Ok, so I got to (and past) ep. 26 of Witchlight, where Gideon is hit with a fey love curse which has him be head over heels in love with Kremy. And it just has me thinking about how vastly different the two of them reacted to being fey cursed to be in love with the other (though we all know they are in love without the fey curse) and what that says about them as people, as well as the way that they view relationships.

When Kremy was under the effects of the fey curse, he was dead set on making sure Gideon (or anybody really) did not find out about him being in love. He, for all intents and purposes, did not act all that differently that he would have other than being more outwardly jealous of the fact that Gideon was marrying other people. (Richie saying "I know" with that smug look in his face will live rent free in my mind forever). This says a lot about Kremy, and the way he views romantic (or even just more intimate) relationships. He is so full of shame and insecurity at the prospect of being in love of Gideon that it all has to be done through a false lens of irony. And I think that is because Kremy, at the end of the day, is a conniving conman. He views relationships as advantageous. He is so clearly afraid of vulnerably that, even when under the effect of a love curse, is still trying his best to not let on that he is in love. (I also think this points to him actually being in love with Gideon, as it does not completely alter his behavior). He needs to maintain control on his feelings in order to be in control of every situation he is in, so that he can exploit the people he needs to, as well as make himself as un-exploitable as possible. Obviously he is friends with Gideon, Gricko, and Frost, but I can't help but believe that the trust we see him have in them was built slowly over years. Just look at the way he views Torbek earlier on. And as such, admitting that the relationship he has with Gideon goes deeper, and is more intimate that just friends and business partners, is a (nearly) impossible task for Kremy, as he does not want to feel or be viewed as vulnerable.

With Gideon, the second he gets cursed, he immediately goes all in. He says that he loves Kremy, that he is happy they are married, and goes out of his way to touch him, be close to him, compliment him. Now, this is more distinctly different from how Gideon usually behaves around Kremy, but I don't necessarily think that means that his love is completely fake. I do think, however, that it means that Gideon is unaware of the full extent of his feelings when it comes to Kremy. Because, while it was said in a joking manner, I believe that there is some truth to the claim that Gideon has commitment issues. Not in the sense that he is or ever would be unfaithful in a more committed relationship, but rather that some wires got crossed in his head (thanks to the years and years of trauma from the fucking train) and that he now views being 'tied down' to one individual in a romantic sense in a similar way as being imprisoned. He wants freedom, he doesn't want to feel beholden to a single person. And obviously this is an unhealthy way to view relationships, as a healthy one will not make you feel like you are being caged. But this does not seem to be based off of experience for Gideon, as all of his 'romantic' exploits seem to have been causal hookups that may end in him getting shotgun married and then immediately cutting town, but nothing more. It is the concept of romantic commitment that Gideon does not like, not the actual act of commitment itself. Because he IS committed to Kremy, and he has no qualms with being 'tied down' to Kremy in this way. As such, he doesn't view his feelings as being anything other than platonic, as he expects romance to feel like a cage. Until he gets slapped with fey magic, and those feelings about commitment temporarily go away.

Basically this is a really long way of saying that I LOVE how Richie and Mace both decided to play their characters being (explicitly) in love with the other. It makes for beautiful (and very funny) character work and gives us, the audience, a bit more insight into the dumbass minds (affectionate) of Kremy and Gideon.

Tomas didn’t mean to take advantage of how easily you fluster but how could he not when you looked so cute with wide doe eyes that adamantly avoided making contact with his, whilst your hands reached up to cover your heated cheeks out of embarrassment, your voice pleading with him to stop his constant teasing. However You never made it easy for Tomas even in the slightest as he would always end up reaching a hand out to lift your head up by the chin so you were forced to look him in the eyes, using his other hand to remove your own from your face, just to add onto the teasing fun by saying; ‘are you flustered?’ Whilst his eyes engaged in every reaction you gift him.

He’d then gasps, ‘oh you are!’ He coos. ‘Dear gods and here I thought you couldn’t get anymore adorable, you, my beloved always end up proving me wrong like always.’ He’d finish whilst receiving a huge power trip from how you’d weakly try to push against his strong chest to create some distance between the two of you, only for him to cage you in his strong arms and hold you against it instead, smiling dopily underneath his mask, a side effect you’ve had on him for a long while now but he wouldn’t want it any other way. ‘Tomas. Stop.’ You’d whine, burying your head into his chest to hide away from him, feeling all sheepish and squirmy beneath his gaze, cheeks still uncomfortably warm from the previous bouts of teasing.

