If I say that I'm not used to people misinterpreting my favorite characters, I'd be lying. But the way they get so many things wrong about Inho's character is kinda pissing me off because you KNOW that most of them do it to cancel out the possibility of InHun being *something* more than what's shown so far. You don't ship them, that's fair, frankly I don't care. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion UNTIL your opinion is wrong.

Let's talk about a couple of things I've seen being talked about on tiktok (🙄)

“Inho joined the games because ilnam said that it'd basically be more fun to play than to watch so he followed his example." loud incorrect buzzer ! Inho has joined the games before, and not only that, he's also a previous winner, so therefore he's very much aware of what it's like to be a part of it, he's experienced them first hand, just like he's experienced the atrocities of it. they've changed him for the worst and possibly caused him a huge trauma —they're the reason he's lost faith in humanity after all— so, why would he crave to relive it just for the thrill of it? i, personally doubt he even enjoys watching the game.

“Inho didn't look at Gihun with love, he likes to watch him suffer” Short answer is no. He doesn't like to watch him suffer, neither he looked at him with love, not the pure kind of love at least. Two things can be true at once. Inho spent half the season staring at Gihun because everything about the man intrigued him; His determination, his stubbornness, his kindness, his hope, his heart that's full of love despite the pain he suffered, even the pain in his eyes every time someone got eliminated in front of him as if it was the first time it had happened, as if the cruelty of it all surprised him every damn time. How can someone, who's been through the same things Inho has been through, be the polar opposite of him?

now, the reason(s) that I think Inho actually joined the games for..

(yes I am an Inhun shipper, does that make my opinion a little biased? maybe. do i still believe I'm right? absofuckinglutely.)

Let me clarify this: Inho is NOT a good man, no matter the redemption arc he might get in s3, he'll continue to be a terrible person because nothing will ever erase the blood he's spilled and the evil men he's worked for. BUT at the same time, he's not ALL bad, not like the VIPS and ilnam. See, Inhun are the average "yin-yang" trope in fictional romance, (which I eat up every time and I find it very interesting when it's done the right way, don't get me wrong) Inho is bad but there's some goodness somewhere deep inside him. And the only person who's brought it to the surface is Gihun. Sure, he does think Gihun is naive, but he's also the only person who's actually challenged him, who's "forced" him to get his stupid head out of the dirt and look around him, even for a short while and Inho definitely liked what he saw. Honestly, it wasn't even that hard for Gihun to do so because the goodness in Inho wanted and waited for someone to pull him out of the dirt, he wished for someone, something to give him hope for humanity or.. anything. Anything that'll help him escape from his misery.

You can definitely argue that he joined the games to befriend Gihun, to gain his trust and stop his plans when the time comes, which is half true. But keep in mind that he needed to justify his choice to join the games. He's not a VIP nor the mastermind to simply get to do that without consequences. He's the frontman, the one who controls and manages everything. He's needed for the games to work and go by smoothly and successfully without unnecessary losses and problems. Gihun would only cause problems, Inho knew that very well and yet he chose to put him in it once again. He recklessly made that choice, risking pretty much everything because of his inner conflict. A part of him wanted Gihun to prove himself to him, that there's indeed good that'll save the world and the rest of him wanted to prove to Gihun that everything he so strongly believes in is merely a fantasy.

Joining the games and befriending Gihun was the only way for Inho to see the real him, without the heroic mask he puts on every time he faces the frontman. I think he believed that someone as extraordinary as Gihun will either break in front of him and he will end up disappointed by the human kind once again, or Gihun will change everything about the way he thinks for the better. But the problem is that Inho hopes for both of those things at the same time.

And that was Inho's arc in season 2. His inner conflict and how it will affect him, the game and Gihun later on.

Lets yap about Geode and why it's practically canon!

Okay I've been wanting to write this for a while but never had time to. However, winter break just started! I should be working on some unfinished school work but I don't care about school. So here it goes! This is basically why Geode (Cole x Geo) is canon/will be canon.

So first, I wanted to talk about how Cole never really had an actual love interest up until now. Sure, in season 3, there was the stupid love triangle thing with him, Jay, and Nya, but it was confirmed by the writers that Cole never really had feelings for Nya and was just confused by the attention she gave to him. I'd also like to assume that P.I.X.A.L's perfect match detector thing also threw him off. (I'm just gonna call her Pixal for the remainder of this, yes she'll be mentioned again)

He also never had much of a romantic relationship with Vania. Sure, they were close and had a great friendship together, but that's where it ends, just a friendship. They never really did anything more. And when it comes to Ninjago, they make the love interest very obvious.

