listen. listen closely. gorgug LOVES spooning - romantic or platonic, he loves being the big spoon specifically, he just sleeps better when his brain and instincts know hes comforting and protecting someone; this is often zelda while theyre dating, but also the other bad kids ! one sleepover he woke up in the middle of the night to adaine tossing and turning, unable to fall asleep, and his half asleep brain just pulled her closer and held her until he felt her drift off, and it spread to the others from there

gorgug is usually the second one to wake up at sleepovers (in freshman year at least), after riz, so its no surprise when hes the one to go investigate the sound of fig crying on the balcony one night. a case of his half-asleep brain strikes again as he just wraps an arm around her and leads her back inside, and she doesnt drift asleep as easily as adaine, but it sure is a lot nicer crying when she feels safe and protected and loved

riz will often cuddle up in the crook of his legs, hell even his hoodie pocket if hes wearing it, on his chest if hes on his back for once but thats rare, sometimes hell turn it into a three person spooning by either being the little shrimp in the middle or hell hug gorgug like a backpack and be on the other end

kristen rarely partakes in the spooning, but she has convinced gorgug to little spoon a couple times. he doesnt like little spooning *as* much, but its not like hes going to say no to properly cuddling with his friend who usually just flops across the others like a blanket, plus it honestly probably kickstarts whatever gender stuff hes got going on in there; little spooning will do that to a guy. kristen does like big spooning, but her preferred cuddle method is definitely still just laying on top of everyone and using them as pillows

fabian took a while to come around to the idea, but eventually gives in once all the other bad kids start talking about how nice it is. he is asleep within seconds. he wakes up better rested than he has felt in forever. this is nothing on how secure he started feeling in his friendships when he realized casual platonic affection like hugging and cuddling was. like. Fine, actually. this did wonders for his mental health. he also likes to big spoon though! it just. makes him feel like hes doing something. like hes protecting someone, even if hes just going to bed.

anyways this is my personal take on the bad kids(specifically gorgug) and their sleepover arrangements. join the gorgug spooning agenda ! we have breadsticks and cuddle piles !

The bad kids dont really have a SET arangement for sleeping, so its often an absoloute chaos of limbs and pillows as everyone tries to get settled for the night.

Gorgug is most often in the centre though, because he can act as a buffer to everyone else, but it means that if you're within arms reach while he's half-asleep you're GOING to get grabbed and cuddled. Everyone has accepted it at this point, because getting spooned is a better alternative than Gorgug raging in his sleep (holding someone keeps his heart rate down, so they've never had any issues of him flipping out in his sleep like he does when he's alone).

Other than Fig he also runs the hottest out of everyone else so in winter he's a fantastic heated and weighted blanket for whoever gets grabbed that night. In summer though he has to sleep on his back with his friends just leaning against his sides, lest he accidentally cook someone in their sleep.

i want to share my future bad kids bc that i came up with for a fic. i love them dearly. Below the cut bc its so long.

Adaine goes to Fallinel for a while and goes into politics after college, but after quite a few years of working her ass off to fix the country, she leaves because Jawbone’s lycanthropy becomes very difficult for him to live alone. He has Sandra Lynn but they’re both getting old and he’s sick. She comes home for him, takes a job as the divination teacher at Augefort, and settles back into Elmville peacefully. I also think she dates a hell of a lot and I hc pan Adaine. I feel like with immortality, sexuality becomes pretty fluid, and Adaine very much leans into that. When she moves back to Elmville, she puts dating on pause and just teaches and cares for Jawbone (the principal of Augefort).

Fig and Ayda tour together for years. Fig loves playing and she never wants to stop. Not even when in their 30’s, Ayda decides she wants to settle down. They break up pretty amicably and Fig tours for a long time afterwards. She slows down when she hits her 40s and ends up living in Bastion City, still a rock star, but she doesn't tour quite so often or go quite so far, but she never quite stops. She's happy, and pulls tons of chicks when she wants to, but doesn't really date seriously? Even in her 40s, she's so young for an archdevil. Her friends have decades, she has centuries. She lives her young soul life for a long ass time.

