Do compression socks keep feet warm?
Yes, compression socks can help keep feet warm, particularly those designed for outdoor activities like hiking or skiing. Here’s how they achieve this:
Improved Blood Circulation: Compression socks enhance blood flow, which can help maintain warmth in your feet, especially in cold conditions.
Material: Many compression socks are made from materials that provide good insulation while wicking away moisture. This combination helps keep feet dry and warm.
Snug Fit: The tight, supportive fit of compression socks reduces the amount of cold air that can circulate around the feet, providing an additional layer of warmth.
Layering: Compression socks can be worn under regular hiking socks or thermal socks for extra warmth without adding too much bulk.
For the best results, choose compression socks specifically designed for cold weather or outdoor activities. These often incorporate features like thicker fabric or thermal insulation to help keep your feet warm in colder conditions.

So, this week I ordered a new couch pillow because I had a husband pillow full of shredded memory foam, and the thing needs to be opened and shifted around about once a week with the way I use it so it doesn't shape up weird and actually fuck up my back when I bought it to NOT fuck up my back.
I now have a wedge pillow, made of one piece of foam. And I ordered a book cushion from etsy, and I just wanna say to anyone who has thought "that adaptive thing seems like it would be useful, but I'm not disabled, so maybe it's not for me?"
It's for you. Trust me. My back hurt because I was slouching weird on the couch. I got a husband pillow. It helped a lot. But, it turns out, what I need is one giant piece of memory foam, not a bunch of tiny bits.
And the book cushion? Books are heavy sometimes. Being able to rest it higher in my lap so it's easier to read and hold? Better for my body.
Also, do you wake up with pain in the mornings? Try a contour pillow and a knee pillow.
Get those extra-strong treaded soles to wear with your heels because you wobble otherwise.
Wear compression gloves when you type. Get those orthopedic shoes because you can walk longer distances in more comfort. Buy the bra that actually supports the weight of your boobs. Get a lapdesk for your computer. Use a neck pillow even at home to keep your neck straight. Wear socks to bed. Listen to audiobooks. Read large print books.
You see something that you think will work for you and improve how you feel? Use it! Let's fucking normalize adaptative shit for everyone!

