To Libby/DogDay, do you like any other movies?
Like, for example, Kiki special delivery, Spirited Away, Transformers, Porco Rosso, and My Neighbor Totoro?
Dogday: As you noticed, I'm already renewed. They gave me a new coat, fixed my legs and most importantly… I have a nice new voice box! (It's a girl's voice and it's weird to hear myself like that, but I'm just going to have to get used to it)
Tumblr media
Dogday: While I was recovering or I waited between operations I watched a lot of movies from that studio "Gibi"
Tumblr media
Dogday: and god; I loved them!! It's a little strange because as a human I looked a lot like several of the girls… especially because of the haircut (and I would have died for a dress that cute)
Tumblr media
Dogday: But, I loved Porco Rozzo very much!the planes, the duels; it was all very cool! and the way Porco talks reminds me of how Mr. Angel talks *giggles*
Tumblr media
Dogday: …I think Carlo Bugatti And Mr. Bubbaphant would have liked that movie too… Mr. Bubbaphant really liked war movies and Carlo liked airplanes… *doggy sobs*

Summary of the panel with Jeff and Taz
(@pure-jeff-ward if you're interested)
1-"what the devil fruit taste like?" According to Jeff, a devil fruit tastes like watermelon and chocolate
2 - "what's changed in your life since One Piece? " (as far as I understood) Taz told Jeff changed his life. And Jeff is impressed by Taz's dedication concerning his training, joking about the fact that he was kinda jealous that Taz was muscled compared to him but mostly he admires Taz. He's happy to be him friends with him. Afterwards Taz hugged him. (So cute!)
3-Their favorite scene of One Piece(series) is the last battle scene with Sanji and Zoro. Jeff joked about Buggy not fighting, saying "it's really hard to train to disassemble your body and all, I can't do that now because I'm tired" and Taz was in fits!
4- favorite music :Jeff loves hip hop and apparently rap and Taz likes all kind of music except techno. He likes when there is a beginning and an end to a song, songs that are constructed. (for example, he was playing Blink-182 on his phone while signing autographs and AC/DC during the photo ops)
5- favorite anime: Jeff likes Ghibli movies ("my neighbor totoro" and "spirited away") and Cowboy Bebop if I got it well, Taz likes Trygun currently.
6- favorite memory of the set: Taz loved explosions in the water. He was afraid because he was resting in his tent, so got out like "what's happening?" but then found it funny and amazing. Jeff talked about winning against Iñaki on FIFA (He said "destroying his ego" or something in the same vein. )
7-favorite character from One Piece who's not in the show yet: Jeff has chosen Trafalgar Law right away because he really likes his power. Taz wants to meet Sanji's dad and brothers, wondering what height they'd be. (On that point Jeff teased him for minutes after saying "they could be this size.... Or this size.. So funny!)
8- "if your character ordered food what would it be?" Buggy would order something and send it back, even if it's what he ordered, screaming and breaking everything around just for the fun of it. Sanji would order/make tart, he does this for very special people only.
9-Taz loves doing salads on set but the guys aren't keen on it. So he makes dishes in which he uses butter and salt for everybody to like it. Jeff added"that made me fall in love with him" 😂😂😂
10- "If you were in Avatar the last Airbender, which element would you like to bend?" : Taz said fire and Jeff said he'd like to bend all of them, like Hang
11-the last question was for Taz. "how do you deal with injuries?" Jeff said he ignores them lol but Taz said it was not wrong because "if it hurts nevermind." Yet, he uses ice bags if it hurts too much. He added that one day he was so hurt he called his dad and was shouting on the phone like he was dying lol.

