I'm on fire tonight, I even did a cook! :D
Ingredients:
1 pound peeled and de-veined raw shrimp
1 whole stick of butter (approximately 1/2 cup or 1/4 pound)
2 tablespoons of minced garlic
5 stalks of green onions from our window onion garden, probably about 1/4-1/3 cup chopped
1 can mushrooms
1 can bamboo shoots
1 can water chestnuts
Black pepper to taste
2 drizzles of teriyaki sauce (drizzle approximately equal to a tablespoon? Maybe? Idk I eyeballed it lol)
1 drizzle soy sauce
1 bag of shredded Parmesan and Romano cheese blend
(not visible) Stovetop rice (2 1/2 cups water, 1/2 stick butter, 1 cup rice, salt)
In an effort to create an actual recipe, my steps were as follows:
Make your stove top rice however you normally make that (I boil the water, butter, and salt then add the rice and simmer for 18 minutes, you might have a better method, do what makes your heart sing)
While rice is happening, in a large pan melt 1 stick of butter over a medium heat
Add garlic and onions, saute them for about a minute, then add your mushrooms, bamboo, and water chestnuts
Stir around your veggies to ensure they're coated in the butter, adding black pepper, soy sauce, and teriyaki sauce
Add shrimp, cover, and cook for approximately 12 minutes or however long it takes for the shrimp to get cooked all the way through, stirring occasionally to prevent burning/sticking
Remove tails from shrimp (optional; placed here bc I find removing the tails easier after the shrimp is cooked)
Dump in cheese
Mix mix mix until the cheese and butter-sauce becomes a cheesy butter sauce
Serve over rice
Enjoy!
Makes probably about four servings, as a rough guestimate.
Might forego the cheese next time and see how that turns out, but this is nicely tasty :)
#bobbi's being weird again#I've come up with a new recipeh#food#cooking#shrimp#I almost forgot to take my lactaid pills#remembered about halfway through so here's hoping they work retroactively lol#I should be fine parmesan and romano aren't lactose heavy cheeses#but that was a LOT of butter I used

Ushijima has a total listening count of approximately 100,000 minutes for the year on Spotify. He only has one song on his Spotify wrapped - he likes its beat and one specific melody. It is 3 minutes long. The artist is not well known. It is the worst song Tendou has ever heard in his life.
Ushijima replays the song as soon as a distraught Tendou finishes looking at his Spotify wrapped.
#mom says it's my turn with the aux#i spent 91'382 mins listening to music on spotify this year#i listen to a lot of music on other apps and vinyl too - i wonder how much more that would add to the pot#loser baby was my top spotify wrapped song and i havent even watched hazbin hotel#idk who the characters are singing it but i love loser x loser#im also in the top 0.05% for Epic which im not surprised by but it only made up a tenth of my total listening time and that is surprising#i apparently spent the rest of the time listening to other musicals + rock + swan lake 😭😭😭#pas de deux: andante is my bread and butter#be more chill had a comeback this year for me too - POTO 25th anniversary edition never left my goddamn mind#it's been my mental soundtrack and in my spotify wrapped since I was 16 so happy 5 year anniversary to us !!#haikyuu#haikyuu!!#hq#ushiten#tendou satori#ushijima wakatoshi#ushijima x tendou#spotify wrapped

