Teru Sofa and Motel Mermaid Bed for The Sims 2

These are 4to2 conversions from Sims41Ife, I lowered the polycount to medium size (less than 7k). Mermaid Beddings can be also used on other beds (single and double) and there is also a deco bedding version you can add on the bed (found in comfort-miscellaneous).

Having set up my new apartment, I think I am realizing I have built for myself everything my 16year old self ever wanted.

I have a cool customized bedroom where I can

•Listen to any music I want on my radio or record player

• Read all my favorite books I’ve curated in a pretty bookcase

• Make any kind of art I want at my home studio

• A closet full of cool clothes that reflects who I am

My pantry is full of food that I like and doesn’t have a lock

I live close by to my gym and I’m the most fit and healthy I’ve ever been in my life

I’m out as trans and I’m 9 months into medically transitioning

I have a really cool job at a museum

I show my art at a gallery

I have freinds

And I have firm boundaries with my family and finally privacy and safety from their control etc etc

I think my recent birthday, this move, and Mother’s Day put me in a reflective mood and realizing I’ve made for myself a life that I used to think I could never have as a teen and I’m like safe from the hell that was my childhood home..

It’s a weird feeling. A good place to be at 28 though I think. I feel like I’ve rescued my hopeless suicidal 16 year old self

#lord knows I’m not like in perfect mental health or I don’t still have problems that make life difficult #but I think my current self would make my teen self happy to see #to put things in perspective #my mother used to lock the pantry #she took the door off my bedroom #would go through my room and trash everyday #would not let me wear clothes she didn’t like #would not let me buy some bands music or see them live etc etc #hated some of the art I made #was judgmental about my liking fashion or interior design because it was superficial and materialistic #.. now I can do whatever I want #also I can be trans and have the control and ability to make my body look like exactly how I want it to #including my hair color and tattoos

something i realized in the recent years is that while my mom is a very nice person and i can understand why she is the way that she is sometimes, she had a history of always dismissing and throwing away things that were important to me, and in hindsight that certainly had an effect on both my trust in her and how much i was willing to ever share, and also just turned me into a dumpster goblin because i just gave up on ever having nice things so why bother ever caring about my personal space at all ✌️ i'll just live in the filth because we'll never have anything better after all !!

#i remember i used to have a bunch of cool anime and game posters i collected over many cons for a couple of years #and one day i just came back to my bedroom being fully repainted and everything was thrown out #same with some figures i got. i had a nice bleach collection and they were all broken due to rough cleaning #some just straight up gone because haha who cares they're just toys toss em out #and it was a situation of if i complained i would only get dismissed as being pissy about stupid things. so i just. didn't.#i just accepted it and decided ''i guess i'm not getting anything again'' and didn't even bother going to cons after that lmao #now that i'm in my late 20s i'm FINALLY buying cool physical items for myself and not letting anyone even come close to my room #and a part of me feels guilty about spending. but like... yeah no.#i deserve that 1/8 makise kurisu figure i found the other day. or gunpla. or mtg cards. or manga collections. i can do whatever i want.#and i should also be retroactively pissed at how dismissive everyone was over my belongings because #EVEN IF they were all silly unimportant items. i was like 15. why would you throw away a kid's belongings like that. even if “dumb.”#not to mention how unimportant i was already feeling at the time. none of this helped.#and i was fully convinced that yeah this is what my life should be like. i don't want to be selfish so. i'll just embrace minimalism.#that is what i deserve.#which only later as an adult after i started comparing my experiences to other people i realized #hey. what the fuck was that.#do you guys really not remove all of the layers that make you human??

catch me sobbing bc I'm about to have a desk of my own for the first time since I was like 17 😭

