I've just had a fun concept idea
Episode of The Big Bang theory where Sheldon is introduced to an elderly couple, and their house has a bunch of Star Trek merch, decor and paraphenalia. He believes its the husband's collection and tries many time, with laughing track galore, to strike conversation with him about it. Only, it isn't the husband's collection, he's big into woodworking or smth, and then the elderly lady reveals herself as the fan and a fandom founder.
Way back in the 70s, she was a fanzine editor and convention organizer type.
She introduces him to fanzines and shows pictures of convention she and her friends organized, along with fandom history, like the letters sent to Paramount to get S3 done. He is sceptical of Fanfiction, having for so long loved canon, but suggesting that people can fix inconsistency and add even more stories through it, he finds he likes it. Namely, she argues with "Well, why would a teenage Spock undergo Pon Farr on Genesis..." and he completes with "WHEN HIS FIRST WAS AT 34 IN AMOK TIME- omg you're right and we can fix that!"
Seeing these fics in the fanzine, he asks her how it began.
"And you started writing this because you desired Spock?! Physically?!" And the lady goes "Well a lot of us really did see the appeal... tall, not a red blooded male, with a mind and such kindness. I still do as a matter of fact!"
Sheldon faints, exclaiming about how Spock wouldn't do that, and she has to fan him with a fanzine. *insert laughing track here*
When he comes to, they talk further, and she asks: "So, if you agree that Spock would not do that with women, do you accept the Premise?" And Sheldon is puzzled, but the sense of secrecy is instantly appealing to him.
She brings out another zine, and introduces him to K/S.
At first he needs convincing but with a t'hy'la thrown in (he gets to go "OMG a reference to the novelisation of Star Trek the Motion Picture by Gene Roddenberry) and logical arguments, citing examples of women Spock refused to engage in relations with in favour of his captain (Leila, Zarabeth, T'Pring), before bringing in the spirk logic about mutual devotion and you got him won over.
Maybe she asks him if he woulf destroy the Enterprise for one of his friends and Sheldon goes "Absolutly not! How could I do that to such a ship! That's far too great a sacrifice- Omg captain Kirk IS in love with Spock!"
They talk about fanfiction more, and she speaks about all the types and genres, the more romantic, the more mature and explicit, and about how you can find or create whatever suits your tastes, and finishes with:
"We lived vicariously through Captain Kirk and Spock, or sometimes just really enjoyed reading about how they got together, or lore of their lives and adventures. They are a beautiful pair and really opened the door for creating about their worlds" We get a little *awww* from the crowd track.
Later we see him on Livejournal or smth looking for Generations fix-it and Sheldon is officially hyperfixating on Spirk.

let’s talk about… POOOOOWERPLEX
(spoilers for invincible s3ep6 below, discussion of guilt/grief and death, all invincible-standard topics)