Kristen spreads the gospel of Cassandra for a long time. She leaves the party to run the church and just gets too busy to continue the frequent traveling. She gets married and divorced, has a couple kids, and lives in Bastion City. She has a very amicable tradeoff with the kids and shares custody but spends the majority of her time running the church. Her kids are sweet and loved, and so is she. Her life is mundane and easy now, which she learns to really love. She just settles down and learns to channel her chaos. She becomes a very great mom, pastor, and person, doing a lot of volunteer and outreach work, loving the world, her life, and her family. I think she ends up having a very serious long-term relationship but keeps her very separate from her kids. it's a quiet life.

Riz is absolutely an investigative reporter! Murph says this in one of his fireside chats, and I wholeheartedly agree! He leaves the party first because he didn't ever want the adventuring life, he wants the detective, crime-solving part of it. He goes to school and ends up with a law degree (bc he's just cool and would absolutely take lawyer classes to make sure he was able to cite laws) and a really badass job as a reporter, kicking ass and taking names, but with words as his weapon! He stays in Bastion City, makes friends, and just is happy. He doesn't get married or have kids, but he has so much platonic love and familial love! He's so happy and cool and very effective. He likes to enlist Adaine for arcane cases, and she definitely heads over every time and stays over in his apartment and they're super close. He's also super close with fabian, but their lives are so different that it's a different kind of closeness.

Gorgug's life is super chill and simple He doesn't marry Zelda bc they're children, but he does fall head-over-heels for a woman and gets married. He leaves because he suffers a pretty severe head injury, but also because his wife is pregnant! He has a son his parents are so sweet and excited. He's a tinkerer, but also a professor at Augefort! Zac said that Gorgug may help people who are multiclassing, and I like the idea that Jawbone opens a completely new section of the school that focuses specifically on multiclassing, and Gorgug teaches both barbarian and artificer classes! He really chills out and his rage is very rare and almost always in defense of his family. Chill, happy, relaxed Gorgug just vibes with me.

FABIAN! My favorite most hc. He's a dad. He has two daughters and they're his whole entire world. Leaving the party was absolutely not his choice, but he lost his leg in a brutal battle and his body no longer cooperates with the way he needs to move. He's got chronic pain and just can't adventure any longer, so he ends up moving to a seaside town and becoming a stay-at-home dad. At some point during his recovery, his first wife leaves him and the girls and Cathilda moves in. The girls call her their Dida and she's like their other grandma. He's a stay-at-home dad and loves it! He and Aelwyn reconnect as adults and end up getting married now that they're no longer so toxic in each other's lives, and Aelwyn is an absolutely amazing stepmom. She'd never imagined having her own kids, but she loves the girls so much and they're all so happy together. Aelwyn is still a researcher and an abjurative wizard, so he happily stays at home. They might have a mansion in the sky because it's a bit in one of the fireside chats and I love to commit to a bit. They're so cute! Domestic, toxic masculinity is dead, stay-at-home dad and his smart, hot, kind, caring wife.

Also, bonus one, I am so tempted to kill Gilear. A lot of my hcs are based on actual things the cast has said, and Brennan says, "As the person who plays Gilear, I'd like to see him dead in the fucking ground." I am not a Gilear lover, I find him funny and entertaining, but there is something about that sad elf man that makes me wanna kill him. Like if we were in Spyre and I knew Gilear, I might just kill him. Straight up. (Kidding, kidding. I wouldn't kill him, but in a campaign? I'd probably attack him for fun so often bc i wouldn't have Emily at my table.) If he doesn't end up just straight-up dead, he's vice principal. It's much better to have his ex-wife's new boyfriend as his boss for the rest of his sad little life. No happiness for him. I love Emily, I love Fig. Gilear? Dead to me.

Lets start off easy

Riz - as Murph has alluded to many times, I read Riz as Aro/Ace. I think that Riz would also try going on dates later in life and try it out. I think he would be the person to not realize he is confusing Platonic and Aesthetic attraction for love and use the identity of Demiromantic before realizing that he is aro/ace. I do think that somewhere in the future he will find a QPP and I don't think it will be with one of the badkids

Fig - Fig is not one to try to micro-label herself down. She has many different types of attraction and thus just labels herself as Queer.

