Tumblr media
when alhaitham’s eyes finally open - albeit barely - the first thing he notices is that the books on his nightstand aren’t there.
the second thing is that, judging from the pulsing behind his temples, he is definitely hungover. so he attributes the missing books to whatever drunken state he was in last night thanks to cyno, a bet, and way too much alcohol.
groaning, he closes his eyes again. maybe it’s for an hour or maybe it’s only five minutes, but when he peels them open again, he realizes that the sunlight that’s hitting them is coming from a window that’s not in the right spot.
it’s startling enough for him to jolt upright, because it’s enough for him to realize that this isn’t his room.
it’s with mounting horror that he realizes that isn’t his window, that isn’t his nightstand, and that certainly is not his underwear laying on the floor.
and he is certainly not alone in what isn’t his bed either. with an increasing heart rate, he moves as quickly as his alcohol impaired body can manage, collecting his discarded clothes and slipping them on.
“haitham?”
when he whips his head around to look at you, his brain feels as if it smacks against the side of his skull.
_____
kaveh peels himself off the front porch as alhaitham shoves his key in the lock and pushes the front door open.
“where were you last night?” the architect asks, already seeming suspicious. “you said you were going home when you left. i was waiting for you!”
alhaitham sends him a flat look. “you poor thing.”
“don’t bring my financial status into this! just answer the question!”
he grabs a glass, weighing different lies and their effectiveness in his head before answering. “i was out.”
“obviously,” his roommate huffs, catching the door and following him in. “but where?”
alhaitham fills and chugs his water to soothe his parched throat (and to avoid answering), turning the answer over in his mind. he quickly comes to the conclusion that answering honestly would be extremely unwise.
so he simply shrugs, setting his glass down and heading towards his room.
unfortunately, he isn’t fast enough to escape kaveh’s long limbs and insatiable appetite when it comes to his private life. he practically body blocks him, hand cupping his chin contemplatively, eyes boring into him as if they could pierce his skull and read his thoughts.
“is that a hickey?”
“of course not, don’t be crass.” alhaitham pushes past him, then tugs the collar of his shirt up. he needs a shower and fresh set of clothes.
but kaveh is hot on his heels. “you were out with someone, weren’t you?”
normally, he’d be much more adept at diverting kaveh’s attention, but there’s a strange, paralyzing panic rising in his chest hindering him. it must be the remnants of the alcohol lingering in his system. “no.”
“then why didn’t you come home?”
“i’m not a child who has to explain why they were out past curfew.”
kaveh rolls his eyes. “right, you’re a grown man that’s always in bed by 9pm. now, was the house of daena burning down or were you out with a…certain pretty doctor? you guys were both pretty tipsy when you left.”
in the years that alhaitham has known kaveh, he’d learned that the man was never able to simply accept certain comments at face value.
for example, last week alhaitham may or may not have said that he thought you were pretty. he’s never been one to exaggerate, and meant it purely objectively. like if he said tighnari was smart or that cyno went through card backs faster than dehya went through steel gauntlets. it was just a fact.
but whenever it was about you, kaveh always managed to distort his simple observations into something borderline scandalous.
“it’s none of your business,” he snaps, sounding much too defensive for his liking. “if all you’re going to do is make baseless accusations, save them for later. i need to get ready.”
“where are you going?!”
_____
the table alhaitham shares with you at puspa cafe is silent.
usually, having coffee with you is easier. conversation flowed easily and the few silences you’d share never demanded to be filled. at first he’d thought that it was because you were compatible in all the right ways, but he’d quickly come to the conclusion that it because, well, you were you.
and last night he’d kissed you. he’d felt your lips press against his own and felt your soft skin under his fingertips. he may have forgotten how the two of you had ended up back at your place, but he’d never forget that.
but now the air is so brittle he fears it may snap. he glances up at you. your expression is almost unreadable. like him, you’re probably over-analyzing the situation at hand.
“i don’t regret it,” he says simply, internally cursing his lack of social tact when you startle. “do you?”
“i don’t,” you say quickly, looking sincere enough. “but…fraternizing is against akademiya faculty policy.”
“i suppose because those are the rules,” he says slowly, reaching across the table to twine his fingers with yours as he adds, “we’ll have to terminate all contact then.”
“yes,” you nod, a smile spreading across your lips. “we will.”
but when he leans in to kiss you, you don’t stop him.
well, alhaitham’s never been one for rules anyway.
BONUS:
cyno rubs his temples. it was much too early for this. “kaveh, i can’t order an investigation on the akademiya scribe just because you think you saw him hold hands with someone.”

*BAM*
THAT WAS THE SOUND OF ME BUSTING THE DOOR DOWN. HI. Okay so first thing's first, I recently saw an animatic (??) by @/armintist on Instagram about N's perception of Tessa as of ep. 6 and it has broken the dam. Your honor I think about what must have been going through his head at that given moment So Often; some may say too often (I know my roommate definitely would, sorry Anna-). Y'all, he literally just remembered her existence and because we have no canon timeline as to how long was between eps. 5&6, I'm going to assume it was no LESS than two hours, IF EVEN. Doll could have gone straight to "Tessa" from Uzi's house, we'll never know. But like... what in the fuck was going on in his brain? This person, who he KNOWS that he knows, that he has vague, barely comprehensible memories of from a time far back into his past that he only just got back, is suddenly standing right in front of him again. And he hesitates, because OF COURSE HE DID. It looks like her (or does it? He doesn't remember his face, he never even truly saw it), it sounds like her, it feels like her... but how long has it been? And why here, why now?
Honestly, "Cyn's" pretty smart. She knew he would be willing to go along with what he told her because he's never really pressed into his memories before. He's relieved the tidbits of them, sure, but he tends to acknowledge them and move on. She knew all she had to do was act right and he would probably trust her. But what she didn't account for was him finding a love worth fighting for, and that's where her ultimate fucky-wucky was. But I'm not here to talk about "Cyn's" strategy, I'm here to talk about our beloved traumatized murder robot puppy.
What do you think happened when it hit him that that skin over Cyn's body wasn't of it's own creation? That his friend was technically still alive, if you count her preserved remains being thrown over a robot body like some sick and twisted reverse fursuit. And it can't be said that that didn't happen, because it definitely did. N's little episode in the hallway while "Cyn" hunted them down showed us that he is in fact recovering his memories. Slowly, and at very unfortunate times, but he is. And I can almost guarantee you that at some point, in some way, he must have recovered the full memory of the gala massacre. And oh me oh my, that must have been a long, hard day for him. Thank God he has Uzi now-
That aside, he must eventually realize what happened. And as he remembers more and more good times with her, his little heart probably just shattered more and more. Along with all of the other BULLSHIT he must be remembering following ep. 8.
AND ANOTHER THING ON THAT NOTE. I have so so so many emotions about N and how good he is and how,,,, Genuinely Good his heart is. Like actually. Y'all, need I remind the court that he was supposed to KILL Uzi. He had her PINNED TO THE WALL with a wing, but after watching her father turn around and ABANDON HER, he stopped. And sure, it can be reasonably said that this is because he spent some time with Uzi beforehand, but how long would they have had together, logistically? Ten minutes, maybe twenty, tops?? The fact that that was enough for him to COMPLETELY CHANGE SIDES and want to help her instead (which is also attributed to the conversation they had in the cockpit but again, TEN MINUTES)... listen, Uzi had no one before she found N, but N had no one either. J openly abused him, and V had to act like she hated him to protect him. N was lonely, just like Uzi. Somehow, someone found him who was kind to him and seemed to actually care. She was a little edgy, but she talked to him and she listened. It was more than he had at the base - and the same was true for Uzi. But again, I could talk about how much I love NUZI for hours, right now I want to talk about how good N's heart is. He was a worker, once. A worker who did everything he could to be... useful, to Tessa's parents, but a good friend to Tessa. And he loved his friends. He has,,, so much love in his heart. He always has. And he gives it so readily, and it can hurt him, but he like - he gets better about it, I believe. He can guard himself better these days, but he just. He still cares. And he cares so much and he just. GOD. GOD I LOVE HIM AND I FEEL SO TERRIBLE FOR WHAT HE'S BEEN THROUGH. FUCKING HELL-

fun chrom and or robin headcanons? chrobin headcanons?
alternatively what are some widely accepted or constantly brought up things in the awakening fandom that you hate?
my fun headcanon is they try to both be objective and somewhat professional as leaders but when c&r are alone together they love to gossip. you know theyve seen some stuff
Oooh what a fun question! I’m sure as soon as I hit post I’ll remember a bunch more but here’s what I was able to come up with~
Robin: I actually like head-canoning Robin as having ADHD. I could ramble about that for ages tbh but I think they fit the “twice exceptional” profile really well and that a combination of being an anxious perfectionist and having an attention disorder would make a lot of sense given that we know Robin is both very confident in their tactics and intelligence but also prone to workaholic tendencies with pushing themselves to extremes to make sure they’ve thought of everything. I also headcanon Robin as being kind of a slob LOL like I think their room would always be a mess with things strewn everywhere but *they* know where everything is meant to be so don’t even think about moving anything, Frederick >:(
Also this may be obvious from my writing, but I like headcanoning Robin as having darker skin than in canon in large part to circumvent Awakening’s unfortunate tendency to only feature that trait for Plegians who are antagonists. OH! And I love the idea of Robin being touch-starved when the shepherds first find and adopt them too.
Chrom: I headcanon he has very pretty cursive handwriting that he was forced to learn by his tutors growing up; that he low-key kinda likes PDA; that he’s mindlessly touchy with Robin specifically, even before he realizes his feelings; that he has a praise kink; that he is a morning person; and that he’s not particularly religious, despite being….ya know, the exalt of a halidom.
Idk if it’s cheating to also list that I headcanon him as biromantic demisexual (given that I have a whole fic about that) but I’m restating it anyway because that one is very dear to me. Also! I did not come up with this one myself, but I saw a tweet from another Chrobin author once about how they hc that Chrom would abdicate the throne before he gets particularly old to help ensure that Lucina’s coronation is a happy and celebratory event, and I love that idea and thinks it suits both of them really well <3
I think the one you shared is cute and fitting for them too! Both of them take their jobs really seriously so I can absolutely see them making an effort to keep too many court politics out of their work but then debriefing about stuff and laughing at all the stuffy nobles together after to help maintain their sanity.
As for things brought up / widely accepted in the fandom that I dislike and / or strongly disagree with, the three that come most immediately to mind are:
- That Chrom and Robin have a dumb one / smart one dynamic. I think they’re both very competent leaders and that while Robin is clearly the smarter of the two, I’ve always interpreted Chrom as probably having above average intelligence and just being really blunt and kind of oblivious / not tactful in certain delicate social situations which….tbh I fully believe Robin can be guilty of that sort of thing as well LOL
- That the f!Chrobin supports are “objectively” some of the worst in the game”. I can definitely understand and sympathize with some of the complaints about them, but that doesn’t change the fact that they’re my favorite supports in awakening full stop. And I do also think that a subset of the complaints leveled at them are wildly off base
- That male and female Robin have different personalities. I just do not think this is true. I think the differences we see in their supports are pretty much always a direct function of being treated differently by the other character on account of their gender and responding to those differing circumstances accordingly
I have started drafting and ultimately aborted so many posts making arguments for all these points but somewhere along the line I usually remind myself to take a deep breath and that people can enjoy these characters and ships however they want to. Ultimately if I don’t like something, it’s easy enough for me to tune it out and keep doing my own thing and I’ve found fandom has become a lot more pleasant that way LOL
Andddd I think that covers everything? Thanks so much for the ask—I had a lot of fun answering it as probably evidenced by how long this turned out to be asjfk