Here’s a wholesome Charlie and Mammon idea I’ve had for a while:
Often when Mammon babysat little Charlie, she’d more or less climb all over him like a little monkey or have him carry her around like the little princess she was. This would frequently lead to Mammon have to go about his day with Charlie perched on his shoulder or sleeping on top of his head. None of Mammon’s employees or servants would comment on this for fear of provoking him and the other Sins (and Lilith) would either fawn or jealously fume at the sight.
Going off of the above, I can also imagine a young Charlie laying on a Mammon’s stomach, My Neighbor Totoro-style.
YESSS!!!!!💚💚💚
Mam is a soft lad and a loving uncle. I love the idea of him being Charlie's favorite pillow, so forgive for ranting about it with the following HCs.
The Sins had a rough schedule for when they would babysit and Charlie would get super pouty when Mammon could make it.
I like to think that out of all her aunts and uncles, Mam talked to Charlie the most when she was just starting to talk and one day she called him "Unky" and he damn near sobbed on the spot.
The nickname stuck over the years and made the others, especially Ozz, really butthurt. Example:
----
*during a meeting*
Amsodeus: So, Luci, need me to fill in tonight?
Lucifer: Oh, no, that reminds me actually, Mammon, do you think you could look after Charlie tonight, she really wants to see you again.
Mammon: Sure, love t-
Asmodeus: Hold the fucking phone, what do you mean she "wants to see him"? How do you know that? She can barely speak!
Lucifer: She drew this. *Pulls out a drawing with a little red triangle labeled "ME" and a bunch of green triangle labeled "Unky"*
Mammon: Aww... Can I keep it.
Lucifer: No. This is going on the fridge.
*after the meeting*
Asmodeus: Why do you get to be Unky? >:{
Mammon: Cuz I'm her favorite. >8)
Amsodeus: No you're not! (Author's note, yes he is)
----
Another idea I had was that when Charlie's a little older her private tutors would give her homework and she'd always work on her math when Mam was looking after her.
Since Mam's the businessman to end all businessmen he sure as shit wasn't gonna let his niece be bad at math. He'd keep her company while she was doing her homework and give her some tips if she got stuck, without just telling her the answer. Usually they would do this routine while he was laying down and holding any books Charlie wasn't currently using as Charlie laid on top of him.
I know this was way more than you asked for but I love the money spider and think about him probably more than is healthy.

Sometimes it can be a pain working in a kinda rich neighborhood, but sometimes it can be great. For example, today I got some things for free:
My Neighbor Totoro and Porco Rosso on DVD (left in front of the library as a donation, along with a bunch of previous-gen video games. We don't take donations Like That, unfortunately, but the games will go to libraries with those systems, at least)
A cool black long coat (which will need to be hemmed because it literally goes to my soles, but hey someone was throwing it out and I'm a goth at heart)
A literal betta fish (someone left him at the library and I said 'well if they don't come back for him, I don't want him to stay in that little container all weekend' and, sure enough, they didn't come back so I guess I have a fish now)

okay so i have no clue what the timelines are on this one so maybe there are already documented Opinions somewhere that i am not aware of, but having watched like four or five studio ghibli films for the first time ever in rapid succession, i am utterly convinced that tolkien would have loved ghibli movies. my neighbor totoro has no grand world-ending stakes but it is a brilliant example of the little things in the world and why they matter just as much as the big ones. spirited away is chock-full of people being good and kind to one another, who are helpful to a scared little girl solely for the sake of doing so, and they watch as that same little girl shows kindness in return to those who did not ask for or deserve it. the bakery owner in kiki's delivery service takes one look at this scrawny thirteen y/o girl with nowhere to go and goes "she needs help, and i can help her, never mind the inconvenience." samwise goes with frodo knowing that he will get nothing out of doing so, knowing that he is only inviting hardship, and he chooses to be go anyway because he knows that this is a storm that frodo cannot weather alone. frodo, for his part, shows kindness to gollum, a sickly, twisted creature who would kill him if he needed to and has done nothing to deserve such goodness. studio ghibli, and likewise lotr and the hobbit, have at their respective cores an undying belief in the inherent goodness of humanity.
it's no wonder that these franchises have had the profound impact on people that they have. they rejoice in the natural beauty of the world, and they look at it and say "yes, it might be difficult. it might be scary. it might be painful. but be good anyway," and in the midst of a world that promotes self-interest and self-preservation above all else, that is a blindingly powerful message to espouse.