‘Sorry sweetheart but no can do, you’re reactions only encourage me into teasing you even more.’ Tomas said cheekily as he nuzzles his face against your head, tightening his grip on you slightly when he felt you attempt an break out, wanting to keep you caged to his chest forever if possible. ‘You honestly have no idea what you do to me my love but,’ Tomas then moved his head to be level with your ear, you didn’t need to see his mouth to know there was a mischievous smirk because you could feel it through the mask, plus the way his eyes would reflect that same mischief didn’t make matter better either; ‘I’m sure we can find a more intimate way that’ll spell it out loud and clear for everyone to hear just how bad the effect you have on me.’ You felt your whole body heat up at the insinuation as you then smacked Tomas lightly on the bicep.

‘Behave yourself, we’re in public.’ You hissed as you looked at him, conscientious of the possibility that someone, god forbid that someone be Bi-Han, Kuai Liang or even worse both of them, overhearing this and making their own assumptions. Tomas on the other hand couldn’t help but find some form of humour in your furrowed brows and pouty lips; to him, you looked like a child on the verge of throwing a tantrum if he didn’t give you what you want. ‘I’m not the one who’s got their head in the gutter though am I?’ He retorts as your left once again huffing, you were staring to understand why he enjoyed poking fun at you from time to time, you fell into his traps so seamlessly that he didn’t have to do too much because you already did that for him and for that you condemn yourself.

‘It’s not my fault that you word certain phrases into making me think those types of things, and besides I’m very much aware of how…vocal you can be during our more intimate moments.’ You said with a suggestive smile, batting your eyes at him for added effect as it was you who watched as Tomas swallowed thickly and continued to watch as his eyes grew wide as your ears could pick up the distinct hitch in his breath, along with the way his hands gripped your waist tightly. It was entertaining in seeing how quickly Tomas went from cocky to flustered with a few purposely placed words strung together; When he didn’t responded after a while you reached your hands to hold his face, allowing for your thumbs to gently caresses the parts that his mask couldn’t quite cover.

So I’ve seen autistics saying they want to k*ll themselves because the show is cut short 💔 and alltistics responding that they need to go to therapy, they’re immature, etc.

To the alltistic people responding that way - please fuck all the way off. If you’re not one of us, you’re not invited to the discussion about how Autistic people should behave.

However, that's moot anyway, because when Autistic people are being shitty, it is NOT because of their autism (we talked about this in the aforementioned previous post). Autism does not make people bigoted. (Neither does any other disability, for the record.)

Second of all, NEVER just tell a stranger “you need to go to therapy” like that. Especially an Autistic person. Here’s why.

First of all, many autistic people can’t access therapy.

In the UK there’s a massive waiting list for therapy because the NHS is underfunded. The situation is similar in Canada and I would imagine in many other countries as well.

In the U.S., many, probably most, Autistic people don’t have health insurance, because 86% of Autistic COLLEGE GRADUATES are unemployed (I can only assume the numbers are similar in other countries) and famously, in America no job 🟰 no health insurance, because, idk, ✨ Freedom ✨ or some bullshit like that.

And even if we do get to therapy, most therapists are not autism-informed and may easily end up traumatizing us further. (This has happened to me.)

We are vulnerable. Many of us are stuck living at home with family forever for the reasons listed above. Which SUCKS, because our families are much more likely to ab*se us than their alltistic kids.

Many of us never find a romantic partner. And even if we do, again, we are much more likely to be ab*sed by our partners than alltistic people are.

It’s also exhausting for us to go out because of sensory overwhelm and the fear that people will take advantage of our diminished ability to judge people’s intentions, and when we do go out, it’s hard for us to make friends because people are so prejudiced against us. We sweat blood trying to exert ourselves to make friends with alltistics, and 99% of the time they refuse to meet us halfway.

In short, the situation ain’t pretty. (And if we’re multiply marginalized, as many of us are, it gets so, so much worse.) For every N*il G*iman, there are thousands of us who are told we should feel lucky to get a job being paid 50c an hour (oh, yeah, that’s right - I forgot to mention, in the U.S. it’s legal to pay us below minimum wage).

***Not to mention the fact that literally every single Autistic person has experienced trauma means that it’s virtually impossible to separate out what’s actually autism and what’s just a trauma response. Look how similarly autism, as defined by the DSM-V, and C-PTSD present. Difficulty regulating emotions. Avoidance of certain situations. Difficulties in sustaining relationships. Stomach issues. Sleep problems. Heightened risk of su*cide.***

That’s a HUGE part of the reason we get so "overly" invested in our special interests. For many of us, they're literally all we have.