Lending a Hand
Summary: Gale's research accidently reveals his roommate
Tw: injury and blood
A small scream pricked up Gale's ears, he had just been working on a more advanced spell of magic missile when it grew beyond his control and blasted a hole in his wall. Gale wasn't one to worry about the damage done to his tower; he had the money to repair a small hole in the wall and if the damage was done in the name of Gale's study, he wasn't going to complain too much for his mishaps.
But the borrower who had just moved in sent a wave of guilt over the wizard as he stared at the damage he had just done.
He had first noticed the borrower one late night In the kitchen. They had ducked behind the towering wine bottles before Gale made it to the counter. He knew enough about borrowers to know they prefer to stay hidden from big people, so he pretended to have never seen them as he went about these last few weeks. If they wanted to talk to Gale, he would patiently wait for them to come to him.
Unfortunately, the plan would have to change if Gale hypothesis was correct.
As he peered into the hole in the wall, he could see a moving figure underneath the debris, desperately trying to pull themselves free. However, they quickly froze when they realized Gale was lingering near the wall. He pretended to just glance at the damage around the wall but mentally, Gale was taking notes of the tiny person’s position. It was a miracle they weren't crushed, safely tucked away into a pocket of rubble that only didn't collapse on them due to a wooden beam that held the stones up. Gale feared digging them out from above would endanger them even more. Not to mention if he did manage to free them, they would surely try to hobble away to somewhere where Gale couldn't reach them. If they were hurt, they would definitely need aid.
If Gale was going to help that, he would have to be quick and smart about this.
Placing his hand on the wall, Gale murmured a spell to manipulate the arcane energy to slip his hand into the stone structure. A purple light illuminated the inside of the wall, causing a gasp from the borrower. Gale's hand slipped through the portal like butter, it took a little bit of feeling around, but when his fingers brushed against their arm, he quickly curled his hand around their small frame. The borrower screamed and tried to claw out of his grip, but Gale only tightened his grip. He understood their panic but this was the only way to keep them from getting hurt while he dug them out.
Meanwhile, his other hand was elbow deep in the hole, pushing rubble out of the way, tiny jagged rocks scraped at his hand but Gale only pressed on until the small one was loose enough for him to safely pull them out.
They flailed about in his loose fist, crying out in desperate pleas to be released. Gale couldn't even begin to fathom what they were thinking, so he rushed over to his desk and hastily pushed the papers off the surface, then carefully deposited them in the center of the desk.
This was the first time Gale could study their appearance more thoroughly. They seemed feminine in appearance but seemed to take on a more androgynous style, with shorter blonde hair that may have had a few lavender streaks around their bangs. Gale gave a faint smile as he wondered if the little one had siphoned some dye from his cabinets to color their hair like that. Perhaps that question should be asked later, when they weren't staring at them with such fear. There were more pressing matters anyways, like the wound on their leg that was caked in dust and blood.
He slowly raised his hands. “Apologies, I didn't intend to frighten you, but I knew you needed a… hand in that moment.” Gale chuckled at his own joke but it didn't seem to land well with the petrified borrower.
“Anyways, my name is Gale Dekarios and I am terribly sorry about the inconvenience. I did not expect my experiment to get out of hand like it did. Perhaps I could rectify my mistake by aiding that wound you acquired on your leg?”
That seemed to have jolted the borrower out of their trance, however, they scrambled backwards until their back hit the wall. “No way! I am not letting you grab me again!”
Despite this not being the reaction he wanted, Gale remained calm, keeping his hands where the borrower could see them. “I know this is not the most ideal situation one your size would find themselves in but we must dress that wound.”
Their eyes darted back and forth from Gale to their leg. The wound was a rather nasty gash but not serious… so long as they could get it cleaned up properly. It took a moment before the borrower finally stared back at the wizard with pleading eyes. “Do you promise not to touch anywhere but my leg?”
Gale nodded. “I will do everything in my power to make contact as minimal and delicate as I can.”
He took a seat at his chair and inched his hand closer to the borrower's leg, yet he waited for their permission before continuing any further. There was a moment of hesitation from the borrower, still contemplating whether this was even a good idea but they relented and moved their leg outwards for Gale to examine.
Gale wasted no time conjuring a couple mage hands to fetch supplies to treat the wound, while he gently nudged the bloodstained trousers up to their knee. There was a nasty gash running down their calf but fortunately it didn't look life threatening. The disembodied hands flew back, setting down bandages and elixirs that would certainly aid the small person.
Dabbing a handkerchief into the elixir, Gale shot an apologetic look their way. “This may sting a bit.” He warned before pressing the cloth to the wound, the borrower winced no matter how gentle Gale was being. After bandaging them up, he gave the tiny person some space. They immediately skittered backwards until they backed into the wall, their blue eyes widened as they stared up at Gale. He couldn't help but feel sorry for them,
“I'd say my craftsmanship wasn't all that bad given how delicate my subject was.” He flashed a grin, hoping this joke would land; sadly, it didn't. “Anyways, my name is Gale, and you?”
“Vexis… or Vex, which um… ever you prefer.”
“Pleasure to meet you, Vex.”
Their eyes lingered on Gale, then to his hands that rested on the desk, it was obvious they were still afraid of being grabbed. “So… what happens to me now?”
“Well, I'd say you should head home to rest but I'm not so sure you can make it back given your status right now.” Before Vex was given a chance to panic, Gale smiled softly. “Nevertheless, once that leg is healed, you can retreat into the walls and go back to scurrying about pretending this encounter never happened.”
“You knew about me?!”
“Well yes,” Gale shrugged. “You slipped into a wizard's tower, my small friend. It's not easy to keep hidden when I am most attuned to my surroundings in my own home.”
Vex’s face went ghost white as shaky hands grasped at their hair. Perhaps it wasn't the greatest idea to mention that Gale knew of their presence if he wanted them to calm down.
“Please, you mustn't worry yourself about that. I have no quarrel with a borrower Living within my tower. If anything, I rather enjoyed the company.”
Vex raised a brow. “But I never even talked to you?”
“True, but knowing that someone was around was enough of a delight for me.” His cheery tone filled the room. “But now that we have properly met, I think giving you a properly cooked meal is in order!”
“I mean… it's not necessary.” They said sheepishly.
“Nonsense, this is the least I could do after unknowingly causing your injury.” His mind was already racing with ideas for a cuisine that would win over the borrower. “How about I cook some quipper fish and use my homemade hundur sauce? I promise you, you'll love it!”
“If you're that dedicated to going through the trouble.” Vex let out a sigh. “I just… don't want to be picked up anymore today.”
“But of course, you've been through enough already, just sit tight and I will start up dinner.” Gale eagerly stood up, forgetting that quick movements like that can easily startle borrowers. He offered Vex an apologetic smile and backed away from the desk, not bothered by the skeptical look from them. They may be a closed book, but Gale knew that time would help Vex open up more.

