It became known that MC was a force to be reconned with, when the prince of the Devildom sought out and valued their input. Diavolo doesn't bat an eye at pausing a meeting to call on MC, over the phone or in person, and he will take their words into careful consideration when making any sort of decision.

"It's very bright. Might suit the conservatory hall."

It's Lucifer who arches a brow at it at first, in the early days. Prince of the Devildom, taking advice from a lowly human? That would certainly put the house of lords on edge.

Diavolo didn't stop though, and the things he asked MC's opinion on grew less and less minial.

"This is a complex matter...Lucifer, would you have Mammon bring MC here after class? I would love to hear their take on this."

"Young Master, this is a rather more serious matter than where to hang a new painting." Barbatos remarked. True, it's not the biggest issue sitting on Diavolo's desk right now, but it's no small thing either. Deciding where to invest RAD's extra funding isn't something one would think to involve the new exchange student in.

"Precisely why I would like their opinion, Barbatos!" Diavolo beamed adamantly, he would not think on it again and Mammon brought MC over, their pact still fresh.

Diavolo did not comment on that fresh mark, merely slid the necessary information across his desk, inviting MC to read it as he explained the finer points.

Lucifer and Barbatos watched on sceptically. What could this magic-less human possibly contribute to the conversation other than what they already know?

The eldest brother is rather surprised that MC takes it so seriously, granting Diavolo their undivided attention and asking follow up questions to make sure they fully understand what he's asking.

"Maybe send out a poll to the different clubs, see if they have any common needs? If I had to guess I'd suggest the common areas regularly used for club events, someone hosted a party in the cafeteria last week, can't be ideal."

Lucifer shared a look with Barbatos as the human spoke. How was that actually a good idea?

"And if they don't have any common issues?" Barbatos prompted.

MC shrugged. "Transport lines in and out of the Academy? One of my professors was complaining about it this morning."

Diavolo's face lit up. "Both excellent suggestions, MC! Thank you for your input, you're as observant as always."

The first demon not to underestimate them, wasn't actually Mammon, or any of his brothers, but the demon prince.

The Prince, who saw how observant, how kind they could be and invited them to be in the Devildom and see it not just as a temporary Passover, but as a home.

seriously though from my experience dealing with other rich middle aged men I can tell you this right here, what we are witnessing right now, is the root of much evil in the world.

guys like Matt own and run everything that's privatized and larger than a certain level of scale. these guys get put in a steel tunnel from childhood onward into this weird little knotted ball of insecurity and entitlement, with no time spent during their youth in developing any interpersonal skills at all that aren't "talking slightly too loudly at a corporate party". I've worked as a domme, and a ton of these guys start hiring dominatrices when they get to Matt's age because they're unable to maintain anyone's attention without paying for it anyway and are so crippled with insecurity they can't be honest with women in their lives if they have any. this doesn't help them much because inauthentic human connection makes things worse. exposing even mild, normalized fetishes make them shut down and lash out, but it's not just a sex thing, it's their whole lives. I've watched so many of them hit their 40s, have a bunch of money and a little power, and realize all the poor degenerates they've spent their lives treating like a spectacle or a fantasy are the ones actually having fun, and who other people actually enjoy spending time around. this is pure speculation on my part, idk anything about his personal life and am not trying to find out. the posts are enough to diagnose a dozen extremely pressing problems he will have to painstakingly deconstruct in $10,000 Ayahuasca retreats to get anywhere.

and I wouldn't be so critical about their personal failings as a class of people if they didn't make those failings everyone else's problem. they are fully aware they are fucking up but have always been able to get immediate gratification by standing still and screaming until someone brings them exactly what they need. they know they could use their money to put people in houses or feed them, they deal with this by just not thinking about it. no one has ever genuinely liked them and they're aware of this, often including their own parents. they are frustrated with women. they have zero creative outlets and no skills. even if they have relationships they don't fall in love or experience limerance. all they do is make money or handle money, they are incapable of performing real labor and are alienated from the concept of labor itself so they invent weird orthorexias and compulsive exercise schedules to feel like they're performing labor. a lot of them develop substance problems because it alleviates some of the crippling inhibition and self doubt, but that causes more problems. some of them are narcissists or sociopaths which helps them cope with the extreme isolation but a lot of them arent, and just constantly afflicted with the same problems people get in solitary confinement or being the pariah at a high school. any of them could opt out of all this crap at any time and simply choose not to. these guys are ruining everything.

AN: I got scheduled to work closing shifts and wrote this to wind down for the night! I have a longer, more interesting piece coming soon!!! Ep 3 broke my heart for Jordan I want them to be happy.