-akira kurusu (joker) headcannons-
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
First of all, THEATER KID.
You simply can not tell me that he is not an overdramatic theater kid who does the most at all times, especially when he was a kid.
But this led him to be seen as “odd” and outcasted by the people around him in the which made him extremely lonely, he wasn’t bullied but he didn’t have any friends
Because of this he kinda closed himself off to fit more into the societal norms and not be seen as strange which is why he’s so quiet and keeps to himself all the time
Which made him partially excited to go to shibuya because despite it being a pretty shitty situation, being on probation and arrested for something that wasn’t even his fault, he thought that maybe in the big city he’ll find some people that won’t think he’s weird and can open up to which he ended up getting with the thieves  but his hope was only temporarily diminished with his record being leaked
Holy fuck that was long but, moving on, I think he has a very poor relationship with his parents, especially after being convicted of assault.
I don’t think his parents hate him by any means but they’re definitely neglectful based on the fact joker doesn’t get a single call, text, or a letter from them
What i personally think is that his parents are the type of parents to do the bare minimum and do nothing else for him
In a sense his parents sort of gave up on him because of his “eccentric”  behavior and him getting arrested might have solififed that for that for them and even if not they’re definitely not on his side when it comes to the whole assault thing which could be why they never contact him
Okay the last two were pretty angsty but moving on,
He has like, zero experience with girls and he’s the most oblivious mf ever
And because he wasn’t really popular at his old school (for the aforementioned reasons) he got ZERO bitches, none, cero.
This is actually another headcanon that i really don’t have an explanation for but when he moved way more girls started liking him because of people thinking he was this bad boy and he had NO idea how to deal with that
Like for a while he just thought people were just being weirdly nice to him
Like he is the type of guy who unintentionally flirty like just natural charisma with looks
Like you have to be insanely obvious for him to even take a hint
Adding onto the headcanon that you have to be insanely obvious to get him to notice that you like him, once he does realize  that you like him like one of two things is going to happen:
One, if your not that close than he has no idea what to do about that and he’s just slightly more awkward than usual
But two, if you are that close, he is BOLD. despite he is not knowing how to flirt for shit he is still charming enough that his horrible attempts at flirting and teasing somehow work
Because he has no cannon birthday other than the year he is born (2000) my personal thought is that he’s born on valentines day, there’s no elaboration for this one just a gut feeling
I feel like he has a vivid imagination of scenarios
Like for example he can imagine an entire plot for a musical at three am and exactly how it would go
Morgana and sojiro have frequently told him to shut up and go to bed
Also he has insomnia. I just felt like I should throw that into there.
Him, sojiro, and futaba have movie nights once a weekend and ninety percent of the time it’ll be a horror, old movies, or a studio ghibli movie
Texas chainsaw massacre, kill bill, sadako vs kayako, jacobs ladder, don’t look up, my neighbor totoro, spirted away, sailor moon r, ponyo, etc
60 precent of the time futaba picks the movie
I have no explanation for this one but him in the metaverse is very much christian borle coded in a way i can’t explain i swear (please i beg of you listen to hard to be a bard from something rotten its so good)

