listen, there's a lot of talk about how unfair roberta is to alma. but yknow we need to have in mind that roberta is the 16 year-old here

if she feels so hurt, if her instinct is to think alma wants attention rather than to take care of her, if she assumes alma is having flings with a lot of the men she sees with her and if she's so jealous - she did not invent these things. alma might not be at fault of a lot of what roberta accuses her of now, but its highly implied that she did some of these things regularly when roberta was a child.

now, sure, alma was trying to give her a better life; but she's also an ambitious artist who does like attention. thats a complicated combination when raising a baby. she's also recognized her faults and is trying her best to make up to roberta now, and she deserves all the credit for that. i love alma, and i do think roberta is unfair to her many times.... but roberta doesnt treat her like that just because. she is a kid, and shes having a hard time processing the hurt of her childhood to forgive alma. and its actually rlly . questionable the way a lot of people talk about and blame roberta only tbh

Yes, more Fo4 conversions. I don't know why everything I've done so far has been seating (or tables) but oh well. This took a little longer than I had hoped because there were other things I'd wanted to convert but they just weren't turning out any good, so ultimately this is what I was left with. This is the sofa from the "Modern Domestic" set, plus the coffee tables from the Pre-War prologue of the game.

Details:

I've changed things up with the sofas a little this time, in two ways. The first is that while there is an add-on version without the armrest... things, there is also a standalone version of the armless mesh, which shares its guid with the original mesh, meaning you can use it without the original and still have all recolors.

The second change is that the sofa cushion recolors are all patterns this time, as I didn't really want to do the color ones again. (I'm not exactly sure on those palettes lol) The default texture is a plain blank color however, for easier recoloring.

The sofa has two subsets and the coffee tables have one, they both use the same natural wood colors as last time.

The small coffee table is linked to the big one.

Textures this time are 1024x1024, because they didn't size down well. Files are compressed.

A little love letter to Din Djarin writers... 🤍

I love that some of you write him as soft and gentle while others focus on the darker, harsher parts of his personality. I love that he can be both a quiet, kind man caring for his child or an intimidating, terrifying bounty hunter who is a lean, mean killing machine... depending on what the fic warrants.

I love how you write him with other characters from The Mandalorian or even with those who would never cross paths with him in canon, from Star Wars or elsewhere. I love how you write him interacting with yourselves and us, and some of you even create your own original characters to exist a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away alongside him.

I love that some of you ship him with that one other special person, while others recognise how desirable he is and ship alllllll the ships. Not forgetting those of you which are here for none of those ships and/or even headcanon him as ace. I love that any of those options allow you to explore your own identities and sexualities through him.

I love that you can write the most tooth-rotting fluff or filthiest smut, and all of those things in between. Whether it's for general audiences or explicit and strictly 18+ ... all of your fics have an audience and someone out there who appreciates your writing.

I love how differently you can interpret him, but there are also so many common themes and tropes running through your writing. I love that there is room for all of your Dins here.

I love that he means so much to you and that all of us here hold him in our hearts a little bit. I love that we can all watch the same episodes and come to entirely different conclusions about him. I love how much we love him.

Getting to be a part of this wonderful community and interact with so many people who love the space tin can man as much as I do has truly been one of the best things that happened to me recently. I'm so glad I made this little blog... It reminded me just how good fandom can be. I am blown away by the number of talented people here!

So, I just wanted to take a moment to express some gratitude towards all of you! Thank you for writing your Dins and please don't ever stop. Finally.... last, but not least:

i often get asked how to draw fat bodies, and my advice is to start by studying volumes and forms. before tackling full bodies, it is important to build a strong foundation. take a 3d shape (cube, sphere, whatever) and use it to learn how weight sits, moves, and interacts with gravity. in animation, we used the ball and sack bag test to study volume and weight, which also introduced principles like squash and stretch, spacing, and timing. as you get comfortable with these concepts, you can start applying them to drawing bodies. and as you get even more comfortable, you can begin to exaggerate your drawings.

even if you never plan to animate, studying cartooning can teach you a lot about volume, movement, and weight. all that good stuff.

there are so many great art books out there too. morpho by michel lauricella is a popular recommendation and a great reference to have on hand. i also love the animator's survival kit by richard williams (MY GOAT), anything by andrew loomis (THE GOAT), FORCE: dynamic life drawing by michael d. mattesi, and atlas of human anatomy for the artist by stephen rogers peck. there are plenty more, but these are the ones that come to mind.

i apply the same idea when drawing hard surfaces like vehicles, armor, and mecha. understanding perspective and form is important. i break down complex shapes into simpler ones, like cubes, cuboids, or cylinders. this makes it easier to visualize how they sit in space and how light interacts with them. studying the fundamentals of form, volume, and weight applies to almost anything you draw.

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY....get really really really really really super into golden kamuy and disco elysium. you will not regret it. here are my befores and afters...

I read Running Up That Hill by @dunedragon and I ADORE it. If you're a battle network fan, I reccomend checking it out. It takes the lore and makes a REALLY compelling narrative involving Lan & Mega getting role swapped and adjusting to their new roles while trying to solve a mystery to get switched back. It's really good food.

So of course I had to do my usual thing and make plushies of them.
