Cute hospital date shenanigans for the boys, and a brief shovel talk from Robin. đ
Part 1, part 1.5, part 2, part 3, part 4, part 5, part 6, part 7, part 8, part 9 of the love spell no go au
They do have their hospital cafeteria date a few weeks later, and the food is as terrible as Steve promised. Or it looks terrible, anyway; Eddie sticks to jello. Eventually Steve gives up on the saddest attempt at a club sandwich either of them has ever seen (and Eddie has been privy to Wayneâs half-hearted bachelor attempts in the kitchen for years), gets back in line, and comes back with a tray full to capacity with more jello cups.Â
They attempt to treat them like jello shots until Eddie nearly busts a stitch laughing. Not quite, but It still hurts, and Steve keeps falling all over himself apologizing for the next half hour, but Eddie genuinely doesnât care. It feels like he hasnât been able to laugh like that in years, and before heâd grabbed his side and said âOwâ he thinks Steve looked more carefree than heâd seen him in⌠possibly ever. The existence of Upside Down had been weighing on him for years, and even though Eddie hadnât known at the time he can tell that Steve holds himself differently now that itâs gone. In just the time Eddie has been awake, the dark smudges under his eyes have gotten lighter, less severe.Â
And, Robin tells him one of the rare occasions Steve isnât at his bedside, the obsessive jogging and workout sessions have tapered off.Â
âThank god,â Eddie groans, leaning theatrically back into his pillows as if in a swoon. âI donât think my delicate constitution could handle it if he ever asked me to go for a run with him.â But really, heâs relieved that Steve isnât pushing himself so hard, running himself ragged to prepare for a threat that has finally been put down for good.Â
Robin snorts. âYeah, I think we can safely rule out that happening. He pestered Dustin into helping him find books on physical therapy at the library though, so Iâm pretty sure youâre still in for it.â
â⌠Okay, that sounds ominous.â
âDoesnât it just.â She leans forward, eyes narrowing slightly. âThe dingus is very invested in making sure you heal up as best you can, and I think you know what happens when he sets his mind to something. Youâre going to get well to within an inch of your life, mister, and if you ever bitch enough to make him truly upset or feel unwanted in any way, I will destroy your fretting hand. Got it?â
Eddie swallows hard. âLoud and clear, Bucks.â
âGood!â Robin sits back, switching easily from deeply threatening to relaxed and smirking. âNow that thatâs out of the way, I can tease you for being just as much of a romantic as he is. A love spell, really?â
Thatâs when Steve returns from the bathroom, overhears, and groans. âRob, I hadnât told him I told you yet! Youâre making me look like a jackassâŚâ
âNo no, I knew what I was getting into with you two,â Eddie says, recovering from the threat Steve had missed and flashing him a grinâbecause he does. Even before he was clued in on all the monster hunting stuff, heâs seen how close Steve and Robin have become since last summer. It makes even more sense now that he knows about the Russians (and that as a lesbian and a bisexual dude theyâd bonded over a shared appreciation of boobies) but he already knew they tell each other everything and support each other relentlessly, even if itâs something dumb. Maybe especially if itâs something dumb.Â
And then he turns back to Robin with a gleam in his eye.Â
âBy the way, Bucks, you might want to get used to the door swinging both ways, because I heard about the time you screwed up the laundry and crawled in his window before dawn on a school day looking like a pink marshmallow peep trying to steal some of his clothes.â
Robin whips her head around towards Steve. âYou swore you wouldnât tell anyone about that!â
âWhy are both of you doing this to me?â Steve asks with a pout. âWhat did I do?â
âYouâre a gossip, sweetheart,â Eddie tells him with a grin. âBut we both still love you, donât worry. Here, you want my pudding cup?â
âI thought that was the only part of the shitty hospital meals you actually like,â Steve protests, but gamely comes over (via the side of the bed opposite of Robin, who sticks her tongue out at him) and settles himself carefully on the edge of the bed at Eddieâs side.Â
âThe meatloaf is marginally more edible than whatever that chicken casserole thing they usually serve. But we can share,â Eddie offers, and takes Steveâs pleased hum as his answer.
âYou guys are going to give me a toothache,â Robin grumbles.Â
Steve lifts his head a little. âShit, that reminds me. Help me remember later to call the dentist?â Heâs looking at Robin, but quickly redirects his attention as soon as Eddie nudges the pudding spoon against his lips.Â
âOh? What happened to Mr. Oh So Superior, âI never have to go to the dentist Robs, that whole summer eating ice cream and not one single cavityâ?â
At the word âcavity,â a tiny landslide of memory is triggered in the back of Eddieâs head and he clears his throat sheepishly. âUh, that mightâve been me, actually. The not getting cavities after Scoops, and the, um, getting them again now.â
Steve pauses with his mouth full of a second spoonful, little traces of chocolate on his lips that Eddie is valiantly resisting licking right now. His âMm-hmm?â sounds like itâs maybe meant to be a âReally?â
So Eddie explains some of his panicked spellcasting while Steve was missing beneath the mall. Steve and Robin keep exchanging these looksââWas it to protect teeth or nails, Munson? Which one?â âYeah, because I almost got a nail pulled off with Russian pliers, so maybe it was bothâ is a series of sentences that will haunt him for a long timeâand by the time itâs over heâs promised to recast that spell for the entire Party. He declines to mention itâll probably be a while before he has the energy for that and will leave him with a monster headache whenever he does, because they just saved the fucking world. And yeah, the government is flat out paying them not to tell anyone about it this time along with the usual NDAs, but they definitely deserve to exist free of dental expenses for the rest of their lives.Â
Also by the end of the conversation, Steve has absentmindedly finished off the pudding. Eddie doesnât even mind, just chuckles and kisses Steveâs nose when he tries to apologize, because heâd wanted his boy to have it anyway.Â

Stranger Therapy - part 2!
Eddie Munson x Steve Harrington
Summary: Based on this text post, Steve and Eddie match on Tinder and decide to go to couple's counseling on a first date to see how long it takes the therapist (Murray) to figure them out. Chapter 1, Link to Ao3
Word Count: 3k again!
Warnings: This one has a moment of actual therapy lmao, nothing TOO serious but Eddie has low self-esteem and Steve is closed off, modern day AU, aged up, brief Robin cameo, Matchmaker Murray.
A/N: OMG I was NOT expecting such a big reaction to part 1!! Here is the much requested part two, and I plan to continue for probably another two or three chapters. Thanks to all who have read so far!! PS I really did look into the counselor code of ethics for this one lmao
âSo, howâd it go?â Robin asked once Steve got home.Â
He had no idea how to answer that question.Â
âIt wasâŚâ He wandered to the fridge to grab a drink, wondering how much of the experience he should share with Robin. Generally, they told each other everything, but wasnât therapy usually a private thing? So it wouldnât be too terribly weird to not tell her, right? âDid you know he went to Hawkins High with us?â
âHe did?â she asked, just as confused as Steve had been. âLike, at the same time we were there?â
âYup. Eddie Munson ring a bell?â Robin thought about the name for a second before her eyes widened.Â
âOh my god! Yes I remember him!â She laughed, then continued once sheâd settled down. âOkay, yeah. Heâs definitely the kind of person who would want to do the first date fake coupleâs counseling thing. He was always a littleâŚoutside of the box.â
âCome on,â Steve replied. âYou say the meanest shit to me, and the best you can come up with for Eddie is that heâs âoutside of the box?â Robin, heâs never even seen the box.â She laughed again.
âOkay, sure,â she agreed. âIâm guessing it didnât turn out to be a good match?â
Steve hesitated again, because no, that wasnât it. He wasnât sure if they were a good match, honestly. He ran through the events of the day in his head, then realized just how batshit insane it all was. And Steve had agreed to it.Â
And he didnât even regret it.Â
He imagined telling Robin, and her relentlessly teasing him about it like she always did. This would give her enough ammunition to last a lifetime. It probably would be even worse than the fateful day at the mall when Steve had accidentally ripped his pants while attempting to hit on a girl. Robin had a front row seat for that one, and she still brought it up.Â
Steve agreeing to go to therapy with an actual stranger, pretending to date said stranger, and working on actual personal issues together? Yeah, no. Steve was gonna take this shit to the grave.
Except, he wouldnât, would he? Because he had an accomplice. They also werenât strangers, not really, but they were still acquaintances, at best. An acquaintance that Steve had intermittently thought about kissing ever since Eddie mentioned it with Dr. Bauman.Â
Ohhh, this is bad I think.
âEarth to Steve,â Robin said, interrupting his thought spiral. âAre you going to see him again or not?â
âWeâre gonna get coffee next week,â Steve lied. He never lied to Robin, and he felt immediately horrible about it, but he couldnât tell her, right?Â
He almost broke and told her the honest truth, because sitting with the lie was so uncomfortable. Instead, he told himself that if he actually got coffee with Eddie next week, then he wouldnât be lying. Loophole!
âOh,â she said, surprised. âI really didnât expect anything to come from this.â
âYeah, well heâs -â Steve tried to think of what exactly it was about Eddie that was so enticing. He was hot, obviously. Charismatic. He was able to take Steve off guard, and they rolled with each otherâs bullshit pretty smoothly. It was strange how connected he felt to Eddie in the session. Like they really were in tune with each other. Like they were an actual couple. âHeâs cool. We had fun.â
âI know youâre not telling me something,â Robin said, eyeing him suspiciously. âBut I guess itâs not my business. Plus, confidentiality and all that.â
Unlike Steve, Robin had been to therapy before. She had always told Steve he should go, too, but he never had.Â
Until now, of course. But first, he had to cover his bases.Â
-
Steve: Do you wanna get coffee before our appointment?
Eddie: Sure, gives us a chance to get our stories straight
Eddie: Hold on let me make the joke before you do
Steve: ?
Eddie: About our stories being gay and not straight!!
Steve: I wasnât gonna make that lame-ass joke
Eddie: Sure you werenât
Steve: And if I was, my delivery would have been way better
Eddie: oh shit
Eddie: Steveâs biting back today ;)
Steve: Well I gotta keep up with you, donât I?
Eddie: Mmm i see how it is. Noon work for coffee?
Steve: Iâll be there
-
Eddie had recently been told by a close friend that he needed to get his shit together. The coupleâs counseling wasnât a whole master plan on Eddieâs part - he really did think it sounded fun, and it was - but the thought of talking out some of his issues was appealing, and he couldnât stop thinking about it.Â
This close friend of Eddieâs - the one who suggested Eddie had an attitude problem and low self-esteem - had mentioned Dr. Bauman a few times in the past. He apparently worked wonders on couples, even the ones who argued all the time. His success rate was remarkable.Â
Thinking back on it, maybe Eddie did kind of want to do coupleâs counseling with Steve and Dr. Bauman for a reason.Â
Like, come on. There was a spark there, right? There was something, at least. Who else would have gone along with Eddieâs crazy this much? Steve understood Eddie, and while he kept calling this whole thing âinsane,â it didnât stop him from agreeing to it. Because there was something there between them.Â
But mainly, Eddie just wanted to see a therapist, he didnât really want to do it alone, and for whatever reason Steve seemed like the right person to be there.Â
Okay, yeah. Steveâs right. This is insane.Â
-
The cafe down the street from Murrayâs office was small and cozy, and had fancy syrups for the coffee that Steve secretly loved. He came here sometimes, under the guise that he was getting a strawberries and cream oat milk latte for Robin, even though literally none of the workers cared.Â
âYour usual?â the barista asked when Steve and Eddie got in line. Steve tried not to notice Eddieâs amused expression and the way his eyebrows were raised expectantly, desperate to know what Steve ordered so often the workers had it memorized.Â
âUhhhhâŚâ Steve wasnât sure why he was blushing. He never cared much about being seen as masculine, and he was literally going to therapy with this guy, so things were about to get a lot more embarrassing than a coffee order. He looked at Eddie. âDonât judge me, itâs delicious.â Eddie laughed.Â
âI donât give a shit,â he said. âWhatever it is, own it.â Steve turned to the barista.
âYes, the usual,â he told her.Â
âIâll get the same thing,â Eddie chimed in. Steve felt a flutter of something in his chest, somewhere between anxiety and flattery.Â
They got their drinks and sat down. Steve took a sip and tried not to show on his face how happy this stupid beverage made him. It was a simple joy, you know?
âOkay, so you wanted to come up with some kind of game plan, right?â Steve asked as he waited for the caffeine to hit.Â
âYeah, I mean -â Eddie shifted in his seat uncomfortably. What the hell is he nervous about, Steve wondered. âIf Murray figures us out now, heâll drop us. So we have to be a bit more convincing.â
âHow are we supposed to be more convincing? Do you want us to start making out on the couch or something?â Steve suggested it as if he wouldnât be extremely happy to do so.Â
âIf it comes down to it,â Eddie teased back. Steve blushed once again. He was so much better at flirting than he was being flirted with. âMy favorite color is black or red, depending on the day. I still mostly eat canned foods and TV dinners because I never figured out the whole meal prep thing, but it works out fine because my favorite food is mac and cheese. I play a lot of video games and I have a Dungeons and Dragons group. Iâm kind of amazing at the guitar -â
âWhat are you doing?â Steve asked, not getting it. Eddie sighed.
âIâm telling you about myself, what do you think Iâm doing?â He shook his head and chuckled. âSo you have context, or whatever. So weâre not just making shit up.â
âOh, okay,â Steve responded. âWhat about your family?â
âYeah, weâre not gonna touch that subject with a ten foot pole,â Eddie muttered. âYour turn.â
âFair enough. Okay, well my favorite color is blue, I guess. I live with my best friend Robin. IâŚIâm not really good at this.â Steve took another sip of his drink and wondered why he couldnât come up with more facts about himself.Â
âCollege?â Eddie asked. Steve shook his head. âMe neither. Do you like music?â
âYeah,â Steve answered. âI took piano lessons for a while and then I taught myself the rest.â
âImpressive,â Eddie noted. âDo we ever play music together?â
âI guess we could,â Steve said with a shrug. It was fun, coming up with a backstory like that. âArenât you going to drink your coffee?â
âOh Jesus, no. Itâs got way too much sugar for my taste.â
âThen why did you get one?â Eddie smiled.
âBecause now -â Eddie slid his cup across the table until it was directly next to Steveâs. â-you have one for later.â Steve stared down at both cups, perplexed.Â
âThat isâŚlike, incredibly sweet,â he said.
âJust like that abomination you call coffee,â Eddie replied.
-
After intake, Dr. Murray Bauman examined the counseling code of ethics, and unsurprisingly there was nothing in there saying it was unethical to continue treating a couple who were lying about being a couple. He didnât have proof they were pretending, of course, but clients lied to therapists all the time. If they showed up for their appointment, Murray was going to counsel them. That was his job. Truly, it would have been unethical not to work with them.Â
They did show up, and they were right on time. Immediately, Murray noticed something was different. They were more comfortable with each other, and Steve in particular looked much less terrified.Â
âSo,â Murray began, âtell me how your week has been.â
âItâs been good,â Eddie answered. âYou really helped us out a lot.â
For a fleeting moment, Murray believed him. He thought that maybe his instinct had been wrong, and they actually were a couple, and theyâd somehow managed to get over Steveâs affair in a matter of forty minutes.Â
But it was only a moment. Murray was a great counselor, but nobody was that good. His suspicions were confirmed when Steve opened his mouth.Â
âWe actually think our relationship is solid, and we kinda just want to focus on our own individual issues,â he said.Â
It was far too polished of a statement for it to have not been planned. Which meant one thing - Steve and Eddie were just looking for individual therapy, and were going at the same time forâŚemotional support? Cost-effectiveness?Â
Murray nodded. This was all a first for him, and he loved uncharted waters.Â
âOkay, what would you like to focus on first?â he asked.Â
âIâll go,â Eddie offered. âSo, I have this friend that says I have self-esteem issues, but it doesnât really make sense to me because I feel like Iâm pretty confident. Like, I havenât really mastered how to be a grown-up or anything, and Iâm kind of a mess sometimes, but itâs all part of my charm, you know? Iâve always been a little crazy, but I also think Iâm awesome, soâŚâÂ
âIf you think youâre awesome, why does someone elseâs opinion matter?â Murray asked.Â
âI dunno, arenât you the one who has the answers?â Eddie asked. âJust skip to the part where you tell me whatâs wrong with me.â
âWell, thatâs not usually how this works,â Murray began, âbut I think I do see whatâs going on.â
âEnlighten me,â Eddie said.Â
âYou just said you were confident but called yourself a mess and a little crazy in the same breath,â Murray replied. âYou can exude confidence all you want, but it doesnât mean you actually believe those things about yourself. Steve, what do you think about this?â
âUhhh -â Steve looked absolutely unequipped to answer the proposed question. âI think Eddie knows how hot and charming he is, actually. I donât think itâs bullshit.â
âI didnât say it was bullshit,â Murray countered, noticing that this time Eddie was the one to blush. âBut there is a difference between ego and self-esteem. Itâs not just about confidence, itâs about self-respect and worth. Eddie, do you feel valuable?â
âLike, in this relationship?â Eddie asked.Â
âNo, in this world.âÂ
This question stopped Eddie dead in his tracks. His face went pale, and he became visibly nervous at the prospect of being so vulnerable.Â
âFuck,â Eddie said at last. âI mean, uh - not really, but it's not personal, I don't think. Just feels like we're all specks of dust on a rock, you know?"
There was another shift in the room, but Murray couldnât pinpoint exactly what.Â
âCan you tell me a bit about how you grew up?â he wondered. Family history was a standard line of questioning in these early sessions. Eddie froze.
âActually, I really wanna focus on my thing now, if thatâs okay,â Steve interrupted. Eddie seemed relieved to pass the torch, so Murray went with it.Â
âOf course. Whatâs going on with you, Steve?â
âUhh, well, I - um -â he sputtered, his leg bouncing rapidly. âI keep having this nightmare - like, every night - where thereâs a monster in my closet. What do you think that means?â
âWell,â Murray said, leaning back in his chair. âDream psychology isnât really my specialty -â
âOkay, but I reeeeally wanna talk about it,â Steve persisted. "Like, is the monster a metaphor about my sexuality or is it supposed to be my dad? Help me out here."
While Steve babbled about his obviously made up dream, Murray caught Eddie staring at the man beside him. There was a completely unmistakable twinkle in Eddie's eye that told Murray everything he needed to know. Whether these boys knew it or not, they cared about each other.Â
âAs you wish,â Murray conceded. They used the rest of their time focusing on much less heavy subjects, and it was pretty clear that was intentional. He understood, though, that it was important not to take these things too fast. Before long, the color returned to Eddieâs face, and the boys were riffing off each other again flawlessly.Â
This was getting more and more interesting by the minute.Â
-
âThings were intense for a bit in there,â Eddie said as they walked back to the parking lot.
âYeah,â Steve agreed. âYou okay?â
âMâgood,â Eddie replied. âYour dream thing. Was that real?â
âUh, no. I just thought you needed a break.â
âOh,â he said. âNormally Iâd give you a spirited monologue about how you donât know me and therefore shouldnât make my decisions for me.â
âWhat are you gonna say instead?â Steve asked.Â
âWell, considering youâre technically paying for this, I donât really have a leg to stand on,â Eddie chuckled. âAnd also, as weird as this whole thing is, Iâm glad you were in there with me.â He tried to play it off as a lot more casual of a statement than it was.Â
Being in therapy together and actually taking it seriously was an incredibly intimate thing. Steve wasnât sure he could actually be as open as Eddie had been.Â
âI think weâre skipping a whole lot of steps, here,â Steve said, attempting to return Eddieâs light tone.Â
âYeah, well Iâve always hated steps,â Eddie replied. âI tend to trip over âem.âÂ
âRight.â Steve chuckled. âSoâŚsame time next week?â Eddie flashed a genuine smile and nodded.Â
âYeah,â he agreed. âOh, but next time - youâre in the hot seat. No fake dreams, Iâm talking real shit, okay?â
âOh, youâre making demands, now?â Steve asked, amused. âWhat happened to you not having a leg to stand on?â
âHuh,â Eddie responded, pondering this for a moment. He shrugged. âI guess I can fly.âÂ
Steve had no intention of actually diving into real shit, especially after heâd seen the way Murray dug into Eddie during the session. Steve wasnât ready to confront anything. He refused to admit there was anything to confront in the first place. But he would go - of course heâd go, because something deep within him told him heâd regret it if he didnât.
Steve and Eddie werenât a couple. They werenât strangers. They werenât friends. But damn, they were something.

Chapter Four | Masterlist
Waking up beside Spencer is an absolute blessing, he is the most tender and loving man in the whole world and sheâs never going to get enough of him. He snuggles so tight, he holds her just right and heâs just big enough that she fits against him like sheâs always supposed to have been there.
Her alarm goes off at 10:30 and he doesnât even budge, she struggles to get out of his grasp to turn it off before he just pulls her right back in.
âI could get used to this,â she cooâs as she relaxes back into his embrace.
He kisses the back of her neck and one of his hands cups her breast. He runs his nose along her skin as he takes it all in, âI can come back every night.â
âOkay,â she smiles at the thought. âAre you coming with me to Brookfield today?â
He hums, âI have something to pick up first but Iâll be back to pick you up.â
âDo you want to meet Craig?â She asks nervously, knowing he knows.
âIâm not sure,â heâs honest. âItâs weird thinking heâs slept with you and he has a thing for my mother.â
âAs weird as it was, I donât regret it, he was really lonely after Patsy died and hadnât slept with anyone in years,â she explains it again to him, itâs easier than the first time.
âIâm not judging you,â he whispers before kissing her again.
âI know,â she rolls over while still in his grip, pressing her chest against his and kissing him quickly before remembering her own rule, âpretend itâs still dark out.â
He laughs, âwas he at least good to you?â
âAre you really asking me if the old man I fucked was good in bed?â She rolls her eyes with a laugh, âit was fine, I was used to just laying there and taking it back then.â
âIâm sorry,â he apologizes for her past experiences knowing he can change them and that she's content with them, âcan I make it up to you?â
âIt's not my birthday,â she teases him once more.
âThen why are you in your birthday suit?â He kisses her neck as her back arches, giving him the access to do whatever he pleased.
This was her favourite part of sleeping with him, he was handsy and he kissed everywhere. He was so tentative, he was gentile and sensual and she loved him. The way he kissed her body, his hands on her back as she arched, grinding against him as his leg slipped between hers.
âDaddy?â Sheâs already breathless as she anticipates whatever heâs going to do to her.
He hums, âwhat baby?â
âCan we try something?â She looks at him with puppy dog eyes, wanting more of him and knowing exactly how to get it.
âWhat?â He looks from her eyes to her lips and back.
She smirks, âlay back?â
He does as she asks and she makes a quick move to straddle him, reverse cowgirl, and it makes him gasp. He hooks his arms under her legs and pulls her hips towards his face as she grips his cock at the base.
Sheâs never done this before, excited to finally experience her two favourite things at once, with her favourite person. Taking him in one go down her throat as far as she can, he moans against her thigh as he works his way towards her dripping core.
He pulls her in closer, burying his tongue inside of her as she swirls her tongue around the head of his cock, stroking what doesnât fit in her mouth. She moans around him as he sucks her clit into his mouth. When he slides a finger into her, she gasps as she runs her tongue along the shaft, âmore please, daddy?â
He adds a second finger and curls it with each thrust, she strokes him in time with his fingers rubbing her tongue on the slit, pushing him closer and closer and closer until heâs moaning into her cunt as he finger fucks her relentlessly.
She cums on his face with a quake, her whole body shaking as she sucks one of his balls into her mouth and keeps jerking him. He cums over her hand then, finally releasing her clit from his mouth, they both sigh as they come down from their highs.
She rolls off him, feet on her pillow and hand cupping her own breast as she tries to catch her breath, âyeah, I can get used to waking up next to you.â
â
âBullshit!â
Y/N reaches for the apparent 3 4âs that Craig dropped in the pile, filling them to see he was indeed truthful and handing them to Diana. âYouâre slacking today.â
âI do so much better when I donât know who he is,â Diana smirks as she takes the cards.
âSpeaking of,â she smiles to herself as she looks through her own cards, âyour son, Spencer, is coming to see you today.â
âHow do you know that?â
âI might be dating Spencer,â she scrunches her face in anticipation of her reaction.
âReally?â
She nods, a smile building on her face as she starts to feel a bit flustered, âyeah, I met him last year and weâve been friends for a while but itâs getting serious, so I thought Iâd tell you.â
Sheâs quiet as she thinks about it and Y/Nâs anxiety goes to full blast, âIâm so sorry.â
âWhy?â Diana asks.
âFor not telling you and pretending I donât know him,â she's quick with her response. âHe knows we know each other from your notes but we didnât talk about it until last night, I feel so bad keeping that from you but I've known him the whole time.â
âI was going to introduce you to each other in the hopes you would take care of him, youâre wonderful and he needs someone who he doesnât have to look after. Iâve thought you would be good for him for quite a while actually,â Diana compliments her with a smile. âTry calling bullshit on that.â
It makes her laugh, leaning over into Dianaâs space as she wrapped her arms around Y/N, âwell as good as I am to him, heâs even better to me.â
Holding Diana was nice, she missed her moms so much that it was a good substitute until she saw her own again.