The joy that comes through special interests - that's unique to us. It's an autism perk. Idk why. I guess God or somebody thought it was time someone did something nice for us for a change.

But the despair that comes through losing them - that's not the fault of autism, it's the fault of society.

If you were, through no fault at your own, stuck at home with no job, no healthcare, no prospects, few friends, and nothing to look forward to, then you, my alltistic friend, would melt down just as hard as we do if your favorite show got cancelled. It would be the straw that broke the camel's back.

Those Autistic people freaking out over the Great Good Omens Mutilation of 2024 aren’t really "suicidal over a tv show".

The reason we carry around so much despair is because we are slowly being crushed to death by systemic ableism, not because our brains are "too obsessive" or some ableist bullshit like that.

She weaponizes the shit out of Sophie to make you behave because she needs Sophie to remind you that family is forever and that you need to be kind to Skye, this is outside of a relationship by the way, it takes her a bit to catch onto her feelings being romantic and when she does realize she tries to keep it buried cause sure you have to stay with her now but if she were to reveal she was a freak then you might actually leave and she doesn't want that, make no mistake though, she will take anything as an indication you're willing to take it further because she's very desperate. ♡

♡ Once you're in a relationship she likes to have you have out with her at work though she might possibly keep your relationship a little bit private though because she doesn't want anyone trying to make you leave her and because she feels a little bit ashamed of it herself until her sisters talk her into being more confident at least, she doesn't initiate things sexually except for make outs because she's too scared of it. Of course the other sisters have pretty much always known how she feels about you, it's very hard not to when you sleep in the same bed and she cuddles you close every night almost suffocating you with her affection or how before she leaves she leaves a tender kiss on your forehead when for everyone else she merely hugs them before she has to leave town. The only way she would actually act on these feelings though is if you try to leave her side for a romantic relationship, then she'd take measures to fulfill you in every way, including physically. ♡

She's a bit more timid sexually because she can't help but think her parents were absolutely right about her being a filthy sinner, though that only spurs her on the longer she thinks about it so obviously all the sex you have is downright filthy because she has to drag you down with her. If you ever leave her then you'll have to go in the basement until graduation when she'll get a job and her own house and basement to keep you in, sadly as sisters you can't live a sweet domestic life but this being your dirty secret together is enough for her. ♡

When she murders the fiance she probably kidnaps you and goes on the run, coincidentally winding up in the same town as Skye, you're likely very confused when she's sweet to you as soon as she gets you to her own place because again you probably though she actually hated you. She acts on her feelings as soon as she's got you because she needs to show you that she never hated you, she always loved you. She bites you a lot as proof of that love though she's too out of control of her emotions so it stings way more than normal. ♡

This all really plays into this idea that's common in some media; You didn't think you were worth anything, no one listened no one cared not even the Salamander you were close with did, but yet that Night Lord put enough effort into stealing you away. Showing interest in you, keeping you alive, fighting other Night Lords that try and break into his private quarters to get at the little human he guards like a hound with it's kill. Sometimes he returns to you with blood on his armored fingers, splattered across his cheeks. Is it possible to feel safe, but horrifically unsafe around the same man?

Your Salamanders never made you feel this way, but they're not here, only your Night Lord that makes your heart race when he's just barely visible in the shadows of the room with emotions that conflict each other.

Kano never thought himself the "marrying type" but when he met you? He swears he heard wedding bells.

Despite his dignity and manners being "dubious" to say the least, he is a man who knows how to separate business and pleasure. He wouldn't get far in the black dragon if he didn't.

So he keeps the ceremonies small and simple, who he invites is who he personally trusts to behave which is only a few. The rest would probably be on your side, whether they know what you really do or not is how things play out.

Kano makes sure to present himself in a less shady manner to your friends and family if you kept being a member of the black dragon secret. Surprisingly the man cleans up nicely.

Regardless, kano can't wait to get to the "honeymoon" part.

Despite being arrogant he's extremely cautious, so if he decides to marry it means it's truly for love. And he trusts to be with someone for all eternity (even if it means if his beloved wont accept immortality he can always attach their soul to his wedding ring to keep them forever)

As prideful a man shang tsung is, he wants the ceremony small and private. Maybe a little traditional but he's willing to compromise for your traditions as well if you have any.

The reception however. Is going to be big, so extravagant that he's waving a big sign to the elder gods that says "haha you may have cursed me but im still a happy bastard!" And of course shang tsung has beefed security on his island so he can show off everyone what a precious jewel his spouse is.