The writers are also very aware that they haven't given Cole a love interest. They make subtle jokes about it, like in this scene. While the ninja are hanging out with their significant other (expect for Lloyd who had a love interest but uh... we saw what happened the Harumi...) except for Cole. He's instead looking at the cake that the woman is holding up. The writers of the show also have said that his love interest is cake as a joke, so they're aware that they haven't given him a love interest yet.

They also once posted this on the Lego.com website as a poll. This might be far fetched but to me it implies that there might be someone else in the future that will be Cole's lover. I know that it says girlfriend but it doesn't mean that the someone Cole is yet to meet can't be a guy. Maybe Cole is a bisexual too we can't take that completely off the table either.

Now, let's talk about the actual ship of Geo × Cole. Geo is not as social as the other and is more timid. He keeps more to himself. However, with Cole, he's an open book. He raised a whole family with him. They're also rather close. Cole has never been that close to anyone other than the other ninja, and even so, it still took him a while to get used to them. So him being so close to Geo as fast as he did is quite attached to Geo. And if that isn't gay then I don't know what it is.

Now this is the part where I talk about my personal favorite and probably one of the most canon ships ever in Ninjago, PixZane. (Pixal x Zane, told you I was gonna mention Pixal again 😉) It is very obvious that they love each other and is canon that they're dating. So, why did I mention them? Well, they never explicitly say, "We're dating." Instead they say that they're "compatible." Zane also says that she has "Half of my (his) heart" Which all of those are all just says of saying that they're in love and dating. Also they both have a strong attachment together. I mean, Zane is desperate for Pixal in Dragons Rising, and in the comic, Zane's Pixal Project, he's so desperate for her and is willing is sacrifice himself for her. In fact, Pixal only says, "I love you." In Crystalized. Took them only 8 years to finally hear something less nindroid-y but that just proves my point more. Yeah, with all of that plus the stuff I didn't mention, they're dating at least.

So why did I mention all of this? Well, a common rule for story writing is, "Show, don't tell." Very common in real life to, like phrases like, "Your actions speak more that your words." So they would apply that rule to a ship like Geode. I mean, the hints are very loud, yet sneaky in a way. Enough for me to apply the gay label but not enough for someone to say it's 100% without a doubt canon.

I'd also like to say that the writers of the show hype up and imply this ship more than a little. One of the writers of Ninjago posted this on his Instagram. The writer is also gay so that's some extra points. (I got it from here.) Also I just realized that the little effect thing around their hands make a heart, so I'll add that to the evidence list. Also this clip, Doc Wyatt seems to support the ship. So I'm pretty sure the writers are planning something big for them, maybe... a kiss? Who knows?

Now, in the end, it is a gay ship, so they have to be much more vivid about it or else the show could get banned in certain places around the world if they do make it canon. However, other cartoons do have canon LGBTQ+ representation that's more prominent. (Ex. The Loud House - Clyde's dads (Howard and Harold McBride) + Luna is a bisexual, Adventure Time - Princess Bubblegum and Marceline) Plus, there is some LGBTQ+ throughout the show which I talk about more here. (Shameless plugging XD) So it wouldn't be out of character for Ninjago add a gay ship in the series. Not only will it give them more open doors since it shows how they're willing to add queer relationships into the show, so they might add some more queer relationships. It would also make Cole the first canon LGBTQ+ ninja of the main 6.

Okay, well I think that's about all I have to say about the most gay characters in Ninjago. Also thank you for all the likes + reblogs on my queer Ninjago post, I like yapping about this show clearly, especially the queer part cause I'm part of the LGBTQ+ community so I might as well spread my pride. I literally love Geode so much please make it canon in my life.

Damaged is surely one of their most ambitious projects and deserves every single view, kudos and review out there. Set in the DOFP finale verse that is no doubt the author's specialty, the story comes with an alluring, intricated plot that leaves you on the edge of your seat along with all the feels.

Technically also brillant, the linked story is definitely one you don't want to get spoilered for beforehand because the ending will leave you in absolute awe and tears. The author doesn't shy away from including the darkest sides of Scott's past but handles every subject with the necessary care and respect, and as I said ... You don't want to miss out on all that delicious smut!

The Day Before the Soldiers Came by Cerylid

Cery is offering a much-needed fixit for the team dynamics between the X-Men and Logan before X2 with this story. It comes with a lot of humor but also far more feels than you expect. The texting is hilarious but it's the quiet tones that get to you.

is basically my go-to X3 fix-it. You look for something to make that movie right, you got it all right there. Along with a bit of horror (we are talking about resurrection, after all) comes a dramatic rescue mission in a mental limbo, and you get an Avenger and Emma Frost guest-starring. There's a couple of follow up chapters that explore both scogan and Tony/Emma a bit further, and we even get a Laura version in old movieverse along the line, and of course all the nasty nasty smut you guys are here for.