You pull your hand out of Jordan's hair to grab your highlighter for a passage in Deeper. Satisfied with the yellow splotch you made on the page you cap your highlighter and bring your hand back down. The angle is awkward for you though. Your back is resting on Jordan's headboard and your legs are splayed to accommodate Jordan resting against you. Their back is pressed against your stomach, slouching because of the support you provide. Property Brothers play on their laptop for the two of you. 

You’re not really watching, just happy to spend time with them and try to get caught up on your class readings.

“Babe, are you even seeing this floorplan?” Jordan asks. 

You tear your eyes from your book for a second, just enough to see the camera switch from the spare bedroom to the loft. 

“Yeah, it's something.” you say, trying to find your spot on the page instead of caring about the plans for an entertainment station on the upper floor of the house. 

“It’s shit. Wait, are you even watching?”

“Mhmm.” you hum in response, removing your hand from their hair again to flip the page. 

You barely feel Jordan lean their head fully against your chest. What you do feel is them twisting your wrist holding The Deep’s autobiography. You slide your thumb between the pages to keep your spot so you can give all your attention to Jordan. 

“You’re seriously reading that?” 

“It’s homework.” you reply. 

“For an acting class.” They shoot back. 

“It’s actually a class on coming back from a setback in media.” you correct. 

“I don’t know why you're even taking it,” they say, pressing the space bar of their laptop to play the show, relaxing against you once again.

“I needed an extra credit. My courses got fucked last year because someone didn't want me in Brink’s class.” You both know you’re talking about Jordan but you don’t have any venom in your words. 

There’s also no venom in the middle finger Jordan flips you, their eyes still trained on the laptop. You huff out a laugh and bend forward to kiss their hair. 

“You’re so fucking rude.” you laugh.

“You love it." 

You do, probably more than they know.

Difference between a good father and a bad father

(This is mainly for folks who have at least watched Soul Eater. In case you didn't and you don't know who the red-haired man is below, his name is Spirit Albarn, a character in the series. He, like Stolas, is a divorced father. He cheated on his wife not once, but multiple times and they separated cuz of it. It's because of this that the mother is not in her (ex)husband or daughter's life and the said daughter did not have a good relationship with her father. I guess you can say his situation is a little similar to Stolas. Only difference is Spirit is a good father)

Similarities

They each have one daughter

Don't have the best relationship with their daughters

Reason(s) for said divorce: Cheating/Affair

Both are horny perverts that like to sleep around (though in Stola's case, he has eyes set for one person)

Both around 30 years old (not really the point of this post, but it's so much of a coincidence I wanted to point that out)

And now here are the differences (the best part of this post)!

Differences

Spirit:

Is actually trying to be a good dad.

Is in his daughter's life and makes it his goal to have a good relationship with her.

Is much happier spending time with his daughter than anyone or even any woman.

Pays attention to his daughter and will be quick to be there for her when he feels she needs help, which is nearly in any case.

Won't hesitate to protect when she's in danger. Only reason why he can't is because . . . plot?

Doesn't make excuses for his actions.

Wouldn't gaslight anyone just to avoid being at fault.

Is regretful of his actions and probably wishes he could fix things, however, there's nothing he can do about it.

Still loves his ex (or so he claims) despite everything and like I said, probably wants to fix things with her, but as far as I'm concerned, she's simply DONE with him (she doesn't even make an appearance in the anime). The best that he can do is move on and focus on his daughter. He still would make passes at women, which was what got him divorced in the first place, but the way I see it, this is his way of trying to move on if they can't work anything out (not to condone that, ust saying). But we're not talking about him being a terrible husband here.

Stolas:

Despite caring about his daughter, he DOES NOT pay attention to her as often as he would think or we would hope. Neglecting her if you will.

Flirts with his sex target in front of his daughter which is very inappropriate. Spirit kinda did that a couple of times too, tho it was unintentional on his part, at least most of the time. In Stolas's case, he did it while fully aware of Octavia's presence and didn't even consider the fact that she didn't want to see it.

Makes excuses for his actions. Regardless if his reasons for it were true, it doesn't justify his them and with the way the show comes off, it makes it seem like they want us to justify the affair.

Not ONCE do we hear him apologize to Octavia for his actions or behavior. If he did apologize, it wasn't a full apology. In fact, Octavia was the one to apologize to him even though she didn't need too.

Between searching for his daughter when she is lost and hanging out with Blitzo, worried about what he's got going on, he goes for the latter, once again, being neglectful.