this motherfucker is a point of contention for the whole invincible fandom. do we love him, do we hate him? is he righteous or is he a hypocrite? at what point does the victim become the perpetrator, and is said point when he charbroils his loving wife and child while trying to kill his mortal enemy? is it even all his fault, or is his wife an instigating jane clone from breaking bad who egged him on? and most importantly… how the fuck did the GDA not clock that their new lab worker had loved ones lost in the chicago disaster? give him a psych eval or two, cecil!
also, if he’s so powerplex, how come i can understand him?
okay, all jokes aside, i think powerplex, or scott duvall, if you’re a friend, is a fascinating character. at the beginning of the episode, his formal debut for the show, he’s hanging out with his sister and her niece, gretchen and jessica respectively (another breaking bad nod). we see that his powers are based on transforming impact into electricity, but only in really small bursts. this brings up a fun idea in the invincible world, of natural-born supers who aren’t strong enough to make it big. does the GDA have a file on these guys, or do they spawn in at unpredictable rates within the human gene pool?
it’s super clear that jesse — sorry, scott — loves his family, and it becomes even more clear when they fucking die right in front of him. his entire revenge arc is based on pure misinterpretation and a salt shake of idiocy, because he assumed that invincible holding the severed arm of his (adopted?) sister meant he had torn it from her shoulder socket. easy to misconstrue in the haze of destruction, but really, you can’t tell me that working at the GDA for 1-2 years wouldn’t make you privy to how the fight really went down. short of invincible’s secret identity, of course. fallacy in the writing, and it really would’ve been better if his wife, becky, worked at the GDA instead and got the supplies for him.
also, his wife was 100% egging him on. couldn’t tell you why, maybe she has a power (com)plex herself. she seemed to have her fair share of hate for invincible and the hero system in general. one of the themes of the episode is indeed power, and how it translates into whether or not you deserve to live. the viltrumites are founded on this ideology, mark’s ability to survive is based on his power, but… what if you’re just a normal guy like scott duvall?
“why do you get to live when so many others died? what makes YOU so special?”
this puts me in the mind of deadpool and wolverine’s honda odyssey scene — not the sex allegory — but the part where wolverine is chewing out deadpool and about halfway through his spittle-flush monologue, you can tell he’s talking more about himself than the man he’s castigating. part of scott’s issue is MAJOR survival’s guilt: he only survived because he went to get a coffee. the people he loved, who took care of him all his life, the kid who adored him and whom he really seemed to treat like his own daughter, died and he lived.
half of the issue isn’t even invincible. it’s powerplex himself. this guy probably wishes he died with them. chances are his rage was redirected towards invincible when its initial source was genuine grief and potentially self-hatred. he threw the entire rest of his life into killing invincible, to the point where he arguably faced a mental sunk cost fallacy. i’m sure he did learn that invincible was a victim, but at that point, he’d already poured so much into this that he couldn’t just give up there and then. also if omni-man, the real perpetrator, was gone, then this was the next best thing. his power emulates his own mentality — a very popular thing in this show. his power translates physical impacts — pain — into power, and his story is about how violently and wholly that pain explodes out. even after he burns his wife and child to a crisp, which is arguably the point where he should’ve been like “fuck, stop fighting, it’s so over and this time it’s my fault,” he drives that shock (pun here) outward towards mark again.
aside: why is mark getting packed the fuck up by powerplex? you could ascribe it to his own guilt and perhaps a desire to pay a physical reparation for what he did to scott’s family, and all the other’s families. or you could chalk it up to plot relevancy, where it literally has to happen in order for becky and little baby boy whose name i forgot to die.
and when mark is speaking to scott in prison, he totally fumbles the “let me comfort you, bro” ball. but it is not [title card]’s fault! powerplex’s complex stops him from taking blame for his own actions regarding his wife and son, so he’s only going to be more furious with mark. he pins blame on an external source, and i’m sure this was a learned habit, probably from his wife (i do hate blaming the woman but she did really show some markers of an instigator here. wish that wasn’t the case but it is). i like that the invincible show/comics address the sheer destruction that follows these powerful, high-octane fights, because the s1 finale really was just omni-man showing mark how insignificant we humans are.
“he can’t keep getting away with this!!”
tldr: no, you’re gonna go back and read that.

1. Not a specific character, but it does feel very passive agressive. Yes, it does seem like fandom policing. It's all in the intent. Like, what's the point of it? "Oh look. You like a white character amongst your shows? Shame on you." That's stupid.
2. a) I don't know, but I doubt it's something like 'oooh! The only white character in the show! I'm gonna kin them instead of the mc'.
b) It certainly criticizes it. Or do you have a different purpose for this comic? You certainly made it seem like it's a bad thing to pay the white characters more attention than the poc ones.
c) Yes. Yes, actually. I've been and seen fandoms in which a character was there for very short period of time and got a lot of attention. Hell, the whole thing in MLP is that background characters get backstories because the fans love them.
3. Actually, no. Most of my favorite characters are black/asian/blasian coded ninja turtles. I like the characters based on how skrunkly and hurt shaped they are.
4. Yes. I do think there's a reason. White people already have many spaces for them, so it's frustrating when they're more beloved than a poc character. Even so, it doesn't make it wrong or bad or harmful for people to like them. What I personally do is to promote my favorites and make content for them.
5. Well. I saw something stupid that a lot of people talk about and decided to give my own 2 cents, since you know. It's the internet. And sometimes it's important to see other perspectives.
For the last question: Actually, no! I was raised in South Africa and am a Brazilian, now living in Brazil with my black boyfriend and family members. Speaking of which, before I posted, I asked for his input, because of the amount of people saying I don't have a say in this because I'm most likely white. I didn’t want to be disrespectful. Well, let's just say, he beta read this response and endorsed it. So. I think I'm in the clear.
Also, I tend to use sarcasm and paused structure sentencing to make my posts humorous. I don't have anything against you personally, I just wanted to participate in the debate. It is a funny comic and it's something that does happen. It's a bit annoying, but I just don't think it's harmful or too deep.