ok so I know you don't like Keefe but I wonder what your extensive thoughts on Sophie are (if you have any)
i do, anon! all thoughts that follow are almost 100% subjective, etc. etc. etc. it starts out negative, because i want to end on a positive note :) this will be long
alright i will start by saying: i love sophie. but when i started reading the series, i was very much a sophie hater. actually, that's a bit strong. i was a sophie . . . non-enjoyer. while part of it was definitely the fact that i was exposed only to people that hated on sophie, i also did think by myself that sophie was a tad annoying, to put it mildly.
i've talked extensively about how much i dislike keefe, as you've mentioned, and part of that isn't really about keefe at all, so much as it is the way the narrative frames keefe. and the narrative is . . . mostly sophie herself. surprising exactly nobody, i'm not a fan of the way she lets keefe walk all over her, and the way she's kind of a doormat when it comes to him. she lets him off the hook all the time, justifies the crap out of his behavior, and even when you can tell she feels something negative from whatever toxic trait he's exhibiting this time, she never says anything about it, except for once or twice (i've talked about the nightfall scene at length before, and how it results in zero character development for keefe, just the illusion of it, and same with the legacy thing). it would be incredibly satisfying to have sophie tell keefe something like "hey, if you keep ruining all our plans because you're too stupid/arrogant to let the plan go according to plan, then we won't be able to include you. sorry not sorry". yet she doesn't. and she doesn't even have a good reason most of the time. like in legacy, when she went to tell him that his mom had ordered tam to kill him, after tam had specifically told her not to do that, because they both know keefe makes atrocious decisions when it comes to his mom. and yet sophie still goes straight to him and decides to tell him!!!! and it's like why the fuck would you do that???? keefe needs to be put in his place, and unfortunately, it seems like sophie is the only person that has the power to do that. it annoys the fuck out of me that the fact that keefe is constantly shitty to her doesn't seem to affect their relationship in the slightest. she somehow still trusts him the same after all the shit he's put her through, she still thinks him smart despite evidence to the contrary, and in general, when it comes to keefe she's excruciatingly irrational and lenient. and it annoys me. like she's so logical everywhere else, why can't she be the same with keefe? it makes her character ridiculously inconsistent, to me at least. i won't talk about this any more than this because i've already ranted about it at length but: the answer to that is basically that shannon needs to keep shoving sokeefe and keefe loving sophie and sophie needing keefe down the audience's throats. it's very fan-service-y, but i'll leave it at that for now.
here's where i may make some people mad, so i would like to say that this is all what i used to think. i've since matured, so i don't really think this anymore. but her crush on fitz. oh, boy. when i first read the series i found it the epitome of annoying. i was basically screaming at her (mentally, i did read most of this series in school lmfao) to get it together the entire time. i was just like. sophie. just. stop being so weird around him! he's just a guy! there's no need to act like an idiot and a half every time you interact with him to the point where everyone around you can tell what's up! it gave me a ridiculous amount of secondhand embarrassment. i was like . . . sophie . . . you can have a crush . . . but you don't have to be so obvious and embarrassing about it. anyway. i've since realized i'm aro and also apparently somewhat emotionally repressed so i think i'm just not like sophie. but because i couldn't understand why the fuck she was letting the stupid crush drag her through the mud, socially speaking, i found it excruciating. although i now understand why sophie acts the way she does, even to this day when i read those scenes where keefe or biana or dex makes a comment that implies they know exactly what's up with sophie and fitz it makes me so embarrassed (secondhandedly speaking), like come on, sophie, can't you make your crush just a tad less obvious???? but i also get that that's just how sophie is. again, this is entirely a personal taste thing.
legacy sophie annoyed the crap out of me, not gonna lie. it was excruciating. keefe consistently told her, again and again, to reach out to fitz, to confide in fitz, to lean on fitz. and then! she doesn't!!!! the thing is i can't even necessarily be mad because she fully acknowledges herself that she was a bad girlfriend. but also it's like could you not have gone to fitz just once instead of keefe. just once!!!! he literally told you he'd go at your pace!!!! even after he knows about the matchmaking thing, he's still willing to be with her, and he also wants to help her search for her parents, something she has interest in at that point. just. watching sophie make a mess out of her relationship with fitz was so annoying to me. i would put around 90% of the blame of sophitz falling apart on sophie, because she's the one who consistently ignored him, despite being told not to do that exact thing by both himself and keefe. and it's like!!!! i get it!!!! it can't be easy knowing you're dating a guy who literally cannot be in a bad match after being told you're going to be a bad match. i get the perspective. but it was still hella annoying to read. i wanted sophie to properly communicate with fitz just once, just once, and the miscommunication grated on me the entire time. the miscommunication trope is one of my least favorites and god, i just wanted sophie to be a good girlfriend to fitz just once!!!! just once!!!! like you have fitz over here, doing literally everything he can to try to meet sophie halfway, beyond halfway, even, and then you have sophie, spitting in the fact of his efforts. it's hard not to get frustrated reading that.
there's also this small moment at the beginning of legacy where she gets super butthurt that keefe left her out of one of his personal projects that has nil to do with her, then tries to like . . . guilt keefe into telling her? almost? and it's the same thing keefe's always doing with her, and it's very shady. no, sophie, you do not have a right to know everything keefe knows just because you're his friend!!!! back off!!!! that same scene she flips through one of his personal notebooks without his permission while he looks visibly uncomfortable, too. stop it!!!! that's not yours!!!! keep your hands to yourself!!!!
and my least favorite thing sophie has ever done in the entire series happens in legacy too: hijacking fitz's project and letting alvar go. oh my goodness. i cannot even begin to describe how much that single (hmm maybe not single, but they're connected) action pissed me off. she knew for the entire book how hard fitz was working to find alvar! keefe explicitly states that he was feeling a mix of some very negative emotions, which is how he nailed down that him working on his dad's memories was about alvar. she knew he was dealing with keefe's ass dad for the sole purpose of trying to find alvar after the shitshow that went down in flashback, and she knew exactly what he was going through in that book as well!!!! and then!!!! she fucking hijacks his project, doesn't even have the decency to tell him, and tries to justify it with some bullshit "oh, your dad's gotten too good at pushing fitz around" stuff. like sophie. that's very talk-down-y to fitz. like he's not a little kid!!!! let him make decisions for himself!!!! stop taking his choice away!!!! and i don't like it. and then, when she succeeds at fitz's project, she doesn't even have the decency to tell him then!!!! like, girl, i don't know how i can continue to defend this!!!!
and then!!!! it gets fucking worse!!!! because she actively stops fitz from achieving the one goal he's been trying to achieve for the entire book (about three weeks, for context, it's actually the shortest kotlc book timeline-wise besides unlocked): trying to capture alvar. like, sophie. come on. and i do feel bad for keefe in this scene, i truly do. it's like the telling-sophie-to-confide-in-fitz thing, he's doing so much to try to keep their relationship together, and then when sophie's out here with a baseball bat fucking smashing it to pieces and he's just standing there watching it, you're like. okay, that must be painful. anyway, back to sophie. her reasoning is shit, this decision is shit, the fact that keefe is the one that tells fitz she let alvar go is shit, everything about this scene fucking sucks. as fitz said, not only is sophie more powerful than the average telepath, but she and fitz are cognates. there's pretty much no way they couldn't have gotten the secret from alvar, even if he supposedly knows how to hide the real story from the fakes. and!!!! that doesn't even consider the fact that sophie and keefe could've just backstabbed alvar. he was weak, and the deal was they'd let him go if he told them, right? well they could've just. not let him go!!!! that was a valid option!!!! it pisses me off that they didn't do that. the second sophie saw alvar, she should've been thinking about how fitz was looking for him and how she was going to capture him so fitz didn't go down a very dark path, the same thing she'd be thinking if it was gisela and keefe. but no!!!! she doesn't even consider capturing alvar a priority in the slightest, if not for the sake of capturing alvar itself, then at least for the sake of supporting her boyfriend. and that pisses me off.
i do agree that fitz's . . . method of communication . . . was not the greatest. that's why i think he deserves 10% of the blame. but everything he says was perfectly logical. he just says it very emotionally so it's difficult for sophie to think about anything other than the fact that he's yelling at her. but his points were valid.
and what actually pisses me off isn't that in and of itself, it's just how quickly the narrative just . . . lets sophie get away with it. when fitz and sophie do their shoddy little make-up at the end of legacy, there's never an implication that fitz feels some resentment toward sophie for stopping him from achieving his goal. like he just drops it instantly???? and he's the one apologizing, which he needed to, but sophie owed him an even bigger apology, like what she did to him could be considered some form of betrayal???? like sophie. you were wrong. you were wrong. when is the narrative going to let sophie be wrong, and not villainize the person saying she is???? she should've been apologizing to fitz for the shit she put him through this entire book, yet she did not. when fitz shows up she sighs and goes "is this about alvar" and fitz is like "no, of course not!!!! i would never!!!!" and i was like. this should be about alvar. stop making it out to be that fitz would be in the wrong for making it about alvar, he deserves to call sophie's ass out for that instantly!!!! sophie should be villainized for that action. but instead fitz drops it and it never comes up again. now i am truly pissed at sophie. just because she's the main character doesn't mean everything has to bend to her whims. she's allowed to learn and grow like everyone else.
basically, if keefe is the main reason i don't ship sokeefe, then sophie is the main reason i don't ship sophitz. that comparison will make sense to people who have read my anti keefe stuff, but if you haven't, ignore that.
moving onto unlocked sophie! i don't know what happened to sophie in these later books but i don't like it. there's one specific moment that really grates on me in unlocked, except that moment then expands over like four or something chapters. which for a sixteen-chapter-novella is . . . a lot. when keefe decides, in an uncharacteristically logical manner, to stay away from sophie because she seems to be making his abilities go out of control, she gets so butthurt and at this point i'm just sitting here rolling my eyes because i don't even know how to defend this anymore. she somehow manages to twist it in her head to make it out to be like, "keefe doesn't want me around!!!!" and then gets super butthurt at something . . . that isn't happening. in the slightest. and it's not even a logical conclusion to jump to!!!! she just fucking does!!!! and then!!!! the narrative supports this view by having keefe apologize to her in an incredibly forced scene for something . . . he didn't do. his offense was *checks notes* trying not to harm anyone with his new, dangerous ability by keeping someone who basically acts as an amplifier away. i can only assume shannon put this in here because she loves her forced consolation sokeefe scenes, whichever direction they may be in, because it makes no sense whatsoever and is just about the dumbest thing to have to make up over.
and burning the archetype pissed me off. to be clear: totally chill with her burning down the storehouse. but the archetype???? and then later she justifies it by saying "well, gisela hasn't come looking for it so it's probably not important". like no???? gisela tells sophie and keefe in nightfall that she has a photographic memory and has the entire thing memorized . . . please . . . can you tell i hate it when. stupid characters. i hate this!!!! it's not even like an understandable stupid decision! sophie makes tons of those throughout the series and they make sense! but they're still stupid (see: reading king dimitar's mind). this was straight up stupid stupid. it was so bad . . . so bad . . . ugh. she tells flori to keep the archetype safe, then like five seconds later changes her mind completely???? i can only assume shannon did this because the archetype would ruin the story (make it too easy if the crew got their hands on it), but then she didn't have to write the archetype into that scene at all!!!! done! i don't understand the decision here . . . it was so utterly stupid it scares me.
i don't like stellarlune sophie. i don't like stellarlune in general, but stellarlune sophie feels like a hyper-girlbossed caricature of sophie. kotlc has a major girlbosses-instead-of-proper-female-characters problem, and nothing illustrates that more than stellarlune sophie. if the elves were to make a movie out of sophie after this is all over that parades her around as a hero, they would characterize her as something close to stellarlune sophie. absolutely despise sophie's personality in that book (and the books leading up to it, legacy and unlocked). everyone's constantly telling sophie to her face how she's not that little girl anymore and how she's so grown up and how she doesn't take anyone's shit anymore (false, see: keefe) and how she has this badass new personality now and how they're a fan of her snark and this and that and the other and it makes me want to scream (because one, it's terrible writing, and two, it's just not true). one of shannon's worst examples of tell-not-show. i don't know how to describe stellarlune's entire vibe aside from "desperate". currently on lodestar in my reread (well, if my computer lets me back into the ebook) and i just. like sophie so much more in this book. she has good plans, she has some fight, she has somewhat of a sense of humor and the narrative isn't constantly spoonfeeding how cool she is at the reader. you're allowed to form your own opinions on her.
which is a good way to start talking about the things i like about sophie! i love sophie in books one through seven. there's a conversation in flashback with mr. forkle (blech) where he tells sophie that she may be ready for more responsibility in black swan, and it feels infinitely more natural than the weird spoonfeeding we get in the later books about how grown up sophie is, because you can feel that sophie in flashback is very different than sophie in keeper, and not in a weird over-the-top forced girlboss-ish way. i genuinely liked that scene, despite forkle (yucky).
okay, the storehouse fire. i liked it, as i mentioned earlier. it was a fantastic character moment for sophie. but what i like even more than that is that sophie faces a ton of opposition for it, both rational and irrational (irrational being the shit like "you just started a war" . . . to which i say, hello, where have to been for the last eight books, as well as the rational stuff like forkle saying that she didn't think before she started the fire, as well as the mid arguments of like "now the neverseen are going to be extra motivated to get revenge, and it's your fault, sophie"). because that's realistic! when you do anything bold like what sophie did, you are going to be met with lots of illogical and logical arguments for both sides. it's a lot to navigate, and it's a lesson in nuance. sophie now has to navigate this, and she does, for pretty much the rest of the book. in the end, you're sort of forced to sit with the fact that sophie's action wasn't perfect, nor was it horrible. it had bad sides (she did it somewhat recklessly) but it also had good sides (she did take out their soporidine stores and retrieve the caches). and that nuance is a fantastic addition to the story.
i like the concept behind sophie. outside kotlc tumblr, one of the main criticisms you'll see of sophie is that she's too overpowered . . . and it's like . . . yeah . . . nice job, you have successfully nailed down the premise of the series. do you want a cookie for this marvelous achievement. literally the point of the story is that sophie cannot defeat the neverseen with her numerous, powerful abilities alone. she can't. they have been planning this for years and unless she puts some serious thought and good planning into it, she will never be able to catch up. it doesn't matter how powerful she is, the neverseen are smarter. so what's the solution then? well, she has to sit down and come up with a solid plan to take them down. she has to go on the offensive instead of just defending herself and her loved ones. and you see her take that step in stellarlune. and most importantly, she has to stop being so reckless. this is the thing. sophie has shown throughout the series that she has a knack for being reckless. you see it with king dimitar, you see it with several other things. but the thing is that that's a flaw. it puts herself and others in danger and if she wants to take the neverseen down for good, she needs to work on that. in that way, the fact that sophie is so overpowered serves as a vehicle for character development: at one point she'll realize that it's just not enough. and she'll have to change accordingly.
i think sophie being faced with the fact that she'll likely end up having to kill a neverseen member is a good thread to introduce. i wish it had been done before stellarlune, because this series is gloriously repetitive, but better late than never, i suppose. i like that she knows that one day she may have to go there, and she's dealing with that beforehand and trying to stomach it before she can get there. i'm curious to see where this will go, and i'm not entirely certain it will go anywhere, since shannon has a tendency to drop random plot/character threads, but that will be interesting to see unfold (if it does).
sophie's character is about perspective. a change of perspective in a world that desperately needs it. and i like that. it's easy to see how the elves might carry on thinking their world is perfect, because that's all everyone talks about or verbalizes. like we know our world isn't perfect, only because we are taught the appropriate history and we have exposure to several resources that show us the sneaky (and not-so-sneaky) ways people are exploited. but the elves don't have that. if you are talentless or otherwise affected, it's like, well. you shut up, and i think you're even almost gaslighted into thinking yourself that the world is perfect because that's what everyone says. there is nobody to tell the elves to check their internal biases, there is nobody to show them all the ways their society is wrong. so sophie is valuable there. on top of that, people pay attention to her. this makes her perspective all the more valuable, because people will actually listen. and i think that concept is incredibly fascinating. i want to see a scene where sophie calls everyone out in a really bold way, where it's undeniable that she's poking holes through society's weak spots. so far, we haven't really seen her make any bold statements, just her checking her friends' biases every so often. but i hope that's where her story is going, and why shannon seems so obsessed with spoonfeeding us how bold sophie's getting.
obviously, as a reader, i'm dead curious about who her bio parents are. but i think it makes a lot of sense that sophie herself doesn't want to know unless provided with an incentive (matchmaking/fitz). it makes her even more fleshed out, because it sort of reminds you that sophie doesn't like any of this. given the choice she probably wouldn't even be a noble. she wants to be as detached from project moonlark as possible, because she doesn't like the spotlight. she doesn't want to know things because she's curious, she only wants to know them so that the neverseen can be defeated. and you see a sort of attitude of trying to be as detached from project moonlark as possible while still insisting that she's the moonlark, meaning she was designed to be a part of everything that's going on. that's really interesting to me. the relationship between sophie and project moonlark, and how it distorts her perception of herself. she doesn't like being the moonlark, yet she's obsessed with being a perfect one, she's obsessed with filling the role she tells herself she needs to fill. you can see how that leads to conversations like the ones where black swan members are telling her she wasn't really made for anything other than to be herself, and you see her grapple with that for the series.
tldr: i like the themes and general direction that sophie's arc and story appear to be going in, but there are a few things she does that i feel the narrative lets her off the hook far too easily for.

