Final Bug Fact:

The world NEEDS bugs. They keep the soil healthy, pollinate, control pests, and contribute to the worlds' ecosystem. By the end of the century, it is estimated 40% of insect species may go extinct due to habitat loss. Yes, that is very scary. But with even one beetle spared, one caterpillar rescued, and one Hollow Knight comic of all things, things will change. Because I know there's a lot more Dewi's out there than most people realize. Stay curious.

I wanted to put here how amazing and sweet everyone has been with this comic. I finished a 75 page comic in 3 MONTHS. I am at a loss for words. That sounds crazy and it IS crazy. But man was it fun. Even on days were I wasn't able to draw due to fatigue or business, I loved working on it from start to finish. And guess what!? This is my first ever FINISHED comic :D I'm so proud of myself. I know there's some things I want to change and the art is wonky in most places...... but I'm content to let it be. What an amazing summer adventure!

I'm hoping to post the full comic on another Comic website. I may or may not edit some of the art ^w^ So I'll let y'all know when I release it.

He has that iconic scar on his cheek Dewi told Hollow about.#(He got it from a Barbed wire accident as a kid. But he likes to try and convince Dewi it was from a Grizzly Bear)#Conifer almost had a heart attack from the “Map of the World” haha. His wife was beside herself #The bugs were terrified to meet his Dad. But it was kinda inevitable to have the encounter with the Beast if Dewi was in the picture.#So they sent out the only remaining heirs of the Pale King to make a Peace Agreement. It went as chaotic as you can expect.#Quirrel has taken a liking to the bugs outside Hallownest. He finds them very strange and interesting.#Also Hollow does not like the sun very much. I just think this is the funnier chunk.#Lan Wangji absolutely is the kind of person who has a perfect internal alarm clock for when it is time to get up.#He already has a dedicated sleep schedule. He is accurate within 10 seconds of 5am every day.#I think the Jiang disciples are most likely used to waking up around 6:00-7:00am #But the allure of having a guaranteed time keeper getting you up in the morning is worth the earlier hour.#I imagine they started outside lwj's door and slowly moved closer as the weeks went on.#Now LWJ has to cope with being way too warm in the night from all the extra body heat.#LWJ is not a fan of this but they scamper off immediately after he wakes up and they at least show initiative to follow routine.#NHS joins in only because he is a chronically heavy sleeper and needs this level of intervention to get up early.#His boldness would be a death sentence in the cloud recesses but here? Whole new game.#Yungmeng Jiang isn't a lawless land. It's just a land with different laws.#And one of those laws is to forcefully domesticate the catboy coded Lan boy through any means necessary.#Completely different tangent: I drew the thumbnail for this before I did comic 134. I then realized they had the same visual gag.#So I had to space this one out so it didn't seem like I repeated the waking up joke. Scoria and Sakura are best friends! It's so cute when I see the things they do together, and it makes me so beyond happy that they both came to live with me so that they could share their lives with each other. They absolutely insist on it, and does so much good for the other.

I can't imagine how else they could have found happiness if things hadn't worked out exactly as they did. Scoria has basically been Sakura's "emotional support snake" while she worked through things from her past I'll never fully know that caused her a lot of issues with panic and fear. Sakura knows this too, and looks out for her sister, the only one she truly trusts and feels completely safe with.

The moment they wake up they both want each other to snuggle and play with. Scoria loves to be affectionate with both me and her sister who seems to have not had this earlier in her life- but Scoria is showing her how nice it is not only directly but demonstrating with me and Sakura also trying, copying what she has seen her sister do.

Sometimes when one goes to check on the other they'll join in on... I'm not even sure what they were doing. But they had a good time while taking a mandated union break from digging tunnels for the isopods.

So happy I get to share in the adventures of these two best friends! It makes me so happy to see them living their best lives together, and being beyond content snuggled together with their found family.

Curly had two days to act and Swansea had two months.

I think it’s just interesting that every defense of Swansea not immediately acting are the same ones that are argued against for Curly. “He didn’t want to alert Daisuke or makes things worse for Anya either Jimmy!” I mean people also assume that about Curly and the crew. “He has to think about his plan of action and a right moment!” Again so did Curly, power and authority aside, he still would have to think of what he had to do. “He makes sure he doesn’t have to be around Jimmy!” So did Curly and they only do this to an extent, both give Jimmy more than a few opening to keep harassing Anya.

This isn’t defense of Curly nor a damnation of Swansea. Their actions are very parallel to each others in tragic and sour ways when it comes to how they approached helping Anya. In the grand scheme of it all they both did the same thing: Nothing. No action either took stopped the inevitable outcome of her death nor Jimmy’s continued damage to themself.