Dear Stray Kids: Bang Chan
As part of the cheer up week for our lost children, I want to write to each, starting with our glorious leader.
𝒟ℯ𝓇 ℬ𝒶𝓃ℊ 𝒞𝒽𝒶𝓃,
Young man, do you know that you don't need to be so humble? I wish you could see yourself the way that Stay does because it hurts that you don't believe you deserve all the love, awards, and commendations you have! For a long time, I have wanted to tell you that you need to let yourself shine! We all know you went through hell during training, that you may have considered ending your life, and that the Stray Kids members saved you. Watching you go through the loss of a member was painful even though I was not there to see it first hand and I hate that you apologised for something out of your control. JYPE is wrong to do that to you and we know that you must have been traumatised by it. We love that you would see us weekly like our therapist and obviously we miss you being part of our weekly routine but honestly, more STAYs get why it was necessary than it may seem. Some of your comments about yourself really broke us, because it was clear you truly don't see the absolute pureness that lives inside you. Before I never believed in Star Children, those sent by the universe to bring light and peace to as many lost souls as they can but now I absolutely do because you are one. Please make time to nurture your own mental well-being because even the strongest break eventually and, I can't lie, after Moonbin died and you said you couldn't eat or sleep I thought we would lose you to the Hell that South Korea can be too.
For some reason, you don't let yourself bask in the fact that you did it—you survived it, you became everything you dreamed of and more. You were tenacious and full of sheer will to make it, so please don't let your love for the other members stop you from letting your light shine. Give yourself more lines and more centre time because you earned it, and Stay wants to see your bright soul and smile more than your abs. Not that we are complaining, but I think most Stay would agree. Hearing your voice and seeing you dance is far more valuable. We want to see you relax and let loose as the idol you should be rather than hiding your light under a bushel.
'Genius' is an adjective I will forever link to you, because it was your raw emotional intelligence that saw how the members would fit together so perfectly. Not only that but your ability to find beats out of nowhere just shows that music is your purpose for being here. I love watching the recording behind-the-scenes videos just to see how, even when exhausted, you glow and laugh, proving your soul was crafted for music. Somehow you take the most everyday noises and mould them like clay to satisfy the ears and if anyone says you guys are 'just' noise music then they haven't even bothered to listen to your songs.
For many of us, Stray Kids make those hard days easier and help us handle the times we want to disappear. Thank you for being a leader who is steadfast and immovable, bringing so much joy to people all over the world. Just by being the respectful, kind, honest, and down-to-earth man you are, you show your younger fans what a real man is, who deserves their love and who does not. Some people say you are the reason for demanding such high standards in their relationships, and for me, as someone old enough to be your mother, I am relieved knowing that someone is teaching today's teens what is right and what to demand from someone.
Stay love you so much, and as a fandom, we want you to get some sleep! Please take a break and some time to absorb the past 7 years and rest. Honestly, if we received a statement that you were taking a couple of months off or maybe even a full hiatus, we would probably rejoice because your health is so important to us! It’s true that you are nearing 30, and if you don’t take the time to decompress while pushing yourself so hard, it will affect your long-term health! Rather than another album, we want to see you chilling for a bit, shaking off all the stress of the nonstop comebacks and touring. We’d prefer longevity over more music; you’ve been pushing for 14 years. Letting go a little isn’t illegal, and we all want a healthy, happy, fulfilled Christopher Bang over Bang Chan the idol.
Love yourself as much as we do, and we will never have to worry about the mistakes and the fear that you will burn out. You are human, so being self-critical is normal; however, it's obvious that the pressure of your trainee years has made you terrified to stop working. You never, ever, ever, EVER have to worry about whether you are doing enough, working hard enough, or putting on the best performance because your humanity is what we love most. Even bleary-eyed and with your hair sticking up everywhere, you are perfect in our eyes. So, take a break, for fuck's sake, we aren't going anywhere at all! And when you make it back refreshed, hop on a live so we can see your face and chat a bit. No matter what the future brings for you, keep that child-like love for the world that you have and we will smile indulgently at you all the while. It is obvious that that is the genuine you, not the forced persona of so many idols. That you are universally loved by kpop stans, not just STAY, speaks volumes about your authenticity and humble nature which is something I have only ever seen for you.
On that note, I shall go now. I pray you finally accept just what an unstoppable force you are, that the kids accept your hugs and there is never another pineapple in your burger!
With love from
𝒜 𝒮𝓉𝒶𝓎

