Scary Sunset.

I'm concepting things way outta order in this story, but I'm sure you can piece things together. Context is for a storybeat where, after defeating and capturing Adagio (thus having all three sirens in her possession), Sunset enacts her revenge plot to release the sirens on Canterlot as Thea discovers she's been manipulated. In a confrontation, the two scuffle and fight over the siren orbs while Sunset struggles with her conflicting wants and emotions.

idk if this is accurate but i’ve felt like in previous seasons riz & gorgug have been one of the inter-bad kids dynamics we’ve seen the least of & this season has been so great in that aspect. gorgug having helped make some of riz’s magic gear. riz helping gorgug with his studies. the shared birthday party. gorgug’s gift to riz being something he himself made to protect riz. riz’s gift to gorgug being something he illegally grabbed to protect gorgug. gorgug who utilizes rage to put his body on the line for his friends & riz who will take deep levels of mental stress for his friends. even though it was within the context of a joke, riz calling gorgug an ��absolute sweetie.” like yea they might not be in a band together or both part of a presidential campaign team or owlbears teammates, but they’d go to war for each other, because they’re best friends.

#I watched it today it was so good #im not big on dinosaur stuff but i like how it was used to approach the predator/prey conversation especially when both sides are sentient #instead of just defaulting to well since predators are meat eaters their actions are automatically immoral so their role in the story #has to match. and then when your characters /are/ meat eaters you just step around that whole topic #heart knows he has to kill and eat so there’s no avoiding it but even he knows he has agency over that #hell he even decided to hunt by himself so umasou doesn’t have to see him kill and eat another dinosaur a day after meeting him #and maybe its because it’s a kids movie but it also doesn’t make a big show over the act of hunting and eating. it doesn’t dwell on it #like yes you can clearly see them ripping into guts minus the graphic details but it doesnt go out of its way to censor it either #its played straight just like hearts mom having more kids like nobody asks who the father is or when that happened cuz it doesn’t matter #what matters is she still loves heart and encourages her kids to greet their big brother and they do!!! it’s sweet #Beckon was also an interesting touch bc they make it clear the only reason he doesnt eat umasou is bc he cant and not that he wouldn’t #but he’s still a funny and interesting character and that doesn’t get in the way of how we see him too much #same for baku he was pretty polite with heart esp from the start when he asks him if hes abandoned implying he would be prepared to #look out for him from the start. and at the end when he decides to spare him. I dont hate him at all hes just intimidating #you are umasou #doodles #I wanted to draw smth more detailed but I couldn’t decide if I wanted to go with the cartoony art style #or smth closer to realistic?? so this is like. some sort of compromise I guess

jack race and crutchie have the kind of co-dependent friendship/brotherly relationship/love that only comes out of being each others' sole support systems during the worst times of their lives. they can read each others' minds. they know immediately when something is wrong. they will be so so mean to each other but the instant anybody else is mean to one of them all bets are off. they communicate in sentence fragments incomprehensible to anybody else. they each know and guard the others' secrets with the type of intensity usually only seen in secret societies. ride or die to the most literal degree possible.

#also adding in significant others to their funny little equation is always fun bc #they (the trio) are truly unbothered #they Know to their Bones that nobody can touch what they have #they also know that what they have is not romantic and are actively encouraging of #the others to put themselves out there #so like. when kat or davey or spot come along #the transition period is always kinda funny because the new person. davey for example.#can so clearly see that this friendship is special and important and deep and all consuming #and it's a little intimidating bc how is he supposed to be That with Jack #race and crutchie are hyping jack up inviting davey to thing having him come hang out #jack is like they love you i love you lets do this thing #and davey is like okay. but they'll always come first?#and the answer isn't 'no they won't always come first' bc jack would could will and has dropped everything to help them #whenever and however they need him #but it's also 'you'll Also come first' because there's room for somebody else too #newsies

it bugs me so much when I see people complaining about the lack of women in jrwi when like.... riptide is right there. riptide has so many cool npcs who are women VERY early on in the campaign and throughout the rest of it, PLUS a badass pc (jay) who is one of the best played/written characters in ANY of the jrwi campaigns. like. what's the issue here. you don't even have to go to a new show for cool women, literally their longest running campaign has a ton of them !!!
