Top 5 Skin Care Products You Must Buy In the Summer
Your skin is prone to pollution, dust, dirt and much more. It needs care and attention to stay healthy and glowing. The skin condition changes in different seasons. The skin care products and procedures also need to change accordingly. Summertime means more sweat and pollution.
The harmful UV rays of the sun cause immense damage to the skin barrier. In such a situation, you need products that address these issues and offer gentle care and protection. This article details five skincare essentials for the summer to help you achieve glowing summer skin.
5 Skin Care Products Must For Summer
1. A Good Sunscreen for Complete Protection
Sunscreen is one skin care product that you should have. It is something you should use all year round. In summer, it is non-negotiable. Your skin is shielded by it from UVA and UVB beams.
Applying sunscreen is fundamental whether you invest a ton of time outside for relaxation or business. Long-term sun exposure causes tanning, burns from the sun, sun spots, and early signs of ageing.
Various sorts of sunscreen are available on the market in terms of skin type and form. In the event that you have dry skin, pick a moisturising sunscreen. In the event that you have oily skin, pick a mattifying sunscreen. You can get sunscreens such as creams, sunsticks, and compressed powders.
It is critical to apply sunscreen even when you are inside during summer. While going out, apply it after your moisturising cream, and afterward, use your makeup if necessary. There are additionally tinted sunscreens accessible from premium skin care brands that go about as both makeup and sunscreen.
2. A Deep Cleanser to Remove all Dirt and Pollution
Dirt and dust accumulate on your skin at all times. During summer, this issue increases even more. It is therefore important to buy a good quality cleanser to remove all dust and impurities clogged in your pores. It also prevents fungal and bacterial infections.
Choose a cleanser that is gentle and deep-cleansing. Look for organic products that are not heavy on chemicals. It is essential to cleanse your face two times a day. You can also choose a face wash if you have very oily skin. Working professionals can carry cleansing pads to clean their faces when needed in a convenient way. You can find some of the best skin care products in UAE, including top-end cleansers at affordable rates, using coupons from Dealsandcouponsmena.
3. A Soothing Toner for Rejuvenate the Skin
Your skin goes through a lot during summer. Moreover, if you need to use makeup on a daily, the cleansing routine can sometimes be a bit harsh for the skin. Your skin also produces more oil during summer. It clogs the pores and is a major cause of acne and pimples.
A toner is one skin care product that addresses a number of summer-based skin concerns. It tightens and reduces the appearance of pores. It also helps control excess oil production. The best skin care toner will also hydrate the skin and balance its pH level. Sometimes, dust and makeup residue remain even after cleaning. A toner helps remove that as well.
Use a toner after cleaning both during the morning and at night to achieve smooth and healthy skin. Look for toners that have aloe vera, witch hazel, green tea, rose water, hyaluronic acid and salicylic acid in their ingredient list.
4. A Hydrating Moisturiser to Pamper the Skin
You feel way more thirsty during summer and crave those watermelon coolers. Just like you, your skin also needs some extra hydration. The heat during summertime often messes up the moisture balance of your skin. A moisturiser is one of the skin care products that can help resolve this issue.
However, summer moisturisers and winter moisturisers are not the same. For summer, go for gel-based lightweight moisturisers that have a mattifying effect. It will lock in the necessary hydration and prevent excess oil buildup. It also acts as a barrier against pollution and UV rays.
Use a moisturiser as the last skin care step before sunscreen. It will soothe your skin and prevent redness, irritation, flakiness, and inflammation.
5. A Skin Serum Based on Your Concern
A good serum offers an additional layer of hydration and protection during summer. There are different types of serums in the market with different compositions. Each addresses a different concern. Some top serums you can use during summer are:
Hyaluronic Acid Serum: It offers hydration and plumpness. It also gives the skin an instant glow. A hyaluronic acid helps prevent excess oil production and prevents the onset of pimples.
Vitamin C Serum: It helps prevent hyperpigmentation and removes dark spots caused by sun exposure. Vitamin C serums also have skin-brightening and collagen-promoting abilities.
Niacinamide Serum: A niacinamide serum prevents early signs of ageing like wrinkles. It also reduces the appearance of dark spots and blemishes. It strengthens the lipid barrier of the skin and offers sun protection as well.
You can use any serum or alternate between two or three, using one daily. While serums take some time to show results, the outcomes are worth the wait. Moreover, the more intense composition ensures a deeper level of repair, which guarantees long-standing results. It is best to use serums at night as the last step of skincare.