Ok i just said this to jesse but big oc ramble :P SECONDARY CHARACTER MENTION
Tumblr media
Again seraph’s portrait is not updated yet now they look like my pinned post..
I think this is very cute and im glad i finally forced myself to write a summary cuz it made me figure everything out.. at least i have a ballpark idea of a plot instead of entertaining all these different possibilities.. originally i didnt want roadkill to be popular enough to tour but.. small bands go on small tours all the time.. it would make the story WAYYY more fun. Seraph is literally trapped with them. And also .. going on tour is pretty good cover for murders. Way better than having him kill in his small town and somehow not get caught.. which doesnt make sense. Hes not that smart lol, but i guess being a dog is good cover already. I also want them to tour because i want the band to be a central part of the story.. if it wasn’t (like some other ideas ive had) it wouldnt even make sense to include.. it would be clunky.. so yes tour it is..!
I feel like im finally getting somewhere.. also yes ulysses is supposed to be there but im out of room in the carrd :( ill figure it out.. anyways i think this is such a good restarting point.. the only problem is its kind of a lie but i didnt know how to explain it short and sweet. Scotch is the only one who knows atlas’s identity at first, then seraph. Eloise doesnt know i think because she would probably want to call the cops. Or at the very least this news would split the group up (atlas n scotch dont want that for different reasons*) and she would never speak to atlas again cause of the whole murder thing. She would also convince seraph to get out of there asap, and atlas knows they would listen no matter how much they like him**. So, eloise knowing is not an option .. she’s very sweet but yea definitely would not be ok with any of this ..
Ulysses doesnt know cause he doesn’t WANT to know. He knows something sketchy is going on between atlas n scotch but, knowing scotch pretty well, he doesnt wanna get involved. Scotch secrets are very annoying to keep. He doesnt want to bother. Also hes kinda freaked out about it. Idk, maybe it will stay this way but i still have to work on ulysses so that may change…
Now ive got to find a way to work tex in. I dont think ive EVER mentioned tex on here before even though ive had them for yearssss, but they serve as like a mentor to atlas. Maybe 50 year old butch. I thought about making them a werewolf too but thats just dumb.. they probably knew a werewolf at one point though. Maybe had to kill one but they probably wouldnt let atlas know that. tex is kind of cruel towards seraph, which is unfortunate because theyre the only one experienced with werewolves. Would lead to a fun interaction in a tense situation though ^__^
* - atlas doesn’t want the band to split up firstly cause he knows it’ll suck for scotch, but also cause again.. touring is such good cover. Hes just hesitant to become big cause he doesnt know if it’ll make killing easier or harder. SCOTCH doesnt want to split up cause he loves eloise + same atlas reason + but also cause he NEEDS to get big for all the non-atlas reasons. Coming from a huge family, he didnt get much attention. Basically wants to show his family that he’s worthwhile (and wealthy.. if the band takes him that way) . I know a lot of info but LOL it has to be said..
** - on their own, seraph does come to know in their own time.. but again if eloise was the one to talk about it with them their reaction would be different. Their first thought is to get out of there, but again theyre trapped on tour. But in addition to that i think atlas makes them feel so special, and KNOWING this secret makes them feel even more special (and its kinda romantic LMAO), so even though they know they should run, they dont. Which is exactly atlas’s intention with the way he treats them. I think part of them knows the reason for keeping eloise in the dark, but by the time they realize all this and connect the murders with atlas, theyre in too deep with him lol. Sucks for them !

