I've just been reminded that I made an AMV about Todoroki 5 years ago. I never uploaded it publicly bc it was 'unfinished' as it didn't have the final encounter I wanted to include (the fight with All for One). It is 2 minutes and 45 seconds long, the first time I'd ever edited video, and with the benefit of experience I can say it slaps! I wish I'd known to be proud at the time. I'm proud now.

Meet my Rise/Pokemon AU!! Waaaah this has been on my mind for MONTHS now. Pokemon is that one fixation that'll never leave me. I'm THAT pokemon fan that knows WAAAAY too much about the games and lore. For those that don't know,

Raph is Drednaw

Leo is Wartortle

Mikey is Torkoal

Donnie is Lapras

Yes. They are all shiny. I started with raph, since him as drednaw is pretty much a no brainer. The shiny form fit too well with him and his color scheme. Than I realized if I made him shiny, I had to make the other bros shiny as well so THEY ALL SHINY. (draxum shiny hunter confirmed?) Also dual rock typing fits well with raph's character.

Wartortle for leo was also a pretty obvious choice. I MEAN LOOK AT HIM. Long flowy tail? Yes please. I had to keep his markings somehow. Wartortle has little dark cheek spots, so I just changed them to be leo's markings. Water typing leo. Go with the flow, think on the spot, it worked out too well.

Torkoal for Mikey was another easy one. Fire turtle? Passionate, warm, also DANGEROUS (he can be a menace ok) Say no more. His powers in rise are already pyro related. Also having him shiny helped a lot with the color scheme. Torkoal is normally orange so having mikey be the yellow shiny form meant I didn't have to mess with his mask colors

Donnie on the other hand....OHHH BOI I STRUGGLED WITH YOU. I went through 4 DIFFERENT POKEMON, before deciding on the least turtle like of them all. I am aware that we do have a softshell pokemon with enamorous, but it's a legendary so thats not happening. But it was really important for me to keep donnie's soft shell and battle shell. I wanted this to be a RISE au and donnie's battle shell is pretty tied into his character. (there's also tirtouga which I almost went with, but I didn't like that both he and raph shared the exact same dual typing) Soooo, Lapras. Its more of a loch ness monster but it also draws inspiration from a placochelys (prehistoric seaturtle esque species) so IM COUNTING IT. Very unconventional but I have my reasons. Ice typing is a good offensive type, but is pretty bad defensively. Which ties into rise donnie's fighting style. If I wasn't a coward, I wouldve made donnie the biggest of the bros. Since lapras is like 8 feet tall compared to the others being like 1-3 feet. But uhhh, I swear I have an in universe explanation for why he's so small ok.

And than there's April. She is not a pokemon trainer in this au. At least not in the traditional sense. I've been with pokemon for all of my 26 years of life, and I always wanted to know what the normal people of the pokemon world are up to. Not everyone is out here collecting gym badges, travelling, or catching them all. How do non-trainers interact with the pokemon world? So that's where I'm at with April. She will get a pokemon partner, but other than that, she's just an average high schooler who befriended the turtles from a young age and takes part in all their shenanigans. I took some design elements from rosa and hilbert with her outfit, but otherwise its pretty much the same.

We'll see how far I'll take this. I've been using this as a break from my many other projects, but like everything I do, it grew too many legs and is slowly becoming its own thing.

morgan’s (saint_viscera) work on “the wretched universe” is really truly amazing and probably just what you’re looking for if you’re interested in stories similar to mine. i’m very grateful to have been able to see the story develop into what it is currently (and is still growing into) cause it’s so thought provoking and full of passion. they have very gritty human characters while still somehow having soooo much mysticism in the grand scheme of things. “have mercy” is beautiful and i dream of cash every day.

neil (medeasmadness) has such an eye for visuals and unique characters and he puts sooo many details into the stuff he makes for “cheap vodka.” he puts a lot of thought into the cultural and regional backgrounds of his characters that you really don’t see anywhere else, and has really beautifully human designs. praline runs around and has fun with olek and wisteria in my mind.