âHow did you meet?â
Y/N pulls back with a stutter, âuh, well we met online actually and he took me to dinner and we got to talking and weâve been really good friends for a while, he uh, heâs the reason Iâm getting my book published.â
âReally?â She blinks a few times the way Spencer does when he tries to absorb information.
She wasnât dumb, she knew her son had money and he was a lot older than her and that meeting on the internet isnât as innocent as it sounds.
âHeâs my best friend.â
She smiles again, âthatâs the key to a successful relationship.â
Craig was quiet the whole time, staring at his cards and drinking his water while they talked. âFor what itâs worth,â he adds, âI think heâs lucky to have you, youâre a good woman.â
Y/Nâs so busy looking at Craig with a smile that she doesnât notice Spencer walk-in or the way Diana gleams at him. He walks up behind her and rests his chin on her shoulder, âHey, pretty woman.â
She jumps slightly before laughing, he wraps his arms around her and kisses her cheek quickly, âhey mom,â he makes his way from Y/N to Diana.
Hugging her quickly before coming to sit beside Y/N again, he notices Craig too and waves, ânice to meet you as well, sir.â
She analyzes his face as he looks at Craig, worried that heâs going to go full alpha male and start a fight or something crazy like her old boyfriends would. But he smiles and heâs calm, he holds her hand and they play another few rounds of cards and it's like theyâve all been friends for years.
Visiting hours are about to come to an end when Spencer finally brings it up, âhow would you feel if I moved to LA for a little while?â
Sheâs really confused, âare you getting a transfer at work?â
âNo, Y/N has a job offer and Iâd like to go with her,â heâs honest with his mom, itâs easier than with anyone else. âIâll travel here whenever you need me, and once a week just to say hello.â
âOr I can finally go back to Vegas,â she says it like sheâs been thinking about it for a while. âI miss my friends and my sister, Spencer.â
âAnd Iâm thinking about moving there as well so my pneumonia isnât as bad this winter,â Craig adds, sitting closer to Diana than before and taking her hand.
Spencer looks very uncomfortable and Y/N can feel it radiating off him, âmy moms are also in Vegas, it would be nice for all of you to be close.â
âI think that would be nice,â Spencer agrees, âand then we can just take a short trip to Vegas once a week to visit with you.â
âThat would be lovely,â Diana smiles, âeven on my bad days I donât forget who Craig is to me, I know heâs my best friend in here and Iâm really glad youâre comfortable with this.â
Spencer smiles, itâs awkward for him to know everything that he knows, and by the way Craig looks at him, he knows Spencer knows.
âPlease, just take care of her,â is all Spencer has to say to him. âIâve already been to prison once.â
âSpencer,â Diana scolds him while trying not to laugh at the absurdity.
âIâm kidding,â he smiles, âIâm happy that youâre happy.â
âItâs only taken us 30 years,â she reaches out a hand for Spencers, âbut we did it.â
Itâs a beautiful moment that Y/N gets to witness, she holds a hand to her heart as Spencer wraps his arms around his mom. She was doing amazing, she was happy and even happier that Spencer was happy.
âWe did it,â Spencer agrees, holding her close, always a mamaâs boy at heart.
â
They stop at his apartment on the way home, he needed some things for the next 2 days and his suitcase for this weekend. His apartment was always so dark and cold, the green was beautiful but it was far too sad. It didnât feel like Spencer, it didnât have his energy or personality, it was just a few walls and a bunch of books.
She sits on his couch and touches her necklace, remembering when he gave it to her and how she thanked him. He was rummaging around in his room without her, leaving her with time to just think about sucking him off on this couch, being between his legs, the feeling of him in her mouth, knowing she already had him this morning but she still wants him again.
She gets up from her seat and walks into his bedroom, pushing him up against the wall, heâs a little startled but he smirks, âwhat?â
âIs there a word for ravenous for dick?â She teases.
âHorny,â he responds with a giggle, âovulating? Frustrated, deprived, desperate... slut.â
âI like the last 2 together.â
âWhat else do you like?â He whispers as she leans in to brush their noses together, âweâve never discussed your needs, youâve always just asked about mine, but this isnât all about me.â
âIt was when you were paying me,â she rationalizes, âIâm pretty basic, Iâll try anything once.â
âBut what do you like the most?â
âYou,â sheâs honest. âHow big you are for one, the fact you can just throw me around like a rag doll if you wanted⌠I like your hands, and your mouth and I like how you talk, I like how sweet you are, I like how we could do the dirtiest fucking things in the whole world with each other. I like that we could do the roughest, kinkiest and most intense scenes and yet Iâm completely safe with you.â
He swallows and his Adam's apple bobs right in her view, she canât help herself from kissing his neck, licking along the pulse point before sucking a deep purple mark into his skin, âwhat do you like besides me?â
âPraise,â she whispers.
âGood girl.â
âMild degradation,â she kisses his neck again and starts to unbutton his shirt. âSpanking, raw missionary and messy kisses,â every new thing comes with a kiss as her hands reach down to palm him through his slacks, âpleasing my partner, knowing you get off to me, watching, being watched, belonging to you.â
He takes her chin in his hands and makes her look up at him, âin what sense?â
âMark me, claim me, breed me,â she whispers and his eyes darken, she swears there is a growl that leaves his throat.
âI want everyone to know Iâm yours, show everyone who I belong to, let everyone know only you can please me and show them that no one is better for me than my daddy.â
âYouâre evil saying all this knowing I'm not going to fuck you yet,â his voice has never been this low, his eyes are black and the grip he has on her is so tight it makes her gasp.
âYou asked,â she smirks, âand if you expect me to be an obedient little submissive, youâre very wrong. "
He gulps and the mood changes very quickly.
"Iâm a brat and Iâm a switch, and I have more control here than you do.â She tightens her grip around his cock and he whimpers, âthatâs what I thought.â
She undoes his button and takes him out, licking her palm while making eye contact with him, she then wraps her hand around him and pumps up and down his shaft. Gathering his precum thatâs collected from simply listening to her, his hand on her chin had made its way into her hair and his other grips her hip tighter than ever before.
âI want to fuck all day long,â she whispers, leaning in more and brushing her bottom lip against his, âI want you to come and find me when youâre bored and just bend me over and take me, I want to just sit on your lap while to read and ride you, I want to fall asleep with you deep inside me and wake up full of your cum.â
He tosses his head back against the wall, groaning as she slows her movements. She drags her hand up, squeezing at the head as he thrusts back into her hand, all she can think about is how good itâs going to be when heâs pushing inside of her, not just in her fist.
âDoes it feel good, daddy?â She teases him again, âare you thinking about my tight little pussy? Hmm?â
âGonna cum,â he whispers.
âI donât think that's how you ask.â
His hips sputter as he fucks her hand, âplease, mommy?â
Itâs so unexpectedly hot she clenches around nothing, aching for him with how horny she is, she drops to the floor, wrapping her mouth around the head, he cums within seconds. She pumps every last drop onto her tongue before standing and connecting their mouths once more, swapping his cum back into his own mouth, but he doesnât swallow.
He simply picks her up and tosses her onto the bed, pulling her jeans and panties down and off one leg to expose her dripping pussy. He lifts her hips and spreads her open, running a finger over her clit before spitting his own cum into her.
Itâs such a sight, she gasps at the feeling. Itâs so hot and wet and then heâs pushing it in with two fingers and fucking them into her. Rubbing her clit at the same time, she cums by surprise, itâs so intense all she can do is grip her breasts and wrap her legs around him for support. She trembles, moaning and whining as he keeps going, curling his fingers just right to rub her g-spot and keep the sensation roaring as long as she lets him.
She lives in the feeling as long as possible before it starts to get to be too much, âokay,â sheâs breathless and exhausted, lying there with her eyes closed when he pulls his fingers out of her, falling asleep from how relaxed her whole body is.
â
Spencer was in her bathroom brushing his teeth for the night while she slipped into her PJs.
She felt giddy, like a kid on Christmas Eve, thinking about how exciting tomorrow would be that the prospect of sleeping seemed almost impossible. She couldnât wait to hold him and snuggle him and feel the way he kisses her shoulder when he rolls over. She loves him so much that sleeping beside him is almost more important to her than anything else they do together.
Because when he sleeps, his guard is down. When he sleeps beside someone, itâs because heâs truly and fully safe with them. Heâs told her about all the people heâs slept with, how many of them didnât stay the night and how many heâs walked out on. She knows heâs not a fan of sleepovers from his childhood and heâs never been in a long-term relationship to even consider sharing a bed with someone before her.
In the beginning, he didnât want to sleep beside her because he knew heâd catch feelings, she understood and so they bought a pull-out couch for her apartment. He would sleep in her living room and she would lay awake in her bed thinking about how much better it would be if she could cuddle with him until she drifted off to sleep.
She crawls into her bed and watches the bathroom door as she rubs hand lotion into her skin, hoping he actually comes back to her like he promised and doesnât retreat to the living room. She smiles at him when the door opens and his sight goes right to her wrists as she smoothes the lotion over her skin.
âI forgot to give you your present today,â he gasps and rushes to his suit jacket in the closet.
He comes back to bed with another box, âhow much jewellery are you going to buy me?â
âTwo more of the gifts are jewellery,â he smiles as he opens the box for her.
Itâs a silver bracelet with diamonds and Rubys in a heart shape, like the necklace in pretty woman turned into a bracelet. Itâs so pretty she doesnât know how to react, âyouâre crazy, you know that?â
He nods with a smile, âcrazy for you.â
âDonât,â she raises her brows with her pointer finger raised, shushing him. âYou know what being all lovey-dovey does to me, and I'm tired.â
It makes him laugh, âIâm just going to leave this on the dresser.â
She takes it from him and stops him from getting up, âno, Iâll just leave it on here, just get into bed, please?â She moves it to her night table and pulls the sheets back so he can get into bed with her. She turns off the lamp on her night table and watches him lay back on his side of the bed.
She snuggles into his chest and places her face in the crook of his neck. Holding him as close as humanly possible, he smells like home and safety.
âI love you so much, Spencer,â she whispers it, feeling very needy and emotional and she has no idea why.
He simply kisses the top of her head while soothing his hand over her back, âI love you just as much, Y/N.â
It was rare for them to use each other's real names, so much of their time together was spent in silence but when it wasnât, they referred to each other with a long list of different pet names. It made it less personal, it kept their real lives separate and created a world where they just existed with each other.
A world where he wasnât Spencer Reid with 3 PH.D.s, a drug problem and a sick mother. When he was with her he was just a guy who liked to explore. He was her buddy who took her to museums and concerts, he was her daddy who held her hand when they walked to the park together to play chess, he was her sweetheart on nights when he cried and needed some love.
Tonight heâs just Spencer.
Heâs everything heâs been before and nothing like his old self all at the same time. Heâs constantly having a breakthrough, heâs broken through ceilings of grief and trauma, grown past the names heâs been called and adjusted to the fact this is how his life is and he's not as evil as he thinks he is.
Heâs happy and content. Heâs so much different now than how he was when she met him and while he likes to thank her for that, he always had the power to get here. It was a long road to recovery, he just happened upon her on the path and brought her along for the journey and now sheâs never going to leave him.
âAre you crying?â He asks, bringing her back to reality to notice that yes, she is indeed crying.
She nods and sniffles, wiping her tears with his t-shirt. âIâm sorry, Iâm just tired.â
âHey,â he pets her hair and waits for her to look up at him. âWhat do you say when I apologize for crying?â
âDonât apologize, your feelings are important to feel so you can move past them,â she whispers the mantra her parents raised her on, something that really helped him.
âI'm not crying because Iâm hurting,â she whispers. âIâm crying because youâre not anymore.â
âWhat?â
She realizes it comes out weird, âIâm proud of you, and Iâm happy that I get to love you now.â
âHow long have you loved me?â Thereâs a small sadness in his voice like he wishes he could have moved faster for her.
âSince you told me youâd help me get my book published just for going to museums with you,â she whispers, âbecause you saw me as talented and worthy of greatness and you wanted to help me succeed instead of wanting to pay me to suck your dick in a more legal way.â
âI was in it for a friend,â heâs said it before, âit was easier to pay someone to hang out with me than stumble across someone who would understand me this well.â
âI canât imagine you just going to a park and striking up conversations with someone,â she laughs, âI think it was just meant to happen like this.â
He sighs, âIâd do it again.â
âWhat?â Sheâs too tired and sad to follow his train of thought.
âIâd go through all the pain and trauma again, exactly the same way if it brings me right back here. Right to you.â
She pulls back from his neck and connects her lips to his faster than ever before, kissing him deeply as she cries again.
âI love you,â she whispers against his lips between kisses, he whispers it right back.

umpah umpah! smau
âŞď¸ bokuto x f!reader x iwaizumi
[033] â epilogue!
masterlist | prev. | next
a/n: this is definitely not my best writing cause my brain was going brr the entire time i was writing this, but i honestly canât believed i have finished yet another smau! 𼳠â¨if iâm being completely honest this smau took a complete turn to what i was initially planning,, but it ended up not being that bad. i certainly feel like this smau wouldâve been a lot better if i didnât have school preoccupying me 24/7, but iâm still really proud of this. thank you guys for reading and dealing with this messy, messy smau!! âşď¸
a year flew by faster than you had hoped. Two weeks turned into a month, a month turned into six, and six months turned into a year. A lot of things can happen within a year. Hell, a shit ton of things can happen within six months, yet here you were, all glammed up in your best dress at the move premiere of love cemetery.
you hadnât felt this nervous in ages. the quickening of your pulse, the rapidly beating heart, to your pals that perspired as the seconds ticked on by. akaashi stood by you this whole time as your gaze keeps looking over to the guest list as if it were to magically change if you were too look away for one second. akaashi had been by your side, your moral support and the absolute backbone of your sanity the moment you and the team landed in los angeles a year ago. he noticed everything about you. he was one of your best friends, how could he not notice the way you were suddenly quiet and not excited right now?
he laid a careful hand on the small of your back to comfort you, leaning over to the same list of guests you were worrying about. âare you worried about who i invited again?â
âiâm more worried theyâre not coming.â you confess without a single beat missed.
âoh, they will,â he assured you confidently. there was even a rising smirk in his expression when he let go of you, âhave a little bit of faith in me will you? i was the one who got you back in touch with them.â
you huff playfully, rolling your eyes as you recalled the strange feeling of isolation over six months ago when you landed in la. it was in no doubt the longest flight of your life, lasting a good fifteen hours if you counted the two hour layover in hawaii due to reckless turbulence (it was one of the scariest flights in your life too). you had read their texts then, drowning in the sudden downpour of emotions when you read their words, i love you.
it almost didnât seem real. you swore it had to have been the fatigue playing games on you as you couldnât sleep for the life of you on the plane. yeah, maybe that was it, you excused. you were so desperate for their messages to be a figment of your imagination, you literally tried everythingâturning your phone on and off, asking sugawara for eye droplets, and even ignored it until you were back on the plane and landed in los angeles. it had to be fake, please be fake. yet, in the back of your head you knew damn well it wasnât.
there was a plaguing thought within you, one thatâs so destructive and degenerative that you hated the fact you thought this way. but it wasnât like you could help it. insecurity was a troublesome venom that coursed through your veins everyday and there didnât seem to be an antidote to your own self-destruction.Â
you loved them both, but you werenât entirely sure if you had enough love to give for the both of them, let alone one. iwaizumi and bokutoâs feelings confused you to the core. you broke their hearts, yet how could they still love you so dearly?
you didnât know the answer nor did you have time to even find it.
the film crew stayed in los angeles for two weeks and filmed over the course of that time period. days were filled with twelve hour shoots and a tight film schedule. being the author of the work itself, you were a major part of the production alongside the director. he trusted your vision and youâd often find yourself staying on set the entire day while kaori and the rest of the ddd team felt like they were on vacation. your only free time during that time was the ten minute holy grails in between takes that you were able to check social media.
you simply didnât have the time to think about them. and yet they were like haunting ghosts that followed you relentlessly. every time you checked twitter or instagram, you would see every post, every tweet, every story. all of which would send your heart spiraling and tugging.
you missed them. but it wasnât like you could do anything about it. you couldnât possibly strike up conversation with any of them after completely ignoring their calls and texts for weeks. you had to have an odd amount of audacity to do that, and you simply didnât have the guts to do so. if anything, the only lasting form of communication between you and the boys was the ringing notification that you liked each otherâs posts.
it was quite the sad reality.
the film set then transferred to new york city, where the next two weeks would be filled with yet another plethora of twelve hour work days. fortunately for you, the rest of the ddd team were pulling a bit more of their weight, helping you on the creative side of things, yet still having the time to do all the fun touristy things whilst in the city.
you could remember the way your heart lit up seeing iwaizumi and bokutoâs names beneath who saw your story. it was a video of you and your team at the lady liberty statue. in it, kaori and yuko were chomping down on gigantic $2 street hot dogs, sugawara was yelling at semi for getting in the way of his film camera, while akaashi was complaining that the wind kept knocking down his green lady liberty hat.
it was strange thinking how fast things can change. within the first week, you were always up for an adventure in the city when the days were filled with work, but as the week progressed, your social meter decreased more and more.Â
loneliness hit you then. it was a peculiar type of loneliness, the type that you felt alone despite being surrounded by your closest friends and working on your dream project. you figured you were just homesick the way everyone else was getting all ready for a night out going bar hopping while you sat in the living room of your hotel room in your pajamas.
âare you sure you donât want to come with us, (y/n)?â kaori asked you, concern washing over her slightly as you flickered her a tired look.Â
you shook your head, a small smile of gratitude melting upon your lips. âno, you guys go on ahead and have fun.â
your friends could only give you a look. they knew why you were being like this and they knew damn well it wasnât homesickness. semi specifically threw you a look thatâs meant to be teasing and oddly persuasive. âitâs been over a month, this can be a chance for you to finally meet someone new!â he exclaimed optimistically.
what was stopping you, anyway? it was clear nothing was, yet you still held yourself back. homesickness couldnât possibly be to reason for it either. why are am i being like this?
âitâs okay, iâm with akaashi,â you decline once more, âheâll keep me company.â
âalright then, join us once you feel like moving on.â says yuko with a hint of venom in her tone. you couldnât blame her for saying that though as it was the harsh reality of it all.
your friends filed out the door, closing it in a thud and once again you felt alone. isolated as if you were in a void of your own silent thoughts that even the loud murmurs coming from the television wasnât enough to drown out your shallow inhibitions.Â
the night continued on like this for a few hours. eating snacks in the dark living room with the remote in your hand, flipping channels every five minutes as your running thoughts couldnât keep your attention span still. it felt like you were missing something, a part of yourself that you couldnât exactly pinpoint. you thought of all of the possibilities why you felt like there was a void in your heart, yet the only thing you could properly convince yourself on was that you just missed home. but was that really all that you had missed?
you thoughts are interrupted by steps approaching you. akaashi walks into the living room, flicking on the switches and causing you to grimace at the bright lights. your eyes stung slightly as they adjusted from being in the dark for too long.
âwhere are you going?â you ask akaashi as you noticed his dressed up attire.
âi got done with all the paperwork and emails,â he answers while he fixes the collar of his dress shirt, âiâm deciding to have some fun tonight with the rest of the group. are you still up for it? iâll wait for you to get ready if you want.â
the thought occurred within you that you should agree. that the possibility of this unexplainable feeling of isolation you were feeling would disappear if you were to just say yes and go. but as self-destructive as you were on yourself, you continued to hold yourself backâhesitant and always second guessing your actions.
you open your mouth slightly, but you ultimately just shook your head no.
akaashi lets out a sigh. he was genuinely hoping you would come around sooner or later. granted, it had been over a month since you guys left japan and he figured you would be over everything by now, but that obviously wasnât the case. âyou might be receiving a call soon... i suggest you should answer it.â
confusion flushed over your expression, giving him a strange look. but before you could even utter a single question to him, akaashi was already up and out the door.
he left you in a wake of curiosity for the rest of the night. it was nearing one in the morning and you still hadnât yet received a phone call. it honestly sounded incredibly ominous that you grew a tad bit nervous. there were only so many possibilities on who would call, but it would actually infuriate you if akaashi was just joking around. but then again, akaashi isnât the type to play something childish like that unless it was kaori or semiâs idea. regardless, the thought kept you awake as you eyes practically weighed like cinder blocks at this point.
you couldnât believe you wait for two hours for a phone call that might not even happâit shocked you at first, the ringing of your obnoxious ring tone and the buzzing of the vibrations on the table.
furrowing your brows as you reached over, a gasp left you the moment you read the contact name. your slapped a hand over your mouth to muffle your shock. your hand shook from the growing bundle of nerves in your gut as you hesitate.
the name âkouâ shined brightly against your face, coaxing you to answer as if your thumb wasnât frozen the accept button. out of all the possibilities on who would be calling you tonight, it just had to be him. it wasnât like you opposed talking to bokuto. if anything, you had spent countless of sleepless nights wondering if you should finally answer that text of his. yet no matter how many different messages you have typed, none of them ever saw the light of day. a hurricane of stupid conversation starters and ice breakers swarmed in your head, all messy and disorganized that if you didnât just suck it up and answered, you wouldâve probably missed a chance to reconnect with him.
fuck it, you thought as you accepted the call.
â(y/n)!â bokuto called out to you, sending your heart running thousands of miles an hour. it had been ages since you heard your name come out of his mouth, âhowâve you been? a little birdy told me you needed a little company.â
you had to hold yourself back from smiling too much as you could already feel your cheeks ache. you wanted to scoff and perhaps groan at the sudden embarrassment of what akaashi couldâve told him. âboââ you started, but is immediately cut off.
yet another familiar voice emitted from bokutoâs line, almost as if they were shouting, âyouâre supposed to say that iâm here too, idiot!â
the volleyball player chuckles, âoh sorry, iwa-chan! here.â muffles and cups clanking against each other travel through to line to what you assume is bokuto handing his phone over to iwaizumi.
âuh... hi.â his voice sounded deeper than usual.
âhi iwa, how have you been?â you chuckle, finding his sudden shyness absolutely adorable.
âgood, good. iâve uhh... missed you.â
âi do too.â
âyeah, yeah, you miss me most though right?â bokutoâs loud voice thunders through the call.
the juxtaposition of how daftly different they were was something you could never get enough of. perhaps it was at that moment you finally understood your loneliness through their bickering. you were in fact homesick, but the home that you were thinking of wasnât what you were missing the most. you suppose the home you missed was them. they were your home.
you let out an amused laugh, âright.â
âthatâs good because iwaizumi and i should be mad at you for ghosting us for the past month, but we understand since akaashi explained to us already.â
your eyes suddenly widen into saucers, panicking what he could have possibly said. âwhat did he tell you?â
âeverything,â bo sings.
you audibly groan in embarrassment, throwing your head back onto the couch in retaliation. you were glad they couldnât see how flushed and red your cheeks were right now as they even extended out to the tips of your ears.
âyou know it wouldâve been easier to say that you love the both of us and didnât want to choose right?â iwaizumi points out in between your panic.
âexactly!â cuts in bokuto, âbesides we donât sharing you, you know. who knew you were such a prude, (y/n).â you could practically hear the smirk in his voice as you couldnât stop the heat from spreading any further from your face.
now you were really glad they werenât able to see you at that moment. if they did, you wouldâve died from the embarrassment then and there. âgive me a break, i was too embarrassed to ask,â you mutter, fearing that they could hear how fast your heart was beating through the call.
âask what?â iwaizumi teases, âask if you could date the both of us?â
you were internally screaming at this point. everything that you didnât think was going to happen, happened all within five minutes and you honestly couldnât believe it. you were pinching yourself as if you were in a dream, yet no matter how hard you squeezed, this was actually happening. âshut up!â was all you could say.
âeven if you did ask... itâs not like we could ever say no to you, (y/n).â says bokuto, his words so enticing that you werenât sure if youâre heart can handle any more of this.
his words left you absolutely speechless. you honestly didnât know what to say at this point.
"iâm fine with it and bokutoâs fine with it.â iwaizumi says, âitâs just a matter if youâre willing.âÂ
bokuto then leans forward towards his phone, âso what do you say, (y/n)?â
you swallowed the lump of nerves forming into your throat as the one question you never thought you would ever be asked was right in front of you. and yet you still hesitated despite everything that had just happened. you loved them both, so why werenât you answering?
a few beats of silence passed before your gained the courage to push out the the very words, â... iâll think about it.â
âboo! thatâs lame!â bokuto shouts.
âiâll give you guys an answer when i get back home.â you add, hoping to ease the disappointment they were probably feeling at that very moment.
âthat wonât be for another few months, though.â iwaizumi deadpans that you could practically see the pout on both of their faces. âbut weâll promise to wait for you, (y/n).â
and so they waited for you to come back home, but you never did. schedules misaligned even when you were finally back home in tokyo. bokuto was getting progressively more busy now that the olympics were coming up and iwaizumi was just as busy, if not busier with the amount of athletes he had to take care of. there was even a constant flying back and forth from tokyo to los angeles for the film, all of which lasted for a few weeks at a time and you swear your couldnât catch a break.
this went on for months with the only contact between you and the boys were from texting and phone calls that ended up shorter than you anticipated. and now a year had past since you left and this very movie premiere would be the first time you have seen iwaizumi and bokuto for the first time in a year.
this was so ironic how this all played out. you havenât even realized you already reached the end of the red carpet when an interviewer calls out your name, microphone in hand and a camera pointed directly at your face.
