I have a theory about who owns Alastor and it’s actually not about Lilith
Hazbin Hotel episode 5 spoilers and a wacky theory ahead
-
Stay with me for a minute. What if it isn’t Lilith who owns Alastor’s soul, but Lucifer?
I was trying to figure out why Alastor had an issue with Lucifer from the jump. I mean before Lucifer even started insulting Alastor he was glaring at him. But if he owns Alastor, then Al would be pretty pissed at him wouldn’t you think?
Also, Lucifer claims to not know who Alastor is (which I don’t buy, he has to knows who the Overlords are especially one as strong as Alastor) but then why does Alastor hate someone who claims to have never met or even heard of him before? He doesn’t even despise Vox this much.
I don’t agree that Lilith got Alastor to hate Lucifer because since when has Alastor invested himself in other people’s drama? And why would he care about the family drama of the person that owns him?
So my theory is that since Lucifer clearly isn’t the best father, and he knows it, so he commanded Alastor to go and keep an eye on his daughter. That’s also why he’d be pissed at the insinuation that Alastor has basically become a replacement dad (and explains how Lucifer knows the way to get under Alastor’s skin is to pretend to not know him and say he’s a nobody).
But how does this explain his 7 year absence.
Well I theorize Alastor was left pretty hurt after his fight with Vox. Valentino says Alastor almost killed Vox which I imagine took a lot of power to do, so Alastor is left in a position where he is not healing quick enough and probably is left nowhere near as strong as he previously was. This leaves him desperate enough to make a deal with Lucifer to heal him in exchange for his soul. And since this isn’t Alastor’s first time making a deal he makes sure to have Lucifer promise no one will ever find out, Lucifer will never speak a word.
And the first thing he has Alastor do is help him find Lilith which would explain his 7 year absence.
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

quick design on how i think kaeyas bio father looks + rant:
ANYWAYS!!! i really despise it when people portray kaeyas biological father as this extremely abusive man, especially when they make crepus out to be this some sort of saint. we have to remember that kaeya and her father are REFUGEES - it is literally a core aspect of their story. their home country was completely destroyed, with most citizens either turning into horrific monsters or cursed with immortality. while we don't know much about kaeya's childhood pre mondstadt, it's safe to assume that it probably wasn't the best - however, i still don't think her father was abusive. from the very little that we do know about him, he seems extremely remorseful and perhaps even /regretful/ for what he had to do. he isn't an evil father - but simply one in an extremely difficult situation. would you rather abandon your child in order for them to have a better life or keep your child with you, even if it means that they'll suffer ? yes, kaeya was technically placed in mondstadt to be some sort of spy - but sometimes you have to make sacrifices for the greater good, no matter how much it may hurt.

another thing about the ‘maggie is a demon’ theory that really doesn’t sit right with me is that i’ve read her as neurodivergent from the start.
everyone is convinced that her awkwardness (and other various traits) somehow make her the secret villain in the story, and sitting here as a neurodivergent person it feels all kinds of awful seeing those same things I relate to being used as proof of her being ‘off’ ‘strange’ or downright evil.

why do fandoms seem so inclined to portray the character with a lighter color scheme as increasingly feminine and submissive at the same rate as their portrayal of the character with a darker color scheme as toxically masculine, predatory, creepy, and sometimes even sexually violent. surely it isn't rooted in any sort of fucked up social dynamics or narratives society's been pushing for ages, right? ......right?

“They’re warriors.” Yeah, but they’re also idiots.
As someone who’s not an athlete, who can’t play any sport to save my life, I can see how me saying that means absolutely nothing. I know that being part of the team that wins the cup, being on the ice when they scored the winning goal, is the ultimate for these guys but… playing on broken bones, with near concussions, getting gashed and slashed, is insane. And incredibly irresponsible for their overall health. But these “warriors” are bred to believe they have to play because they have to win.
If I have any problem with the game, that’s it.

No offense but I don't understand authors who announce stuff on their fandom blogs lol. Like there isn't any shame in being a fanfic writer but I saw what y'all did to Casey McQuinston. If I get published I do not want to spend the rest of my career with people trying to figure out what my work is based on/if it's just a fic with the serial numbers rubbed off. Nevermind the fact I keep my original fiction ideas separate from my fan fiction completely and so there's no connection to make, but again there were so many accusations about RWRB secretly being rpf even though the literal intro of the book TELLS YOU what inspired it... I don't trust y'all at all with that info.

I still think Scar would fit as the Heart of the Universe for his symbol in the Life Series Winners Circle. Like, an anatomical heart. Blood and life and death and wanting to love but not getting the chance and
Yeah, it just. It just fits him, to me. The Universe can't all be made up of stars, It needs something to live inside it.

