dr chaos. Completing the char sheets for the 343rd. As always, text is below c: 👇

Lieutenant Deets

CT-3335 - Previously known to her batchmates as Koor or Koor 33. Koor which is Mando'a for Deal, was the name that she and her batchmates gave each other to distinguish themselves as a unit and as a promise to one another to stay alive. Unfortunately, that promise would be broken as each member of Koor squad died. So she changed her name to be that which everyone else called her. Three-Three and then later DT when she made a self deprecating joke about how she was a defective clone, (a to be decommissioning clone, DT-3335) It stuck, and later evolved into Deets when she joined the 343rd and her ability to relay a wide variety of detail for missions and about drama about the base.

Krells ship isn't a place that nurtured kindness or kept those that didn’t pay attention to the little things. It’s not that any clone was complacent but it’s a different kind of twist on the mind when you’re made to feel observed, to constantly think that little bit further than the terror in front of you. Deets initially as she worked for intelligence and supplied crucial intel while she worked under Pong Krell. She would specialise in field work, setting up temporary HQs and intel points on hostile planets. That is until she fell victim to a clanker airdrop, where a battalion of B2s found the camp and laid waste. Severely injuring them all and killing two. She claims that’s the day 33 died. Half a b2 was still active and shot her in the groin for starters, would have killed her if back up hadn't shown up and she'd had a blood transfusion in the LA-AT.

She finds though that, she doesn't mind so much. Okay, so her testosterone plumates to zero and its bad for a time being, she loses a lot of weight and muscle mass as the medics try to solve one problem after the other. It’s after an undetermined amount of time she's lucid enough to wake up. Sometimes though, she wishes she hadn’t. It turns out she wasn't saved by back up. They were bate. And the clones that survived? abandoned to die, bar from two. Deets was saved because she discovered further information on the whereabouts of a drone factory and they were attacked before she could disclose what she learnt. The other clone rescued was used to keep her alive.

It’s almost out of her control, she gives the information without even fighting, choked by guilt and shame to have been the one spared for noticing a small detail. The medic onboard takes pity on her and gets her back in one piece, or whats left of her. What follows are as a result of the worst cycle of her short and sad life. The drop in T is noticeable, and she's not mad about it, she keeps up with the standard fitness expected by all clones once her levels are fixed. Starts looking more feminine. Its nice in her opinion, she like the way she looks. Leans into it. Until what few forces left under Krells command after his wickedness had been revealed are cleaned up. Quietly existing in surveillance, the medics of their battalion have been covering for her, clearing her for action but not putting her on the field. She doesn’t know who did it, but when she’s alerted that she will be decommissioned, she finds herself not back on Kamino but on Naboo.

Bonus: Deets is Ace, low testosterone will do that to you. She's not really titillated by anything anymore. But she does like Kiss, more than she’s like anyone since her batchmates. Her and kiss grow close and have a fledgling relationship where Deets is only soft and herself with Kiss. And Kiss is tender and heartfelt with her. They are, in their own ways, the moms of their company.

Bonus 2: DT is a sheltered character, quiet and observant, tending towards the depressive disastrasiation, morbid assumptions and dry humour to pad her sharp edges. It’s why she gets on best with Jaig who is also depressed and bitter. Her armour seeks to embrace her shape. The shoulder pads were originally equipped to make her shoulders seem broader than they were. But now its a sign of her experience and expertise. She has a b2 on hr left thigh as a joke, but also as a reminder that if it hadn’t hit her other leg she wouldn’t be who she is today.

Medic Duo

aka Dr Do-over, dudu one time Ro was sky high on painkillers. The twins were in stitches literally and figuratively.

Duo is the 343rd CMO, or just their medic as the 343rd are such a small unit his only other medical support is Pax. Who they call Nurse, affectionately. They're a soft touch under cover of a mad scientist telling her vode all the details of how badly they kriffed up. Saying things like:

I had a twin in the tube and i ate them / I had tea with the Chancellor after my heroic efforts on Geonosis / i'm the closest clone to Prime

mainly things that cant be proven or disproven but they are normally saved for shinies and younger clones that won't question the validity of these claims. And more importantly to distract from whatever they are going through. But it's more an example of how hairbrained they are in regard to their methods of getting the troops what they need. And he will get them whatever they need so long as it keeps them sane and healthy.

Despite gratuitous explanations on what happens to a liver with extended access to engineerings supernova moonshine, thats all she cares about, seeing them all through to the end. Duo, Kiss and Ro have known each other the longest. Duo is the reason why Kiss was able to keep Mooch as her service dog. The reason Ro has all her limbs, and why Jaig is able to get replacement optics when the cheap cybernetics they send give out.