âms. (y/l/n)!â the woman shouts over the ruckus of snapping photos and other interviewers asking questions to the actors behind you. âthere has been rumors going around about your dating life. are you dating msbyâs bokuto koutarou or their athletic trainer iwaizumi hajime, who has been getting a lot of attention from stan twitter just recently! could you share some insight on your live life as love cemeteryâs creator?â
âum,â you start, not sure how to answer the question as you nervous chuckled, âthatâs a secret iâm afraid i canât tell.â
before the woman could ask you any other questions, you walked away from the carpet and rushed towards the banquet hall. thankfully, akaashi and kaori was nearby and gratefully took your place in the interview without a second thought.
you let out a relieved sigh as much of the noise from the premiere died down as the only people inside the banquet hall were movie critics, the film crew, and other celebrities who were invited. by now, no one in this room would have the audacity to ask you such a personal question which caused weights to fall off your shoulder. you honestly should be used to those types of questions right now as a webtoon author that literally writes romance, but it always catches you off guard when you least expect it. honestly, you were just glad you didnât slip up.
as a small little reward for yourself, you grab a flute of champagne from the refreshment table, decorated all fancy that you even hesitated to mess up the display. you turn around to face the growing crowd of mingling individuals, talking and laughing amongst each other as you sipped your drink gently. but as you watch you feel a presence on either side of you, both of which sent your heart soaring and a smile to appeared on your cherry colored lips. you didnât even have to look them up and down to see how handsome they both looked. to think they were all yours.
âso what did you tell that interviewer?â bokuto asks nonchalantly as if he could just get away from a proper greeting. you were surprised he didnât just engulfed you into his arms then and there.
instead, you opted to play along, âabout what?â you tested with a smirk.
âthe question about who youâre dating,â iwaizumi adds in from your other side.
you shrug, taking a sip of your champagne, âyou guys probably wouldnât like the answer i gave her.â you could feel the brazen stares bokuto and iwaizumi were giving each otherâcompetitive and oddly provoking.
âshe probably said she was dating me,â bokuto hums in response, confidence radiating off him that it caused you to scoff.
âi doubt it,â debates iwaizumi, giving him the same energy. âshe probably said she was dating me.â
âactually,â you cut in before the two could possibly start bickering with each other, âi remember specifically saying that iâd thinking about it.âÂ
the boys give you a look, downing their drinks as if they were like the shots they swallowed many nights ago at that bar. it was as if they were trying to win your over again like your feelings had changed since then.Â
âoh yeah?â bokuto starts, inching closer towards you while iwaizumi rested his arm on the table behind you.
âso what do you think, (y/n)?â says iwaizumi.
they both towered over you, just inches away from your body, but you didnât cower or back away. if anything there was a playful smirk inevitably resting upon your lips.
now this, was going to be fun.
fun facts! â
sugawara has five rolls of film he had to get developed once they wrapped filming in osaka, each roll is from each city they went to for filming
iwaizumi and bokuto became really close friends when y/n left for la as they bonded over getting ghosted
bc of this,, bokuto posted a pic of him and iwa on his instagram and it got lots of attention that iwa went viral on stan twitter

Living with Sokka certainly had its ups and downs. On the one hand, he always kept things interestingâyou never knew what you might come home to find, and he often made you laugh so hard you had tears streaming down your cheeks. He could also MacGyver just about anything that broke in your apartment (usually broken by him, however). Youâd only had to call maintenance once, when youâd found him stuck under the kitchen sink, absolutely drenched, and shouting for help as water viciously sprayed from the pipes and the garbage disposal made some sort of ear-splitting shriek.
On the other hand, his mind moved a hundred miles a minute and he often forgot little things, like closing the kitchen cabinets or starting the dishwasher. One such thing he tended to forget was to finish his laundry. Often youâd find his still-wet clothes in the washer or his clean clothes in the dryer, having finished several hours ago. The two of you had worked out a deal: if Sokka did the dinner dishes and bought the snacks for Movie Fridays, youâd make sure the apartment ran smoothly despite his forgetfulness.
Thatâs how you found yourself dumping a load of his clothes onto his bed after finding them in the dryer while trying to do your own chores. You picked through the shirts and boxer briefs before settling on stealing a deep burgundy sweatshirtâan unspoken part of your deal was that if you found his clothes, you were allowed to steal a t-shirt or sweatshirt of your choosing because he knew you liked to wear the oversized tops on lazy days.
He came back later that night to find you standing in the kitchen, scrolling on your phone while you waited for your tea to steep. Your wet hair hung around your face and you wore the red hoodie with sleep shorts and thick, fuzzy socks.
âHey,â he said, dropping his backpack on the ground by the door and kicking off his shoes.
âHey.â You looked up at him as he bustled around the kitchen, tossing something into the microwave. âHow was work?â
âAnnoying,â he sighed in irritation, making you grin. He turned to you and frowned, reaching out to tug at the sleeve of your sweatshirt. âWhere did you find that?â
âI stole it from your laundry, stupid. You left your stuff in the dryer again. Iâve never seen this one before, did you just get it?â
âUh... yeah. Thanks for doing that for me.â
âMhm.â You slipped your phone into the front pocket and cradled your mug. âWhy do you ask? Do you want it back?â
âNah, itâs okay. In fact, keep it. Red doesnât suit me, I donât know what I was thinking when I bought it.â He had a smirk on his face that made you very suspicious.
You raised an eyebrow while you slowly sipped your tea. âIf you say so, Snoozles.â You flicked his arm as you passed him to retreat into your bedroom for the night. âDonât forget to pick up your bag. And snacks for Friday night!â
âYeah, yeah,â he responded through a mouthful of noodles.
You and your friends were gathered in the living room like every other Friday, this week to watch Jurassic Park (yet another classic that neither Aang nor Zuko had seen, much to everybodyâs disbelief). Katara and Aang sat together on the armchair, Zuko sat between you and Sokka on the couch, and Toph sat on the floor with her back against the sofa next to her service dog, Badger. You had your legs thrown across the guysâ laps and all eyes (except Tophâs) in the room were glued to the screen. Well, for the most partâZuko kept looking over at you all night. You tried to keep your attention on the dinosaurs, but you could feel him staring at you. Eventually you caught his eye and raised your eyebrows expectantly. He simply flushed and looked away. You furrowed your brow and turned back to the movie, pulling your hands inside the sleeves of Sokkaâs red sweatshirt and sticking them in the pocket.
âDid you guys know that Spielberg wanted the raptors to be taller for the movie and then a few months after they wrapped shooting, paleontologists found a new species of raptor that actually fit the movie portrayal really well? They almost named it after him,â Sokka said with his mouth full of popcorn.
âThatâs nice, Sokka,â Katara responded absently, obviously not listening.
âYeah, and they made the T. Rex sounds with an alligatâoof!â He wheezed when you jabbed your foot into his stomach. âAsshole!â
âPack it up, IMDB,â you huffed.
âI just thought it was interesâouch, Toph!â he yelped when Toph punched his shin.
âStop talking, I canât hear anything!â
âJust watch it!â
âI canât!â Toph barked. Sokka crossed his arms and slumped down, grumbling to himself. You and Zuko glanced over at each other and broke out in grins, pursing your lips to hold back your laughter.
As the movie progressed, you noticed the tension in Zukoâs shoulders. He had his jaw clenched throughout the whole scene with the kids trapped in the car with the T. Rex attacking. You nudged him with your knee and he turned to look at you.
âYou scared, Zu?â you teased in a low voice, leaning forward to squeeze his bicep. âYou want me to protect you from the dinos?â
He rolled his eyes but still lifted his arm, inviting you sit up and tuck yourself into his side. As you leaned against him he seemed to loosen up, settling into his seat and resting his head against yours. Sokka noticed this and looked around Zuko to waggle his eyebrows suggestively and very conspicuously, making your face heat up in embarrassment. Unfortunately, the idiot had caught wind of your crush on his best friend and had been relentlessly tormenting you about it ever since. You glared at him until he sat back, looking disgustingly smug.
After the movie finished, everyone got up to stretch and refill their drinks before the next one started. While talking with Toph in the kitchen, you noticed Zuko standing outside on the balcony by himself. You excused yourself from the conversation and made your way out to him while all your friends hooted in the background. It seemed everyone knew about your attraction to the boy, except for the boy himself.
âHey,â you said softly, stepping outside. He looked around at you and gave you a small smile that made your head spin. âYou okay?â
âYeah,â he sighed, âjust getting some air. Itâs getting hot in there with everyone in the room.â
You nodded and stood next to him to lean against the railing. After a few beats of silence, you could feel his stare on you again. You met his gaze curiously. âWhatâs up, Zu? Youâve been looking at me all night.â
âNothing, itâs justââ he narrowed his eyes and cocked his head to the side as if inspecting you ââis that my sweatshirt?â
You frowned. âNo, I took it from Sokka.â
âLying bastard.â His eyes widened at your offended look when you rounded on him. âNot you! Iâum, it is mine. I gave it to Sokka the other day and when I asked for it he insisted he already gave it back to me. The fucker gaslit me over a sweatshirt.â
âSounds about right,â you giggled. âIâm sorry. Iâll give it back before you leave.â
He pulled at one of the drawstrings. âYou can keep it, if you want. Itâs, uhââ he cleared his throat ââit looks better on you.â
You stood facing each other now, barely a breath away from being chest-to-chest. âI canât take your sweatshirt.â
âYou take Sokkaâs all the time.â
âYeah, because he always forgets his laundry in the machine. He owes me.â Zuko laughed a little at that, still fiddling with the string. You could feel your heart racing at his proximity. He sucked in a breath and seemed to brace himself for his next words.
âI kind of like how you look in my clothes, though. Might have to start leaving my stuff around here so you stop wearing Sokkaâs.â The confidence in his voice was betrayed by the rising blush on his face that surely rivaled your own as you stared up at him with wide eyes.
Your lips parted to speak, but no words came out. All you could squeak out was a soft, âZuko,â when he raised his hand to brush a loose piece of hair back behind your ear. You felt frozen, rooted to the spot, when his fingertips grazed your cheekbone. His hand lingered there, palm radiating heat into your already flushed cheeks.
âIââ he pulled his hand back and chuckled nervously, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly ââsorry.â
âFor what?â you asked.
âI donât know.â You grinned at each other and in that moment it couldâve been just you and Zuko left on the planet and it wouldnâtâve mattered; everything you wanted and needed was right there in front of you, if you were bold enough to take that final step toward it.
âZukoââ
âHey, weâoh!â Both of you whipped your heads around when the door slid open to reveal Aang standing there. His whole face went red and he laughed in embarrassment. âSorry! Just wanted to tell you guys we were gonna start the movie, but no rush! Take your time!â He started to back away and you felt yourself release from Zukoâs magnetic pull now that your small bubble had been invaded.
âItâs okay, Aang.â You smiled gently at your friend and started to make your way back inside. âWe were about to head in anyways.â
Aang shot Zuko an apologetic look before nodding and hurrying away. Zuko couldnât find it in himself to be bitter about the ruined moment when you reached out towards him and gazed up at him with those warm, bright eyes. âYou coming, Zu?â
âYeah, right behind you.â He took your outstretched hand and laced your fingers together, squeezing his palm against yours.
Maybe you werenât the last people on Earth, and maybe you hadnât taken that leap just yet, but something between you two shifted and finally clicked into place out there on that balcony. Everything would work out just fineâhe knew it in the way you kept your fingers slotted perfectly between his as Jaws played on the television, and in the way you quickly rose onto your toes to press a kiss to his cheek in the hallway before he left. He couldnât wipe the dreamy little smile off his face for the rest of the night, even as he laid awake in bed thinking about you.
Yeah; everything would be just fine.

47. Stupid Teenage crush
Prompt used- Touching their elbow to get their attention | ANGST | HURT COMFORT | IRL- based
To be 17 and to be in love, harry was no exception.
Harry saw it in his eyes, he really did.. but was he wrong. Was he so absolutely wrong...
They met in July again after years, last year. It wasn't such a special meet or something he could tell his kids about, it was just a simple meet with only a question being asked while they were doing potions homework. Harry was sat in the library doing his homework when he got stuck and desperately needed help and there he was, sitting in his black suit on the end of the table, scratching down his own work. Harry had asked for help in his notes, and without hesitation draco gave him his notebook and asked harry to return it to him whenever he wanted, as Long as it was before potions class. Harry had never thought of Draco differently until that moment he decided to help. Like a gentlemen, harry hurried the work and decided to hand draco his notebook before next potions lesson and so he did, that's when they hit it off when Draco tried to make a small conversation and it resulted into a long conversation on parchment in the classroom barely paying attention to the class.
From little conversations they went to long conversations to dropping draco off at the end of the day to his dorms and only then harry would walk away, smiling to himself. He didn't admit it to himself that he was slowly falling for draco until that very night harry was sitting on the floor talking with Ron and Hermione. It was like a random switch when Ron and Hermione shared a sweet simple kiss that it occurred to harry, he'd like to do it too, only the one he wanted to do it with was draco. It was journey from then, harry would wait to meet draco before class, would desperately make arrangements so he sat next to draco without dropping hints, walk back with him showing affection in his ways is teasing only because they were alone, hit him playfully, go to hogsmeade with him, eat with him, talk with him for Long hours after quidditch practices . Everything was brilliantly perfect for harry.
Draco looked at him the way only someone who liked you did, he locked eyes with across the room like no one else did, made him walk entire grounds off just so he didn't had to walk off to the dorms early and to spend more time with harry, draco never talked with anyone the way he did with harry, never was playful but with harry, he gave harry the smile only preserved for him. Everything between them was simply their own little secret and Harry felt wrecked. He felt warmth spread inside him everytime he saw draco. He felt, loved, happy when he was with him, something he thought he'd lost feeling of after the war but draco became something to quickly to Harry that he couldn't help anything but admire draco, even if he tried so hard not to. Harry spent his days daydreaming about being with draco, somewhere knowing that maybe draco too liked him.
He was relentlessly falling without caution until it was too late and harry experienced his first little heartbreak when he noticed the slight ways draco would flirt with Astoria. It only happened every once in a while, so harry didn't expect a lot but when one day because of being sick harry took a day off, he was next day met with draco's stories of walking back with Astoria, going to hogsmeade and eating with her. It bubbled little jealousy inside of him but harry had no right to be jealous, why did he ? He didn't love draco, did he? It was stupid crush, right ? A crush everyone have when they're 17, that'll die out soon ?
Harry should have been happy for him when he first heard draco admit he liked Astoria, he should've been happy for him and all he did gave him smile but he didn't walk back with him. He couldn't, he was too busy pushing his heart into the cage of no feelings for him but heart had to be one bratty little thing to fight back equally hard and harry remained all but cautiously falling, again I'm failed attempts to not fall.
Then the news came, Astoria dating Blaise, who had left school by now to associate his mother in business. Harry became relieved, only he was little more cautious to not let his heart be played but a man is only but a fool with none soldier to protect his heart when the blow hits. When they expanded their little circle, theo coming into their little circle, harry loved him too. He never had a friend like theo who hated the same things as his own, loved the same things as his own. It was easy to just blend into with theo but harry should've known better about the little hidden plans, the classes they took together that harry didn't with them. But theo knew, theo saw right through harry and remained committed to not only have harry have the opportunity when it came but also talk with harry about his little day dreams. But theo came with Astoria and when Astoria happened, harry said only but " I'm over draco, I don't like him" and that must've been his biggest mistake, Lying to himself and theo.
Days turned to weeks, into a month of final examinations, graduation coming nearer. Harry hadn't met draco or theo apart from little crossings in the library. But heart broken once should have known,
" hey, harry, can I ask you something ?" Theo asked as he pulled towards the corner one day In the library
" sure, go ahead " harry grinned as he shrugged
" I was hoping you won't get mad or anything because I know it would be wrong on my part, but just so you know, I am still your friend and if it makes you uncomfortable we won't do anything" theo babbled
" what's the matter theo ?" Harry frowned, worried for theo.
" d- harry- draco asked me out on a date after exams " theo swallowed.
Harry's face relaxed as he felt himself falling backward, only he wasn't. His heart sinked, his stomach felt funny and his toes curled. Harry gulped as he realised theo was waiting for some response.
" and I'm fine with it theo. It's really considerate of you to ask me but I've told you before theo, I'm over draco. He's a gone crush. I never even liked him that much you know. I stopped liking him after Astoria. I mean, really " harry chuckled softly as he smoothly lied .
Theo sighed in relief " thank god because I like him too but I just didn't want to hurt you because you know, you liked him. You're sure though, right ?"
" of course theo, of course " harry patted his shoulder " listen I gotta go, Hermione would kill me if I didn't study. See you around and definitely tell me about that date later, yeah " and harry rapidly walked off waving a goodbye with a smile until he turned around and his heart fell out of his chest. Harry thought and thought, thought hard as why couldn't he just simply get over draco. He hadn't seen him a month, Barely talked with him, he should not have felt saddened by the little revelation, he should've been happy for draco, he should have been. But he wasn't, he couldn't even after he so desperately tried.
It wasn't until the graduation day that harry saw draco finally. He was dressed in his characteristic dark green robes with a Slytherin bachelor hat, his degrees in his hands. Smiling he approached draco, almost touching his elbow to get his attention when he finally saw who was coming towards him and harry all but felt sickened again.
In his moments of weakness, harry never even realised when had he actually grabbed draco's elbow until Draco turned around with a sharp distracted smile
" harry " draco exclaimed happily
" h- hi , happy graduation " harry swallowed, fighting his breaking heart into pulling a smile.
" happy graduation to you too. You did great by the way. I'm so proud of you " draco grinned as he patted Harry's shoulder. Harry looked at his hand over his shoulder, wanting to touch it just so he could hold his hand but he didn't..
He wasn't Harry's.
Proudly harry pulled a better smile and savagely replied " bet you thought you'd be better than me "
Draco chuckled " never harry, you're Always the best "
And yet you're with him, not me.
Harry crackled a smile as theo too joined in and best pretended not to be completely heart broken by seeing the two being together.
That day harry understood if he ever understood anything, all wounds may heal but some wounds leaves scar and if too, somedays they may even sting but you gotta live through pain, because perhaps that was love.
I really want to write a part 2 to this. This one really had me thinking until the right inspiration hit, and here's something based of real life. Happy reading..
Requests open

love you to the moon and to saturn
This is part 4 of my Sander in NYC âverse. I posted it on ao3, but recently Iâve also been posting my fics on tumblr so here it is đ
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3Â
Warnings: mild sexual content
* * *
Saturday, 10:00
His sleep was anxious, mind too preoccupied with stress to allow him to get a proper rest. The wake up was even worse as mere seconds after he blinked the sleep away from his tired eyes the memories of last night crept back in, flooding him with worry and making his brain replay the argument over and over again like a broken cassette. And then he checked his phone only to find a string of messages and missed calls, all from Sander, causing his stomach to twist with nerves at what they were going to say.Â
His abrupt leaving had been a dick move and if Sander was pissed, Robbe knew he couldnât blame him. So he stalled, finger barely swiping at the screen as he was unsure whether to unlock it and face the consequences or maybe throw the phone back on his bedside table and bury himself under the covers to wait for his courage to come back and for his nerves to settle.
Heaving a sigh, he chose option number one because it was the only rational one.Â
He tapped Sanderâs photo, holding his breath without even registering it.
Two seconds later he knew.
He didnât need to worry.
 Sunday 13:00
Robbe hides another smile into his glass at the thought of yesterdayâs evening, trying to focus on what Marie is saying. Sheâs talking animatedly about a guy she met at her new internship, hearts almost flowing out of her eyes as she swoons on the wooden stool and sips her black coffee. Sheâs the kind of girl who falls in love quickly and falls out of love just as quick. Across from where heâs sitting, he sees Fien and Lucas rolling their eyes at her exaggerated lovesick sighes making him snort in his marshmallow latte.
âWerenât you obsessed with that lanky guy from Starbucks last week? What happened to him?â
Marie shrugs, tossing her long brown hair back from her shoulders. âI decided he was too old for me.â
âDidnât you say he was 21?â Robbe interjects with amusement, remembering their group messenger chat he caught up with this morning.
âExactly!âÂ
They all start bickering about the appropriate age difference in relationships, Robbe watching them as he munches happily on one of the soggy marshmallows he fished out from his cup, trying not to giggle at Lucasâ scandalized face at Marie calling 21 old. Robbe knows from the many stories Lucas has shared so far that his own boyfriend is a senior at college so his reaction is even more entertaining because of that.
It feels good to be around them again, Robbe thinks to himself. Heâs been canceling on them way too often those last few weeks and he still feels guilty about it. Theyâre a fun bunch, their bantery dynamic established since day one when they all chose the middle row to sit in during their morning classes, and then promptly spent half of it bonding over the outrageous occurrence that was the absence of a coffee shop on the campus. Not long after, Robbe also discovered that apart from the passion for filmmaking, they all also like skateboarding. After that, the rest was history.
They were for sure a nice distraction from Robbeâs intrusive thoughts in the beginning of the semester. He lucked out, finding his group, his people, so early on in his college journey. But at some point even their goofiness and honest attempts at cheering him up werenât enough. Not since the news from Sander came that heâs staying in New York until February and since the thing with Jens.
Now, observing them from over his half-drunk coffee, lips twitching at some of the more creative but still lowkey insults Marie and Lucas throw at each other, he realizes he has really missed them. Theyâre like siblings, the two of them, constantly bickering and teasing one another, but itâs all good-natured and amusing to watch.Â
âOh my god, let it go, children, for the love of god,â Fien cuts in abruptly, before turning her big expectant eyes on Robbe, twirling a lock of her hair around her finger and adding innocently, âIâd finally like to hear about Sobbeâs makeup.â
Heat rushes to Robbeâs cheeks and he scratches at the back of his neck, bashful all of a sudden. Sheâs the number one fangirl of his relationship, he has learned recently, but in a cute way, not creepy like Aaron sometimes used to be with his invasive questions. She always moans about being forever single, pouting at Robbe for some fluffy snippets and claiming in faux-seriousness that he owes it to the world to share them with others for being lucky enough to have a fairytale-like love story.Â
Robbe has never disclosed to them how unfairytale-like some of the details are because itâs not his story to tell. But he really likes her so he always indulges her, usually after a bit of teasing. And, sue him, but heâs proud of his relationship and the fact that he of all people can call Sander his boyfriend, so even if he brags a little, he thinks he has good reasons for it.Â
(Heâs still kinda smug when he thinks about the time when he showed the three of them a photo of Sander, a pleased little smile on his face at their reactions and playful threats of stealing him for themselves.)
âOh yeah, I wanna know too,â Marie agrees excitedly, scooting her chair closer to him. âYouâve been all smiley ever since you came over here so Iâm guessing that hottie of yours did something right,â she ends on a teasing note, her waggling eyebrows leaving Robbe no doubts she expects some saucy details.
âOh my god, stop,â he groans as he hides his face in his hands, his friends giggling at his embarrassment. âIt wasnât like that! We just⌠finally talked things out.â
 Saturday, 18:00 (flashback to last night)
Robbeâs been gnawing on his bottom lip relentlessly, completely unaware, to the point itâs a few bites away from drawing blood. He canât help but feel nervous, the cursor hovering over the 'accept' button as he's rolling his eyes on himself internally, telling himself to stop making a bigger deal out of this that it needs to be. There is a bit of embarrassment clouding his logical reasoning to be honest, embarrassment about his overreaction last night.
Was it an overreaction? He's still not completely sure, but it's not like avoiding the situation is going to magically fix everything between them. Even though he'd really like that. It feels so awkward to be in this position. Robbe doesn't know what the protocol here is. They bicker, quite often even. Fight a little too, stomping off out of each otherâs room grumpily but only over stupid stuff, nothing like this.
He's walking on an unknown ground just hoping he's not going to make things worse. He desperately needs their dynamic back because he's already over it.Â
Not being able to share the most mundane every day stuff with each other over texts to joke about it, rile the other up or just vent about something stupid like their coffees not being hot enough on a given rainy morning sucks.
So he takes a deep breath and clicks on the button before he works himself into a never-ending second-guessing.
When Sander says a soft hi and smiles at him with the usual warmth in his eyes, something akin to relief courses through him from head to toe.Â
He gives him his own tentative smile and a short hi, pushing himself higher against the pillows. Before Sander can say anything more, he lets go of what has been weighing down on him the entire day.
âIâm sorry,â he starts, contrite. âAbout yesterday. Iâm sorry. I shouldnât have just logged off like that without explanation. And then ignore your messages,â he adds after a pause because thatâs what he feels most guilty about. He knows heâd freak out if Sander just cut him off without giving him an opportunity to talk things out, would worry himself sick.Â
Sander looks conflicted, brows knitted together, like a part of him wants to reassure Robbe because it's in his nature, but the other part is genuinely hurt. Robbe doesn't want compassion. Not for that, because he knows he doesnât deserve it. Causing Sander distress is the last thing he wants.