A Few Key Things to Remember
Skin care is not just about applying products. Your lifestyle plays a major role in how your skin feels and looks. During summer, make it a habit to drink plenty of water. Also, incorporate fruits and vegetables with high water content like cucumbers and watermelons.
Steer clear of oily and spicy food that heat your body. Also, detox drinks like chia seed water and lemon water can cool your body and give it the necessary energy. Limit your air conditioner time since prolonged AC exposure dries out your skin as well.
Final Words
Investing in the best skin care products is an investment for your own skin and health. Skin care during summer can be done with just the five products mentioned in the post to achieve healthy and glowing skin. The process is simple and will not take more than 10 to 15 minutes. Remember, each step is necessary, and it is vital to follow a routine to get the best results.

January Empties.
I swear January feels longer than 31 days! It just feels like it lasts for far longer than it actually is & this is probably not helped by the amount of my empties this month. There's a lot more than normal!
So without rabbiting on for much longer, I'll start talking about the products. There is also the Elf eye primer empty in that photo, but I've already mentioned it in a previous post so I won't be mentioning it in this post.
Bonnyhill Niacinamide Serum:
I picked this up by accident in TK Maxx when I had finished my previous niacinamide serum. I tend to prefer the ones with added zinc due to me having oily skin. It does make my skin super soft but it is super tacky before applying it. If it had zinc in it I would definetly get it again.
Bayliss & Harding Goodness Sandalwood & Rich Vanilla Shower Gel:
I loved this so much! It smells absolutely gorgeous & it has a very warming scent. It foams well & I loved using it. I would 100% get this again!
Barry M That's How I Roll Waterproof Mascara:
I'm a huge Barry M fan- I especially love their lipsticks & nail varnishes. This however...it's decent. It has a curved brush to curl your lashes but it never did that with mine.
Barry M Pineapple Lip Scrub:
This is very messy! It reminds me of the lip scrubs by Lush but at a fraction of the price. It tastes good as well.
We Love Lip Balm:
This is a pretty good lip balm. I struggle finding a lip balm that leaves my lips soft, but this did it. My main problem is its in a cardboard tube which gets soggy around the edges from using this lipbalm, but it's not much of a complaint & I can understand why they used cardboard (so you can pop the tube into the recycling bin after use).
Collection Mattifying Makeup Fixing Spray:
I got this due to not being able to find the Barry M one. The positives are that it's got a good spray & it keeps your makeup on. However, it smells strongly of hairspray & it seems to have 2 different types of alcohol in it according to the ingredient list. I wouldn't buy it again for those two negatives.
Dr Organic Rose Otto Cleansing Lotion:
I've been using this for years & I was absolutely gutted that I went into my local Holland & Barrett & found out it had been discontinued. However, I saw that my local TK Maxx had it & I got two bottles of it. I love this- it smells absolutely divine (it has a rose scent) & it has a very luxurious feeling.
Ciroa Body Sugar Body Scrub:
I'll be overly honest- I wasn't keen on this. I thought it might foam (it didn't) & the scent was very light. It was gentler than the coffee scrub but I wouldn't get it again.
Head & Shoulders Citrus Fresh Shampoo:
This is just a standard anti-dandruff shampoo. I've found Head & Shampoo's is one of the very few shampoo's that stops my head from being itchy & scabby.
Novaclear Hydro Day Cream:
This was an absolute joy to use! It has a very light smell which reminded me of either honeydew melon or apple & even though it says it is a day cream, it was actually more of a gel formula which felt very creamy when massaging it into my face. It's very lightweight & it comes with a little spatula. Because of how lightweight it is, it wouldn't be uncomfortable to apply SPF on top of it.
The main complaint I have is the packaging- it comes in a huge box with a tiny tub inside so it was a disappointment realising there was less inside. The packaging isn't eye-catching so its fairly easy just to not give it a second look but it is a genuinely brilliant moisturiser.
My Skin Matters Micellar Water:
This is a Sainsburys own brand micellar water & is is just a basic micellar water. It is very similar to the Garnier one but at a fraction of the price. It does claim to remove waterproof makeup, but it didn't seem to really do that.
Soap & Glory Hand Food Hand Cream:
I'm a big fan of Soap & Glory. This hand cream helps keep my hands soft & the scent of it actually reminds me of sherbet sweets even though the scent is actually Original Pink.