Hello—I’m happy to see you here!
You sounded pretty sure in some recent posts that Harry and Louis will eventually come out—either together or separately, with the latter less likely for Louis.
Coming out may not be as appealing to them as it was when they were much younger, because of the success they are both experiencing now, and maybe not wanting to take that risk to their popularity or earning potential.
I’m curious about your thoughts about the possibility of coming out. Or maybe what might lead up to it (you mentioned “seeding” the process).
I realize that this question assumes they are not straight; that is where I am starting from.
Thanks very much!
Hi sweet anon!
Yeah… look. I can understand exactly what you’re saying. As they’ve gotten older, they might even prefer their relationship to not be out to the general public for now, so they can both have their careers without it being overshadowed by Larry. They can actively chase what they want, and understand that coming out right now isn’t ideal for their relationship, or their careers.
However, they’re both very smart and I believe they’ll do it when they feel the time is right/when they are okay to do so. After being shoved down for so long, the feeling of freedom is definitely appealing to them, but coming out isn’t simple. It requires a million interviews after that, cleaning up stunts, trying not to break NDAs, scheduling, legalities and lawyers, and figuring out how best to do it all. It’s a long process so they both don’t get sued and break contracts and essentially lose their careers. I don’t think they would lose everything, per se, but while the industry is still full of old school bigwigs who think they know what’s best, Harry and louis can lose a lot. And while the thinking is “oh but we’d still love and support them!”, which we would, it’s a matter of then finding a team to help them further their careers and also continue to succeed. They would need managers/PR folks who KNOW what they’re doing, and while we don’t agree with a lot of the people who’ve represented them, those idiots unfortunately are very good at creating, and maintaining, successful careers for artists. Not having the big bosses behind you… well… it’s gonnna be very different, and a lot harder. And the music industry just isn’t far enough ahead yet to have managers/teams who are both extremely good at their job and able to handle the biggest stars in the world, and simultaneously are open minded.
Harry and Louis don’t wanna be managed by people who don’t support their love/lifestyle/who they are, but they have little choice right now to have a good team behind them. I know one of their Tour Managers who worked with one of them over the past little while, and that person is in their like… late 60s, and is rough around the edges, with very little care for the people they work with. This person gets the job done, brilliantly, makes sure everything is smooth and the tour goes great, but is very old school thinking and doesn’t care too much about the artists themselves, and what they want. It’s really sad, but unfortunately, that TM is chosen for these tours because of their experience. Not because they care about the artist themselves.
This TM fought tooth and nail about everything, said some really choice words, and actively thought this artist was ridiculous for what they wanted (which truly wasn’t that wild, but as an old school thinker, he doesn’t care for ex boyband members). Anyway, I’m actively watching all this go down in the industry right now. With the next generations, hopefully it’ll change. Just gotta let the old losers move on, and trust that H and L will do what’s best for them.

redgentleengie asked: [THE DEVIL] - Name a muse that is tempted by each of the capital vices (Pride, Greed, Wrath, Envy, Lust, Gluttony, Sloth). Can be the same muse for multiple vices. ; THE MAJOR ARCANA
Tumblr media
Power is THE definition of a prideful person. she is very full of himself and has believed herself to be the perfect kind of devil. humans are below them and no one could possibly overpower them in their moral standing. that, and she's simply better than humans. no argument can break her arugment down. you WILL be arguing with a brick wall for hours.
Tumblr media
and when it comes to Gluttony? man oh man... Lucifer is a good example. he's very attached with his belongings and wants to hoard them for himself. same goes for his hobbies. money doesn't exactly have a level of importance to him, but items do.
Tumblr media
there's no one more like an attention whore than Darlene. she is someone who wants everyone's attention because of her role in her community and what she brings to people. some would call her somebody addicted to the feeling of lust, but that isn't true. she is one to become EASILY jealous. even if its for a couple of minutes. she is a very envious person and is not afraid to show why.
Tumblr media
FRAN IS WHAT WRATH WOULD LOOK LIKE IF IT HAD A BABY WITH A MONSTER. she is a very angry person often times and it shows with how she fights people in South Park. in all of her friendships, it comes out in one way or another. the violence is always rampant either a little bit or by a lot. it doesn't help that she can control time so easily either to help with the rage.
Tumblr media
the "lust" in this scenario with Monika is the obsession for that love. becoming so attached to someone that she doesn't have a grasp on physically, so she does everything in her power to make their appearance a reality. and it may be temporary after realizing her mistakes, but it's REAL.
Tumblr media
Ouroboros is the epitomy of greed. being as selfish as he is, he will not let anything escape his tentacles with what he has his hands on. he is not one to give up things so easily. not only that, but he will also take whats his; this also will include other creatures on Planet 4546B. he's one of a kind, but not in a good way.
Tumblr media
with the toxicity of Diamond, she isn't exactly the most motivated person. she despises people, but doesn't put in the work to separate herself from that. she's often too engrossed to really move herself away from that kind of crowd, but you'll hear her talk about them. unfortunately, she's not a smart cookie and does not like people, yet is incredibly slow to do anything about it. she's a slothful person and it shows.

A little thing for catdr
WARNING
This does, In a sense, contain batdr spoilers
“Middy walked into the strange room. There were glass windows, behind each was a room.
There were six rooms. Each had a title right below them. Middy read them as she walked around the place.
“The demon” “the angel” “the damned” she read below each window. The angel and the damned windows were both broken.
I’m the damned room, there was a knocked over pedestal. In the angels, writing on the floor, in the all too familiar ink.
“Are you worthy to walk with angels?” It said. Middy continued walking. She noticed a room with the title “the liar” crossed out.
She then saw something move out of the corner of her eye. She turned around.
In a room titled “the creator”, there was a man. He was turned away from her, drawing something.
She went up to him. “Excuse me, sir?” She said as she lightly tapped the window.
The man jumped and froze. She could hear him gasp as his shoulders tensed. He slowly turned around.
“H-Honey?” He said in a voice trying not to cry. The man was in the decayed hello and black everything in this studio. Except for his right eye.
His right eye was a bright green. It almost flowed against the darkness surrounding them.
“Im not sure who this “honey” is. Im middy” she responded. She noticed he had a wound on his side.
It was covered and leaking black ink. There were….. tentacles wiggling out of it.
The fact that that’s not the worst thing she seen today….
“Do you…do you not remember me?” He asked. She looked at him to be sure.
“Afraid not, sir” she told the older man. He looked old enough to be her father.
He sighed and looked at her sadly. “I don’t think I could explain in a way you would believe.” He told her.
“Who are you?” She asked. He couldn’t look at her as he responded. “My names Raphael”
“Nice to meet you, Raphael” she said. “Raphs fine…. Or… raphie…” he gave a light smirk, still not looking at her.
She heard a light twang of a banjo behind her. She turned around. She hadn’t noticed there was another man across from raphie.
He was completely covered in ink, but he looked very different from the lost ones.
He had a patched brown hood and a white mask. An eerie smile was cut into the mask along with eyeholes that appeared to be unneeded.
She noticed a cross shaped hole in his chest, exposing his ribs, lungs and heart. He also had a red rosary wrapped around his wrist. He seemed to not notice her presence.
“Who is he?” She asked raphie as she went up to his window. The title below was “the musician”.
“My brother…or…. At least…. He was…” he stumbled. “The ink toon his mind, I’m afraid…” he said sadly.
“Why are you two here?” She asked. Raphies expression changed to determination.
“Saki sees us as a threat” he told her. “Why’s that?” She asked curiously.
“I’m not too sure, but there were two other prisoners here once and one of them is definitely a threat to everyone around her” raph stated.
“The angel and the damned” middy said as she realized. “Yes” raph confirmed.
“The damned is…. Unfortunately harmless, but the angel? Well, have you met the ink demon?” He asked.
“Yes. I have. In more than one form..” she said ominously as she became sad at her friends true identity.
“The angels just as powerful, but far harder to trick. She’s incredibly smart, but also completely mad. She managed to break out and took an d friend of hers…. And mine with her” he told her.
“If there’s any advice I could give, stay away from the angel. The demon may kill you, but the angel will destroy you” he finished.
“Good to know. Could I possibly get you out of here, friend?” She asked. He looked down.
“Fraid not, honey. Only someone in control of the technology here could free us” he responded.
“I’m so sorry” she said as she put her monstrous hand on the window.
“Don’t worry about it, dear” he started as he put his hand in front of hers, glass keeping’s their hands apart.
“I’ve been here a long time. I can wait a bit longer” he finished. She put her hand down as she prepared to walk off.
“Just… stay safe, darlin” he said as she walked off. He walked back to his chair and drawing.
He grabbed his pen as he continued trying to recreate a photo of him and his wife during their engagement party at work.
The woman had short, curly dirt blonde hair, rectangular glasses and skin as pale as Snow White.
Middy adjusted her rectangular glasses and ran her fingers through her short, curly hair as she nervously continued the journey ahead.”

Okay yeah they do
So a more detailed thingy... very long.
Tumblr media
When Usagi comes to visit, he's pretty much swarmed by his kids, anything they were doing before hand dropped in favor of being the first to scale their father and get his ears.
Of course, he entertains this, showering them in affections and cooing over them; he doesn't get to see them as much as he wishes, not with the recent troubles in his realm where they'll be in danger, and he'll be damned if he didn't get to at least tell them how wonderful they are and endulge in their curiosities.
Plus, Leo needs a break, and Usagi is pretty good with kids.
He keeps their little trinkets on him at all times when on solo-travels, and if it's too big or fragile, he'll put them in a special box, handled with the utmost care.
Even so, he still makes sure his little chaotic dragons keep to a set of rules. Otherwise, they might do something quite, well, chaotic.
One day, he might be able to let them visit their other home when it's safe.

