Hugos design i just wanted to put him in something more Loose. hes a thief, a professional escape artist. i dont think wearing clunky metal is ideal for him. i also gave him a prosthetic arm (blond w no arm design trope!) but u cant see it in the ref so i added another drawing of him in his under layering👍 i vaguely referenced russian(?) clothes for him as well... yong came relatively easy to me, if it wasn't obvious i did rip gaming from g*nshin's hoodie. i thought the lion hood was Adorable and freaking perfect for what i had in mind for hos character. since the og notes said the fire kingdom is loosely Chinese inspired i basically just kept that. i mashed tgt a buncha diff dynasties though sorry for how inconsistent i was... i think he looks Okay. anyways i changed yongs role a bit, ill explain why im adjusting some of their roles later but i kept yong as the Jinx Type character. hes the eldest in his family and has a buncha younger siblings, hes a lion dancer and does performances w his family/siblings. he rly like special effects n keeps tryna incorporate his fireworks into their performances (it flops and he has to sew up the dmg) ill explain more of yongs role in another post maybe shrugs... miss nuru was a bit of a struggle for me i might share my full design process with her coz i did a Bunch of mockups for her😭😭😭... i didnt have a specific country of reference for her but i chose to make her vaguely south asian inspired. i also really wanted to keep the sheer fabric w the star / constellation map. i love that idea its so cute so shes still technically the navigator. but she also wields a sword too, fencing or whatever. (her and varian r Huge Cass fangirls which is probably why she started tryna use a sword (snuck out to watch cass compete) Okay ill talk abt this later) in my head, okay ill Probably make a whole nother post talking abt how im interpreting/writing each chara, but in my head i think nuru is the youngest and her kingdom's archivist. shes mostly in charge of like Her kingdoms history / artifacts / etc. ok im getting too side tracked ill save the lore dump for later but thats Nurus role in the party. uhm below i made their character stats mostly to help me with planning / role developing. the yellow is their base stats the color behind is their end stats i guess. i was gonna explain my reasoning for their stats but ermm this post is kinda Really long so sorry😭... varian max int for obvious reasons, also max charisma just coz i feel like u kinda learn a thing or two being around a couple manipulators and spending time in jail idk shrugs... (also lets not forget the "ud b surprised what ppl would do for a cookie!") Hugo slippery guy, if a brick is thrown at him as hes running hes gonna try n run faster to shatter it, his mindset is Run Run Run! i think hes relatively agile too but yeah mostly a Speedster. i think he n varian got no Physical strength varian maybe just like A little coz Farm boy but I rly doubt quirin is making him do a Lotta heavy lifting. yong has incredible stamina and agility because hed a performer. nuru is the strongest coz this team would literally Flop without a proper Offense😭... i think varian n hugo r able to outwit plenty of their opponents but i think nuru is pretty good in a fight, same w yong. in last life they made food and would eat together. Pearl would sing silly little improvised songs per usual, Scott was more of a gentle humming kinda guy. The humming could put Pearl to sleep very easily, good at taming dogs, I suppose. + Last Life took place during summer. Warm happy summer, bright sunshine coming in through the windows, swimming by the river, tending to crops together, feeding the birds. Fun comfy summer together with who you love most. (this will be important later on.. /silly)

during double life soulmates shared some physical traits, due to mind fuckery done by the watchers tho, they didn't notice these changes on anyone til they found their own soulmate. Scott and Pearl got their hair ends the color of the other. Pearl tried so hard to cut it off, chopping her hair with an axe, but the teal ends only grew upwards on her new ends. In the end she resorted to "dying" it, with stuff like berries, flowers and animal blood... it sorta did the work and made her happy, but ppl also thought he smelled TERRIBLE and it was another reason to not approach him. + Double Life took place in winter, cold cold winter killing crops and freezing stray animals to death, snow storms forming like a dispute between parties, who once loved one another, now falling appart. The love is still there tho, it is and it always will be. To hate with such passion, you have to love first.