And that's it. There was a lot of things I used up this month. Have you ever used any of these & what were your thoughts?
Until February (which should hopefully not feel as long as January!) see you all later.

Self Care 101 🦋
In this post I’ll be outlining my current routines as they relate to self care. I’ll cover everything from head to toe making sure not to skip your spirit. You cannot be a girl of ANYONE’S dreams if you aren’t taking care of the most important person in your world: you.
mornings:
wash face with gentle cleanser from curology, tone with organic Mamonde rose water and finish with rich moisturizer and spf30
brush teeth with activated charcoal toothpaste by Crest and baking soda for whitening and gum clarity
take vitamins : woman’s one a day, hair skin nails, biotin, vitamin c
drink glass of water then a cup of tea
black tea, raw cane sugar, a lemon slice, ginger
good for energy, immune function, and detox
showers:
this may sound so extra (😅), but depending on my hairstyle, I sometimes like to let the shower run for about five minutes with the door closed to create a sauna effect. this is especially if I have a mask on my hair.
my showers usually are about 20-30 minutes
I have a back brush, pink exfoliating gloves, a loofah, and tree hut body scrubs and I use them ALL.
I wash first with my dove beauty bar to assure clean skin before washing with EITHER my OGX Shea So Soft body wash or Dove Renewing Peony and Rose Oil body wash to add scent or silkiness to my skin.
hair removal:
I haven’t yet mastered the art of waxing myself so I’m still riding the shave wave. *when I do I’ll make a post 4 that*
I exfoliate throughly before AND after shaving
I shave my entire body using Tree Hut Shaving Oil and a nice conditioner I’m not using. This leaves my skin super soft and silky and helps the razor to glide without skipping. I use Gillette Venus. no less than five blades, anything less is ASKING for nicks and a hard time.
when I don’t feel like shaving, I use Nair. use at your own risk. yes, I Nair my ENTIRE BODY. only leaving it on for about 7 minutes I rinse in WARM (not hot) water and exfoliate afterwards. it is imperative to moisturize after to avoid irritation. however, Nair is much easier to do than shaving and seems to last an inkling longer.
after shaving, once a month, I pull out my KENZZI. it’s an IPL device and it has helped to slow the growth of my hair. it’s noticeable for us long, thick haired chicks. I use the second to lowest setting as a melanated babe, as the higher settings could burn me.
I know many endorse the hair on women movement and I can understand it. But I personally love my skin silky, hairless, and smooth.
nights:
after eating dinner, I wash my face and apply the tiniest bit of glycolic serum and my curology night cream. my skin has been the best it’s been in a few years. then I brush my teeth and rinse with peroxide.
every four days I give myself a facial
my favorite face masks:
The Ordinary Salicylic Acid mask
The Ordinary AHA + BHA mask
all Tony Moly sheet masks *luvvvvv those*
GLAMGLOW SUPERMUD clearing treatment *fav*
Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme mask
Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Gel mask
Peter Thomas Roth Irish Moor Mud mask
Peter Thomas Roth Rose Stem Cell Bio-Repair Gel mask
ORIGINS Clear Improvement mask
An at home honey and aloe mask
I apply a rich facial moisturizer and get to bed.
I then write in my planner my new plans and what I did that day if I hadn’t already. then after that I script and make mood boards in my diary. then I read a little. currently reading: Making Faces by Kevyn Aucoin, and Live Like a hot Chick by Jodi Lipper.
emotions:
I talk to my grandmother about my feelings, she helps me sort things out. please try to find one person you trust to talk to, my messages are always open. 💓 I often overthink. I suffer from anxiety and clinical depression. sometimes these things make me FEEL limited. these experiences wax and wane. I remind myself that the darkness is temporary.
I write in my diary what I feel and track my emotions for potential patterns. I don’t manufacture or sugar coat my feelings, I just talk.
sometimes you need a good cry. let it out. clean your slate. you’ll always feel better, sometimes great after a hard, deep sobbing cry.