Leonardo is one stressed out parent, mostly cause his brothers aren't much help when it comes to reeling in the kids. When he does get peace, it's usually spent meditating or practicing, although it usually is cut short by one of his children.
Either the twins fighting, Dai saying some questionable things, or his eldest son.
Out of all his beloved children, Akai is the closest to him, following him around whenever he's done playing with his siblings or his uncles, and always asking to be ninja like him, to his dad's absolute delight.
The two's bond strengthens as he teaches Akai, and soon, his brothers, and he couldn't be more proud of how they've come along.
Despite this, as they grow up to teens, he might have to apologize to his own father more than once.
Tumblr media
Raphael is that one "cool" uncle that you know is a bad influence, but he sleeps in the same house as you and is kind of a favorite.
Due to the chaos of the family life, Raph is less than keen to stay in a "cramped" home with a ton of "ankle-biters" (literally) running around. Unfortunately, they have him in a chokehold, so his only option is late night runs and vigilante business to get rid of the numbness of sitting down and babysitting.
One of the kids had joined in one of those runs, and now he's collecting scrap from the junkyard to appease his favo- nephew.
It really doesn't take much thought to see how Mura managed to connect with the "grumpiest" of them. And it didn't take much thought to see that he was fine with that.
Oh? No, He didn't supply him with titanium. Where would he even get it?
Tumblr media
Donatello may be the smart uncle, but he's definitely not the serious one. Ever since the kids came, he's been making so many fun stuff for them!
Sure, that might have been to prevent Mura from disassembling half of the lair, but it sure is fun! Even if some stuff explodes from time to time, and you come to certain terrifying realizations with the kids.
The most concerning being the little cryptic message giving Dai that always said the craziest shit at the worst moments before babbling to himself about a choo-choo the next
Now, he might have subjected the possible mystic filled child to a few SAFE experiments in exchange for "swabears" and doodling on his bandages, but that was for science. And because he was the only kid that wouldn't bite him.
He's a very good lab assistant.
Tumblr media
Michelangelo is the COOL uncle, and don't forget it, Aoi designated him as such. His sources? Just ask the apple slice stuffed face of the kid.
Bribery is a very effective tool.
So is trickery, which he is a master at. He even has an apprentice. Aoi was always very excitable, never staying still for even a second(way more than he could remember himself being) and always having a mind filled with plans and random thoughts.
Which is perfect for pranks.
Unfortunately, it seems he somehow inherited his father's kitchen curse. So he'll have to wait for an assistant chef later...
Thats all!
Also, yeah, Raph is Aroace :)
Tumblr media
The adults, much more scarred than before(might add April, Casey, and possibly Splinter in a later post)
Each one of them have a story to tell, but they would rather show it. For now...
Also, while I was making this, I was rewatching the series again after completing it, and I got reminded that Leo does not like clothes, so that was convient-
The babies don't play favorites >_>

Book Review: A Confederacy of Dunces
Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole
394 pages
Comedy fiction
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
Reviewed by: Anon.
When Mrs. Reilly gets into a car accident, her 30-year-old son Ignatius must get out of the house for once and seek out a job to help pay for the damage. Unfortunately, he is too lazy for the world physically and too smart for it mentally, resulting in him attempting to start uprisings in his various workplaces.
I found this book overall fascinating and immersive from the beginning. The use of alliteration, the jaunty layout of events, and the vibrant, exaggerated characters create a world that seems real enough to be ours, yet wacky enough to be a dreamscape. I loved the lively story structure, the crazy situations the characters got tangled up in, but most of all I found the main character’s lines extremely amusing. He always had the last word. What he said may not have always made sense, but it was funny nearly every time.
I will say that this was kind of an advanced book for me due to its historical inside jokes and academic language choices (I had to do a fair amount of Googling). It was also saturated with so much detail that it made it difficult to concentrate on what had just taken place at certain points. While this did not necessarily repel me from continuing to read, this book may require a second or third reading to fully comprehend.
A character I identified with was Jones. His goal was to try to improve his social status, and his passion for his goal really got to me. I enjoyed seeing him try different things in order to get what he sought. His lines were also quite sassy and smart, and I found the exaggeration of his character entertaining. I also liked Myrna Minkoff a lot; she was feisty, optimistic and determined, and I loved her contrast with grumpy Ignatius.
I feel as though this book would appeal to fans of Catcher in the Rye by J. D. Salinger. The main characters of both books wore flappy hunting caps wherever they went and were also annoyed to the point of psychological imbalance by society’s shortcomings. The main difference is that Confederacy of Dunces is far more lighthearted than Catcher in the Rye, making it seem as though the world isn’t as bad a place as it is in the main character’s mind after all.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book! I would definitely recommend it to someone in search of something a little different to read. It won the Pulitzer Prize, as well. Before I read it, I used to get disappointed and feel let down whenever the comic relief in a story started showing vulnerability. This book portrayed this situation in a more empathetic light, balancing it out more effectively than usual and allowing me to realize that “funny-character vulnerability” doesn’t have to be a disappointing thing. I think this book will leave readers refreshed and feeling lighthearted, and overall, I’d say they won’t regret reading this book.
“The Logical Song” by Supertramp
This song is sung in a way reminiscent of how the main character, Ignatius, would speak. It sounds like his plea not to be thought insane, a motif throughout the book. Ignatius is a very intellectual person but his thoughts are confused and muddled together, resulting in him seeming like a madman and getting into trouble. Ignatius wants nothing more than to bury his sorrows in his knowledge and pride, and this song seems to reflect his inner thoughts in its lyrics and his pomposity in its tune.
“Wriggle (Mr. Jukes Remix)” by Cosmo Sheldrake
“Wriggle (feat. Mr. Jukes)” by Cosmo Sheldrake uses whimsical instruments like tuba and tambourine and combines them with serious, wise-sounding lyrics. This is congruent to the bouncy, rompy feel of the novel, in which characters face absurd situations and the antics of even wackier individuals. All the while, though, there is an undertone of their very valid emotions and their impact on the characters’ present states. It symbolizes how a great deal of depth is often hidden beneath comedy.
“I Am A Rock” by Simon & Garfunkel
This song is a true representation of Ignatius’ nature. As an extreme cynic and a man of immense laziness, he could indeed be comparable to a rock. This song further reveals how some people who put up walls of feigned lack of feeling are often concealing traumatic pasts. This applies to Ignatius, who had lost someone he loved and then faced a downward spiral in mental health in the years following. But at the same time, the song flows across a bouncy and easy mood, evoking the pace of New Orleans, the story’s setting (off tourist season) and the mindsets of his neighbors, who casually make their mistakes and seem mellow compared to uptight, melodramatic Ignatius.
“Lay All Your Love on Me” by ABBA
This song shares the bouncy rhythm of others on this playlist, but it features diminished chords, causing it to seem a bit mischievous and vengeful. This speaks to the scene in the story when Ignatius plots to make his long-distance girlfriend Myrna jealous by seeking out a dancer he saw in a photograph. Myrna had previously written letters describing all the bright, progressive hippie men she’d encountered (the story is set in the early 1960s), which made Ignatius envious and planted therein a seed of revenge.
“Young Man’s Game” by Fleet Foxes
Even though Ignatius is not necessarily as much a young man as he is an average adult, he still lives in a quixotic dreamlife typical of the immature. The lyric, “Ive been solving for the meaning of life; no one tried before and likely I’m right” is actually evocative of something he would say. The lyric “you’re my last hope” symbolizes the love for Myrna he keeps hidden beneath his uncaring facade, since when she returns to visit him in New Orleans in the last chapter, he completely changes as if her presence was the cure for his suffering.
“In the Hall of the Mountain King” by Grieg
This iconic classical piece was actually mentioned by the author (and other book bloggers like myself). It quite accurately represents the gathering intensity of the plot, which comes to a crescendo towards the third quarter of the novel, peaking with Ignatius getting attacked by a trained stunt bird while watching a show. This then gets publicly released in the newspaper, and the word spreads to his mother, who decides it may be time for him to receive some help at a sanitarium.
  “Stupid” by Brendan Maclean
This song represents Ignatius’ slightly endearing cynicism. This gives him an unusual trait as a character, creating an anti-hero who disagrees with and plans to hinder the paths of nearly every other character, yet simultaneously resonates with the reader’s subconscious appeal. While this song also resonates with Ignatius’ jealousy of Myrna’s activist friends, its peppy mood leaves the listener with a feeling similar to the one they’re left with at the novel’s conclusion.
  “Heathens” by AURORA
“Heathens” by AURORA is a song about the songwriter’s theories on religion. A Confederacy of Dunces is riddled with mythical and historical references, often delivered melodramatically by Ignatius (either in his diary entries or his impromptu speeches to unsuspecting neighbors). This ballad’s dramatic nature indicates Ignatius’ fervor when trying to justify how his personal literary passions could improve society.
“It’s The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine) by R.E.M
This song is evocative of the way Ignatius’ incredulous thoughts must sound inside his head, as well as the brilliantly silly way in which his neighbors react to their respective absurd dilemmas. It represents how, at the end of the day, life is just a big comedy of errors, and it’ll all work out in the end.
“Facts of Life” by Lime Cordiale
This song reminds me of Ignatius’ constant strife for change, Myrna’s search for believers of her theory (that romantic relationships solve all problems), and Mrs. Reilly’s continuous attempts in vain to help her son… The song’s lighthearted feel symbolizes that life is just one big paradox, and things will happen no matter what route one takes or plan one makes (just like in this book, in which the characters eventually come to terms with the absurd randomness of their respective lives).