People don't watch Bluey because it's a children's show, but because it shows an accurate depiction of a healthy family, cute and sometimes gorgeous visuals and above all, has heart-felt messages about topics like unconditional love, death, grief, relationship issues, the difficulties of parenthood and various other things.
And the show isn't a Dora level of intellectually simple, it's a show made to be enjoyed by both parent and child and therefore goofy and funny for the kids but with a clear narrative to enjoy for adults too. It's a really well-written family show.
Think of it more as a ghibli movie like My Neighbor Totoro. The show is very slice of life like that. If you want to check it out, I'd highly recommend watching episode Sleepytime or Camping!
lmao I'm like. extremely aware children's shows focus on showing healthy relationships between friends and family, and teaching good morals and are capable of handling topics people usually have debates whether it's ok to talk to children about, I'm not a imbecile who thinks all kids shows are just bright colours where they talk down to kids.
bluey was only brought up because it's one of the most popular shows around right now because i was talking about a very specific group of people who have a absurd idea of what they believe is "adult media" when it is discussed online and over the past 2 years bluey is always the example
I think I'll be ok not watching bluey 🙏 there's other media that covers the same topics and themes bluey does. I don't think its ever gonna be on my TV unless my baby cousins are around but um that's cool

Zep! Question time! Do you recall ever getting inspired by something very random and then you got a fic out of it? For example, one time I went to the bookstore and then later on thought, huh, that'd make a good imagine with Dean. Also, because I know us writers are quirky and like to nest, what do you have on your desk/surround yourself with/environment do you like to be in when you write? I know I have my own setup that works best for me. Happy Saturday! 💕
Hey girl!! Fine Saturday we're having. I just moved into my new apartment, so I'm finally getting to catch up with Tumblr stuff (and you! 💕).
And what great questions! I love that you got inspired at a bookstore. (Sounds like a nice little prompt for an imagine!) As you know, I get inspired by songs I fall in love with, but also by things I read, and most recently, things I daydream.
I daydream a lot actually. 😂 Especially when I'm trying to fall asleep. I think of scenarios and scenes in my head, like a little bedtime story. And they often later become actual stories! Midnight Espresso came from one of those late-night dream sessions lol.
Tumblr media
But sometimes it's as simple as a random video (like the one of Jensen letting his girls practically smother him that later inspired Green).
As for your second question, I actually work from home so my desktop is mainly for when I'm in "work mode." And I just moved, so I haven't set up my desk fully yet, but besides my notepad and stuff, I typically have one of the paintings I've made above my computer (a pandemic hobby that became a real hobby), along with one of my diplomas. Oh! And a little Totoro figurine from My Neighbor Totoro lol. I love Hiyao Miyazaki movies.
I do most of my creative writing on my laptop though. If I'm not chilling on my couch with my lap-desk to write with a snuggly throw blanket and some music on and/or incense, then I'm doing it from my dining room table, often with a candle on, or sometimes a glass of wine (and always music).
I like my chill vibes so I can create in peace lol.
What about you? I'm curious what your preferred setup is like. 💕

Hey there, quick question! In this blog we see critiques of character designs, so, could you give us some examples of characters and shows that you feel do a great job at designing, and that we should learn about?
Ooh. Good question. Might be difficult to answer concisely since there are so friggin' many, but I'll do my best.
So right off the bat I'll say that there's a difference between design and art style, at least in terms of objectivity. Art style's really just the icing on the cake, not the cake itself. The style of a character design might not be to your taste, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have good bones.
Take the South Park art style, for instance. It's flat and crude, and many folks don't find it appealing. But that's exactly the point. The intentionally lazy-looking and childish style used to render the characters perfectly reflects the show's irreverent and juvenile humor (plus the simplistic designs are much easier to animate quickly, meaning each episode stays relevant to whichever topic of the week it's satirizing). Even if you don't like the South Park designs, from a technical standpoint, they're well-suited for the show they're in.
I bring this up to illustrate that a technically "good" character design communicates what the character's creator intended. This list isn't about which art styles I like or don't like; it's about how successfully the designs embody the characters' personalities and roles in their respective stories.
Here's a collection of character designs that particularly stood out to me, usually due to an interesting use of shapes, proportion variation, and/or color.
Tumblr media
Also notice how these characters are instantly recognizable in silhouette. Even if you're not familiar with any of them, it's easy to distinguish one character from another.
Tumblr media
Other designs I think work well (but I couldn't find good standalone images for them):
Macha from "Song of the Sea"
Tumblr media
Francoeur from "A Monster in Paris"
Tumblr media
The Catbus from "My Neighbor Totoro"
Tumblr media
I'm sure there are more that just slip my mind at the moment, but that's a solid group. (For a while I've also been thinking about doing a tier list for each generation of Pokemon designs. We'll see.)
Now you have an overview of which designs are strong in my opinion, but it'll help to look at media you like, pick out the designs you think work the best, and analyze why they work. It doesn't have to be your favorite design, either! Again, just because you don't find a certain design aesthetically pleasing doesn't mean it's not functioning exactly as intended. A building can be ugly but still structurally sound, y'know?
Thanks for asking! Hope that helps!