Not to say Spirit doesn't have his own flaws in being a father, but if Maka (Spirit's daughter) were to look at the dynamic between Octavia and Stolas, I'm sure she'd appreciate Spirit a little more. He may be a horndog, but at least in his case, his daughter ALWAYS comes first. Seriously, no way he would ever choose some woman he barely knows over his daughter.

I can't begin to describe to you all how AMAZING this feels!

I've spent the past 2 years on what felt like a wild goose chase, desperately searching for this one comic that I wasn't even sure existed.

This all started with me finding a photo on Tumblr of this comic and spiraling into this deep dive. First I didn't know if this was even real, then I found out that this comic series had ceased printing, then I couldn't be sure which book it was actually in.

There is literally almost no information out there about the fourth volume of this anthology series. I've said this before and I'll say it again, volumes 1 and 2 both have full translations that you can download off of other websites, and while 3 doesn't seem to have that, there are a lot of separately translated comics floating around out there, namely on Pinterest.

The 4th volume had NOTHING! No matter how hard I searched or how many links I clicked, no one has really said ANYTHING about this book, which was why this specific comic was so hard for me to find.

But I have all of the books now, so I definitely want to do this again for all of them so that people have easy access to these translations. I'll start with book 4 though haha.

Also, I'm not sure who it was, but HUUUUGE thanks to the kind stranger on Ebay who was willing to sent me the whole series!! I literally don't know where I would be right now if these books weren't with me, so thank you <3

Also, thank you to all of my Japanese teachers that I've had throughout the years. If it weren't for them, I wouldn't have been able to understand the comic, haha! One even helped me out in the early stages of this process, so extra thanks to him <3

I feel really passionate about accessible media. I think that everyone should be able to read and find whatever they want. That's part of the reason that I've endeavored on this project. But, one day when maybe your friends are mentioning your age he looks at you a little shocked or confused. "You're 26/27??? Why didn't you tell me!?" Like bae,,,, you did!?!?😭 Had to show him the birth certificate and everythinggggg bro was baffled. Obviously don't think he cares that you're older he still loves you but you looked so young he kind of just assumed you were younger by him in some way. Still babies and takes care of you but calls you noona more often lolol. Definitely loves to wrap his arms around your waist and rest his head on top of yours because you may be older but you're still a little short to him🥲

It didn't fully process but after a few minutes he actually consciously processed it and turned to you, "HUH!? you're older than me?? Wahhh....really?" i absolutely adore your young sanji au!! If you don't mind, could you write more about him? Like, how did the other crews that know him react to his actual age? Or even some random interactions between the straw hats after finding out!

Young!Sanji!!! Ahh, lovely boy, precious and soft and absolutely hating everyone find out how old he actually is. He feels no one takes him seriously after they find out. They always falter and stumble and it just...doesn't feel good to him?

I feel like Law finding out would full on make him trip and face plant into the ground because Robin probably mentions it off handedly but knowingly. She knows Sanji doesn't like Law calling him Stealth Black and this seems to be the quickest way for her to stop it. Sanji is walking ahead of them to a tea house somewhere while they're in Wano. Like she specifically phrases it in a way to show how cruel Judge is and when Law full stumbles it makes Sanji look and ask what's wrong. Law is stumbling up onto his feet and is confused and asks Sanji if he's really /seventeen/ and Sanji says he is with a shrug. Law knows he's not the youngest on the crew but understands because of his love of the Sora comics that they were closer to the truth than he had realized, even after the raid suit. Germa was far worse than he knew to even its own children. When they're sat and drinking tea, Law can't help but ask why he is physically not seventeen. Sanji just goes 'ahaha, that's Germa for you' and Law is reeling that the cook is also a child on the crew. Law doesn't really change how he acts with the cook though, he doesn't see his age, only his accomplishments which are numerable even if he was twenty one, he just admires the guy more now.

Sanji is not pleased at how people keep trying to baby him after finding out how old he is and how his family is, the rescue team is especially bad. Chopper keeps asking for more and more check ups on him and Sanji is trying to just deal with it, Zoro seems to be holding back during their spars when he doesn't have to be, when they're out at a bar he keeps stealing Sanji's drinks even though he's not even buzzed yet and Zoro hates wine. Zoro, for the life of him he doesn't want to view the cook differently, but finding out about the experiments and how young Sanji was when he went through everything that led him to Zeff makes him softer. He fucking hates it but he feels like he needs to give the cook an actual chance at being a child that was denied to him. Even if he didn't get a chance he and the other kids at the dojo did play as well as train, especially when they were younger, before he left and he plays with Luffy and Chopper all the time. So when he assists Robin and Nami with the cook and making the guy take breaks. He's started doing the dishes fully on his own and shoving the cook out of the kitchen after meals.

