While Gem & Grian did exclude their 3rd member from the whole secret society thing, they at least still made sure she didn't get caught up in whatever bullshit they were plotting.

Like, knowing what I know now, I didn't even realize Gem was pushing Pearl into a mission to lead her far far away from the sandtower. As a Pearl-main I saw it as Normal Gempearl Things™.

Gem knows Pearl will do most anything she sends her to do, so telling her to get endstone was the perfect way to make sure she didn't get caught in the crossfire OR realize what they were doing.