I like how when I sat down with the store manager to step down from this position he explained that he hadn't even said anything to me until that day. Yes sir, I noticed. I had already decided what I was going to do before you said anything to me that morning, but that morning nailed the coffin. That this was taking it easy on me was part of the reason I quit as soon as I did. I was already in over my head. 🤷‍♂️
In any case, today is better.

!!TSAT SPOILERS!!
So I read it. And I really don’t overall feel too strongly about it. I mean it’s not my favorite book in the world, but I don’t hate it. That being said there were a couple things that no one wants me to but I feel the need to rant about. Just a quick warning if you loved the book and don’t want to hear any criticism that's totally fine, this post isn't for you :)) I don’t want to bash anyone’s enjoyment there are just somethings that I think need to be talked about. And listen, I get that it’s a kid's book, and I know that some of the criticisms are completely unwarranted, but I still think that it deserves some regardless. (And i’ve seen the argument that this book is getting more criticism/hate bc it’s centered around a gay couple and not a hetero one which is valid in some respects but is also used to discredit a lot of legitimate criticism) So that being in mind here’s my two cents on a few things.
First of all, the relationship dynamic. I have always liked the ship (or the idea of it) fairly well. And I really tried to be completely open to however it would be presented in the book seeing as so much of it that I know was created by the fandom. I have to say overall it wasn't bad. There are many genuinely sweet moments and for the most part their dynamic makes sense considering their age and experience. But while reading both perspectives something I couldn't shake at times was how one-sided it felt. This ties into something I see pretty much everyone talking about which is the off-putting way Will's character was written at times. I felt like Nico was always talking about how beautiful Will was, how sweet and kind and good he was (which don't get me wrong was nice), but I felt like I saw barely any of that from Will. It felt kind of uncomfortable at times, especially with the whole point of their relationship being that Will accepts Nico and reciprocates his feelings. I don't really have anything else to say on that but I will mention how I did genuinely enjoy how the relationship wasn't as developed and close as could have been made out to be. They were flawed and were developing and learning how to support each other which was what made some parts so lovely. I feel like that was realistic.
Alright now the Persephone’s Garden scene and the framing of Will’s character. From what I've seen people either absolutely hate or totally love this scene. Again, I'm somewhat neutral on it as a whole I think in theory it could have been nice but with the weird way the authors went about writing Will it again just fell sort of flat. The conversation Will has with Persephone where (to my understanding) he asks her how he is supposed to love Nico felt very odd to me. It, along with a few other scenes, made it feel like Will's purpose with Nico was to "fix" him. Which I mean??? Again, the is the whole thing about their relationship not that Will accepts Nico as he is?? I feel like this line of thinking from Will could have been an interesting subject to talk about to develop his character and his and Nico's relationship, but it was never acknowledged. Sometimes it felt like the writing was trying to make you like Will or sympathize with him but it just didn't work and instead did the opposite. (also the whole thing with him calling his boyfriend's stepmom the "most gorgeous person he'd ever seen" right to his face didn't sit well with me but that's just kinda a personal thing).
So can most of us agree that the coming out thing was weird? I'm not going to say too much on it bc honestly I'm just kind of baffled. The whole thing felt very uncharacteristic and was framed as Nico like "taking back his power" or something but just kinda left me like :/. After everything Nico struggled with (and was still struggling with) it felt very disrespectful to his character. But yeah, again, :/?
Finally, what was that first kiss? Seriously? I’m sorry but it really didn't sit right with me. Nico’s breaking down bc his best friend is DEAD and Will chooses that moment to kiss him or the first time? And it’s made to seem all romantic and sweet? What would have been sweet would have been Will being there (which he admittedly was) and helping Nico work through his grief however Nico needed him to. After all Nico’s been through surrounding his sexuality the fact that he’d be okay with that makes no sense. This really made it feel like they were throwing all of Nico’s previous baggage out of the window for this scene (or book lol). It should have been treated with more respect. I feel like Nico should have initiated it. The way it was done didn't really feel meaningful it felt disrespectful to BOTH their characters. And I’ve seen people saying that Nico kissed Will when he was upset plenty of times throughout the book and people criticizing the first kiss scene are just doing it to villainize Will. Ya’ll. That. is. Not. the. Same. thing. Kissing someone FOR THE FIRST TIME while they're going through tremendous grief and in distress to comfort them and kissing someone who you’ve been dating for a while and kiss casually all the time while their upset to comfort them are VERY different situations. I’m not trying to say Will is horrible, I honestly think that a great deal of backlash for his character is undeserved, I’m just confused to why anyone would think that was a good decision. In the end, I think the scene really just boils down to a complete misunderstanding of a character on EITHER author's end.
So yeah in conclusion:

I have some questions about karaoke night, Alex Hirsch. Very Important Questions. Which I will happily scream at a poor hapless baby triangle who can have no answers for me, and possibly also does not have object permanence yet.
Follow-up that is I guess suggestive, but let's be real here, Bill's a fucking triangle:
