Suns Trauma (Old Moon)

(I’m just gonna add a TW here if I get really pissed or heated up this is a pretty sensitive topic for me and it just pisses me off, also sorry if this becomes a bit of a vent )

ALSO TW FOR TOPICS OF ABUSE 

It infuriates me how much Sun's trauma gets overlooked. Honestly. This rant is mostly about the abuse he endured from old Moon because it disgusts me how easily people dismiss that kind of suffering. Old Moon was a TERRIBLE brother. He called Sun names, threatened to kill or hurt him, blamed everything on him, and put immense pressure on him. He even physically abused him. And yet, people just ignore this. It’s worse then it sounds— Having someone you trust completely threaten you, call you stupid, and actually hit you sometimes is AWFUL. It HURTS. Especially when it’s from someone you love!

I get that Moon had his own issues and needed someone to talk to and let anger out on, but dumping all of that on one person is not healthy. And let’s be real—Sun didn’t have anyone else to turn to. He only had Moon. And Moon had no idea what he was doing. Sure, Killcode influenced him, and he had built up anger and stress too, but Killcode never directly hurt Sun. That was Moon. Moon abused Sun.

And yet, people are more concerned about Lunar’s abuse, which, yes, was terrible, but remember: Lunar was with Eclipse for about a year, maybe less. Eclipse slapped Lunar only once if I right and called him names (also I think he threatened him a couple times). I’m not saying Lunar’s abuse wasn’t bad—abuse is abuse, and it’s always horrible. But Sun was punched, yelled at, threatened, and called names FOR ALMOST 10 YEARS (edit, it was confirmed Sun and moon were made 9 years ago. So athst around 7-8 years of abuse.). And somehow, Sun’s trauma gets ignored. It pisses me off. Lunar atleast had support too after the Eclipse situation. IT REALLY IS THAT BAD TO HAVE SOMEONE YOU LOVE CALL YOU NAMES AND THREATEN TO HURT YOU. It’s not something to shrug off! And this is only a fraction of what Sun went through.

Likewise, you wanted to do something more with your kindness. Studying the human behavior was interesting and unique in your eyes. You wanted nothing more than to help those in need, those less fortunate. Your heart was heavy which often times let’s you trip over the hands that wish to take advantage of you.

Your life was going just where you wanted, hired in a field where you can help the mentally ill, and with a supportive fiance who waits for you every night with a hot meal on the table.

With a click of your pen pressing down on the tip, the sound soothing your ears with each press. Your eyes scan over the many files of your assigned patient, it switches up every week with new faces. Wanting to be familiar with them you study each character’s appearance to their background. Interesting, intimidating and beautiful, pictures from mugshots to present photos. Looking up at the clock in the wall besides the clicking of your pen, the handles little movements are just as loud to remind you.

You gather the files back in a neat pile by slamming it gently on the table in order, tucking them under your arm. The pen clipped to your work shirt as the outside of the room gets busy. Heels ponder the floor as you make your exit out of your office, admiring how docile some patients are as they go for a walk near the garden.

The hallways were something you were determined to remember by, each carved figure and painting makes it unique to look. You’re almost too caught up in the beauty of your surroundings to see how your area of people tend to get smaller and smaller.

“Are you insane? You let him speak to me as some peasant!? I can’t take this any longer, I’m reporting this to the headmaster..” A lady screams just across from you.

She storms right pass you without notice, bumping into your shoulder. She’s wearing an ID clipped to her chest, the first thing you thought of was how unprofessional that was but kept that to yourself.

“Ma’am! Please wait—“

“Leave her man, they always complain.” A blue haired guard runs past you, ignoring his coworkers comment.

What an odd encounter. You turn your attention to the more laid back security guard who puts a hand over his neck. Disappointment spreads his features before irking a smile your way. Your lips pull back into one as well, a small wave.

“Say, are you new here? Haven’t seen you around before.” His voice is playful and lively, the atmosphere changing just as quickly.

“I am. I’ve grown accustomed to this place just last week before moving my belongings.” Small talk, but hopefully it was quick because your first patients room just so happens to be right behind him.

“Sweet, well I’ll see you around!” He tips his cap towards you, his walkie-talkie flaring to life as the man from before crackles.

Now that they were out of the way, you noticed that the lady who stormed off left the room you were supposed to enter. Shrugging, you make your way towards the door. Your hand grazes the handle, its oddly making you feel heavy and warm.

You stop yourself from turning the handle.

Knock Knock

“May I enter?”

It’s silent for a moment before you heard someone. You enter. The room is coated in a nice smell of herbs and roses, you close the door gently behind you before looking up to meet the eyes of your patient.

His face is relaxed, yet his lips look more of a frown as his brows are sharp and small. His demeanor is slightly intimidating yet his looks are beyond pleasing to look at. Large eyes watching you as you sit on a chair across from him. He seems to be having tea, his spoon mixing the herbs together. You’re unsure of who has been providing him tea, his records show that he should at least be supervised.

You eye the tea, it’s not hot because there is no smoke piling off it. You get straight to work, clearing your throat.

“Good morning, Riddle. My name is [Mx. LN]. We will be talking just for today, how does that sound?” You place a hand over your chest putting up your best introduction to get him comfortable to speak with you.

He brings the tea cup to his lips, not a noise made but the movement of his throat as he drinks. Riddle seems to be pondering for a moment, gazing at the tea before straightening himself up. His eyes seem to glare at you now, the sudden change of his attitude didn’t alarm you however.

“You’re much more civilized than the current one. How rude of her to walk out so sudden, it’s not my fault she can’t handle simple criticism. Doesn’t she know who she’s speaking too!”

Interesting, you nod along to his angry rant, taking note on how his pupils dilated and how the grip on the teacup makes his knuckles turn white. Strangely enough his body heat is clear to the eye, his face contorts from a lovely looking man to some angry sports fan. The redness on his face nearly matching his hair.

Riddle let’s out a sigh, that got out of his system and he never felt better when not being interrupted.

“Apologies…how crude of me to behave towards my underlings.” You blink.

There is a small silence again, you aren’t sure on how to respond, not when his smile is nothing but comforting. Was he aware of his behavior? How he speaks to you like some higher being yet with a tiny pinch of kindness.

Almost like child playing make believe.

“I see. I can understand how upsetting that is. Is there anything else that’s upsetting you?—“

“My king.” Riddle snaps at you, his brows furrow at you.

“Pardon?”

He makes a face of irritation, you’d have no choice but to play along to not further anger him.

“Right. My king..” The name is funny yet sends goosebumps down your arms. “I’m here to listen for your troubles.”

There’s a flash of calmness through all those fury, his breathing is much more softer and so was the atmosphere. You played carefully with your words, testing some phrases to see how he’d react. Riddle doesn’t like any back talk from what you’re understanding. His records were right about this “delusion” he’s been experiencing lately. A terrible outburst, stuck in the past as he believes rightfully the name he’s being addressed by is appropriate. 

Although it’s unhealthy to encourage this behavior, you’ll try to worm your way into his comfort. That way things could be settled easier, communication would flow once he’s trusted you enough to set personal boundaries. 

Riddle thinks over his next response, touching his forehead with a silent hiss. Medication, each patient must have medication in the morning. You cough into your hand.

“Have you taken your medication yet?”

“No…that imbecile of a woman has not yet fulfilled her duty.” You’ll call someone in later to give him his meds. Maybe next time he’d be more docile.

Time goes much slower than you expected. You get to understand a picture of Riddle’s world or view. He’s seeing things that shouldn’t be there, but those are rare occurrences. You don’t disagree over certain topics, he enjoys talking about the garden he gets to visit during his free time. Riddle is much more kinder when agreed upon, he wants things his way. Although it isn’t entirely that difficult to twists those needs.

By now he’s finished his tea, you’ve been chatting for a good hour now. You stand up and bowed a goodbye for your leave, Riddle was pleased with it at least. As you close the door behind you with a huff, you remember to report his medication to his personal nurse.

Trey, was it? You have plenty of time to get to know your new colleagues.

The door shuts with a soft click, it rings a melody in his ears. Riddle frowns at hearing your footsteps slowly disappear. He sits quietly in his seat, taking glances at the empty tea cup and white clean room. The light above him burns when he looks up. He’s bored. No one is around to talk with, not until another hour or Trey comes back.

What if in "Breaking dawn", after Jacob told Charlie that Bella is at the Cullens' house, Jasper kills Jacob then and there for telling too much and bringing Charlie?

How does Bella and the rest of the Cullens react after seeing Jasper killed Jacob in cold blood?

Charlie hasn't arrived yet to the Cullens' house, but what do they with him?

Does Bella and the rest of the Cullens forgive Jasper for what he did?

I mean, I'm sorry anon, if Jasper's killing anyone then it's Charlie.

Charlie's the loose end, the human that knows the secret, and the thing that would get the Cullens killed for breaking the law. Killing Jacob is messy in that it'd be breaking the treaty/having the wolves all at their throats.

Remember that the van incident was about the Cullens killing Bella for the misfortune of having witnessed something she shouldn't: not because Bella herself had done anything remotely wrong.

Didn't matter that Bella was a seventeen-year-old girl who'd almost been smashed by a van: she was going to die. If Jasper's murdering tonight: it's Charlie Swan.

Now, he might kill Jacob too, as Jacob clearly purposefully put them all in this situation but with the treaty he probably wouldn't want to risk that.

As it is, that he didn't kill Charlie is likely a mixture of Bella and the treaty where there's now dozens of wolves vs. the van incident where there were presumed 0 wolves and no consequences for casually murdering the denizens of Forks.

"I would never kill your father, Bella, never," - words Jasper didn't even have to say because Bella never realized that was a very real possibility.

But Alright, Fine, He Kills Jacob, How Does the Family Take It?

"Oh no, it's terrible, Jacob jumped off a cliff and died" -Jasper. I imagine Jasper's not up front about what happened. Bella has way too much emotional investment in Jacob, Edward's getting weird too, and while it's going to be obvious what happened it's better for Bella if she gets a little white lie and plausible deniability in front of the wolves.

They then have to leave town immediately as the wolves will suspect them (rightly) of murder and I imagine the Cullens are generally very side-eye about it. Nobody likes it, exactly, but on the other hand Jacob did nark to a human, Bella's father, who nearly got eaten by Bella because of it, so that he could hang out with a baby that he's imprinted on.

That was a lot of not good right there.

So, they default to their usual Cullen behavior. Rosalie probably approves and was likely considering doing the same thing herself, Alice is just focused on making sure Bella never finds out because she'd never forgive Jasper/the entire family for it, Jasper is utterly unrepentant, Emmett once again thinks he's in a family of lunatics but well them's the breaks, Esme genuinely thinks Jacob jumped off a cliff and died and it's very sad, and Carlisle would make Jasper attend Jacob's funeral except they have to leave town now so he's mostly just lowkey pissed (but also still ruminating on that imprint thing because what the actual fuck).

The one who's livid beyond reason is Edward. Edward actually comes to really like Jacob and would be extremely upset that Jasper just killed him when all Jacob wanted was to be with his soulmate imprint uh baby friend. Jacob couldn't help the imprint even if he wanted to, he only went to such an extreme because the family was leaving, and now Bella's being forced to leave her father who had done fairly well with the reveal, Jacob has been murdered in cold blood, and Edward's daughter is down one protector and will be alone forever.

He's never been more pissed at Jasper in his life. (Jasper just eclipsed Rosalie's spot as Edward's least favorite person in the family with ease).

Worse, Edward has to hide this from Bella who is emotionally devastated by all of this and completely falling apart as a person as her pillar of emotional support, Jacob, is dead and she now has to leave Forks and her family.

What Happens to Charlie

If Jasper's gone this far, he's killing Charlie, as discussed above. He might, maybe, probably not get talked out of it if a) Carlisle says "fuck it I'll turn him" to tie up the loose end or b) ... Nope, he's doing it.

Charlie dies.

Bella is not told.

Does Anyone Forgive Jasper

Bella never realizes Jasper did it, it wouldn't occur to her to doubt him or the other Cullens at this point (remember this is not And Then There Were None by me and @therealvinelle where before the incident it was revealed that there was a large rift between the Cullens and Jacob that Bella hadn't been aware existed). Bella falls into a deep New Moon style depression.

Edward does not forgive Jasper but it's much the same as he never forgives Rosalie. He doesn't do anything about it (as that would only make things worse) but he makes sure they know he'll never forgive them.

The rest of the family... they weren't that upset or surprised to begin with. This is the sort of thing Jasper's threatened to do in the past, would absolutely go through with, and isn't exactly shocking.

I imagine the blame mostly falls on Jacob, who if he'd just kept his mouth shut, wouldn't have made this all happen.

I have been feeling this laziness for a few years, but my friends believe it might be depression according to my situation.

Anyways, I would match you with Leviathan!

I think the two of you would get along really well, as you have quite a bit in common. You're both pretty quiet, so you could just relax and enjoy each other's company without the need for conversation. Your patience and kindness would be a huge plus in the beginnings of your relationship, as Levi would be quite slow to open up. It would take him some time, but with your help, he'd get there eventually. Once he does, he's very affectionate and loving, if a bit nervous. The both of you are also very loyal to each other which is something he values a lot.

Both you and Levi also have a lot of negative traits in common. You're both very self-deprecating and anxious, but I actually think this would work out quite well. For as self-deprecating as Levi is towards himself, he would do anything within his power to hype you up. He is your biggest fan and number one support system. In the same way, I can see him starting to treat himself better, especially if he has you helping him. If you're ever stressed out, his room is a sensory safe haven. The cool lighting helps relax you immediately, and he has so many pillows and blankets to get comfy in. His room also has a lot of distractions if you need a brain break, and he's more than happy to share them with you.

Badminton is definitely not a hobby Leviathan enjoys participating in, but you better believe he is, once again, your biggest hype man. Whether you just play for fun or you're seriously competing, Levi is right there to cheer you on from the stands. If he wasn't so anxious about drawing attention, he'd probably make a sign and everything. Other than that, you both have pretty similar hobbies. Levi only really reads manga and light novels, but he's not opposed to regular books if you have any recommendations for him. He'll read anything you recommend, trust me. He also loves art, especially drawing. Craft dates would be very fun for the two of you, especially if you happen to enjoy the same mediums. Obviously, he also loves anime and manga. A lot of your time spent together is in his room watching anime. he also lends you his manga collection since he trusts you to take care of it.

And, look, you and Levi have a lot in common. I usually match him with people I think have a similar vibe. I also think he would be surprisingly good at helping you overcome a lot of your more "negative" traits. As much as Leviathan looks down on himself, he would not feel the same way about you, regardless of how similar y'all may be. If you're feeling insecure, Levi is right there to hype you up. If you need to vent or talk about something, he will listen to you without any judgement. He'll also give you honest advice if you ask for it. Dragon Ball Super 062

How it started.

How it’s going.

Last time, Trunks got really really really really mad, and transformed into some other variation of Super Saiyan.  So now he’s almost as strong as a Super Saiyan Blue, which doesn’t help, since Goku Black is currently 4-0 against Super Saiyan Blues.

Vegeta tries to jump in, but the Zamasu double-team moves are just impossible for them to cope with. 

And Goku’s down with a nasty case of a big hole through his torso.  Funny how he’s actually selling in this episode when it seemed to just make him stronger in the previous episode.  Fuck this arc so hard.

The best Trunks’ new form seems to be able to do is to hold Black and Zamasu off long enough for the others to retreat in the Time Machine.  Vegeta hates this idea, but he hated the idea of coming here without a plan, and everything that’s happened on this trip has proved him correct.  He shouldn’t see this as a cowardly retreat, but a correction of an earlier blunder. 

So Bulma and Vegeta return home with Goku, and Bulma is furious with Beerus.  She tells him what happened, which isn’t too complicated since it’s basically the exact same thing that happened on the first trip to fight Black.  Nothing has changed.  Beerus destroying Zamasu in the present day didn’t accomplish diddly dick.

Beerus tries to play it cool by acting more bemused than shocked.  He admits he had a feeling it might turn out this way, since Trunks did make a compelling argument for this.  But Bulma’s pissed because he acted so insulted when the others doubted him.  She nearly takes a swing at him, but Vegeta tells her they need to focus on finding a way to help Trunks. 

As for Beerus, once he hears Vegeta’s report of the situation, he takes his leave.  As far as he’s concerned, the situation has been resolved in this reality, which is the only one he’s beholden to.  The Earthlings may do whatever they wish going forward, but his involvement is concluded.  Whis wishes Bulma good luck.  She seems upset to see them go, but it’s not like they were doing that much before, you know? 

I mean, they helped save “our” Gowasu, but that guy sucks so who cares?  They got rid of “our” Zamasu, but that’s the equivalent of Krillin blowing up the embryonic Cell in Gero’s basement, while the adult Cell is running around drinking whole Battlebowl teams.  And they helped uncover the mystery of Goku Black’s identity, but I’m not sure knowing who he is really changes the calculus of this battle.  Besides, he seemed quite happy to explain the whole thing himself. 

Vegeta takes a walk to think this out, and Kid Trunks goes to the one person he can count on for support: Goten.  Hey, yeah, remember Goten?  He’s barely done anything in this whole arc.  And... he still won’t do anything from here on.  I find this annoying, because they put him on that still at the end of the opening credits, which shows all the major players in this saga.

See?  There in the upper right.  Goten.  The implication is that it’s Goku, Mai, and Trunks against Zamasu and Goku Black, with Kid Trunks, Goten, and the Pilaf Gang doing comic relief bullshit.  That’s mostly turned out to be true, except for Goten being involved.  And it’s not like I’m a huge Goten fan or anything, but that still feels like a bait-and-switch. 

Anyway, this leads to Chi-Chi and Gohan coming over to find Goku and Goten, and everyone meets in the yard and this is how Chi-Chi finds out what’s been going on all day.  She started cooking food for Goku while she waited for him to come home, and now she’s got tons of food, which works out, because Goku’s starving after that liver-stabbing defeat he suffered in the future.

I’ll skip the part where they recap the whole Saga for the other characters.  All that matters is that Bulma will have the time machine refueled in twelve hours, but they need a strategy to beat those dickholes.  Piccolo has an idea: The Evil Containment Wave, also known as the Mafuba.  

Just in case you’re new to this: The Mafuba was Plan A for defeating King Piccolo in his saga during Dragon Ball.  Roshi’s master, Mutai-Itoh, developed the move when King Piccolo first attacked the world centuries earlier.  Since King Piccolo was too powerful to defeat by force, Mutai-Itoh focused on developing a technique that would contain King Piccolo by sealing him up in a pot, where he could never harm anyone again.  It worked, but Mutai-Itoh died from the intense physical toll of the technique.   When King Piccolo returned, Roshi attempted to use the move again, but he missed.  Tien tried to use it himself, but his jar got damaged before he could make the attempt.  So the world had to settle for Plan B, which was the Goku-Beats-the-Ever-Loving-Fuck-out-of-King-Piccolo Technique.   Plan B was awesome.

The bottom line is that this could be a way to defeat Zamasu despite his invincible body.  Goku just needs someone to show him how to perform the move.  Piccolo offers, since he used it himself to turn the tables on Kami in the 23rd Budokai, but Goku ignores him and teleports to Roshi to learn it from him.  Quite a sick burn on King Piccolo’s son.  Plan B’s a long game.

So while Roshi teaches Goku to practice on Turtle, Vegeta goes to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber to train, since he’s clearly not strong enough as he is now. 

Meanwhile, Beerus returns... to Gowasu’s home in Universe 10?  Seems he isn’t finished with this matter after all. Whis confides in Gowasu that Beerus feels responsible for things going poorly, since he was sure he had solved everything by destroying Zamasu in Episode 59.  The trouble is, while Beerus is sure he could easily take out Black and Future Zamasu, they’re in the future of an alternate timeline, so he can’t get to them without violating the rule against time travel.  But Gowasu can, so Beerus tells him the entire story, and Gowasu resolves to take responsibility for this.  Well that’d be a first...

Rene: A handsome male with jet black hair and hazel eyes. He loves gaming and food. He hates mashed potatoes. He has magical powers and an agency at his fingertips. He is very nice and kind-hearted, but don't get him mad. He talks casually and can decipher what slang words like "skibidi" or "gyatt" means

Rosalina: (from the Mario series) A goddess. She has hair that covers one of her eyes and a star wand. She is also very nice and will help anyone in need. She talks quite formally. She knows nothing about Gen Alpha.

Pomni: (from The Amazing Digital Circus) A female jester. She dons a jester hat that goes down to her back, a jester suit, and jester boots. Pomni has a very paranoid personality. She finally got out of the circus, but can't figure out how to get the censor filter off. She talks a bit frantically and casually. SHE KNOWS THE HORRORS OF THE INTERNET.

Jax: (also from The Amazing Digital Circus) A periwinkle rabbit with pink overalls and yellow gloves. He is mean to some extent and loves playing pranks on the other members. He has no clue about what the internet has done to him. He's just afraid of the fangirls.

Talking Flower: (also from the Mario universe) A talking flower with an orange head with a gaping hole and green petals. They would love to eat anything in their paths. They are also helpful with advice.

Stargirl: A girl who has some gimmicks up her sleeve. She has honey-colored hair and freckles. She is quirky and bubbly. Suprisingly, she knows every Gen Alpha word. (but she doesn’t use them)

Meggy Spletzer: (from SMG4) An Inkling/human hybrid. She is also a talented lawyer. She has freckles and headphones and goggles on her head.She talks casually, but does not know any Gen Alpha words.

Ragatha: (from The Amazing Digital Circus) A lifesized ragdoll with a button eye and a dress. She also has doll-like hair. She is scared of centipedes and has a hate/like relationship with Jax. She talks kind of formally.

Caine: (from The Amazing Digital Circus) An AI that tried to trap Pomni, Jax, and Ragatha in a circus. He is basically a pair of teeth with eyes and a suit. He did not know any Gen Alpha words until Jax hacked into his system, now he says them constantly.

Zesteel: (property of @vyn-t0koyami ): A very powerful god. He has dark skin and eyes that can pierce anyone with just a glare. He has a ruling personality that stands out from the others. He speaks very formally, but sometimes he talks casually.

Animaniacs: A silly trio that consists of Yakko, Wakko, and Dot. Yakko talks a lot and is the oldest. Wakko is the middle child and eats. A LOT. Dot is always self-aware and cutesy.

Gimberly (property of Doodley on YouTube): A very optimistic lady who helps Doodley with his videos. She can stay calm in almost any situation and is great for emotional support. She has a default sphere as her hair tie.

Thoughts on Barbie

Mostly negative ones but some compliments too (tagging @galaxydaggers cause you asked) SPOILERS

White cis feminism Both main characters are white. We saw plenty of different Barbies but they serve 0 functions, I wouldn't even call them supportive characters they are just in the background. The only other "active" Barbie is also white. The two human characters are Latina (I think?) but I think they lack depth (more on that later) The movie feels kind of cisheteronormative, ngl. There are 0 queer people or at least not enough for me to notice... Some might say Allan but I don't think we should settle for comic relief that is not even clearly gay. And all this Ken and Barbie stuff that exits the characters at hand and serves as a larger metaphor for the relationship between men and women... My friend also mentioned how Barbie went to a gynaecologist immediately after becoming "human, " showing that being a real woman means having female genitalia... I think this perspective has some value even though personally I just saw it as a joke with no thought behind it

Too many topics to handle This movie is about many things. It's about feminism, it's about an existential crisis, it's about growing up, it's about relationships and a one-sided crush. It lasts two hours and it is not enough to develop such topics and cover them in details and nuances they deserve. The movie tries to be about so many things that it ends up not doing any of them justice

In the face Well, the message of the movie is that feminism is great and becoming your own person is good as well. It is hard to miss because the characters will tell you this in the face. The whole speech thing I saw being praised is just one of the characters spelling out what the movie is trying to say about feminism. It could've been just a tweet or a tumblr post. It doesn't have much artistic value and it is something that has been said many times You can disagree with me but I don't like this. I prefer when a movie makes me think or delivers the message in a subtle way. I like it when I need to move my brain and arrive at my own conclusion instead of being spoon-fed like a baby. I think in a movie the message should be delivered through the actions of characters, their situations, and emotions and not through making them spell out every conclusion you want to make

Underdeveloped characters and lacking plot Most characters have no depth to them, no personality. Ken was probably the most interesting at the beginning, feeling jealous and fighting for Barbie's attention but it was sidelined to make him more of an idiot. Human characters have a bit more personality but not by much. They are the way they are because the movie needs them to be this way and they act the way they do because of the plot or haha funny. And the plot isn't even good. Characters lack motivation (Mattle needs to stop Barbie because... what?) and there are no explanations for some things (like the hell is Barbieland?) Some plot points I'll discuss more in detail taking their message into account

Is it that easy to switch? After Ken finds out about patriarchy he goes back to Barbieland and turns it into Kendom. And all women dress up in revealing outfits and serve men now. And my question is... Why? Why would they listen to him and agree with him? How could he brainwash them? Why are they so happy to be in this position? Are women just a bunch of sheep ready to throw their rights away? This is not how systems of oppression are established and it's no like the oppressed group just gives up on being presidents and writers for fun. That's just stupid

Ken and Barbie questionable moment One of the more outrageous moments to me is the whole Ken-Barbie relationship and what it says about feminism and male radicalisation. We see that Barbie doesn't treat Ken right and sidelines him, and then Ken becomes obsessed with patriarchy. Ken's actions almost feel like Barbie's fault. The movie doesn't blame her but that is the way the plot develops. Not to mention how after everything that he did Barbie has to lull Ken and convince him to leave her house and develop a personality when imo Ken had plenty of personality before the movie made him a patriarchy-obsessed idiot

Where does existential crisis come from? It's supposed to be one of the main themes but I left the theatre feeling confused. Why was Barbie thinking about death? Her human's trouble was too mundane to justify it tbh.... How many kids think about death, c'mon, there are suicidal children and somehow you are telling me it is the first time something like this happened? Plot-wise it's stupid but message-wise it kinda says that existential crisis comes out of nowhere when it is a deep rethink of what you are... Are you telling me the writer couldn't come up with a life-changing event? Or at least show depression properly?... I don't believe

Men crying and women crying Curious thing. Why when Barbie is crying it's this touching significant moment but when Ken crying it is haha funny moment? And then you say "I am a modern man I know crying is ok". Kind of weird to say that after not treating their crying as equally important?...

Pink everywhere It was a nice experience to be a part of some big cultural event and dress up in punk and go to barbienheimer and all that stuff. Truly a unique and interesting experience

The final question is: what was this movie made for? It lacks artistic value. It lacks a good message. It's funny and touching sometimes. Yet, it just feels empty and disappointing at the end. It sure has a cultural impact but that makes it a good meme, not a good film. Maybe all it is, in the end, is an ad for Barbie

What is the actual story with the kitty cats :0 I’ve only seen you post about them recently so I’m super curious

this turned into a like. whole ass overview of almost everything rn so please excuse the fact that it's under a cut. it gets kinda long. the brain worms got me.

Okay so, it takes place after a Big War that started because The King (first cat below and "The King" is his name and the only thing he's referred to as) decided he wanted to conquer all of the cats and rule over all of them up until the ocean.

He had a Right Hand Man, Chamberlain AKA Lain (second cat above) who was basically his servant who would do anything for The King, no questions asked. This includes murder and anything. The King raised Lain but they do not consider each other family, The King cultivated a sort of "business" relationship with Lain very early on, where he was the boss and Lain was the subordinate. Due to this, Lain has a hard time making decisions for himself and often bends to authority because he's been told what to do/believe his whole life.

on the flipside, Mariner and Canary, shown respectfully below, were not like that at all. Mariner was a weird hermit who muses about the meaning of life all the time while living at The End of the World (which is the ocean for these cats) with his wife Canary (who uses he/she btw)

They were dragged into the war because of Canary's old group "The Flock" (ruled by the three cats below: crane, condor, and warbler) wanted her help in fighting off this threat. Wanting to support his wife and keep her safe. He let the flock use the beaches as a sort of base for them. During one of the battles, Lain killed Canary, which Mariner saw but wasn't able to stop it. Afterwards, Mariner helped the flock in any way he could as vengeance.

Long war story short, The Flock won, Condor killed the king, and Lain wasn't killed and was put in a dungeon. For Political Reasons, The Flock wants Lain alive. Crane wants to turn all of the ex king's empire cats into flock members, thinking that she can do right where The King Failed. She wants to use Lain's influence in the now scattered army to get them to trust her.

As well, because Mariner helped the flock so much during the war, Crane gave Mariner the new title of king to try to attract ex empire cats as well, keeping the status quo in tact. On top of that, he was given Lain as a personal servant/prisoner to do with as he wishes. And Mariner does sort of enjoy tormenting his wife's killer a bunch.

THAT'S BASICALLY WHERE EVERYONE IS AT THE START OF THE STORY SORRY FOR THE RAMBLE, deciding to start it after a big war that affected everyone terribly is a very fun decision, but it's gonna require a lot of flashbacks in the actual story to get the full scope and understanding of everything.

The story is very character focused too, It focuses primarily on Mariner and Lain's relationship. Lain is placed back into a role he's used to, being an obedient little dog, but this time with a guy he does not like a guy that does not like him. Mariner in turn, has to deal with his feelings on having his wife's killer at his fingertips and having the power to do basically anything to him. A big focus on the story is choice, and free will, as well as manipulation and abuse because of course.

Speedround of all the other characters rn

Grouse: Kind in the same boat as Lain, but he's Condor's bf/servant. Condor saved his ass during the war, and Grouse as "gratitude" became completely devoted to Condor. Unlike Lain tho, Grouse is delusion and thinks that he can leave his situation anytime he wants, and believes that Condor loves him (he doesn't. he just thinks it's fun to have a guy who will do whatever). Grouse and Lain are parallels to each other and butt heads a lot.

Scout: a bg character for most of act 1 but he gets more relevance in act 2. A very passive guy who is "mates" with crane (he technically never broke it off with her so he comes and goes. it's like an on and off again thing). Really chill, but it's very clear he always puts his wellbeing and safety first over others.

Wolf: entirely an act 2 bitch. She's an anarchist and hates leaders and being in any kind of large groups of cats. Simply avoided the conflict of the war and lives on her own. Her and Scout kind of have a thing whenever he's away from Crane. Very Territorial. Speaks with a heavy accent that's like. if you combined pirate and british.

And I totally agree!! Donnie seems to have somewhat interest in romance, like the innuendo at the Bearnardo “why I always like the cute and mean ones” and with Atomic Lass. But a teen flirty normal level (thank god, I also agree with you at the “pls they dont care yet, its hormones. Pls focus family and friends), than to actually have smth not rlly, and the arosexual part? I may be projecting a lil here. But he always seemed more interested in the flirt part than anything else.

With Leo, he liked to flirt, but more to charm the person to gain their favor than actually flirt, like in Donnie’s case. He always seemed averse, but not against it, just “yuck”. I felt that was also a normal teen reaction like “I don’t wanna get strings attached” but with smth more, a “yeah, rlly not for me” thing. I can totally see him being gray/demi aro (again projecting? I’m gray/demi aroace), since with some stuff he seems fine but with others, more exaggerated or “honeyed” ones, he gets uncomfortable. But I could understand if ppl put him on sex-repulsed full Aro in the spectrum.

It’s totally wild and funny to me how the fandom is rlly 8/80. The dynamics of both of them being switched in the fandom to fit the box idea that they created for these two is wild to me. “Oh, Donnie’s autistic and 10% of the time, specially in stressful situations, he doesn’t want to be touched? And also a genius nerd? Nah, he’s a goofy goober which the idea of relationships is totally alien and foreign to him, he totally runs from it and has 0 experience of it”. “Oh, Leo’s has narcissistic tendencies and flirted to gain favors before in specific and numbered occasions? He’s totally a flirt, believing everyone wants to date him and he’s a heartbreaker, he totally loves that attention, not uncomfortable at all”

So yeah, sorry for my lil rant, but I rlly do feel whatchu said in that post a whole lot!!

The thing is, the turtles are teens, PLUS they lived an isolated way of life. They had NO way of acting on their interests no matter if they had or didn't have any.

And also. Attraction and relationships are not connected whatsoever! They can. But they don't have to! So the allo person might not want any relationships and aspec person can want and be in one. The relationship status says NOTHING of their identity xD

And moving on to Donnie. He has crushes on fictional character and makes sense, again, no people around. But he also used this his type on Strawberry who are very real and in the moment and is very cute and is very mean to him xD Donnie has a type with real girls too. What he wants to do with this attraction and if he has any sexual attraction is unknown and obviously, it's a kid's cartoon and romance is basically a non-existant part of it(thank god xD). And anyone can hc almost any queer and not queer identity on him, because all of them can and will work xD

Same with Leo, we have some canon moments with him, but it can work for so many queer identities. He is aro as a very direct conclusion. He is grey or demi and his repulsiveness tones down if he falls for someone, etc xD He can also be just a teen who is not into romance but now it extra disgusts him. Anything can work and as long as we are not forcing our hcs on others, it's all good xD

I also hc Donnie a quick developer, he had his plastron developed first, he instalearned his mystics. He could get into the whole romance territory earlier than Leo too xD Leo might not be that enthusiastic the way Donnie is, but still!

Although Mikey doesn't seem to mind and Raph is a big supporter as a comparison xD

And yeeeeeeah I am not a fan(although I can VERY much understand) of latching on this one trait, no matter if it's a rare one or not, and making it the whole personality. Donnie is autistic and very rarely is not 100% excited for a touch? He is touch repulsed autistic. He has canon romantic interests? Nah he is aroace. (Which I LOVE aroace hcs. But I've noticed that in fandoms aroace hcs 99% mean NO romance and NO sex NEVER, even though aspec has SO much variation). With Leo he has these few sad moments and BOOM he is a 100% 24/7 sad boy that was born depressed and all that. Despite the fact that he is very joyful and very confident and very cocky most of the time. YES he copes with jokes, this doesn't mean ALL his jokes are just cover ups. Donnie's copes with collecting data, doesn't mean he doesn't do it on regular just cause he likes it. HECK both of them tend to cope with the thing they like, so they would feel better. Donnie likes data collecting so he copes with it. Leo likes joking so he copes with it.

In regard to the Faruzan situation: 

There has been a lot of complaining about her, so I want to write it all out. The issue with Faruzan is not any one thing, but rather a combination of bad choices stacked on each other. 

1) She has an 80 cost burst but generates only 2 particles, which means she needs huge amounts of ER to run. In itself, this is pretty whatever. Like two thirds of the cast (minimum) have energy issues. 

2) Those two particles are locked behind a charged shot, a widely reviled mechanic that caused endless complaints when Sara released. Some people are ok with it, but most aren’t. Even people who use Sara just straight up skip it. Which they can do because Sara’s C2 aaaaand... 

3) Sara runs with Raiden and gets her burst filled back up even if she generates 0 particles personally. Gorou runs on a team of 3-4 Geos, who all battery each other. Faruzan doesn’t have those mitigating factors. Of the two Anemo DPS characters, Xiao has to run with a dedicated battery on his team and Scaramouche guides directly tell you to only burst every other rotation because getting it back up every time is too difficult. They can’t even battery themselves, much less Faruzan... their support. Scaramouche’s kit even disincentivizes running more than two Anemo characters because you miss out on one of his buffs (and god help you if you want to run a Geo support). 

4) Her buffs are entirely in her burst. Yes, her A1 lets her charged shot give the same buff as her burst, but only for 4 seconds. Even Sara gives 6 seconds of buff, and her tengu lightning explicitly has a delay before it comes down, so that you can switch characters and use they skill/burst just as it hits, enjoying the entire duration. You can even buff different characters on her skill and her burst if you want to. And Gorou doesn’t have this issue since he has 10s duration of his skill, which can more or less cover Itto’s 11s burst, since I believe the buff also has a 2 sec duration before expiring.  

These things combined make Faruzan extremely difficult to use, and none of her cons before C6 mitigate it. Her buffs are good, but not if she can’t reliable use them outside of a very specific and awkward setup. 

And then you get to her C6. And it’s just insulting. 

5) Sara and Gorou C6 give element-specific Crit DMG too. But that’s ALL they do. There’s nothing else in those C6s, at all. 

Faruzan’s C6 gives her Anemo Crit DMG buff, but it also solves her awkward buff range issues AND gives her CC AND solves her energy issues AND turns her into a battery AND gives her additional buffing option (Tenacity). All at the same time. 

It’s like... they had a kit in mind, and then they stripped down all of it in order to stuff it into a single con. 

Getting a 4 star’s C6 is an insane RNG exercise, even when you’re down for the banner 5 star. I will never forget how I went to 80 + 74 on Zhongli’s 2022 Lantern Rite banner and got ONE SINGLE copy of Xingqiu the entire way through. I got 8 Yanfei and 8 Beidou, but 1 Xingqiu. That could be Faruzan for any Scaramouche wanter. And if you’re a Xiao main (or, god save you, a Heizou main) who doesn’t even want the rate up 5 stars? There’s even online stories about people getting to C6 Scaramouche before C6 Faruzan. All while she’s almost certainly locked to his banners, just like Gorou and Sara are locked to Itto and Raiden, so the opportunities for her cons are few and far between. 

Being blunt...

Faruzan’s burst should have never been that weird polyhedron with the triangle movement pattern. It should have always triggered repeated collapses around the on-field character. That’s how Gorou’s burst works, functionally: his skill but it follows you. And her cons should have then added to the collapses’ functionality, something like C1 increased burst duration, C2 suction, C4 energy gen, C6 Crit DMG. 

