Omg hi Ali!! This is gonna be all over the place in terms of fandoms

- I used to feel that a lot of people hated tinimmy from bob’s burgers. In 2021 (when I was 17), I got anon hate messages because I vaguely mentioned them and how I thought they were cute! The anon told me that I shouldn’t date and that it’s a good thing that I’m aroace bc I would be a horrible and toxic partner (bro??). I hesitated to post about them for a while. Thankfully, I found a community of tinimmy ppl who have taste

- I can’t really say that I hate a ship, I guess? Not unless it’s morally wrong. Oh! I don’t like reylo from star wars. Idk :/ I think they could’ve had an interesting relationship as siblings, seeing as Han and Leia most likely saw Rey as a daughter. Also, their dyad makes a lot of sense to me in a platonic/familial way, like how Luke and Leia were. I don’t know, I’m just not into them romantically

- I think Thorfinn & Flower from ghosts on cbs are super underrated!! They have such an interesting dynamic and they’re very cute together, but there are next to no fics about them (I may have to fix that). Also, a bunch of ride the cyclone ships! I love the three main ships (god you know I loved nischa more than anything) but so many good ships get slept on in that fandom (sugarsheep & perfectdolls my beloveds)

- I’m gonna have snipers after me, but I don’t love byler from stranger things, at least, I’m not crazy about them. And steddie is way too overrated for two characters who don’t even like each other. Sometimes I feel like stranger things fanon has whole different characters

I've been thinking about Ochako's role in the story, and thinking about how underdeveloped she was compared to Izuku, Shoto or Katsuki's, which got me thinking about it and since the manga's in its final arc and there's nothing to lose, why the heck not.

If Izuku is set up as someone born with "nothing", Shoto as born with "everything" and Katsuki as someone who was born loved, why not set Ochako as someone who wanted to give back love? It'd be a nice four-way connection/foil, considering she should've been set up as one of the main players of BNHA.

Ochako foiling Shoto alongside Izuku and Katsuki as born and raised in a loving environment, and how they've responded in comparison to his broken family unit - since she's the poorest classmates with humble beginnings and he's the son of a top 10 hero;

Ochako foiling Izuku alongside Shoto and Katsuki as born with something he "lacks" in comparison - which is both opportunity his Quirkless background wouldn't give and his shattered sense of self worth, compared to her who would be okay with being anything else but decided to be a hero for the money she could provide for her family;

Ochako foiling Katsuki alongside Izuku and Shoto as someone who started off as a hero who wants to help others in contrast to his motivation to be a hero who never loses a battle, with her sharing that same competitive streak and fighting edge while ultimately focusing on helping others before her. (Which is something Izuku does fill in the story but it could've worked imo)

This is partly because I want to imagine if she was part of the Endeavor Internship Arc, she'd benefit from forming a deep bond with the main deuteragonists on some level, if only to take her out of the preconceived notion she's there to be Izuku's love interest first and foremost- removing that aspect or using that expectation she's there to revolve around him to make her "one of the boys", give her the rotating spotlight a bit more.

But also it'd be a nice setup as as she could compare her background to Shoto and reflect on how she perceived the ideal hero vs. how flawed they can actually be, and her reason to be there could've been she's looking for a way to be strong in a way that can properly help others after Sir Nighteye's death. Imagine the bond they'd have if they were allowed to interact with each other the same way they do with Izuku and Tenya.

The less wealthy classmate with a loving and supportive family and the most wealthy and well-known classmate with a broken and dysfunctional family, two of Izuku's closer friends being inspired by him and trying to break away from the labels others pushed on them and be their own people? One with envy for a villain who reminds her of feelings she wanted to bottle up and the other whose villain's anger mirrored his former to his consumed his family for years? And yet both coming out of their experiences wanting to extend their hands to Himiko and Touya, to start anew and ease that pain?

And with the Paranormal Liberation Front Arc, you could still split her up but using that as a build up, with her and Shoto following Izuku and Katsuki, but she sees people in need of saving and decides to help others instead; make her confrontation with Himiko happen before Dabi's Dance; then let her join the battlefield shakened after spotting Gigantomachia from a distance. (Would it be cluttered? A little, but that arc was already somewhat cluttered, coming from someone who loves that arc A Lot.)