I try to get out of the house and get some sunlight. it helps brighten my mood sometimes.
baths:
LOVE taking baths I don’t care what the status quo is about dirt. just rinse off. I love wrapping my hair up and soaking in warm-hot water.
first I run the water. as it’s running I add my bubble bath, then body wash, then my Shea Moisture fragrant coconut oil. it smells soooo good, literally yummy. then I inevitably scream from dipping my toe in the hot water. finally I get in, scrub down my body, emphasis on feet. then I wash, and just relax. I’ve even fallen asleep in the tub once, I was so zen.
careful not to soak too long or overdo it with your products. synthetic materials lingering in your lady bits for too long cause cause infections like bv or uti
some women add tea tree oil, acv, or even Aztec clay to their baths for wellness purposes. I love adding essential oils to my baths to relax and the natural scent is just great 🥺
when I get out I always put something that feels lush and soft on. *invest in super soft, comfy bath towels, they’ll make you feel so luxurious and soft after a nice relaxing bath*
flower:
the yoni is something sensitive that needs to be taken care of thoroughly, and differently than the rest of your body. it’s not recommended to use soaps down there, it can unbalance things and make you itch. also make you prone to infection. this is why I use clear warm water to clean. if I use soap it’s a sensitive, gentle formula. don’t ever try to clean the cavity. she’s a self cleaning vessel.
to shave, I trim my hair down as close as possible and use a FIVE BLADE razor with conditioner and take my time. making sure not to pass a spot twice, I apply moderate pressure and move slowly. when finished I rinse and scrub gently. I PAT not rub dry. to finish off I apply TendSkin, and salicylic acid to avoid ingrowns. once that’s soaked in I apply shea butter. very soft and pretty 🌸
⚠️ DO NOT PUT ON TIGHT PANTIES OR RIGHT PANTS AFTER SHAVING. it restricts the hairs and causes irritation and ingrowns. throw on some comfy loose shorts for a while, let it breathe
dietary needs:
drink plenty of water
cranberry juice
vitamin c
minimal red meat
probiotics
at home vagacial for the high maintenance girlies:
*make any necessary extractions with pointed and slanted tweezers *
scrub:
brown sugar, tea tree oil, a little shea butter
exfoliating and anti inflammatory
mask:
baking soda, fresh lemon juice, vitamin e oil, papaya juice, gelatin
fixes discoloration and brightens the skin while softening
moisturize:
aloe vera gel, rose hip seed oil
smelling sweet:
ah yes, my favorite part. I love fragrance so much. I love to smell like you could literally break off a piece of me and eat it.
I find that using fragrant washes and oils make your scent more strong and help it linger. I already mentioned the body washes I use. the tree hut scrubs I use smell amazing also. I alike to add essential oils and man made scents like strawberry and chocolate to my Shea Moisture oil (so yummy).
I also use a fragrant lotion, eau de parfum, and fragrance mist.
here’s a list of some of my favorites:
perfumes:
jimmy choo fever
coach floral blush
yves saint laurent mon paris
victoria’s secret bombshell
victoria’s secret scandalous
valentino
fragrance mists:
victoria’s secret velvet petals, pure seduction, warm and cozy
bath and body works a thousand wishes, fiji pineapple palm, warm vanilla sugar, black raspberry vanilla
oils:
coconut
sweet almond
peppermint
chocolate scented essential oil
strawberry scented essential oil
orange
grapefruit
eucalyptus
sweetest combo ever:
vanilla extract, coconut oil, shea butter, and your favorite perfume. you’ll be smelling like a warm cupcake with extra sprinkles and icing 🧁
layering:
oil, lotion, eau de parfum, mist
pulse points:
inside elbows and knees, in between thighs, inner arms, behind ears, back of neck, ankles
hair:
it’s super important to keep your hair moisturized. quenched tresses move, grow, shine and bounce. dry hair is limp, lackluster, and extremely fragile
my fav diy deep conditioner:
a banana, half an avocado, three spoons of honey, an egg, a spoonful of mayo, a spoonful of coconut, olive, and castor oil each
strength from egg, avocado, mayo and olive oil
moisture from avocado and honey
cover damp CLEAN hair and scalp in mixture and cover with a plastic bag, then towel for an hour, rinse thoroughly, and seal in moisture
fav hair products:
castor oil
fusionplex conditioner and mask
Aussie conditioner
wella goji berry mask
coconut oil
style booster edge control
helpful tips:
when shampooing, concentrate on the scalp and wash thoroughly twice, as the suds will naturally cleanse your stands without drying and stripping them
rinse hair with apple cider vinegar every now and then. it restores your ph balance, smooths the cuticle, clarifies the strands, and adds shine
always add oil and leave ins to DAMP hair, never dry; this will ensure you’re sealing in moisture
try to use smooth fabrics to dry your hair, bath towels encourage frizz and breakage
hands and feet:
and last but not least, let’s cover manicuring and pedicuring.