The only real difference is Swansea didn’t like Jimmy which is pretty substantial, but also just as damning as Curly knowing how bad Jimmy could get to an extent. He had even less of a reason to wait, even more of a reason to act seeing as he was now worried for Anya AND Daisuke. He is not bound by the possible procedure as Captain and actively does not care about what happens next. So what does it matter if he acted in the moment? Why did he wait? I think he’s just as morally complex and grey as Curly and we hold him on a pedestal that still perpetuates things in rape culture the game critiques.

It’s not just enough to dislike and be abrasive to predators/abusers like Jimmy. It’s not enough to just put yourself between them and the other person. It’s not enough to hold tensions when you know someone is vulnerable. He and Curly do the exact same things but on different sides of the coin. I ask how is it better to not turn a blind eye but still not really do anything about what you are seeing? Not until it affects you atleast…

The game makes a big point to not put men doing the bare minimum or who wait to do more on pedestals and I’m actually surprised so many are missing that point.

#like I’m sorry two months? he couldn’t have explained it at all to Daisuke?#he’s no better than Curly and it’s likely Anya found comfort in the fact that Jimmy would at least avoid being around Swansea #tho everything he went off to drink or passed out she would be acutely reminded that things are still taking precedent in his head #she is not his top concern nor is seeking justice for her like he is admittedly more concerned about Daisuke he doesn’t mention her #outside of the fact that they were def talking about what Jimmy did and likely the fact he might’ve crashed the ship but pls don’t mistake #his final acts as being majority for Anya. the game keeps showing how these men keep prioritizing things over her even when they say they #won’t and it’s sad it��s so sad that we keep trying to say but what about him like they all do it #it’s not intentional but that’s what’s also bad about it like I doubt she made a suicide plan with him two months in advance #these characters are acting to get out of this and she knows her ending is not happy if she leaves or not she’s taking that choice to do it #and hell Swansea might not have known by the way he speaks to Daisuke and Jimmy that that was her plan to khs #likely either to just keep her and Curly locked in med bay until they got rescued or died #but it’s all speculation and thinking and I can only implore people to think why are you giving Swansea more credit?#cause I see him bittersweetly so used to the negatives he cares not for futile efforts #two months vs two days and each time nothing was really done for her other than prolonging her suffering around Jimmy #Swansea slept outside utility was drunk most of the time and it’s clear Jimmy was able to have access to Anya whenever #I mean look at the teaser where they sit at the table he is far from her with Daisuke #like it’s just frustration at this point thinking any guy on that ship was doing good by Anya specifically and not for their own reasons #like at least Curly was direct on the issue he still did mostly Jack shit but Swansea doesn’t even let Jimmy know he knows #and that’s another issue in rape culture of men avoiding calling other men what they are even if they hate them like #the game plays with the idea of knowing vs acknowledging and neither truly acknowledge it as a part of their actions #against Jimmy and god no one did better than Anya for Anya. they just weren’t heinous like Jimmy #mouthwashing #mouthwashing game #curly mouthwashing #captain curly #swansea mouthwashing #anya mouthwashing #nurse anya #it’s not all men but all men can and do play a part especially in the extreme scenario mouthwashing deposits

Picture this: Steve is now a school teacher. Every time there is a new style or trend, he comes home and gossips about it to Eddie (listen, he's made some fashion mistakes but come ON). But its the 90s, and Steve starts seeing light up shoes.

All he can think about is how Eddie would LOVE them. Are they a lil silly for their age? Sure, but Eddie is a silly goose. Eddie also deserves things that make him happy. So if a simple pair of shoes makes him happy, Steve will gladly buy them.

He saves up paycheck after paycheck to buy them. Drops the box unceremoniously in Eddie's lap, because his hands can never seem to work with wrapping paper. Eddie opens the box and is immediately in awe.

Puts them on and stamps his foot down, watching the lights shine. Gets mesmerized for awhile by the lights. The joy on Eddie's face and the laughter being shared between the two of them makes up for the price in Steve's opinion. Eddie wears the shoes proudly, even as others tease him, he just responds with "you're just jealous your shoes don't light up"

But also picture: its 3am and Steve awakes slowly. All he sees is lights flashing in the room as Eddie tries to sneak in and fails.

i like that they didn't make po's ex a woman bc that would make me think they were making the "i'm not gay i only like you" type of narrative which makes me so fucking mad every single time it happens

also po likes men and that's ok, i think everyone around him is okay with that fact and that's so important (to me!), it's not a big deal for anyone around him, he doesn't have to hide his attraction to men from anyone

that could still happen with yhame because we don't know about that part of him, and that's not and shouldn't be the focus here, but yeah, it could happen (i mean, he obviously can't announce it publicly but yk we know he will not have to hide this form the members bc he will have that talk with pepper)

but i'm glad po knows that he's attracted to men, and he knows that he feels ✨something✨ when he's around thame (and probably has a tiny little crush on him, but i still think thame start to like po first, obviously)