A summary of an Elriel post I saw:

OP: Imagine the next book comes out, and we all rush to read it, happy to finally see our favorite couple take center stage only to be shocked and confused when it turns out to be a Gwynriel book.

"Mother, why?" We implore to SJM, unable to understand why she has done this.

"My child, did you not read the books? Gwynriel was there all along. I thought it was obvious."

Can you see that happening? Yeah, neither can I!

Not only are there some pretty heavy hints that Az and Gwyn are endgame, "See you later, Shadowsinger", "You're the new ribbon", "admiration and encouragement", "something sparked in his chest" but the most ridiculous part of this argument is that authors often switch up love interests regardless of what came before. When starting TOD, I'm guessing almost nobody would have expected Yrene to be Chaol's endgame, Sarah, without a doubt, set up he and Nesryn to share a journey together and had placed them into each other's orbits for multiple books. Which they did and which resulted in them kissing in TOD. However they both ended up with different people. I can't take someone seriously when they think the Gwynriel ship needs to "be obvious" in order for them to be endgame especially when the particular author we are reading does not always make her endgames obvious in the books that came before Did anyone see Tharion and Sathia coming in book 2? Ithan and Perry? (not that they are confirmed endgame but the people we thought they'd be with after book 2 are different than who it seems they'll end up with after book 3) so why does Gwynriel have to be different? Feyre literally died to save Tamlin, the one she loved, only to end up with someone different one book later. What came before really does not matter and ignoring that fact is going to bite them in the ass.

If the idea of Gwynriel didn't scare them, they wouldn't be so bothered by it but because they're so clearly bothered it proves they know there's a real chance of it happening.

i love every relationship in wxs, obviously, they're frequently bought together do not separate and i can't imagine looking at them without acknowledging that they were all equally important im each other's development, but if i had to pick my favorite, then it would be emukasa. wihout doubt. there is something special about emukasa that makes me slam my head onto wall everyday

not even in a shipping sense, i don't even quite literally ship them outside of polysho — i just think that their friendship is something so precious, a special thing that needs to be hold gently, or else it makes my heart ache. they care for each other. all of wxs do, and this is a fact. but when i think about how emu and tsukasa do so, it stings even more.

the way they started as a weird girl and a boy who tries his best to not lose his shit (or break his spine, according to the main story animation. yes i still think about it on daily basis) dealing with her — and the way they're best friends now, laughing together, crying together, getting mad togther. the way emu was so scared of tsukasa leaving her in amidst a dream, but still wished to support his dreams, because he matters to her so much. the way they were both crying and making fun of each other for it in our happy ending, so the other wouldn't feel so sad. the way it's tsukasa who invites emu to start a new story together in kirapipi★kirapika, just like she has invited him to their first one, to forming wxs together. all these details and moments in their relationship, revealing the bond that they've created.

yes, there are wxs ships i like better, but none of them just hits the way emukasa does. i don't want them to be kissing. i just want them to hold hands and keep on being best friends together, making me cry over them everday.

Well, hm... do I have a favorite photo of Jikook? Not in particular. I think any photo that I can get of them together is a blessing, however I really do love the Jeju-do set I have of them outside in their swimsuits. Something about it is just so... warm.

Some other fun little ones I really enjoy!!

When it comes to videos, I know a lot of people will go for the more "shippy" ones, like Black Swan, Rose Bowl, maybe their more intimate moments on 이게 맞아?! ... but truth be told, some of my favorite clips of Jikook are when they're more nonchalant, or more in their passive element. It's when they're doing acts of service or being domestic in ways that don't immediately catch the eye of regular viewer.

What a subtitle.

The gentle wrapping of Jimin's hand (Jungkook's affection seems to manifest itself best through acts of service!), the funny banter, Jungkook just sitting to the side in silence while he smiles gently at the story being told. Things like this really make appreciate the more gentle sides of their relationship, whether they be romantic or platonic. To have someone who softens in your presence even when you scream at the top of your lungs about their snoring is truly a blessing.

As for my feelings regarding Jikook... Hm, where to begin. I mean, I entered this fandom in 2015 and immediately engaged with the creative space of it, mostly with fanfiction. However, when I wrote fanfiction, I didn't really ship any of the members that I was writing about, I was more or less going off their dynamics. It wasn't until 2021 that I began to delve a little deeper into the Could This Possibly Be a Thing™ zone.

I'm not really sure what moment/thing did it for me, but again I really enjoy Jimin and Jungkook's dynamic, and I think how they treat one another and how they work together really just made me think that they could be something else. Something more.

