#dragalia lost #dragalia #orion #orion dragalia #I don't usually cross reference JP translations for Dragalia stuff but I was curious if some of the Really Gay Lines in English were #the same in the original text. Turns out some of them weren't #which just makes the localization funnier #Like. Grain of salt because I don't speak Japanese and rely on machine translations and friends who speak the language #But the really sus “receiving end” line was originally just. “Haha it'd be nice to be the one getting escorted for once :)”#I'm sure it's not an entirely indulgent translation but. Phrasing!!!#then there's the infamous(?) “I seek to have a relationship with everyone here!” where in JP it's clearer that by “everyone”#Orion means “every woman” and not literally “everyone”#bc JP Elly says “In your case won't just any woman do?” while in EN she just calls him shameless LOL #there's a few more #like the scene where Orion says “You're the first man I've ever wanted to protect” and Euden says “damn bro I thought you weren't gay?”#and he responds calmly like “You really are slow when it comes to these matters! I'm just saying you're more charming than you know.”#it's a letdown but it's kinda coy #meanwhile since JP has some extra animations #namely Orion jumping in shock and making a cringing face before responding #the No Homo vibe is off the charts 😭😭😭#and then theres that xmas seasonal line that's about picking up women ...when voices are set to JP.#The EN line is about being broke. For some reason.#But even with all that it's not like there's no gay subtext in JP Orion's dialogue. It's just deeply funny how the EN localizers went #Yup. This one. Bisexual. We gotta make it more obvious.

(Ignoring that my Penny is a Paige kid, but) Penelope is genuinely such a great name for a Piper kid, both for Grams and for the associations itself.

First off, Piper was the closest to Grams as we can see throughout the show really. She was this strong but nurturing presence in her life, who influenced Piper's love of cooking and everything. Furthermore, Piper is the one to inherit her role as matriarch of the family, along with turning out most like her in the end. (I mean, initially sweet and gentle-hearted witch who hardens after the death of a loved one to lead her family forward and display some pretty impressive power and backbone.) So if anyone's naming their kid after Penny, it'd probably be Piper.

Secondly, as least for me, Penelope brings to mind Penelope of the Odyssey, a clever woman representing home and peace after the war. Eternally faithful, both to her lover and to her family. Additionally, it's such a classic, elegant name that I think would appeal to Piper. (Both Phoebe and Paige seem like they'd use more unique/fun names. Although I do like Phoebe kids with Greek mythology names, I think it just works for her and Coop, or even Cole, tbh.) I mean, all of Piper's kids' names have both that familial association and somewhat classic element to them: Prudence Melinda/Melinda Prudence, Wyatt Matthew, Chris (middle name not super counting here), etc. Honestly, I think that Wyatt is the least typically elegant of the names but makes up for it because of the strong familial tie.

Admittedly, it's also one of my favorite P names that's actually usable and plausible in the next gen. (Could I see Phoebe or Paige using names like Pisces or Paxton? Yes. Piper? Not really. And, in full transparency, I just really don't actually like the name Patricia or Patty that much, I'm sorry.) But it just gives such strong Piper energy to me! It's a great name, especially for a Piper kid.

I was drawing lil idea for how Honnos phone case would look like and then added a cute lil cat keychain charm and then had my brain explode getting the thought of them getting another one for Ichimatsu so him and her can have matching ones? Even cuter while still friends cause when Honno found out he was also a cat person when they first met she knew that he'd sure to must like cat theme stuff right? suggestion do you have... any wants? like obviously you do but like? suggestion my guy my ourple boy. both the easiest and hardest to write. you need a skill to say something to move conversation along but it doesn't fit any skill in particular? about 80% of the time you can have suggestion say it and it will make sense. but like actually characterizing him... how do i define you dude... what makes your character tick... urgh. i dont get you yet. im trying to understand but you are difficult.

After copious periods of staring at reference art, I had another Trevor Moment and realized Julius’ neckerchief got too far towards the middle. So that visible peek of his chest was not my personal doing-- it’s necessary.

ive always said my da4 protag would be rion's son because i enjoy the poorly thought out decisions i make on dragon age time

but at best, with a little tweaking and finagling, he'd only be 20 and i sure as hell wasn't a coherent human being at 20

#he's back to being currently nameless because i cant vibe with any name for him #caomhan didnt feel right #nikos feels worse #gotta find a good one. BUT IN THE MEANTIME it is still incredibly funny to picture him in Situations #he's very rogueish and charming #as opposed to rion's blunt force 'everything looks like a nail and i am the hammer' approach #it'll be interesting to me to see how his dad's legacy informs his perspective on solas and whether he can take a more objective view #tho i don't know how Rion survives the next ten years post Trespasser in the run up to Veilguard but he DID drink from the Well #which i suspect has insane ramifications. but regardless he is not in good shape and i don't know how his son will react #it's one thing to lose a parent but it's another thing entirely to watch them succumb to a long slow illness (the Calling)#along with EVERYTHING ELSE that happened to him during Inquisition. like. the martyrdom. the betrayal. he was set up to fall the entire tim #anyway all this to say i am very excited to jump into thedas again with my horrific Severan crew and i dont know why these are in the tags #but here we are