it’s super important to make sure your nails are either DONE or filed, shaped, and smooth. at home maintenance is super easy. make a point to scrub your hands and feet well when bathing. make sure to stay on top of your cuticles by trimming or pushing them back. I like the look that pushing them gives. I use an orangewood stick, metal pusher and cuticle softener to make the process super easy and safe. after I’m done I add my pineapple scented cuticle oil. I do this on my fingers and toes.
invest in a rasp and pumice stone for your feet and use these gently every two weeks after soaking them in warm foot salts. rough usage can cause cuts and irritation. in between treatments keep your feet soft by slathering them in a moisturizing foot cream, cocoa/shea butter then oil to seal it all in. buy some soft thick aloe infused socks and wear them to sleep. you’ll thank me
for info on how I do my nails click this
well, that’s all I’ve got. I truly hope you enjoyed my post! it’s always fun sharing my advice with you all. any feedback is appreciated and question is welcomed ♡

Acne Cures on a budget (revamped)
Acne is a very tricky subject that millions of people struggle with- sometimes for their entire lives. If you have struggled yourself I’m sure you’re aware that there is no cure-all for acne, but there may be some methods for healing the skin that you haven’t heard yet so I’m going to share everything I know with you just in case. First, the basics:
1. Drink plenty of water and eat healthy foods. This is just a given. If you want to feel comfortable in your skin you may have to make some lifestyle changes. that Includes getting regular exercise and sunlight. 2. Recognize the fact that your skin is an organ. Like any organ it has an ecosystem of healthy bacteria that ought to be treated with care- much like a garden. It will need different things on different days, and in order to reach it’s fullest potential, the gardener (that’s you) will need to pay close attention to it.
3. Be aware that pimples are infected pores which are attempting to heal themselves. The puss inside of them is a soup of white blood cells which are trying to repair the skin for some reason. Finding the root cause of the infection before treatment is ideal.
A few common acne culprits: Your acne could be hormonal, it could be caused by allergies (ex: food allergies, detergent allergies), or your skin may be getting bacterial infections from unsanitary surfaces or poor air quality.
Now to get into the technical stuff:
~If your skin is hurting, red, swollen, try putting down harsh chemicals like Niacinamide and Retinol, and try something calming like rosehip oil or aloe vera.
Amaranthus oil, tea tree oil, rapeseed oil, rosewater, and witch hazel are all examples of gentle things that are amazing for the skin. I know natural skin healers can be very expensive, but if you can’t afford them don’t hesitate to steel them from your local, unethical corporate store. If you need tips on s***lifting, try visiting this Reddit community at https://www.reddit.com/r/IllegalLifeProTips/
~Rinse your face with cool or cold water every time you wash it. This seals up your pores and prevents dirt and bacteria from entering them.
~Make sure that the things that touch your face every day are clean. Make sure that the cloths and towels that you use on your face are clean. Disinfect face tools regularly and use hot water on wash cloths to kill bacteria between washes. Clean your glasses. Change your sheets and pillow cases frequently. In addition, avoid touching your face constantly with your hands as well as your hair, and keep your hands and hair clean.
~⚠️Don’t pick your face! Pimples are like Petri dishes full of puss and bacteria and when you pop them you are just spreading the ickiness around to the rest of your face. In addition to that, every time you pop a pimple you are damaging the barrier of your skin, which not only can cause scarring and dark spots, but it can leave your skin vulnerable to bad bacteria and cause further breakouts. For these reasons, you should only pop a zit as a last resort.
~Popping: If you have very stubborn acne and insist on popping anyway, go to an aesthetician if you have the privilege to do so
If you can not see an aesthetician, try this method for safe pimple popping:
Wash the affected area with hot water and a mild soap. Pop the pimple making sure you get EVERYTHING out of it, wash it again with extra hot water, dry it with something clean. Then, apply lots of pressure to the popped pimple so that it doesn't get the chance to “refill” itself (use a q-tip if you have one for at least 30 seconds to 5 minutes depending on how big the pimple is). Next, put some rubbing alcohol, and some diluted tea tree oil on the pimple and cover it with the sticky part of a band-aid. Leave the band-aid on until you are certain that it will not grow back.
