Right, so originally I wasn't gonna abroach that topic with a 13½ ft pole, because sensitive subject, but gonna have to roll up my sleeves and acknowledge it was very much indeed a topic that Greygold had to consider and formulate their own conclusions on. Sure even though Greygold didn't find out the be-hella-mean way, there were concerned friends with mindful observations that had Greygold confronting the possibility that the Emperor and Stelmane's secret underground business practices might've had some uh...Problems!

The conversation went a lil everywhere BUT in short-

Greygold's philosophy is to hope for the best, but always prepare for the worst.

Case in point: Greyg's team. Maybe not everyone did shitty things in their past, but they certainly had ample opportunity to do shitty things on this journey that Greygold had to veer them away from. As Greygold sees it, if their teammates can change for the better, hopefully the Emperor can and will too. Everybody is capable of being awful, but also being awesome kind, so gotta give the squid a chance.

okay when i started rewatching house, it took me until 3x15 but i started to notice a pattern in house's wardrobe. the scene where foreman was trying to express sadness(?) at house's (fake) brain cancer they were both wearing pink.

After that I noticed that any time house was wearing pink, they were particularly vulnerable moments. Moments that he's feeling tender or open. Moments where he is being pretty earnest.

Then I started to notice that other colored shirts came up at different times. Light blue was his most neutral state, it represents logic and reason imo. Maybe a little bit of humor. There's a lightness or surface-ness to it.

Purple represents something like consequences or grief or guilt. any time there is purple someone is bearing the weight of a decision that was made, or a complex situation.

Black represents, as you can imagine, death. the darkest moments we see house in black.

The other colors aren't as prominent, but I have theories. Red is sex, power, life, excitement, ego. tan is neutrality. white is almost naive. green is rare and house never wears it. Dark blue is still logic but more solemn, more deep. its also interesting to note the times when he doesn't wear a t-shirt under his dress shirt and leaves like 3 buttons open (hubba hubba) and when he /only/ wears a t-shirt. I think his dress shirt is almost like his armor.

I need to put my thoughts into words before I explain that this thing is about 😭😭 (which I enormously struggle to do,, GUH)

But basically, after her mom got eaten by Maggot (LOL) she just became a child of the streets, living here and there, running around town carelessly.

Before anyone asks, as she's very young she doesn't really understand the concept of death and stuff, so she just kinda lives with the fact that her mom was eaten alive?? She thinks she would eventually come back for her after she came out of Maggot's (probably hypothetical) stomach??? Idk something like that probably, I don't know what babies think

Normally other scraps (this indeed include the main trio hehehehhe) let her spend the night with them and share a bit of their food with her, and that's basically how she survives. Every scrap in Ramshackle knows her too, they help her a lot so she doesn't fucking die lol

Idk that's a really dumbed down summary of the thingy 😭😭 I can't explain for SHIT 😭😭😭

If this gets enough attention I will write a full thing about it, explaining the au in depth and doing silly little comics (I'll probably do it anyway-)

I definitely picture our Haley in an artistic yet stylish environment, I just know that she would absolutely thrive as a photographer who works for fashion magazines and brands!! Imagine her being so bossy around the set, with the crew AND the commissioners, but everyone put ups with her because her work is that good. She would definitely also keep doing some personal photography as well, that would be more niche and intimate.

By the way my hc is that Haley wears contacts, but I think that with age she would grow more confident in wearing her glasses again!

Finally, as a Haley/Leah lover, I think they would marry and have a very private and tranquil home in Pelican Town (maybe they upgraded Leah's cottage!) where they would work from - Leah creating her art and Haley working on post production after her jobs. Imagine a home in the woods, full of artsy stuff and good lighting like PLEASE adopt me 🥹 On this topic tho I don't see them ever wanting kids! Which is kind of a shame for the sole reason that Haley would look great as a soccer mom and Leah could teach woodwork to her children - but there is only one princess in the family and that happens to be Haley ✨ And they would travel a lot to fuel inspiration!