Yes, you’d have energy issues to C4 that way, yes, that is separate from the charged shot issue, but at least it wouldn’t all be gated to C6. Because a 4 star’s C6 shouldn’t just turn them into a different, better character, seriously.

nancy ng, a 29 year old woman from Monterey Park, CA, went missing in Guatemala on a yoga retreat. it wasn't nancys first time in the resort, last year she booked a retreat at lake Atitlan in Guatemala. This year she was online that the same host from last year was hosting another 7-day yoga retreat, and naturally she immediately signed up. given that the retreat was supposed to last 7 days, nancy was supposed to be home in monterey park on october 22nd. on wednesday october 19th nancy father got a call stating that nancy has gone missing, now apparently Guatemalan rescue teams only look for a person for 72 hours after the person has been reported missing which means thats after the first three days of finding nancy, nancys family had to hire a private team with their own saved pocket money. and after even 16 days they have covered almost 90% of the lake and have yet to find any remains of nancy. the search crew leader, Chris Sharp, has come out on tv and states

''I can't confirm she ever went in the water, there were witnesses that have now returned to the United States who have not been forthcoming. It could potentially be a murder or a homicide, we don't know''

what he means by not going into water is that, many guatemalan newspapers and tv stations have been saying she went missing during kayaking, in water. but the few american articles about nany dont mantion any kayaks or water at all. though on her familys 'go fund me' they state she was last seen in an area that was as deep as 300m, and there is no mention of a found kayak. and as Chris Sharp said earlier, they cant get ahold of any witnesses because they all went beck to the United States. due to lack of evidence and remains, the likelyhood of nancy drowning is quickly approaching 0%, and her being murdered is getting way more likely.

now what i said earlier about the kayak situation, it has been confirmed by nancys family that she was in fact on a kayak. now with nancys situation getting more likely of a murder or a kidnapping, we must check out that on the United States goverment travel website theres a travel advisory especially for guatemala since june-july this year. it says that there has been a recent upatek in violent crimes in guatemala such as extortion, murder, armed robbery, trafficking, narcotics and more. some parts of guatemala are so dangerous theyre out right banned for tourists, though lake atitlan isnt banned but its specifically listed as advisory as some areas are known targets for criminals. in the advisor they tell us to not go in the water or on the trails alone (ha, ha..). neither the resort or the witnesses have filed nancy missing for about 24 hours which is really suspicious because one of the witnesses has confessed of being in the water in a kayak with nancy when she dissapeared, and apparently went to go for a swim and drowned. which is also suspicious due to lake atitlan being highly polluted and contaminated. as of november 9th, nancy still hasnt been found in the water, but her kayak has been found. whats also interesting is that the resort hasnt posted after photos of the retreat like they did last year. now i know what we are all thinking, if they arent guilty why didnt they come out earlier, or file her missing earlier?

AS OF NOVEMBER 13TH

the owners of the kayak rental company where the group got the kayaks has spoken out and said that only 8 out of the 10 kayaks rented actually came back. the beals (the owners of the kayak rent) stated that they heard a disstress call out about 100 yards in the water, the woman that was with nancy was being ushered up the dock by the yoga instructor and they are claiming that the whole group was acting very strange and being really quiet. they said that they seemed like they all decided to not speak and they just left. later on the beals remembered that the group didnt even pay for the kayaks and decided to call the spa, where they were staying. only to be told that the group left only about 8-12 hours after nancy dissapeared. even nancys family has tried reaching out to the woman that last saw nancy alive, but say that she is refusing to cooperate.

AS OF NOVEMBER 14TH

what we know is that the whole group decided to change their flight for a day earlier, as we know the retreat was supposed to last until the 20th of october and they were supposed to fly out on october 21st. but the whole group of 9 people changed their flights to a day early, weird right? it gets weirder. apparently nancys room was completely ransacked.

now we know the identity of the woman that was last seen with nancy, her name is Christina Marie Blazek, and the other witness, the yoga instructor, is Eddy Rimada.

tell me how do you, see what happens, without a word lave the kayaking place, not pay, continue to ransack nancys room i guess looking for something, and flee the country a day early not saying a word? whats worse is that Christina is A PUBLIC LAWYER, yeah she is the first person that should know what to do in a situation of a missing person...

christina has put out some statements through her lawyer, the 1st one is claiming she didnt go out in the lake with nancy at all, she says they just happened upon each other on the lake. saying that nancy wished to go swimming to which christina advised her not to, nancy didnt listen and christina went to get ahold of nancys kayak to hold it from drifting away. she says that when she turner around nancy wasnt there...

Jokes aside, I'm pretty fond of the ship and have seen it work quite well. I've read quite a few tasertricks fics on ff.net, but none on a03, mostly because I was more into the ship when I was younger. I enjoy kicking around the idea and playing with the possibility of the pairing, but I have felt all excitement about shipping Loki with anyone drain from my very soul after the Loki series, hence why I haven't really done anything about it.

I guess I just like the set-up of the fics, where Loki, Darcy, Jane, and Thor are often plopped together into a space too small for four inhabitants, Loki and Thor are about 2 seconds away from actively stabbing each other at all times, and there's usually some sort of outside threat that forces Darcy and Loki to work together with their brains. Odin is a jerk. And if not that then the same thing but without Thor there. Idk. There's just something deeply comforting about the repetitiveness to me.

But as a pairing, I think that when Darcy, whose background is mostly a blank slate and her sole purpose in the movies is mostly to be Jane's Friend TM, is flushed out, I think that Darcy could be a good match for him. Given that I think that Loki enjoys verbal sparring--which she would do all the time--but also someone who would be supportive and a good listener. On the contrary, Darcy, who is from what we've seen, is usually pretty wild and I think a calmer partner would bring her a lot of peace, which is why I think they'd work together ~balance ~

Plus the two of them would never be against calling out BS in family situations, which would definitely help. Also Darcy is not an idiot, and Loki, I'm guessing, would be attracted to intelligence, so. Honestly I think if they weren't a couple, they would be really, really good friends.

This is why I don't think Sylvie/Loki or Mobius/Loki would work. they don't balance each other. Sylvie is constantly trying to kill/hurt someone, which means that Loki is always trying to mediate her emotions and she makes 0 effort to consider his, which would be draining. But it would be like this all the time. Sylvie hasn't been in a position where she's had to care about someone else's emotions since she was a very young child, and she needs someone who would constantly be smacking her metaphorically over the head about this in order to maintain a healthy bond. Loki wouldn't do this. He'd never be able to assert his needs or tell her no because she'd yell at him so he would be stuck in a cycle of exhaustion while she always won. Sylvie is an unintentional manipulator, I think, just because of her inexperience with people.

Mobius is an intentional one. Mobius on the other hand is never willing to take critique and does not want to help Loki grow as a person. He's so obsessed with the idea of Loki staying exactly as he is post A1 that he'll do almost anything to beat Loki down into that same place. Mobius does not know how to deal with a Loki who values themselves, nor does he want to. But because Mobius has no desire to help Loki evolve, or listen to Loki's needs even when he tells him directly, Loki would also never be happy or healthy inside of this relationship. Mobius is unwilling to change because he doesn't see anything wrong with what he's doing.