sorry for the late reply i have been buried in wedding festivities for a cousin! i still need to watch udaari and rehai (shame on me i know lololol) so i don’t have a comparison to work off of unfortunately but ig the closest thing kuch ankahi might have done was having one of the characters rally her reluctant friends to report one of their professors so he could be investigated and removed for sexually harassing multiple women. there was also the main family helping their house maid out by helping her son apply to and attend school and then protecting her from her abusive husband so he could shape up. i think kuch ankahi’s problem was that it tackled good issues but bc it had so many plot threads running it wasn’t necessarily able to delve as much into a deeper reality as some people would have liked. the problems characters faced were absolutely real but some of the solutions were somewhat idealized (in terms of characters coming around to doing the right thing) bc they had to wrap the threads up by the end and there were so many threads to wrap up to begin with
that being said, what i liked about kuch ankahi was its focus on “behavioral” empowerment rather than necessarily empowerment by doing some big specific thing, if that makes sense. the characters did have concrete goals and obstacles but the drama was largely focused on daily living for women. so you had sajal’s character focused on the working woman’s experience (the unrealistic expectations, the judgment from society when you appear too independent, the awkward pressures from your boss, the resignation to doing work you don’t like bc you need the money, etc), mira’s character focused on the married woman’s experience (giving into a long engagement bc your mother feared what people would say if you broke it off, trying to exercise patience and kindness to make the marriage work, realizing those things alone aren’t enough if your spouse truly is not invested in you and you deserve better, taking a stand for yourself to separate so that you don’t have to live in a suffocating environment), and so on and so forth
the drama overall felt cathartic bc it was portraying things that were real to women’s daily experiences and while somewhat idealized was trying to give women the courage and support to take a stand for themselves in their daily lives. so the female characters did make plenty of mistakes but those mistakes were also learning lessons and if you understood how much love the director and writer had for the characters then you recognized they weren’t mistakes meant to make the female characters look stupid. there were a lot of complaints that sajal’s character was stupid for constantly doing her boss’s bidding but for one thing she desperately needed money to help buy out her family home before they were evicted and for another she did learn to navigate her professional life and take a stand for herself where needed. people also immensely criticized mira’s character for being so stupid as to go ahead with a marriage she didn’t want merely bc she didn’t want to upset her mother but for some reason none of these viewers understood there was a purpose to depicting this arc where she would eventually take a stand for herself and separate once she realized a marriage couldn’t be made off of goodwill alone
i don’t hate umeed as a character and find her to be quite endearing despite her immaturity and chaotic nature, but it was so odd to see the same people who were constantly championing her as a win for feminism dunking on the above characters bc they didn’t make the immediately smart and independent decisions. like i mentioned in the last ask, the love for umeed is definitely part of a reactionary response to how much we’re used to seeing utterly subjugated women in a range of dramas, so i get feeling attached to her more take-charge and self serving nature (although to her credit that may be too simplistic a descriptor. she does learn to care for and take account of others eventually). but women like the characters in kuch ankahi do exist in the real world and i’m honestly a bit concerned that people would rather condescend to them for being idiots then sympathize with their situations and support a narrative that encourages them to take a stand for themselves too. esp in a family oriented drama that actively involved the parents in their children’s trials and pushed them to recognize their own mistakes in handling their children’s affairs. for some reason people don’t even have a sense anymore for what counts as depicting sympathetic realism versus what counts as glorification. maybe tere bin skewed everyone’s radars lol
ooh hope you having fun at the wedding festivities! i know they can be tiring and overwhelming for the most part but there's joy to be found in those moments! i too had a very busy weekend..literally ab jaake koi breather mila hai.
my opinion of KA is that it was trying to be too many things at once. like i get the intention of it and for the most part the show had its hands on the realism button. but instead of doing an average job of many things, wouldn't a good job of one thing be better? like with Rehai and Udaari (which is a must watch show btw and I highly highly recommend it! the performances, the story, the sensitivity with which the story was handled, the overall message and ending..it balanced the drama with the optimism and did not fall prey to sensationalizing a highly sensitive topic for the ratings. AND WOULDN'T YOU KNOW - THE RATINGS AND POPULARITY STILL CAME!!!) the show was focused on 1-2 related social issues which the Foundation was interested in raising awareness about and all of that was balanced by the love story between Urwa and Farhan so we had that as a respite. at no point the horrors became SO overwhelming ke dekhne ka dil hi na chahe. the heart and mind were working in tandem there when the creators got together to make that show so the criticisms about the areas where the show faltered were not ones about the narrative or the pace but more of a couple of acting choices of the actors (whatever the fuck was the Hocane brother doing there i'd never know..Hum ne apna nepotism ka chaddha nahin chorhna kabhi)
idk what Sajal's arc was in KA as well i paid like 0.1% attention to her but the initial reviews of the show that I did follow complained about Mira's character's cowardness. and I agree with them? like..I also had the same complain ke behan, what was forcing you to be married in a family where there was no respect either for you or your family? her father and siblings had her back. she had an open out which she didn't take for no other reason than Ami ka dil rakhna hai. yeah the character ultimately had the arc of her standing up for herself and the mother also ultimately regretted forcing her daughter in a position that put her through so much misery. the complains were that what Mira's character went through is not a unique alien thing. these stories happen all the time. literally every desi household has such story. zaroori nahin hai ke aap dhaka kha ke hi seekho. dusron ko dhaka kha ke dekh ke bhi aap sambhal sakte ho. those were the complains. the family had a feeling this rishta was off. the family had a feeling the daughter will have to struggle. the show is set in current times, right? it's not DurreShehwar where the times were old and the in-laws portrayed such a promising picture for the daughter's future that the family happily got the daughter married. the red flags were all there. and the narrative was giving the character an out. which she didn't take. yes, a woman's agency and all is great but it's not easy to applause when the agency has her swallow ankhon dekhi makhi only to spit out. jab pata tha ke thookna hi hai toh mooh mein daala kyun? it's these...frustrations of the audiences which didn't have them support that character. because for MANY people, they'd kill to be in her position where the family was ready to support the girl if she chooses to break a potentially toxic rishta. so to watch a character have the option of those choices and still not choose to utilize them..annoyance toh honi hai.
(again, haven't watched KA so if i have missed out on the nuances that's a given. i am just going by what i have gathered the crux of Mira's character is)
I see how the above paragraph is putting me in the same list of people you mentioned who are not sympathetic towards characters that don't make immediately smart and independent decisions. but the thing is, it's 2023. the situations where the characters can gain sympathy for not knowing any better have changed. willingly putting yourself in a relationship where you know there's no love or respect is not the story that needs to be told in 2023. or if it is being told the narrative style and choices have to change (like with Iqbal in Yunhi). yehi kahani decades se chalti arahi hai in dramas and written fiction. same lesson kitni baar dohraya jaega? it's not a surprise that a fatigue has settled in. yeah, a character not making immediate smart decisions in a professional work place IS a new story because our dramas don't show career oriented women. a character actively balancing their personal and professional life IS a new story cuz majority of our characters on TV only have the personal life (which revolves around shaadi) to speak of. a young woman trusting their partner and sending them intimate pictures IS a cautionary tale to be told because these topics are not discussed openly. but jaan boojh ke aisi family mein shaadi karna jahan izzat nahin milne wali? yeh toh koi nayi baat nahin.
when Hayat in Yeh Raha Dil gets scammed by her friends into selling her house in exchange of a ticket to Nepal, that makes sense because Hayat's entire character in that point was such that that decision to be trusting made sense. Sonia's character in Aisi Hai Tanhai sends compromising pictures of her to her fiance which later get leaked, the sympathies are still with her because she was trusting the man she was in love with and whom she was set to marry. the tragedy that later happens becomes a tale of caution for the audiences at home. i am not saying women HAVE to be perfect and they cannot make mistakes. they can. they SHOULD. but the mistakes should have some undeniable logic behind them. warna yeah, they fall in the category of stupidity.

for the ask game LILITH
youve doomed yourself im not going to answer this ask for like an hour because ill be saying so much. shes in my head 24/7
illget around to the hunter ask too!!! just maybe in a little while because of how much im about to say
What I like about them
high int low wis build. stupidest cheeto puff but i say it affectionately. anyway its like. shes trying SO HARD. its obvious she is doing her best throughout the entire show but shes like. A fucking realistically written character who is misguided and MASSIVELY FUCKING UP AT EVERY TURN. but she's TRYING she's trying REALLY HARD. she WANTS to be a good person she WANTS to help eda she WANTS to fix things!!!! unfortunately for her shes narratively doomed.
What I dislike about them
high int low wis build but like. negative. shes so fucking smart but she totally lacks any common sense. she would not be able to do half the shit she does if she weren't *really* smart, but also she simply would not have done half the shit she does if she weren't *really* dumb. schrodinger's intellect
Favourite moment
ALL of elsewhere and elsewhen. like yes girl. punch that bitch in the face. be incredibly suspicious all episode and still be susceptible to manipulation because you're still healing. realize you've hit your lifelong 'nearly killing your niece' quota and that eda will actually genuinely maybe murder you if you let her nearly get killed again.
Least favourite moment
hm. now like she definitely has a lot worse moments but i gotta say keeping up afearances. like girl no. that's an 8 year old. stop projecting your insane mommy issue game onto an excited 8 year old. he did nothing. i want to grab her and shake her back and forth like a maraca jesus CHRIST.
A situation with this character that I want to see explored more
HER SCOUT YEARS!!! Put her on that fucking mountain. Girl vs allconsuming guilt vs the cult she just joined who will WIN. i DONT KNOW BUT THE GIRL WILL DEFINITELY LOSE HOLY **SHIT!!!!** Also just her time in the coven in general.... i would KILL for a spinoff i know its not happening but AHEEHEE....
An interesting AU for this character
you know what i WILL advertise my own au. this may become a fic at some point but right now im just fistfighting the plot trying to get it to behave. the working title is Lilith Clawthorne's Time Loop Extravaganza.
i KNOW ive told you about this but whateve.r.
lilith, 16 years old, like 13 months out from cursing eda, gets a week off home because the golden guard fufking dies. naturally, she, genius, decides to clean out her room to avoid interacting with her family. finds her time pool shit. goes Oh.... and then spends a full day at the library researching time magic that doesn't spit you out at just some randomass time. finds a spell. traps herself in a time loop going from the day before the golden guard dies to the next week. and we go from there!
A crossover
HM. i have a encanto/toh crossover au thats really silly. shes not a main character in it (shocking i know) but its great.
realistically gravity falls is hilarious. she finds out eda married a guy, stole his car, immediately drove it into a ditch, transformed, stole half of kfc's stock, and then left and shes like ?????????
OTP (or OT3+ etc…. just… favourite ship)
no <3
Other ships?
no <3
BROTP
her and hunter are fucking hialrious and i NEED to see them interact it would be so goddamn funny. they're like. SORT OF FRIENDS. but if anything goes wrong they instantly throw each other under the bus. i think they're on bad terms for s1 because of the basilisk escape though <//3
also her and eda but thats just a given because im deeply abnormal about the clawthorne sisters.
her and darius also! theyre so fucking funny. little bit of a rant here but i think that scouts are paired into like .teams for training exercises and shit. and i also think that darius was a scout for a while up until the mountain trial at which point he, having already been considering leaving, quit. so i think she and him were partners when they were both scouts and had a liiiiittle bit of a falling out when he quit. and then when he becomes a coven head too its like Oh. Hi.
NOTP
all of it <3 especially though i see lilith/belos disturbingly often when im just scrolling and like. eugh.
however NOTP in terms of friends. hm. no clue i think her as friends with most everyone is highly entertaining. because shes so terrible at everything. i do, however, think she hates kikimora and stays as far away as she can from her at all times always.
An assortment of headcanons!
OKAYYY. I've told you like most of these because i never stop talking about her sorry but don't even worry about it.
SO! That mask she has in s1! The one she wears literally twice! That gem on it is the same type of gem that Odalia has on Amity. She hates it and goes out of her way not to wear it.
despite it being the boiling isles with an insanely warm climate when shes in the coven she literally just straight up doesn't have any short sleeve shirts. this is thanks to her being deranged.
so. ears. witch body language. et cetera et cetera. lilith has the resting bitch face of a lifetime* but she never got a handle on that.
RELATED: she got into shit really often when she was a scout for Literally Just Stimming because Its the emperors coven and the emperors coven is the probable literal least welcoming place for autistic people on the entire isles. shes resorted to just messing with her hair because she can totally excuse it with like ohhh my hair was messed up blah blah. i do this actually but just because not because of any elaborate plan to get away with stimming in public.
in s1 shes on anxiety meds but they're like the most fucking insanely outdated prescription ever. hasn't gotten adjusted since she was 18. same with her glasses. in s2, however, eda manages to badger her into seeing a healer (hypocrite, eda has not seen a healer in 30 years either) and she gets her meds & glasses prescription updated. still on anxiety meds, also on antipsychotics now. a little bit of why shes so much more stable** in s2b! yes girl, get on meds that actually work for you! holy shit why have you not seen a doctor already!
*Resting Bitch Face may not extend to embarrassment call (NUMBER) to buy today
**trying to start a cult in her 8 year old nephews name is the exception and not the rule

