COLUMBINE ICEBERG (PT 2)

Suicide photos: If we were to name the most well- known pictures of the tragedy, the picture of them in the cafeteria with the guns would be probably number one. A very close second, however, would be the picture of the dead bodies in the library (which were moved after they searched the bodies for any potential threat). These pictures were taken as crime scene evidence, and were not leaked until three years later, when someone sent them to the National Inquirer, this magazine, of course, made the pictures the centre of that particular issue. Who leaked them remains unknown to this day.

“Hey Dylan”: This refers to a very specific exchange between Dylan and John Savage. This story behind the latter gentleman is like this: John Savage needed to pick a place to study for an upcoming test (if I’m not mistaken it was a geography test) and chose to do so in the library, meaning he would be there in the thick of it, when the tragedy was going down, Eric pointed a gun at the person who was under the table, which happened to be John, he asked him to identify himself, and when John did so, Dylan was called over. John and Dylan had theatre together, so they knew each other a little bit. At this point,John said to him “oh hey Dylan, what are you doing?”. To which Dylan responded “just killing people”. Ultimately, Dylan let John go.

OKC bombing plan: In 1995, Timothy McVey, tired of the government plans and doings, planted a bomb in a car outside of Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building, killing 169 people. This attack remains the deadliest act of domestic terrorism in U.S History. This incident became known as the Oklahoma City Bombing, and a few people draw parallels with both Eric and Dylan. He wanted to join the military, much like Eric; and he was a computer wizz, much like Dylan. Now, the real interest that these two had on the OKC Bombing is unknown, but Eric was said to be somewhat of a fan. Both boys wanted to surpass the number of victims that McVey had. Actually, the original date that the Columbine was planned was April 19th (same day as the OKC bombing) , and it was going to be initially a bombing.

The 11K: The 11K is a loose term for all Jefferson County reports on the case. There’s closer to 27,000 pages, pictures, CCTV footage and everything else you could imagine on the case. Most known information on the Columbine case comes from the 11K. This has everything, ranging from school records, interviews with students and staff, copies of Eric’s webpage(s). It was released in portions between 2000 and 2006. Everything that is not included in here was said to be destroyed in 2011.

Brooks Brown: Brooks is one of the most famous people who survived the encounter. Eric told him that he liked him now, and to go home. Brooks and Eric used to be friends, but they had some not-so-nice encounters. They used to carpool together, and Brooks began being late many days, which as you can guess, Eric was not happy about. One morning, Brooks overslept again, and as he was getting ready, Eric called him, but Brooks ignored him, which caused Eric to need his dad to give him a ride. Everyone was mad in the situation. Dylan was friends with Brooks, so the fallout between Brooks and Eric was very awkward for everyone involved. Take everything Brooks say with a grain of salt, because he is known for altering the truth for his own benefit. (allegedly)

Eric’s website: In his free time, Eric was known for raging and raving online about the things that he hated the most, he would also post lyrics he liked (specifically kmfdm’s songs). The website has screenshots of it plastered online, and it is absolutely unhinged. The irony of it all, is that wether he did it on purpose on not, he might have thrown jabs at Dylan in a few instances.