lexi’s (LEXHTTPS111) story “hollingsworth” is so so cool if you’re interested in religious overtones in horror. the art along with it is so beautiful and it’s amazing how she tells stuff through visuals. very very cinematic along with really amazing writing. i dream of the day this novel is published and i definitely recommend keeping up with it !!

hudson (VIDEOVlOLENCE) and javi (FRANKENGlMP) both write reallyyy cool stories if you’re more into the super nitty gritty sleazy horror stuff. both their pages are 18+ only so please be wary of that and heed all their warnings if you’re interested lol 🦭. you can look at all their stuff through their respective toyhouse pages ! “coyote lake” is my personal bias, but “jackhammer project” is definitely a runner up. the art that goes along with everything is sooo so gorgeous and unique and you really don’t see it anywhere else.

there’s a ton of other cool people out there but these are just a few off the top of my head !

My Art through the year!!! you can really tell which months I was focused on animation stuff AHA

i set out this year with the goal to do and practice more backgrounds and setting elements- and i DO think i manged that, though a lot of it was more on the animation side of things. (I'm not the most proud of them- but we're learning here aHA)

HOWEVER. i also think.. i made a lot of improvement in rendering and shading this year, and have made some pictures that i'm really proud of

despite that, i still think the things i'm most proud of would be the amount of animations i've gotten done this year. the most popular being the CoLT animation, but im still more proud of the Coining Crows break down that i finished early in the year. it was a labor of love.

I also gotta say im really proud of the Variety out of this year. I think i'm getting more experimental with my designs and art and branching out from a lot of habits i used to have.

My goal coming into the next year is honestly to get a little more organized.. and prioritize my physical health a biiiiitt more.

I'm a firm believer that you can make anything you want with whatever tools you have- and because of that i've always just.. used whatever jank ass set up i could get a hold of. this year was actually the first year i've ever bought a new art tablet- i've been using the same, small, no screen wacom since i was like.. 15? but it worked! but NOW im starting to upgrade things and i plan on taking the time to let myself learn more professional set ups.

i ALSO plan to take a little better care of myself- i have a bad habit of getting so lost in passion that i forget a lot of my physical health.. which is not great! so we're going to work on that.

That being said, i AM working on some big projects in the background too! taking big steps on those in the new year!

i'm really.. thankful? this year for all the people and artists i got to both interact with, and get support from. not just my Crew with @thrice-before-the-rooster being an amazing supporter, basically my brother, and @chuubifrog being one of the most inspiring people i've had the pleasure to know for years-

but also, not that they need a shout out from me, but @thelostmoongazer and @cosmic-nopedog's community and support meaning a lot to me this year. Them, their friends, their community, all really played a part in the support and interest i got in my work.

which is- amazing. i've never needed eyes on my work to have that desire to create, but to see people actually have interest in my stories, animations, whatever, it's.. amazing?

Okay, so, I said I was working on Pokemon Scarlet / Violet fanfic and that's still kiiiinda true? But for the most part the past few months I've instead been working on...

HamOfJustice's League Club Expansion Pack

... which is a text-file-based imaginary mod of the game (but a blueprint for a real one if someone is able to make it, I guess) that massively expands the DLC postgame to include like a hundred things for characters to talk about, adds new friendship storylines, expands their team rosters and battle AIs, and lets them follow you anywhere in the world, making it not really a League Club thing at all except in spirit.

I'm aiming to do the following:

1. Give the players the living-happily-ever-after postgame that they deserve, and that Pokemon SV basegame really seemed like it was leading up to after Area Zero and all those friendship strengthening storylines

2. Prove I know this gamedev thing isn't easy and do all the work myself to see how viable it really could've been for SV and Pokemon games in general to have more meat on its bones, inspired by what we did get from it so far. I'm not asking for much of anything that requires new models, code, or animations, just text, menus, and repurposed features. Even the AI is pseudocoded by myself

3. Live up to the characters' potential more and leave less up to speculation and fanfic to really explore, explain, heal, capitalize on, and have fun with (okay, this is basically fanfic formatted as a fake datamine, but still) while still being consistent with the tone of the game and leaving plenty of subtext and small details to have fun discussing with other readers rather than stating everything outright

Basically, I wanted this so bad I just did it myself instead of complaining some more, and I want everyone who feels the same way to get to have that experience through me. I've been steadily working on this thing for months (the scope got a little out of hand as you can imagine) and I'm pretty close to releasing Nemona's files, which are the parts I'm most passionate about, but I'm hoping to keep at it after that if I can (Nemona, Penny, Arven, and maybe Kieran and Carmine, at least)

Ornithia has been a project in the back of my mind for about a decade and I tried to make into a webcomic once but couldn't maintain it.

