Ugh I feel this sm it hurts

That one fic(superhero au) where c!niki is the only tagged women character and her only pov chapter is in the middle of the fic where she has a very gory death by c!drm mind controlling her(c!wil is also doing so to try and stop her). It was done too to have c!ranboo(protag and her brother in the fic) to be all sad and angsty.

I just felt so icky reading the rest of the fic. (also  realizing that even the way she dies is gross, having two guys she both hates fight for control over her mind, lacking any agency)

Remembering another fic that was also a superhero au this time sbi focused and in the syndicate(that everyone and their mother was apart of) c!tommy was replacing c!hannah as the team’s healer(note she didn’t just have healing powers it was general nature stuff as described by the characters). It just had me mad and confused, c!Sam is in the syndicate why not have it be c!ponk???? have it be Sally if c!wilbur is gonna be a big part of the story??? Hell if c!crime is so important have it so c!Fundy died and c!wil is projecting how he feels about his dead son on this random teenager?? why couldn’t have the dead healer been unnamed: like you know the extra unknown syndicate member??? Why wasn’t she in the eggpire??

None of those questions or other options matter cuz she’ll only be brought up to make everyone a little sad/“you have big shoes to fill Tommy”/ to make Tommy feel guilty cuz he kinda caused her death

Fics are boring in the way that they make Kristin the goddess of death/a very powerful being/dead. That's boring. Y'all can't make a female character anything that isn't a mother or nurturing or kind or dead. That's boring. There's so much you can play around with Kristin's character with. The world is your oyster, you're the one choosing to put the words in that way. Give me toxic divorce Kristin and Phil plagued narrative type of style, give me shady couple living in a crowcastle on the hill surrounded by dead Appletrees and crows Morticia and Gomez Addams type of style. Give me something that makes Kristin a part of the story, give Kristin a real fucking character. Someone who isn't in the fic for 1-2 chapters acting all mysterious all “Oh my poor boy it shouldn't have ended like this, you've done so well”. Someone who doesn't interrupt SBI's bickering with a smile “because they're so cute aw look at them together no stop bullying your brother boys”.

Someone who is more than a mother figure and/or dead.

Also the ways fics are treating Puffy (looking at you foster/orphan benchtrio fics). I get that she's a therapist in canon and that most people don't watch her and don't see her point of view but come on. Dream SMP wiki exists for a reason, it's easy to Google, it's easy to learn. She doesn't have to be in the story just because it needs a therapist.

Nikki is always kind in fics. Kind and sweet and nice like she didn't burn down the L'mantree in rage. She's the baker and has a bakery in every fic like she wasn't a part of the Syndicate and didn't build a whole underground city and hated Tommy so much she was plotting to nuke him.

There's always excuses. Kristin is in canon a godess, Puffy is in canon a therapist. But that hasn't stopped you with other characters does it? C!Wilbur is a psychopath and yet you write him as the loving brother. Any of your excuses isn't good enough. This is sexism. Y'all make the women the therapist, the mother, the sister or dead/not a part of the story so the male characters have someone to take care of them or someone they could vent their thoughts out to.

And I get that this is just an easy way to write a story, make a character. It’s easy storytelling. Every fandom does this. And I get that it’s easy to boil down a character to only being/doing one thing and that a lot of teenager/young people write fics but come on. Think about how you portray the female characters in your fics. Use your words in a better way.

Content: ranting about people gatekeeping autism self-diagnosis and also little message for those that do self-dx

I just don't understand people that gatekeep self-diagnosis (self-dx), especially when it comes to autism. It doesn't hurt anyone to self-dx/self identify as autistic. It doesn't hurt anyone to utilize tools and coping mechanisms that are typically designed/advertised/taught for/to autistic people.

I think that anyone that resonates with autistic experiences and finds relief utilizing coping mechanisms that they have found through autistic people and resources have a place in the community, even if their traits are subclinical or if through their self-exploration and research, they find they aren't autistic. For those that find they aren't, that's totally valid and cool, and through that exploration you have garnered a wealth of knowledge about a group of people that can always use allies.

No one is stealing any resources from anyone by self-dxing autism. Especially as an adult, because there are basically no resources to "steal" lmfao. The resources that do exist don't have a strict limit to them (books, worksheets, blog posts, physical items like weighted blankets and noise cancelling headphones, etc.). I have a clinical diagnosis and all I got was a bunch of paperwork that effects where my husband can be stationed. That's it. Everything else that I have is stuff that's generally accessible and used by tons of people that aren't autistic, or it's stuff I have made for myself (like all my lists and writeups). I know my experience isn't universal, but like, if something helps you in a significant/substantial way, it means it's made for you and those like you.

A large part of the "anti self-dx of autism" shit has to be negative views of what autistic people look like, right? I struggle to imagine any other reason someone would be so fervently against it, to the point they'll attack those that do self-dx. Or do people think you can just walk into some magical treatment facility and say you are autistic and you are whisked away by them and now you're taking up a slot for the "real autistics" ??? There're so many fucking hoops to jump through to get adequate care, at least in the USA. Or is it like people believing that someone else getting accommodations is unfair??? If that's it, why aren't they considering that maybe the world needs to be kinder and more patient, rather than just attacking someone else for getting help? If an accomodation that's utilized by a smaller group of people would be beneficial to the majority, why is that not made the norm??? I'm just so confused by people.

Find something more beneficial to advocate for instead of tearing other people down. Projecting hatred and anger like that is a waste of time and energy that could be used for something way better. It honestly doesn't have to be advocacy or anything, just get a fucking hobby.

This chapter it's the REALLY small text messages between Hunter and Katya.

I have this really silly headcanon that Katya would be oddly protective of Hunter in a big sister/little brother kind of way.

Like, some of her NON-BATTS/CATTS friends might give her side eye considering his history as Golden Guard and she would tear them a new one.

She's gonna give that guy noogies in the form of guilting him into beta reading her fan fiction, and he loves her for it.