But, I am not without my doubts. Hence the "diet" part.

I think it's healthy to have doubts when you've been presented something with no true/confirmed conclusion, otherwise you could risk turning into a rabid dog chasing its own tail, making up lies to satisfy a narrative that you've entirely made up yourself. Sound familiar to anyone?

Personally, I don't necessarily entirely agree with blatantly announcing that "They're Real!!" because I myself cannot really confirm that. I'm autistic, so sometimes when I see posts of people stating that someone is feeling a certain way just because of a "look in the eye" or a "facial expression", I start to get a bit upset, because we don't really know what they're thinking at the end of the day. I've had many moments where neurotypical people have accused me of something based on my face, and it kind of just ... drives me nuts.

Of course, my grievances stem from more abstract presentations of human emotions, whereas actions/words can be a little more clear. Decipherable to a considerable degree... if you know what I mean.

I wouldn't be devastated if things turned out to be different; I'm not rooting for Jimin and Jungkook because I enjoy entertaining myself with the possibility of their relationship being true. I have loved BTS for nearly TEN years now, and their music, their message, and their close bond as a team has drawn me to them in a way where sometimes my only reason for getting out of bed in the morning is to check if they've posted.

It's the little things that really matter for me.

do you respond to comments? uhh... occasionally. Social anxiety kicks my ass and so I put my energy into writing fic instead. I love every single comment I get and reread them any time I need a pick-me-up, but I am a bad author who doesn't reply...

what is the fic your wrote with the angstiest ending? hmm... probably pyrrhic victory, but Capsized is also a contender

what's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? considering I write mostly fluff and crack, this is a surprisingly difficult question to answer... I'm gonna go with either if you like it, then... or thrown into the nest. Or maybe don't blame the stork? (Some lovely reader out there is shouting at their screen, "Flaky, you goof, it's obviously ____!!" and they're correct.)

do you get hate on fics? Nope, not really! Some readers express that they wish I'd done certain things differently, and a couple have said I ended a fic badly, but I don't think I've received anything I'd consider hateful.

do you write smut? uhhhh... sometimes. When it's the best way to tell the story I have in my head, then I'll write smut. But it's still a bit uncomfortable to do. I'd like to think I'm getting better at it?

craziest crossover? I'm not sure I've actually written anything that could really be considered a crossover, but A real voyage of discovery is kind of a mash-up of Harry Potter characters in a Star Trek-y world? And it has alien!mort, and I think he's nifty.

Worldbuilding, continuous narratives (as opposed to short scenes without much context), plot-heavy narratives, description, writing the main characters in true opposition to each other, fleshing ideas out rather than keeping it (overly) brief... thoughts on dialogue in another language? I'd like to! I speak French reasonably well, and I'm lucky enough to have some fandom friends who speak other languages, so I'm sure I could beg their assistance.

favorite fic you've written? Hhhhhhh, why must I choose? I'll go with naïve melody, because it still gives me the warm fuzzies. I'm just so proud of the tone, and I really like how that Voldemort comes across.

- anya lets him experiment with designs on her nails and practice braiding her hair, he lets her try short styles on his hair and practice makeup, it's become their mutual 'talk it out' time; if anya ever tells him about juul pod, it's during a hang out session

- gets super competitive against anya at game nights, will eat game pieces (win no matter what mentality) and get yelled at by anya

- him and anya are ao3 twins; what they write and discuss is taken to their graves

- sings in the shower. really loudly. like 'swansea threatens to replace the water with emergency foam' loud. he eats it up though this man is in the middle of his world tour nobody's stopping him

- genuinely really looks up to swansea, sees his personality as grumpy-grandpa-with-mystic-backstory-esque, and is enamored with his engineering skills

I wanted to highlight some newer works that haven't accumulated as many hits as the older fics perhaps, so here's my list of belf fics that have come out in the past few years! And the theme seems to be "Rommath", I'll be real. Do check out the authors, many of them have more fics to read, these are just a few of my favorites!

He can’t be sure and doesn’t particularly care either way, but it wouldn’t surprise him.

(I LOVE this one!!! It's smoking hot, and their dynamic is so fun, and Hal is such a shitster (affectionate) and gets what he deserves for it: just the way I always imagine these two together! Magic should be used in sex MORE, especially when talking blood elves, this is everything one could hope for and more <3)

In which Kael'thas lives to fight another day, and tries to keep the world from falling apart.