Kristen - Lesbian. I do, however, headcanon that she realizes that she and Tracker are better off apart, and she goes back and has an actual conversation with Gertie and talks about how it was wrong to kiss her and use her and that if Gertie had her, she would like to start over again and go on an actual date. This, of course, is after a battle where both are bloody and are caring for each other's wounds.

Adaine - I think it takes Adaine the longest to explore her own sexuality, not in the fact she feels uncomfortable to do so but in the fact that she doesn't feel like she is ready to. It takes a long while after her parents and being adopted that she truly feels comfortable with herself. It doesn't help that Oisin, her first crush that we know about, hurt her too. From how much she has been in her own head about herself, I feel it's college where she experiments and gets a little reckless. She serial dates, hookups, and just lets go. After getting all of that out of her system, when she realizes what her best and worst relationships are, I think she realizes she is Demiromantic, Bisexual.

Fabian - He is the hardest. There is part of me that's like Fabian is so straight it hurts, but there is the part of me that's a Ragh Fabian shipper. I'd like to introduce you to Fabian, his girlfriend Mazey, and his boyfriend, Ragh. How does their relationship work you ask idk no one knows no one questions it. But they seem very happy Mazey and Ragh are besties.

Gorgug - This motherfucker is like, "Ah no, I don't want to see my swinger parents and their swinger friends" Anyways, Gorgug also doesn't really define his sexuality. He says it's "there" and is also a swinger like his parents. He is a construct fucker and a barbarian fucker I will not be taking notes

Ok so some people actually wanted to hear my thoughts on Aelywn and her platonic partners so I'm gonna talk about them because I really like this headcanon. I might turn it into a fic later or I'll just start adding it in with other fics. (Also this is based on my experience with my QPP so)

When Aelywn and Fabian broke up so they could work on finding something healthy for themselves Aelywn realized she didn't have many friends. Sure there were Adaine's friends but they weren't her friends.

Aelywn began to hang out with Ragh and Zayn more because she thought they were fun and liked their company.

Aelywn made a bunch of inside jokes with them and just ginuenly began to feel like part of a group. It was really nice. This was around the time she started to realize she might be aroace.

Aelywn was completely blindsided by the amount of love she felt for the boys. She was really happy when Ragh started dating Gorgug to form a poly relationship with him and Zelda. But her love for them felt strange.

She didn't tell them for a while. She kept her feelings to herself.

When she did have a sit down and talked to Zayn and Ragh about it, it was Zayn that brought up the idea of platonic partners. He described it as 'kissing and cuddling and all the stuff with having partners but no romantic feelings'

Aelywn really liked this idea and was so happy when it started because her boys were very loving in a way she realized she hadn't had before.

The first time she kissed one of them was Zayn. He kissed her because she was getting excited and rambling about something she was passionate about and he just did it.

Ragh was the first to say 'i love you'. He had talked to his partners and they were okay with his having a platonic partner, and he's been working on sharing emotions more. So when he was watching Aelywn cuddle up with him sleepily during movie night and was overwhelmed with the feeling of love and adoration it just slipped out.

How I feel about this character

I LOVE RIZ SO MUCH!!!! Just like Adaine is my me, Riz is also my me I’m just a little more ashamed about it. Riz is a rogue that has the morality of a paladin and I have to project on all paladin-like characters. It’s the law!! He’s so dorky and earnest and loves his friends so much and yeah. He’s good.

Only Fabian but that’s only because he has no romantic chemistry with anyone else LOL. I do actually think him and Fabian is a really good pairing but they just. They’re not like how fandom portrays them I really think they’re too repressed to do anything except hold hands and that might not even happen till the tail end of senior year.

ADAINE AND RIZ!!! I love them so much together whenever they’re together that’s just my brain, ADHD and anxiety egging each other on. The scene with them at the Owl and the Harp is so. Much. It’s so me. I think they’re like. Me and my best friend circa sophomore year except I’m the Riz in that dynamic . Knight4Knight but they’re platonic best friends is always a wonderful dynamic.

HE’S NOT BABY!!!! He shot a guy’s finger off and he respects women enough to shoot that dude’s finger off like he is near feral. Everytime I see people acting like he’s a Cute Teenage Angus Mcdonald I lose lifecells he is NOT like that at all.