Q. 1 Reading 1 Translation
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anime Film Director Miyazaki Hayao
If you speak about Japanese anime film directors, undoubtedly you mean Miyazaki Hayao. "Spirited Away" is especially popular of his works. This was the movie that won an Academy Award in 2003. If you're a person who likes anime, then you have probably seen "Princess Mononoke" and "My Neighbor Totoro" as well.
His anime stories have messages about environmental problems and many things that make adults think. Director Miyazaki has white hair and a white beard and wears glasses with black frames. The smiling face of the director makes him seem nice, but he's very strict when making his films. For example, he makes the staff draw the pictures many times to be exactly as he says.
He looks at the pictures of meat the staff drew, and seems to have many things to be angry about, " this meat looks like gum", "this looks too hard", "This looks too soft", and "Think and draw again!"
Also, it seems that merly a 4 second scene can take more than 1 year to make. The director said, "I don't want to make disgraceful work". Because of that, in order to do good work, from day to night he works without really taking a break. He eats lunch, and dinner in 5 minutes. He also doesn't use his precious time for TV or hobbies. When he was younger, he seemed to work from 9am to 5am the next day.
For that, because of his strict ways with himself, he's made beautiful artistic animation. The pictures and stories of his works are amazing and people will continue to love them forever.
Profile Introduction:
He was born in 1941 in Tokyo. As a child, Miyazaki was good at drawing pictures. He loved reading manga and drawing the images. Because he watched anime in high school, he came to have an interest in anime. After graduating from university in order to become an anime artist, he became employed at an anime company. After that, he presented many works to film festivals like the Berlin Film Festival. In 2014 he became the 2nd Japanese person to receive an Academy Honor Award.

If you want an example of stories without much conflict but that are still enjoyable I'd recommend looking up the more slice of life ghibli movies such as my neighbor Totoro and more. The thing is tho, those movies aren't meant to be interesting, they're meant to be comforting and relaxing. Something you could watch after a hard day to unwind and not have to think of anything for a few hours. I actually think LO would enjoy ghibli if she wasn't so damn racist
even those movies have some form of conflict on them. in my neighbor totoro one of the little girls gets lost and her sister has to find her. of course that everything turns out alright in the end, but there was a moment of tension in which we didn't know if they were going to be able to find her. most slice of life manga/anime is truly nothing else but the daily life of a certain character. "a man and his cat" is the story of an old cat finding love and comfort with his new owner, nothing more and nothing else. "the way of the househusband" is an anime about an ex-yakuza just doing house chores and being a good husband. all the entertainment value comes from the character still treating his chores like a yakuza and weirding out people or the juxtaposition between a tough looking guy and him hanging out with housewives to talk about the discount at the market. even if you were a raging racist against anything coming from an asian country, there's still many western webcomic or comics that are about the characters living humorous situations without an overarching plot or need of an actual conflict. MO talked about how her favorite comic of all times is Garfield, which is a perfect example of this. the thing is, because LO refuses to expand on her library, refuses recommendations and refuses to actively search outside of her tiny comfort bubble, she won't ever talk about those works and instead keep insisting that the works that manage to enter into her bubble should be modified to fit her preferences, or else they're bad.