@spoocys-glade-of-dreams
"Wait what?!" Jesse sighed. He could have asked for his fellow resistance members and Murfy for help?! Now he just felt like a giant idiot. Not that he already didn't feel like one after the stunt he pulled. Then there was subject of treating Ellie like some sort of trophy. Boy did he feel extremely guilty about that one.
"I...put Ellie on some sort of pedestal, like some sort of goddesses that was out of reach. But at the same time...I wanted to be with her. She was beautiful, smart, selfless, and brave. Unfortunately, I didn't have the confidence to tell her how I really felt. Let alone show anyone my true feelings. I've never been good at expressing my emotions. The only one I showed my true feelings to and understood me was my childhood friend Rosemary."
"It was her idea to join Natalie's resistance group, because like everyone else, she was of course sick of Eden's bullshit and where ever she went I went. She was the one that kept me in check and was basically my rock. I know when she was alive, Ellie and Rosemary often butted heads but other than that they would get along pretty well."
"I think Ellie said one time that her friendship with Rosemary reminded her of your friendship with Ramon. I guess....it was pretty similar." The blonde paused for a moment, thinking back to the moment that his friend died. "Rosemary died saving Ellie. I blame myself all the time for not being able to save her. I miss her everyday."
"Ever since she died on one of our missions, I took a mental downspiral. It just seemed like I was colder to my fellow resistance members as usual. Then of course I had this crazy idea of waiting until after I graduated medical school to apologize to Ellie and confess my feelings to her. Even though Rosemary was gone, I knew I at least had Ellie in my life."
"But then she was starting to become interested in Ramon, and I basically went from being worried about her, to being jealous, to just....being this evil monster with no soul. If Rosemary was alive, I would never have done any of what I just did to Ellie...to anyone...I've felt so lost without her...."
"I've been a huge mess for a long time and I've only come to this realization now. God, I'm such a pathetic piece of trash of a human being, it's not even funny. With that being said, I would like to do an overhaul on my mental well being and my demeanor in general. At the same time, I don't know what Natalie and the others have in store for me in regards to my fate, so I have to keep that in mind as well."
"I figured that's what Hoyt would do. Honestly, regardless of who has this type of information, it's for the best that I don't go into the medical field. It may have been my dream job for the longest time, but that doesn't mean I would have been cut out for it. I guess the only bright side to this is at least I don't have to worry about student loans. Rosemary helped me get a scholarship for medical school."
"I know no one trusts me after the shit I just pulled, but I have no intention of contacting Ramon and Ellie. The last thing they need is to be bothered by me. I wish them nothing but happiness and I hope their together for a long time. Ramon will no doubt flourish as an amazing resistance member. Based on what I saw at Hoyt's Warehouse, he definitely has the skills to back that up."
--------‐---------------------------
"It was...really intense back there. I know it will definitely take me some time to heal. But I know I don't have to go through all this alone. So...that helps..." Ellie received the first aid kit from Mona and smiled. "Thank you, for coming to save me too. I really appreciate you there and Bullfrog as well."
Tumblr media
"Honey...I...have a first aid kit if you'd like me to help patch your wounds." The woman sat next to him on the sofa. "It just seems like yesterday that I was the one that saved your life. Now your the one that saved my life. Guess we've come full circle huh?"
"That's where you're wrong, Jesse. Look we may have been angry at you, but if you sought me out for genuine help when you needed it, I don't tend to hold grudges. I would have tried helped you.
Instead you chose to be selfish, and almost cost my team and Ellie their lives. That's not love. She's not some trophy for people to win. She can make her own decisions. Considering you weren't afraid to put your hands on her and put her life in danger like that, you need to get yourself in check if you want any chance at a healthy relationship and a job.
Hoyt's still runnin' around out there, and I know he's in contact with the higher ups of Eden. I have a feeling that you may have just gotten yourself blacklisted from your dream career. I know Hoyt. He's the type to do this if someone crosses him and they get away with their lives. Only reason Rayman's allow to roam free after everything is because the high council is afraid of this story getting out there. They've been trying to censor, silence, and hide it. And now you got to see why I brought Rayman onto the team in the first place. Not only does he have some good fighting skills, but he tends to keep a level head even in stressful situations like this one. He does slip up sometimes, but no one is perfect.
I'll tell you what I'm going to do with you, Jesse. I'm going to contact Natallie and update her on this situation since one of her team members was involved. Then I will be getting in contact with my boyfriend. Maybe you've heard of Floyd before. I'm going to tell him what happened here today. It'll be up to him on what he does with this information, but it's possible that you won't have a career in the medical field within Eden anymore. If Floyd doesn't do it, The high council will. You will not have contact with Rayman or Ellie unless they ask you for it. If I hear that you've been trying to get in contact with them and they don't want you to, I'll step in and I will make sure you never bother them again.
Tumblr media
Do not cross me like this again Jesse. If you do, you'll find I can be a lot less merciful than Rayman."
--------------------------------------
*Back outside the office where Murfy was speaking to Jesse, Ramon was sitting on the sofa in silence. He was just staring at the floor. He was in deep thought about everything that had happened, and the adrenaline was finally wearing off. He didn't know if Ellie wanted to be comforted or hugged right now, so he chose to just keep to himself for now.
*Raymona would enter the bathroom and grab the medical kit. She would walk to Ellie and holds the kit out for her to take.*
"Here's the first aid kit if you want to tend to Ramon's wounds. I know he's kinda quiet right now but I think the situation's finally setting in for him. He may not know if you want to be comforted or left alone right now. He does that sometimes when he doesn't know what to do. Just sits there in silence until someone gives him the okay for that.
Bullfrog and I will be around. Holler if you need us."

Inspired by this amazing post. You should go check it out.
Kinn is a fucking softie, fam. I never understood this strange assumption that he's this evil boogeyman. Considering the show he's on and compared to the other characters on this show, he's probably the most tame out of everyone on this show. Kinn wears his emotions on his sleeve and he's so easy to read. Especially when it comes to people who know him best. He can hide who he is around his enemies and allies, but he's an open book around those closest to him.
Not to say this is a bad thing, because it’s not. We love a softie who can do what needs to be done when necessary. Kinn cares too fucking much and I would definitely like to see him treat the people around him the way they treat him but I know he wouldn't do that. He can stand to be more selfish and less merciful, but we have to understand that's not who Kinn is. At his core, he cares about his people (canon fact). Kinn's selflessness comes at a price. It's why he's drowning. Mentally, he's unwell and he just allows certain things to happen to him and he doesn't retaliate when he could or should. I wonder if he allows it because he feels like he deserves it? 🤔 Does he think he deserves to be treated like an afterthought? Just as long as he's receiving the requited love he's always wanted, maybe. I'm sure that's the effects of Korn's abuse as Kinn doesn't know love without conditions. He doesn't know how to receive unconditional love as he's never had it, so he overlooks betrayal as long as he's still loved. He won’t rock the boat because he’s been conditioned to believe the only way he can obtain and maintain validation and approval from those he loves is if he turns a blind eye to the bad things.
Despite this selflessness, Kinn is not stupid. He's far more intelligent than people give him credit for. You don't have to believe he's smart and that's your right, but that wouldn't be factually true. That wouldn't be accurate according to canon. Regardless of how the writers wrote him (or didn't write him) in the last half of the season, Kinn sees all. He notices everything. He knows when something isn't necessarily right. He won't confront the issue and he won't discuss it, because he thinks it's normal. It's normal for him to receive that kind of love. I love Porsche but his shenanigans would have been enough to make the average person leave without question. The mixed signals that come with his actions would make a perfectly stable person to wonder if he even loves them. That's just something to note. I'm not saying that Kinn is this innocent uwu baby, but I am saying that Porsche isn't innocent either.
Korn has established a baseline for the way Kinn receives love. I don’t doubt that Kinn may have realized that Tawan wasn’t the real thing, but I think Kinn overlooked what was right in front of his face due to his upbringing. It all goes back to the way Korn uses his children as pawns in a chess game. Kinn has an abusive father who doesn’t raise a hand to him but he wields words in a way that doesn’t leave any room for agency and choice. I don’t think Kinn realizes he has a choice in the matter. He accepts whatever he can get, because it appears as if Korn held his love over Kinn’s head just as long as he did what he’s told. Just as long as he’s Daddy’s perfect little mafia heir, he will get that love. Unfortunately, he won’t ever reach that point of realization until he confronts that issue and receives professional help dealing with it. Kinn is trapped in a mental prison his father has created for him.