Happy Birthday, OFMD!!!
3 years already, and from the looks of it, still a LOT more to come!!! (Even tho we're still cancelled - but hey, fandom's keeping it alive and well and fucking THRIVING. And not only fandom - cast and crew are doing their very best to do the same!)
Anyhow. March 3rd 2022. I wasn't around for that sadly; but my dash started to talk about it (while my Twitter didn't so much as breathe its name) and then the gifs started to come in. I just came off the Tick Tick Boom high, still pissed that they snubbed them at the Oscars, so I still wasn't that interested but the more I saw, the more I realized that it seemed to be a show that did NOT queerbait anyone but actually WAS queer!
Well, that would've been a first, I thought - and still ignored it. I'm pretty sure TheKiss made me change my mind. Seeing two older men kiss as awkwardly and timidly and as beautiful as these two was a shock, to be honest. I mean, WHO DOES THAT!!!! The only other show who sort of did it was Schitt's Creek, which I missed terribly at that point so I went to YT to spoil myself and watch TheKiss happening!!!
And OHMYDAYS was it beautiful!!! ... still didn't watch it then tho but kept an eye on it.
And on March 31st the links for it floated over my dash again with people urging whoever saw it to WATCH IT. Which I did. While doing something else!!! These days I cannot comprehend HOW I did that. I STOPPED AFTER THE FOOT TOUCH AND WENT TO BED!!! O_O But I still fell in love.
I was still scared because something as openly queer and wonderful couldn't be real - and even though I had seen TheKiss with my own eyes, I still feared it was just a dream sequence or something like that. Even with all the flirting beforehand I just couldn't believe a show wold actually just DO THAT - be queer as fuck and still be sooo fucking unapologetic joyous about it!!!
But they were/are!
And then they left me hanging with that freaking cliffhanger!! I remember screaming about it on Twitter because they couldn't do this to me!! Not when I just found the most amazing show out there!!!
I did a proper rewatch, paying more attention... and did another, screaming some more about; followed everyone I could find from cast and crew, and fell deeper and deeper in love with everyone and the show!!!
And the rest, as they say, is history.
Here we are, three years later: met several fandom folks in RL, seen Taika and Rhys in the flesh (Taika from afar, Rhys up close), met some cast at SFRoP, going to meet some more at TNUC, learned so much about things I had barely a clue about, made some amazing friends through it all, doing crazy things again because of them, living the very best life because of a show about queer pirates. Made some damn great memories because of it. Teared up more than once about how INCREDIBLE this fandom is, and all the amazing things it does (making 85K in less than two weeks for Trans kids for example).
Here's to all the years still to come, to all the wonderful memories still to be made, following our incredible cast and crew to new shores (ha), making sure they know how fucking LOVED they are!!!
Forever grateful that Tumblr made sure I fell in love with our beloved pirates babies, with no chance in hell of backing out again! They're a fucking light in growing darkness but they're still there, still shining, still making sure there's always and forever hope that things will get better!!!

"I don't like Mel she's a bad person she totally manipulated Jayce in season one" uhm yeah and?? God forbid a woman has ambitions. God forbid a woman is dedicated to her cause
#on a serious note wow you guys are not even trying to hide your bias towards male characters it's crazy#a man will start a drug empire and ruin the lives of thousands and you'll love him because he was a good father or whatever#but Mel manipulates ONE GUY and now she's irredeemable. and don't get me started on the shit I've heard you people say about Caitlyn#whatever. whatever. I need to not engage in fandom. engaging in fandom is the enjoyment of piece of media killer.#arcaneposting#also absolutely fascinated by how so many people think liking a character means you think they are a good person#I know people think this but it still baffles me again and again#I like Mel because I find her character interesting. She is strong willed and determined yet sensible and pacifist#not because I think she's an angel who did nothing wrong. she is not without fault but also by far not the worst peron in the show#whatever whatever what even ever#SOME OF THESE FUCKERS KILLED PEOPLE AND YOU'RE MAD ABOUT MEL USING JAYCEGET A GRIP

I am quite sure my reading comprehension skills are totally fine and I have better things to show for it than arguing on the internet. I also don’t think I’m misunderstanding anything or taking it out of context. What I think is that you refuse to engage with my arguments, which I don’t really care about, because as I said I just wanna talk about crowferi.
Just because Ferid thinks about how he yearns for desire for women and strength doesn’t mean that it was his strongest desire as a human. Vampire’s yearn for many forms of humanity, for example death (like Ferid getting suicidal or Crowley being glad his life ended). Also Ferid isn’t getting stronger just for the sake of it but to carry out his plan. If he was, he wouldn’t have agreed to work with Guren, who now appears to have some type of authority over him. In the chapters where Ferid’s time as a human was showed it was quite clear that he was mostly interested in finding the reason for living. He was studying philosophy and he killed his parents not to gain more power but so that he could travel the world and learn more.
And your way of “explaining” vampire relationship was basically repeating your point and not engaging with any of my arguments against it. I don’t “absolutely know that it’s right” because when I entered the fandom I have already read Vassalord and knew about IWTV so I perceived Ferid’s and Crowley’s relationship the same way I did to characters in that works, I’ve never thought of them as brothers and I was surprised when I found out there are even people who believe so, as I stated previously, because there have never been claims like that in fandoms of any other vampire media I had been in.
I’ve never said their relationship wasn’t abusive, but it doesn’t change the fact it was meaningful. If you go outside you’ll notice that people aren’t perfect and do bad things to others. A ship doesn’t have to be perfect and sanitized to be good, if you can’t handle it don’t think about it, it’s really that easy. And me shipping crowferi doesn’t invalidates people who have been abused because, setting aside everything else, Ferid and Crowley are in fact not real.
I’m real tho, which may seem absurd to you, and so are most crowferi shippers, that is people who you enjoy telling to kill themselves, over the fact you disagree about something. You seem to be very keen on assuring yourself that you’re a good person, so I’m going to tell you one thing. Dehumanization is the first step towards not being in fact a good person, because if you’re ready to dehumanize a person, even over something you think is completely reasonable, eventually you’ll fine with anybody being dehumanized.
Also just because somebody can see that two characters relationship isn’t sexual doesn’t mean they can’t write smut about them? I’m pretty sure that’s how a lot of fanfiction was created, as a matter of fact. This is what transformative works mean.
The comment about being a non-religious person and saying omfg is so random, like I’m pretty sure it’s religious people who usually shouldn’t say god’s name while swearing. I’m non-religious too but I say it all the time, which I probably wouldn’t if I was religious because in many religions it’s forbidden.
And anyway tysm, I would actually love for love like crowferi to find me!