in limited life, while they *said* they were okay with one another and acted friendly while in a group environment, they still had some unresolved issues to cope with. Pearl probably looked down at the coral isles, from the frog tower. Yeah their teammates, neighbors and your mother could tell they were still not normal about eachother, but hey petty pranks and odd looks are better than torturing eachother! They still miss being together, but for both their sakes they gotta wait it out more. I can still recall our last summer, I still see it all. + Limited Life took place in autumn (different year). Autumn, where leaves start dying off, falling off trees. All that dead waste... it leaves the trees, it prepares for change. For once spring comes... they'll grow stronger once again :)

in secret life they finally found peace, forgave eachother mutually, better than they could have ever before. My sister, a flower expert (/hj), assigned them daisies, for they represent new beginnings. They finally get to be happy together, and they can be in different alliances! They have a good time when they do see eachother, no petty pranks for no reason. Scott even went out of his way to remind Pearl she didnt say "I love you" to him, to which Pearl immediately goes to apologize and say "I love you Scooott♡ does it still count?", and I swear I can HEAR him smirk as he goes ".. I'll take it..". People focus a lot on the finale I think. Healing is a process, it has ups and downs, of course Pearl is still hurt over double life, but she doesnt hate Scott. It wasnt just Gem who offered Pearl to join them, Scott very much wanted him with them aswell, and I refuse to think it was just out of "fear". He didn't wanna have to be up against Pearl again, theyd allied again, finally, fixed their issues. Just to be forced to fight again. I think they found peace in the end tho, while the Scar stays alive the other dead people stay around as ghosts, having to wait til the watchers get bored and make another season. I think they made up again after the finale. + afterall, Secret Life took place on spring. New life, a colorful flowery view, beautiful fields. All to share with a new bond, a new beginning. The new spring of an old connection. Beautiful and sweet. Similar to the summer they met.

in real life... I have NO platonic explanation for this, im so sorry but theyre literally a married couple. They ADOPTED A KID!! (Cleo, jokingly)("there you go little Cleo" "thanks mum!") I actually think they probably got engaged after the secret life finale, as ghosts, they spent a LONG time there afterall. Winners Void marriage!! Martyn officiated the wedding, Scar was Pearl's best man (theyre siblings to me but thats unrelated), Grian was their witness, I mean he had no option BUT to wintess this so.. also, during that kiss they shared, there was a spark of light in the void, in that deep darkness, the moon and his stars iluminated all around them. Back to the actual season, they can now joke around the old times no problem, they *can* have other alliances, but theyre back to good old. Like Scott said in secret life, "its destiny". Theyre faithed, way past double life, that was just a physical representation of soulmate bonds, but the connections are still real after, and were real before. I see these two bicker during real life and see a married couple, not one that hates eachother, but they tease eachother and roll their eyes at eachothers stupidity at times. They love eachother so much even with their quirks. + Real Life i'd say takes place in summer once again. Years have passed, and they passed them together. They already had something going on in last life but denied it, they were young and unsure. They've matured and are more sure of who they are and what they want. They have fun, once again, like last time.. walks along the seine, laughing in the rain, our last summer, memories that remain♡

My headcannones of each doctor who regenerations prounons (i wrote this at 12:40 pm don't judge me):

1st: any-he never paid much attention to the human concept of gender and prounons. So you can imagine his confusion when people in the 21st century asked him about his preferred prounons. he would simply shrug say he didn't mind

2nd: they/them-when they regenerated they seemed to like it better when their friends and/or enemies would uses they/them so they just kinda ran with it. I can see them doing resurch and finding the prounon fascinating. also they just give off that vibe (its the hair and recorder lol)

3rd: they/them- basicicly fuck gender. 3 is already very politically soooo. they also give me a they/them vibe from their more colourful and regel clothing. Also i can totally see the 3rd doctor saying something like "I have much more dire things to worry about then your petty human obsession with gender and such...that being said they/them works efficiently"

4th: he/they- a mix of not giveing a shit and the fact that they actual like how it sounds. I feel like he still wanted they to be used while referring to them but also liked he so when they found out alot of humans uses both he was like "oh fuck yeah" and jumped on that bandwagon

(Skipping a few cuz I haven't watched all of the doctors sorryyyyy)

8th: she/he/they- its the hair (and the clothes), this is when they dress more flamboyant agian (atleast before the time war). She gets super happy and smilely when people use her other prounons other then "he".