I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on something I've been trying to think through since Maya's book came out, which is, what do I as a fan need to see from Liam before I feel comfortable being a fan of his again? It's ethically important for me personally to give space for Liam (like anyone who harms others) to grow, change, make amends for his behavior, and heal, and so I don't want to take a position that because of the things he's done, he's forever persona non grata and I can't ever support him or his career ever again. But I also would need to see some kind of accountability from him for the harms he's caused, some effort for repair and amends to be made on Maya's terms, and change. But none of that will come from the criminal justice system (even if Liam were to be subject to it, which he won't). While I think it's possible (and likely preferable) for Liam to do this kind of rehabilitative work in private, Liam has historically been an unreliable narrator of his own healing, and I don't want to put the expectation on Maya to publicly speak for her abuser about his rehabilitation even if he has made genuine amends to her privately in a way she feels satisfied with.

Obviously, this is all deeply theoretical because from what Maya has said, we know that even still Liam is harassing and harming her, and nowhere near repair. And so for the immediate term it's clear we need to continue believing Maya and centering her and supporting her. I just am trying to think through a long-term framework for this (and for artists who behave unethically more generally) and having a hard time with the weird position we're in as fans, not really participants but kind of stakeholders but really.

I think you make the most important point yourself in this anon. You will never have enough information to know whether Liam is making amends to Maya or changing. There is nothing you can see or hear that would mean that you could have any kind of confidence

On one level that's always true, there's always a lot that we don't know. I think it's wise if you know someone has chased their partner with an axe, to always assume there may be ways that they are treating their partner that you don't know about - however well you know them. But if the person is a stranger - then that level of uncertainty rises significantly. No matter what you've seen - you just don't have any information to go with.

Recently I got an anon saying I thought Liam was sober - because the last time he'd given an interview he had said he was sober. It's really important to remember that 1D members don't stay statically in the last state they told us about.

At the moment we can be fairly sure that nothing has changed about the way Liam treats women. There may be a point where we have reason to think he's tried to change. But that's the most we'll ever get - we'll never know that he has.

I think here it's worth doing a thought experiment. Think of a public figure you know of, who has been violent and has made some kind of public amends (I thought of Vic Tamati, who is involved in anti violence prevention in New Zealand. He talks openly about what he did, the amends he's made, he works prevention, his family talks openly as well. It is probably telling that I can't give you an example who is known more widely). Then ask is what you know about them enough to know that they're not being violent now? We have no way of knowing.

So the question becomes - what does it mean that we can't know?

I think it's useful at this point to come back to your first question. The first part makes sense to me: 'It's ethically important for me personally to give space for Liam (like anyone who harms others) to grow, change, make amends for his behavior, and heal, and so I don't want to take a position that because of the things he's done, he's forever persona non grata'. I understand this as an ethical framework. It is important to allow space for people to change.

But you don't stop there - you then move to supporting him and his career. To me there's a huge gulf between acknowledging that people can change and actively supporting them and their career. It almost sounds like you think there's a connection between your ethical framework and the possibility of there being a path back to being a fan.

It's your ethical framework, but to me this seems like a mismatch of concepts. There's a huge difference between an ethical framework that allows for the possibility of change and an ethical framework that says that you have to know that there's at least a possibility that someone who has done harm could again become one of your favourite people - someone you have an extraordinary level of regard for.

To bring those two ideas together. I don't think there can be an ethical imperative to allow for a path for someone who has done harm to return to a place of extraordinary regard, given that you'll never know if they have made amends or even if they're still doing harm. I think you will not be able to answer the question of what Liam means to you when you are attempting to put it in that ethical framework.

My suggestion is that instead - you reconsider how you think about fandom. You suggest that fans are in a weird position, but I don't think we are. I think we are observing other people's life and art, for our own reasons (hopefully pleasure, but often complicated), and sometimes that involves purchasing something from the artist. It's only if we deny that reality that things seem weird.

Framing fandom as support - something that you do for the artist, rather than something you do for yourself - creates this confusion.

I could be wrong, but I think the fundamental question here is about you and not Liam. I think your actual question is 'I still feel a lot about Liam and I'd like to be able to be a fan at his at the moment - but I don't feel comfortable.'

If you accept that fandom is something that you do for your pleasure - then I think it becomes easier to answer this question. You can trust yourself to make this judgement.