"Yeah, it did suck," he finally admits after a moment passes, and Robbe finds comfort in his honesty. Itâs a good start. They wonât get anywhere with false niceties and pretending everythingâs fine. Robbe tried pretending, yesterday and most of their calls before that, and it got them where they are now.
âI mean, I know you didnât want to talk about your problems yesterday,â pausing, he scrunches up his nose a bit, âbut maybe next time just donât log off so abruptly so I know youâre okay?â his voice tilts on a hopeful note.
Robbe just nods, feeling shameful, hating that thereâs not much more that he can do when hes talking to him through his computer, and canât exactly reach out to cuddle up to Sanderâs side or kiss the underside of his jaw as a silent apology to then stay close for the rest of the evening as they heal together.Â
Itâs frustrating and disheartening, but it affects them both the same amount and Robbe needs to remember that. Because the truth is, Sander didnât exactly give him a legitimate reason to doubt him or to think he didnât miss him. Those full of hurt eyes Sander gave him yesterday at the suggestion have been eating away at him all day.
Robbe just got swallowed by his own insecurities and let the little things that bothered him consume him all instead of, well. Communicating.
Sander was right yesterday. Of course he was.
He knows he has some more apologies to give.
âIâm also sorry for not telling you earlier how I felt,â he keeps pouring his heart out, âand for, you know, assuming you donât miss me much, and-â
âWoah, hey,â Sander stops him before he can get himself deeper into the spiral. âRobbe, I fucked up too, donât take it all on yourself.â He adjusts his laptop and Robbe can see his face clearer now, his eyes bloodshot and tired, a clear sign of a sleepless night, and the guilt clogs his throat even more now.
âI should have seen something wasnât right.â When Robbe shakes his head and goes back to apologizing, Sander shoots him a pointed look that makes him shut up. âI should have, donât deny it. You know, I took a long walk yesterday after you hung up, to clear my head, but also to get a perspective on our latest talks. And I felt so dumb for not realizing you were not doing okay.â
âSander, I donât expect you to read my mind,â Robbe tries to joke, but it falls flat even in his own ears. But he canât bear those big regretful eyes on him. He doesn't deserve them.
âBaby, Iâm sorry I havenât been there for you the way you needed me to. Please tell me now? Whatâs been bothering you, hmm?âÂ
Robbe scrubs his face trying to collect his thoughts, to find a concise way to get everything out of his chest, but he doesnât know where to start.
âIt may take a while.â
Sander makes a show of fluffing the pillow he placed against his back and getting himself more comfortable on his bed, sighing with contentment for a better effect.Â
âLook, Iâm in my comfy clothes, got an energy drink on my nightstand, the computer battery is full and I told everyone Iâm busy so they wonât nag me with anything. Iâm all yours today.â He gives him an encouraging smile, fondness etched into every crevice of his face.
Robbeâs heart does a little skip at his words, Sanderâs demeanor so comforting that he feels the last pieces of apprehension ebbing away, the need to vent overpowering the hesitation of showing his vulnerability.Â
âI think I just found myself overwhelmed with some things,â he admits quietly, picking at his nail, an absent-minded habit when heâs nervous, as heâs trying to find the right words. âA lot has changed in those last few months, almost all at once, and I kinda have trouble coping. And like,â he scoffs at himself, âIâm angry with myself âcause I should be enjoying most of it, being in college and majoring in something that I actually like, and itâs great, but I canât help but focus on all the things that are different now, things that are not so great.â
Before continuing, he flicks his gaze to Sander for a second, only to then cast his eyes back to his lap. âThe last two years with you were the happiest of my life, you know? After years of bullshit and constant misery and pretending to be somebody I wasnât I-,â he sighs, bittersweet smile on his lips,âI finally found my person, you know?â
Sander mirrors his smile, but heâs frowning a little. âBut you still have me,â he reminds him softly.
âI know, but it sucks when I canât just, I donât know, snuggle up you and forget about stuff. Itâs all your fault, by the way, youâve been too good to me and now I have withdrawal symptoms,â he pouts, and hears Sander chuckling on the other side of the screen.
âYou have no idea how much I wish virtual hugs were a thing. And kisses, oh my god, kisses too. Iâm so kiss-deprived. Once I finally get my hands on you, I wonât let you go for a week.â
âPromise?â
âI promise.â
For a short moment, Sander manages to bring a genuine smile on his face, but it quickly disappears when the reality sets back in. There are still almost four long months to get through. He watches Sanderâs smile slipping off his face slowly and he knows theyâre both thinking about it.
The boy sighs deeply. âYou know, sometimes I feel like it was a mistake to-â
Robbeâs eyes snap to him. âNo, no, no, donât think that, it wasnât a mistake. Please donât feel guilty or something, thatâs the last thing I want you to do,â he stresses. Sander still looks conflicted, and fuck, this is exactly what Robbe wanted to avoid.
âHey, Iâm serious. Look, you not being here is tough, but like I said, itâs just things piling up, changing. Shit like school work that has been piling up and me getting so stressed about the end-of-the-semester project because I still havenât figured out the details. Plus people moving away, all of that makes it difficult for me to adjust. So donât go thinking itâs because youâre the center of my universe or something,â he ends his rambling with a feigned-offended huff and Sander easily lets them slip into their usual banter.
âIâm not?! Wow, the things a guy finds out after being such a devoted and doting and loving boyfriend.â He wipes the imaginary tear, letting out a long-suffering sigh. âSuch a menace, breaking my heart in half on this lovely Saturday afternoon.â He purses his lips in offence and Robbe is grateful for Sanderâs attempt to lift the mood, trying to be upbeat.
He feels a tug in his chest thinking about how if Sander was here, heâd be tackling him to the nearest surface to shut him up with tickles and loud smooches and playful jabs in the sides and how they would make much more noise than necessary, acting like the rambunctious teens they are.
Thatâs going to have to wait too. But he discovers this thought doesnât hurt as much as it would have yesterday because their conversation right now, this opportunity to vent and Sanderâs texts last night, all of it makes him feel better, helps him see heâs not alone.
âI love you,â he blurts out all of a sudden, and itâs something heâs wanted to say since he read his heartfelt texts this morning that almost made him cry in relief.
Sander blinks a couple times, surprised, but then his previously playful face melts into such a fond look it makes Robbe blush like it was the first time he said it.
The I love you too comes right away, soft and quiet, like heâs telling a secret, and itâs heart-stoppingly precious.
To keep himself from drowning in fuzzy feelings, he shoots him a private little smile and steers the conversation back to his friends, telling him how it sucks that itâs they all now live away and how unexpectedly difficult it is to meet up. Robbeâs used to basically having everyone at arm-reach.
âWe do video call, obviously, but you know, Milan is all loved up with Ralph in Amsterdam and not that keen on leaving their love nest and Zoe and Senne keep traveling between Genk and Ghent, which with Zoeâs coursework and internship is already a struggle. I donât think theyâre doing that well, actually,â he winces, remembering their last conversation.
If during freshman year somebody had told Robbe who his best friends were going to be, heâd looked at them as if they had grown two heads. Because for real, Janaâs new friend and her roommate? And schoolâs fuckboy?Â
But lifeâs funny like that sometimes. Moving into their apartment in his sophomore year has been one of the best decisions heâs ever made. His number one best decision is currently frowning at him from his dirty screen.
âOh, that sucks. Do you think theyâll work it out?âÂ
Robbe sighs deeply, propping his chin on the heel of his palm. âSenne has been thinking about finding a job in Genk so I hope so.â
Sander huffs a laugh suddenly, shaking his head. âWow, I wish I was in his place and there were only 2 hours between us, instead of a whole ass ocean.â
âYeah, I think once youâre back weâre gonna have a master's degree in that long distance bullshit,â Robbe smiles at him wistfully.Â
âUgh, never again though. Youâre not getting rid of me, it sucks without you, Robin.â He sounds so grumpy Robbe canât help the short giggle that escapes him, but deep down heâs happy they both share that sentiment.
Theyâre staring at each other now, enjoying the moment before Sander shoots him a knowing look. âYou havenât mentioned Jens.â
That sobers him up enough for the fuzzy feelings to disappear from his stomach.Â
Jens. Thereâs not much to talk about really. And isnât that a punch-in-a gut kind of truth considering it was his best friend? Isnât it heartbreaking that Robbe didnât even feel like fighting for that relationship and thereâs a nagging voice in his head telling him that Jens didnât either? Just a regular heated argument was enough to finally cut that last string, to put a stop to a friendship that had been hanging by a thread long before. Not that they had noticed.
He felt awful, afterwards. More alone than ever before. But deep down he knew it had only been a matter of time. He just wished Sander had been there to pick up the pieces.
âSorry I didnât tell you sooner,â Robbe winces, going back to apologizing once he translates his feelings to words the best he can, hoping he made Sander understand.
The boy pulls a face at him, eyes narrowed as he pretends to give him a stern look. âEnough with apologizing today, okay?â He waits until Robbe nods, albeit begrudgingly, because itâs in his second nature to keep saying sorry when he knows he messed up.
He nestles against his pillows to get more comfortable as he glances to the window, registering that sometime during their call it got completely dark outside, November days getting shorter still. He can feel tiredness starting to creep into his bones, the nervous anticipation before their call he had endured all day wearing him down significantly.Â
There are still some things he needs to get out of his chest and Sander coaxes them gently one by one, listening to him moaning and groaning about his school course load and how he thinks heâs not skilled enough to come up with interesting ideas and being quick to cut him off and reassure him when Robbeâs words get self-deprecating. Heâs so attentive and so patient with him, not even an ounce of judgement in his eyes that Robbe feels the pressure and stress that have accumulated over the last few weeks finally letting go with each word he pours out.
When the conversation eventually steers to Robbeâs uni friends and he admits sheepishly that he kinda ghosted them lately, feeling too blue to go out and have fun, Sander interrupts him mid-sentence.
âYou should reach out to them, tonight.â
At Robbeâs unsure look, he continues, âIf theyâre as cool as you made them out to be, Iâm sure theyâre gonna understand you needed some time to figure things out.â
He then proceeds to cover his ears and whistle, refusing to talk more until Robbe caves and shoots a text to the group chat, trying to keep it short, but explaining things along the way and making amends. Sanderâs very pleased with his persuasion skills, beaming at him when Robbe reads him the replies he gets from Lucas, Marie and Fien, wearing a small smile himself as he rolls his eyes at Sanderâs smug face.Â
Sander then asks about his mom and itâs so sweet because he always makes sure to ask, and Robbe falls for him even more each time he does. Heâs a bit reluctant when Robbe tries to make him talk about his recent days, keeps saying this call is not about him, but he gives in before Robbe gets upset about it.
Watching his eyes light up with excitement when he talks about his classes works like a balm for Robbeâs yearning heart, Sanderâs genuine happiness making his own struggles worth it. Itâs a nice reminder that heâs there to make his dreams come true and that itâs everything Robbe has wished for him.
When Sander talks about shenanigans with his friends, Robbe recalls the TikTok video he watched some days ago.
âNice Michael Jackson moves, by the way,â he comments, trying to sound innocent, but it ends up coming out a little coyishly as he bites at his finger to hide his smirk.Â
Confusion clouds Sanderâs face but only for a second. Then, his lips stretch in a wide grin and he looks very pleased with the confession. âHave you been stalking me, Robin?â
Robbe shrugs, a picture of innocence as he keeps peeking at him from under his lashes. âI mightâve seen a video or two. Theyâre all so thirsty for you in the comments though,â he adds, putting a note of faux-jealousy in his voice. He quickly noticed that Sanderâs new uni friend is semi-popular on the app so his videos always get a fair share of comments. Ever since Sander appeared in them, the hoard of the guyâs fans has been declaring their love for Robbeâs boyfriend under every video. They mostly make him laugh, but sometimes heâll roll his eyes at some of the raunchier ones, possessiveness that he didnât know he had activating in his brain.
He waits for Sanderâs cocky comment, but to his utter delight, he blushes deep red and scoffs.
âShut up, itâs so embarrassing,â hiding his face in his hands, he adds, âAll of my friends have been teasing me about it constantly.â
âAww, poor you, being fawned over must be such a hardship, how do you cope?â
âOh I donât know, smartass, you can tell me from experience âcause I saw those comments under your old vlogs.âÂ
Robbe huffs a laugh. âThey were nowhere near as detailed as yours!â
âWhat can I say, Iâm irresistible,â Sander quips back and yeah, there he is, Robbeâs favorite (cocky) dork. âIf Iâd known youâre my TikTok fan, Iâd have sent you those videos right away so you wouldnât have to waste your time searching for them."
Robbe sighs. âThey are a nice window to your life there,â he replies offhandedly, not even registering the implied double meaning to his words, but the immediate change in Sanderâs amused expression makes him aware of the slip.
Fuck.Â
âSo you noticed. That Iâve been texting you less.â
Robbe drops his gaze, pulling the cover further up his body, feeling awkward again. He doesnât want to make a big deal out of this.
Sander shifts on his bed, scratching at his head. âI felt like I was too much, you know? I wanted to share every silly thing with you, but then, well, it was something Josh said that I should,â he waves vaguely trying to find the right words, âcut back on my ârunning commentaryâ âcause itâs probably annoying.â
âTell Josh heâs stupid,â Robbe cuts in with a huff, grumpily beating his pillow into submission to make it more comfortable.Â
The corners of Sanderâs mouth twitch at his comment, but his face remains sheepish. âI think he was mostly joking, but it got stuck in my mind and made me question every message. In the end, I didnât send like half of them,â he explains softly, voice colored with poorly hidden self-consciousness. âI didnât want to give you the impression I don't have time for you, Iâm sorry.â
And, fuck. Theyâre both idiots.
Sanderâs brows shoot up when Robbe bursts into giggles out of the blue, clearly surprised with the reaction. But at this point, it feels like the only proper thing to do.
âSo basically we could have avoided this whole bullshit if we just talk about all this sooner,â he groans at the realization, burying half on his face in his pillow to hide his heated face because heâs a little embarrassed he blew things out of proportion.
Thereâs a visible relief on Sanderâs face too, eyes crinkling as he regards him with a dopey grin, and Robbe knows.
Theyâre gonna be fine.Â
âHere I thought we were masters of communication,â Sander sighs with a faux-disappointment, leaning back to smile at the ceiling. âFuck, no more of assuming shit, what do you think?â
And that sounds like something Robbe can get behind one hundred percent, more than ready to leave their misunderstandings in the past and just do better. So he nods, chin digging into his collarbone uncomfortably with the position heâs lying in, but it doesnât matter, heâs too preoccupied with staring at his happy face and swimming in his fuzzy feelings.
âPrepare yourself for an onslaught of photos and messages, Iâm not messing around,â Sander warns, smiling at Robbeâs soft okay. âYou know, just a few days ago I ended up at Pebble Beach, it was cold as all fucks, but the view was just,â he imitates an explosion over his head and Robbe giggles at his childlike enthusiasm. Then, Sanderâs face softens and becomes a little sad. âThat place is so romantic that it made me feel like shit without you there,â he sighs, and Robbe can relate. âIâll take you there one day.â
âYouâre gonna take me to New York?â Robbe asks, doubt lacing his voice as he cocks his brow which makes Sander scoff in indignance.
âHell yeah! You donât believe me? What do you think Iâm doing here everyday? Iâm scouting the best places for dates, finding the best skateparks and checking out all the museums so I can be the perfect guide for you!â Sander throws his hands, a duh expression on his face, but thereâs a wide smile brewing on his lips letting Robbe know heâs not really offended or anything. And, honestly, Robbe just melts with his words.
âI canât wait, baby,â he sighs dreamily, rubbing his cheek against his pillow as he gazes at him with what heâs sure is the softest look.Â
Sander narrows his eyes playfully from above the can of Redbull heâs been sipping on. âDonât ever doubt Iâm gonna go out of my way to impress you.âÂ
Robbe blows him a kiss that morphs into a huge yawn, eyelids growing heavy, forcing him to blink repeatedly to stay away which prompts Sander to tease him a little about boring him, but it quickly dies out and heâs just looking at him fondly.
âYou should go to sleep.â He ignores Robbeâs melodic neeees, giving him a stern look that was probably supposed to be intimidating, but he looks too amused to keep it up. Once Robbe gets his promise they will see each other tomorrow, Sander sends him several virtual kisses and goodnights before logging off.
Robbe falls asleep with Sanderâs beaming face flowing through his mind.
The sleep that comes is unsurprisingly the calmest heâs had in weeks.

Thursday, 3:48
Soft knuckles brush his skin, body arching into the touch that turns his muscles into jelly and sends liquid fire rushing through him. Heâs overheated in the best way possible, seeking out Sanderâs tongue, but the boy denies him access, smirk well in place as he pulls back, green eyes cloudy from lust. Heâs staring at him like he wants to eat him whole and Robbe almost whimpers, bones melting and lids closing when Sander takes the tender flesh of his neck between his teeth and bites at it ever so gently, but just enough to make Robbe see stars.Â
He sighs as he feels a ghost of touch on his nipple, Sander leaving a trail of kisses down his sternum as heâs moving so teasingly slow to his final destination, and he doesnât even hesitate, spreading his legs wider around Sanderâs hips in a blatant invitation, blushing hot pink when Sander sends him a fox-like grin, mouthing at his inner thigh.
The details get fuzzy for a few seconds, Robbe blinking rapidly to get his surroundings and finding himself on top of Sander, and thereâs an inkling at the back of his brain telling him somethingâs messed up about the logistics here. He decides to ignore it, focusing back on the moment and Sanderâs glistening, kiss-swollen lips, on his eyes transfixed on the place where theyâre connected, and he leans down, his tongue sweeping over his Sanderâs bottom lip before he starts pressing soft, spit-slick kisses into his mouth. He pushes Sanderâs hands up over his head and intertwines their fingers, arching his back as he takes over, the rush of pleasure almost overwhelming him.
âOhmygod, Sander,â Robbe breathes into his mouth. His hands are trailing all over Sanderâs chest and stomach now, squeezing and rubbing almost like heâs his personal plaything.
Itâs not long before Sanderâs warm hands draw him back towards his chest, lips ghosting along Robbeâs, teasing, always teasing, but not granting permission to properly meet, making Robbe impatient and whine in desperation only for Sander to grin wickedly at him. He feels nails dragging along his spine, leaving goosebumps in their wake, stopping at his cheeks, massaging them to his heart content while Robbe can only pant, rocking back and forth and biting his bottom lip to keep from coming.
Heâs an oversensitive, blissed out mess, trying to keep his eyes open to take a mental snapshot of Sanderâs lust-blown pupils as they watch each other, Sander fucking him slowly and punching the prettiest sounds out of Robbeâs mouth.
Hips stuttering, he drops back down on his elbows to crash his lips against Sanderâs, feeling his body tensing heâs so close and-
Eyes shot wide open, blinking harshly against the darkness of the room. His first instinct is to reach out to the other side of the bed, snuggle closer to the source of heat lying next to him, but his brain catches up with his hands quickly and he stops himself mid-reach, groaning as he flops back on the bed, disappointed. He kicks his covers down grumpily, letting cold air hit his overheated skin, frustrated and too awake to go to sleep now.
Fuck.

Friday, 19:00
Robbe checks his phone for time again, not wanting to be late for his call with Sander, but thereâs still about half an hour until he should get going. Itâs been a pleasant evening and a while ago he would have never called any time of the day spent with his father âpleasantâ, but there he is. Enjoying his dinner not only with him but also with his girlfriend of six months that he met in July when the first attempts to salvage the relationship with his dad have been made.Â
And itâs all because of Sander. The fact that heâs even here speaks volumes about his skill of persuasion. If it hadnât been for his boyfriend, Robbe would have continued to stew in his own juices and ignored his dad.Â
âHow is Sander doing? New York is a jungle.â
Robbe huffs a laugh. âHeâs good, he fits in well in the city vibe. But, um, he needs to stay a bit longer, till February actually âcause the school postponed the art show.â
He goes for another bite, frown on his face at the mere reminder of the change of plans.Â
âYou probably hate it, huh?â his father questions.Â
His only response is to throw him a duuuh look, making his dad snort.
âYou should visit him.â
Robbe looks up from over his spaghetti, expecting to see his dad laughing or winking at him, but both him and Margaux are looking at him with unsuspecting smiles, like the suggestion is the most obvious thing in the world.
He exhales a short dad in a laugh, glancing at them back and forth. âI donât have a spare several thousand euros lying around waiting to be spent on a trip to New York,â he explains, slight exasperation in his voice.Â
âOh I donât think youâd need that much, Robbe,â Margaux smiles at him as she puts away her fork and reaches for her phone. âA few months ago I was actually backpacking with my friend through the East Coast and, wait, let me check, I have everything saved on my AirBnB account.â
Robbe gets back to his dinner as she scrolls on her phone, trying to squish the building hope in his chest away because even if itâs cheaper than he thinks, thereâs still no way he can afford it; his equipment and books for school have eaten all of his savings.
âThere it is! Look,â she scoots her chair closer to him, his dad peeking at the phone from the other side. âWe stayed in Brooklyn for 98$ a day for a double bed, in Bedford to be exact and the conditions were really nice, plus the train station was close by. Iâm sure you could find something half as cheap since itâs just you and the room can be tiny, just to sleep really.â
âThatâs a reasonable price, I think,â his dad joins in, and then proceeds to ask her questions about her other expenditures while in the city and the flight prices, debating whether itâs better to drive to Frankfurt and take a direct flight from there or maybe decide on a layover flight from Brussels.Â
They are so into the planning and discussing the best options that they both jump slightly when Robbe speaks again, clearly forgetting heâs sitting right next to them, a picture of confusion.Â
âGuys, guys, wait. It doesnât matter if itâs 1500 euros, or even 1000 euros because thatâs still a 1000 euros more than I have to spend on a trip anywhere.âÂ
His dad is so enthralled into checking different flights that he barely raises his head from above his phone, replying offhandedly, âIâll pay for it.â
And, okay, no. Robbe gapes at him like he grew two heads, spluttering, because hell no.
âNo way, I wonât take your money, dad.â
His vehement tone finally makes his father properly regard him and he sighs after a second. âRobbe, please donât treat it as an attempt to buy you or your feelings.â
Straight to the point, his dad, always has been. It definitely is one the reasons for his refusal, but itâs not only that.
Robbe takes a deep breath to calm down. âLook, dad, itâs still lots of money. I canât-â
âIâm many things, but irresponsible with money Iâm definitely not. So if I say that I can pay for it, it means that I can afford it and it wonât affect me.â He gives him a pointed look. Before Robbe can argue again, he continues. âWe can treat it as your Christmas gift. And next yearâs birthday gift. And last two Christmases gifts as well.â
Robbe thinks about the packages he received from his father those holidays, and how he sent them back without even opening. Then, it definitely felt like buying his affection.
âYouâve been doing good at school, got into the university you wanted, youâve been more responsible those last few years that I couldâve ever asked from you. Then you worked during the summer because you were adamant about paying for school stuff yourself. I think you earn it, Robbe. If you donât want to go for other reasons, then thatâs fine, but if itâs just about the money, please let me give you this.â
âNew York is the kind of place everyone should visit at least one,â Margaux says gently. She has a warm smile that immediately made Robbe like her, despite really trying not to for obvious reasons. âAnd I think Sander would love for you to come visit too.â
Robbe has been torn before she spoke, but the mention of Sander reminds him of their videocall a while back, Sander telling him about places he was going to show him one day, being his guide and taking him to his favorite spots in the city. He can see it all vividly now when the opportunity is at his fingertips, canât stop the excitement filling his body at the thought of seeing Sander before that dreadful February, even though heâs still now sure what to do.
While heâs been lost in his thoughts, trying to come to some conclusion, Margaux has been typing away at her phone. âDates around Christmas are very expensive, but what would you say about, letâs say, December 8th? Til December 17th?â
Robbe wouldnât even consider Christmas because thereâs no way he would leave his mom alone for the holidays, but⌠the dates Margaux offered seem kinda perfect. His main project is due on December 4th so he wouldnât have to worry about that and itâd be fine if he missed classes for those several days. Completely unaware, he finds himself making plans in his head before he even made a decision to accept his fatherâs money, but when his eyes snap to his dadâs, the small smile he gives him lets him know he already knows Robbeâs answer.
 December 7th, 22:00
His excitement has been uncontainable the entire day, making him so giddy he had to cancel his regular call with Sander because his boyfriend would figure him out in seconds. And thatâs the last thing he wants.Â
Heâs still in shock that he somehow managed to keep it from him, planning a surprise in his head ever since he agreed to his dadâs help and working extra hard at uni to afford missing those 8 days of school. Thereâs apparently been one close call when Younes almost spilled the beans to Sander during their Zoom, but thank god for Yasmina who managed to effortlessly salvage the secret, improvising and coming up with an easy lie, leaving him unsuspicious of any ploy going on.