(Last year it finally happened. It dropped. The long-awaited part three of the grand Kael/Illidan soulmate epic, dealing with the period between Burning Crusade up to Legion. It deals with what losing his soulmate does to Kael'thas who survives Outland and now has to lead his people through the many conflicts and events that followed, and the friends who backed him up and stood by his side for it. Great ensemble cast, fantastic worldbuilding, and a whooping 86k words!)

Still, Rommath is nothing if not a pragmatist and if it helps him achieve his eventual goal of becoming grand magister, he can’t turn the offer down. Nor can he refuse a request to work with the charming prince, who he quickly finds himself falling for. The spectre of his research haunts him for many years as he returns to Silvermoon to work under Grand Magister Belo’vir, and then still when he must deal with the scourge invasion and its aftermath. A backstory fic for Grand Magister Rommath that imagines how his life in Dalaran may have been, and how he came to work with and become close to Prince Kael’thas, and then continues the story up to the events of Magister’s Terrace.

(54k! I recently read this to make this list accurate! It had been open in a tab for ages but I just never got around to it, hah, you know how it is...! This follows Rommath's entire relationship with Prince Kael'thas with such incredibly engaging worldbuilding filling out the blanks left by the game. The characterizations are fantastic, this truly reads like a young Rommath and all that implies, with his ambition to make something of himself. The story is engaging and a real page-turner with a wonderfully fleshed-out supporting cast. A must read, honestly, even with the inevitable canon end! It feels earned, and bittersweet in equal measures. Genuinely one of the best fics I've read in this fandom, one I couldn't put down until it was done! <3)

Duty and Ambition by asimina

Rommath is unable to put aside the thought that his secret dalliance with Kael'thas might mean more to him than either would care to admit.

(67k! Same situation as above, actually I think I opened the tabs at about the same time and was paralyzed with too much potential goodness, whoops. First part of a series, this is a sweeping romance if I've ever read one, and as with all great romances there is plenty of turmoil and trouble to be had along the way! In this one the regency vibe is so real, it's all high society drama with its titillating scandals and pearl-clutching, written so convincingly authentic <3 It truly is a story about duty and ambition and love, above all – at times heartbreakingly painful, this fic is another one I had a hard time putting down once I started it. And there's already more bits to follow!)

What are your favorite ttte ships?

Ohh that's the question that I was waiting for, since I'm a multishipper I have a lot of my favorite ttte ships:

The ships in my Au:

Thomas x Rosie: this is my first ever favorite ship, when I saw these two intracred many times, I started to ship them bc they look very adorable and chummy together, and I really like the blue and pink/red dynamic sm.

James x Emily: this is literally a brain rot for me, these two in my opinion are the best, because I see how many times James flirts with Emily or being kind to her, especially in the miller era, and back there, this ship is 100% canon.

Gordon x Rebecca: this is the recent canon ship in the fandom, I love this ship because Gordon finally found someone who understands him and his nature, not like others, and I really love their ship name "Gorbecca"

Duck x Oliver: believe me or not, but in my view, this ship is perfection, althought they look too similar and had builed by the same person, I just believe in the fanmade episodes and there's a lot of signs proof that they like echother

Toby x Henrietta: the only straight ship in the fandom, they absolutely work very well and that's the opinion of anyone who thinks that

Diesel x Mavis: I don't ship them much but they are also cute, Diesel is a bad guy and likes to cause a lot of disasters, while Mavis is the one who tries to warn him to stop doing all the nonsense, but anyway I ship them

My favorite (Secret) ships:

James x Edward: they really are the cutest pairs, I really love their dynamic and how wholesome they are, and if I didn't headcanon them as brothers and I didn't have a massive crush, I'll let them being a gay couple

Donald x Duck: this ship is so fucking cute, they really make me cry of their cuteness, and I really love their episode "Donald's Duck", but we didn't have a lot of intractions of them in the CGI and that's very sad.

Douglas x Oliver: the same thing we can say about them, CUTENESS AHHH, and I love how Douglas saved Oliver from being scraped and I wish that they intracted a lot in the CGI too

Percy x Diesel 10: Uhm sorry if you don't like this one but they're not bad, in the movie "Day of the diesels" Diesel 10 shows a lot of tenderness and respect to Percy, and Percy was blushing, but he didn't know that Diesel 10 was using him to seize the steam works, and Percy was such an idiot, but their first moments are so wholesome

Gordon x Henry: these are also great and fit echother, but the problem is I headcanon them as relatives but Idgaf, I still ship them

Gordon x James: This is without a doubt the cutest ship for me. We notice that their relationship is very wonderful and no one insults the other, but it is rare to find

Emily x Caitlin: ohh this is a minor ship, they work very well tbh, Emily is being in love with another female engine is something new for her, and please don't attack me because it's just my opinion that's all

hi it's my first anon ask ever so I'm nervous but just wanted to vent briefly about a couple of popular jimmy ships. I might be lacking some information / outdated topics but I work with what I know for ig

I'm so glad flwerhsbands is dead. I loved watching their POV in third life but not because it was a dreamland cottagecore relationship, and it was mildly off putting when others thought of it as such. Jim being belittled all the time behind his back wasn't cute. it was interesting cause of how they liked eachother enough but misunderstood the other and their alliance in many ways. If they ever realigned it would probably be the same, maybe worse, and that would not feel good.