I find the episode “Going Native” so interesting because South Park perfectly encapsulated the continuous settler colonisation that mainland Americans inflict on the island of Hawai’i, as well as exposing the stereotypes that are reinforced against the indigenous population.
The episode starts off with Butters being so uncharacteristically angry, beating up a kid for having diabetes and calling out most of his friends for their self proclaimed expertise, their self-centred nature, their selfishness and cowardice. He carries this anger with him, even when talking to his parents, despite the fact he is usually incredibly obedient and scared of what they might do to him otherwise.
His parents “understand” where this anger is coming from and explain that it is because he is “different” and not from this place but “native” to Hawai’i and that is why he is experiencing these angry and violent spells.
While Butters is not a native Hawaiian, he is presented that way for the plot of the episode and this is when harmful and racist stereotypes of indigenous peoples are reinforced by the foreigners. Natives have historically been seen as angry, selfish and violent “savages”, people unwilling to “share” their land and therefore result to killing and warfare. In terms of Hawaiians specifically, they were painted as people who were uncivilised to rule and often times depicted as caricatures in the press to justify the colonisation of the island.
Not only that, but we also see the bastardisation and co-optation of native Hawaiian culture by foreigners. Use of phrases like “ancient ruins”, the display of making Kenny do a “trial” on a surfboard when Hawaiian are well known voyagers and the very idea of Butters having a “coming of age” ceremony all points to the practise of foreigners “enjoying Hawaiian culture.” However, the culture is often a westernised version of traditional practises. A real life example of this is the “classic” portrayal of a hula dance with a sexualised woman wearing a coconut bra, when in reality the Hula is steeped in Hawaiian folklore and history. It is the same in the episode, with the use of native terminology but in reality these “rituals” and “ancient ruins” were just cheaper copies of tradition.
The biggest take away from this episode is the amount of native Hawaiians that are shown as working for the foreigners that are living and exploiting their land. In the airport, at the food places, as security in the residence. They have to stand there and take people saying they are “native”, flashing their awards card that “proves” they’re “local” while the indigenous people are forced to work for their colonisers. It’s a direct reflection of life in Hawai’i for the natives. A large number of the population live in poverty, with many needing to work in resorts in order to survive, despite the fact that these resorts are taking their native land and making it hard for them to live at home. Pricing them out of their native land.
This episode may be fun, it might focus on two fan favourite characters, but it also gives a good insight on settler colonialism.
#I was going to do a whole essay style analysis with citations but I got impatient#I might still do it I wrote an essay for my degree on this so I have a lot of sources I could use#I’m also indigenous (not to North America or Hawai’i) but indigenous so this is inportant. indigenous solidarity !!#south park#txt post#south park meta#south park analysis#kenny mccormick#butters stotch#sp kenny#sp butters#south park kenny#south park butters#linda stotch#stephen stotch#sp Stephen#sp linda#sp#noreen’s think pieces#sp bunny#south park bunny#going native

biscuits topped with honey butter!
#i love biscuits#however it is really annoying to have to use plant butter (it's cheaper than regular butter sighs) bc of its low melting point#it's naturally a lot softer than normal butter which is a real pain when it comes to making delicate things like pastry/biscuits#so i cubed it and put it in the freezer for like 30 mins#had to work fast so it wouldn't soften during the cutting and folding and shaping process

Did Marj ever fall into a goth/emo/scene (whichever the author prefers) phase? And if so, did Kenny like it?
Yes...
...yes...
...and yes.
I sorta went through a lot a phases when I was figurin' things out.
As for Kenny's thoughts...
He told me I needed to stop tryin' so hard to fit into these categories. Cuz if I could just be myself, then, well,
That'd be his favorite version of me.