ELVIS' DEBUT ON TV — 📺 [CBS] The Dorsey Brothers 'Stage Show'
Elvis with Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey at CBS Studio 50, New York, March 17, 1956 [that would be Elvis' 5th appearance on their TV show, out of 6 total.].
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By December 1955 Elvis had still not made an appearance on national television. His manager Colonel Tom Parker negotiated a deal through Steve Yates with CBS's "Stage Show" for four appearances on the show in January 1956 at $1,250 each and an option for two more at $1,500 each.
On the January 28, 1956, Elvis was broadcast for the nation for the very first time, performing "Shake, Rattle and Roll", "Flip, Flop and Fly" and "I Got a Woman".
youtube
[ABOVE: the January 28th 1956 FULL PERFORMANCE]
On Elvis' first appearance on American television, Bill Randle, one of the most influential disc jockeys of the time, was the man who actually presented Elvis Presley to the nation. He said:
"We'd like at this time to introduce to you a young fellow, who like many performers, Johnnie Ray among them, come up out of nowhere to be overnight very big stars. This young fellow we met for the first time while making a movie short*. We think tonight that he's going to make television history for you. We'd like you to meet him now - Elvis Presley. And here he is!" — Bill Randle, Disc Jockey, the man presenting Elvis Presley to America for the first time. January 28, 1956.
After this, things would never be the same, specially the society. Such a good beginning for a year, that special day in a January month! ♥
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
🎞️THE SHORT-FILM THAT NEVER SAW THE LIGHT OF DAY (for the general public... at least until now...)
The movie short Bill Randle referred to during his introduction to Elvis was "The Pied Piper Of Cleveland - A Day In The Life Of A Famous Disc Jockey" a short film made by Universal pictures about Bill Randle himself. Filmed on October 20th, 1955, at a concert in Brooklyn High School, Cleveland, it featured the stars Bill Haley & The Comets, The Four Lads, Pat Boone, plus the addition of a little-known Elvis Presley.
The original forty-eight-minute film was supposed to be cut down to a twenty-minute "short" for national distribution, but never made it that far. We're in 2024... 69 years went by since this shortcut was produced but the movie remains unreleased.
There is some dispute over whether or not this film actually exists, although it's said it was shown publicly, albeit only once in Cleveland, and excerpts were also aired on a Cleveland television station in 1956. Marshall Lytle, bass player for Bill Haley's Comets, corroborates the existence of the film in his memoir, "Still Rockin' Around the Clock", but he makes the unsubstantiated claim that Colonel Tom Parker, Presley's manager, bought the film and destroyed the existing copies. According to historians, tho, DJ Bill Randle, before his death in 2004, sold the rights to the film to PolyGram (it has been reported that Universal Studios has the negatives of the film in its vaults).
Much uncertainty about this short film, but can you imagine this film being release in Elvis' birthday centenary celebration? We watched, and listened, on Elvis' 89th birthday a few days earlier this year, to them playing during his birthday celebration at Graceland the original "That's All Right" record as it was cut at Sun Records studio in 1954, so who knows? There's always rare things surfacing here and there, so... we better keep our hopes this Bill Randle's 1955 movie, with some new 'baby Elvis' footage, will be release any day now [such as we know there's 'Elvis On Tour' and 'Elvis: That's the Way It Is' never seen before footage coming our way, as confirmed by the "Elvis" 2022 biopic's film director, Baz Luhrmann — finally! We hope it will be released soon].
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
But enough daydreaming... Back to Elvis' 1st television appearances.
After the premiere on America's television on January 28th, 1956, Elvis would do five more appearances on 'The Dorsey Brothers Stage Show" for the next eight weeks. Those would take place on February 4, February 11, February 18, March 17 and March 24th, 1956.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
February 4th, 1956 | "Baby Let's Play House" and "Tutti Frutti"
youtube
youtube
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
February 11th, 1956 | "Blue Suede Shoes" and "Heartbreak Hotel" *
youtube
youtube
* This is a special arrangement for 'Heartbreak Hotel', so good! Jazzy, dramatic, really rarity. I loved this! ♥
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
February 18th, 1956 | "Tutti Frutti" and "I Was The One"
youtube
youtube
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
March 17th, 1956 | "Blue Suede Shoes" and "Heartbreak Hotel" *
youtube
youtube
* This is the usual arrangement for the "Heartbreak Hotel" song. On February 11th, 1956, Elvis performed this same song onstage of 'The Dorsey Brothers Show' but it sounded something more… dramatic (I guess it matched the lyrics after all, but I love the usual arrangement better yet).
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And the last one... the 6th appearance on 'Dorsey Brothers Stage Show':
March 24th, 1956 | "Money Honey" and "Heartbreak Hotel" | [FULL PERFORMANCE]
youtube
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We can see how on those first TV shows Elvis still looks quite shy. Although he moves the usual lot, he doesn't flirt with his audience as much as he would on the upcoming TV appearances (and throughout his life, actually). It's funny how he grew comfortable with being in front of the cameras so fast tho. As his photographer Wiliam Speer said, "I guess you must really like being photographed."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Elvis with Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey at CBS Studio 50 in New York, on March 17, 1956. That would be Elvis' 5th appearance on their TV show. 'The Dorsey Brothers Stage Show' (CBS) was the place Elvis debut in his TV appearances, on January 28th 1956. He would appear on the show for 6 times total, from January to March 1956. ♥