#me spending my entire adulthood taking up as little space as possible #everywhere I'm living in an effort to be less of a burden on whoever I'm living with #now my mom's gone & cleaned out the storage room so I can make it my space to exist so I'm not just isolating in my bedroom #we spent today in town buying shit for the room.... desk & chair & lights etc....#and I'm v emotional about this..... i think it's going to help me a lot to like. actually exist & function.#not to get emotional about my pathetic life on the dash or anything but wow... realizing it's probably not just depression & anxiety #and that I'm actually probably autistic has done fucking WONDERS for me like. taking steps forward again.#actively working on change & like. figuring out how to cope & regulate & not blame everything about my life on myself being lazy adjgksh #honestly it's 7pm but I'm probably gonna set the desk up tonight bc I'm so fuckign excited to get that room set up now oh man...#that'll probably be most of my day tomorrow too tbh. at least until we leave to go watch d-day in cinema 😭😭#IT'S A GOOD WEEK GUYS..... it's gonna be a good week #━━ ˟ ⊰ ✰ ooc ⋮ don’t @ me.#personal cw

Mom called me a shitty roommate today bc after months of her telling me to rent a uhaul (too young to do so) and then flaking out on me whenever I asked her if we could it on x day, I gave up on trying to get my bf's heavy TV and dresser and ordered a mountable tv, instead of buying more storage totes so that I could add to the ever increasing stack of totes in our guest bedroom

#leading up to and since raine moved in i have thrown tons of shit away and so has he #we both moved from larger rooms into a smaller shared room #meanwhile my parents moved into a bigger room with a bigger closet and claimed the garage for storage space #i have several decorative items that would look cute out in the livingroom without clashing with her style #but she considers all my items ''clutter'' so i have to keep them in my room or in a tote #except all my totes are already occupied by other shit #i threw away 90% of my friends items that i was storing here in an effort to make my room tidier #(and to ensure that my items are not littered around the livingroom and kitchen)#i got a bed frame with drawers so i could store items in there #i am not a horder and neither is raine but we have to condense two peoples worth of things into one room and two closets #and like i said before we both had bigger rooms before moving to this house #my room was way larger before. even with my giant ass desk (that doesnt fit in my room) my old room #didnt look cluttered bc it had lots of open space. even tho that was a 2 bedroom apartment #and this is a 3 bedroom duplex with garage the square footage in this house was budgeted poorly #my hallway is literally a snail spiral shape so a lot of space is lost to the curvature #not to mention my parents have bought more shit than we had at the old place to fill up space that we all shared in our old apt #except i am going to mention it bc i think this is totally unfair #i get that my mom has never liked when my room is messy. she's my mom and she is going to nag #but she does not have to use my room or bathroom (she has her own. thats bigger than mine)#and i keep my bathroom clean for guests #and she has made it clear that she is unwilling to help me even when i ask and tried to plan out ways to cheaply get more furniture #raine has had tote boxes in his car since he moved in bc he knows that we dont have a place for them inside #not to mention several collectable swords (including limited edition skyrim sword and genuine damascus)#which is kind of a fucking road safety hazard since they are real blades #but he puts up with it bc he doesnt want to add to the clutter #i bought this tv and wall mount bc i know that as long as my tv is grounded to a dresser i cant rearrange my room to make more space in here #and im donating my current tv to the guest bedroom bc they wont buy one for it #they also wont buy a dresser for it which is why my mom was hounding me to rent a uhaul for raines dresser #(i cannot stress this enough. we are both TWENTY. how are we going to rent a car. we need older adult help!!!)

I feel like it really shouldn't be unreasonable for 2 professional workers in their late twenties to feel like they should be able to afford a 2-bedroom apartment

#my bf and I both make pretty ok salaries #but not like Tech Worker salaries #and we still can barely afford to rent a one-bedroom apartment #let alone attempt to buy anything #i literally just want room for my piano keyboard and my books??#i feel like that's not a lot to ask #most of my books are at my parents' house because we literally have nowhere to put them #literally don't know how anyone is expected to afford kids #to adults working full time can't afford an apartment big enough for children #bootlickers are always like 'just get housemates!'#but I feel like when you're almost 30 you shouldn't HAVE to