—The sounds of horns, beeps, loud whistles, or people shouting usually upset me a little.
—I don't usually like things that have a raw consistency, for example: in food, in cases of roasts or meats, I feel that they have to be burned at the exact point, or that red or undercooked areas cannot be shown. The same thing happens with the nerves or veins of the same flesh.
—Places with a lot of people talking, or in awkward silence. (Regarding people talking, I have nothing against it, I just don't like the moments where they tend to raise their voice, or that may be on purpose)
(Btw, my English is not very good, I wrote this in Google Translate, My main language is Spanish, that means I am Hispanic, I am very sorry if I ever make a mistake)

My favorite relationship tropes=
1. Old married couple trope
They fight and insult each other constantly and are annozed of one another. But secretly they know each other best, and they love each other's quirks and personality. But are so against the idea to show weakness that their energy and love just burst out of nowhere.
Example="JUST KISS ME STUPID!"
2. Silent awkwards
The silent awkwards are just two people, fresh in love that have no idea how to relationship. Possibly long years of introversion (perhaps even autistic tendencies) that lead to zero knowledge of love. They both love each other but it will take a long time for them to warm up.
Example=" Do you want to, you know... Kiss... ? Or watch my neighbor totoro? Or check out this cute cat meme? Hehe. Its cute. I love cats."
3. Wanna-be badass and the actual badass
You know the one. The barking little chihuahua and the german shepherd that just watches out for the chihuahua and fucks your shit up if you actually mess with it.
But like as people.
Example=
Chihuahua= " YEAH YOU BETTER WALK AWAY [insert insult]! Wait, is that a knife?"
*German shepherd takes out attacker*
German shepherd="You good?"
Chihuahua= *shaking like hell*"Y-YEAH I WAS ABOUT TO BEAT HIM UP!"

Sometimes I feel like Howl’s Moving Castle is not the best example of a Studio Ghibli movie
It’s not whimsy in the same way as My Neighbor Totoro or Ponyo. I want to say it has too much plot, but idk what it is. Maybe it’s that it doesn’t revel in the mundanity in the same way the other films tend to. Like the cleaning scene in Totoro and the soup thing in Ponyo. Maybe I haven’t watched enough Ghibli films