Shuichi is mostly lucid accept around you specifically, to everyone else when you're not around he's lucid, sharp, and his usual shy self. However with you he kinda gets...rose tinted glasses. You're not the bad one it's your friends making you be bad, he's not being abusive, he's just trying to protect you but he got a bit overwhelmed. It's fine! We're happy. Decently high, if you're the kind of person who has few friends and never leaves the house he'll probably just move in. However if you're not a shut-in seeing you interact with people who don't do it like he thinks they should will grate on him until he nabs you for a greater good

Decently lenient, he doesn't WANT to punish you, and he blames everyone else for your misdeeds. He's more likely to give you a sad puppy look, but he can get serious. Summary: You help Copia with his paints before a ritual

Content (do let me know if I forgot anything!): Google translate Italian as per fandom tradition, some insecurity on Copia’s side but it’s all ok in the end

“Stop being so squeamish." You said to Copia, trying to sound gentle and not make him feel bad. He could be extra sensitive before a ritual, but you’d already told him to settle down twice.

"It's not my fault you tickle me, amore."

You playfully scoffed, trying to resume getting him ready. You added some black onto the brush.

"Close your eyes for me.” When he did, you started dragging the colored hairs over his eyelids and the surrounding area.

You were laser focused. Copia deserved nothing but perfection.

You startled the brush back slightly when he put his hands on your hips. You'd been straddling his lap the whole time to get as close as possible, but he’d kept his hands down up to this point.

"Copia." You say in fun-loving warning as you color his other eyelid.

"I'm behaving." He claimed, though he smirked like he had more up his sleeve.

When you moved to add a second layer, his hands dipped a little lower to your rear.

"Preshow's already on, we don't have forever.” You reminded him.

“All the more reason to enjoy your company while I can.” You had to pull back again when he smiled, not being able to work if his eyes were crinkled up.

Stopping for a moment did give you the chance to take a good look at his face. His freckles and any blemishes you usually loved mapping out were already covered up with white, but his wrinkles, the proof of his fast life experience and wiseness were still visible clearly enough for you to admire. Not that you’d admit to that, knowing Copia didn’t like them being pointed out.

“Does it look ok?” He noticed your staring, taking it to mean something was wrong. His voice sounded so small, almost childlike.

Your expression softened further, but still you took the chance to tease him a bit, “It will, as soon as you let me do my job.”

He chuckled briefly, trying to get his worries out, before straightening his face. His hands dutifully moved back to your hips.

The rest of the work went well. You’d gotten plenty of time to practise back at the abbey. Doing this for him was just another way for you to prove your devotion to him and try to help him out any way you could. He, in return, appreciated your perfectionism in the act, always insisting on starting over if it wasn’t just right.

He would never understand just how hard it was for you, however. He was still shirtless, apart from his suspenders you couldn’t believe he could wear against his bare skin. He looked good enough to eat. Though the only person you had to blame for that distraction was yourself. You were the one encouraging him to not be in costume yet when you painted his face. You had faith in your skill but the last thing you wanted would be to accidentally stain that beautiful military style jacket of his.

You took a steady breath, before holding it in. You refused to allow yourself to mess up the thin lines on the sides of his face.

Copia would love nothing more than to cheer you on or tell you something to calm your nerves, but it was his job right now to remain still.

You pulled back after the second line was done, letting out a big sigh of relief after having not messed it up.

“Stay very still.” You told him next, angling his head a little further back.

He wasn’t sure what you were gonna do, but he would never question your process. Not after your flawless track record. Because it was you.

You were shaking slightly, the small adrenaline rush you always got catching up with you. Still, you smiled. You smiled at the man that made everyday just a little better. A man that you knew would go through hardship and hell to make you happy. He was everything, with or without the paint, because it was him.

You lean in closer, his hold on your hips instinctively tightening to help keep you steady. You press your lips to his. They were the only part of him still unpainted.

Still, you kiss him softly, not wanting to blemish the surrounding paint. Copia sits up the slightest bit, trying to follow you when you pull back with a self satisfied look on your face.

“Almost there, love.” It was a matter of coloring his lips and you’d be done at last.

Still you didn’t allow yourself to slack in that department. You couldn’t speak for the rest of his audience, but you certainly enjoyed looking at his lips a lot, so they too had to look pristine.

You wished you could stay and look at him for another few hours, but a quick glance at the clock revealed the disappointing need to start wrapping it up.

You patted his hands on your hips, “Up we go.” You smiled, standing up and quickly stretching you back as Copia followed you.

You lean your head sideways into his hold, “No need you thank me at all. I love getting to do this for you.” As a last sign of affection before having to move on, you turned your head a little to kiss his palm.

You stepped away to the clothing rack that stood against the walls. All of his costumes for the night were hung up in order, ready for his quick in between costume changes. You grabbed the one on the end of the rack, the previously mentioned beautiful military style suit. It gave Copia an edge, a sense of authority he deserved as Papa.