wrote this; goodnight
It occurred to him as he watched the Jinko down his 7th bowl of Ochazuke. 7 bowls of Ochazuke that Akutagawa had paid for. It was a fleeting thought, there and gone so quickly he almost missed it. However, now that it had passed through once, it stayed in the back of his head.
The Jinko finished his bowl and eyed the dessert options listed on the wall behind the counter. They were in a small, family owned, restaurant. Only a few tables were there, in a line across from the counter and a few scattered outside. Jinko didn’t say anything, but Akutagawa ordered him dessert anyway. The thought came again.
After they had eaten, they headed out, parting ways. Akutagawa, now alone, had time to mull over the thought. Why did he pay for Jinko’s meal? Why did he buy him dessert when the JInko hadn’t even asked?
The thought lingered, persisted, and Akutagawa spent his night staring at his ceiling, demanding answers. None came to him, and he bored himself to sleep.
When he woke up, he’d almost forgotten it. He started his day, the way he always did, shower, tea, checking emails. Then he went through his to-do list. He’d already checked his emails and responded to them, so he marked it off. He had written to try and eat breakfast, as to make Gin happy. But all he got was a small bite of a muffin in before he started to feel sick. Later, he decided.
One by one, he went through his list. And then, the thought hit him again, as he stared at the next item on the list. Gloves.
He did not wear gloves. Jinko did.
Jinko often lost said gloves in fights because he never had the common sense to take them off before. However, gloves were more than a silly aesthetic — they helped the Jinko deal with his hand pain. Akutagawa had written to buy some for him.
The thought echoed in his head loudly as he made his way to the store; it screamed shrilly as he saw and bought compression socks as well. And as he paid, it rang so loudly he could not hear his thoughts.
Why.
How had he come upon this habit? Why did he end up buying the JInko things? The Jinko never really asked for anything. His eyes would just linger, he would make an offhand comment and then Akutagawa would get him the thing.
Was he sick? Perhaps he was dying. More.
He pondered over these thoughts as he climbed up the side of Jinko’s dorm building and knocked on the window. No one answered so he used Rashomon to open the window. Pathetic. Jinko should get better security. He made a mental note. He climbed through the window, and walked out of the room he had been in and into the living room. THe Jinko was laying on the couch, with headphones in. Asleep. Rashomon poked the Jinko. Jinko laughed and shifted. He did not wake. Akutagawa stared. He hated this man so much. So much he could not pull his eyes away from the peaceful look on his face — idiotic, he should never let his guard down. He looked at the slip of skin from where his shirt rode up — again, an easy thing to target. Weakness. Stupid Jinko. He looked at his silver hair, his nose, the freckles that dusted on his skin like gold. Then he placed his shopping bag with the gloves and socks on top of the Jinko and left the same way he came.
Stupid Jinko.
/
Jinko had sent him an insane amount of emojis and thank yous. All of which Akutagawa ignored. When they saw each other, from a distance, the stupid JInko had ignored the fact that AKutagawa was clearly busy and had tried to squeeze him to death. He’d left before Akutagawa could stab him. And Akutagwa was left, glaring at him, his face red with anger.
/
A bit after that infuriating accident that would not leave Akutagawa’s mind, he was in the common room at headquarters. He was waiting for orders, of course. He had no desire to hang out with the fools Gin called friends. They could do so much better.
Nonetheless, he was sitting there, and the Black Lizard, alongside Higuchi, were there too. Babbling about something unimportant. Hirotsu was there too, poorman. Akutagawa felt a strong sympathy for him.
He was half tuned in to their conversation, out of habit to be on guard than real interest. ANd then he heard the strangest thing.
“...And then!” Higuchi was in the middle of saying, talking fast and excitedly, “he paid for everything. And was like,” she made her voice deeper, “‘you can pay me back in other ways’”
“You read some weird things, sis,” Tachihara said.
“Just this one thing. It’s like a guilty pleasure.” Higuchi replied, laughing, “I mean I picked it up because a friend recommended it to me. I didn’t realize it was like a sugar daddy romance, but I felt too bad to put it down. Because my friend wanted me to read it.”
“Stockholm syndrome,” Gin wrote, nodding wisely. Higuchi laughed again and the conversation continued on.
However, one phrase stuck with Akutagawa. Sugar Daddy. Someone who pays for someone else. Like Akutagwa. To Jinko.
Holy fuck.
The words kept ringing in his ear even as the days went on and he met Jinko on the battlefield. It rang over and over as the fight ended and they got food, ordering it to go, and going to a secluded part of the park.
They were eating, Atsushi like a starving man, Akutagawa, barely, in his shock.
“Jinko…why am I acting like your sugar daddy?”
Jinko choked. Rashomon patted his back.
After a few gulps of water, Jinko finally breathed properly. He stared at him.
“Uh,” he said, intelligently, “do you want the sugar part now too? Because like, I wouldn’t know how to.”
“What the fuck is that?”
“...” Jinko stared at him. Then he threw his head back and laughed. “I’m fucking with you. You’re not my,” he laughed again, like he was laughing at Akutagawa; Akutagawa scowled, “sugar daddy.”
“I pay for you.”
“You pay, sure. But I like to think we’re balanced. I mean, I make you stuff all the time.”
That was true; the cupcakes that Jinko had given him were so adequate that Akutagawa tasted them in his dreams.
“And you only pay because you threatened to rip out my organs if I offered again.”
“Oh yes, I remember that.”
“Anyway, do you even know what,” he laughed again, “sugar daddy means?”
“Someone who pays for things,” Akutagawa responded, huffing. He wasn’t dumb. Atsushi cackled.
“In return for like sexual favors, dumbass.”
Akutagawa stared. Atsushi laughed more.
“Oh,” he said dumbly.
“Oh,” Atsushi echoed, still laughing.

My collection of tips for people who are just now developing a chronic illness or just now realizing they have one. ((As someone who has only been struggling with mine for a little over a year))
-dont blame yourself for not being able to do what you used to. Your body used to do its job to a better degree than it does now. You are not lazy bc your taking more breaks or bc you cant get out of bed. Your taking care of yourself. I struggle with this all the time. Especially considering my living situation. Shit doesnt get done when I dont do it but I simply cant sometimes.
-that leads me into my next point. Take advantage of your good days, but dont overwork yourself just bc your "not feeling chronically ill." When you have the energy, start the laundry, do the dishes, take out the trash, but still take breaks as needed
-keep a set of your meds literally everywhere. I have a pill box I specifically keep in my car with a weeks worth of my morning meds. I have a three sets of my most important meds in my bag at all times. I have pain meds stashed in every crevasse they could be stashed. Trust me, when your running late and you get half way to work before you realize you havent taken your meds your gonna want to be able to reach into your glove box and take them rq
-buy the mobility aid. You think you need a brace bc a specific joint hurts like hell and wont stay in place?? Get it. You cant walk for long periods of time and think a cane would help?? Get it. You think a shower chair would do you good so you dont pass out with shampoo in your eyes and naked?? Get it. Just get it. Walmart sells canes for under ten bucks and they work really well. They also have extra tips in a two back for 2.50. Dollar tree has braces and like 12 different pain creams. Five below also has some braces and quite a few pain relief options. You can also get them cheap on sites like shein or Amazon and sometimes depop. ((I know I know, dont support those sites but a bitch is broke and two bucks for compression socks is a fucking steal)) You can also sometimes find wheelchairs and canes and crutches at goodwill. It isnt a guarantee but its a good option if you need smt cheap. ((Be careful and check that their not broken before you buy))
-take the pain meds. Put on the pain cream. Ice that joint. You dont get brownie points for toughing it out and it will help your health in the long run. If someone looks at you like your weak for taking smt to help with your pain, their the problem, not you.
-create a good support system. Find the people who will drop their brand new iced coffee to stop you from slamming your head into the ground during a fainting spell. They are out there. Find them and hold onto them for dear fucking life
-try to make the best of what you can do every day. Put on cute earrings. Buy cute compression socks. Get braces that fit your vibe. Put stickers on your mobility aids. Put pins on your bag. Carry a cute weighted stuffie for when you need some extra comfort. Make the most of what you are capable of doing.