War: any- has got no time for that so they just wings it with what ever ppl call them (but even without the time war he would uses all)

9th: he/him- I would say he/him with a dash of "I don't really mind". Someone might call him they or she and he would just shrug and smile, but his preference would lean on he/ him.

10th: they/he- i feel like as soon as they regenerated and saved the world they looked through a dictionary and went "Oooo they/he sounds good, dont mind if I do". Switching it up this time around

11th: he/him-likes he/him alot and is not sure why, just feels good. Gets giddy when ever river calls him handsome

12th: they/them- this grumpy scotish grandpa useing they/them feels so right to me. 12 was the doctor to confirm that time lords don't follow gender roles so I think its appropriate to give them they/them prounons. Also they rerlized that their regeneration fitted they/them more becues of clara stricticly useing those prounons until she found the time to ask.

13th: all with a preference for she/her- loves how all the prounons sound when referring to her. Does favour how she rolled off the tongue tho but most ppl just uses she/her for them anyways.

It's incredible. NFCV alone feels like a shitty fanfiction, full of those fanfic tropes that would make me close immediately: flanderization, wimpification of "pretty" male characters, thirsting, juvenile wit, spotlight-stealing OCs, gratuituous sex and SA treated with the finesse of a charging hippo. Then you let the fandom fandomify this shitty fanfic even more, and the result is just a disaster, a kiddie pool of the most baffling misconceptions you could see.

Just to make one example, Trevor in the games is a noble but ruthless hunter, both friendly and fierce, fighting for mankind yet wanting respect yet gladly giving credit to his friends; in the show, he's a washed out Bojack Horseman-esque asshole, who despite his cynicism admittedly attempts to do the right thing when push comes to shove; and according to fandom he's pretty much a funny penis man with two braincells, Sypha and Alucard. the scene where he punches Dracula and he goes "you must be the Belmont" became a meme for a reason :^)

And yeah you're right that the fandom doesn't seem to. like the Belmonts much. But then again, they're acting like the show wants them to :) The writing doesn't take Trevor's alcoholism seriously, so they don't, alcoholism is a funny joke that makes people silly and just a tad pathetic (and it's not a serious addiction and symptom of larger problems no sir). Richter is a goofball who cries in a corny way, so it's easy to laugh at him - and that's when fans don't say that Julia deserved to die for being a "colonizer". Lenore is sexualized to hell and back, so the fans thirst for her and they think that Hector must thirst for her too, and look, wasn't her death so prettly tragic, maybe she was a good person after all!

The way fandoms treat girl characters nowadays is... barely an improvement over the 2000s when Amy would be called a slut for having a backless dress. Now it's all about how stronk and kewl and queens and girlbosses they are. And you can't criticize the writing of a female character because "just say you hate women 🙄", even when the said character is a female victim of abuse who was written by a molester as a smug radfem whose personality never goes beyond "i want to steal from men because men bad" *coughcoughcough*