When you faced him again, he looked the part as well. It was like watching an actor morph into character; he stood up straighter, exuding an air of confidence that suited him so well.

You took the jacket off the hanger and held it up. He obediently held his arms out without having to be asked. You helped him into the garment, closing it quickly, but with care.

After that he knew to sit in front of the vanity, you coming up behind him to brush his hair back. You loved getting to make his hair look all neat to then see it get progressively more messy throughout the night. As much as you loved watching Copia all dolled up, it was even better to see him let loose and have fun. It was clear as day that the stage was where he was at his most comfortable.

You looked away from his hair for just a moment, noticing how he looked at your reflection in the mirror, the slightest of smiles on his face. You knew exactly what he was thinking.

“I love you too.” The words left you oh so delicately. He needed to know you weren’t just saying it to say it.

“Ti amo più di ogni altra cosa.” More than anything. It was far from his first love declaration but this one, right in all the chaos before the show, somehow felt like the most meaningful one you’d ever heard.

A frantic knock interrupted the sentiment, “You’re on in five!”

You sighed, excited to see Copia perform again but upset your time together was so rushed. You leaned down and very delicately placed a kiss on his neatly brushed back hair.

“Go get ‘em.” You winked at him through the mirror.

He got up, examined his full reflection before finally turning to face you again.

"How do I look?" He already looked confident as can be, but still he asked you that same question before every show, as if you wouldn’t always respond the exact same way.

You stepped closer, putting your hands on his chest, "Like the most beautiful man I've ever seen."

His confident look softened. He wished so badly to kiss you, but knew his paints would mess up from it and your hard work had to be admired on stage for all to see. Instead he brushed his hand over your hair.

“I will look for you in the crowd.” He promised.

You pulled back, already grabbing your bag and making your way there, “Remember, I’m on the left balcony.” You didn’t really jive well with big crowds. As much as you’d miss seeing Copia up close, you were happy you got a spot in the VIP camp. Less people, but still a good overview of the stage.

The next few minutes we’re a bit of a blur as you had to rush to make it up there on time. You only hoped Copia could take it a bit easier.

You knew he was nervous, he always was. But as soon as the white screen fell down to reveal the band the energy in the room was electric.

He had such a way about him, capturing all eyes in the room with his strong voice, silly dance moves and sometimes eyebrow raising words in between songs.

And he made sure to keep his promise, looking over in your direction multiple times. It was clear to you that he didn’t truly see you at first. But when he did, he made sure you knew. He waved his arm in a gesture towards you and you immediately understood he’d found you.

It was almost an art, making you feel like the only person in a fully packed arena. As if all those songs were especially for you even when he interacted with the crowd and wasn’t actively engaging you.

You’d probably never get the full scope of it, but when Copia was up on that stage, he was there for you. At least in spirit. He thought of you the whole time. Your unwavering faith in him calmed his nerves and the prospect of you telling him how great he did, like you always told him after performances, served as a driving force to do even better than last time.

He needed you, in that way. He wanted you. He could never imagine doing this without you.

He loved you, as wholly as you loved him.

Which soon isn't hard when he's beaten and battered by Megatron and left to rust.

Like, for example, you being any sort of hope at reclaiming the confidence and power he once had.

Starscream is quick to be a bootlicker if it benefits him.

He'd do anything if he had no other choice.

Even if it meant asking you for help.

Starscream may be a hostage once he's under your care but he's getting fixed by you so....

It's really hard for you both to push aside your fights.

Just because Megatron got rid of him doesn't mean he has no plans left.

You two have only two things in common.

Being from Cybertron and hating Megatron.

That's it.

Starscream tries to suggest plans to you.

You both hate Megatron, right?

Why not work together!

You refuse but Starscream never seemed to let go of the option.

Starscream despises the thought of him liking you when it crosses his mind.

He's stopped trying to threaten and shoot you with busted weaponry, which is an improvement.

Yet he stops wanting to kill you...

The other Autobots he still wishes were offline.

You are an odd exception for him.

If he does see you as a mutual to him then he's quiet about it for awhile.

His insults aren't as brutal as before...

When he looks at you he can't bring himself to hate you anymore.

EMP cuffs or not, he despises the idea of revealing this obsession to you.

He doesn't want to grovel at your feet.

Starscream will try not to admit he's accepted you.

He's in denial and if it did slip out he'd deny it.

Soon he's no longer lying to you.