I made a pitch bible to organize my thoughts and considered pitching it to a studio but after experiencing the current state of animation for myself, I decided it was something I wanted to have an make for myself without having to worry about how some studio head might change it or censor it.

And I figure if I make it myself first, maybe later down the line it could still become something else too.

These days I've been feeling inspired to work on my own stuff more, in addition to whatever fanart I'm passionate about at the moment. I've had my doubts before but I realize I'm the only one who can make the things I want and how I want to make it and I'm determined to see it through, in a sustainable way that works best for me.

All this to say, I whole-heartedly encourage you to do the same! Art is all about expression and communication and I love seeing what everyone has to say <33

I honestly can't believe Young Royals is coming to an end, the cast is done filming and this is the last season we'll get... wilmon means just so much to many of us it's gonna be so hard to say goodbye to them...

Even if I'll keep supporting Edvin, Omar and all of the cast on their new projects, its just hard to say goodbye to some of the characters that suddenly were part of my comfort zone... and im sure they will stay there and i will watch YR an infinite amount of times...

but seeing their wrap and goodbye posts, them saying goodbye to hillerska or to each other or even them commenting on each others posts. knowing such a great bond was crated among the whole cast is just amazing and i hope we get to see many of them working together in new projects bc they're just all amazing.

we also got Omar's sommarprat just today and i honestly cried, laughed and went through a million emotions through the whole thing. I think he's so brave and amazing for talking about his and wilnurs life and talk about all the bullshit they had to go through. im so happy omar is finally being recognized and doing what he loves the most while feeling more comfortable with himself in many aspects.

I got to hear Edvin's sommarprat right after Omar's and I gotta say edvin always blows my mind bc he always sounds way too mature for his age and i really love the way he opened up about struggling with sudden recognition and large amounts of ppl following him everywhere among other things. i think he's also very brave and honestly both Omar and Edvin inspire and teach me a whole lot every day. they're both so down to earth and so passionate about their jobs and what they love... and they're not afraid to speak up when they don't feel okay or comfortable about something but they also make sure to let us know when they feel comfy and when they appreciate things as well.

but yeah just still a bit all over the place about my emotions with filming ending but! we still have a whole season to enjoy and i trust lisa and omar and im sure we're gonna love this season too.

I'll always be grateful and thankful for and to this show, the whole production team and the cast. added some comfort people and a whole new comfort show to my safe place and that means a lot to me...

thoughts on myhouse.wad, from someone who has never played doom

spoilers, obviously. also genre-typical mind fuckery, maybe. youve been warned

as the title of the post suggests, i have never had any association with doom in my life.

i literally only have sufficient knowledge of this mod because of mindlessly scrolling through tumblr yesterday, and stumbling upon a link to power pak's video essay on the game. seemed interesting enough, i supposed.

perhaps it was not the best idea to watch the entire thing despite warnings to play it blind beforehand, but i did so anyway, justifying it with my aforementioned lack of background with the base game and anything surrounding it. but narrative and technical genius of the mod aside--theres probably so many posts across all manners of sites about that--its just...really inspiring as a passion project. the tributes to both the creator's deceased friend and the doom modding community as a whole is perhaps even more touching to me precisely because it's a circle i was never a part of. celebrating something that brings joy by creating and sharing with others who are, too, pouring their hearts in a similar manner, is just such an innately human experience regardless of what that thing is, and even though its not representative of the scene as a whole, im glad i got to at least slightly understand the object of the creator's passion, and how it ties into his experiences and the bonds he shared.

on an unrelated note...ive noticed that when i search for the game on google, youtube, or the like, the search autofill will erraneously suggest "myhouse.was." a simple mistake by perhaps either too many people making hurried typos or the engine itself "correcting" the searches, but...i think it adds to it. the house indeed was a lot of things. an unfinished project by a nerd inspired by other nerds, a place likely full of unspoken pain. a safeguard for remnants of old memories.