Next rachers. I haven't fully watched their povs so I may be wrong abt this but. They weren't romantic in DL but they were good to eachother. Yet it feels like m/m for the ship is like equal to every other fic they are major in, romo or not. I don't get it. I have read and enjoyed a few, but it unnerved me when fics would make them the same age / wouldn't acknowledge the age difference. Idk why it's popularity creeps me so much. I love how supportive they are but they read as just friends to me.

Lastly and completely unrelated, it's great that jim's had more times where he's not the butt of the joke this year (between skrnachers plate up and Joel cooling it on the bullying), gives him opportunities to explore different roles and it makes the teasing more enjoyable (to an extent and at viewer's opinion) when there's that diversity. Oh my god this was not brief I am so sorry.

This is very brief by my standards anon don't even worry LOL. Absolutely agree with the FH segment. I've said this twelve thousand times but I can never reiterate enough that I don't inherently dislike their dynamic in the Life series and instead find it really compelling. I don't think Scott is just straight up evil (he is not one of my blorbos but is at least in the top 3 of most interesting traffic characters without a doubt) and I don't want Jimmy to suffer but regardless the narrative isn't up to me, only my interpretation based on what I see

With ranchers, I think I can understand you feeling this way but I'll be blunt in that I personally couldn't care less about the age gap even if people choose to abide by it whilst talking about characters and not CCs, so I'm not bothered if it isn't brought up, god knows I haven't either in my rancher art or writing. In addition, most creatives within the fandom from my judgement keep these characters as kind of ambiguous players in a game without real life counterparts and within this game world, as many other things associated with real life, specific age could be obsolete, which I think is perfectly fine as far as HC and Traffic at least go as they're all adults. I could very easily see ranchers anywhere on the platonic-romantic spectrum (and it is a spectrum to me, not a scale) because two adults, I don't care, but I can see where some people take discomfort with it, and the age gap could frankly be something interesting to comment on within their dynamic, if, again, people chose to keep it strictly true to the CC ages. I have heard of people trying to counterbalance "toxic FH" with "toxic ranchers" in retaliation and using the age gap as the reason which has probably contributed to me not being able to give a fuck, because that's just kind of funny to me

And yes, ahh Jimmy's competency... it never went anywhere, it's just the environment that enforces this anti-Jimmy pretence so it's no surprise that he's able to shine more when surrounded with people supportive of him. Or not even supportive, just not belittling. That's why smallidarity gradually became my favorite little thing because Joel's relationship with Jimmy I think is really interesting in how it's changed and what it offers in commentary of the Jimmy ecosystem that Joel has been a strong contributor to before. Like unironically I think about that tweet Jimmy made in passing all the time where he replied to Joel talking about his attempted sacrifice to him in Limited Life and how the idea was illogical, and Jimmy went "That's the point, that you tried, no one's ever done that for me"

I just got a comment saying I should have tagged for dom/sub undertones and I'm a little confused. In canon, this guy always bosses his wife around re: doing shit that's healthy for her - napping, drinking water, remembering to eat more than once a day, getting more than 3 hours of sleep - and she lovingly calls him "Boss Man" as a nickname because of it. On some occasions where she's gone more than a day without eating he'll swipe her phone and order her to eat before she gets it back, something she always seems to find endearing. There's a lot of 'I didn't mean to worry you', 'you're worth worrying about, now here's your favorite homemade walnut bread' stuff, all there in canon, just lifted from canon and transplanted into my fic.

Is this dom/sub stuff? I'm aroace so I've never been in a relationship, but I assumed "take care of yourself" "I will but I will call you a silly nickname over it" was regular relationship stuff. Or is it that the frequency of it makes it dom/sub stuff, and I'm just not grasping that because my neurodivergency is making me not read the social cues correctly? I was only recently diagnosed but this has been a problem for a long time, the whole line between normal and abnormal behavior, so I thought I'd ask you. You're much more well-read than I am and know a lot more about shipping dynamics and how they're tagged. I feel like you're an expert whose opinion carries a lot of conclusions-informed-by-knowledge and so your take could help me figure this out.