There's something so insane to me about being able to create and recreate vintage or even ancient music, clothes, fabrics, building architecture, anything, really.
I watched this video about a lady who knit a WWII-era vest, and it was really unique, because the cable work would eat up yarn, when there were shortages of fibers. This pattern would have likely been used by people to send overseas to soldiers, and now it's being created in a time where this war has been over for generations. What were the people making this pattern thinking of? What about the people making the vest? Could they fathom a world where world wars didn't happen back to back? Could they imagine what peace felt like, or did it fade like a distant memory, a faint friend? All we have now are the remnants of their efforts, a "simple" vest that would warm the bodies of countless people the knitter would never have imagined were here on earth with them.
We're reaching across time to learn about other people - we're reaching our hands out just to grasp anything tangible. And when we've take hold of something, all we can do is say I love you I love you I love you
#positivity#art#i also come across this absolutely stunning woman who collects vintage pieces from the '50s and it's just. it's mind boggling#or how we've found ancient sheet music and have recreated its contents#do you ever think about how we're time travelers#do you ever think about what might be recreated of us in the future#this isn't about nostalgia baiting but about how we learn and process the ways that people in the past lived#you don't have to feel nostalgic for WWII to be intrigued by this (it would be very concerning if one WAS nostalgic for WWII)#i just. i die a little inside because i know i will never know everything...#...i will never know every lottle thing about people in the past especially...#...and i am never completely satisfied because only a very selective amount of things are preserved and remembered...#...i wonder then what 'forgotten' people thought and felt and how they lived...#...especially as individuals or as a small clan of family and friends. i want to know them intomately - as if i myself have become emeshed..#...does this make sense. i don't just want to know about nobles and kings and the wealthy...#...i want to know what the lacemaker for a king felt making lace for the royals...#...i want to know what the rice field worker thought about when the fields were flooded and they swatted a bug away from their skin...#...i want to know what a mother of a small child thought when churning butter - her baby cooing and making a mess...#...and it sucks sometimes to know that we're time travelers but in a very narrow sense. but i still love what we have got...#...don't get me wrong i love it. but i still grieve that we have lost a lot of history - a lot of people...#...or maybe we have only lost them in the sense that we just haven't located and found them *yet*#anyway i've watched that video multiple times now and i just go absolutely animalistic thinking about it#all of this is complex and i have Plenty of thoughts about that. but at least to me this is what i've seen a lot - a lot of love#and isn't studying this - recreating it and analyzing it - isn't that a form of love?#am i... a nosy person..........

Thinking about how good the stock I made this weekend was and shedding a single tear
#added tomato paste so the acid would cut the spice and strained the whole lot after about 8 hours total of cooking.#made orzo with the fresh stock and then a chicken and bean stew of sorts the next day#before I made the stew the plain stock was so good it gelatinized slightly in the fridge#best comparison I could give is the tomato based broth u can sometimes get at hot pot#quarter of a chicken carcas with whatever skin was left. ginger. garlic. Parmesan rind for umami and salt. red chili flakes (too much) cook#for six hours. realize it’s too spicy. add a tablespoon of butter. splash of lemon juice. small can of tomato paste. cook for two hours#strain. enjoy stock as is or use to cook. there enjoy#the chicken was from my local Peruvian place so their spices also contributed. good luck.#might have tossed paprika in there idk

this is going to make me sound so insane and parasocial but my family used to live in the uk and sometimes I really miss specific things like the food/snacks/gen grocery stuff bc it’s still pretty familiar to me so sometimes I’ll just go on the tesco website and browse like im doing my normal grocery shopping and think “hm I wonder what dnp buy on the regular”
#it used to be the classics like crunchy nut and ribena and Malteasers!!1#still think philly’s snackies and squashies are a priority#and they’re normal guys they def keep lots of tea and biscuits on hand for guests#but now I’m like I wonder if they buy the good bread and butter#throw some healthy things like fancy protein shakes in there#they seem like ready meal kit guys when they still don’t feel like cooking but also not takeout yknow#being weird about food again it’s just such an important part of life to me#red I feel like you’ll understand me hi if you’re reading these :3#dnp#randomthots