And Robbe just. He just canât wait. Heâs been counting hours since last week, his lips yearning to be kissed by his favorite person, body pining for touch and caress.Â
Lost in the dreams of their reunion, Robbeâs startled by a ping from his phone, lips stretching in a wide smile when he sees a notification from Sanderâs instagram. He opens it, curious, melting when heâs greeted with a graffiti sign saying ENKEL LIEFDE, Sanderâs style easily recognizable to him. Underneath, thereâs a heart and his own handle and that shit never fails to make Robbe heart stutter. Thereâs a DM from Sander waiting for him as well, the same photo, but Sanderâs caption says The High Line needed its own version of my love declaration for you, but unfortunately I couldnât find enough space for a redo of your gorgeous face Robin :( So I did this :) You like it?
He replies with a bunch of red hearts, likes the post and adds another heart in a comment because thereâs never too many of those. Then he flops back on his bed, a smile glued to his face.
Nineteen hours.

Winx Club Maribat AU Part 2
Hey guys I'm making a permanent tag list for my Maribat stuff. If you like to be added just message me! Okay on to the story!
Part 1
Masterlist
Marinette had a great summer
She loved being back home with her parents, but something felt different
She felt like her parents were hiding something from her
Something big
She tried not to let it bother her and just enjoy her summer
Her favorite part was when her friends came over
Though she was a little surprised when Damian's brothers stepped out of the portal along with Damian, Adrien, Alya, Alix, Jon, Juleka, Nino, and Rose
Jason walking up and ruffling Marinette's hair: You look surprised to see us Pixie Pop
Damian pushing Jason away from Marinette before giving her a hug: Sorry Angel, my father wouldn't let us come unless they came along
Marinette smiling: It's no problem the more the merrier
Marinette showed them all the sights of Paris
From the classics like the Eiffle Tower
To more local secrets like Ande's Icecream
Much to Marinette's embarrassment Andre made her icecream based off of Damian and his her
But it didn't seem like he understood or at least he didn't bring it up
On the last night in Paris before they all had to return to school Damian asked to talk to Marinette alone
They climbed out onto her balcony to get some privacy
The pair stood in silence for a but staring out into the Parisian night
Damian grabbing Marinette's hands: Marinette we've known eachother for a couple of months now, and they've been wome of the best times I've ever had
Marinette blushed: Really?
Damian also blushing: Yeah, I know it's only been a couple of months but I can't imagine my life without you, and I don't want to have to. So will you be my girlfriend?
Marinette rushing forward hugging Damian: Of course I will!
The two stood there hugging eachother as close as possible
The young couple pulled apart a little bit only to lean towards eachother again when the moment was ruined by a blue skinned witch
The blue skinned witch short a spell towards the two
Damian was able to push Marinette off the balcony and onto the roof away from the spell
Damian: Are you okay?
Marinette: Yeah
The others hearing the explosion came running out of the backery seeing the witch
Adrien spotting Damian and Marinette on the roof yells: Are you guys okay?
Marinette: Yeah
Marinette transformed and flying Damian down to the street with the rest of their friends
Mayu: I know one of you have the Miraculous! Give it to me at once
Marinette: What's a Miraculous?
Jason: No idea
Mayu: I will tear apart this entire planet until I receive the Miraculous!
Marinette: Oh no you won't!
The other fairies transformed and start to fight but it was like their attacks barely fazed the witch
Damian: Come on boys we have to help them!
The Specialist jumped into the battle
Together they were barely able to chase the witch off
Marinette had so many questions, but one kept popping up in her head
Did this have anything to do with the mysterious ring she found during her final?
After the girls and Adrien used their magic to repair the damage from the battle and check on Marinette's parents they decides to go to Gotham a day early and stay in Wayne Manor
Dick assured the group that it was perfectly fine and that their dad would much rather have a few surprises guests then for any of them be injured
Bruce was very welcoming to the group of misplaced kids
As the Adrien, Jon, and the girls minus Marinette went to bed, the Wayne's and Marinette stayed downstairs
Alfred: So why did the young masters return with their friends so soon?
Damian: We were attacked
Bruce: Attacked?
Tim: Yeah by some crazy blue skinned witch! She was looking for something....what was it?
Dick: She was looking for something, um, it started with an M. Mmmm... mmiii...
Jason and Marinette: The Miraculous
Alfres was shocked when he heard that
He's heard of the Miraculous before, the powerful treasures from the planet Miracul, but they were lost when the kingdom fell
Or so everybody thought
Alfred looked at Jason as he laughed at something Marinette said
He couldn't helping thinking back to the first thought he had upon meeting Jason
That he looked so much like King Rolland
But there was no way that the Dark Coven would have let the royal children live
They sadly were probably the first of their victims
They would have been the wielders of the Ladybug and Cat Miraculous
Together they would have been able to take down the Dark coven single handly
To not get rid of such a big threat early on would have been plain stupid so of course the royal heirs are no more
But Alfred couldn't help but think that Marinette looked an awful lot like Queen Clarisse
When the fairies returned they told Ms. Faragonda everything that happened
Faragonda had a pensive looked on her face, but told the girls to head to their dorms
With the start of school all thoughts of mysterious blue witches and Miraculouses were pushed to the back of their minds
Dick was officially a teacher at Red Fountain and was totally crushing on his co-teacher Kori, who could totally kick his but
Which is one of the reasons he loves her
Marinette kept teach Adrien magic with the help of the other faries
And of course Damain now tags along with Adrien so he can see his girlfriend
Though Adrien now hates Marinette and Damian because the 2 have made it their personal mission to kill Adrien
Okay maybe Adrien was being over dramatic
Truthfully the young couple just liked to tease Adrien relentlessly about his crush on Jon
Damian become more of a regular sight at Alfea
And with him came his brothers
Much to Damian's chagrin
Jason and Marinette started to become closer and closer
Adapting more of a sibling relationships
With Jason even giving Damian the shovel talk
Damian: Shouldn't you be giving Marinette this talk
Jason: No I prefer to threaten you
Damian just glares at his annoying brother
Yes everything was going great for Marinette until one day Alfea was attacked
This person was a man you looked like a scarecrow but he too was looking for the Miraculouses
Scarecrow was throwing potions at the young fairies that made them see their worst fears
Soon only Marinette and her friends were left standing though it was obvious that the gas was starting to get to them
Scarecrow zeroing onto Marinette: You! Your the one with the Miraculous!
Marinette blasting Scarecrow: I have no idea what your talking about! What is a Miraculous?!?
Scarecrow laughing: Oh my gosh you hold possibly the most powerful magical object in the universe and you have no idea, do you? Gove me the Miraculous little girl and I just make let you live
Marinette: Never!
Scarecrow: Have it your way!
Juleka was the first one to go down, Rose followed closely behind wit Alya holding out for a but longer before she too succumbed to the gas
Alix was able to stay much longer
She continued to fight besides Marinette blowing the gas away from the two
Watching Alix gave Marinette a brilliant idea
Marinette: Alix I have an idea!
Alix trying to blow Scarecrow away, but only succeeding in pushing him back a couple of feet: I'm all ears
Marinette: Let me handle this guy, you need to blow the gas away! If we can clear the gas everybody will go back to normal
Alix: I'm on it!
Alix flew down to wear the gas was starting to use her winx to blow the gas away from her classmates and teachers
Scarecrow laughing: Oh and what are you going to do, little fairy?
Marinette didn't answer the man instead gathering all her strength into one big blast
Even with all of Marinette's power the man only laughed
Scarecrow: That was cute
Marinette stared at him in horror
How was he laughing?
She put everything she had in that blast but it didn't do anything to him
Marinette was ready to give up until she heard the same voice she heard during her final
The voice: Marinette I can help you but you have to trust me
Marinette for some reason trusted this voice
She couldn't explain why she just did
Marinette: Okay I trust you
Marinette felt another wave of power washed over her
Green sparks surrounded Marinette and she felt reenergized
With this new energy Marinette gathered all her power again and this time when Marinette released her attack Scarecrow was blasted to the ground, getting knocked out in the process
Marinette pants as she landed back on the ground, Alix was able to clear the gas and everybody was starting to calm down
She cold feel the mysterious energy leave her as Ms. Faragonda walked up to Marinette
Faragonda: You did a great job Marinette. Well take this man into custody and find out what he was doing here
Marinette: Okay Ms. Faragonda.
Ms. Faragonda stared after her young student
She saw that green energy around Marinette
The only explanation could have been the Cat Miraculous, but that would be impossible
Faragonda needed to do some research
2 weeks later Marinette and her friends were called into her office
Faragonda: Thanks for coming in today girls, in light of the recent attacks I feel like this is important, but it also must remain a secret
Alix: What is it Ms. F?
Faragonda: We finished interrogating the man who attacked Alfea and it's what I worst feared. He is a member of the Dark Coven, the coven that destroyed the kingdom of Miracul.
The girls gasped at the information
Faragonda: Yes I know. They seem to think that one of you had a Miraculous and the attacks won't stop until you either defeat the coven or they kill you. So I believe it's time to gather the Miraculouses again and for you to start the next level of your training, Enchantix. Enchantix is achieved when you save a member of you family from a life threatening situation, that's why most fairies don't achieve it. They're not willing to take such a risk, but with Enchantix you'll be able to take on the Dark Coven and with the Miraculous you'll be able to start them for good
Alya: But how will we find the Miraculous? Weren't they scattered when Miracul fell?
Faragonda: That is true Alya, but we have an advantage that the coven doesn't have, somebody from Miracul. The people of Miracul had a connection to the Miraculous and with the royal family gone hopefully they will reach out to the last citizen of their kingdom
Marinette: Who is the last citizen?
Faragonda: Jason Todd. We'll be working with Red Fountain to find the Miraculous, but this must remain top secret nobody out of this room and the Specialist assigned to the mission must know about this. We have no idea how far the Dark Coven's reach extends
Faragonda: And one more thing girls and this is very important. No matter what never put on a Miraculous. Besides the Dark Coven the only people who would be able to wield and Miraculous was the royal family of Miracul and the people they bestowed the miraculous to. Anybody else who dares put on a Miraculous will be destroyed by the very power held within it.
Of course the Specialist assigned to the mission was Jason's brothers, Adrien, and Jon
They spent months tracking down the Miraculous
The Miraculous did seem to call out to Jason, but they called out to Marinette too
Marinette didn't know what to think of it
She was too scared to tell anybody that the Miraculous were calling to her too
She was scared of what it would me if they were really calling to her
And she was also scared that the ring she kept in her pocket was also a Miraculous
Marinette didn't let these worries get in the way of their mission
There was too much at stake for her to let her fear get to her
Their mission was actually going pretty well they already found 4 Miraculouses each on of the girls' home planet
The ones they found so far were the fox, turtle, rabbit, and mouse
With each Miraculous another fairy gained their Enchantix
Mainly because it seemed that a member of the Dark Coven appeared wherever they went
Alya got her's saving her twin sisters, Alix her father, Juleka her brother, and Rose her mother
Marinette was the only one who hadn't gotten her Enchantix and she didn't really know if she wanted to get it
The very thought of anything happening to her parents or anybody in her family made her feel sick
Today the group was going to the planet Miracul
They couldn't go by ship so Tim rewired the alternate reality chamber from the fairies' finals into a transport chamber
Dick: Are you sure the next Miraculous is on Miracul?
Jason: Positive, something is calling me there
Marinette also feeling something calling her: Jason hasn't let us down yet, I'm sure we'll find another Miraculous!
Jason: Thank you Pixie Pop at least somebody believes in me
Jason jokingly pulled Marinette into a tight hug pitting about his brothers questioning him
Damian: Please remove yourself from my girlfriend Todd
Jason turning to face Damian still holding onto Marinette: No, she may be your girlfriend but she's my unofficial adopted sister
Marinette laughing: Come on Jason let go. We got work to do
Jason: I don't really want to do the work today
Damian successfully tugging Marinette away from his annoying brother: Too bad
Tim: Now now, none of that. Come around kiddies I got the portal all set up
Tim pulling out 10 necklaces: So as y'all know we can't fly to the planet Miracul so we're teleporting. The teleporter will get us there but these babies will get us back. All you have to do is press the button and boom you're back here safe and sound
Jon: Sounds simple enough let's do this!
Of course no of their missions could be simple
The planet Miracul already held a lot of danger for the fairies
Since Miracul was a frozen planet the temperature could freeze the fairies wings and cause them to shatter
So the fairies of the group didn't want to transform unless it was absolutely necessary
The group explored the planet following the voice Jason said he heard
Jason lead them into the old place going to a room that felt so familiar to him
It was a child's room, old dusty toys laid on the floor covered in dust a frost
Jason was about to pick up a small chest when there was a blast of ice
Another coven member had found them
This one called himself Mr. Freeze
The fairies transformed hoping to send him off packing
But because of Mr. Freeze's powers the fairies had a hard time fighting him off
Mr Freeze aimed a blast at Jason
Marinette flying towards Jason: Jason watch out!
Marinette pushed Jason out of the way getting hit by the blast instead
Marinette's whole body was frozen solid from the blast
Jason and Damian: No!!
The two ran towards Marinette while the others continued to fight Mr. Freeze
Damian: No no no, please Marinette no!
Jason: No Pixie Pop! No why? I promised...I promised?
The ice around Marinette started to crack and shatter and Marinette emerged from it in her Enchantix form
She wore a dressed made out of Red petals with black vines wrapping around under her bust
With Marinette's new form they were able to blast Mr. Freeze away and send him into a full retreat
It wasn't until after the fight was done that Marinette and Jason realized something
Marinette looking at Jason: Wait, if I got my Enchantix form...then that would mean we're...
Marinette and Jason: Family

The Three Rules
*not my gif
Rule #1, Rule #2
Summary: Spencer X F!reader work through exhaustion and frustration while on a case.
warnings: swearing (med), throwing things?, death (not main, not graphic, but mentioned), cm style issues, thats it i think???
Pairing: Spencer Reid X F!reader
words: 4.6K (shes big)
A/N: I keep making these soooo long, so, sorry. this one is a little darker than the rest but ends in fluff per usual and has a little bit of funny Emily and funny Garcia
*I do not own any CM characters
~~~~~~~~~~
Rule #2: Always offer comfort and support
Y/N ~
Spencer and I finally moved in together about a month after the last incident. And he was right, it was more efficient.Â
âWe gotta go, we gotta go, we gotta go!â I waited by our front door and Spencer ran around the apartment looking for his keys.
âI know I put them in the bowlâ
âSpencer! I have keys, it's fine, let's go, lover boy!â He laughed and checked the ceramic bowl on the counter one last time before giving up.Â
âOkay, one last check. Coffee?â
âCheckâ I held up the two large cups in my hands.
âGo bags, checkâ he held up both of our bags on his shoulders.
âAnd keys, ½ so, good enoughâÂ
We arrived at the tarmac fifteen minutes earlier than usual...but still 10 minutes late.Â
Spencer~
I took both of our bags and stashed them in the jet with the others before taking my seat beside Y/N on the couch. As per usual the first teasing began from Morgan when I sat down and he saw that my shirt was buttoned wrong and my hair was noticeably more disheveled than usual.
âOooh, looks like a lover boy had a very good morning!â I glared at him as I rebuttoned my shirt and JJ immediately took action.
âMorgan, donât make me put you in time outâ He put his hands up in a mock defense.
âIm sorry mom!â Rossi laughed before handing me my paper file and Y/N her I-pad.
âMilwaukee again, they've got a child murderer.â Â The once light mood from the teasing had gone away in an instant as we all opened up our files to see the pictures.Â
âThat's an annihilatorâ My first thought was to take Y/N's hand, offering a little support for her and comfort for myself through a small touch. She took my hand gladly and gave it a little squeeze.Â
âAn overly sadistic one tooâ Morgans brow furrowed as we continued to review the case but with perfect timing Garcia's face popped up on the screen.Â
âI have a present for youâ We all looked at her with puzzled expressions through the screen.
âLook under your seats!â she began with her best impression of a talk show host and we all fumbled about to find bedazzled gun holsters for each of us with all of our names in special large gems of our favorite colors.Â
âWow, thanks Garcia that's- thatâs really thoughtful of you!â Emily tried and failed to contain her laughter as we all looked over to see Hotch replacing his leather belt holster with the bedazzled one from Garcia. He stood up to show her and got close to the camera.
âIâd say I look pretty badass.â He said it with a deadpan look on his face and then put his gun in it and sat back down without saying another word. JJ and Y/N looked at each other for a split second before bursting out in uncontrollable laughter. Like always, if one person on the team laughs, the rest of us can't help but join in. I always like to say it's because of Y/N. Her laugh is just one of those laughs that radiates all over and lights up a room.
Once we could breathe again we all thanked Garcia and she hung up with a big smile on her face. Now on to Milwaukee.
Y/N~Â
When we landed Hotch sent Spencer and I to the first crime scene together. Whenever possible on hard cases he likes to keep the two of us together because we work better that way. There is just something about the little touches during a hard case that keeps me going. And for this one, I was definitely going to need that.Â
âPoor JJâ As we walked around the crime scene looking at all of the damage done Spencer and I talked through whatever came to mind.
âWhat do you mean?â I love him so much. But he's absolutely clueless.
âI mean, her and Hotch both. I can't imagine doing cases like this when you have a kid of your own back home. It must be terrifyingâ he nodded in silence before crouching down in the corner of the little boys room.
âDo you ever consider it?â I continued talking to him even though I know we are here to work. Sometimes that's my biggest flaw. I don't shut up easily.
âConsider what?â
âYou know. Having baby geniuses one day?â I gave him a curious little smile as I waited for his response and continued writing little notes about the crime scene in my phone.
âWell i mean yeah, of course. But I'm not the one who'd be carrying them for 9 months am I?â I laughed at him and nodded before stopping altogether.Â
âThem?â He gave me a mischievous smile back and said nothing.
âFine then, keep your secretsâ
We finished up at the crime scene and then headed back to the police station where the rest of the team was waiting for our report. Hotch and JJ look notably defeated and Rossi, Emily, and Derek just looked downright exhausted. Sometimes our work takes its toll rather quickly, especially when it's a very emotional case. Seeing a parent sob so horrifically after you give them the news is never easy. It's draining.
âSo, what was the scene like?â Rossi spoke up from where he was standing in the corner.
âIt was carnage. Absolute carnageâÂ
âHow are the parents?â I looked at JJ who out of all of us definitely looked the most defeated.
âTheyâre acting like anyone else would. Theyâre distraught.â I grabbed Spencer's arm and held it tight as we talked about the profile. The more we talked the worse everyone looked. Garcia called mid profile and even her voice sounded exhausted. But we all knew that we wouldn't rest until we caught him.
Spencer~Â
None of us slept that night. None of us even left the precinct that night. A few times while we waited for more information or for someone to come in for an interview we would take turns napping on two chairs we wedged together to form a bed in the conference room. I tried that once, but I could barely fit my torso in them so I decided I would have better luck with the floor instead.Â
âSpence, you want a snack?â
âThey got pretzels?â I looked up from my napping position on the floor to look at Y/N when she stood over me with a few quarters in her hand.Â
âYeah, i'll be right backâ She walked away for a moment and came back with two cups of coffee and two bags of pretzels.Â
 She plopped both of them on my chest and crumbled to the floor beside me.
âDinner is servedâ I chuckled and took a swig of coffee- overly sugared just how I like it- and then ate a single pretzel before Morgan came running into the room.
âA boy was just kidnappedâÂ
In a panic we all rushed up from our various positions and walked out into the main room of the precinct. I went straight for Hotch who was on the phone talking angrily.
âThey put out an amber?â he blocked one end of the phone before turning to me.
âNot yet, get JJ on that pleaseâ I nodded and started to walk over to where JJ was napping.
âAnd Reid, get Y/N to talk to the parents, JJâs done enoughâ I nodded solemnly.
We all have to do parent notifications and walkthroughs sometimes, but JJ does them the most. Every once in a while we make someone other than her do it to give her a well deserved break. Out of all of the things that we do, notifying the families is one of the hardest.Â
âJJ, another boy has been taken, Hotch needs you to put out the amber.â I shook her shoulder and she woke quickly.
âMe? I should be with the family, have Garcia do it.â I looked her straight in the eyes and shook my head.
âWe got this one, you deserve a breakâ she said nothing but got up from her chairs and walked over to the computer to start on the alert.Â
âY/N, baby, Hotch wants you with the familiesâ she was still sitting on the floor where our coffees sat mostly untouched.
âOh, um, okay, let's go thenâ I put a hand on her thigh.
âHe wants me here. Will you be okay alone?â
âOh. yeah, i'll be fine i have the keys anywaysâ She looked uneasy but neither of us had any choice in the matter. I gave her a chaste kiss on the top of her head and she grabbed my hand for just a second.
âYou okay?â
âYeah, yeah, iâll be okayâ
I subconsciously noticed the way she indirectly answered my question. It was her way of saying, no iâm not okay, but go do what you do. I kissed her hand in mine and walked out of the room going to help Derek and Hotch deliver the profile while the rest of the team was dispatched to separate locations. It's going to be a long night.
Y/N~
By the time I arrived at the families house it was nearing morning and the sun was starting to rise. There were cops all around and in their house which I quickly told to go. Right now, being here is not going to do that boy any good. Only one stayed to guard outside of the house, and me, of course, being the current family liaison. One of the problems with being the liaison with the family of an abductee is that after you make the initial connection with them, you don't get to stop being their liaison until the unsub is caught. That meant hours of being by myself in their house hearing the mother and father cry over the loss of their child. That meant almost never sleeping, or eating. And worst of all, that meant being without Spencers comforting touch and encouragement.
âHi, Iâm Agent Y/L/N, I'm the FBI agent assigned to your family.â They were sitting on the couch in the living room, their sonâs toys covering the coffee table in front of them. The mother was crying soundlessly, almost catatonic, the father on the other hand was silent. He bounced his knee relentlessly and had no tears on his face.Â
âWould you mind if I ask you a few questions about Danny?âÂ
The mother stayed quiet but the father looked up from his hands to speak.
âDo you think my sonâs dead?â
Danny's mother withdrew her hand from her husbands and covered her mouth as she let out a sob.
âAt this point we don't know much. But, iâm not here to lie to you, if this is connected to the other abductions then more than likely, yesâ
The father still didn't cry, but instead just nodded his head solemnly.Â
I asked them all the questions I could. Where did Danny go to school? Is there anyone he liked to hang out with? Do you know anyone who would want to hurt Danny? Some of them were real questions that needed answers. But for the most part they were just to get a sense of the parents, and to make them feel a little less helpless. Spencer always says to me that the best thing you can do for these families sometimes is just to make them feel like they can help. Usually they cant, but sometimes taking their mind off of their own thoughts and focusing them can bring out little bits of information we never knew would be helpful. The morning came and went. I had a single orange and a cup of coffee that day. The night came and still, no news. I checked my phone constantly, even though I knew that my ringer was on. If they found Danny, alive or dead, I would be the first person they call. But until then, all I could do was wait.Â
Spencer~
Throughout the entire day I felt worried and distracted. Not just because I knew that the inevitable was close, but because usually, the team works in pairs. I deny it all the time, but I always work better when there is someone else with me. Not necessarily working with me- because I prefer to work alone- but just there. Someone who will remind me to slow down and take a deep breath or just let me talk out loud to them even though I probably won't listen to a word they say. But here I was, standing in front of a map, all alone, getting more and more frustrated by the moment and having not a single one of my teammates to get me back on track.
âHello?â I finally took out my phone and called Y/N to get an update. On her that is, not the case.
âHey, it's me, i'm just calling to see how you're doingâ she sighed and I could practically see her rubbing a hand on the back of her neck and adjusting her glasses like she always does when she's stressed.
âThat bad huh?â
âYeah, not great. How's the map comingâ
âIt's notâ this time it was my turn to sign into the phone.
âThe the rest of the team is all out doing recon so i'm at a bit of a loss hereâ
âOh, I'm sorry. Look Spence, I really shouldn't be on the phone, so-â
âOh yeah, no I get it, of course.â She hung up without a word of goodbye and let me feel somehow even more frustrated than when our conversation began. I know she didn't mean to be condescending. I know she's just as frustrated as I am. But that doesnât help me at the moment. After about another hour of waiting the rest of the team (minus Y/N) walked back into the precinct with downtrodden faces.Â
âWe just found the body, kidâ Morgan walked over to me and then sat down in a chair at the conference table. My heart broke. For once I was glad I wasn't with them today.Â
âDid you get a positive ID?â I turned to Rossi this time who stood next me looking at the map.
âYeah. it's himâÂ
Y/N~
I sat wide awake on the couch as it neared midnight. My phone lit up in the dark room with a call from Hotch.
âWhat's the news?âÂ
âWe just got a positive ID on Danny's bodyâ I was silent.
âAfter you inform the parents I need you back at the precinctâ I was shocked.Â
âHotch, they still are going to need a liaison, my work isn't done yetâ
âY/N, their child is dead. There is nothing more that you can do for themâÂ
âFine, i'll be back as soon as I canâ I hung up the phone angrily and gingerly knocked on the bedroom door, knowing that this moment would alter their lives forever.
