I absolutely don't hate it and hold no ill will toward anyone who is into it and enjoys the whole thing, but I've seen the trailers, the teasers, the endless interview clips with Ariana and Cynthia, and I'm just...meh. anyway if we’re talking movie musical adaptations. hunchback would be amazing but it would HAVE to be done correctly. like must have roma ppl cast as roma roles (including quasimodo i fear many forget his mother was roma). every character needs to be able to sing their mf face off and tbh they gotta get rid of the whole “going to heaven means being cured of disabilities thing” like that is genuinely crazy. it NEEDS to feel gothic and scary. patrick page literally has to play frollo its not often i am deeply attached to the original actor but he just. IS frollo. they should also get me in that mf recording studio for the choral features of course

honestly not really. i kind of spent the entire film distracted by thoughts of "okay so anything he's doing billy could conceivably do which is Kind Of Terrifying but i bet freddy would geek if he found out they could withstand a missile shot" and also "okay how do i put billy in a situation that can give me an excuse to write him losing control of his powers like this because by GOD i need that fic in my life."

i feel like they wouldn't necessarily be enemies especially if adam found out they were kids but i wonder if there'd be any resentment there about like. chosen champion or something. idk. my issue (? strong word. not really an issue just a fact for me maybe) with black adam is i was getting just. zero emotional resonance from adam as a character. at a couple points i was like oo okay that's kinda sad but mostly he was just there to make deadpan one-liners which DID make me laugh but did not exactly capture my heart the same way shazam did. (when dr. fate was going off to fight sabbac i legitimately paused to dm my friend that i was watching discount fury of the gods because like. dude. that's just the dome all or none scene but idek who these dudes are lmao.)

i am mildly resentful, though, that we didn't get to see shazam in the after-credits like it was supposed to be (from what i've heard anyway) because like five seconds of anything tangentially related to my blorbo can motivate me to watch almost anything.

WARNING: Spoilers from the movie (Transformers One 2024). First love, angst, fluff. Meh, didn't felt too sure with this one but I hope y'all like it!

You and D-16 have grown to become Orion's saviours when he is being chased by the guards.

You worked at the mines as well, and Orion was always the bot to bright your shifts. If he was not getting in trouble or being a little menace to his best friend, he was with you.

He always tries to make you laugh or have a conversation with you before Elita pulls him away from distracting you.

He shares with you his wish to help not only the miners, but also every single cybertronian about the whole energon situation. And that makes your spark buzz with warm feelings.

"Wanna become our hero, Orion?"

"I just want to help... buuut I wouldn't mind becoming your hero!"

"Orion, get back to work!"

Orion Pax always felt his spark twirl whenever he saw you work ("(Y/N) always works so hard!"), when he sees you help someone. ("Maybe the guards could learn a thing or two about (Y/N)...") - D-16 always groans about how annoying Orion is as he never shut ups about you.

When the race day arrived, Orion had to constantly remind himself of his own plan, but he was slightly angry at himself since the opportunity to sit by your side and have fun was going to be sacrificed for this time.

Of course... losing in such a humiliating way actually made him want to become stardust. But he remained positive - and even more when Sentinel Prime told him and D-16 they inspired the miners! The idea of having inspired you made him nearly squeal.

... Aaand now, whenever the picture of your faceplate comes to his mind Orion is worried - when he is thrown into the lower levels with D-16 has him wondering if you are okay. And when he and his friends find out the true? His worry only grows.

In the whole journey you become a light of hope for him - to keep pushing and running, to go back to Iacon and reveal the true to bring his people justice and for you, too.

And believe me when I tell you - when he is back at Iacon, he hugs you as if he hasn't seen you in years. "(Y/N)!" He says, happy, as you hug him back in surprise and smile, in awe at how changed he looked.

Such a soft smile he gave you as he held you, your optics and his staring at each other. And let's not talk about how his speech made you and your friends find a new hope and will to fight for your rights and what it was correct.

On the whole plan to stop Sentinel, Orion prayed for Primus for you to be safe and sound.