People who are doms or subs or write them, if you have a guide on this stuff, that'd be cool, too. I want to educate myself more so I know if I should tag something. After all, I can't get my story to people who want to read it if it doesn't show up in the tags they're searching for. Readers aren't mindreaders. It's on me to make sure they can get ahold of the things they're looking for. I just need to work around my own ADHD-addled brain to do it.

Yes, caretaking and food control of various kinds can be a part of BDSM. No, your description of canon does not make it sound like this has obvious undertones.

Readers are going to have different interpretations. It's possible that other readers would agree with this one. I have my doubts. I suspect they're projecting. But sure, maybe other people would think there was some of that vibe.

However, if you did not intend the fic to read this way, I would not add the tag. This is not what the fic is about.

As for what this kind of thing can look like when it is intended as a dom/sub activity, the movie Secretary has a bunch of examples. She calls him on the phone to tell him what her family's dinner looks like that night; he gives her instructions about which things she can eat how much of. The way she acts while making that phone call makes it clear it's an exciting game to her. Another time, he tells her she's not allowed to cut herself anymore: he will provide what she needs.

Even if the characters are being playful, just nagging someone to do basic self care doesn't really come across as this. It's more charged when it's an intentional power exchange thing.

It's more like... hmm... if you and a friend agreed to LARP as characters for a day. Even if you were acting fairly normal and doing things you'd often do anyway, there would be this added extra vibe to it that someone who knew you well could probably detect.

It's not so much about the specific behaviors: it's about the extra meaning those people ascribe to them. If it doesn't seem like the canon characters think of this caretaking any specific way and you, as the fic author, don't see it that way, then I don't think it will generally read as a dom/sub thing to most readers.

2. Favorite canon thing about this character?

Not being too specific, his kindness. His willingness to help others, his genuine care for the well-being of the people he saves, the way even without the mask he goes out of his way to help others... It's amazing, and one of the main reasons I love his character so much.

4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?

I haven't really thought about that before, but I think I'd want to see him in Harry Potter just to figure out what house he'd be in. I just can't decide.

Oh! It'd also be cool to see him in ATLA. I don't think I've seen an Avatar AU with him in it yet.

9. Could you be roommates with this character?

Well, on one hand he's a great person, responsible and he'd probably be a great roommate. On the other...I really don't want to get blown up.

15. What's your favorite ship for this character? (Doesn't matter if it's canon or not.)

Canon I've gotta say Dickkory, no doubt. They're the perfect match, so good for each other. They have very complementary personalities and are the ones who've helped the other grow, whether DC will accept that or not. They're both also so sweet when they're together, they deserve that. A true pity DC didn't stick with them like they did with Clark and Lois.

Fanon, I'd have to go with Birdflash. Before I really got into DC I already had a liking for the pairing, and now, having learned more about their relationship in the comics, I can say they're a good pair. However, I don't like the ship to be just romantic. I like the ship when you can still tell they're best friends even if they were to date. I guess it'd be more of a queer-platonic thing with them?

16. What's your least favorite ship for this character?

I have so many ships that could fill this category, but I'll say Sladick. It just makes me uncomfortable to see them together as a pair, not to mention most of the times I've seen them paired it was portrayed as a toxic or abusive relationship. And it gets even more uncomfortable for me when the ship is between TT 03 Robin and Slade.

26. What's something the character has done you can't get over? Be it something funny, bad, good, serious, whatever?

I have three things:

Funny: That one time he licked a weird substance that was on the ground (which turned out to be heroine). Would love to know where he learnt that from, did he learnt it from Bruce or on his own?

Good: The time when he sang to a child as they slept in his arms. I thought it was such a sweet moment, I can't get over that.

Sad: And finally, when he curled up on the ground when Bruce leaves him alone in the cave, after that moment in which he punches and blames Dick for Jason's death. It broke my heart to see him like that.

loop hero ($15)- a roguelike where your character will automatically walk in a loop while you use cards to add terrain with different effects such as spawning monsters to give you loot or increasing your healing. very unique with a beautiful pixel artstyle and banger soundtrack

moonlighter ($20)- a roguelike rpg where you go dungeon diving and try to bring back as much loot as you can so that you can sell it in your shop