Performing on the 'Dorsey Brothers Stage Show' at the CBS Studio 50, New York City, on March 24th, 1956. His 6th and final appearance on the show.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT: THE BLUE MOON BOYS

I hate it when I forget to mention such important, trivial, facts — and this shouldn't be footnote info and I feel guilty it is now but I forgot mentioning — The Blue Moon Boys. I love them so much! I watch those footage looking at them as much as I look at Elvis.
Like, I love Bill Black's energy onstage! I love him hollering, vibing to their sound, as loud as Elvis (on occasion). I love how he seem to love chewing gum (Bill is chewing gum in some of those footage), because it makes me look at the Blue Moon Boys and Elvis as a unit, real close friend who look alike, just how it should be. We know although EP for obvious reasons can't chew gum while singing, he loooooved gum and kept this - should I say "habit?" - throughout his life. It's sounding silly what I'm saying, I know, but I think this Elvis habit in fact date from back when he was rocking onstage with Bill, Scotty and DJ Fontana and it makes my heart warm how close and similar they seem to be, as friends, real friends. Bill is actually said to be the one cheering the crowds onstage when they first begun performing, when Elvis was still learning how to be the great leading man he became. When EP was still learning how to act onstage, how to manipulate the audience, creating the mad passionate reactions he learned to create whenever he wanted, Bill was the one heating things up, joking with the audience, cheering, hollering. Bill is amazing! His energy is intoxicating, and we can see it clearly on those first TV appearances performances. ♥

I also love how hot Scotty Moore looks! I kinda laughed thinking 'Oh my goodness' ... So this thing about rock and roll bands always having hot vocalists and hot guitar players as a rule, it looks like it all started from the 50s with EP and Scotty! (really, at least the singer and guitar player in most rock bands are hot AF, am I lying? *lol*). I have a thing for Scotty... When he smiles at times on those footage, I'm like: 🤤🥹🥴🫠 And I also love how he's elegant but at the same time menacing looking holding and playing his guitar like the guitar hero he was. Really, if you haven't yet, do yourself a favor and read Scotty's book "THAT'S ALL RIGHT, ELVIS: The Untold Story of Elvis' First Guitarist and Manager, Scotty Moore", by Scotty as told to James Dickerson (1997). Scotty's life story is fascinating and as interesting as Elvis'. ♥
--
And last, but never least, I love how together, calm and concentrated DJ Fontana looks. Ok, unfortunately being the drummer has it's disadvantages. We can't see DJ Fontana as much as we see the other boys onstage, but I listen to the songs until the very last minute and it's amazing how the music always has the closing, the important and dramatic ending, done by DJ's talented hands. I love that guy. ♥
Elvis Presley and The Blue Moon Boys were the best rock and rollers! I love their energy together. As much as I adore 70s Elvis onstage, the TCB Band, the Sweets Inspirations and all, if I only had one performance of Elvis' I could attend, just one to choose, I would go for - undoubtedly - the 50s ones, when those guys, The Blue Moon Boys and Elvis, were playing together.
That's Rock and Roll royalty. ✨👑 ♥
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There you go. All the videos together so you can watch of them easily. ♥