ALL OF THE ABOVE!! i began storyboarding the beginnings of a short film (last slide) about a year and a half ago that i do aim to finish one day!!

likewise, i have a comic in the works that i also started a few years ago and really want to bring back—especially since i can now emulate the look of a real comic! i always wanted to use these characters to make a show if i got the chance.

creating a show is probably my loftiest goal—it’s not something i’m aggressively pursuing per se? the longer i work as a professional cartoonist, the more i find i love LEARNING and absorbing information and working as a team, collaborating and adding my sensibilities and ideas to another person’s passion that we can all share together. i would love to have a show someday! but i used to tell myself “when i get into the industry, the first thing i’m ever going to do is be a SHOWRUNNER! nothing before that!!!!” which.. i respect the optimism and blind drive of 17 year old me but also fear it HAHAHA. that’s not a sustainable way to go!

i also really would love to make a Porky and Daffy short of my own someday. i have the beginnings of some storyboards here and there (the first one cemented my job as a revisionist on the Sponge!! i was going to try my hand at both boards and character design but that clinched my role for boards, so i owe these little guys) and i remember being like IM GONNA MAKE FAKE SCREENSHOTS! TITLE SEQUENCES! MODEL SHEETS! A COBBLED TOGETHER SOUNDTRACK! THIS AND THAT AND THIS!!!! i’ve gotten MEGA sidetracked since HAHAHA but i still have the ideas for some of the animatics that i’m very passionate about and would love to see through! (and it would be nice to work on an official project with them sometime, but i’m happy to make something with them at all! they’re the angel and devil on my shoulders at all times)

hiii 1, 9 and eleven for relationship asks!!

1. do you prefer pure, innocent romantic interactions or do you prefer obsession and possession? or maybe a mix of both as long as it's relatively healthy and consensual?

ive never really had anyone like me to the point of obsession and possession! but i think id like a mix of both. i like cute and romantic gestures like leaving little flirty love notes or getting flowers or being incorporated into their creative pieces in some manner. there was a girl in high school that liked me that would refuse to leave my side when i was being dumb and isolating myself in the cold. and she'd keep my hands warm with hers. and she'd share an earbud with me and let me listen along with her. i didnt appreciate it back then but it melts my heart reflecting now.

after. my last relationship though. i also want to have zero doubts about the long haul so a little healthy possessiveness would give me a little reassurance! i want to indubitably be someones partner... i like feeling like im theirs and theirs only.

9. what was your longest ever relationship? how and why did it end?

my longest relationship is my first and only. it was ldr and it lasted about 4 and a half years. and i was engaged to them actually. had a nice little intimate christmas proposal in private and everything where i started off with christmas presents and led up to the ring!

in her own words, before she ghosted me, the relationship ended because "nothing has changed between us." she didnt feel like either one of us were growing. despite her finally working and being able to support herself somewhat. and despite me giving all my effort to address our pain points. although a lot of her pain points were nebulous due to fact of them solely involving just how she felt... and of course no matter what a person does, the other will simply feel how they feel. i would assure her that meaningful growth takes time and that measurable growth isnt instantaneous. i feel like she wanted to see her living conditions and her life in general change completely in a short amount of time.

in my own opinion, the relationship started falling apart about halfway through. she reached a point where she said she felt emotionally numb potentially as a result of her meds and couldnt feel intimacy anymore and didnt want to be intimate. i asked her to clarify since physical intimacy isnt my only want in a relationship and isnt even a deal breaker. and she said she wasnt sure. womp womp. despite her saying those things she ended up in bed with one of her university friends/flings. she said that she "just let him share the bed with her since he didnt have a place to sleep and nothing happened between them." and nah i dont quite buy that one bit anymore. especially since her roommate found the need to message me about it. there were a million different solutions she could have went with and she chose the worst one willingfully. at this point i tried breaking up with her or at least go on break. and she more or less guilted me into staying by accusing me of just wanting physical intimacy and sex lol... projecting much... from that point on forward i still put in as much effort as i could muster. but emotionally i was definitely colder. i definitely wasnt as vocal about my love. and then covid hit and the distance became greater. and it looked like it was getting back on track when the travel ban lifted and she stayed with me at my apartment for a month. and i actually believed that it was getting back on track at that point despite feeling uncertainty. and then she drops the break up a few months after blindsiding me.