Here she was. Kristen Applebees was at the door of Jawbone’s, and more importantly Tracker’s apartment. It wasn’t her first time at this apartment complex. Strongtower Luxury Apartments was already becoming the hangout spot for their adventuring party, but over the summer, when Adaine moved in with their guidance counselor and Kristen’s finally admitted crush, it was almost an unspoken rule that any time they were together not at school or off in a battle, their down time was spent in one of the three apartments in the complex. It was easy for Kristen, she had been living with Fig and Lunch Lad Gilear, and most of the time they would all gather in that apartment, but when Adaine moved in upstairs, the party was moved as well.

Here she was. Having spent the last hour and a half building up the courage, and almost throwing up from nerves twice, Kristen was here to talk to Tracker. She could do this. It’s normal. Kristen took a deep breath and knocked rapidly three times. The door swung open to reveal Jawbone, still with his glasses, but in some sweatpants and a loose T-shirt instead of his normal cardigan sweater and jeans.

“Hey Kristen,” Jawbone greeted her, “are you here to see Adaine? Or did you want some after school counseling?” He smiled at her kindly.

“Um, actually,” Kristen started, her voice a bit more nervous than she hoped it sounded, “I’m uh...here to see if uh…Tracker is here?”

Jawbone’s smile got wider at Kristen’s inquiry, and nodded before calling over his shoulder into the apartment for his niece. Kristen quickly fidgeting with her hair, trying to smooth it, adjusting her shirt as well. This was it.

Tracker appeared in the doorway with a surprised grin on her face. Her hair was a bit longer than Kristen remembered it, as though it needed to be shaved again. “Hey Kristen. What’s up?”

“Not much.” Kristen instinctively answered.

Tracker nodded slowly, as though with great insight. “Do you want to come inside?”

Kristen shook her head shortly. “No I’m good. This...this isn’t going to take long. Ah-I uh, I just wanted to tell you that,” Kristen barked out a laugh before continuing, “uh, I’m gay.”

Tracker smirked, her eyebrows going to her hairline. “Really?”

Kristen nodded. “Also, I really like you. And not in a platonic, I want to be your friend way. It’s in a I want to kiss you and hold you when we sleep kind of way.” Kristen waited for a response, and after not getting any, turned to leave, not wanting to deal with the rejection of her first real crush in front of said crush.

A hand caught Kristen’s upper arm. “Wait.” Kristen turned back to look at Tracker, wide eyed and grinning with full teeth. “You want to kiss me?”

Kristen nodded. “Yeah I do.” Tracker gave her arm a gentle tug, leading her in the apartment, closing the door so there were only a few inches between them. “I don’t know how to kiss, so do you mind kissing me first?”

Tracker whispered a laugh before leaning in and giving Kristen a gentle kiss. Tracker pulled back to look at Kristen before Kristen raised a hand to the back of Tracker’s head and pulled her back in for more.

They came up for air when they heard applause and cheers from the left of them. In the living room, sitting on the couch was Fig, with Adaine laying her head on a pillow on her lap, Riz and Fabian on the other side of the couch and adjacent chair, all applauding.

Fig whomped her fist in the air at the two girls. “Yay. Finally you two are together.”

Kristen’s cheeks reddened as she realized that her entire friend group just witnessed an intimate moment of her life. “Uh...we just, nothing’s happening here.”

Tracker raised an eyebrow at Kristen. “Nothing, huh?”

“Well-ah-not nothing-you know,” Kristen stammered, not knowing how to salvage the moment. Kristen glances at her friends for help before trying to change the conversation. “Uh, where’s Gorgug?”

Fig shrugged. “He’s out with Zelda.”

Fabian scoffed. “I don’t see how Gorgug is on another date. He can’t flirt.”

“I think that’s why it works. They both are like that.” Adaine added.

Tracker put her other hand on Kristen’s shoulder, guiding her attention back to her. “If you ever need me to show you how to do other things,” she whispered, “I’ll be more than glad to help you out.”

Kristen was sure she would have rose-tinged cheeks for the rest of her life. “I would like that.”

oh my GOD the new ep!!!! like!!!!!!!!! SO MUCH happened but then also the preview for the next ep looks SO GOOD

**spoilers for first kisses and last words**

Hoo boy this was, as I predicted, a BIG one. Not that I needed to be an oracle to figure that out since there’s only a few eps left but man did it deliver.