And to avoid her from being too OP, one could make her try to fight but still thinking of Himiko's tears while using her grappling hooks or Zero Gravity on debris to stop Gigantomachia- it could've foreshadow the conflicting emotions she feels are allowing her to surpass her own limits there and come back full force during her fight with Himiko later on, similar to Katsuki with his Cluster technique or Shoto developing Phosphor.

And imagine her worldview shattering even more from finding out a hero would fall so deep into obsession into being the greatest, he lost sight it what it means to be a hero and it created his own villain. Wouldn't that push her even further to try and be a hero the others can rely on, and later, the one Himiko needed? After all, if Ochako and Himiko already parallel, let's use the love thematics; they both love passionately, and unlike Himiko, Ochako didn't give up on a better world for everyone- she just realized what everyone entails.

Just thoughts from someone who'd love to see Ochako breaking out of that label of "love interest"- love and passion are a defining part of her, but her crush shouldn't be her defined role, the story itself has realized that. But it could've realized a lot sooner. It probably wouldn't have removed the fandom's perception of her, but it would've helped her in the long run, especially when the merch set her up as even more of an protagonist, and to an extent it feels like the fans want to believe she was planned to be like that when we know Horikoshi was playing around with her character until he finally settled on what to do with Himiko and wrote Ochako around it.

WHY DO I LIKE LEONA???

Sorry for the long yap as usual but, I feel like every once in a while ppl ask me this very question and I feel like I have been in twst hell for so long it’s like ancient history now. VGBHNJMK

TBH I very strongly disliked Leona's character when he came on screen when I first started to play twst. I found Chapter 2 to be very flat compared to Chapter 1 and I had very little sympathy for him and his backstory. To me, it was clear he was just the "hot, brooding character" archetype and I had no interest in him whatsoever.

HOWEVER, when I became more active in the fandom, my friend @comingyourlugubriousness and others began to ship my Yuu with him as a joke bc of my said dislike. And, yeah I begin to write lil scenarios where they’d interact and challenged myself to make a logical way he would even be interested in my Yuu in the first place? 

THAT GOT ME THINKING and I saw how he used to be characterized in fics and stuff and I really just didn't agree??? Even to this day, I feel like some ppl go in two extremes with him. 1.) Where they wash down his personality in order for him to fit in into this “prince charming role" OR 2.) They make him the worst bastard ever, which can lead into certian problematic connotations.

When I went to write my own fics I had watched all of his vignettes and understood better what his true personality is. The main story does not do much to make him likable to a general audience sometimes IMO. And so I became interested in how and why so many ppl interpret his character so wrong?? (My opinion ofc)

And so my journey began as prob one of the biggest Leona apologists ever.

To answer the question better I guess. What do I LIKE about him?

I like him bc in order to enjoy him you really have to read between the lines and do your own work as a fan to find the intriguing parts of him! It's just fun!

I actually find him very relatable, his burnout and seemingly ultra competitive but still “work smarter” not harder attitude is something I gel with and feels very realistic for someone his age.

YES, I think his design is nice but honestly it's the least interesting thing about him to me. I will always enjoy long hair on men that's no secret. According to some friends I "have a type” but eh.

I like that he uses his sorta rude and grumpy ruse to scare ppl off. I  personally subscribe to the idea that underneath all that sass he's just a lil cantankerous grandpa stuck in a  20 year old’s body, who likes to yap about chess and dead languages. 

He’s a nerd and likes books.

He's a true hater. 💚

I feel like he'd never judge your appearance, for eating too much or being lazy.

I feel like he's a caretaker and would always look out for you.

I think he'd be a good teacher and big brother and a lot of his more amiable qualities remind me of my own S/O who is so, so smart and charismatic and who I love very much! 

I say "I think/feel" on a lot of this bc TBH the headcanons I have made for him over my time in the fandom are probably 80% the reason I like him, yk?

Thoughts for The Montkraken Episode

so, I just finished the chapter and… wow I have a lot to say. I took screen shots for every part I wanted to talk about and I think this rant will be SUPERRRR long so bear with me. Tumblr won’t let me add screenshots so when I have better service I’ll edit the post to add them. These paragraphs are theories and side notes that I wrote after reading a certain section so you’re gonna see my thought process throughout the story. Also, I feel like they’re trying to tell us that Jiro is Zenji’s brother because when he had that little laugh about the MC being scared of bodies, he said too. When you click the “too?” option, he just says that he isn’t the one afraid. It’s not Yuri as well cause he’s literally a doctor that is in the same room when autopsies are in session. Whatever the case, I assume he was referencing to Zenji, though it being a blurry memory. Little theory tho.