11. describe your ideal type of romantic interest!!

i love creatives! whether theyre dancers or singers or writers or musicians or artists! i. feel like i have many types... i like confident passionate direct girls... ive been enamored by an architecture major whose hard work was both inspiring and. attractive. i would also put the girl at work i call texas girl in this category. watching her fiddle with components and be determined to resolve issues in any way she can... is attractive. i also like shy quiet. cutesy girls. mellow and sweet. i guess my ideal type would be someone confident and bold and direct... but can also be shy and sweet in private? someone thoughtful and kind. someone thatd make me feel supported and secure and undeniably loved. my love languages are words of affirmation and quality time!!! my romantic interest would be patient and mindful. and we would work as a couple to fix issues instead of shifting blame.

International Studios

Burrowlab/Burrow Studio burrowlab.com Burrow Lab is a sub-section off the graphic design studio, Burrow (im-burrow.com). They are based in Germany and create a lot of type-based designs.

This interests me because... Typography is one of the aspects of graphic design that I find interesting. I believe that Typography is a little bit underrated so I am happy to see such contemporary typographic designs like these. I believe that typography can be a lot more creative and expressive than what you see at first glance, so I’m glad to see it being used to it’s fullest potential at Burrow. It really drives home the message of type as image.

Pentagram pentagram.com Pentagram Design is a Graphic Design Firm based in New York and London. They are a globally known studio that provides branding, marketing and communication design to clients all around the world. Some of their most well-known projects include the streaming service Prime Video and the Natural History Museum Brand Identity.

This interests me because... Pentagram is such a large Studio with so many iconic projects. I actually found out about them through some of their gaming projects which really surprised me.

Gusto gustodesign.co.nz Gusto Design is a studio based in Wellington that provides communication design services. They focus more on communication campaigns and infographics.

This interests me because... Gusto Design is a predominantly women led studio. As a woman designer, it’s inspirational to see other women designers as leaders in the industry.

Ocean Design oceandesign.co.nz Ocean Design is a communication and strategy design studio that is based in heart of Wellington City. Their most well-known projects are The University of Wellington Brand Identity as well as the finance app ‘Sharesies’.

This interests me because... As someone who grew up in Wellington it was really interesting to look into the Studio that was responsible for some of the iconic brand identities that I would see everyday. It makes me think more about design that I overlook just because I see it everyday.

Fox & Co. foxandcoanimation.com Fox & Co is an animation and motion graphics studio based in Wellington.

This interests me because... I am very interested in the world of animation and motion graphics. Motion graphics is something that I am aiming to strive for in my future work as a creative.

I met Sissi and Phyo in 2022 at a Design Assembly end of year catch-up in Wellington.

Think Packaging thinkpack.co.nz Think Packaging is a Packaging Studio based in Auckland. They often collaborate with other well-known Design Studios to create unique and inventive packaging.

This interests me because... I am a big fan of their creative packaging ideas. I really admire how much they can do and create with just cardboard. I also really like how quirky and playful their brand identity is. I would really like to have a conversation with the people that work at Think Packaging.

Porter Packaging porterpackaging.com Porter Packaging is a Packaging Studio that is based in Auckland. They are well known for their high quality packaging designs that are elegant and professional.

This interests me because... Packaging is one of the areas in graphic design that I really take an interest in. I really like combing paper crafting and origami when making packaging so seeing projects done by leading companies such as Porter Packaging is really inspirational for me.

Marx Design marxdesign.co.nz Marx Design is a studio that provides branding and packing services to companies all around NZ. They are most well known for brands like YES YOU CAN and Animals Like Us.

This interests me because... Marx Design specializes in two of the areas of graphic design that I am most passionate about: Branding and Packaging. I am really inspired by the brand identities that they bring to life. This is because they are not only visually appealing but also are very effective at communicating to their target audience. There is clear thought and intention that comes through their designs.