I still think that Cool Kids, Cold Case had the most off the wall nonsense happening in the shortest period of time but this ep I think was overall the most consistently wild ep.

So let’s take it from the top.

I think I forgot to mention it before but Adaine’s, “I go into a rage,” hardcore cracked me up.

“I have hold person.”/”I stuff a sock in her mouth.” Insult to injury Adaine. 

The entire group dunking on Aelwen, forgetting that Riz is literally bleeding out, half dead.

Adaine really was dead serious about her snitching threat huh?

Ally miming a boom mic.

I love how everyone including Siobhan mess up Aelwen’s name or mix it up with Adaine’s half the time.

And speaking of, wow. What a rise and fall for her in 3 eps (and about an hour in game time). She’s queen of the nerds. She’s not even cool at her own school. And terrified of whoever she made whatever shady deal with. I know she literally tried to kill the whole party last ep and that she’s the worst but I almost feel for her.

Almost.

“This is not on you. This is on the world within which you inhabit.”

I love Adaine’s semi-indigent, “We’re not going to kill you,” because Alwen was 100% ready to murder them which, side note, imagine how much on an international incident that would have been.

Lol at the group tag team bullying Aelwen about going to Mumple and Adaine using her magic jacket for super petty BS.

“Hey mom!”/”GodDAMMIT honey.”

The parent/kid relationships are so good in this show.

Everyone but Kristen parkouring off the roof when Sklonda specifically set up a ladder. 

“The put a girl in a palimpsest,” followed immediately by, “She went to a party,” as if those are on the same level.

Sklonda Gukgak DUNKING Aelwen into the squad car with a technical assist from Adaine. I knew she was gonna be my fave parent from her intro scene and I love her even more than I thought.

“With all due respect, (A/N: Which is none), suck my dick, fuck you.”

“She tried to murder me.”/”BE THAT AS IT IS.”

“Eh, you carry a gun.”

“No one who’s detecting maidens is a maiden.”

I feel like I’m quoting a lot today but there were so many money lines this episode. 

Everyone always loses it when Brennan starts doing the Identify spell voice and I love it. 

Adaine’s dad is T R A S H

Adaine’s mom on the other hand…I’ve been wondering about her for a little while because usually the outright emotional abuse has been from her dad while her mom is either not there or not saying anything. So I’ve been wondering was her deal is and we finally got the start of an answer. I know we only have a few eps left but I hope we go a little deeper into what exactly is going on there. It seems like Adaine’s parents are gonna be a big factor in whatever endgame is planned so fingers crossed,

Everyone cracking up as Emily backs Fig into a corner talking to Penelope. 

I love Gorgug so freaking much. Just his good natured, lumbering self. EVery time Zac opens his mouth gold falls out.

I think Siobhan must have forgotten that she took the crystal with Ostentasia away from Aelwen at the end of last ep. Either that or they willingly gave it to the cops and I forgot (but I think it’s the former because she said in this ep that it was in Aelwen’s pocket when at the end of the last ep she def took it).

My autocorrect keeps wanting me to type Ellen for Aelwen. I WISH.

I knew it! He’s a PIRATE. Suck it Fabian. (lol at Adaine stirring the pot. That was like Adaine being sincerely polite and Siobhan trying to cause problems and I love mixed motive player/character decisions). 

I wonder if the banker is named after John Hughes. 

I can’t believe the dumb bank is actually a huge plot point.

Yikes, re: Bill and Fabian. That got tense. Though I’ve kinda been waiting for some kind of blowout for a while. His dad runs very hot and cold and I figured it would only be a matter of time before we saw some of the cold.

Also, Lou breaking character in the middle of that very intense moment to clarify a plot point. 

Sidenote: For a hot sec after reading the title of the ep and remembering how Sklonda is competent to the point of (probably) breaking the original plot, I was so concerned she was gonna eat it this ep. So glad she didn’t.

Anyway, the idea of swinging sadly on a rope is so freaking funny.

Adaine is gonna bring up him kissing her sister very time she needs to get out of something w/ Fabian for the rest of her immortal life. 