Agatha All Along is so so SO much fun!
And so far I have yet to see any of the usual fandom negativity that has been pretty unavoidable the past few years..
Whether that’s because those usual negative people are actually allowing themselves to enjoy life for once (doubtful, but one can hope)
or the more likely option..
That I have become incredibly skilled at keeping that vibe away from all my feeds..
Whichever…if I’m being delusional or not, it doesn’t matter to me..
I’m just happy to sit in my little bubble of positivity..
and enjoy this series..
and continue to love my favourite franchise
no matter how many people love to complain about fun :)
#I hope people are actually liking Agatha#but I refuse to look to see if they don’t#hopefully people are having as much fun as I am watching this show#especially the wlws#this show is for us#but yeah..#i have been doing such a good job at living under a rock lately#its amazing#people ask me..oh did you hear about this or that drama#and im like I don’t even know who that is#I definitely wasn’t aware they had drama#and this applies to media too#like I was only mildly aware of the hate The Acolyte was getting#I was only focusing on the fact that I loved it#and I only spoke about it with other people who liked it#so yeah I was genuinely shocked when it was canceled because all I was seeing was positivity 🤷🏻♀️#marvel#mcu#agatha all along#agatha harkness#star wars#marvel fandom#kate's post

I like how whenever I watch AstralSpiff or Backseat play a new Poppy Chapter it’s pretty clear what game that they devs had been playing before hand lmao,, Chapter 4 being very clearly referencing to the Resident Evil 4 underground factory insect fights with how it was framed
#disco speaks!#honestly the most interesting chapter is still chapter 3 to me because there’s a consistent antagonist and it expounds on that story with#every step as well as actually showing the playcare and hour of joy#i don’t like the franchise because of what happened with the devs and the merch and NFTs and just general stuff with MOB#but like yeah. the more it digs down it just gets more vague and expansive to the point where it’s like where do the characters draw theline#like Doey hates the doctor but works with him but also hates Poppy more for also being abused but doesn’t hate Kissy or Mommy??#the prototype is probably not going to the live up to the hype because it’s been dragged out for too long#why the fuck is the player here? four chapters and over like I’ll give them like 15 hrs of playtime#(if even that) and there’s like been several antagonists with like catnap and the doctor being the most interesting and tied into the#big bad evil. also like I feel bad for the kids obviously but then the hour of joy where it’s like poppy are sad that ‘innocent’ people were#killed but also like is LIKE WHO DO WE EVEN CARE ABOUT??#the player who is just a witness to the thing and barely has a stake in this#why is kissy nice like sometimes having the audience questioning the story and lore to be interested#but it’s like security breach a moment of thought and it’s just like this game is built on really nothing but wanting to make a game#and I love security breach but that’s not how you write a story#there’s good parts of poppy playtime and security breach but they don’t make up for the lack of planning for either#like at least security breach came all at once and there’s been other games to set the precedent and premise#but to quote the stupid meme poppy playtime insists upon itself#and by the way im not talking shit about the fandom or anything like that cause like#I’d be a hypocrite and im still following the story and will watch the next chapter when it comes out. it still deserves critism#and there’s also suspension of disbelief to go with it and I do enjoy it sometimes#and there’s also respect for the artists and story writers and the coders who care about their work and craft#the sound designers and the voice actors and everyone in between#ughhh I don’t know

Good evening if you are spoiling the Percy Jackson series for people who haven’t read the books on purpose you’re an asshole
#saw someone arguing that because the books have been out for a while people can’t be surprised when they get spoiled#hey dude. people should be able to consume content of a book adaptation show without having the main plot twist spoiled for them#this is specifically about the very end of book one don’t be a dick and spoil the fun of that for everyone#I truly think that if people on tiktok are going to at all spoil the upcoming episodes they should put a visual or preferably auditory#warning about it but that’s a whole other can of worms for now just don’t be a dick on purpose#this is something I love ab tumblr vs tiktok if you don’t wanna see spoilers on tumblr you can filter the fandom or the fandom spoilers tag#meanwhile on tiktok you have to rely purely on people putting spoiler warnings for things which happens about .1% of the time#tiktok really should have a filtering system with their tags but again that’s a whole other thing#percy jackson#pjo#autism (mads) speaks#madurday night live#it’s kinda both this is a psa for honestly all book adaptations#actually it’s a psa in general tag your fucking spoilers people#pjo disney+#pjotv#pjo tv show

I find it genuinely funny how trophy is very shippable (and is in fact shipped with many characters in the fandom)
but at the same time seems like a loser who will never get bitches at all cause nobody likes him
correct. he's very shippable and unshippable at the same time. why you may ask? because hes a loser
#john try not to call trophy a loser challenge! impossible!#its very ironic he only got like ten minutes of screentime and the fandom has given him so many crackships#its aleo funny because in the show it looks like no one really gaf about him HAHAHA#fandom living in delusions#i love when people make their way around to try and work out trophy ships though#the way they do it makes me very intrigued. i love hearing about the trophy shipe everyone has#0 ask