Eric and Dylan’s journals: Another rather (in)famous piece of the case would be the journals that both of them wrote. Although, only Eric had an actual journal, Dylan’s “journal” was a bunch of individual papers scattered among his school papers. Let’s do a brief analysis of their similarities and differences. Similarities: they both had a “unique” way of writing, which means, they very much ignored grammatical and spelling rules the English language has. Dylan would straight up make up words, and Eric liked to spell it how it sounded (he would have loved English in the 10th century). Another similarity is how both of these boys viewed themselves as “godlike” and better than anyone around them (although Eric wished he was God, while Dylan thinks he is a God). Both have a sense of superiority. But also an inferiority complex (in Dylan’s case this is super obvious, Eric conceals it a bit better, but it’s still there if you look deep enough). Another likeness lays in “death wish”; Eric’s approach to this lays more in him not really caring, he just wants to be free and is willing to die in the process, he thinks he has realised too much, Dylan, however, just plain expresses how his life is a mess and how he wishes he could die and not have to live his life anymore, he feels like everyone leaves and he truly has no one there for him. He prefers death to life, thinking it’s the solution for his problems. Now, let’s see the differences: Eric wrote to an audience, given he likely started writing once he knew the plan was going to take place, or at least when their plan started taking shape. Dylan started writing about a year before they planned NBK. Next difference is composition, Eric opted for a more straightforward approach, which he also adapts in his schoolwork. I might make a post on this, because there is so much, but, Dylan’s journal is not very cohesive. It starts making sense, but he derails into madness (for a lack of a better term), and the more you read, the less sense it makes. Eric mentions Dylan quite a bit, while Dylan does not mention Eric as much.

Eric was a psychopath: The FBI was quick to analyse both of their journals. The conclusion they reached from Eric’s journal was that Eric was a psychopath; he was a narcissistic, control freak. He displayed emotional shallowness, the need to “keep up a mask” etc… Take everything with a grain of salt, because Eric did write the journal for it to be read, so he wanted to be seen this way, wether or not this was his real self, that’s for you to decide what you choose to believe. Another case that leads people to believe Eric was a real psycho is, well, in the shooting itself. Eric was quite calm and focused, he killed more people. But, he also expresses lots of regret to what the shooting is going to do to his parents, and recognises that the shooting will be emotionally taxing on him. He also was a fan of animals, and loathed those who abused them (funny because guess what many copycats did?).

Klebob was self-loathing depressive: There is not much to add here, Dylan is known for being shy, quiet, depressive, overly independent, he was also irritable (which is a sign of depression), he hated himself and even partook in parasuicidal conducts (aka self-h4rm). Another disorder he was thought to have was Avoidant Personality Disorder (with schizotypal traits), again, take this with a grain of salt because these analysis were made after he killed himself.

15 crosses: After the tragedy, there was a memorial made for everyone whose lives were taken in this tragedy, and I mean everyone, Dylan and Eric included. This was highly controversial, as many people held the belief that the shooters should never be remembered in the same place as the victims, so the crosses were removed.

i actually really enjoy his character design and i literally color picked his color pallet from a diagram(?) that shows how a bruise heals and it worked out LMAOO sooo new character design life hack

first of all you may be thinking “5’6? short king!” and i will have you know i actually made him taller than i am irl by a few inches LMAOOO whoops t boy swag will do that to ya

anyways the thing about his color pallet being based off of that of a literal bruise IS actually relevant because he is literally immortal and is CONSTANTLY getting injured like all the time. i think conveying info about characters via their color pallets is fun and i wanna do more of it so hehe. plus green and red and purple are a nice combo and it worked out very well :3 also another little note about his design: he’s a very creative and artistic person and i wanted to show that through his clothes being somehow modified and i think i did that well too. trying to properly get back into making actually decent and thoughtful character designs so im proud of myself :3

that being said his immortality causes him a SHIT load of problems. i feel like being immortal would really suck LMAO but more-so i feel like i dont see people do much with the idea of immortality in terms of horror or at least not from what i’ve seen. like im still figuring out his lore but the basics are: he has no clue who his dad is and found out he was immortal at a somewhat young age but literally his entire life he’s been viewed as just kind of off?? like he looks human and for the most part acts it but he just has certain traits that humans…. do not have. his eyes glow in pics like a nocturnal animal’s would and his teeth are suspiciously sharp and he gets weird cravings for raw meat which he can somehow digest perfectly fine with absolutely no issue but he’s not like OVERTLY some otherworldly creature he’s just a little weird. a tad strange even. possibly even kind of unsettling depending on who you ask.