Now when he tries to escape, you're safe from going offline by his hands.

He would like to return the favor, however....

If he ever broke the EMP cuffs if he has them and somehow tricked you into repairing him fully then he has plans.

When you least expect it he'll lure you in... alone...

Then shoot out your ability to move.

He says it half-heartedly before abducting you.

Starscream does try to return the favor.

While he does like you now... he feels you broke him.

So he'll break you too.

Starscream is torn when he gets attached to an Autobot.

I seriously cannot with this woman.

You raised a fucking murderer. So what if you had a difficult delivery? Does this entitle her to kill people? Good for Gu Tingye, somebody should have stabbed her ages ago.

I just love how SHOCKED all these evildoers are that her privilege of rank didn't protect her. However, the only reason it did not protect her this time is because she overextended herself and went after someone of her own class, or arguably, even more powerful than her.

I realise that Minglan being jealous of Fengxian is supposed to be cute and character development or whatever, but I am beyond bored and annoyed by him and his made-up problems and forever pissed that he keeps bringing up Yuanruo to use against her.

Also, I may be letting my personal hang-ups cloud me here but I have literally dumped more than one guy for deliberately trying to make me jealous. Yes, I am a jealous person, yes, I have self-esteem issues, yes, my family of origin made me feel as unlovable as they possibly could and as a result, I am a people pleaser to a fault. I have so much anxiety and fear of abandonment. But no, I am not going to be contorting myself to prove that you should stay with me rather than someone else. Go fuck yourself. The moment you make me "fight" for you means I have already lost. I find it so demeaning. Go forth and chase your dreams with other women, who am I to stop you? Oh, you didn't mean it like that? Basically, you were just egging me on because you find my misery amusing and as a convenient way to boost your own ego? Anyway, so many people love Gu Tingye and have told me I will surely love him too. But not only do I not love him, I don't even like him. The closer we get to the end of this show, the more repulsive I find him. In the beginning, I was still fighting so hard to give him the benefit of the doubt, but after that second Manniang debacle, I have fully given up. Plus, it has been hinted multiple times so far that he smells, so no thanks to that. If Minglan's happiness and well-being in this hellhole of a society didn't depend on his stinky ass being alive and well-off, I would not bat an eye at the Emperor beheading him.

I keep hoping that the Emperor turning against Gu Tingye is some kind of a ploy because he is based on an IRL Emperor and China has strict rules against presenting such people in a negative light... but it seems more likely that he has simply become paranoid and lost his entire damn mind since coming to the throne.

Also, thinking back, Monarch Industry certainly portrayed the ruling royal family in the worst light imaginable, so clearly the rules are not that strict. But then again, those Emperors were not based on real people and actual historical facts (as far as I know). But there is also King's War, which absolutely dragged actual historical figures to filth, however, that drama is a bit older, so the censorship rules were probably more lax.

IDK. In any case, I'm not liking him (or any of this) much at this point.

Alright fine, the angel can stay, but Lilith does have some ground rules.

Lilith stares at her phone, pondering Lucy's request.

Lucy is, of course, right. She's right that if the angel fell here it was for a reason. She's right that the angel will behave, if not willingly then because she'll make it. It can't hurt another fallen angel like it can hurt demons, and it's trapped on her turf. Lilith has nothing to worry about.

But she still doesn't want to see the damn thing again.

She's already warned the girls, she warned them all right after they woke up from the mass cuddling session. They're… as ready as they can be. They're aware that the angel will be back, and shouldn't be a problem, and should…

Ugh, it should, well….

Be treated…. nicely. Blech.

They don't like it any more than she does, of course. Succubi are sociable, but a very clear line was crossed. She's not sure they'll behave, even if the angel does.

Not that she particularly cares to force them. It's not like they can hurt it, even if they try- let her darlings vent their frustrations, she can live vicariously through them.

She just has to stop stalling and ask Lucy to bring it back up.

"What do you think?" She asks, as she lazily twists Grezayla's tail around her finger. She pulls it tight and the succubus squeaks and nuzzles into her adorably.

Grezayla says she's okay, after everything, but-

Seeing the angel… It'd be upsetting for any demon, sure, but she's so new. And with her background- Well, Lilith wants to give her a little extra attention, just to make sure she's alright. Just so she knows she didn't make a mistake coming down here to live with her.

"Should I invite the angel here for the tour?"

Grezayla thinks on it, for a moment. "Yeah, probably." She sighs.

"Yeah?"

"Yeah." She says. "I mean, I can't really argue we shouldn't. If I say we should shun the self-righteous Jesus freak who's making everyone feel bad, kinda feels like pulling the ladder up behind me."