~🛑 Stop using all of those skincare products. Obviously if they worked, you wouldn't even be reading this. Using certain products (especially the harsher ones) can cause allergic reactions and sometimes dry out your skin, which can trigger your skin to produce extra oil to overcompensate, which leads to acne. They also tend to eat away at you financially. Break the vicious cycle. Try tossing all of your products and use a mild soap and simple moisturizer for a few weeks before starting anything new again.
If you insist on using acne products then follow this important rule. 🚨 🚨 Do not use multiple products within the same 3 weeks. Doing this makes it impossible to figure out which products could be helping or causing further damage to your skin.
~Know that many skin care products do have valuable substances, but they use fillers and fragrances that can ruin your skin. Try looking at the ingredients in your skin care products, researching the individual components, and purchasing said components individually. Ex: instead of buying an ‘aloe infused moisturizer’, try purchasing real aloe vera gel- or better yet buy an aloe vera plant- and use that ingredient as you see fit. It can be more cost effective, better for the environment, and a good learning experience.
~Avoid wearing foundation and concealer. Of course it is tempting to cover acne with makeup, but your makeup can add fuel to the fire by clogging pores and spreading bad bacteria
~If you are applying makeup to the face, make sure that you are regularly cleaning your brushes and disinfecting your pallets. Dirty makeup supplies don’t just contribute to acne, they can cause gnarly infections in sensitive areas (like the eyes) and send you to the hospital.
Now here are some advanced methods for healing the skin. Feel free to alter them so that they suit your specific needs:
🧖🏾♀️The Steam Method:
If you suspect that your soap is a culprit, or you just want to try something new, replace your morning cleansing routine with this (give skin 2 weeks time to purge before deciding whether or not this works for you). Get a light oil, preferably rosehip or coconut, and rub it on your face very well for at least 30 seconds. Then, take a clean washcloth and submerge it in the hottest water you can take. Take the washcloth and firmly press it against the entire surface of your face until it cools. Use the cloth to remove all the oil you can manage.
🧖🏼♀️The other Steam Method:
Get a pot and boil water in it. Put your face over the boiling water (not too close lol) and let the steam open up your pores for 5-10 minutes. After you are done, use a clean, damp washcloth to wipe your face. Then get an ice cube or cold water and put it all over your face to seal your pores back up. Personally I like putting tea in the water sometimes. Peppermint tea and green tea are great.
🩹 Bandaging:
Now this might sound ridiculous, but I have learned that putting bandages/band-aids onto your face at night can make a world of difference when it comes to acne and hyperpigmentation. My personal method is this: each night after I steam and wash my face, I put tiny bit of rubbing alcohol onto each pimple. I then wash and sanitize my hands with rubbing alcohol, apply diluted tea tree oil to each problem area on my face, and then take an ordinary cloth bandage and cover every zit that I can find. After each zit is covered, I apply moisturizer and serums to the rest of the face as I normally would. Change bandages frequently (1-3 times a day depending on how oily your skin is), and leave them on the affected area until swelling has gone down. Repeat the process as many times as you’d like.
Usually normal bandaids are fine, but at times when my acne flares up badly I will go so far as to use gauze on large areas of my face. The cloth absorbs any oil that your skin secrets while protecting it from bacteria and sweat all night long, and the bandage seals in the tea tree oil so that it can penetrate your pores. I have noticed that the sticky part of a bandaid does the best job at diffusing large pimples as opposed to the white cloth part which is best for blackheads.
~If all else fails and you have done your best to cure acne at home, consider talking to a doctor if you have that option. 🥼 They may try to prescribe an acne medication, but these options tend to be extremely expensive and hard on your organs. Ask them if you can try a prescribed antibiotic supplement first.
Last but certainly not least: Sit with the fact that picture perfect skin is not healthy skin. As mentioned earlier, your skin is an organ. And it’s job is merely to protect your insides- not to get you onto the cover of a magazine. Your skin is not meant to look like the porcelain on a doll.