and i like to imagine these are a lot of things that were present in his childhood too, like his mother would wake up to the sound of rummaging in the kitchen and find him at the ripe old age of five just gnawing at a whole raw steak in the dark. he’s just sort of always been like that and didn’t realize it was weird until he was older. (is a lot of this used as metaphors for undiagnosed neurodiversity/mental illness? …..iii dont knowwww :3 (yes) (although not every aspect of him is a total reflection of myself, he is still his own character in many respects lolol))

but in general this ends up causing him all sorts of issues in all sorts of millions of ways. for one he has sort of a fragile sense of self because he doesn’t even know what he is?? he knows he can’t just be a regular old human because of all the previously mentioned reasons and a few more, but that aside he has no idea what he is. he also doesn’t know pretty much anything about how his immortality works beyond what he’s experienced and what the others have told him during the times when he’s “dead,” he has no idea how his aging is affected by it because he seems to be aging relatively normally so far, he has no clue if he will EVER die for good/if there’s any way to kill him, he has no idea how his body seems to heal the most insane fatal injuries as if nothing happened, and much more quickly than a normal human would, he kinda doesn’t know jack shit about himself and it pisses him off a little bit!

it also has just caused him lots of trauma as you can probably imagine. lots of dissociation everywhere he looks

moving on to how his immortality actually works: like i said there’s only so much he knows about it but this is all the info he knows so far. he CAN “die” but all of his deaths are temporary. that is to say that his body will eventually heal and regenerate itself and he will come back. it’s not like deadpool where he can get stabbed in the head and go about the rest of his day like nothing happened, he might be able to keep himself up for a while to fight back or run away but it wont be long before he drops dead for a few days or so. during said time his body outwardly does seem very dead. he’s unresponsive and still and isn’t blinking or nothing and his pupils are blown (which he already has huge pupils but yk), like if you were to just show him to someone they’d be like “yeah that’s absolutely a corpse and also why would you show this to me.” but his body is still alive in a sense, it’s just sort of… yknow when you put a computer into sleep mode?? upon first glance it’s gonna look like it’s off but inwardly things are still going on. his body is still working to regenerate itself the whole time, even if whatever he sustained that “killed” him would very much not be healable or survivable by any normal person. in his POV, he just sort of gets knocked out for a while and then wakes up exhausted and sore and absolutely FAMISHED. like he could easily eat a horse without any exaggeration the boy can eat.

he’s also always been interested in horror and the supernatural and crime and shit and is largely desensitized to that sort of stuff from that + experiencing a lot of different deaths himself bc of the whole immortality thing paired with him being generally reckless when he was younger because what’s it gonna do? kill him? (“what’re you gonna do, jeff the kill me?” -him at jeff moments before being stabbed, probably) he says he doesn’t care but it actually effects him deeply in ways he doesn’t understand for a while. as he gets older he becomes less reckless and doesn’t throw himself into dangerous situations as often.

all that being said he’s not necessarily all that dangerous himself?? he carries his dagger around with him for protection or cutting up meat and apples or woodcarving more than anything and as a proxy he works a lot more as just an… observer. despite his name he’s not really all for the killing people stuff if he can help it unlike many of the others, if anything his name more so refers to the fact that HE’S usually the one getting slashed up. (it’s actually just bc of my username but shhhhhh) but generally he much prefers to be in the background keeping watch or scoping things out or just sort of… stalking people basically. dont ask me how he manages to be stealthy in THAT outfit… he manages somehow i swear 😔

but yknow overall he’s not an incredible threat to most people, the “creepy” part of him being a creepypasta comes a lot more just from how much it would suck to be in his shoes as just a guy who happens to be immortal but still able to experience the pain of death over and over again. he isn’t the creepy thing as much as his entire life experience is LOL. usually he’s just unsettling and disturbing at most.