White Rabbit whiterabbit.nz White Rabbit is a marketing and branding graphic design agency that is based in Newmarket, Auckland. Their services include: Logo Design, Website Design, Brochure Design, Business cards, Illustration and Packaging.

This interests me because... I feel like White Rabbit’s projects and studio culture is something that I can clearly picture myself doing and being in. This is somewhere i would really like to work or intern at.

Seachange seachange.studio SeaChange Studio is a branding and graphic design studio based in Auckland. They work with clients not just in NZ but also all over the world. Their services include: Brand Identity, Web Design, Environmental Design as well as many more.

This interests me because... I really enjoy a lot of their packaging and branding design. Seachange studio is a kind of studio where I hope to work at one day. They also have a female co-founder/director which I find inspiring as a young female designer myself.

Designworks designworks.co.nz Designworks is a marketing and design studio based in Auckland that offers graphic design, branding, photography and spatial services.

This interests me because... Designworks has done so much iconic branding around NZ. It is also cool and inspiring to see a Kiwi-Asian Designer have such a huge role in the industry. I would definitely want to collaborate with an industry leading studio like Designworks one day.

Designworks Creative director, Jef Wong was a recipient of Best Awards Black Pin in 2022. The Designers Institute Black Pin is awarded to designers in the community that have made a significant contribution to the design profession and culture in NZ.

Kaaio Studio kaaio.studio Kaaio Studio is a boutique design studio based in Auckland that has a focus of branding.

This interests me because... Kaaio Studio is a lot smaller than all the other studios I have on this mind map. It is also run by a younger Asian woman designer which I found interesting as I am one as well. Kaaio is a fairly new studio so it is still in it’s early stages, but I am very interested to see how it grows.

I initially found this studio through my instagram recommended page and thought that it would be interesting to find out more.

4:00- hes doing the stream in spanish because words come to him easier in his native language

-these past few weeks have been really turbulent and hard for him. before his involvement theres been people on the administrative and financial side that have negatively affected the project <- hes already said this

5:10- he hasnt talked about giving updates because the only updates/communications he's had are internally and legally, not visually apparent changes but important ones that need to be taken into account. people have been retired who were malevolent to the project, and hes in processes to let go of people who have caused a lot of this harm/trouble since the start <- the principal focus of this restructuring

-the words and actions that im taking have to be done veryy carefully. recently hes wanted to make a lot of public and private updates but theres been a critical information filtering problem internally, updates in the past have gone to places where they shouldnt have and gotten to people who didnt need to know these things and who have distorted a lot of the information

-he hasnt been able to speak freely but its a delicate process

7:10- financial stuff, the project costs a lot and it needed a finanical strategy or it would end. through thinking of different strategies that would support the project the next step was to restablish elemetns of the server that didnt exist anymore. he didnt want to make promises that he didnt want to keep and he didnt want to give internal updates on finance because he was working on it. his lack of communication is not on purpose but he has to be very careful on navigating all this (no shit)

8:50- there are people who have left the project out of their own volition and it will keep happening and he has no problem with it and he wishes people the best. after his internal communication re: restructuring there were people who dont want to be part of that, he gets that and he understands transitions are hard and not everyone wants to be a part of that. his MO was geting back normalcy but with best conditions possible- three weeks comment

10:30- the changes are for the betterment of the project and for those who love it, those people are the inspiration and motivation for making the project, running the project, and continuing to run the project.

10:57- "i am not doing this, and i want to be very clear, for people who for a long time wanted/want to see the project destroyed, through their actions that demonstrate a total contrast to the love for the project. such as, destructive comments, bad actions, ill wishes towards me, my team, and for whichever community that watches q//smp and for the project in general. for me, all those people with bad intentions stopping their engagement/consumption of the project does not bother me in the slightest. i want to be very clear of that."

-its very difficult to construct/uplift, and its very easy to tear down. to all people who want to uplift they are welcome to join, but to everyone who seek to maliciously destroy this project since the start, it never was and it still isnt for you.