I opened up the door to the conference room to find everyone sitting in chairs around the table. They all gave me sympathetic looks and Spencer tried to reach his arm out to me which I denied. Iâm a profiler, I know what healthy and unhealthy coping mechanisms look like. I know that pulling away from anyone and everyone is not a good coping mechanism, but none of them were there with me. None of them saw the look of terror on his mother's face when I knocked on her door in the middle of the night. None of them heard her screams or saw her crumple to the ground in her son's room, holding his pillow like it was all that was keeping her anchored. Â
I sat down on a chair in the corner of the room as we went through the profile and barely said a word. I saw Spencer looking back at me worried a few times while we gave the profile to the police and again as I went back into the corner of the conference room, still pulling away when he tried to grab my arm. Once everyone had gone back to researching or calling or going door to door, Spencer walked over to my chair in the corner. He put his hands on the arms of the chair and squatted down directly in front of me. Still being careful not to touch me, he tried to look me in the eyes but I averted them.Â
âY/N, you should go to the hotelâ
âAre you going to the hotel?â
âNo but-â
âDon't tell me that I need it more than you. Or that I've had a harder time than you! We are all struggling, we all need sleep! I can handle this Spencer!â He flinched a little when I started to raise my voice but still stayed in his position. Hotch and Rossi upon hearing me raise my voice walked back into the room and over to Spencer.Â
âY/N, Spencer's right, you need to get some sleep.âÂ
âIs that an order?â Hotch paused for a moment and looked at Rossi who nodded.
âYes, i'll see you in the morningâ I clenched my jaw and Spencer quickly moved out of the way to let me get out of the chair, but not before taking a firm hold of my arm.
âThis is a good thing, don't be mad at us for trying to help youâ I took my eyes off of the floor to glare at him.
âSpencer, if you value our relationship or your hand, let go of my arm and stop with your condescending bullshitâ
Spencer~
After she left I think it's fair to say that my mood did not improve. My frustration about the case turned into overall frustration with myself and everyone who happened to be around me at the time. I stood in front of the map without moving for hours just looking and going through all different theories in my mind. I was no longer alone but at this point that didn't matter.Â
âHey Spence, do you want any coffee?â JJ approached me cautiously and I silently shook my head.Â
âOkay, well, uh, let me know if you need anythingâ she walked away to the hall just outside of the conference room where Morgan and Emily were standing. I could hear Emily talk to her through the glass doors that separated us.
âSo?â Emily probed JJ as soon as the doors closed behind her.
âNo good, didn't even speakâÂ
âI'm worried about him'' There was a hum of agreement between the three of them before Emily opened the doors and walked in. she approached me with less caution than JJ, but still with a little apprehension.
âHey there, Spencer, do you need any help?â i didn't speak a word or even shake my head this time.
âYou know I'm pretty good at mapping it so it happens. I could also help with a key if you want? Or alternatively you could just talk to me? Or look at me? No? Okay, well i'm going go get myself a cup of coffee from the diner down the street, if you decide to speak let me knowâÂ
She asked me question after question and still I didnât speak or move. Finally after staying for a moment of hostile silence she walked out of the room to where JJ and Derek were waiting.Â
âSo?â This time JJ asked Emily
âI asked him like five questions and he didn't even try and correct my grammar.â
 They all paused in silence for a moment before Emily turned to Derek.
âAlright Morgan, your turn, good luckâ she patted him on the back and he sighed before walking into the room even more hesitantly than JJ was the first time.
âHey Reid, you know, weâre all here for you if you-â
I turned around very slowly with a deadpan stare.
âMorgan, as politely as I can say this, if you and the rest of the team donât leave me the fuck alone then I am going to take all 187 points of my IQ and shove them, up your-â
âWoah, woah,woah, okay pretty boy, I get the messageâÂ
He turned and walked briskly out of the room. I turned back to my board but could hear JJ talking still from the hall.
âI'm worried, I've never seen him like this.â
âThe only times he's ever been this frustrated we all know who got him out of it.â Emily stated and turned to Derek.
âIâll see what I can do. Hey Rossi, let's take a driveâ
Y/N~
I had slept for a few hours but the nightmares woke me up. It was morning now, so at least I know I got a little bit of sleep. I took a shower, got dressed, and sat on the edge of my bed, not quite ready to face the repercussions of what happened last night. I put my head in my hands as I remembered last nights events. I fucked up. Bad. After a few minutes I heard a knock on my hotel room door and got up from the bed to answer it. Rossi and Derek stood there with hands on their hips and worried looks on their faces.
âCan we come in?â
âUm, sure?â He said it as they had already walked in the room and I went back to sitting on the edge of my bed as they stood in front of me. Derek was the first to break the silence and he tore me away from where I was looking as I fiddled with my hands.
âLook, Pretty boy is in a bad place and you're the only one we know can get him out of it. If we want to catch this guy we need him, and to get him back on track we need youâ he stopped and sighed.Â
âWell, I have been ordered to stay here, so I guess you'll have to talk to our supervisor about thatâ Rossi grimaced as I said it and pointed to him. He put his head down for a second and then took a seat on the bed next to me.Â
âLook kid, you were in a horrible place and I know that you know that. If you want to stop feeling helpless, If you want to get that boy the justice that he deserves, then we need your help. Spencer needs your help. You are the only person in the world that could help him right now, so I need you to suck up your pride, and come with us.âÂ
I gulped and sighed before standing from the bed.Â
âFine. But you both owe me a drinkâ They laughed and opened the door for me as we left the hotel.Â
When the three of us arrived at the precinct and walked into the main area by the vending machines we saw a group of officers crowding around the hallway to the conference room. I walked right up to JJ and Emily who were making their way through the crowd towards me. JJ was the first to speak over the low murmur of the people crowding the hallway.
âHey, thank god you're here!â She sounded so relieved you would have thought Iâd saved her life.
âUm thanks? What's going on?â After I spoke I heard a loud thud and a crash coming from inside the conference room and a few people backed up from the windows. Emily got really close to me as she spoke.
âUm, Spencerâs...throwing thingsâ I cocked my head to the side and was about to ask what she meant when another object, a book i think, hit the window in front of me.
âHoly, shitâ I said with conviction and without another word walked to the front of the crowd and opened the glass doors.Â
Spencer was facing away from me, but still throwing markers, and wherever he could get his hands on, at the window. Finally as he heard me approaching he stopped throwing things and put both of his palms to his forehead. As I got closer I could hear his heavy breathing and see the damage he had done. When I finally got close enough to his back I put one hand on his shoulder and the other on his arm gently. He flinched a little but didn't move away or try to get me off of him. I got on my tiptoes to whisper quietly into his ear.
âSpence, I love you and I'm sorry, but I need you to calm down right now because the team needs you. okay?â I kept my hands on him and heard him gulp in between his heavy breaths. After a minute his breathing started to slow a little.
âGood. I'm going to go get you a glass of water and iâll be back in just a secondâ I took my hands off him and walked over to the door where JJ and Rossi were standing guard.
âJJ could you get me a glass of water?â
âOf courseâ
âRossi, can you make everyone get away from the hallway and the window, there's too many people, I wont be able to get him to calm down if his senses are in a constant overdrive from the soundsâ He nodded quickly as JJ came back with a glass of water in her hand. I took it from her and walked back into the room with Spencer as Rossi-with help from Hotch- started to disperse the crowd.
âHere, drink thisâ I guided him to a chair and he sat down to drink the glass. After a few sips I put my hand on his back and leaned forward so he could see my face fully.
âOkay, now I need you to tell me everything you knowâ
Spencer~Â
After a few minutes of drinking water I began to tell her about everything I knew for the location. At some point while we were talking I figured out where the unsub was and Morgan and Emily successfully got him and saved another young boy. As soon as he was processed we all decided that we wanted to leave as soon as possible, and not stay another second in that place. Even though it was the middle of the night Rossi was able to get the jet ready for us in an hour and we started the long flight home.Â
I looked In front of me on the couch where Y/N was snuggled into my side and rolled onto my back so she could place her head on my chest. Her eyes were closed but her breathing told me that she was still awake and while she was I wanted to make sure she heard one last thing before this treacherous trip was over.
âI never said thank youâ She turned her head on my chest so that she could look at me, but in the dark and quiet of the jet, it was clear she couldn't really see me anyways.
âFor what?â
âFor what you did back there, I never said thank you, so⌠thank youâ She smiled widely at me but kept her eyes closed in the dark.
âWell, thank you. For not making me feel like I was helplessâ she opened her eyes when she said it and it made me smile broadly. I kissed her head and turned back on my side so that I could pull her close to me.Â
Rule #2, every little touch, every little word that she says brings me comfort whether she knows it, or not. I think that might have been the easiest rule to follow, after all, when you love someone just being around them is enough comfort.
park meeting, part 2. (muggle au)
Hereâs part 1
The play date went fantastic; Marlene and Hazel were already at the park when Sirius arrived with Harry. The kid played with the dog the whole time and the other two had a really nice chat.
She told him about her work as a therapist and as a Psychology Professor in a prestigious university while Sirius told her about his fantasies of becoming a full time musician, but for now he was rather happy as a music teacher. He also mentioned that he used to be in band and that he played the bass, but when Harryâs parents died, he had to quit so he could take care of him.
Using his godson as an excuse, Sirius bought her ice-cream and walked her and Hazel home with Harry over his shoulders. Admittedly, he didnât want the date to end, but all good things must come to an end. He was so startled when she kissed him so painfully near his lips that forgot to ask her number. However, he knew where she lived and, most important, he also knew that she went to the park every day.
âDonât you think you are a little obsessed with her, mate?â Remus asked teasingly after taking a sip of his beer while lifting Harry with his leg playfully as he tried to climb it. Sirius hadnât stopped talking about this girl for days now; he was getting not only repetitive, but bloody annoying too.
Sirius rolled his eyes; he wasnât obsessed, he was just worried. Ever since the play date, Marlene hadnât showed up to the park like she said she would:
âYeah, I come here almost every day, I love this park and so does Hazel⌠donât be surprised if you find us here, we kind of VIP members by nowâ
âIâm not obsessed, idiot, I think something happened⌠I went there almost every day and havenât seen her, itâs been two weeks nowâ Sirius explained.
âWhy donât you call her?â Remus asked arching an eyebrow, it was kind of funny and definitely strange seeing Sirius worrying this much about a girl. He lifted his leg again, Harry giggling happily on top of it, and then put him down.
âI told you, I didnât get her numberâ Sirius groaned exasperated and then ran his fingers through his hair with frustration. âI even went to her place once but didnât know which apartment was hersâ he sighed.
âAnd yet, youâre not obsessing over herâ Remus pointed out sarcastically, picking Harry up and placing him over his lap. âI think uncle Padfoot is in love, mateâ he smirked.
âWhat? Donât be ridiculous, Moony, Iâm just worriedâ Sirius replied, shaking his head fervently. He leaned back on the couch and sighed, maybe he was overreacting and she was just busy. However, he couldnât stop thinking about her⌠what the hell was wrong with him?
Harry crawled across the sofa, grabbed Prongs and started playing with him. Both Sirius and Remus stared at him with a sad smile, he looked just like James. Except his eyes, he had Lilyâs green eyes. In a matter of seconds, the toddler was fast asleep hugging his favorite stuffed animal.
âI need you to do me a favorâ Sirius said after a while.
âWhy do I have the feeling that is something mental?â Remus sighed, rubbing his face with both hands.
âCome on, mate!â he smirked. âMental is what I did for you last year⌠remember that lovely bird you shagged on Peterâs birthday?â he pointed knowingly.
âYou shagged her friend, how could that be mental?â He rolled his eyes while shaking his head in disbelief.
âShe was a 6, Moony⌠you know my standardsâ Sirius replied simply. âBesides, Iâm only asking you to go to the park tomorrow with Harry and see if sheâs there⌠Iâve humiliated myself enoughâ
âOkay, first of all your standards are questionable to say the least. And second, I doubt a psychology professor would approve that way of referring to women⌠or people in generalâ he said knowingly. âBesides, I donât even know how she looks like, how am I supposed to find her, anyways?â
Sirius rolled his eyes, he just wanted to see her again, whatâs wrong with that? âHarry knows her, and sheâll be with a bernese mountain dog ⌠oh and she has blonde hair and blue eyes; sheâs gorgeous you shouldnât have any problem on recognizing herâ he said simply.
Remus rolled his eyes. âFine, whateverâ, he was only doing it because he was really curious about this mysterious girl.
-------
âI swear mate, he was just here⌠how the hell does he manage to escape with those tiny legs? Iâm looking for him, okay? Yeah, I know, he couldnât have gone that far⌠wait youâre coming? Bloody hell, Padfoot, Iâm going to find him, thereâs no need⌠there he is, for Christâs sake!â Remus hung up and ran towards Harry.
âWhy is it that we always meet like this, Harry?â Marlene smiled tiredly as she lifted him up and kissed his cheek. âLetâs go and find Sirius, okay?â she asked with her heart beating with excitement.
The toddler giggled happily, âHazel?â
The dog barked and Marlene placed Harry on the ground, allowing the kid to pet her. She looked around trying to find Sirius, but he was nowhere to be seen. However, after a few moments, another man approached to them.
âHarry, mate, you canât run away like thatâ Remus sighed heavily.
âMoony!â Harry giggled and then pointed at the dog, grinning happily. âHazel!â he beamed joyfully.
âWell⌠if it helps, youâre not the first oneâ Marlene commented, smiling politely yet a bit disappointed to see that he wasnât Sirius. âIâm Marlene, you must be Remus, am I right?â she asked, holding out her hand.
He blinked surprised and then realized she was the girl. Sirius was right, she was quite beautiful, and definitely his type. Remus nodded and smiled, âI can see Sirius told you about meâ.
âYeah, he did⌠but only good things, donât worryâ she teased and looked at Harry who was playing happily with Hazel. âAnyway, itâs nice to meet you, Remusâ Marlene smiled tiredly.
The past two weeks had been a living hell: first, she had the flu and had to be in bed for, at least, five days but stayed only three because she started treating a new patient that required the 150% of her attention because he had a severe depression. If that wasnât more than enough, she had tons of papers to correct.
âIs nice to meet you too⌠Sir- Harry hasnât stopped talking about youâ he commented, wondering if Sirius was on his way or not.
âOh, he is a really sweet boyâ she smiled. Remus seemed like a very nice guy, but she was exhausted and needed to get some sleep.
âThere you are, mate!â Sirius arrived, panting heavily with both hands placed on his thighs as he tried to catch his breath. âWe should try putting on a collar next time, little devil runs away every fucking timeâ he muttered in between taking deep breaths. He stood up straight and blinked with surprise, noticing the blonde therapist right there. âWell, hello strangerâ he smirked.
Marleneâs lips curved into a wide smile and her heart started racing. âHey, youâ she mumbled and placed both hands on her back pockets.
âItâs been a long timeâ Sirius said with a mixture of reproach but also relieved to see that she was okay.
Remusâ eyebrows arched and had a hard time trying not to laugh; he was this close to making a scene. He smirked slightly, thinking on how he was going to tease him relentlessly for the next couple of days.
âI know⌠itâs been a tough couple of weeks. I had the flu, and then the papers to correct and my patients and⌠oh shit, I forgotâ she gasped and took out her phone: her patient hadnât called her yet. A sigh of relief escaped her lips. âLook, I have to go⌠why donât I give you my number and we can hang out sometime?â she suggested, looking at Sirius.
âSureâ Sirius grinned and dialed his number on her mobile and called himself; when his phone started vibrating he hung up.
âIâm so sorry, I really have to goâ she sighed before whistling softly. âHazel, come on⌠it was really nice meeting you, Remusâ she said and then looked at Sirius. âCall meâ she muttered with a slight smirk and then, after checking that Remusâ eyes were focused on the kid and not on them, she pecked his lips briefly but intensely. Marlene bit her lower lip teasingly and then look at the toddler. âBye Harry, Iâll see you soonâ after saying that, she started running away with Hazel trailing behind her.
âOhâŚItâs been so longâ Remus teased him before bursting into laughter and, of course, earning a light shove. âOi, no need for thatâ he complained and looked at his friend who was writing something on his phone. Curiously, he saw the screen and read:
A Weekend of Firsts - 1/? | grandice fanfiction
A/N: Part 1 of my On Set Attraction series (for now). This one will be 2-3 chaps. Not sure yet. For the anon that requested an sdcc hook-up. I hope you enjoy this first part.
...
Synopsis: Grant and Candice get together.
...
Chapter 1 -
SDCC 2014.
The first real large-scale event that The Flash cast attended in preparation for the upcoming season one of their show.
San Diego Comic Con.
Candice was starry-eyed. It had been her first time attending SDCC as someone featured and not just an audience member. Sheâd secretly attended just for enjoymentâs sake once years earlier, but she wasnât about to spill that. She was a little embarrassed about how nerdy sheâd been, dressing up in cosplay and everything. She was putting that behind her. Now she was a real celebrity â or she was about to be.
Glancing back at Grant on the bus, she felt her cheeks grow hot and quickly turned around. Sheâd thought to look over to him because he, too, had never attended SDCC as part of a featured cast, but his eyes and his smile had gotten the best of her, and she hadnât been able to maintain eye contact.
What was the matter with her? She wondered, but it was no secret to herself why her heart started racing and heat filled her cheeks whenever she caught that sexy grin of his.
She had a crush. A big one.
He was single, so itâs not like if she acted on it there would be bad fallout. But it might affect their chemistry onset, which to hear it, was some of the best the casting director had ever seen.
Electric. Show-stopping. Edge-of-your seat. Magical.
She couldnât risk losing that by confessing her feelings. And besides, she didnât even know if he felt the same way. His rejection of her alone might affect their chemistry if they couldnât get past that awkward moment.
No, she was better off keeping this little crush to herself and hopefully getting over it, sooner rather than later hopefully.
She tried to find reasons not to fantasize about what the two of them together romantically might look like. She honestly did. She tried to find flaws in him. Real, honest-to-God flaws that could make her see him more as a friend than a crush.
But it was just so God damn hard.
He was such a flirt, and he focused most of his efforts of her. Heâd deliberately run into things to gauge her reaction, and heâd tease her relentlessly. He was funny too, so funny that she found herself laughing long after everyone else had stopped. Sheâd thought he would think oddly of her for that, but when their eyes met after sheâd stopped, he was only ever smiling at her, as if nothing existed for him outside of her.
They shared similar interests too â well, except for the ongoing Superman vs. Batman debate. That would probably never end. But they both loved dogs and video games. She had a few potted plants in her trailer that sometimes sheâd come back to see him watering. And his two dogs, Jett and Nora, took to her right away.
They gravitated to each other easily when alone, and his first instinct was to slow dance with her in between takes. She never led him on or tried to get his attention one way or the other. He always came looking for it.
And sometimes, occasionally, sheâd catch him checking out her cleavage or her ass when she knew he thought she was unaware. It made her wonder if maybe, just maybe, he had a thing for her too?
But she never brought it up and neither did he. The cast couldnât be completely oblivious to their connection though. She hoped they never brought it up to anybody. The last thing she needed was for people to think she was getting attention simply because the leading man was giving it to her.
She was the leading lady though, so was it that hard to believe?
She kept herself in check as best as she could, however. And when the bus finally arrived and they filed out, she made herself focus on what the itinerary of the day was. Well, for the first day it was pretty low key. They just needed to check into the hotel and attend a couple low key events. The real slew of interviews and panels and photoshoots, autographs and more would take place over the next couple days.
Paparazzi lined the walkway, as did some fans who had heard about the show. If they got renewed for another season, she imagined the fans would multiply at events like this. Not that she was hoping for that or even needed it. She was just amazed â still â that she had gotten the part. Her talent and her chemistry with Grant had sealed the deal. She couldnât be happier.
Once inside the hotel, they got their keys and made their way to their floor. Candice stopped at her door and was about to slide her key in when she heard Grant call out to her.
âHey, weâre neighbors?â
She smiled tremulously and called back, âYeah, cool!â
Cool?
She rolled her eyes at herself and got into her suite. She lay on the bed for a while, then peeked outside at the view she had. A busy street. Not the best, but they were in busy San Diego. What did she expect?
She stepped into her bathroom and turned on the shower. Setting out her clothes for the first event, she stripped down, went under the glorious hot water and soaked herself. After she was thoroughly wrinkled, she washed up, then shut off the water, dried herself off, and proceeded to get ready for their night of events.
Alcohol.
She hadnât thought twice when champagne was offered to her at the first event or the second. She didnât think she was anywhere near tipsy by the time the after party came around, but she did notice one thing.
Grant was flirting more than usual, and she was flirting back.
Her heated cheeks a faint memory, and her heart racing nothing to the sound of glasses clinking and toasts being made at their first day of SDCC being completed successfully.
Candice couldnât stop smiling.
She didnât know where the rest of the cast had gone. Theyâd all arrived together at the party. But now it was just her and Grant and other people they didnât know who probably didnât really know them, what with their show not having aired yet. It was nice to be somewhat anonymous and just having fun without a care.
Minutes ticked away into hours though, and when she looked around she noticed that the place was starting to empty.
She tugged on Grantâs arm and pulled him down to her to whisper into his ear.
âThink we should go?â she giggled helplessly, and he grinned, that sexy smile of his so close to her cheek.
Was it just her or she was getting more drunk and he was getting more sober?
âYeah, good idea!â he declared, smiling brilliantly.
He leaned across the bar to ask the bartender to call them a cab, even though he had his phone in his pocket. Candice giggled at that but decided not to inform him of his slip-up.
âDo you have money?â she teased, yanking on his arm again and pulling him close.
Grant grinned shamelessly.
âShould I ask him for that too?â He turned toward the bartender. âHey, dude!â
âNo, no, no, shhhh!â She couldnât stop laughing. âHe didnât mean it! He didnât mean it!â
The bartender continued his call and then gestured towards the door when he was finished. Looping arms, Grant and Candice stumbled slightly on their way out and promptly informed the driver where they were headed. They couldnât remember the address, but the guy knew his way around the city and was aware of where they were staying.
Candice decided then and there that she wasnât the only one bordering on drunk instead of tipsy. Grant just did a better job of looking like he was sober. But she was too far from sober to care what he thought about her behavior. Her insecurities were gone.
After paying the driver â miraculously â Grant helped her out of the cab and they fumbled some more getting into the hotel lobby, the elevator, and finally falling out of it when they got to their floor.
âWant to come to my room?â he asked teasingly, raising his eyebrows suggestively. She couldnât tell if he was joking.
âSure!â she burst, and skipped down the hall with him, her arm still looped through his when he got his hotel room opened and they struggled to walk inside at the same time.
Finally they unlooped from each other and burst into the room.
âOoo, this room looks nice,â she commented, taking a gigantic breath. âLooks just like my room!â She giggled profusely again.
He snickered.
âWe can go to your room tomorrow!â he declared, and she nodded enthusiastically.
âYes! Yes! AaaandâŚyes!â
She fell back on the large king-sized bed in the room and stared up at the ceiling. She was shocked to find her reflection staring back at her.
âYou have a mirror on your ceiling.â She pouted.
He came to lie next to her after nearly tripping out of his shoes.
âYou donât have one in yours?â he asked, turning to face her.
She turned her head to face him and shook it.
âUh-uh,â she said, and then made the mistake of dropping her gaze to his lips for a little too long.
âCandice,â he said, and he sounded really sober then it nearly sobered her up.
âUh-oh.â She sat up quickly. Too quickly. Her head hurt. âNeed more alcohol.â
She curled up and off the bed and opened the minifridge in his room where some chilled beers were located.
âWant one?â She held one out to him.
âOkay,â he said.
She grabbed another one for her and handed both to him.
âCanât open. Too hard.â
She plopped back down on the bed.
He definitely had to be sobering up, because he easily opened both.
âThink weâll get alcohol poisoning?â she wondered aloud.
He held the beer out to her and hesitated to drink his own. She didnât though and so he just shook his head and laughed.
âYou are the best person Iâve ever met,â he said, setting both their beers on the table.
âOh, wow. That is really great!â She placed her hands on either side of his head. âIâve got a crush on you,â she informed him.
âYeah?â He sounded breathless.
She nodded enthusiastically.
âBiggest crush ever!â
âMe too,â he said back, and it really didnât register until he leaned in and kissed her without warning.
When he pulled back slowly after sheâd responded just a little, he looked deep into her eyes.
âYouâre not as drunk as I am,â she accused.
He winced. âI just hold my liquor better.â
She pouted, then got a little angry.
âWere you pretending to be drunk so Iâd feel better?â
She felt her insecurities rising and wondered if this was a different kind of drunk.
âNo!â he insisted. âI was just being silly, having fun. Sometimes it looks like Iâm drunk when Iâm just having fun.â
âOh.â
She leaned back on the bed till her head was nestled nicely on top of two pillows.
âDo you regret coming to my room?â he asked, lightly brushing some of her locks out of her face, dipping his fingers down across her collar bone and along the column of her neck.
He slipped one strap of her dress down her arm to reveal more of her cleavage and then stopped, looking at her looking at him.
âDo you want me to stop?â he asked, his voice raspy, and she shook her head.
âNo.â
She reached up for him and pulled his face down to hers. Then she kissed him passionately and arched up against him as he climbed on top of her. She allowed his tongue entrance into her mouth and wound her fingers into his spiked, messy hair. His body felt incredible on top of hers, and she wound her legs around his, letting the skirt of her dress hike itself up.