The show itself is regressive when it comes to its female characters. They're all the damn same. They're either spunky sassy gals who put their men in their place, or evil but hot dommy mommies (Striga and Morana don't fit the mold because they're not characters). Most of them are magic users, even those who in the games were normal women. I will forever stand by my point that Annette did not need to be a metal bender, and if the writers truly cared, they could have fleshed out the skeleton provided by RoB. But they didn't. i was sososo excited for the manga when it was announced, and now that i read it im kinda like. Hm. the art style is gorgeous, but 100% agreed on the way they depicted the characters in the real world because they look so young 😭 like wtf aubrey is supposed to look intimidating when the player first meets her [as a stark contrast to her headspace personality] but then she lirerally looks 12 (like you said) 💀 also this might just be a me thing but i always imagined that sunny would be very expressionless in the real world until the end of the game, like how he has the neutral sprite the entire time until he finally looks scared in the basil fight & cries in the hidden ending cutscene. but the sunny in the manga feels so grounded and human (which might sound like an insane thing to say but hear me out), which i feel kinda undermines the fact that he's disassociating like 99% of the time and also has not been outside + talked to ppl in literal years. it deadass looks like him and kel going out is a regular occurrence for him 🕴

So well I finished rdr2 and I wanna say I enjoyed the hell out of the game genuinely. I didn't think I'd cry as the game was coming to an end but I did I miss Arthur a lot I felt so much pain that he died the way he did. I mean I got the "true" ending but still. Idk it made me sad how much he felt like he fucked up a lot so he was trying to make amends as best as possible. I was playing "honourably" the whole game I didn't want to be a killing maniac cause I thought there was enough of those irl and in game. (Also seeing the King's son die b/c Dutch was a fucking coward that made me want to put a bullet thru Dutch's head after that. Genuinely had me crying as well b/c Dutch used their ppl for his own gain. He constantly said "we'll get rich" but he was willing to leave behind the ppl that helped him. I kinda didn't understand it.)

And as Arthur rode back to camp I was cursing Dutch's name and I was feeling so much of Arthur's pain. Loyalty was all he had but Dutch wanted his mind too. I miss Hosea and Lenny they didn't need to die. Rest in peace u fictional fucks I loved y'all fr. I also was hurt to find out Pearson and Uncle had dipped but they had the right idea . But yeah Arthur was able to die proud of himself as knowing that John and his family would be ok. Honestly the thing that I didn't like is again ... how long the game is ... I just hated the idea that u can still go out to hunt Micah down.... it just felt "unnecessary" don't get me wrong i absolutely hated Micah I would spit on that nigga irl but I just wanted everyone to have their fresh start. And honestly killing Micah I don't get why Dutch wasn't as well.. like Dutch was just as an issue as anyone else and it lowkey pissed me off how much they dragged the death of Micah just for him to get randomly shot by Dutch.

Especially the racist being killed FINALLY but dragging out the death so much. I don't understand why Hollywood or "media" does that so much lol. But the death of Micah's racist ass was so dragged out. It was very annoying but whatever I digress I enjoyed the game for what it was. 8-9/10 for sure

Quick preface: i am being legit 100% genuine and just kind wanted to put my thoughts out there. This is not like me trying to call you out or be mad at you specifically or anything like that. I just like saw one of your posts and it kinda touched a nerve, in a way that felt like you definitely didnt intend for it sound or be like, and i wanted to like idk engage civilly and talk about like word choice and semantics lol. Thats also why im like sending this via ask and not a comment or reblog of the post, so like you have the choice whether you wanna engage with it publicly or privately or not at all.

So like in the post youre talking about how in the 7x10 BuckTommy scene that tommy’s sarcastic humor doesn’t land. And like and that’s literally totally fine. But its also like your opinion. Just like my opinion that it does land and that they do have chemistry yk? Its just like :/ when people (not just you like as a greater trend in the fandom discourse) state their opinion as fact when it is an opinion.

And like, to get all evidencery, i would say that Buck reacts to the sarcastic jokes by smiling and laughing and reciprocating the humor, which tells us that at the very least he likes it, or/and that the writers intended for it to be read that way. But thats still just my opinion of my interpretation of the scene.