he also has a VERY complex relationship with BEN in my AU specifically (WHICH RANDOM DISCLAIMER TIME: NOT THE LITTLE 12 YEAR OLD VERSION NOOOOO EW my au’s BEN is like a combo of “fanon” him and behavioral event network he is not 12 years old and i dont want him being shipped with anything NEAR that version of him, ONLY my AU’s version who is 19. im not a freak. 💔 they’re not a couple anyway (BEN🤝slasher -> being aro) but i did wanna preface that just in case bc im not trying to get misinterpreted like that) might write more about that sometime… bc their relationship has a lot of symbolism and complexity bc BEN is my fav character ever period and yes i am gonna write him and my self insert oc as being incredibly deeply intertwined bc i love him and cringe culture can kick rocks and therapy is difficult to get :3 oc x canon shippers platonic or romantic yall will always be safe on my blog frfr

more random rapid fire fun facts about him bc why not: he loves piercings and tattoos and body mods bc they heal so easily for him, he has his tongue split! (NEEEED to do one day actually my dream body mod), his immortality doesn’t seem to effect his ability to get sick which he HATES but when he does get sick it only lasts for a day or so and he’s a total drama queen the whole time, he loves to sew (though only by hand, he’s genuinely afraid of sewing machines) and will patch up or modify clothes for his friends or other proxies if they ask, his favorite kind of raw meat is boar, and his favorite cooked meat is a tie between pork (boar or domestic pig) and chicken, he wears his headphones most of the time bc he loves music and sounds can sometimes overstimulate him, and BEN can talk to him through them because of course he can, he loves animals and actually has way more empathy for them than for humans, and he absolutely LOVES medical dramas and does not care that a lot of the actual medical parts are inaccurate he will eat them up. he WILL be caught staying up until 6am watching chicago med and he will not apologize.

Another thing that I like about the Silco and Jinx dynamic as I see it in s1 is how we see how Powder in act I was already very troubled but despite that it didn’t show much. Sure she sulked and messed stuff up but Vander seemed like he was not interacting with Powder enough to know anything bad was going on inside her head or that it even was a problem that she messed stuff up, like he’s never told it was specifically Powder who lost the loot or that it caused issues within the group, Vi handles the matter completely on her own. Vi seemed oblivious to the possibility of Powder having a meltdown, Mylo clearly doesn’t think his complaining does any damage to her mind or he'd stop/tone it down, if Claggor thought it was that bad you’d think he’d protect Powder more too. We get all these close-ups to her face and some quiet moments like when she separates from the group in the apartment or when she’s cornered at the docks or when she eavesdrops on Mylo and Vi and of course when she has her meltdown. We the audience have a way better understanding of just in how much distress she is non-stop and how isolated and helpless she is and how everything scares/hurts her. Just like it often is the case with ppl who are struggling, bcos most times she’s shy and polite and so ppl around her are unaware of how bad it is.

And then Silco’s treatment of her, spoiling her, lack of discipline or boundaries or consequences etc. in the long run exacerbated certain issues but I’d argue that it primarily just created an environment where she’s showing her issues way more than she did beforehand. Before there was an attempt to fit into society/her environment and act properly, like a normal person. Living with Silco, neither of these matter cos they don’t matter to him, he himself is an evil weirdo who doesn’t care if ppl like him. Combine the understanding/safe space with a new parent who encourages self-isolation/self-acceptance to the point of embracing your bad traits/maladaptive coping mechanisms and with her own overwhelming experiences and it’s not hard to imagine her early on while living with Silco simply changing her attitude and self-expression to be more honest and open and unapologetic to how she acted before. years later resulting in her outwardly exhibiting unhinged behaviors and even intentionally playing into her ‘crazy’ reputation for strength/advantage when before she was hiding/suppressing her issues.

It's heart-warming that she feels safe and understood with Silco and trusts him more than anyone else and is more confident than before. However her displaying her issues more than ever only to be enabled no matter how bad it gets would of course only result in the further deterioration of her behavioral/social issues. But it’s also not like Silco has the external means (psychiatrists on runeterra) or internal means (healthy mind, knowledge of mental illnesses) to actually do anything about her issues anyway. just like Vi/Vander didn’t have the means to help her in any way, they could never 1)figure out what’s wrong and 2)be able to fix it.