-this project is a personal passion of his and he will keep working to strengthen it. (skull emoji) - stream ends at 13 minutes

really shitty summary/real life translation (LOL) of q stream -- i joined like 4 mins in so i didnt get all of it

-hes saying hes had to be really careful with communicating anything because of a lot of fragile happenings behind the scenes and he understands that people have issues with his methods

-the process is gonna take a lot of time to rectify, way more than the 3 weeks since its been brought up initially

-hes done a lot of internal communication re: restructuring the backend of the project, his main objective was for this project to return to normalcy but he acknowledges its hard to get to where the project was and he doesnt fault people who have left the project

Mercury in 10th-  Albert Einstein had this! This is a placement for a quick mind and a career where your intellect will be at play. Most people will think you’re very intellectual & logical too.

Mercury/ Jupiter aspects- Such person can think of the bigger picture. Can see bunch of different outcomes. Such person is realistic but thinks positively.

Virgo Ascendant- Such person is logical and has it in them to succeed in anything regarding logic and order. Reliable person. May be the type a lot of people asked math answers for. Just also looks smart. I feel this way for any virgo placement but especially virgo ascendant.

Virgo Mercury- I’ve seen this in very good at academic people’s chart with a very logical mind. These people will find logic in everything. It’s very hard to find a Virgo Mercury who sounds like they have no idea what they’re talking about. I love this placement personally. Y’all are so trustworthy with your word. 

Scorpio Mercury- These little detectives... Such high emotional intelligence with such sharp intuition that is almost scary! Messages come through to them through words communication and vivid imagination. It’s so hard to fool them. If you fool them they may know but are too deep in emotions. It is a water sign. 

Mercury Square Uranus- You have such ideas that are so eccentric that can throw people off. You have good ways of communicating your ideas. I think these are the type to have the best project in class that no one else thought of. It has it challenges, but your guys minds are incredible.

Air moon- Such person constantly finds logic “But if that happened then why___” good communication & bright ideas. Such people are good at school without too many effort.

Sagittarius Moons- So many sagittarius moons I’ve met are so hardworking and passionate?? Where is the love for y’all! I swear. They’re so passionate and loving with their work. These people put their all to their work and they master it. 

Leo Moons- Most Leo moons I’ve met always go to top schools? Not that this has such big indicator on intelligence but I also notice how hard working they are and don’t let anything go in the way with their goals. They are SMART AND DEDICATED.

Aries Suns- A lot of Aries suns NEVER let anything bothering their goal and passion. These people will make it to the top with no bother in the world. Love y’all but don’t forget abt us!! 

Mercury in 8th- Highest level of intuition intelligence, you should never let any important imagery the passes through your mind just go by intution communicates through the power of the mind. This is more of emotional intelligence. Almost Psychic dare I say.

Mercury in 3rd- Mental Abillity is astronomical. Person is persuasive and intellectual with their words and communication. You see this in people who speak with a lot of evidence and wit to back it up.

Mercury in 9th- Such person may go abroad for higher studies, person will succeed in anything they put their mind to. This is good academically these people are curious and skeptical. There is reasons for everything they do. 

Taurus Moons- Good emotional intelligence & you know when to walk away from bad situations and when it no longer servers you. You have a good opinionated mind. If you were to be stuck on something you will get to the point you want nothing to do with it anymore and there is no going back. Good common sense.

Sun in Virgo/ Sun in Aquarius/ Sun in Capricorn- Analytical minds, Usually more on the introverted side because they tend to like to observe most things. 

 Saturn in 2nd- Serious about practical manners in life. Also very reliable people. Knows how to survive.

Capricorn Moon/ Capricorn Mercury intelligence= Very good practical intelligence, rational, good with deals and with people, speaks little but when they do are taken very seriously. Love y’all.

Mercury direct, general but most people with Mercury in retrograde tend to struggle with communication not that they’re not smart but mercury in direct is preffered for a better processing mind. (Not that Mercury in retrogade is too common anyway) 

Mars in Gemini- Sharp Mind ready to attack, knows what to say fast to get out of a tricky situation. You can count on them to get you out of some mess. Very good at communication.

Moon in any water sign will bring greatly impacted intution that will come easy for you. This is good because you can bring logic to it and stuff that your intution tells you.

