To all my fellow AuDHD, ADHD, and Autistic mutuals and anyone out there.

If anyone tells you "you can't have sensory accommodations in the real world, you gotta suck it up buttercup," tell them that an AuDHD SLP-Intern you know was allowed to borrow the kids' sensory wiggle cushion to sit on in order to correct understimulation and be able to freaking focus enough to make progress on an assessment report. And you know what?

It worked.

The OT I work with suggested it, and I couldn't believe I never thought to ask...but it's because even I, a very out-and-proud ND who often openly stims, still has protective masking mechanisms and a tendency to self-gaslight that "I don't really need that".

Therefore, you tell them that an SLP-Intern, one of the people that is supposed to help treat communication disorders and help their fellow autistic, ADHD, and AuDHD people develop stronger communication skills and method that work for them needs sensory breaks, sensory accommodations, and written and visual directions to function.

And she may not be perfect, or the Best SLP Ever™, but no one is.

And she's highly valued by her employer.

You tell them it's doable. There's a reason for the phrase "reasonable accommodations", because plenty of them ARE. Sure, your employer may not be able to give you an extra month to turn in a report (though depending on your field and the procedures involved, perhaps they CAN - this is very field specific, of course) but they sure as shit can let you turn down lights, sit on sensory cushions and use sound filtering earplugs to do what you need to do. It's not obtrusive.

If my company can do it, other companies have no excuse.

Don't let anyone tell you common sense accommodations are a hassle, needless, or "distracting".

Your needs matter, they are valid, and they are NOT a hindrance to your employer.

Cybertoons: The Cyberpuff Girls

Bringing 1998 to 2077, stims, spice, and everything nice

The CyberPuff Girls are made up of the Solo Sisters: Blossom the Capable Merc, Bubbles the Cutesy Rimbo, and Buttercup the Chromed Bruiser.

All three are chipped with Strong Arm Series of cyber arms and subdermal armor, radio implants, and EMP threading. But Buttercup has the berserk implant to help hit even harder.

Belladonna has a very narrow, thin smile that moves her cheeks and face as little as possible. She tries her best to make it look natural, but it often looks a bit tight and forced (she’s trying to prevent getting wrinkles)

I think I’ve mentioned that Cassie fidgets by sprocketing her hands on and off sometimes but I’m going to mention it again because I love it. She also has a bad habit of playing with her hair and getting it tangled in her servos.

Nellie fidgets with her sunglasses a lot out of paranoia. She’s trying not to make it noticeable but she often doesn’t notice she’s doing it.

Rhys has a very vacant look and tends to stumble and hold his hands up in front of him frequently. This is because he’s nearsighted and doesn’t have good hand-eye coordination, but it makes him look startled a lot of the time

And I mean Stellaris… “quirky” and “eccentric” are two of the nicer words nobles tend to throw at him. He has a lot of stims, hand-flapping and rocking being two of them, so I guess you could count those? I don’t exactly find them quirks because they’re just part of his autism but they might count :). They’re definitely habits

Buttercup & Tulip for the flowery OC ask~

Thanks for the ask lizzy!! I got momentarily confused because I have OCs called Tulip and Buttercup 😅I've decided to answer for them because I never talk about them.

Buttercup - Does your OC have any odd quirks/habits?

Yeah, she's very twitchy. I decided that a lot of my fey characters stim, for some reason. So she clicks her tongue a lot and needs a lot of movement space and time. Flappy hands. Snapping her fingers. Messing up word order in a sentence. As for habits, apart from always making sure the kettle is full...I don't think so.

Tulip - If you could say/do one thing to your OC, what would you say/do?

Oh that's a good one. If I could say anything to Tulip it would probably be "sorry" because really, the entire crux of Cardinal Sins is this poor girl losing his mind. I love Tulip, he's one of my more fun characters. Sucks about the ending to his storyline, I would probably apologise for that. "Sorry for trapping you with fate and making you powerless to the inevitable."

NED NEDERLANDER HEADCANONS BECAUSE THAT ONE REBLOG SPARKED MY BRAIN. (these are all my personal headcanons and it's alright if you don't agree with them, I just like projecting onto silly little guys)

Ned has some form of neurodivergency. I fully believe in autistic Ned.

When nervous, he stims by squeezing his fingers. (I watched him do this in the movie and went "THAT'S WHAT I DO! HE JUST LIKE ME FOR REAL!")

When they were filming the in-movie-universe 'Three Amigos', he constantly complained about the sticky lipstick they had to wear. He liked the eyeliner, though.

IT WAS VERY COMMON FOR LUCKY AND DUSTY TO SING OR HUM TO HIM IF HE GOT OVERWHELMED IN A SITUATION. They'd also let him squeeze their hands if he needed to.

I fully believe Ned is bisexual or at least very comfortable with his sexuality being some form of fluid. (the 'my little buttercup' scene is still fresh in my mind.) This ALSO ties into my headcanon that Lucky is a gay man! Dusty is the token straight guy that's on thin ice.

Ned was shoved into show business when he was young. He doesn't like to think about those days though, particularly the parts with his parents.

He was homeless for awhile as a kid, until he began acting again. (It makes him wanting to start a foundation for homeless kids hit you a lot harder.) here's a cute one, finally-

He LOVES cats. If he were in modern times, he'd be the cat dad that has cat paw socks that match his cat's feets. He adores fluffy cats and those big cats with the big radar dish ears.

Buttercup - Does your OC have any odd quirks/habits?

She's never been diagnosed properly, but she most certainly has ADHD - which causes her to sometimes be constantly moving. She bounces on her heels when excited, wiggles when nervous, and has an "idle animation" where she sways back and forth or swings her arms when standing around. All her pokemon are cat (or cat adjacent), so she'll sometimes comfort herself or even just verbally stim by quietly doing little singsong "nya nya nyas" under her breath.

Winterberry - Use one or more photos that encapsulates your OC’s clothing style.

Well first I should actually put up a picrew picture of her in general so you can see her hair. XD

Aaaaaan now for her style~

She's very bubble/kawaii-goth, with bright pinks and pastel greens, short-shorts, frilly skirts, and baggy shirts. (She also has a furry, neon pink jacket and it's her favorite clothing item in the world.)

Kiyo tends to stim a little like I do, especially when she's either nervous or bored. You'll catch her tapping on things lightly sometimes, including gently tapping with her tail

Speaking of her tail, much like actual lizards, she'll sway it around if she's feeling anxious/threatened. But, she'll also do that when she's happy about something (there is a difference between the two in the way it moves). She also has a tendency to wrap it around herself when she's feeling anxious, but she also uses that as a means of affection to those she's closest to. If you're someone she cares deeply about, be prepared to have a thick tail wrapped around a leg or your waist a lot

While it doesn't happen often, lizard brain instincts will kick in and she'll get a little bitey if she's getting extremely nervous. It's just a weird little way that she grounds herself if she can't wrap her tail around someone