💊💊💊💊💊And that is it! wow that was a long post. I hope this can help at least one person out there with their skin troubles because this took forever

Working with Planetary Days
I hope it is okay that I share this excerpt from my Newsletter this month. It feels right/good to share this on Jupiter's day. Often times, I feel stuck in one place. I don't know how to move on from tasks or I struggle with even starting my day. I wanted to take the time to create an outline of options/ideas/tasks I can do based on the ruling planet for each day of the week. I think that once upon a time, College made me decide that Sundays were the days to get so much done, organize, plan, "catch up" etc- Friday and Saturday's were for indulging and forgetting about responsibilities, monday's were pure panic. Had I attuned to the energy of the days (and diving in deeper, planetary hours, which we will talk about next time) I may have navigated the days and my energy a lot better. Now I am a social worker, mental health practitioner and (baby) astrologer, trying to find the balance between self and others; solitude and socialization; responsibility and creativity; structure and response; Spirituality and Practicality; physical energy and mental energy and emotional energy; work and being still. The purpose of this 'outline' is to provide guidance, inspiration and direction on how to intentionally use our time, more so our Day to our energetic/celestial benefit. Stick around as I go over the days of the week. Monday-Lunes (Moon)- Wake up late (if you can) Express gratitude (aloud or in a journal/safe space) DEEP stretch (to your ability, if you experience a disability/limitation, I encourage DEEP breathing, belly breathing) Use 'Herbs' (Whatever this means to you) and slow, smooth music (Alternative, R&B, Country, Blues, Jazz, Instrumental, Waves, Sound Bowl if you have one) Drink your coffee/tea/tonic/elixir/etc in one spot. Don't move until you are finished with your cup. Take a drive for no reason or take the scenic route to your destination/appointment/work/home/etc. Either have comfort food or light eating (Whichever your body calls for that day) IF you have a healthy relationship with Home: Call Home or friend or anyone you can be safe with. Water, water, water, water, water, water, water, water, water, water Snuggle up with a comfort item. Practice affirmations. Tell someone you love them (or something of the sort) Tuesday-Martes (Mars)- If you are able, take a walk; pilates; yoga; Tai Chi; dance. If you experience limitations or live with a disability, move to your capacity (bobbing your head to music, stretching upper body, deep breathes, chair exercises, rotating feet/ankles, whatever you are comfortable with. I am able bodied so may be ignorant to the options here-PLEASE educate me if you can think of anything further that those limited can engage in Mars like energy). Earthing Face Masks/Steaming/Scrub Hair Masks/Deep cleaning/Salt scrub Tend to yard work (if applicable and if able) Laundry (ALL OF IT, that means cleaning, drying and folding too LOL) Any tasks you have been putting off, focus on these first. Create a to do lists, categorized by home; office/work; spirit; business, etc. Clean your Spiritual tools Clean the space you spend the most time in Work or be outside if you can. Just get out of your usual environment if possible. Brainstorming. Go to bed early if you can. Wednesday-Miercoles (Mercury) Read 10-30 minutes (Of course more if you have the time and/or attention span😉) Journal 10-30 minutes, let it flow if you can. Create or engage in Minor to do lists Create a grocery list Fill out calendar for appointments or obligations- review your planner/calendar/schedule in general Work on your budget Respond to/Send emails-Respond to/make phone calls Work on/Send out Newsletter(s) Take notes on your readings Delete emails, clear voicemail box, go through paper mail Schedule meetings on this day talk to Spirit Ask questions-exchange information Watch a documentary or informative series Grab dinner or a drink with friends Paying attention to car maintenance may work well on this day as well (schedule an oil change/car wash/fill tank/etc) Learn something new Interact with/engage with your environment (if possible, for ex: walk around your neighborhood, smile at a neighbor; if you have the space work in your kitchen/living room instead of your office; if you're working in an office, see if there is a conference room available instead of your "cube") Get a massage/self massage (if possible/applicable) Turn your phone off, or notifications off before bed. Thursday-Jueves (Jupiter) Sleep in if you can Express Gratitude (out loud or in a journal or safe space) Pray Charge and/or cleanse crystals Take a salt bath/shower Soak your feet (if you can, get an Ionized foot bath) Take one risk today, walk by faith not by sight today Get out of your comfort zone (this will look different for everyone) Buy something you've been saving for or start saving for something Try something new Water your damn plants and/or talk/sing to them Play games (board games, phone games, computer games, video games) Watch a comedy Spell work and rituals