NEW UPDATE!!! God I love Lanyon so much im so hyped to dive into this

Something ive noticed with many characters in TGS is their persistence to keep everyone to have this view of them. Jekyll, of course, wants to be seen as the perfect, put together, leader of the society, while Hyde wants to be seen as someone who doesn’t really care about stuff, someone who’s tough and carefree.

In this case Lanyon seems to be closer to Hyde than Jekyll on this front. He wants to keep his “i dont care about anything” appearance, it shows how he presents himself in studies as well as playing the guys in his university. Even now Lanyon sometimes acts as if he doesn’t care about Jekyll or his issues but in reality, Lanyon cares a lot for very certain things.

By trying to act as though he doesn’t care makes it so he cares more, and Jekyll is reasonably confused by this.

I like how Jekyll more approaches Lanyon being confused and just wanting to understand why than a more judgmental approach. Jekyll just doesn’t understand, I dont think he’s Judging Lanyon as much as he just wants to know why.

He has a different goal to prove himself to people so he wants to know why Lanyon can prove himself but chooses not to.

To bring back what i said last week; Lanyon is smart, he knows things, but he acts like he doesn’t as a way of defying his father. But now that im looking at it, it’s s once again an example of reputation and how trying to keep it up can hold you back on many fronts.

Lanyon was quick to change the subject, he doesn’t want Jekyll, or anyone around them, to figure out the truth but the seeds had already been planted in Jekylls mind and now he’s connecting some dots he hasn’t thought of before.

“The second you put your mind to anything, you take to it like a duck in water” Lanyon puts his mind to a lot of things but I think he truly only gets into them if he actually wants to.

For example; when he was trying to not Care about jekyll during the society fair thing (i need to reread so bad I just dont have the time) he wasnt able to, it was like he was trying to force himself not to care like his university days but whenever he saw Jekyll he had to remind himself over and over again to push that care down.

Lanyon might’ve not needed to force himself to care as much during university but it might’ve taken a bit to get to this point of being able to do it easily. But if its something he truly cares about he has a hard time pretending that he doesn’t or is very determined to keep it like his reputation.

Ngl, if I was Lanyon and someone looked at me like that I would break in a second.

Lanyon can tell that Jekyll is close to figuring him out and its both scary in this moment aswell as surprised. No one has been able to put this together, no one else has seemed to care this much before or has gotten so close to him to see multiple signs

Lanyon is stronger than me and did not break but I would’ve been in shambles.

Lanyon Always says that he doesn’t care when Jekyll catches him? I think that shows how much he does care if he has to constantly remind that he doesn’t means that he must show that he does at some points, and it also indicates that Jekyll asked more in the future, just because of Lanyon saying he said it whenever he was caught of guard.

I genuinely love Lanyon so much, there’s so much to his character and its so interesting to me, he definitely is up as one of my favorite characters of all time. He just as so much depth to him, how much he doesn’t care yet does care, I like characters with a lot of depth more than just what you can see on the surface.

Whenever we get to see his thoughts it can give us more explanation and more of an understanding than what Jekyll had seen.

I want to know why Lanyon brought this up, the only thing I can think of is trying to lure Jekyll out but it’s still interesting,

So because for whatever reason, TFA Sentinel has been incredibly prevalent in my mind today, I decided I might as well draw him

The first big issue was drawing that goddamn face. The big chin caused problems for me because it changes how I need to draw the face. So he didn’t really end up looking great on my first try (top left)

But by the second drawing I found a way, one that stuck throughout the rest of the drawing as I had the sketch on hand to look at. This is how I had it for that last one

But yeah, scheming Sentinel probably ended up turning out the best in my opinion

I still need to work on his body proportions though, the bottom left especially is pretty wonky. But maybe with some more practice I’ll get it down more

It’s the shovel things on his shoulder that get me the most, I feel like I make them too small but also they cover too much area at the same time

The bottom left I drew because one of my references made me realize he had some absolutely huge hands

Due to proportion wonkiness, I don’t think I made them big enough to convey the actual point, but at least there’s the ref to get what I’m saying