Most important Duo is the reason why most of the trans clones were able to transition. Starting with Kiss. Kiss plays it down, but Duo will tell anyone trying to hide their pain how miserable she had been before, how all she talked about was ancient Nabooen culture. Duo doesn't tell them how reluctant she would be to attend physicals, or the little ways that went unnoticed by untrained eyes that she would neglect her health. Similar to Ro when she joined them. Choosing self flagellation over the admittance of unseen pain. So they took it upon themselves to provide Kiss with options. Then Ro and by the time Deets came alone toward the end of the war he was already equipped to deal with her baggage with tall tails and prescription should the patient require further medical support.

bonus: Duo, Lash and Leki were delighted to meet one another. They are the powerhouse of the trans collection they have going on at the 343rd, Lash is their researcher, Leki the supplier and Duo the mastermind and manipulator of GAR funds.

bonus2: Duo is gender fluid. A fact that only became apparent after Kiss transitioned. Their gender fluxuates, and Duo like the check in it allows with oneself when assessing where they are at on a given day. Duo also particularly like making strangers squirm when they says today it's she/them and what them puzzle over what today means.

The Lancer

A character who usually is both a foil to the main character and/or leader of a group, but is also someone they trust, and who is usually treated as their second in command.

Propaganda:

I love a good foil character in general! And also, a lot of times the character with the foil role is positioned as the hero's rival or even enemy- I really like that The Lancer is instead usually one of their closest allies (because even when they have some kind of rivalrous dynamic, it's almost always still based in friendship instead of being genuinely contentious). Two characters who in personality parallel and oppose each other but who recognize that they means they actually compliment each other and make each other stronger is so satisfying to me as a dynamic.

Cain and Abel

Sibling rivalry turns into bitter hatred with murderous intent, or one sibling is evil and the other one good.

Propaganda:

Fucked-up sibling dynamics are the best! You grew up in the same house! You were messed-up in the same ways! You made each other's lives miserable for reasons that weren't really your fault! You hate them so much and you know everything about them! You want to kill them but you'll feel empty when you actually do! It's great. (Also, Cain and Abel symbolism in itself is delightful)

Camping had become an annual tradition, where none of you knew the origin. A tradition you’d kept since probably the start of your relationship; maybe before.

A week away during that transition period between summer and autumn, where the sun peeks between clouds of an afternoon, caressing honeyed skin until the night air becomes a little more bitter, where thick blankets are pulled out the back of the car as you all sit with fire-warm toes and plastic cups of hot chocolate and coffee.

Yoongi liked to squat by the fire, turning meat that Jin hands out on paper plates. Taehyung would hop between each of the boys, snagging little pieces of food off their plates when they’d be talking to someone else, or rummaging around the back of the car for marshmallows—you and him playing chubby bunnies in the back seat, only for Namjoon to find the two of you on his scavenge for more firewood.

You and Jungkook always ran off a little further into the fields as the other’s set up base when you first arrive, kicking rocks on the border of the forest, daring wander a little further into the blanket of trees with interlaced fingers. Bunny ears twitching at the rustle of bushes, soft giggles overshadowing natural fear as you chase after a butterfly, your bunny boyfriend hot on your tail.

Your Jungkook had always been a little bit of a daredevil, much to the dismay of your other boyfriends. Because more often than not you’d follow in his footsteps; issue being that your build wasn’t all thick muscle and broad shoulders like he was, a problem when you’d get yourselves into a little bit of trouble.

It had always been like that, always you and Jungkook. Years before you’d expanded your little duo; nights spent huddled around a shitty fire that barely heated up your apartment. A dingy little place that really neither of you could afford with school fees chewing at your feet and bills to pay. The rotting mattress on the floor was far from the burrow you both dreamed of, and decent meals had become few and far.

Even now, with your little family of eight instead of just two, there had always been the unspoken rule that no matter how much you both loved the other six, what the two of you had was always going to be the brightest star in a constellation of many.

And maybe it had become natural instinct to simply follow Jungkook, because you trusted him with your whole life—except when you got stuck in trees too tall for you to hop down from.

“She’s tiny and you know that” Hoseok tuts, watching one of your bunny ears twitch at the sound of his voice, “No more silly dares. Bunnies aren’t meant to hang in trees, how did you expect her to get down?”

“Sorry, hyung” Jungkook frowns, hybrid ears flattening against his skull, sad pout on his pretty lips as he watches your legs dangle from the branch.