Mercury in Pisces- Most Mercury in Pisces I’ve met are soo good at writing! They pick up on little things which is useful later on. Also most I’ve met usually want to be a doctor or nurse. Somewhere were they help people with their gifts. There isn’t much LOGIC, but there is a bunch of other gifts mercury in pisces has that are so helpful! Messages may come through dreams. Helpful messages to help with the future. 

Gemini Sun- Logic and not too much emotion is involved with their judgments most of the time. This makes them great debaters. Such person is usually in a high rank it a lot of bunch of stuff. Such person is communicative and straight to the point. 

Mercury Trine, Sextile, Conjuct Saturn- Good memory, knows how to handle stress even if it might get to them they know they’ll get through it. Good serious communication can talk about serious manners. Practical reasonings.

Hello! I hope you're having a lovely day. I really enjoy all the gorgeous art you create especially for lotr. You have some wonderful visions of those characters and your art style is filled with so much warmth. -- Do you have any thoughts on dwarves as archaeologists, particularly in the fourth age? I’m picturing the return to Khazad-dûm triggering a wave of new found passion for archaeology as they uncover long forgotten heirlooms, artwork and signs of the lives of their people. 1/2

The first grand construction in Khazad-dûm is a museum and there are debates about whether some ruins should be preserved as they are or restored. Eventually their interests expand beyond dwarven archaeology and expeditions begin starting in Eregion and then expanding into Arnor, Eriador and beyond. 2/2

Hi!!!!!!! Hello!!!!! thank you so so much for your kind words and your wonderful thoughts!!! ill be honest — the first thought i had about archaeology in middle-earth involved underwater archaeology. the sunken cultures of beleriand and numenor are just begging for that! sadly this does not go well with the general opinion most dwarves seem to have on water, though im sure a few very dedicated fourth age dwarven archaeologists would not let themselves be stopped by that!

eregion is so great for archaeology too im sure — in general there are so many ruins in all of middle earth, i can imagine there is atleast one dwarf whos passion is recreating all those grand buildings into mini models for a private collection or even an exhibition… legolas says the elves of eregion left not many traces but the stones sing of them still, and who better to examine those stones and listen to their stories than a dwarf !!!!

and i loooove the idea of dwarven museums. they already have so much appreciation and admiration for the past and their ancestors (which they are so often out of touch with due to the almost constant displacement they seem to keep experiencing), it would make so much sense for them to get to establish a museum in peaceful days ❤️ a bit of inspiration perhaps taken by the hobbits who do have museums but generally regard them as useless if i remember correctly (😭)… and speaking of hobbits and your idea of the dwarves expending their archaeology into different regions, i could see them excavating the village smeagol came from — they seemed to have had a very waterbased lifestyle

and i could picture them maybe living in stilt houses/pile dwellings (pictured here are reconstructions of stilt houses from the bronzeage, in the bodensee, germany) which they dwarves could unearth and then perhaps ALSO reconstruct as a fun project. sorry to the poor dwarves, its so waterbased again!!

also! helms deep and the glittering caves have a particularly rich history with the rohirrim! im not sure if gimli himself would be an archaeologist (he definitely has the passion for the past, but maybe he would be too busy 😔) but dwarves of aglarond could definitely work with the rohirrim to uncover more tracks of their ancestors. who knows what other caves lie in the mountains, where humans may have lived once!: ancient burial sites, part time dwellings, hiding places during conflicts, etc. though this would have to have been a long long time before , since the rohirrim have a long line of barrow-burials. but im sure theres lots to be found in the caves!!!

speaking of BARROWS ! those barrows in arnor maybe be haunted but listen. there are things to uncover and learn about the past. maybe they barrow-wights wont be as mad if they just dont commit grave-robbery and they can catalogue the findings and illustrate them… maybe…?🥺 it would certainly make great business for bree to have all these archaeologist dwarves come through trying to keep literal ghosts at bay long enough to properly sketch a funnelbeaker. ❤️ theres sooo many possibilities here !! thank you for sending these asks and i love u and feel free to dm me anytime ❤️❤️❤️ i hope you have a wonderful day as well!