🔸️shadows of doubt ($20)- a first person sandbox detective simulator where each case is procedurally generated. randomly generates a town with npcs that all have names and addresses and relationships. put together clues from a crime scene and try to catch a killer before they strike again. work odd jobs between cases to keep yourself fed and housed

ultrakill ($25) fast paced first person shooter with a style system ala devil may cry. you play as a robot fighting through the layers of hell. mankind is dead. blood is fuel. hell is full

crypt of the necrodancer ($15)- a rhythm based roguelike dungeon crawler where you and your enemies are only allowed to move on beat. banger soundtrack goes without saying

everhood ($10)- a rhythm based rpg where you play as a red doll who had their arm stolen and is trying to get it back. battles involve moving between 5 lanes to avoid enemy attacks. if you like undertale you'll like this

spiritfarer ($30)- management and adventure game where you play as a spiritfarer who needs to care for spirits on her boat before leading them into the afterlife. incredibly charming and touching game. you will cry

let's school ($20)- management sim where you build and manage a school and help students graduate by setting up different courses. addicting and has a very cute artstyle

let's build a zoo ($20)- management sim where you. well where you build a zoo. a very silly game that includes a morality system where you can choose to be eco friendly and help repopulate endangered species or you can exploit your animals for their meat and produce. also has an animal splicing mechanic. haven't you ever wanted to make a giraffe with a duck head

🔸️the wandering village ($25)- a city builder with the twist that you live on the back of a giant wandering beast named onbu. you help care for onbu as he wanders though different biomes that force you to adjust your resource production as some things become unavailable (such as water in a desert)

frostpunk ($30) a survival city builder where you build around a central core and try to prevent everyone from freezing to death in progressively colder temperatures

monster sanctuary ($20)- a metroidvania style creature collector with a unique combo meter that will continue to build and increase your damage based on the number of "hits" you can perform (healing buffs and shields also count as hits) and each monster has different skill trees that you can upgrade and customize

coral island ($30)- farming life sim with a unique underwater area where you can live and farm and raise aquatic plants and animals. you work to help restore the island after and oil spill ruined the surrounding ocean. i should mention that although this game is technically not in early access it is still unfinished and missing large chunks of gameplay/interactions/story. however there is still a healthy amount of content and is still a fun game as it is

apico ($20)- a beekeeping sim where you keep bees to make and sell honey while also breeding and releasing them to help restore their numbers in the wild

spirittea ($20)- a management and life sim where you manage a bathhouse for ghosts and help the townsfolk who think they're haunted (they're right). basically a cross between stardew valley and spirited away

🔸️cloud meadow ($20)- this is a porn game ⚠️ a farming sim where instead of regular animals you have anthro characters and you can breed them yourself or with each other and have them help in combat or on your farm. very cute artstyle and amazing animation work

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Of my twelve fics, there are eleven for Fullmetal Alchemist and one for Avatar: The Last Airbender. And I am strongly considering dipping my toes into the world of Spy x Family as well (just as soon as I finish Code White).

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

Yes! When people take the time to share their thoughts on my work, it means the world to me.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Hmm, it's a tie between As You Were and The Flame Alchemist's Daughter.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Probably Death and Taxes, in spite of its bleak title!

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Thankfully, no.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Nah. I can’t even write a smooch scene without blushing and looking over my shoulder.

10. Do you write crossovers?

I haven't, but I'm not opposed to the idea if the right concept were to come to me. Closest thing I have to a crossover now is my latest fic, Mrs. Mustang, which is inspired by a scene from Pride and Prejudice.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I'm aware of. There's a special place in fandom hell for people who do that shit.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

No, but that would be cool!

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Also no, also would be cool!

14. What is your all-time favorite ship?

Ah man, I have to say Zutara (Zuko x Katara, Avatar: The Last Airbender). I've shipped them since I was a kid watching Sozin's Comet in my parent's basement in 2008. They're the ship that got me into writing fanfiction. Even though they aren't canon (*sob*) and I don't write them much anymore, they'll always be my OTP.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Ahhhh don't kill me but The Bookshelf has been giving me trouble. I have a lot of Part 2 written but it just doesn't feel right, yaknow?

16. What are your writing strengths?

I'm clear and concise. I think I'm pretty good at tension, particularly romantic tension, and angst. I pay very close attention to characterization, and pride myself in accurate portrayals of the characters in my fanfics.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I'm slow. My word counts tend to be low - side effect of being concise. I gloss over descriptions that I should probably spend more time on. I'm good at writing romantic tension, but when that tension culminates, I feel like it just gets awkward and then I cut things short when I really should draw them out. Humor and true fluff pieces do not come naturally to me, though I'm trying to stretch myself by writing more of those.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I have never done this, so no thoughts except for it sounds difficult!

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Avatar: The Last Airbender

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

This is hard, but has to be The Counteroffer, my first and most-loved Fullmetal Alchemist piece. In a creative sense, writing this story opened the gateway (lol) to so much more for me, and I'm eternally thankful that my little debut to this fandom (and return to writing overall) was so well received.

Death and Taxes and Hourglass are also close to my heart.