Hoseok wasn’t mad, not really. Would have found the whole situation a little bit funny if you weren’t on the verge of tears, “Come on, sweetness. I’ll catch you”

“What if you drop me?” you sniffle, wobbling a little which sets Jungkook into a frenzy; arms raised to catch you if you tip backwards.

“I’d never let you fall, I promise”

“Promise?”

Jungkook’s foot thumps against the grass, “I promise too” he beams, and you frown.

“You’re the one that got me up here” you tell him, no true resentment in your voice. And his nose scrunches up in that way that has your heart pattering against your ribcage, foot following its lead, though no ground to face the impact.

You ease yourself off the branch a little, fingers digging into soggy bark as Hoseok wraps his arms around your legs. Jungkook’s hands hold your hips as you fall a little further into Hobi’s arms, the human gently placing your feet back onto the ground; sleeve of his sweater patting your damp cheeks.

“Come on now, Jimin wants to do some fireworks before dinner” Hoseok’s fingers skim over the base of your bunny ears.

You and Jungkook fall in step behind Hoseok, pinkies curled together in the pocket of Jungkook’s hoodie.

His body gravitates a little closer to yours, bicep nudging your shoulder, “Sorry for getting you stuck”

You snigger, “It’s fine, I liked sitting up there with you. It’s just getting down is scary” you admit, “I’m not mad if that’s what you’re worried about”

“Swear?”

You hum, “Swear” you slip you pinkie from his, instead choosing to lace your fingers together. Jungkook bites his lip, a lame attempt to cover his smile.

“Come on, you two!” Jin calls the both of you over as Hoseok sits back down, “We’re doing fireworks”

You tug Jungkook to sit with you on the hood of the car, “Bunny?” he murmurs, both of you watching Jimin stick a firework into the ground.

You make a noise in the back of your throat, letting him know you’re listening, head falling onto his shoulder.

“Thank you”

You perk up at that, “What for?” you tuck his hair behind his ear.

“Just being here, I guess” he shrugs, “I was thinking…”

“Yeah?” you urge him, the both of you flinching at the initial pop of the fireworks.

“You have so many people that love you now, maybe love you the right way and you just—and somehow you’re still with me”

You cup his cheek, “You love me the right way”

Jungkook shakes his head, gesturing to the other guys as they laugh at Jimin running from the next set of fireworks he sets alight, “I’m not perfect like them”

“I’m not perfect, neither are they” you smile, “No one is. But please, always remember that no matter how many people love the both of us in this life, no matter what happens it will always be me and you. Okay? Not saying that anything will—but on the tiny chance it doesn’t work out with them, we’ll always have one another, I don’t see a future without you Kook, so please don’t bring yourself down when you’ve done a pretty good job at loving me so far”

Jungkook nods, and you wonder if the tears that balance on his waterline will glaze his cheeks, “I really love you” he confesses, and you wet your bottom lip.

“I’m in love with you” you say and Jungkook laughs.

“I’m very much in love with you too” he holds both your cheeks, hybrid ears twitching at the bang.

The fireworks look like shiny specks of stardust in his eyes before both of you are leaning in for a kiss; sweet and soft, nothing rushed because you had a lifetime to explore one another, forever to stay side by side.

Delicate fingertips brush over pink cheeks, a million unspoken words left unsaid, mutual understanding weaving into both your hearts as you mould yourselves into one another—both knowing that what you had was as pretty as fireworks and shooting stars and other fascinating things that light up dark skies on gloomy nights.

You loved the others, truly you did, but Jungkook would always hold a special place in your heart; forever imbedded into your very being.

They had to set their bitterness aside (or- well, they tried to) and the result was Wukong trying to distract you while Macaque scrambled around trying to find you something, even sending out his clones so he could sweep multiple stores at once (while pocketing a few shiny things for himself b/c mfer is a magpie). 🚦TRAFFIC LIGHT TRIO🚦: Mei got you a gift weeks in advance, she stays on top of birthdays. Same for Red Son! MK however didn't remember until the night before because ADHD is a bitch, but he likely ended up drawing a bunch of pictures of you, him, Red Son, and Mei. Mei also has a cake ready b/c she's The Best Ever. The trio's general vibe is just "BFFs 5ever because it's longer than 4" and everyone they care about is given the same treatment. 📖FREE NOODLES🍜: Pigsy is gonna be cookin' up a whole-ass STORM!! All of your favorite foods will be made, and breakfast is definitely served in bed. Dinner's gonna be a whole feast with the cake made extra special. Tang's the type of guy that follows "It's your birthday, so whatever you say goes!" He'll be fully open to trying out something new, and his gift is going to relate to a really niche subject that he knows you absolutely adore. It's likely he's done research to make sure he got the gift just right! 🕷️SPIDER DEMONS🕸️: These four are so wild it's funny. Spider Queen probably used her silk to make you a really fancy outfit, Syntax (who had your birthday set up as a reminder on his phone) probably is gonna give you some kind of drone that can help you out with mundane stuff (you get to name it). Goliath tried to make something, but whatever it is it's gonna be messy...he did his best. Huntsman? Deadass he probably went to go hunt your favorite animal so he could stuff it. If your favorite animal isn't in the area or it's a fictional one catch this extra-ass motherfucker carving a big-ass statue of it.

