I'm so disappointed in Florida's results. We had a ballot measure to proctect the right to abortion. The majority voted yes, but it did not meet the 60% threshold needed to amend the state constitution.

To reiterate: The majority of Florida voted to protect abortion. People are dying, and we failed to stop the ban because of the opinion of less than half our population.

I cannot put into words how much sadness and anger I feel for my U.S based followers and mutuals. It is disgusting beyond words that there are people in this world that prefer a sexual offender over a woman.

You belong to yourself and nobody else. Your sexuality belongs to yourself and nobody else. Your body belongs to yourself and nobody else. No matter what your government may say, never forget that YOU belong to YOURSELF.

I hope and pray that you all are able to find some sort of safe haven, whether it be getting out of that country or simply coming into Tumblr to express yourself. You are valid, you are seen, and you are heard. You are loved.

I said that I would go on an indefinite hiatus today but I just got some info while endlessly doomscrolling that apparently there was some shit where ballots were (allegedly, for legal reasons) not counted or missing right before Election Day.

Although I'm not getting my hopes up, but PLEASE check if you ballot has been counted, and if it hasn't, THEN call 888-OUR-VOTE, the National Voter Protection hotline if your ballot is missing or not counted.

EmMcLaughin made a Threads post about it and that's how I found out.

From the comments I can see, this has happend in Minnesota, Michigan, Pennsylvania and even more states. This is likely to be WIDESPREAD in the USA, so PLEASE check if your ballot has been counted. If it hasn't, please Call 888-OUR-VOTE

RFK Jr is very likely to be in charge of public health policy come January and he has been very open with his radically antivax agenda. And Trump has said he “is open to” banning vaccines outright in the US. So if you need or want a:

• Covid Booster

• Flu shot

• Tetanus Booster

• HPV

•Meningococcal Meningitis

Or any other vaccine that you have not gotten. MOVE FAST. Some of these take multiple doses that need to be spread out over several months. At this point it is wildly unsafe to assume our country would not do something this unbelievably stupid!!!

Never mention a possible pregnancy/abortion to anyone, especially not through a social media app messaging service such as messenger, WhatsApp, Instagram DMs, Snapchat, etc.

Delete all period tracking apps and to start tracking using a planner or physical calendar

Book appointments for a form of birth control if possible, or to always carry condoms for yourself and other

Look into sterilization options if that is the route you want to go down (here is a list of 1000 doctors willing to sterilize you without a fight)

Protect your fellow person, protect the women in your life, the queer people, the disabled people, everyone will be affected by this

Form communities. Tell your people that you love them. Protect one another. Check in on one another. None of us are alone.

Then fucking start one. Come on, change the system. Overthrow the government, go ahead. “Both candidates are evil and I don’t want either to be president!” THEN DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

Oh, you don’t actually want to do that? It sounds scary and impossible to achieve? Then you better at least fucking vote next time. Make a difference.