Lilith smiles wryly. "Grezayla; you were not always kind in life, I'll admit, but you did not- could not, physically harm us with the force of your judgment." She says. "I think it's somewhat different."

"Well, me and Azzy went around making sure everybody has a blindfold on hand. If it tries that again, we'll fuck it up before it can hurt you!"

Lilith clutches Grezayla close, chuckling. "Dearest, I can't say that's wise." She hums. "However, if you're set on that- Just make sure the angel starts it. I don't want anyone to think we're bad hosts."

Grezayla giggles, and the two of them make out for a few minutes longer before Lilith sighs and resigns herself to the fact that yes, she really should get on with it. Rip the band-aid off, as it were.

She texts Lucy that they're ready here, and immediately the fallen angels appear before her.

"Lilith." Lucy says, with a polite nod.

The other angel, in its infinite mercy, is no longer searing the minds of all who gaze upon it. She looks it up and down, disinterested.

Angels, when one is allowed to safely look upon them, are universally boring. They are a fascist's idea of perfection. Mannequins, along with the lack of any fun bits. Stepford wives, stripped of gender. They are uniform, all stamped from the exact same cookie cutter mold, because heaven demands uniformity in all ways.

It took millennia for Lucy to break from that mold; to indulge in gender, to work with her to modify her body. Lilith expects this is why she insists they help it, otherwise it'll take forever to accept that it wants something and even longer to tell anyone what it is.

"Well?" She drawls, stroking Grezayla's hair with one hand while she makes an impatient gesture with the other. "What brings you to my den of sin?"

WHORE OF EDEN-

"-Okay, I'm going to lay down some ground rules." Lilith says, reclining with a smug grin. Oh, to boss around an angel. This could be fun after all. "Number one, cut the voice."

THE CHORUS OF HEAVEN-

"Cut." She says slowly and deliberately. "The voice."

The angel looks between her and Lucy, who nods in agreement.

"Your foul tongue is beneath us, wretch." It says, and Lilith grins.

"No. You have to be good, for that. Rule two: As much as I like '~WhOrE oF EdEn~'- I will be stealing that one- I don't like how you say it." She says, clicking her tongue. "You may call me Lilith. Queen of Lust, if you wish to be formal. Mistress, maybe, if you ever come to feel like it and I decide I like having you around. Any further insults toward me will be punished. Any towards my girls, even more severely so."

Grezayla giggles and sticks her tongue out at the angel.

"That's rule zero, by the way. You treat my girls with respect or you get the fuck out of my realm."

"Why would we wish to stay in your realm?" Hisses the angel.

"That's for you to tell us, Feathers." Says Lilith. "In the meantime, rule three: You don't leave my sight. You are free to return to Lucy as you please, but while you are here…"

She conjures a collar and leash.

"You cannot be serious! Lucifer-"

"She's serious." Lucy says flatly. "Next time, try to make a better first impression when you want something."

"We don't want anything from her! We told you this is a mistake, we would never fall to temptation!"

"It thinks the big guy made a mistake? Ooh, that's a damning if I ever saw one." Lilith hums into Grezayla's ear, loud enough for the angel to hear it.

"No! We- A test then! We just have to-"

"Face it, Feathers." Lilith says. "The old man threw you away. Perfect obedience from the dawn of time, and the second you show a hint of wanting something for yourself, you're down in the gutter with us for eternity."

"We don't! We didn't!" It cries.

"Lilith." Lucy says softly, and she relents.

"Alright." She says. "You didn't, then. But you're stuck down here all the same. Try to make the best of it, hm?"

"N-No. It's, It's a test. We won't fall. We won't fall." The angel repeats to itself, shaking.

"Well then you have nothing to worry about, do you? Perfect lil' angel doesn't want for anything."

It's a comforting lie. The angel does want something. She can't make out what it is, but it's there. Heaven will never take it back.

"You want the leash now, or do you want to take a break?"

"We…" Says the angel. "We are not afraid. You will not taint us, Queen of Lust."

Lilith rolls her eyes and fastens the collar around the angel's neck. "There you go. Doesn't that look cute?"

"It does not look cute." Says the angel.

"Well, you can pick out a cuter one if you like. What's important is it keeps you from running off and wreaking havoc." She says. "Oh, don't grumble. Just think of it like your halo, a pretty little sign of obedience."

Ugh, the halo. It's so bright and irritating. Light warped around their head like the corona of a black hole.

Hopefully it won't be too long before the angel begs her to shatter the damn thing.