When his hand landed on her bare thigh, she moaned into his mouth, then tipped back her head to give him access to her neck.
âFuck, Candice, youâre gorgeous.â
She moaned louder when he found the sweet spot on her neck and sucked.
âThat feels so good. Keep doing that.â
She bit her bottom lip, feeling her core soak itself through her barely-there panties.
She reached around his back, sunk her fingers into his covered ass, and pressed her body up against his, seeking more.
Then, as if heâd never been there at all, Grant lifted himself off of her and got off the bed. He retrieved a water from the mini fridge and drank half of it.
Candice propped herself up on her elbows.
âWhatâs wrong?â
He laughed to himself, then turned around.
âYouâre drunk.â
âIâm sobering up.â She hiccuped.
He came to sit on the edge of the bed.
âYeah, but Iâm not drunk at all. Not really. And Iâm not going to take advantage of you.â
Her eyes widened.
âBut I may not want this in the morning! I mean, I may not let myself want it.â
He wrapped a hand around the back of his neck.
âThatâs just a risk Iâm going to have to take.â
He got up and held out his hand to her.
âCome on, Iâll take you back to your room.â
She was annoyed, more than annoyed. She was intensely irritated.
But more than both of those things, another feeling rose up inside of her.
Bile.
âOh, God.â
She quick ran off the bed and went into Grantâs bathroom to vomit into his toilet. When she was done, she could barely stand up.
Grant wet a washcloth and wiped her mouth before gathering her into his arms and taking her down the hall to her room. He tucked her into bed, went to leave and then stopped when he heard her sigh loudly. He turned back to look at the sad expression on her face and braced himself for the words that would follow.
âI suck.â She huffed. âDonât I?â
âNo,â he said. âYou donât suck.â He managed the tiniest smile. âGoodnight, Candice. Iâll see you in the morning.â
He shut the door behind him before she could answer, and she spoke her reply to the darkness.
âGoodnight.â
She paused.
âI suck.â
Track 21: Hard work / Part 1 / Part 2
After the Storm-Kali Uchis ft. Tyler The Creator & Bootsy Collins
âThe sunâll come out, nothing good ever comes easy
I know times are rough, but winners donât quitâ
April 26th 2013
There was a knock on her office door. Aviva squinted at it. Usually the boys and Soonyoung just rushed in like the owned the place. The only people who tended to knock were her sunbaenims, none of whom she wanted to deal with at the moment. Maybe if she didnât answer they would go away? The knocking grew more persistent.
She sighed and got up to answer the door.
She and Jin stared at each other for a moment.
âIâve come for a meeting of the moms,â he said.
ââŚWhat?â
âA meeting of the moms,â he repeated. âAlso, I brought lunch.â He held up a heavy looking plastic bag.
ââŚIâm interested.â She motioned him inside.
They sat down on her couch, slurping up soup.
âSo,â Jin said, finishing his soup and putting the empty container down on the floor. âIâm worried about our children. Jungkookie has caught another cold. Heâs been struggling with his vocals. And he was already worried about being behind in dance because of that knee injury last month.â
Her brow furrowed. âHe didnât mention any of that me.â
âHe didnât want to worry you, since youâve been so busy recently.â
âIâm never too busy to help you guys,â she said.
He smiled sadly.
âYou should be, sometimes,â he said. âSometimes you have to take care of yourself before you take care of others, you know. Have you been sleeping at all? Youâve been drinking nearly as much coffee as Yoongi-yah, and that scares me.â
âHe hasnât been sleeping,â Aviva thought. âI mean, even more than usual.â
Jin grimaced. âMost of us havenât been. He and Namjoon-ah are producing every hour of the day. Hoseok-ah spends his time split between helping them and dancing. I know youâve been bringing him and Jiminie healthy snacks. Do you really have time for that with all the meetings youâve been having lately?â
âTae said they havenât really been eating because theyâre worried about looking good for the photoshoot tomorrow,â she said quietly. âI donât want to push them, but if thereâs anything I can do to helpâŚâ
âYou can lean on me a little,â he told her. âLetâs switch off. I can make snacks on some days, you can make snacks on the other days.â He tapped his chin. âAh, and Jiminie is worried heâs breaking out again, so I asked my dermatologist and she said leafy greens, berries, and sweet potato are good foods to incorporate into a clear skin promoting diet.â Aviva reached over and squeezed his hand.
âLetâs cook together.â
He blinked at her. âSweet potatoes?â
She laughed. âIf you want to, but I meant dinner. Weâre free tomorrow night. It could be a bit of a celebration for all your hard work, and a break from all the craziness.â
âOur hard work,â he corrected her. âBut, yeah, that sounds nice. Youââ He tapped her on the nose, laughing as it crinkled. ââIn particular, could use a breakâyou didnât even come to Lotte World with us last month!â
She shrugged. âIâm glad you guys had a day off, but I donât like rollercoasters.â
âNeither does Jiminie, but he still came with us,â Jin pointed out.
âAnd he was horrified, by the sounds of it,â Aviva countered.
Jin nodded. âAnd it was hilarious.â
She whacked him on the arm. He laughed.
Album Photo Jacket Shoot, 2 Cool 4 Skool-April 27th 2013
Aviva didnât envy the boys, waking up early to get dressed multiple times to hold poses under bright flashing lights.
She did her best to work hard too, walking around with her camera, hoping to get some fun clips for a behind the scenes video. She held back a laugh as she filmed Yoongi, Jungkook, and Jimin all pronounce their image in the group shot the best.
âSuga-ssi is the most handsome,â Yoongi insisted. Aviva couldnât hold back her laughter anymore. Yoongi grinned at her.
âWell, who do you think looks the best, manager-noona?â Jimin wondered, pouting at her.
âYou all look good,â she said. They gave her disbelievingly looks.
âDonât be diplomatic, tell us the truth!â Jimin said.
âNo, really,â she said. âYou all have something good about you. Jungkookie does this cool thing with his eyes when he gets seriousâŚâ Jungkook blushed slightly, smiling. âJiminie, you somehow manage to perfectly blend âcuteâ and âsexyâ.â Jimin held his hands over his face, squeaking. âAnd Yoongi-yah⌠when you smile, I canât help but smile too.â
ââŚYouâre too fucking cheesy,â Yoongi muttered, also blushing.
âSo Iâve been toldâŚâ She sighed, glancing at her camera. âIâm definitely going to have to cut that last thirty seconds out.â
âWhat? Why?â Jimin uncovered his face. âI want all of our fans to hear you call me âcuteâ and âsexy.ââ
âNot going to happen,â she told him. âWhereâs Tae? I havenât got a shot of him yet.â
âI think he was getting his hair done,â Jimin told her.
Aviva got a shot of Hoseok laughing at Tae, who had somehow fallen asleep while he was getting his hair done. Hoseok then tried on his spiky mask for her, forcing her to hold back her laughter again.
Later, she asked Jin and Taehyung who they thought looked the best in the group shot, thinking itâd make a good follow up to the earlier clip she had filmed.
âHmm. Either Jiminie or Suga,â Jin said thoughtfully.
âI thought Hoseok-hyung was the coolest,â Tae said, smiling.
That night, Aviva and Jin cooked up a storm.
It took some convincing, but between the smell of the food, and Aviva reluctantly agreeing to watch Taehyungâs favorite horror flick, they all ended up on the couch, eating and watching.
Jimin and Hoseok were latched onto each other, jumping and screeching at every little thing. Taehyung and Jungkook teased them relentlessly. Namjoon and Yoongi snickered.
âItâs not just us!â Jimin huffed, crossing his arms. âJin-hyung and Avi-noona are jumpy too!â
âAvi-yah is worse!â Jin said. âSheâs shaking!â
âIt is scary,â she admitted. âBut also, Iâm coldâŚâ
âHere.â Yoongi wrapped his arm around her shoulders, pulling her against his side. âIâll keep you warm.â
Jimin snickered. âSo cool and sexy.â He wrapped his arm around Hoseokâs shoulders, wiggling his eyebrows. âIâll keep you warm~â
Everyone laughed except for Jin.
âSomebody get her a blanket or something,â he said.
âUmâŚâ Namjoon glanced around and then pulled up a black Obey hoodie from the back of the couch. Taehyung leaned over and sniffed it. Namjoon shot him an odd look.
âItâs clean,â Taehyung announced, giving him a thumbâs up. Namjoon shook his head, smiling as he tossed the hoodie at Aviva, hitting her in the face. He winced.
âSorry, Viva.â
âItâs okay.â She pulled it over her head.
âHmm, you always look cute in my clothes,â Hoseok said appreciatively. Yoongi frowned.
âBut thatâs my hoodie.â
âIsnât it mine?â Jungkook thought. The three of them looked at each other in confusion.
May 16th 2013
Aviva was working on editing promotional material in her office when Jimin suddenly came bursting in, dragging Hoseok with him.
âHobi-hyung hurt his knee!â Jimin said, plopping Hoseok down on her couch.
âAgain?â Aviva said, her brow furrowing.
âItâs the other knee,â Jimin told her. âLast week it was the left, this week itâs the right.â
âIâm fine,â Hoseok said, smiling easily at them.
âLet me see.â She came over and kneeled down in front of him, studying his bloodied knee. âHmmm. Doesnât seem too bad⌠let me just disinfect it and get you a Band-Aid. You want a Pokemon one?â
âYes!â
After she cleaned up his wound and applied the bandage, she noticed him looking expectantly at her. âWhat?â
âArenât you going to kiss it better?â He blinked innocently at her. She rolled her eyes.
âThatâs not very sanitary, Hobi.â Nevertheless, she pecked him on the forehead as she stood up. Jimin pouted.
âWhat about me?â He asked.
âAre you hurt too?â Aviva wondered. âI hope not.â
âIâm notâŚâ Jimin sighed.
âWell, weâd better get back to practice,â Hoseok thought, standing up, and squeezing Avivaâs shoulder before heading for the door. He glanced back at Jimin. âAre you coming?â
âAh⌠go on without me, I just want to talk to manager-noona for a minute.â
ââŚOkay,â Hoseok said, shooting Jimin a suspicious look as he left.
âWhatâs up, Jiminie?â Aviva said, sitting down on the couch and patting the spot next to her.
He chewed at his lip. âItâs Tae. Are we gonna announce him soon? You shouldâve seen how sad he was earlier when we filmed the group vlog without him⌠He was just standing in the corner, just out of the shotâŚâ He sighed.
âI think theyâll let us announce him by June at the earliest,â Aviva told him apologetically.
âOkay.â Jimin grimaced and stood up. âOh! There was one other thing.â
âYeah?â
âWhen we were reading the posts about our MV shoot coming up, one fan said she would make us lunchboxes.â
âI saw that in your vlog. Itâs sweet⌠but also kind of a security risk,â Aviva thought.
Jimin nodded.
âI thought youâd say that. So⌠you think you could make lunchboxes for us instead?â
Aviva smiled. âIâll see what I can do.â
This Chapter: Soda tries incredibly hard to ignore everything his heart is telling him by listening to his dick instead. Soda has a dream and goes shopping, Gundham makes him eat breakfast.
_____________________
Soda felt like his chest was going to burst. He felt like he was going to throw-up.
He unclasped his hand from Gundhamâs.
âH-hey, we should probably clean up and head back.â He couldnât look at him. He pulled up his shorts and stood.
He picked up the bowl. His heart wouldnât stop hammering.
He stood frozen there, holding the bowl and taking deep unsteady breaths.
A hand on his shoulder. He flinched.
âKazuichi?â Gundham sounded concerned. Genuinely concerned.
About him.
âIâm good dude. Letâs just⌠go back.â Shit, he was being rude. He looked up at Gundham and forced a smile âI mean, youâve been up since yesterday right? Donât wanna push youâŚâ
Gundham smiled softly. Soda felt happy. Soda felt disgusted.
âI slumbered while you were at the beach with our companions.â Gundham took a step towards him. âI have more than enough energy for the rest of the night.â A hand on his hip. Soda looked away. âYou, however, seem somewhat⌠drained. Let us retire then.â
Soda watched as Gundham retrieved his towel. He wanted to hold him. He wanted to be held.
They returned to the hotel grounds.
Soda wanted to be alone.
When he turned to goodbye to Gundham, he found him, once again, standing so, so close.
Gundham raised a hand to his face and stroked his cheek. âSleep well, my paramour.â He lifted Sodaâs hand and kissed his knuckles once more.
Gundham smiled softly and left.
Soda didnât want to be alone.
He closed the door behind him as he walked into his cabin and slid to the ground.
He lifted his hand to his mouth as he thought of Gundhamâs. His lips so soft and gentle on his knuckles, warm and tender on his neck, sly and teasing on his chest, and wet and hot on his cock.
He was getting turned on again.
Soda sighed and dragged himself to bed.
He fell into a fitful sleep wondering what those lips would feel like on his own.
â
He felt like he was floating. His body was hot, and he was so god damned turned on.
Gundhamâs hands were hot on his hips, pulling him close and holding him still. Soda thought he was whispering something into his ear, but he couldnât be sure. He couldnât hear over his own cries of Gundhamâs name.
Soda could feel Gundhamâs body sliding against his own as he thrust into him.
He didnât know what it felt like. It felt amazing. He checked the window of the beach house to make sure no one was watching.
Gundham was kissing his neck the way he had been on the beach, biting now and then and making Soda gasp. His thrusts were slow and shallow, hardly pulling his hips away from Sodas ass before pressing them flush again.
Soda might have been crying, he didnât really know. His chest felt tight. He wanted to kiss Gundham.
Gundhamâs lips were soft, gentle. Loving.
Soda wasnât sure if he wanted that.
The lips on his were hot, and soon they were joined by an equally hot tongue.
The sand was cold.
Gundham fucked into him faster and bit his lip. Soda felt amazing. Soda felt guilty. He let the guilt be washed away by Gundham relentlessly pounding into him.
He knew he was crying. He felt so good. He felt awful.
âDonât stop! Donât leave!â
Gundham kissed his knuckles.
Soda woke up.
â
He was in his bed in his cabin, not in the beach house and not on the beach. And he was alone.
His heart was racing, and his dick was hard.
Jesus.
He sat up, put his head in his hands and tried to stop thinking about his dream. Heâd had all kinds of sexy dreams before, heâd woken up hard nearly as many times as he had woken up with a sticky mess in his pants. Hell, this wasnât even the first time he had dreamt of a guy.
But heâd never woken up feeling so rattled.
His heart was still hammering away in his chest as he tried to make sense of that.
It couldnât have been the kissing, he usually kissed the people he fucked in his dreams soâŚ
His thoughts filled with the fading images of Gundham fucking him, his dick took interested, he remembered the feeling of Gundhamâs lips, and his heart beat impossibly faster.
Oh.
It must have been the whole getting fucked thing. Had he dreamt of that before? Probably not right?
Soda exhaled shakily. Yeah, it was definitely the thought of getting fucked that was affecting him so much. His brain was getting caught up on it because he had no frame of reference for it, he had never had a dick or anything in his ass, duh, so he was just shaken up cus like, uh-
What would it feel like to have something in his ass? It was really good in his dream, but there was no way if would feel that way for real.
Right?
Fuck.
He couldnât stop thinking about it. Maybe it really did feel amazing, there were lots of people who were, like, super into anal, so at the very least it couldnât be bad. Plus, that was where the G-spot was supposed to be on dudes, right? SoâŚ
He was going to need lube if he actually wanted to try this. He glanced over to a toolbox that he knew had a bottle of oil inside it. That would probably work.
But what if it didnât? What if he got, like, oil-poisoning and had to explain to some doctor why exactly he had been putting it up his ass.
âWell ya see doc, I had a dream about this really hot dude and-â
Nope. That was not fucking happening.
The supermarket here had condoms; he had been checking the place out on the first day they had arrived, and had totally not felt flustered at all when he saw them just casually sitting in one of the aisles. He didnât need condoms (shit, did he need condoms?) but if they had lube, thatâs probably where itâd be, right?
He glanced at the clock. Everyone would be eating breakfast right now. If he wanted to do this without getting caught, he had to do it now.
He got dressed and hid his boner as best he could, promising his dick if it could just chill for now, heâd be sure to give it plenty of attention later. The thought did not help his dick chill. Whatever.
He stepped out of his cabin and looked around in a totally unsuspicious way to make sure none of his classmates were around before heading for the supermarket.
â
How had he even made it this far? He knew his face was bright red as he stared at the little shelf where he had seen the condoms on the first day. Yup, still lots of condoms. He couldnât help but gawk at a box labeled âXXXLâ, and remember that Gundham was, in fact, quite well hung.
But XXXL? That had to be a joke, right? No one had a XXXL dick, right? Right?
Focus dumbass.
He shifted his gaze to the selection of lube. There were more options than he thought. Really, he had kinda just pictured there being one generic looking bottle labeled âlubeâ that he could just grab and leave, but no, apparently there were options.
He fucking choked when he saw that one was banana flavored.
Well, at least that gets rid of one option. He quickly scanned them and ruled out anything with a flavor or an obnoxious color and settled on one that seemed pretty inconspicuous.
Like, it still said âPersonal Lubricantâ in big ass letters across the bottle, but whatever.
He grabbed a pack on non-XXXL condoms for good measure and exited the aisle.
âHm? Soda?â
This creepy fucking guy again.
Soda shoved the condoms in his pocket and moved to hide the lube behind his back in a totally subtle way.
âOh whatâs this?â Nagito reached out and plucked the lube from Sodaâs hand. âOh my. Could this have anything to do with what I overheard last night?â Nagitoâs face was neutral and friendly, but there was definitely something weird in his eyes.
Shit. Right, Nagito had overheard him offering to âaidâ Gundham. Had he really figured out what that meant so easily? No way. It was probably just a lucky guess, which meant Soda could still get out of this situation by lying his ass off.
âW-what? No idea what youâre talkinâ bout dude.â Totally believable. He was a pro at lying. âJust needed some lubricant for the, uh, thing Iâm working on. Like, obviously this isnât the type Iâd usually use, but they donât have a, like, automotive section here or anything so I figured this would probably work well enough.â That should be convincing enough, Nagito probably didnât know shit about what Soda did so thereâs no way he could know for sure if he was lying. He forced a laugh and took the lube from Nagitoâs hands. âAnyways, gotta get back to it.â He shot Nagito some finger guns and pushed past him to leave.
He was sure he was just being paranoid and imagining things when he heard Nagito mumble something that sounded like âGundhamâ before laughing creepily behind him.
Fuuuck.
He ran back to his cabin. If anyone saw heâd just make up an excuse later. There was literally no way Nagito could actually know what him and Gundham had been doing, right? He must have just been fucking with him, thatâs what that guy was all about. He was just looking to get a rise out of Soda by saying weird shit.
Right?
Soda set the lube on his side table and laid facedown on his bed. Shit. Why had Nagito even been at the supermarket? Everyone should have been at breakfast still. Had Nagito been looking for him? No way. There were only like two people who might have cared that much that he missed breakfast: Hajime andâŚ
He turned his head to stare at the lube.
This was all Gundhamâs fault. Stupid, sexy Gundham, making him have stupid, sexy dreams, and giving him stupid, sexy thoughts.
He thought about Gundhamâs cock in his ass. He thought about Gundhamâs lips on his.
He reached for the lube.
There was a knock on the door.
His heart jumped and he stood up.
âY-yeah, one second.â He adjusted his dick, which was thankfully only at half-mast, and answered the door.
Speak of the stupid, sexy devil.
âIs everything well, my companion? You were absent from this mornings meal, and I feared you had caught ill.â Gundham gently placed the back of his hand on Sodaâs, admittedly heated, forehead.
âO-oh, nah, Iâm good. I just needed- uh, I went to the supermarket to get- like, I just needed⌠stuff. Mechanic stuff. Cus Iâm a mechanic. Ha.â Smooth. âAnyway, I guess I just, uh, forgot about breakfast?â
Gundham squinted at Soda and examined his face for a moment.
âWas your slumber troubled? You have the markings of one whoâs rest was interrupted.â
Great, he must be rocking some pretty serious eyebags if Gundham was so concerned.
âAh, itâs nothing. Just one of those nights, yâknow?â One of those nights where you dream about your bro kissing you and fucking you senseless, yâknow? One of those nights where you wake up so damn affected by the thought of your friend plowing your ass that you need to immediately go buy some lube and test out the real thing ASAP, yâknow?
Yup, just one of those totally normal nights.
Speaking of, Soda remembered that the lube was still sitting on his side table, entirely visible from the door. Better get Gundham out of here before he noticesâŚ
Or?
âIf you were not suffering from some affliction then you should have joined us to break your fast. It is important for mortals-â
Gundham was lecturing him about the importance of breakfast. But Soda was too busy watching his lips to listen. Or at least he was, until Gundham began accentuating his speech with flourishes of his hands and Soda found a new place to focus his attention.
Gundhamâs fingers were slender and long, and, from what Soda could remember, they were strong. Maybe he could just⌠ask Gundham to help him figure out the whole âdoes it actually feel good to have stuff in your assâ thing. Heâd probably do it right? Heâd probably be more than happy to help Soda out with those wonderful fingers of his, and heâd probably enjoy it just as much as Soda wouldâŚ
But what if Soda didnât like it? Like what if he created this whole sexy mood and then once things started getting hot and heavy he just, like, wasnât into it? Would Gundham get mad? If Soda asked him to stick his fingers in his ass, then Gundham would probably⌠god, heâd probably assume that meant they were gonna fuck after, so if Soda changed his mind, he wouldnât even blame Gundham for getting pissed. You canât just blue-ball a guy like that and expect him to be okay with itâŚ
Ok, so he should probably just keep the lube for a solo session.
He forced himself to focus on what Gundham was saying again. Still talking about breakfast, good.
âOkay, okay. I get it Gundham.â He raised his hands in defeat. âLetâs go get me some breakfast before I die of no-breakfast-itis or whatever.â
Gundham looked like he was debating calling Soda out for obviously not listening to whatever he had been saying about the importance of breakfast. He simply followed Soda to the hotel restaurant instead.
It felt a little weird to find the restaurant empty. Soda never really came here outside of the groupâs regular meal times, so he was used to it being full of activity and noise. Now it was so quiet he could hear the ocean waves in the distance, and he thought to himself that it actually wouldnât be a bad place to take a girl on a date.
Soda found some cereal and a bagel to eat, then took his spot at the big table they all normally ate at. Gundham took his seat beside him as usual. Wait, was it as usual? Did they usually sit this close? Gundhamâs knee was touching his. Nope, pretty sure that was new.
Gundham began talking about the Devaâs. Soda thought he caught something about how Jum-P was doing well, and he was pretty sure he managed to say he was glad, but mostly he was just certain that he really liked the hand Gundham had rested on his lower back.
He was smiling while eating, and he had to actively remind himself to close his mouth all the way while he chewed. He watched Gundham between bites of his breakfast. He looked happy as well.
Soda let himself enjoy his surprisingly good mood, he felt like he had been stressing so much lately. What had he even been so worked up about? Sitting like this, chatting about nothing with Gundhamâs arm around him, just felt nice. He felt calm. He felt happy.
He laughed at something Gundham said and bumped his head against his shoulder, letting himself just stay there for a moment. He wrapped an arm around Gundhamâs back and gave a little squeeze, sighing and just taking a moment, before laughing again as he returned to his previous position to finish eating.
That had felt so nice. Why didnât he hug his friends more? He looked to Gundham to make sure it hadnât weirded him out or anything. He was rewarded with one of those soft little smiles he loved so much, proving his friend had enjoyed it just as much.
Gundham⌠was his friend, right?
His thoughts were interrupted by the sound of someone coming up the stairs.
It felt like a bubble popped. Suddenly his stomach dropped, and he moved his knee away from Gundhamâs. He shifted his shoulders and Gundham seemed to get the hint, removing that warm hand from his back.
Soda told himself he was glad.
âAh, so this is where you were Gundham!â
That was⌠Sonia. Soda heart did about six different things at once and he couldnât tell if he was more excited, scared, or disappointed to see her.
âHi Sonia.â
âGreetings, dark queen.â
He sounded so pathetic next to Gundham, no wonder Sonia ignored him.
âGundham, I wanted to ask you about a creature I saw earlier.â Sonia sat across from them and began to describe some animal. Sodaâs head just filled with static.
He stared at her, still so lovely, still so perfect, and yet, looking at her didnât make him feel the way it used to. He watched her ignore him and he could feel his heart breaking. Of course she had never like him, what did he have to offer someone like her?
What did he have to offer anyone?
He was just some stupid mechanic. His grades were below average, and his family was poor. He wasnât even attractive or funny or anything. He was just a waste of space, he really couldnât blame Sonia for ignoring him. Everyone should probably just ignore him. No one actually cared about him. He should just-
There was a warm hand on his shoulder. Gundham was looking at him questioningly.
âW-what?â
âI was asking your opinion, dear friend, the dark queen and I were discussing how enjoyable our trip has been thus far. Do you feel the same?â
Gundham smiled at him, but there was a bit of concern in his eyes.
Right.
Some people did care about him.
Sonia not caring didnât mean no one did.
Sonia wasnât everything.
He opened his mouth to tell Gundham that, yeah, despite how confused and anxious he had been recently, he did feel the same.