The bottom right meanwhile I drew mostly because I wanted to draw him with big shook eyes. Then I made it a reference to when I tried to draw TFA Optimus by making him shocked by TFO Sentinel

But yeah, I think it turned out relatively well, and I wouldn’t mind drawing him more. Should probably try drawing him with Optimus in all honesty, and maybe Elita/Blackarachnia

I really don’t know why he’s a favorite of mine, but he is. He’s a little bastard and I like seeing him suffer

Maybe it was the fanfic, maybe it wasn’t. I don’t know but he’s mine now

But I’m also really sad that he’ll never get the chance to have a proper character arc. I know I’ve spoken about it before, but I’m sad about it again. Granted, the show might never have given him one (and tbh I kind of lean more on the idea that he wouldn’t) but that’s one of the beauties of cancelled seasons, you can imagine anything was going to happen if it was plausible enough

I think he needs to properly suffer before getting a proper arc though. Or I guess have that be what drives him to change his ways. Not really sure what the suffering would be though, since I don’t think getting punished for his shadiness as acting Magnus would do that, it’d be more comeuppance than anything

I’m thinking it should deal with his organic phobia, like have him be made a techno-organic or something, if only temporarily. But even if temporary, he has to properly suffer like that for a while, maybe gaining more of an understanding of what Blackarachnia’s gone through and/or more of an understanding of organics

Honestly considering Blackarachnia was going to be the villain of Season 4, it probably wouldn’t be that implausible, I just don’t know if they would. And it’ll never happen anyways, so who cares?

Ah well, I suppose. That’s what fanfiction is for. So I need a multi chapter fanfic about a Sentinel redemption arc. Maybe it could be me one day, but I don’t have the commitment for that right now, just like every other idea I had

Anyways, I’m getting carried away now. Sentinel is neat and I don’t care if people hate him, he’s special to me, even if I don’t know why

|🩰| Leander definitely wouldn’t be a fan of the attitude you had with him either, but unlike Vere he is much more willing to give people a second chance (even if they don’t exactly deserve it on occasion, he does want to see the good in people)

|🩰| He’d ask you if he did something to make you uncomfortable or if you wanted him to leave. Maybe he said something? Whatever the outcome is, he’d give you some space in order to prevent it escalating at all.

|🩰| Would still make a point to smile and wave to you when he sees you out and about, only to be pleasantly surprised when you return his greetings with no hint of malice. If anything, you seemed happy to see him.

|🩰| As mentioned above, Leander is more than willing to give you another chance at a first impression, asking if you’d like to meet him for drinks in order to get to know each other.

|🩰| He’d come to the assumption rather quickly that you may not have even realized you were being short with him when you two first met, maybe it was social anxiety? Whatever it is, you seem like a genuinely really sweet person.

|🩰| He doesn’t make it awkward at all, telling you that it’s alright no matter how many times you apologize for the way you acted when you first met.

|🩰| Definitely helpful when it comes to making better first impressions with other people. Especially if you’re the type to be much more comfortable as long as you have another person you know around, he’d have no issue accompanying you when you introduce yourself to somebody new.

|🩰| Out of everyone on this list, he’d be the most likely to forget about it completely. Leander quickly comes to the conclusion that the way you acted that night isn’t a reflection of you as a person, so he lets himself forget about that interaction completely.

|🩰| Ais draws the conclusion that you may have been really nervous when the two of you met. It was really crowded in the Wet Wick that night, and you didn’t seem to know a single person in the room.

|🩰| Your first conversation with him would be incredibly brief for this reason, not enough time for you to really get an idea of who Kuras is, but not enough for you to get a bad first impression. (However, your impression on him wouldn’t necessarily be the best in the world)

|🩰| Kuras spends most of his time inside of the clinic, so the two of you wouldn’t interact again until quite some time.