OK SO THIS IS JUST SO FUNNY TO ME. In Chapter 9’s title it says, “Girl Learns Shocking Truth About Monster”. I like to think the shocking truth was the fact he didn’t shower for 3 days 😭. CAUSE THATS THE PART SHE SOUNDS MOST SHOCKED. Idk that part was silly to me. THEY’RE OUTFITS FOR THEIR DORM IS SOOOOOO PRETTY. They ate I fear, a bit more than the other dorms. Also side note, they dropped A LOT of info with just how they word things. For example, Yuri saying “Jiro, you are well aware that I will not be associated with those germs AGAIN.” Soooo Yuri was in Frostheim? I don’t doubt it bc there’s another line that says “I’d rather not recall how bitterly cold that place is” which can MEAN TWO THINGS. I’m super sure that they’re implying that yeah, he was, but then something happened blah blah blah.

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH HYDE AND DANTE??? Like ok bitches, spill your shot to us too don’t be shy. So, confirmed by them, Dante and Hyde used to go to school in Darkwick (which I assume the rest of the teachers are too). That explains their back and forth. On the topic of Dante, there was a small flashback where I missed a word in the sentence that Dante said while talking with Alan. “I’m the man you supposedly killed.” Supposedly?? Now, I didn’t my catch this in my first run, but now it’s like wdym supposedly?? Shouldn’t you know? This is giving hella Jiro vibes and honestly, I’m getting sick and tired of these characters having a bad memory.

SPEAKING OF JIRO- he seems to have problems remembering things and they come back to him in the very weird moments (honestly a kin moment). I would like the think that he’s just suffering from the damages he had to go through from the clash. His relationship with Yuri is so… sad to me. Yuri seems to doubt him a little bit and I feel like he sees him as just a specimen, not much of a friend. Meanwhile, Jiro smiles a lot to Yuri and listens to him like a master, like that’s what he’s supposed to do. NOT AGAINST HIS OWN WILL DONT GET ME WRONG. He’s just so neutral about it it makes me a bit like awwww :(. They’re cute tho idrc.

Ok moving on to Haku and Tohma. (Ok at this point I’m getting nervous cause why are we seeing so many characters now. That’s probably just a coincidence). OK THESE TWO HAVE GOT IT GOING. Assuming Solitary island means death, that would also help with the theory. So, whoever we chose in the beginning might just be the person who won the Laurel Crown.Honestly, this is just a silly little Drabble for a theory and VERY vague. Maybe the champion resides in the events of the past that we still don’t know about but this kinda helps?? Idk I’m just putting what I think at the moment. kunigiri - canon bi kunigami + the whole princess/fallen hero thing. i'm only 95% certain the development of their relationship will be romantic, but their relationship is def gonna be a core part of their characters as the series goes on

kainess - in my eyes they're already semi-canon ("it's a beautiful blue" sounds a lot like "the moon is beautiful, isn't it?") but i don't think ness's feelings will ever be reciprocated. or even if they are i don't think they'll be endgame for the sake of both their character developments yk

kaisagi - they're my favs so that's why they're this high but if i'm being serious, they won't become anything more than semi-canon. at most, we're gonna have a short bit with kaiser watching isagi clips again and going "wait a minute am i actually gay" and he accepts, moves on, and it's never addressed again

LOL okay like. yes people have always known they’re together but there were many years where d&p tried to downplay their relationship or at times even outright went against ppl shipping them. I'm assuming you're talking about the livestream they did while on tour. so that was 2018. While this was around the time that d&p started to be more open with how they interacted with each other, keep in mind this was still a year before either of them even came out (though dan started being more open w/ his sexuality around 2016). Before that, it was like Platonic Bros over in danandphil land. In 2012/2013 dan would actively fight with shippers and tell everyone they were idiots for thinking him and phil were together 😭 but it was more than that, they also downplayed a lot of aspects of their relationship. phil went so far as to make up a lie that they met through a mutual friend, they would talk about needing gfs/why they didn’t have them. as far as im aware the first active denial of their relationship was in 2011

to give you more of a sense of what it was like: in 2015, on Oct 19th they were doing a liveshow and acknowledged that it was their “friendiversary” which was like groundbreaking (despite the fact that they were calling each other friends) bc I don’t think they’d ever acknowledged Oct 19th before. When dan made the shipping joke in his diss track everyone lost their minds because, again, before that they either didn’t acknowledge shipping or actively went against it

More hate is continuing to spread within queer ships, especially within the JJK Fandom (!JJK MANGA SPOILERS!)