The moment Orion Pax managed to push Sentinel out of the way and be the one to recieve D-16's canon firing, he felt pain - but not only from having half his body blown away, but for having heard your cry of despair as you had witnessed his murder.

In the pain of having seen his once best friend let him go to die, Orion Pax can only think on everything he did, on his friends, his people... You.

"Primus... that's how I am leaving them? With... the sight of my death? Leaving them... to cry?"

But despair doesn't remain, as Orion comes back as Optimus Prime and fights against Megatron - for his planet, for his people, to be able to bring justice and live another day with you.

When everything is done and Megatron is vanished with his new found followers, he finds himself hugging you closely, letting you cry in his hold as he thanks Primus for giving him a chance to see you again.

"Please - please, never leave again!" You sob, grateful for having him back in your arms.

"My spark will always call back for you, (Y/N) - I'll never leave you again."

Hehe, listening to My Clematis (from Alien Stage) as I was writing the part of Orion's death and Optimus' rebirth was something wild.

I read the Gladiator II screenplay so you don't have to...

... and by GOD, it is bad. (Screencaps under the cut!)

First of all: I found Gladiator II overall disappointing and ver messy - the carelessness and cliches of a lot of dialogues, the unnecessary animal suffering, but perhaps most of all the editing job felt terrible. So when Deadline put the script online today, I had to dive in to look up what was going on. A LOT got cut from the final edit (and shouldn't have, because it made the storyline messier and weaker), but what particularly stood out is 1) David Scarpa (screenwriter) is fucking gross when it comes to female characters, and 2) I think about every single fic writer here on Tumblr could do better at both the story line but especially the dialogue.

This script is a hot mess and I just found myself yelling at it at so many moments. I'm not gonna disect it here with my own opinion, but I did screencap pretty much all the Acacius scenes that had lines which didn't make it into the movie (or additional scenes that.. puzzled me). So if you're curious... strap in and hold on tight, because lord this is a ride. Ridley wasted so much talent, budget and film imo -- I find it actually startling that a director like him would go for a screenplay like this PLUS underutilize so many really excellent actors (especially Pedro and May Calamaway).

Again, this is pretty much a photo dump of things that stood out to me - you can read the whole thing on Deadline but tbh, spare yourself that time.

I Am Dying A Thousand Deaths…

I’m currently watching the director’s cut of Napoleon by Ridley Scott. There is quite a bit new material that does fill out the story, explains things better and overall makes the movie flow better. There are gross inaccuracies still that makes the Napoleonic historian, us, cringe, but the average viewer wouldn’t care.

Some scenes are good, some are meh and then a few like what the hell am I looking at?

I haven’t been through the whole movie yet because I have to stop it every now and then but I had to stop and talk about this fucking scene.

Napoleon seeks out Hippolyte Charles to get advice on how to get Josephine pregnant.

Scene opens with Hippolyte waiting to be summoned by the Emperor and he seems nervous because he probably thinks Napoleon is going to confront him on his affair with the wife. Cannons are being fired outside randomly, who the fuck knows why, and every explosion makes Charles fidget more and look more guilty.

He is summoned.

Napoleon asks him if he can keep this conversation to himself and be discreet. Charles agrees. Napoleon then asks if he has children.

Yes, he has three sons, he says.

Napoleon asks if it took long (the act) to conceive.

Charles says he can’t remember.

Napoleon then asks, I shit you not, “is it important to pleasure a lady before you enter her”

Charles is like “dude” and mumbles about loving his wife. Napoleon says he loves his wife too and doesn’t want Charles to be shy, speak openly. Charles says he doesn’t know what the FUCK is going on.

Napoleon then says, again I shit you not, “tell me is it important for me to use my mouth down below between my wife’s legs before I enter her. “

The fuck is going on! Am I having a stroke? Am I stroking out?

Charles says he believes that a more a woman is aroused the more likely she is to conceive.

Napoleon thanks him and says he sought him out because he is a man of good “cocksmanship”, has a pretty face and the aire of a hairdresser.

I want to throw myself out of a window. I am dying watching this. Not laughter, like I want to go crawl under the bed and never come out again.