|🩰| The next time he does see you, even he is pleasantly surprised by just how lovely you really are when you’re comfortable around someone. Even with lots of life experience, he still finds people like you who surprise him. This is one of the reasons he loves humanity.

|🩰| Kuras wouldn’t necessarily forget about your first meeting, but he would certainly forgive it and allow the two of you to start off on a blank slate.

|🩰| He’d never bring up your first meeting after the two of you become close. Similarly to Mhin, he genuinely doesn’t think it is important- it is no reflection of who you are.

|🩰| Whenever you’re meeting new people after, he does his best to help you make a good impression. If he needs to be the one doing the introducing in order to give you time to warm up, so be it.

|🩰| Genuinely plays devils advocate (which is ironic considering he’s an angel) when it comes to getting people to warm up to you. He will swear up and down that you are the kindest person ever to anyone he meets, trying his best to get others to look past your rough exterior.

Nick knows that you know that he’s watching you. 

He usually is. 

It’s hard to look away. 

He’s never acted upon that little crush he’s been harbouring on you, but he also can’t force it to go away. 

The issue is your ex. 

It’s not that the guy is stopping you from seeing other people or anything, he’s just – a little intimidating. He’s only really seen him on stage and a few times in passing, and what he’s seen has been enough to make him keep his distance. 

He looks away just as you look towards him. 

Nick really doesn’t mind that you’re still friends with your ex. It just makes making a move a little more difficult. 

He’d hoped that he could use the occasion to move things into a different direction. Nick hadn’t anticipated that Noah would invite Darius – or that he’d show up with his whole band. 

You’re squished in between Darius and his brother, happily chatting with them. Nick’s been waiting for his chance all evening, but it just doesn’t want to come.

He retreats into the kitchen, trying to get away from the scene. 

You enter the kitchen just as he plucks a beer from the fridge. 

“Can you get me one too?” 

He jumps a little, obviously spooked by your sudden appearance. 

You hop up on the counter, watching as he pulls a second bottle from the fridge. 

“How was your tour? Did things go alright?” you ask, taking a sip from your beer. 

Nick gives a quick nod, “No hiccups. Crowds were fun too.”  

He remains at a safe distance, leaning against the counter opposite you. 

“That’s good. I’m glad you had a good time. Are you doing anything fun while you’re on break?” 

You’ve been trying your hardest to get him to crack. You know that he has at least some interest in you, but you can’t for the life of you understand why he’s not doing anything about it. As far as you’re concerned, you’ve made it clear that you’re also interested in him. You’re not sure how much more of your complaining about this your friends can take. 

Nick gives a vague response about his not really fixed plans. 

“So if I need help setting up that bookshelf I ordered, I could call you?” You ask, hoping that he’ll bite this time. 

“I — sure, yes.” He stammers. 

It’s good enough for you. 

You’re not sure if it’ll actually happen, but you’re willing to be hopeful. 

You hear Alex call your name from the living room, prompting you to hop off the counter again. 

“I’m counting on your help now!” You say as you head back to the rest of your group. 

Nick is still bracing himself on the counter when Noah finds him. 

“Did you finally tell her?” He asks, coming to stand next to him. 

When Nick doesn’t answer he lets out a heavy sigh, “You know that she’ll eventually get someone else right?” 

“I know.”

“So what’s stopping you? You like her. She obviously likes you. Where’s the hurdle?”

“That ex of hers.”

Noah blinks at him for a moment, “Darius? What about him? He didn’t say anything, did he?”

Nick shakes his head, “I’m not about to step onto that guy's territory.”

“Territory? They’re friends Nick. Darius is a great guy.” He says with a laugh, “Have you ever even talked to him? I don’t think that he’s going to stand in the way of his friend's happiness. Even if they used to date at some point. Make your move.”

The party is slowly simmering down, and you decide to step outside for a little breather. 

You’re alone for maybe five minutes before the sliding door opens again. You don’t have to check to know who is joining you. 

“So when’s that bookshelf coming?” Nick asks, and you feel a little bit of warmth blooming in your chest.