ok time for my book journaling, yes spoilers included. this time for the Long Way to a Small Angry Plxnet by Becky Chxmbers
i personally really enjoyed it - s/o to zoe for reccing it to me. it’s one of those that’s very introspective about the human condition even if done through alien means. one of the biggest themes of the book is being good and loving one another is a choice, and one that’s worth it, and y’know im a sucker for that. it gives you that perspective through the eyes of many and the different ways people stick to that. and it also offers you different perspectives on many other different things that we wouldn’t think twice about.
like sissix and the whole aandrisks not getting attached at all to the babies bc so many of them die, and the babies and children not seen as people. and it’s interesting to see her perspective vs the perspective of the human crew who would obviously reflect our views, and how it’s even stated most of the GC doesn’t fall in line with that. and then sissix hits you with the well yeah why would i love something that barely has any thoughts when i could give all my love to someone with full fledged experiences with friends and family who love them and all. and in the context of a fictional reptilian alien species who, like many reptilian species, very few of them survive into adulthood, you get where she’s coming from - or you don’t - regardless it’s your choice, but obviously in an irl human context that's called You’re A Horrible Fucking Parent. but it’s interesting to rotate in a fictional space with her as an adaptation to how her species works, especially since once visiting her home planet you know the children are likely well taken care of and how aandrisks have a lot of care and love for each other (culturally speaking. barring things like what happened to the old lady at the market who was a metaphor for communities ostracizing aneurotypical people). and you know sissix herself throughout the book as a very loving person but that was just one example - and it was interesting to see other examples throughout the book of taking specific things that are just How We As People Work, turning it on it’s head and recontextualizing it within this scifi world with so many aliens with so many different ways of working. makes you think about how humans work and why we do as we do - both condemnation for our wars and violence and appreciation for all the good things we can do. and neutrality for some of the things we do too that just Are. though granted funny some things like the “humans are so modest with all their clothes!” taken as a universal human thing which is just a part of the author’s own biases (not a dig at them, biases will always exist and they stated their worldbuilding for humans as a hodgepodge of cultures stitched together after a mass loss of human culture and knowledge through a planet-extinction event caused by a more advanced stage of what’s happening today) just yknow as someone who some of my ancestors didn’t wear a lot of clothes, and because there’s so many people who don’t adhere to wxstern chrxstian standards of modesty, it’s funny to read as an absolute. found out a lot of people complained about the lack of buildup and payoff, and personally im not mad about that. felt very much like a you’re along for the ride and the journey’s what you’re here for more than the destination. i enjoyed every step of the worldbuilding and the interpersonal relationships of the characters, and that’s what made it worthwhile to me. feels like;;; i guess the closest thing i can attribute it to is how the studio ghibli movies like my neighbor totoro are. it’s not the typical plot of buildup climax, build down or whatever the actual words for it are, but the ride is wonderful nonetheless. rather than the Big Events happening in story and being given a lot of time, you’re more walked through in the aftermath about how the characters feel about it and how it’s affected them going forward, and i liked that. it’s fresh. also was in the library grinning like a madman that chapter when rosemary got that alien pussy bc it was _so_ funny going through sissix’s pov bc she had to actively think to try to parse out rosemary’s advances. like god that whole bit where sissix was like ?? ok something’s different??? she’s dressing in slightly different clothes and her neckline is a lot lower i guess??? and she’s looking at me in a way she doesn’t usually??? ohhHH!!!! OH!!!! let me make sure you’re into this and we’re on the same page actually bc i know how you guys work and i want to make sure you’re ok.... OK YEAH LETS GO. it was so fucking funny. one thing that i found interesting and would have liked a little more indepth for was corbin’s deal after basically violating ohan’s bodily autonomy and separating him from the whisperer. without the indepthness it’s fine bc it’s hinted that corbin dealt with a lot of ostracization afterwards and in the end it seemed like ohan and corbin were implied to have formed a friendship or at least continuously talked in a way that neither of them did before, but i would have liked to seen how the author went about a bit more of it - especially bc it’s such an interesting scenario of of course you should never violate someone’s bodily autonomy but this is in a completely fictional scifi setting where this species of super monkey people are infected with some virus that gives them super knowledge but also are maybe driven to think the virus is its own sentient species that is much akin to a holy being, and this virus drives them to an early death which corbin was trying to save ohan from. wild but at the very least i think fitting for the crewmembers with the least screentime and with the least social personalities. but at the same time i will admit, leaving it less detailed is fitting for it bc it’s such a gray situation to begin with, and leaving so many details unspoken lends to that scenario. also funny in the last bits when rosemary was saying all that shit in the meeting room with the temeri there i was like bitch!!! i thought you read those emails that were sent to you!!!! those bitches can hear you!!!!!! granted there might have been an ‘unread’ in the file somewhere there but idr. but interesting that rosemary’s introduction started with her begging not to fuck this up this time, the themes of her having been inexperienced but having growned and learned, and then at the end her carelessness (or just the timing that she didn’t get to read the email) did jumpstart something that killed one of their crew. but at the end of the day it wasn’t her fault and none of them will know, bc it was strictly that one temeri dude’s fault for being Like That and if it wasn’t then it would’ve been some other time. but all you can think in the book is it happened, and there’s no going back, and all they can do is move forward bc it just truly wasn’t her fault for someone else’s violence. but anyways, good book, once i get through my queue i’ll look into the second one.