Another sidenote: This is a little thing but I always think it’s interesting when fantasy worlds have the same months and days as us when they’re named after like Norse Gods and Roman statesmen that wouldn’t exist in their world. Same with Roman numerals and Irish coffee. 

“Am I allowed to smoke in here?”/”Of course.”

I really like the character detail that Adaine is always really polite to everyone, including/especially people like Fabian’s maid and Basrar. People that she wouldn’t necessarily “have to” be polite to, you know? It’s like she’s trying to make up for the fact that her family is a bag of dicks. 

“Fantasy Google”

The whole bit with Fabian’s porn stash was so good. This group is so good w/ yes-adning each other.

“Privateer me a new one.” Emily is so good.

“Special investment” Suspicious  

I was thinking “I can’t believe looking at a bank’s FAQs is part of this game,” right as Brennan said it.

So I went back and watched Siobhan’s face from when Emily first mentioned Kal Vaxis to when she got the connection to KVX and it took her 22 seconds. I also missed the quick cut to Brennan when Gorgug asks, “What is Kal Vaxis,” and you can tell he knows they’re so close to breaking it with the little grin on his face. I wish we had gotten a reaction shot right after she got it. Anyway, great team solve w/ the MVP trophy to Siobhan/Adaine. 

I loved when Zac, Emily, and Siobhan all whipped out their laminated maps in tandem to figure out what was happening. 

The hard mood change from Adaine dropping the bomb about Riz’s dad and to forming a committee to help Gorgug flirt with Zelda was wild.

Kristen telling anyone to be suave is hysterical. 

What a DISASTER of a committee Gorgug’s friends are. Well meaning but so trash

Fig: Tell her you got a SICK tattoo

Adaine: Bring her to see art in the middle of the night

Fabian: You cannot date this person (Kristen: You absolutely have to)

Kristen: Actually not garbage advice but she is in no position to be giving dating advice to anyone 

Riz: Having a literal existential crisis 

“Who else is he gonna date?” WOW, savage Adaine.

I meant to say this before but I love how Adaine’s go-to is immediately ice cream and she’s always on board to go to Basrar’s. Like how when she texted everyone 2 eps ago she was like, “Let’s get ice cream now.”

Mmm, don’t love that Gorthalax isn’t answering his phone. I have been waiting for a significant adult to die for a while now.

OK, look, the whole thing about Penelope and Dayne being eternal prom king/queen. Is it wild? Yes. Is it implausible? No. No it’s not. Even Murph, most veteran player, was kind of like, “Wait, does that make sense?” Because, in this setting, it kind of would? I’m not sure it fits within the story so far and I’d have to go back and listen to the more lore-y stuff again but the conceit itself is like the exact right amount of crazy to fit in this setting? And they never cut to Brennan like I wanted so I could judge his face for any kind of tell. But anyway, you guys know I’ve been predicting a prom finale and this would fit right into a prom finale.

Zelda’s a BARBARIAN! She’s a MEGA BARBARIAN! 

I know they mean ecstasy like intense emotion but I kept thinking, like, molly.

Hmm, so Penelope wanted to know if Zelda had hooked up w/ Gorgug, ie: if she was a maiden. Can they only palimpsest maidens? Or (as we will get to later) does nice guy Biz only want virginal maidens for his creepy reverse Weird Science arcade setup?

Zelda listing off every type of metal and then Gorgug’s, “Same stuff,” was perfect comic timing on Zac’s part.

Imagine the Hangman screaming down the road on fire, Zelda completely terrified. 

I love the Hangman so freaking much.

“DO NOT GIVE TREATS TO MY MOTORCYCLE.”

I can’t believe everyone is living at the freaking crappy apartments. I knew they were all gonna end up hanging at one persons’ house but I kinda figured it would be Fabian’s house or Gorgug’s house. 

I”m also concerned about Bill. I feel like we keep getting reminded that he’s mortal a LOT.

Did Gorgug’s parents have indoor fireworks on tap for Gorgug’s first date?

Oh my God the whole docking conversation. Never play chicken with Brennan because the dude will not blink.

“We didn’t do that.” That’s his other best comic timing moment of the ep.

I really wish they’d made the roll to find Ragh later in the ep. Fig is so ride or die for Gilear now and I love it.