They had these gifts prepared. They knew your birthday was coming. They still all forgot until the actual day/the night before, for various reasons. Hey, at least the gifts are well-made. ☠️BONE DUO👻: Both the Lady Bone Demon and the Mayor are going to appear on your doorstep at midnight. They have a full day planned with ways to celebrate your birthday and 'no' is not an option. You will be spoiled!! The Mayor's got enough money to take you out in style, probably in his limo to fancy restaurants, most likely one of those rotating ones. The gifts will be exactly what you need, even if you didn't know you needed it yet. Even if it seems odd at first, best to just go along with it. 🪷CELESTIAL SQUAD🌙: Chang'e has a gigantic cake prepared, most likely one layer for each year of your life. She's been working on this for forever!! Nezha helped her prepare a big party on the moon for you. Both of them are likely to gift you presents of Celestial origins (blessed jewelry that protects you from demonic possession, or a very rare book). They might have lost count of their own ages, but they understand how important birthdays are to some people. 🦁THE🐘BROTHERHOOD🦅: They're completely unfamiliar with how mortals celebrate birthdays, but they're going to do their best. Cake? OK sure they can make one (it looks god awful). Presents? Surely any mortal would appreciate dangerous weapons and armor (it's horribly wrapped)! With the whole "listen to the birthday person" thing they might take it too literally. Like if you say "Let's hit the road" they are going to demolish that goddamn road b/c you said to and are the birthday person. Your wishes must be followed. They're trying they really are.

I dunno- this and into the woods is my favorite musicals and I’ve had traffic brain rot for AGESSS and I was finally re-listening to Hadestown and this absolute fever dream of an idea dawned on me during hey little song bird

So yeah. Enjoy?

Eurydice- Jimmy Solidarity ✨the canary✨ you see the vision. This (joke?) is what started this whole thing so.

Orpheus- Still deciding between Scott and Tango

Tango pros:

- They are soulmates

- the goat horns are kinda vaguely like music/an instrument 👀

- ranchers duo is SO SWEET always

- their lives are tethered which in a way fits the story of the show and the myth.

- idk i just like this idea

- why are you still here? It’s over. Go home.

- c!jimmy seems to be on better terms with c!tango than c!scott soooo

Scott pros:

- they were husbands, Jimmy died first tragically (very accurate to original myth)

- THE FLOWER MOTIF- specifically a red flower. It’s just so perfect

- they saw each other in the afterlife

- Scott is always attached to flower husbands which seems fitting

- he likes to sing? Empires musical? I don’t know but it seems like it works

-flower husbands and desert duo have connections (you will see why this is important)

So yeah leaning towards tango for the vibes but leaning towards Scott for actual similarities in plot and such.

(If someone wants to say Joel or someone I will happily hear you out lol)

Hades and Persephone- c!Grian and c!Scar/desert duo. The characters were once in love and then it grew into a a more bitter relationship. There are lots of potential parallels with Hadestown older lovers and desert duo. Grian and scar also have flower/plant motifs.

Grian as hades- He is a watcher, which seems fitting. Creator of the games seems fitting for god of death and also the industrial foreman Hadestown has. Original winner.

Scar as Persephone- Now that he is a winner, I personally love the idea of him being the earth, which is perfect for the god(dess) of spring. I also think his secret life skins going from green to black is an accidental parallel.

The only real issue with this is I want to incorporate Grian being the sun but that’s contradictory;-;

Hermes- My main idea atm is Martyn. This is mostly because storytelling and lore is very connected to him and his character. Who doesn’t love some eyes and ears AU/lore

I am also considering pearl just because I like that idea, her being the moon and being connected to g and s, etc

And Ren because he is such a storyteller/theater kid

The Fates- I have several ideas for this

-the watchers(and secret keeper.) Obvious reasons

- the other winners

-clethubs because they are a fun/good trio lol

- ren, pearl, Scott (in case I don’t have them as Hermes/orpheus)

- the remaining Evo members: bigb (also he was so creechur in third life ), pearl, and if he’s not Hermes, Martyn (also good since pearl and martyn have won)