If that is what you got from me making a post where I joke about how actual society off of the Internet isn’t going to crucify me or harass me for enjoying something perceived weird, and thinking differently than the average person, all while staying in my own lane (and this isn’t even talking about me expressing that a lot of this is - probably - because of autism meaning my brain is LITERALLY WIRED DIFFERENTLY BUT THATS OKAY) I genuinely question your compassion for people who are different than you.
Like.
I honestly do worry how you handle meeting someone who’s just a bit different than you. You must be someone who immediately bullies someone you think is weird, even if they have done nothing to you except have fun.
#news flash! it’s okay to be weird!#it’s okay to enjoy weird shit!#and it doesn’t make you a ‘psycho’ or whatever!!#as someone raised with the family mantra of ‘let your freak flag fly’ I’ve always known it was okay to be the weird person#being weird makes you unique!!!#idk if anon can comprehend this but I actually have multiple friends who aren’t in fandom who LOVE hearing me update them about fandom#my sibling asks me constantly if there is new fandom drama#whenever I meet up with another friend one of the first things she asks me is what’s going on with Harry#I literally ranted to my husband’s best friend yesterday about fandom#and I have given (a requested) speech at a dnd game once to explain larrie#and even if none of those people believe it#or think it’s a little odd#they still enjoy my company#they still find me perfectly sane#because! being weird! isn’t a crime!#everyone would love much happier lives if we embraced our inner freak side#insert ‘don’t dream it be it’ from rocky horror picture show here#(okay actually people irl DO bully others for being weird and collectively as society we know THOSE are the bad people)#(but these anons don’t really understand nuance here)

gotta say i've been in quite a few fandoms but i don't think any of them are quite as unabashedly queer as the gomens fandom is. it's very comfy here
#marzi speaks#i mean it's bound to happen when the show's like the queerest love story of the fucking generation#but in a lot of fandoms i see a lot of like. arguing over tiny inconsequential things or a fear of being too weird#but here? none of that.#no fighting over what labels anyone would use because they aren't human! they don't need human labels!#nobody is weird about aziraphale being fat. he is drawn fat he is written fat and he is lusted after by a solid chunk of the fandom for it#people fuck around with pronouns for the characters all the time bc they can. that makes me happy#the fanfic is all so so queer. down to the kinks#no bullshit top/bottom discourse either. everyone just seems to live and let live#idk it's just very. refreshing#i've spent a lot of time in fandoms where arguing and queerbait (cough cough ACE ATTORNEY coughcoughcough) occur#and while i can handle that and have even learned to find it funny#it's. very nice. to see a space that focuses less on exactly how these two fictional characters are queer and are they Gay or Bisexual#or Do Not Sully My Cinnamon Roll Character With Your Smut They Would Never (note: they would)#but instead just. focusing on being queer#it makes me very very very happy

"Truly GOOD works don't have thriving fandoms because people aren't interested in fixing them, so what do they have to write fics/make art about."
Idk about you, but I don't write fic for properties I don't genuinely enjoy and think are, on some level, actually good.
#like I'm here to EXPAND on shit I like is that not a common experience?#if I think a work is bad why would I care enough to create something in response to it?#you think I did all those episode reviews and wrote all that shit about cxgf because I thought it was BAD?????#I have ten (10) wips and ONE of them is a 'rewriting canon to be in line with what I wish happened' fic?#idk if I'd even call it a FIX fic. it's more of a 'slightly less personally depressing resolution' fic#I'm sorry. truly I don't understand this viewpoint#'if a story is well-constructed enough there won't BE any extra dimensions to explore' WRONG. I'LL /ALWAYS/ FIND THINGS. U UNDERESTIMATE ME#I WILL /CREATE/ BLANKS TO FILL IN /BECAUSE/ I LOVE THIS THING SO MUCH#like yes everyone is probably going to have at least one piece of media that they don't think is High Art™ that they get unhinged over#(ctrlz squad sound off)#but I just...I'm sorry I cannot imagine spending all of my time going 'I will create things in honor of something that I believe is Bad™'#or 'this thing made me angry I'll exclusively spend my time fixing it' instead of just. watching/reading something else that I DO enjoy#also like...things that ARE widely-agreed to be genuinely good still have big fandoms sometimes?#tgp is pretty popular on here. csm is MASSIVE. both on and off tumblr.#and some things WOULD be otherwise easily fandomize-able: cxgf is one. dpat is another. but these don't HAVE huge fandoms because the shows#are not popular. like just. we live in a world where people are somehow both elitist and anti-intellectual at the same time#ANYWAY this is in response to that one post I saw about--*I am dragged offstage for my own safety*#In the Vents