âSoda, it is impolite not to answer someone when they ask you a question. You even made Gundham repeat himself, yet you are still ignoring him. You should apologize for being so rude.â
Something snapped in Soda and he could feel his face turn red.
Sonia wanted him to apologize for ignoring someone?
He stood abruptly and didnât look at either of them. He was shaking with how hard he was trying not to shout. He just swallowed and turned from the table.
âMy companion?â Gundham sounded worried now. Soda felt kinda guilty about it, but he just needed to get away before he said something stupid.
âSorry.â He muttered as he moved towards the stairs.
He knew he heard Sonia say something about him having no manners as he left.
He just walked a little faster. He kept his eyes focused on the ground and his fists clenched all the way back to his cabin.
He though he would yell when he got there. Yell and maybe break something heâd regret ruining later. But once he closed the door, he just felt tired and sad. He crouched down and pushed the heels of his palms into his eyes to stop himself from crying.
Yeah, it didnât work.
He was sobbing. Crying alone in his room like a pussy, but he could hardly bring himself to care. Why did he even like Sonia? And why did she have to treat him like such shit? It wasnât like he was actually rude to her, right? Like, sure, sometimes he stared more than he probably should, but was that really so bad? Wasnât that actually like a compliment? Girls loved guys obsessing over how hot they-
Oh.
Soda was an asshole. Of course Sonia hated him. He was just constantly, like, leering at her, wasnât he? And he was always following her around when she obviously didnât want him there, and trying to insert himself into her conversations. He just never took the hint that she didnât like him, huh? No wonder she had just started ignoring him completely.
Shit. He needed to apologize to her. And then he needed to just⌠leave her alone. She probably wouldnât ever like him, but maybe if he left her alone long enough?
No. If he kept thinking like that then heâd probably just piss her off even more.
Still, it wasnât like she had to treat Soda so badly. Like, she could have just told him off instead, it would have hurt less.
Ok, well, in her defense, confronting someone like that was pretty hard, so really, it was probably entirely Sodaâs fault for not realizing what a jackass he was being earlier.
He let out a deep, shaky breath, and was surprised to find he actually felt a little better.
Huh. He didnât think admitting he had been wrong would have felt so⌠relieving?
He got up and sat on hid bed so he could stop crouching in the middle of his room like a crazy person. He rubbed the dried tears from his cheeks and let himself just breathe for a while. It wasnât like he was over Sonia, but he was ready to accept that it probably wouldnât have been the best relationship for either of themâŚ
It was probably thanks to Gundham that he was finally able to realize that. Now that he wasnât so damn sexually frustrated, he was finally able to see things a little more clearly. Well, maybe it wasnât just the sex that had helped. He thought back to the way he had felt before Sonia had shown up to crash his breakfast with Gundham. Gundham just made him feel like⌠like maybe he wasnât the failure everyone thought he was.
But the sex was pretty damn good too, even if it wasnât, like, sex sexâŚ
Soda glanced at the bottle that was still sitting on his side table.
Isn't It ClichĂŠ? Chapter 2
Read chapter one here or on Ao3
Pairing: DaiSuga (Haikyuu!!)
Word Count: 2627
Warnings: very brief mention of alcohol and drug consumption, but nothing explicit
A/N: sorry for the late update, I know I said I would update regularly but life got in the way ÂŻ\_(ă)_/ÂŻ I hope you enjoy this chapter!
The university building was huge, way bigger than his old one. Students were chattering away around him, some of them already deep into writing papers, exchanging notes, and sipping coffee. He missed this exact feeling of uni during break. He hadnât had too many assignments due to his transfer, and the ones he did have were easy tasks, so he had the entire summer to do whatever he wanted, which was odd to him since he was so used to either working or revising during break.
He took out his timetable he thankfully remembered to print a few weeks prior, making his way to the classroom in which his first-class would take place.
âOh, hi!â He heard a somewhat familiar voice call from behind him. He turned around to see who was talking. He was faced with a man he met on orientation day, whose name he had promptly forgotten. His hair was black and gelled up to the extreme, making him look like a rooster with some bedhead.
âSugawara, right?â He asked, flashing him a toothy grin. âWe met at orientation, Iâm Kuroo Tetsurou.â Suga nodded, remembering how he charmed every single person at orientation. He had originally gone to welcome the newcomers since he was a second year, but once Suga said he was transferring and found out that he also studied Japanese Studies, Kuroo happily obliged to answer any questions about the university he might have.
âAh yeah, apologies for forgetting your name, I wonât forget it again,â Suga said as he shook Kurooâs hand in greeting.
âThatâs absolutely fine, man. I understand itâs not easy to remember everything and everyone when moving into a new city. Itâs cool that youâre studying Japanese Studies as well though! If youâre up for it, me and a couple other people are grabbing lunch later and youâre more than welcome to join!â Suga gladly accepted the invitation, feeling oddly reassured that someone as confident as Kuroo basically just took him in like that. He mustâve looked really lost.
The morning passed quite quickly, Suga only got lost once between classes, but everyone at the university was just so helpful and kind that it wasnât that big of an issue. At lunchtime, he met Kuroo and his three friends at the bottom of the main stairs, smiling nervously at the strangers as Kuroo introduced them. The one whose hair probably had more gel in it than Kuroo was named Bokuto Koutarou, who was more than excited to meet Suga. The other two were calmer at greeting him, the shorter one with dark hair introduced himself as Akaashi Keiji, and the tall blonde quietly introduced himself as Tsukishima Kei. The conversation came almost naturally to them all as they made their way to the cafeteria, and Suga was thankful for how they did their best to include him in their conversations. Suga quickly noticed that Bokuto and Akaashi were closest and were most probably friends since at least middle school with how they spoke to and acted around each other, but everyone seemed to tease Bokuto relentlessly, reminding Suga of his own best friend. He should definitely send Asahi a text after lunch to see how he was holding up.
Suga quickly felt integrated into the friend group, cracking jokes with the rest of them as they ate the somewhat disgusting cafeteria food.
âThis university is so fancy and expensive, canât they at least make decent food?â Kuroo quipped, making the others nod in agreement.
âYouâve been saying that since last year. Besides, itâs better than whatever you can cook, Kuroo.â Tsukishima replied in a drawl, sounding almost bored.
âThatâs not very nice of you, Tsukki-poo. I mean youâre not wrong but you shouldnât say it.â Kuroo answered nonchalantly, ignoring the face of discomfort he made at the nickname.
âSo Suga, why did you decide to move to Tokyo?â Akaashi asked, and suddenly everyone fell quiet, watching their new friend with intent.
âI didnât like my old university, and I always wanted to move to Tokyo, so I figured why not,â Suga answered, trying to seem unfazed.
âWhy didnât you move for your first year then?â Bokuto asked, his eyes big and focussed intensely on Suga.
âAh, well⌠My ex wanted me to stay close to our hometown, so I enrolled in our local university. We had a pretty bad breakup though so I was excited to move away.â He consciously left any pronouns out of the conversation, not ready to come out to his newfound friends, just in case. He grimaced at recalling the way he found out his ex-boyfriend was cheating on him and had been for two months before their breakup. After he had found out, he couldnât get out of his hometown quicker.
âAh. Makes sense. Oh well, there are lots of people here that we can hook you up with if you want.â Kuroo said in what Suga assumed to be a joke, but he thanked him for the offer anyway.
âAh itâs fine, Iâm not big on dating yet, my ex kinda messed me up, and I donât know how I feel about one-night stands just yet.â The others nodded, understanding that he was done talking about it.
âWell, weâre all going to Kurooâs house party he and his roommates are throwing at the end of the week, sort of like a beginning of the semester party. Youâre very welcome to join us if you like!â Bokuto chimed in, to which Suga gladly agreed. He needed to check his schedule but getting drunk and/or high at university parties was something he desperately missed during the summer holidays.
After lunch, everyone went their separate ways, and Kuroo promised to text Suga the details of the party the day of. Before his last class of the day started, he sent Asahi a quick text, asking how he was holding up. He got a thumbs-up emoji back, meaning that he was surviving the day. Sugawara smiled as he put his phone back into his pocket and went into the classroom.
âŚ
The day was over a lot quicker than Suga had anticipated, and he sent Asahi a text as he made his way back home.
Home in 20, give me a call if you feel like it!
He threw his coat and bag on the couch as he went into the kitchen to make a coffee. There was nothing Suga loved more than a cup of coffee after a long day. His ex often commented on how bad his caffeine addiction had gotten during his time at uni but he wasnât in the picture anymore so why should he care? As he was waiting for Asahi to call, he sat by the window in his living room/bedroom, watching civilians pass by as he quietly sipped his coffee. The street he lived in was pretty busy, cars were always driving by and there were always people to observe. Suga loved watching the people crossing the street or running to the subway, were it businessmen, or parents with their children, trying to urge them from one side of the street to the other. Just as he was watching a mother on the phone, trying to get her kidâs attention who was attempting to run across the street when the light was red, his train of thought was interrupted by his phone buzzing.
âHey Asahi,â he said after he swiped the screen of his phone to accept Asahiâs FaceTime call.
âSo? How was your first day?â He asked excitedly, sipping his coffee and leaning against the window.
âIt was so cool! The people were really nice and Iâm going out for drinks with a few people later tonight!â Asahi sounded a lot more confident than the day before, which made Sugaâs heart swell with pride. His best friend was never the best when it came to meeting new people, always worried that people would see him as a threat or too intimidating. His height and broad build were definitely assets to that, but his heart was so pure it was almost impossible not to love the man.
âDid you meet any cool fashionable people then?â Suga asked, which prompted Asahi to tell him all about his day and everyone he had met. Suga listened intently to his best friendâs words, not wanting to miss a single minute of what happened during his first day.
âAh, Iâm rambling again. How was your day?â Asahi asked after speaking for a while, and Suga couldnât help but smile. Asahi always felt ashamed and somehow shy when he âtalked too much,â even though Suga loved nothing more than to listen to whatever Asahi was passionate about. Asahi also knew this to some extent, but he still seemed to feel bad whenever he spoke for more than one minute at a time, thinking it was selfish of him, at least thatâs what Asahi had told Suga when he asked his best friend about it.
âAh no, itâs fine! I like hearing you talk. Besides, it was your first day of uni! Thatâs exciting! My day was good, I met a few new people and weâre also going to this party on Friday, so Iâm looking forward to that!â Suga continued to tell Asahi about his day, in turn, making sure to not leave out any details. He really enjoyed these FaceTime calls with Asahi, something they decided to do more when Asahi was traveling with Nishinoya before he came back home to study and they couldnât see each other as often as they were used to.
âSo yeah, thatâs about it from my end. I have work again after class tomorrow afternoon so Iâll probably not be on my phone too much, just so you know!â
âOk, notedâ Asahi answered, before continuing talking about random things.
âOh by the way, Yuu said heâll come back home in a few weeks!â Asahi said, his eyes practically shining in excitement. Suga grinned at that, knowing that maybe it might be a little less than that. Noya had wanted to surprise Asahi by coming back from his travels this week, two weeks earlier than planned and only Suga knew about it.
Noya had been traveling Europe for five months now, and although Asahi had joined him in the first month, he had to go home and work in order to afford uni and his apartment, which bummed Asahi out greatly. He and Noya had the most wholesome relationship in Sugaâs opinion. Neither could live without the other, so long-distance kinda sucked for the both of them.
Asahi and Nishinoya were the classic âbest friends that had feelings for each other since forever but never acted on itâ until one day Suga had enough of the bullshit and made them confess to one another. At least thatâs how Asahi and Noya put it, Suga thought of it as more of a ânot-so-subtly locking them in a room until they confessedâ sort of situation. Not his most graceful moment, he must admit, but they had been together for a year now and were completely and utterly in love with each other, it was cute but sickening to watch as a single person. Pushing the thought away, Suga grinned at the camera, nodding enthusiastically.
âIâm excited for you! I might try to come to visit for a weekend once Noyaâs back, we can have a movie marathon weekend like we used to in high school,â Suga suggested and Asahi was practically glowing with excitement. The rest of the conversation was about Noya and his adventures in Europe until Asahi had to get ready for his night out with the new people he met at uni.
Suga decided to spend the night in a YouTube deep dive until he passed out, which was always a bad idea but at least he remembered to set an alarm this time.
Just as he had anticipated, he woke up extremely confused to his alarm, not remembering when he fell asleep. His laptop had since turned off due to lack of charging, but he had no time to care about that now, because he wanted to get to uni on time and he needed to remember to take his work clothes with him, so he tried to get out of bed at least half an hour before he had to leave. He was in a bad mood, probably due to his YouTube deep dive last night, and he couldnât wait to go back to bed the second he had to leave the warm and safe confines of his sheets. He got dressed in a hurry, realising he only had ten minutes before he had to leave.
The morning was rather uneventful, and Suga did his best to seem as chipper as he had been the day before, despite his foul mood. Kuroo had invited him to lunch again, but he declined with a smile and an apology. He knew he would have to go to work at 1 pm and there would be no time for him to eat in the cafeteria. Suga appreciated Kurooâs kindness and understanding as he turned away to listen to the professor, leaving Suga to his notes. He decided to eat his lunch in the break room at work before his shift started in order to ensure he would be on time.
That day he worked the orders, and since it was a weekday before 4 pm, he was left with one other coworker who was taking orders. He hadnât met this colleague before but he seemed very intense and focused on his work. He had introduced himself earlier that afternoon as Kageyama Tobio and promptly walked off to start his shift. Suga wasnât phased though, knowing that he probably had trouble opening up to people, so he decided to not overwhelm him with conversation. They worked surprisingly well together and Suga enjoyed working quietly, listening to the playlist that was playing that day. Sometimes heâd listen in to other peopleâs fleeting conversations as they waited for their orders, the snippets he caught always entertained him as he wondered what the rest of the conversation was about. He knew that that was probably not appropriate but he was too curious about other peopleâs lives not to eavesdrop. Right before 4 pm, another coworker joined him and Kageyama, introducing himself as Ennoshita Chikara. He seemed like an effective and good worker, and Suga wished he had more time to get acquainted with him but unfortunately, rush hour had started so they were too busy making orders. He had an inkling that he and Ennoshita would get along pretty well though, so he made sure he would talk to the man more when they had another shift together.
Even though Suga had a 6-hour shift, the afternoon went by in a blur and he didnât notice how much his back ached from being on his feet non-stop during that time until he arrived at his apartment. He decided to put off homework until he had his bath and some dinner, truly exhausted from his day. He checked his phone as the water poured into the tub, texting Asahi that he was alright and that he would call after his classes the next day, too tired to keep a conversation tonight. He doubted whether or not he would be able to do his homework that night, but he figured he could just do it the next day instead, so he sunk into the hot water wondering what kind of tv show he wanted to watch before bed. He deserved some self-care as well from time to time even if that self-care took the form of eating instant ramen and watching Netflix.
Feb 2026
âWakey, wakey rise and shine my ladyâ
âmmmmm what?
Emily stirred as Keanu set a tray down on the dressing table.
âBreakfast time â I think you need a nourishing start for this big day donât you?â
âOh my god!â she groaned as she remembered, in her drowsy state, what day it was. It was the Oscars Ceremony that night and her screenplay for a film made the year before had been nominated for Best Original Screenplay.  The whole situation was surreal and sheâd be doing the whole âget ready and promotionâ hoopla for the first time as the main player of the family as opposed to the wife of the main event. Keanu was loving it, teasing her relentlessly during the prior few weeks when she went to do press and he was left home with the kids, who were now 4 ½ and 3 ½ .  They were at one and the same time a handful and a delight. Â
It was a Sunday and right now, they were currently watching TV downstairs and Maria, still their nanny on a part time basis, was watching them. Â She was here for the day so the two of them could attend the ceremony and it was a treat to have time to enjoy breakfast alone when usually at least one of them would be up at 7 and theyâd all be up eating pancakes by 8. Typically there were no lazy Sundays as they would usually go out after breakfast to have some outdoors time, get the kids enjoying fresh air and expending some of their boundless energy.
Keanu and Emily tucked into granola with super cold milk (he always insisted on that!) and then some coffee and a pain au chocolat before snuggling back under the covers.
âThanks so much for that - Â a luxury start to a big day but I should go down and see the kidsâ
âoh no you donât, not yet. Maria is in full control and I want to keep you to myself a bit longer!â
âOh yeah what do have in mind mister?â
âI might just want to make love to my Oscar nominated wife one more time before she becomes my Oscar winning wifeâ
âOh come on, Iâm not gonna win, Iâm up against Mike Leigh and Guillermo del Torro for godâs sakeâ
âDoesnât matter who they are, itâs what you wrote that will win it for youâ
âAhh well thanks for the vote of confidence but Iâm just amazed to be nominated even - so what will be will be âŚâŚâŚâŚâŚ..anyway, about that love makingâŚâŚâŚâ she purred, rubbing his cock with the palm of her hand through the lounge pants he had worn to go downstairsâ
He responded with a low moan and pulled her to him for a kiss âmmmmm you still taste all chocolatey, got anything else sweet for me?â
He didnât wait for an answer, sliding down under the covers, rubbing her breasts through her nightshirt and sliding it up as he went, exposing her stomach as he did. She laid her head back on the pillow as she felt his lips on her belly then his warm hands wiggle their way underneath her to grasp her ass. He teased her for a few moments, kissing the tops of her thighs then just blowing softly over her mound making her cry out in need of him. Finally, he obliged, sticking out his tongue and probing up inside her.
âso ruby red and sweet as nectarâ he muttered before engulfing her pussy  with his mouth and starting a pattern of steady circling and sucking of the hood of her clit, flicking the nub itself  then licking the lips and probing up inside her vagina. He was patience personified, taking it slow and letting her get close then easing down momentarily â he loved the build up.
She had started to claw at the sheets as she neared orgasm when he suddenly stopped and knelt up in front of her making her gasp in her unfulfilled need. He looked at her mischievously as she lay, pink colour spreading across her chest and cheeks then put two of his long fingers in his mouth to wet them before smiling and laying down again.
She cried out as she felt those two fingers slide inside her and his mouth latch onto his target once more. He groaned as he felt the juices increasing as he pumped slowly in and out, gradually curling his fingers up to press into her g spot. Her hips pressed up rhythmically towards his waiting mouth and one hand grasped his head and held him to his task. Feeling her clitoris reach peak hardness, he pumped faster and harder with his fingers and she let out a load squeal at the intense release followed by a long low moan. Keanuâs ministrations turned gentle as he eased her down before he sat up, a broad grin on his wet face which she hardly registered as she lay recovering.
He wasnât about to let her have too long to recover though , so great was his need by this point and she soon found herself pulled towards him, her butt pressing against his thighs while he played with her breasts with one hand and grasped his thick shaft with the other.
âIâm sorry, I just canât wait to have youâ he muttered, laying down against her and nibbling on her neck as his cock made its presence felt between her legs. Despite his pressing need, he took it gently. Her pussy was still tight and contracting after her orgasm so he pushed in inch by inch to allow her to relax and take him.
âOne last piece of loving mrs nomineeâ he grunted out, pushing his whole length inside at last, making her quiver against him. âYou OK?â
âGod yes, just take me nowâ
Her words inflamed him and he lifted up on extended arms, pulling almost all the way out before each thrust filled and thrilled her. Just as he had with her first orgasm, he knew how to orchestrate this performance too, pumping slow and steady at first, beginning to angle his cock to rub her g spot, then waiting, waiting to feel the gentle fluttering in her vagina that signalled she was on the verge of coming. Only then did he pump faster and harder, thrilling to the sensations of her hands clawing at his back, her pussy pulsing around him, her cries growing louder and his own orgasm crashing his senses, blinding him in a wave of pleasure.
Afterwards, he laid down against her, resting on his elbows and kissing her neck as she stroked his back for a while. Eventually he rolled off her and they lay quietly together, with only the sound of the air conditioning  in the background.
âAre we getting better at that?â he asked jokingly.
âmmm you are!â she grinned â I just lay back and enjoyed!â
ânaah takes two to tango!â
âWell all I know is, if I donât win anything tonight, Iâve still won the best prize being married to youâ
âAre you saying you just want me for the sex?!â
âPreciselyâ she laughed, grabbing his butt âyouâre just my own personal himboâ
They lay giggling and snuggling a little while longer then got up to spend time with the kids before they had to head downtown. They would be dressed by a stylist at a hotel and Emily had some pre red carpet interviews to do alongside the cast and director of the movie of her screenplay. Keanu himself was due to present  - fortunately not for her award and he would be done and back sitting beside her when it came time for her award to be announced.
The crowds lining the red carpet were noisy and enthusiastic and Keanu took pride of place next to Emily when Ryan Seacrest invited them up to say a few words.
âand how do you feel about playing second fiddle to your wife today Keanu?â
Emily blushed and he launched into their favourite awards day saying:
âWell, it makes a refreshing change to let her step into the limelight that Iâve been hogging since we met and of course Iâm proud, happy and thrilled that she got nominated for her amazing writing. Itâs thoroughly well deservedâ
âand did you draw on your personal life to inform the characters?â Ryan asked with a cheeky grin. The screenplay was about a man who enticed a high class escort to fall in love with then carry out a murder for him!
Emily laughed along with both Ryan and Keanu who was covering his mouth with his hand as usual.
âDefinitely not â I have a very vivid imagination. And nothing could be further from our lives right now with a 3 and a 4 year old running us ragged most of the time!â
âand will they be at home watching right now?â
âMaybeâ Keanu said âbut they donât find mom and dad in fancy clothes that interesting so theyâre  more likely to be out in the garden playing if I had to guess!â
âWell give them a wave just in case and good luck tonight Emily and good luck with the presenting gig Keanuâ
âThey each waved at the camera and moved on letting the next guest take their place with Ryan.
They headed to the large reception area, meeting with friends and colleagues along the way to chat and exchange âgood lucksâ. The pre-amble always took ages, Keanu had warned her and Emilyâs feet were aching by the time they finally sat down for the prestigious ceremony to begin.
Keanu pointed out the camera positions to her and they joked about the gracious face sheâd need to adopt in the event of losing. Several awards came and went before he had to leave to present the Best Supporting Actor award. Emily was sure the cameras swung onto her as he presented though she couldnât be sure. That was OK by her - she knew she simply had a proud expression all over her face. She was definitely more worried about the moment coming up when they would definitely zoom in on her. Keanu made his way back to her after a couple more awards which left just one more to come before her moment in the spotlight.
The nominees were announced and Keanu squeezed her hand as her name was announced, knowing how nervous and exposed she felt. They played clips from each nominated film after that which gave her a few minutes to gather herself for the big reveal.
The presenters were George Clooney and Emily Blunt whoâd co-starred in a film the previous year which was also up for an award. Keanu had teased that Emily only wanted to win because George would kiss her cheek if she did. She had been a fan of his ever since ER in the 90s!
As Emily was opening the envelope, she held Keanuâs hand in a tight grip.
â⌠and the winner is âŚâŚâŚ Emily Reevesâ
Keanu leapt up cheering and grabbed her hand to make her stand. He hugged her close and whispered in her ear.
âNow go get your kiss from George! You did it, youâre amazing!â
She kissed him back, simply stunned to have won and rooted to the spot for a moment
âgo goâ he laughed and she finally let go of his hand to make her way to the stage.
Fear gripped her as she kissed the cheeks of both Emily and George before taking the award from George with shaking hands. âimagine everyone nakedâ she reminded herself as she stood behind the podium and looked at the sea of faces.
âIâll keep it shortâ she said âI know thatâs an unusual promise from a writer but I think I can safely say, my husband is more cut out for this limelight business! So thank you Academy for this great honour thank you to the team who brought my screenplay to life in such an amazing, entertaining way and thanks of course to Keanu for making it possible for me to find time amidst raising our young family, to write again. There was a time when I thought I would never come up for air from breast-feeding and diapers but together weâve made it work, heâs been my biggest cheerleader in this process even though he knew Iâd get to kiss my hero âDoug Rossâ if I won!â
The audience laughed and the camera swung to Keanu chuckling behind his hand as she said this and then to George laughing too.
She rounded off her speech quickly after that.
âSo thank you again Academy for this great honour and for making the dream of teenaged me come true in every wayâ
A couple of hours later, they arrived at the Governorâs ball where Emily would get her award engraved with her name and they could at last have something to eat. They managed to find a space to sit and be together and let others just come to them rather than endlessly circulating. It was a moment for them to enjoy and share in particular. They hadnât really been able to talk since the award itself.
âThank you for my honourable mentionâ he said kissing her cheek.
âWell you deserve nothing less. I couldnât have got my mojo back without the space to write that you made happenâ
âNo we made it happen, just like we made those beautiful babies back home and we made sweet love this morning and we make our day to day life as happy as it can be amidst the madness of toddlers!â
She stroked his cheek and looked adoringly into his eyes.
âYeah we make a good team huh?â
âYup â and will you stay with me still, even after kissing âDoug Ross?â
âweeeellâ she started, making out that it was a tough decision â he laughed and punched her lightly on the arm.
âWell OK then Keanu, Iâll stay with you, if you insist!â
âI do, indeed I doâ he replied, pulling her into a kiss that sealed the deal.