“I fall asleep.”

Adaine almost making her parents dunk on Gilear but then pulling back.

But also, Adaine and Gilear going off the the oracle together.

“Fig pack it in.”

Affirmations with Fig and Gilear.

Fig, do you really think platonically cuddling with Kristen is the move?

Riz setting himself up for a dramatic entrance is so fantastic.

Hmm, so Biz and Zayne were attacked at the same time. That’s why that cold pill detail was in there way back. I’ve been trying to figure out what was always planned and what was quick re-working but Brennan is so good I can never really tell.

Are multiple unrelated groups just getting into palimpsests at the same time? Or mostly unrelated groups tied to one person?

“We are not gonna get our security deposit back.”

RIZ’S DAD IS JAMES BOND! YES! I didn’t know I wanted that to be the case until it happened and now that’s the only acceptable option. 

Riz didn’t get the 20′s he needed when fighting Aelwen but man he got it at the best story moment this week.

“Mom our family is so awesome Mom we’re all so badass, I thought it was just us but Dad is awesome too, why didn’t you tell me Mom?”

Sklonda: Internally screaming.

Why are all the adults in Gorgug’s life trying to get him laid?

OK so the elementals were conjured by Aelwn’s magic Brennan said. He said by Aelwen’s magic, not by Aelwen. I wonder if that turn of phrase was specific or arbitrary. Like, we were told where Aelwen is but we don’t know. Was she forced to do it (either by threat or by magic)? Clearly someone (Biz?) is pulling her strings to at least some degree. 

“It’s probably about marriage.” “WAR HAS BEEN DECLARED.”

That happened fast

OK so did the Elves get Aelwen back but also go, “But you still need to go to jail.” Because they cut Brennan off before the end of that sentence which might have had more clues in it.

AHHHHHH BIZ

As I said in an earlier conversation s/o to Adaine for DUNKING on him at every opportunity because he DESERVED IT. Also, her instincts for who sucks in this game have been spot on.

Another s/o to Riz for having the presence of mind to not pull a Star Lord and to pretend to be on the bad dude’s side for long enough to gain some kind of upper hand.

OK, wow was not expecting that twist. I feel like I need to go back and rewatch some stuff to get a better handle of the timeline and stuff. Like, when exactly did the girls start going missing again? And what year is Biz? Has he been masterminding this whole thing? I feel like no but I feel like he’s masterminding his own thing which happens to a puzzle piece in something bigger? BUT IT’S A PRETTY DAMN BIG PIECE. Who opened the new arcade? Is it connected to the bank?  How did Biz get involved? Who’s his supplier? Did someone hook up Biz, Daybreak, Penelope, and Aelwen with Palimpsests to do their own separate things, hoping that at least one of them would succeed which would somehow be good for the mystery person? I am so excited to find out and I really hope Brennan and the cast do a Q+A sesh after S1 is over to hash some stuff out.

Theme-wise, this is the fight ep I’m most excited for. It seems rad as hell.

All that yelling in the promo for next week. Either the raddest thing possible happened or there was a TPK. There is no other option.

Wow, that was a stellar ep and this is a really long post. I really can’t wait for next week’s!

Edit: I meant to say before, is Penelope’s FB album like…a hit list? Like does whoever’s doing the actual dirty work (Biz? S/o else?) know that whoever she takes a picture with is who they should target?

Fig kisses Kristen at the end of the night because Kristen was next to her. This settles it for Fabian, who assumed they’re still on a triple date instead of a poly one and that he must be dating Adaine, so he dips Adaine and quite dramatically kisses her. It’s the first time either of them have kissed another human (Fabian practiced with his pillows) so it’s an absolute mess, especially because Adaine is so surprised that she doesn’t kiss him back. The group watches them for like a minute

It probably doesn’t help the awkward situation that Adaine was thinking that she was maybe dating Kristen at that point. So she is 1) blindsided by Fig’s betrayal and and 2) not paying attention to Fabian until he fully dips her.  (it’s funny to say they’re still in Skates even though it makes no logistical sense, so just imagine that… super funny right? they totally fall over, hahaha classic comedy. Okay, now accept that that’s not what happened and know they were probably out front of the skating rink that’s surrounded by like. strip malls made up of dance studios and a driving school and an insurance place and a Gas Station. Less funny? Yes. Based on a real place in my actual life? Yes. Would I like to go on a Roller Skating date, even though I’m bad at Roller Skating? Yes, someone date me.)