Try a new tea or elixir Consult with a friend, guide, therapist, energy worker, etc Friday-Viernes (Venus) Make up, moisturize, hair spray/gel, rings, necklaces, perfume, heels, slacks, corsets, glasses, nail polish- WHATEVER you have to put on your bodythat'ss an extra step than usual-Do it! Indulge in your first (or last) meal today Walk (or drive) somewhere scenic/beautiful Watch the sunrise or sunset. Or catch the moonlight Practice your love language with yourself or with others "Love" yourself (hint hint, wink wink) Make your "space" pretty (this can be your bedroom, living room, kitchen, garden, car, this can be social media platforms, journals) BUMP or BLAST some music Make a playlist Aromatherapy, cleanse or charge your Tools, talk to friends/family, set boundaries and don't do anything you don't want to today (if possible 😉) paint, draw, read, shop, write Take a picture (of you or something/someone beautiful) Saturday-Sabado (Saturn) Start a to do list for today and especially for the week ahead Take care of house (whatever this means to you) Meditate Study Fast (If able/applicable) Journal (esp related to your long term goals, worldly affairs/responsibilities) Clean your space and get rid of what is no longer needed (clean out fridge, throw out papers, take out garbage, pull weeds, etc) Clean your car (if able/applicable) Ask Spirit and Ancestors "What work needs to be done?" Use sound bowl (if you have one), binaural beats, instrumental music Water water water water water water water! Sunday-Domingo (Sun) Practice your skills/Review your skills Perform service (whatever 'service' means to you) Post on social media/Establish social media presence Socialize, actively engage with others and/or your surroundings (if able/applicable) Journal (check your Ego, gas yourself up or practice humility) Review/Activate spells and rituals Pray Express gratitude Choose something specifically for you today Aura cleansing (if able/applicable) I hope this is guiding and helpful to at least someone. I experience such guilt around how I spend my time during the day and this outline/list has helped me attune to the energy of the day and generally make the most out of it. This is a light hearted, intuitive post meant to guide and validate how we can use our energy. I try to be mindful that not everyone has the resources, space, freedom, privilege, ability or circumstances to engage in such activities, my only hope is that at least one thing on this list can be activated in your days.

Please talk about skin care! What’s ur routine, do you wash your face in the shower or over the sink, different brands you’ve used and what’s your favorite, etc.
i'm glad you asked! okay so to preface my routine i have dry-combination skin, eczema, and take meds to keep my acne in control.
morning routine:
gel cleanser - glossier's milky jelly cleanser (it's alright. i will probably try and find a gel cleanser that has a bit more going on formula wise when i'm out. also, i oil cleanse b4 getting in the shower and then wash in the shower with this cleanser)
am serum - herbivore's cloud jelly serum (it's a great alternative to a hyaluronic acid serum and gives the same glowing/plumping effect! hyaluronic acid can become sensitizing if you overuse it and it's already in my moisturizer so i wanted an alternative in my serum)
moisturizer/sunscreen - the naked bee everyday facial moisturizer spf 30 (would NOT recommend, i got it cause i like their lip balms. it makes me look greasy as fuck when i use the proper amount. i'm almost out and i'm planning on buying the la roche posay melt in sunscreen milk when i'm finally empty)
lip balm - jack black's intense therapy lip balm spf 25 in the flavor black tea and blackberry (LOVE this stuff!)
evening routine:
oil cleanser - dhc's deep cleansing oil (i double cleanse! this is pretty good, no complaints here)
gel cleanser - glossier's milky jelly cleanser
exfoliant - the ordinary's lactic acid 5% + HA (this is great, but I think i'm ready to graduate to the 10%)
pm serum - cosrx's advanced snail 96 mucin power essence (nice enough, but i'm on the search for a better pm serum with some decent actives)
moisturizer - cosrx's hyaluronic acid intensive cream (good, but nothing exciting tbh. i'm nowhere close to finishing it but i don't think i'll rebuy)
facial oil - the ordinary's 100% organic cold pressed rose hip seed oil (i use this when i'm feeling extra dry and my skin LOVES this shit. it's also what i put on right out of the shower)
i would be remiss not to gush abt my fave thing ever in my routine: the dieux forever eye mask! they're silicone reusable undereye masks that you can use with any hydrating product (serum, eye cream, moisturizer) to help with your undereyes! i use them with my herbivore cloud jelly and when i tell you my dehydrated and sunken undereyes glow, i mean they GLOW! i'll slap these bad boys on whenever i'm feeling tired and see the best results after 10-30 mins. they're only $25 too, and are soooo worth it!! james welsh clued me into these before they got popular and i've never been so thankful to a skinfluencer in my life lmao!
thank you for letting me gush! i love skincare lol