The other big thing that made me kind :/ was when you wrote

(and again not saying youre like a bad person for writing this or anything like that, just being a nerd that likes talking about linguistics and semantics and how people communicate and wanting to do that better)

So like i know its just how ppl talk, but again its saying that its a “fact” when it is your interpretation. One that i like whole heartedly disagree with. ESPECIALLY in regard to the “daddy kink” scene. Like as a bisexual man who very much is into kink, talking about kinks with new partners is Incredibly intimidating and intimate and vulnerable and difficult. And yeah, we often talk about it using humor because especially when its connected to traumas its often easier to talk about it with a lighter air. But that doesnt take away from the seriousness or intimacy of whats being discussed. When i watched that scene if felt like really genuine and legitimately representational of what its like trying to feel out how your partner feels about kinks, and especially the fact that buck is the one to start it by asking tommy if they both have daddy issues, masking his nerves with a flirty jokey tone, it was so real and great to see.

And i get it, not everyone has the same relationship with kink or queer subtextual flirting, but that kinda the point. Scenes hit different for different people, ships hit different, and thats fine, thats how it works. I dont expect everyone to get like teary eyed over a daddy kink joke or absolutely love BuckxTommy, but i do wish people remembered more that other people have different experiences and connections to stuff like this. Like sure i ship buddie, but im 1000 time more excited by the fact that Buck is a fucking canonical bisexual character. Would buddie be cool, hell yeah! Would i love to see Eddie figure out hes like gay and deconstruct his comphet HELL YEAH. But rn bucks the one thats actually queer, and hes getting his queer storyline and im fucking excited for that! And them bringing Tommy back, whos entire character gets a whole other level of gay angst with the context that he was deeply closeted in the flashbacks we saw him in before, like i love that to!

And again i very much do not think you are like willfully or wantonly trying to do anything bad, nor am i trying to tell you how to engage in fandom or how to talk. I just wanna like share my thoughts and feelings about fandom discourse and communication. (also like very chose to send to you cause i like your posts and think youre chill lol)

(Also also not trying to be like the word police, just a hey btw: lots of queer guys in the fandom myself included are p uncomfortable with ppl using “bummy” as a shipname. Its like a lil to close to the like “bum boy” slur and just yeah feels 😬)

i think talking about kinks in a new relationship is basically essential so that wasn’t my problem. it’s about the context. if the conversation had been in a kind of flirty, sexually charged scene it would’ve been completely fine. it’s that he chose to make the joke when buck was having an emotional moment about bobby almost dying. like if it was him being a little awkward and trying to lighten the mood and he kinda went “sorry i didn’t know what to say so i tried to make you laugh,” i would’ve found it cuter but because the scene takes itself seriously it feels like such an out of place reaction. and he starts out with “but your dad’s alive.” i don’t understand the writers’ intention there because it comes off as dismissive since he just moves past that when he had a great opportunity to have a conversation about buck’s feelings towards his parents. overall my feelings have nothing to do with the joke itself and if they had put it anywhere else it would’ve had more appeal. you say people have different experiences when talking about kink but honestly who wants to be pivoted into that conversation after they’ve just decided to be open and vulnerable with their partner about something as serious as death and parental issues? it would’ve been nice to have tommy comforting and reassuring buck, maybe expanding on the story of his own parental issues like the scene alluded to. that would’ve made it clear that yes this man takes the situation seriously and genuinely cares about buck without a doubt. and besides the two scenes i mentioned from 7x04 and 7x05 tommy spends most of his screen time killing buck’s vibe. the closet joke which was funny in the moment but would’ve outed buck if eddie wasn’t the most oblivious person on the planet, leaves buck on the sidewalk because he “wasn’t ready” (why even date a newly discovered and not out bisexual man?), doesn’t dress up and dismisses buck being upset, getting their medals and telling buck to “enjoy it while it lasts” when he was excited. besides the hospital kiss what other close and intimate moments are there?

and in regards to the ship name i got it from other queer people and i use it because shippers come into my inbox complaining i’m in the official ship tag spreading hate and it was the first ship name people came up with.