Adaine is stiff as a board, she just barely bends her knees to make sure she doesn’t fall and like. Fabian is an awful kisser. He seems to think it’s all based in the noise? The ‘mwah’ noise? Adain’s been kissed before, alright? It was once in sixth grade behind some bleachers, but it was nice. It was a functional kiss. Fabian’s kiss. is not. 

When he tilts her upright she almost looks pensive. She hasn’t even processed what just happened, her eyes actually lock on Fig, Kristen, and Riz, who is standing next to them, all looking confused. 

“So…” Gorgug says, from where he’s awkwardly shuffling from foot to foot. “Fig, you were on a date with Kristen, and Fabian was with Adain. Does that mean Riz and I are dating? Riz, did you know we were dating?” He stammered out. 

Fig looked offended. “You don’t have to date anyone. But like, we’re all basically dating eachother, some of us platonically, anyway, so I skipped the figuring that out phase. I’m dating all of you who want to be dating me. Obviously.”

There was a pause, then everyone let out a noise of understanding. 

“You didn’t think to let us know?” Adaine asked, feeling very on edge, very short of breath.

“Yeah, because I’ve been confused this whole time.” Kristen replies with a miffed laugh. “also, I’m pretty gay. Like, maybe not totally gay, I don’t know yet, but pretty gay.”

“that’s fine. Polyamorus relationships are not bound by traditional hegemonic  relationship ideas, like all partners being romantic with all partners.” Fig said with a shrug. Adaine could just… tell that she was parroting what she’d read online about it. It didn’t make it less true, but it was… a very Fig thing to do. 

“So I’m not on a date with Adaine?” Fabian asked, hands going to his hips.

“I mean if you both want to be.” Fig replied. “I was vibing with Kristen all night so I kissed her.”

“I’m not…” Adaine started. “Against dating you, but you really gotta work on your skills, man.” she said, head shaking a little. 

Fabian looked insulted, but before he could talk, Riz spoke up. “Uh, how do I fit into this?” He asked, shifting from foot to foot. 

Fig looked at him, confusion clear on her face. As she spoke Adaine subtly focused on counting her fingers at her side. She didn’t think she was going to have a panic attack, but there was a lot happening all at once. 

“You fit in right where you are.” Fig said. “With us. Or not if you don’t want, but… I mean, I hope you want. You too Gorgug.” she said, glancing at him. 

Gorgug looked at her, then nodded. “I think I’m good with that.” he said. “I mean, I have questions, but….”

“Okay, cool but, like…” Riz cut in, head shaking. “I know I’m not… Look, I’m the Ball I’m not anyone’s romantic ideal here.” He said, arms flapping a bit at his sides. 

“Oh, for Fucks sake,” Adaine looked over as Fabian crossed, and dipped Riz in the same dramatic fashion. 

As he went to kiss him she muttered, “move your lips or something,” to him, hoping to help the situation. 

Riz looked dumbstruck when he pulled away. A stupid smile slowly pulled across his lips as Fabian pulled him back upright. “Alright.” He said, seeming amped up. “Alright, cool, great, alright.” He said, turning to walk off the way they’d been headed. “This is great.”

Kristen watched him a second, as the rest of the group sans her and Adaine moved to catch up. “I know That Fig didn’t give him bardic inspiration, but I think he’s pretty inspired.” 

Adaine looked over at her and smiled a little. “Yeah.” She said. 

They started to walk after them, and Kristen cleared her throat. “Uh, since Fig is bad at defining terms, do you uh, wanna date me. I think I’m also dating Fig which is, cool, really, but just for the record.”

Adaine took Krsitens hand, and nodded. “Yeah. I’d like that. I also think I’m dating Fabian, which, is cool, if it’s cool with you.”

“Yeah, of course. I think Fig wants to date you anyway, so…” 

Adaine can’t help but start to laugh, which sets Kristen off. They catch up to the rest of the group, laughing, leaning on eachother, happy.