Now… transmasc Davey… he’s tumbling around in my brain like a loose sock in the dryer… thoughts and feelings? 👀
transmasc davey who’s always known he feels Different because sarah is his twin sister and they are supposed to be the same and she loves dresses but why doesn’t he? transmasc davey who tries out for sports even though he doesn’t really like them because sarah is the girly sister, so he’ll pick up the tomboy act, and it’s a lot more acceptable for girls to be covered in dirt and grime when you soend hours practicing softball every day. transmasc davey who asks for a haircut going into freshman year of high school because he’s tired of looking exactly like his sister and being mistaken for her, so he gets a shoulder length cut, and then a chin length cut, and then a pixie, and suddenly he feels a lot more confident. transmasc davey who, by some stroke of luck, got his father’s genes and is 6’1 as a junior in high school and knows he’s queer now, but doesn’t know why shopping for prom dressed with sarah is making his chest ache or why he feels more comfortable in baggy jeans and hoodies or why he has a crush on jack yet doesn’t want to pursue or ask him to prom because it feels weird and wrong right now.
transmasc davey who buys a compression bra the summer before senior year and realizes Oh. Oh wait. There’s something here. transmasc davey who comes out to sarah first before anyone else and sarah is only upset because davey could have worn a matching suit to her prom dress if he had figured this out like three months sooner. transmasc davey who chooses his name because he’s not a jewelry person but he’s worn a Star of David necklace every day for the past six years because his parents wanted him to have it.
transmasc davey who wears a binder to the first day of school senior year and excitedly tells all of his friends. transmasc davey gets to pick a suit out for winter formal and actually gets to have it tailored using some of his savings from his summer job. transmasc davey who asks jack to prom and has his first kiss in a school gym and finally feels right.
transmasc davey who gets to explore himself in college, who starts T freshman year and gets involved with activist groups on campus, who shares an apartment with jack starting sophomore year, who is a cat dad to an awful little kitten, who gets top surgery after saving for years and years as a college graduation gift to himself, who wears a suit to his wedding and helps organize pride events every summer and works with queer youth and marginalized communities and spends his life using his voice to advocate and build community and stick up for the little guys.
transmasc davey.

here are some small atsumu boyfriend headcanons
cant cook alone, he needs you there otherwise he refuses. its not even that hes bad at it he’s actually really good he just likes to have your company with him at all possible times
he buys you those matching blanket hoodies and will not take his off no matter what, its so cute to see this big buff volleyball player absolutely just drowning in a fluffy hoodie with avocados all over it
however, as cute as he may seem, hes still a little shit at heart. if you suggest a film for him to watch - with or without you - he will purposely not watch it until you either let it go or force him to, he has a whole list on his notes app titled “DO NOT ENGAGE!!!” just so he knows what ones to avoid the little fucker
he always has cold hands and feet and he puts them on you when you least expect it, mostly when you’re peacefully cuddling him
lovesss late night drives <333 every saturday night you both drive around the city listening to his specially curated playlist with a take away; its his favourite way to wind down after a stressful day
ass guy 100%, he cant keep his hands off of you for shit. he likes to hold both sides of your hips as he tries to squeeze past you just to get a feel (¬_¬)
like sakusa, i believe he also had braces growing up, when he was around 11-14 but it is a very sensitive subject for him as he used to get picked on for having them because osamu didnt :((
walks around the house in either a compression top (for obvious reasons) or grey joggers that rest justtt below his v-line (for obvious reasons)
he is always stocked up on toilet paper for some odd reason, like a weird amount of toilet paper and he wont tell you why??? he hardly even goes through it, its just there for months on end
he does that thing where he leans agains the door frame with his arm above his head instead of actually walking inside because he thinks it looks hot. which it does
has a collection of “really wacky and cool” socks (in his words) and every holiday you get him another pair to add to his collection
if you insult him for whatever reason or pull his hair please be prepared for him to moan, he literally thinks its the funniest shit ever
all my haikyuu boyfriend headcanons!
thankyou for reading! i hope you enjoyed it!<3