As I have shared before in previous posts, within the Jujutsu Kaisen fandom unfortunately a lot of queer ships get hate meanwhile straight ships do not. Personally, I do not care what people ship, as long as it's legal and unproblematic/toxic then it's okay! However, I will hate on someone's ship if they feel the need to disrespect other ships that aren't problematic.

And before anyone says, "Making straight characters gay is problematic!" Technically, yes, you are correct, but it really depends on the situation. For example; if you were to make let's just say Oh Sangwoo from Killing Stalking, a psychological horror manhwa, gay, then yes, it is problematic, because his character is based on the fact that he is straight, hence why if you were to make him gay it removes the point of the story.

However, if it is not a situation similar to Sangwoo if it doesn't change a major plotline or point of the story then it really doesn't matter, hence why it's a headcanon/fanon. Recently in Chapter 267, a "confession" is said by both Megumi and Itadori. Yuji says that if he doesn't have Megumi he will be lonely. Then Megumi said that he dreamt of a life with Yuji, in which the life Megumi describes is peaceful or happy, honestly, I'd compare it to a peaceful morning with an old married couple.

However, since the ship Itafushi, Megumi x Yuji, has risen because of the chapter, the ship has also gotten a lot of hate, and hate that it does not deserve. It's perfectly fine to disagree with the ship or just not ship them, but it's another thing to absolutely hate a ship and disrespect the shippers who aren't sexualizing the characters in any way, shape, or form.

As I have talked about previously in another post, Satosugu, Gojo x Geto, also get this same type of hate. As literally any other queer ship in the JJK fandom. Shipping queer ships isn't abnormal within fandoms, even if it's shounen or not canon, people will still do it, if it's a fetish, then yes it should be looked down upon, but some people, usually other queer people, ship the same genders usually because there's a vibe between those characters, like a "gaydar" going off.

In fact, I actually saw someone compare Itafushi to Goyuu, Gojo x Yuji...

Yeah, let's just soak that in for a minute...

Now let's play a game of spotting the difference between the two ships! Ding! Ding! Ding! That's right, Gojo x Yuji has pedophilia and a 13-year age difference between a student and teacher and Itafushi is legal because they're both minors and the same age!

I swear people who hate on queer ships and then only ship straight ships that (also) don't make sense and quite literally say the same shit queer shippers do when defending their shit of "its fanon", the hypocrisy is going through the roof right now.

Like I personally do not like the ships Sugushoko, Gojohime, Nobara x Yuji/Megumi, etc. but I'm still gonna respect those ships, but if you're disrespecting other ships, I won't respect your ships because of that. I personally think none of the ships I listed make sense, just like how people think Satosugu or Itafushi don't make sense.

At this point, it's not even people shipping queer ships that make the fandom insufferable like many people say, it's the straight ships because people try so hard to say the straight ships *are* canon and are just borderline homophobic towards queer ships.

I honestly just wish we could respect all ships whether they're queer, straight, nonbinary, etc. it really does not affect anyone *that* much. If it were a pro/comship then I'd understand. Satosugu and Itafushi aren't pro/comships, nor are Gojohime, Sugushoko, Nobara x Yuji/Megumi, yk the ones that are legal and not toxic/problematic.

It makes me really upset that literally no one is able to ship normal ships anymore without just getting hate. It makes it to the point where you can't even enjoy JJK, or any anime/manga for that matter.

Sorry for the lame yapping, I'll probably have another debate similar to the Kirara and Hakari post soon. el was robbed of her childhood and we know that it eats at her. like that scene in s1 where she looks at nancy's stuff and all the pictures from her childhood. and although a certain fandom of a certain ship would disagree, el always sought out validation from mike. their bond was never strengthened by being different or staying true to yourself. it makes sense that her need to impress mike and feel validated would outweigh her trust in him and her need for his comfort.

it is crazy just how much she feels this way, though. like i was blown away when she asked angela to lie to mike. like that's insane. she went to crazy lengths to hide the truth from him--and in turn hide her true self. it's sad, really, and it breaks down mike and el's relationship even further