Darcy is different. She and Jane have maintained a friendship for years, she has a good relationship with Selvig and Jane, to the point that they move to a different country together. Darcy has been helping Jane with her post-Thor depression and encourages her dating. Darcy maintains a relationship with Ian, even if its mostly played for laughs by the movie. She may be a little socially awkward, but she is willing to help people, listen, and be supportive where she can. Once she and Loki became friends, I think that Darcy would be fiercely protective of him and help him grow and evolve in a healthy way and would be very proud of him.

actually, while I write this I am realizing that I do not often share my views on MCU ships because I don't tend to talk about it that often. I'm not really someone who is inside fandom to write about romance. It's usually pretty secondary to me. I honestly can't see myself writing a fic that's just about a pairing. There has to be something else going on than the "oh/oh" otherwise I get bored.

Tasertricks 8/10. will usually read the pairing. sometimes deeply annoyed by the way people write loki in the fics.

Kotetsu and change

I just think a lot about how so much of Kotetsu’s struggles throughout the series comes so much from his rapidly changing situation (and how glad I am that season 2 gives him a chance to breathe, so far at least, but also makes me nervous for the 2nd cour since things are going a little too smoothly and they seem to be setting up a lot of stuff) 

- Before season 1, he’s lost Tomoe, and even though it’s been 5 years, obviously Kotetsu hasn’t been able to adjust well, if at all. Who can blame him? He lost his most stout supporter, one of the few people who knew him as Kotetsu AND as Wild Tiger, the person who supported him most. 

It’s wild (ha) to me that Kotetsu was at the top of the hero rankings at some point too when Tomoe was around, and fell to the bottom. Never truly confirmed that he was ever KOH or just like ranked very highly (like 2nd) but still, he obviously did very well. Of course, at the heart of it, rank doesn’t matter to Kotetsu, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt. Episode 8 shows a former KOH who retired and ended up a commentator. You have to wonder if Kotetsu worked with him in his day and watched him retire. How many other heroes has he watched go? 

- Season 1, first half, he has to move to a new company, has 0 support there, and has a new partner who kinda seems to hate him. He has to learn how to work in a new suit that for some reason, they decided to have him essentially test run in a crime scene (might have been circumstantial - when he gets called he has to meet it, but still feels like a bad idea to have what seems like Kotetsu’s first time using the suit for work then). This point is emphasized with the whole wire malfunction.

One of my favorite scenes/episodes in the series is when Kotetsu escapes all the other heroes without his suit. It makes you wonder if the suit could almost be a hinderance at times (I’m not blaming your suit Saito, it’s just that Kotetsu’s not used to it!) I mean the suit is obviously super helpful, but I wonder if in some situation by situation basis, that Kotetsu without the suit actually sometimes works better. 

- Season 1, second half, when things are finally! looking! up! HE STARTS LOSING HIS GODDAMN POWERS. Bring on the mental and emotional fucking turmoil! This season’s pretty self explanatory honestly.

Last episode shows his comeback but he’s obviously struggling now even more than before due to the loss. Like during the second half he’s decreasing but now he’s down to 20% of the time he originally had. 

- Rising, oh dear God, Rising. Rip out my heart. The fact that Barnaby is lecturing Kotetsu on timing shows pretty clearly that Kotetsu’s still having a hard time adjusting to the new time and his self-deprecation is shown pretty damn clearly. He had a cool chase scene and nice little bout with Lunatic, but sadly neither of these can really count as wins in my opinion. It’s not until he partners with Barnaby that things really swing in his favor again, which might have been the whole point but I do remember feeling a bit disappointed Kotetsu never really got a chance to fully shine on his own during the movie. 

- Season 2, first half. Finally, FINALLY, Kotetsu gets a seasonal win. His partnership with Barnaby is PRISTINE. Kotetsu gets so many good moments, starting immediately with the first episode! His Lara save in episode 6 was super cool! He had such good momentum in his fight with Fugan, even pulling off a save for Mr Black simultaneously! Even the bout at the end of ep 12 with Fugan was so good (even though Kotetsu get’s pretty fucked up here). And it seems like it was Kotetsu’s idea to attack Fugan with his own attack! OLD MAN <3

I just,,, am so emotional about Kotetsu getting the win he deserves after such a long beatdown 😭 we see so many glimpses of how competent Kotetsu can be and I’m so happy to see it come together more

(But still very worried about second half of S2...)

Could you do a modern reader from our world ending up in the Avatar world with team avatar/Zuko and Iroh?

Reader lucked out. Truly, utterly, thoroughly lucked out with this group. Most people would have either started outright worshiping or hunting down a being that appeared out of sheer light, but when one of the group's members is literally an 111 year old element bending child they found in an ice bubble next to his flying bison, a person from another world seems almost tame.

Aang is going to be the first person to really connect to reader and not because of his disposition. Both of them are in a world neither is familiar with. There are slivers of what Aang used to know, but otherwise this world is as odd to him as it is to reader. In that, they both get to discover this world together, and find in each other a fellow exile.

While she can't relate to reader's situation, Katara is concerned about their situation. Being taken to a whole different world, without anyone they know, anyone to turn to - that's awful! She is protective of them.

Sokka wants to know everything about their world. The man's a nerd and half the stuff they're wearing alone is insane - not in terms of style , but in color. How do they have purple clothing that is cheap? He has questions and the inventor shall not rest!

Everything about reader screams woefully unprepared for this world and Toph knows this. They're awkward, they don't know the customs - they aren't going to last a day at this rate. Well, well lucky reader, guess you're going to have to get trained by the best. Prepare to learn how to put people in their place with 0 hesitation.

Zuko and Iroh

That poor poor reader. Their treatment from Zuko is going to entirely depend on where they land on his character arc's timeline. Early on he's suspicious, keeping them under close gard thinking they may be a tool to use against Aang. If it's later on, he is going to be wary but not particularly mean. Wary, but open to potentially trust them. Regardless of where they land, the more time they spend together the more Zuko starts to care.

Congratulations, you've unlocked protective Zuko.

Iroh is going to be the best damn support reader has ever gotten. Out of everyone, he is going to be the most sympathetic and caring to their mental and emotional well-being given their situation. It does take a while before he considers them family like he does Zuko due to his own familial trauma, but reader is someone he grows to care about greatly.