blorbos from my brain
#beloved villainxcivilian wip. i need to draw you#post unrelated to previous few. mostly#if anyone's reading this post and curious: vague superhero/villain-containing setting; mc is a woman who gets out of a shit relationship#w a local hero by selling his work laptop to a local villain and using the money to flee the province/whatever with her cat & suitcase.#gets set up w a tiny apartment. barely leaves. severe anxiety that she's gonna be tracked down by either her ex or the villain to tie up lo#loose ends#eventually unwinds enough to leave; takes a 3rd shift at an ancient tiny library with old archives#local supervillain (not that she knows at first) becomes a repeat visitor looking over the old city blueprints and hwhatnot on file#eventually unwinds enough to start a mayyybe situationship#he's not blind she's clearly very distrusting n nervous even if she's got a crazy good customer service face so he's very slow abt it#lets her set the pace of whatever they're doing#which simultaneously reassures her and makes her nervous#because it could be a mask. it could be a trap. she literally has no way to really know#gets worse when the truth about his profession comes out#mental breakdown. lots of yelling. butter knife brandished like a weapon (<- taken very seriously)#once shit settles a lot of time is dedicated to figuring out how they want to continue this. if they want to#given that there is realistically a crazy power dynamic between them. she's an immigrant who had to uproot herself from literally everyone#and everything she knows and has; has no support system in a country she is technically not legally supposed to be in;#he is very influential; having both notable scores of money socked away and a potentially a mole in the local policing force#if he wanted to make her disappear in one way or another it would not be difficult for him#much how her ex was becoming. extremely overbearing so to speak#so Yah trying to navigate that. very serious discussions if they can make that work out or if they should split#bc i want a happy ending i think they make it work! not sure about the specifics but theyre good#i think he doesnt realize how badly shes fucked up until at some point after The Breakdown he puts together that she's the reason the hero#in a few provinces away got completely Fucked by the local villain scene#and putting that together with her severe anxiety and not-great living situation. why she would've possibly done that#anyways. the inspiration for this all was mostly out of distaste for most of the romantasy books i have to see in various fandom tags#male love interest who doesn't really respect boundaries VS. m.l.i. who is extremely respectful of boundaries while managing to remain a vi#villain by the laws of the genre/setting/otherwise plot#(and asking the question of what does villainy mean in this context)

I like to make like, super rich and concentrated hot chocolate on the stove so I can store it in my fridge and then like, dilute it a bit, reheat it and it's the perfect richness balance for whatever I'm feeling that day. It's one of those things i don't really measure ingredients for because it's very difficult to do it wrong- it's just about making sure you like the taste. So, uh, I got distracted while I was making it (because i have a mouse in the walls of my apartment and a dog who loses his mind every time he hears said mouse and insists on telling me about it) and long story short there is like a gallon of hot cocoa concentrate in my fridge now whoops
#personal#this is a very silly problem to have i am aware#i need more people locally i can call up and be like 'i made too much of this thing pls come eat/drink it'#it's sort of an 'if you give a mouse a cookie' situation bc i was cleaning out my fridge#and was like 'this heavy cream is about to be past it's date lemme do something with it that will keep'#so i just made some salted caramel sauce bc it keeps forever and i also had butter i wanted to use up#plus you can dip apples in it for a lil treat and it's tasty#and then was like 'whoops this is too much caramel sauce lemme put this in something that will get used sooner'#hence the hot cocoa#bc there was also milk i wanted to use up before it turned#and like it's very tasty but there is a LOT OF IT in my fridge

top tip to spruce up eating porridge for age regressors! (or anyone who likes porridge)
get some drizzly honey (the ones in squirty bottles) and draw a shape on top of your porridge!
it disappears pretty quickly but it's a fun way to start breakfast especially if you're struggling to :D
i challenge myself to do a different picture everytime, but my favourites are definitely snails and hearts!!!
if you try this reblog with a picture of your creation :))
#age regression#sfw agere#agere#age regressor#agere blog#sfw age regression#agere community#sfw littlespace#sfw interaction only#safe agere#tw food mention#food mention#i know a lot of people don't like porridge but it's as close to baby food as i am currently able to get#so I have it fairly frequently#i also mainly eat it for breakfast before going running because it's healthy or whatver#there's loads of other ways to spruce it up like fruits and drizzles and peanut butter or Nutella or anything really#but my mum used to do this with me as a kid so it's also super nostalgic :D#i hope you have fun if you try this!!!