I think it'd be funny if Saruhiko was that all bark but no bite kinda person in bed? Like, imagine he just keeps making fun of Yata for being a virgin but when they finally DO begin fucking Saruhiko is the first one panting and exasperated.

May or may not be because he didn't exactly grasp the concept of feelings in a romantic and sexual relationship before so it sounded more easy said than done.

. As someone who firmly believes that for all his talk Fushimi is also a virgin, I fully enjoy this idea. I can absolutely see Fushimi as someone who has like grasped the general idea of sex and doesn’t see the big deal about it, like okay it’s supposed to feel good and presumably there’s sweating and fluids everywhere which sounds uncomfortable but otherwise not a big deal. He enjoys teasing Yata for being a virgin because Fushimi doesn’t see anything to be embarrassed about when it comes to talking about sex, it’s just bodies after all, and seeing Yata get all blushy and stuttering is funny. For a long time Fushimi also probably assumed sex was something not relevant to his life anyway — Fushimi strikes me very much as someone who wouldn’t want to be touched by a person he doesn’t have any kind of connection with (in one of the Gakuen K drama CDs he even refuses the hot springs because other people have bathed in them) and considering his nonexistent levels of self esteem I can see Fushimi treating sex as something he’s looking at from the outside, he doesn’t need to be embarrassed by it because it’s simply not something he will ever have to deal with.

Then he and Yata hook up and now sex is suddenly an actual thing that he has to contend with. I imagine the first time he and Yata get up the courage to actually put their hands in each other’s pants, Fushimi is just teasing Yata for his red face but at the same time Fushimi has like no stamina at all and doesn’t even manage to outlast Yata. And then when they start actually having full on penetrative sex and suddenly Fushimi is all panting and barely able to speak, red-faced and clumsy and getting really annoyed that sex wasn’t as easy as it sounded when he read about it online. I also imagine after their very first time especially Fushimi just having a moment afterward as the sheer emotion and intimacy of what they just did hits him, like it’s very easy to think of sex as a thing bodies do and an entirely different thing to process the emotions behind it especially since you know Yata was being all loving and honest throughout the whole thing. That’s probably even harder for Fushimi than the act itself — he can handle being touched by Yata and when they’re both all frenzied and horny it’s fine, but when things become slower and more passionate and intimate and now suddenly Fushimi’s having to face stark naked emotion and that’s just entirely new territory for him. (None of this stops him from teasing Yata about being a virgin though, which Yata finds totally exasperating especially when Fushimi says it while they are actively in the middle of having sex.)

Thinking about step 9 and the whole concept of forgiveness of one’s self and others and it bringing healing and how bobby and Eddie have been paralleled a fair amount and the idea that Eddie started this process back at the end of s5 with his forgiveness and acceptance of his father but how he hasn’t yet gone anywhere near his mother and their relationship .

How his catholic guilt storyline seems more likely to play on his reltionship with his mother than his father (if his father wasn’t around that much it would’ve been Helena taking him to church etc each week) so the idea of an Eddie - Helena storyline that plays on catholic guilt and potentially his queerness in relation to that has me chewing on glass - it could be so epically good

feeling completely insane about The Author And His Protagonist™️ this morning and now I'm thinking about bingqiu too, and like. Airplane of course wrote Luo Binghe to be everything he wasn't, this cool and powerful stallion protagonist. And he also wrote him to be what the readers wanted, especially as time went on. But there's bit of himself embedded in Binghe -- his insecurities, his fear of abandonment, his loneliness, his hunger for love. Those vulnerabilities are hidden away under layers of strength and stallion badassery in PIDW, but for Bingmei, they're laid bare and ratcheted up to eleven

And then Shen Yuan. He of course loved Luo Binghe The Protagonist™️ but he fell in love with Luo Binghe, the real person with insecurities and fears and strange ugly edges to his personality. He saw this carnival mirror reflection of Airplane's flaws, and he wanted nothing more than to wrap Binghe up and love him and care for him and soothe those insecurities