I feel like when Zeff found out his kid wasn't ten, his kid is six and looks ten. Zeff frowns deeply at the boy who acts like a ten year old in a lot of ways, most ways, a fucked up and traumatized one albeit, but he's still ten. Except he's not and Sanji's age really shows when people flirt or try to take him to their ships for activities more fitting for an adult or teenager. Except he's not one of those, he's twelve when someone first propositions him and Zeff loses it at the customer and talks to Sanji about what they're doing, what people want from him and that he gets to decide if he wants to or not. Because Sanji is physically four years older than he actually is and Zeff wants to kill the fucking bastard that did this to the kid. Zeff knows his kid is younger than he looks but he treats the boy like how he holds himself, he's smart, impulsive, thinks he owes his life to Zeff when he doesn't. Goddammit Zeff wants him to act like a damn kid but the kid doesn't want to! Cate & Sam becoming radicalised makes the most sense. Out of the whole group, they are the two that have been the most manipulated and abused by humans so I don't necessarily fault them, I just hope they don't take it too far. The relationship between Shetty and Cate was heartbreaking to watch play out, because underneath all the manipulation there were genuine feelings and love for each-other there. That moment when Cate called Shetty 'Indira' I actually got chills. Personally, Cate & Sam becoming anti-heroes to the group is very interesting.

Marie & Jordan. I feel like... their scenes together were really cute, and the way Marie went after Jordan when he was pissed, and then they had that half-hearted standoff before Jordan started laughing and kissed her, gave a great insight into their whole relationship dynamic and had me giggling. I also loved their detective scenes. BUT it's frustrating that they haven't had an opportunity to talk about their feelings for each-other, or even acknowledge everything that's happened between them. I mean, I also get that a lot of things are happening and so maybe there just hasn't been the chance for them to talk it out - which, again, I guess is sort of realistic - I just think that you can't ask an audience to fully root for a couple when you don't show the moments that it takes for them to become a them if you get what I mean. I still 10000% love & root for them; they are still my main draw, and Jaz, Derek & London sell those scenes. But I need more...

I feel so bad for Marie. The way she had to relive that trauma of her mother dying and being unable to help. Jaz really acted out in the scene where she was literally begging Cate to be able to help Shetty. That was the only part where I kinda thought Cate was wrong; because out of everyone Marie was the person who was most open to giving her another chance, and then she goes and betrays her like that.

I also liked the dynamic between Neuman and Marie (I wonder if she is the one who is Marie's benefactor) but I'm not putting my trust in her because there's something about her that's kinda suspect. I will say that I liked how she handled Dr Cardosa; I cannot truly believe that he actually thought he was going to walk away from that encounter alive... like c'mon now. I wonder if Neuman will get rid of the virus though or keep it somewhere else???

I expected Shetty and Dr Cardosa to die but I didn't think it would happen in the penultimate episode. Which means that the finale is gonna go even more crazy, and I have strong suspicions that someone else from the main group is gonna die or be locked up. Regardless of what happens though, the dynamics are seriously about to be changed which is quite exciting.

I also dont know how our main gang can go back to that school knowing that it's whole foundation is false, and that they're actually test subjects. It feels like either way they can't win; either they drop out of the school and go the independent route in regards crime fighting, or they continue knowing that it's all a farce and every step that they take is orchestrated.

Sam loses another round of rock, paper, scissors and he loses it a bit, "How are you?" He shouts.

"You're actually a wizard Harry. Are you a wizard?" Sam leans close wanting an answer.

"I've been studying witchcraft." She plays along and gives him a look so he laughs.

"Rock, Paper, Scissors." Sam loses once again, "God Dang It!" He grabs her, "I'm gonna kill you." She laughs wrapping her arms around him before walking them over to his shot to take. "Next one, let's go. Let's get this over with."

"Are you gonna cry?" Dani laughs pointing at his glossy eyes.

"Rock, paper, scissors, shoot."

"Fuck you!" Sam flips her off as she cracks up. "How?" He didn't get it.

As Dani gets him another shot she changes the topic, "Are we sure Matt likes me too?" She looks over at him.

"100% positive." Once again another round of Sam losing makes him scream out, "What the hell? How Dani?" He walks to the other side of the hot tube.

"What if he's just a really good friend?" She stays on the topic so Sam walks back over to her.

"I will reach out to him right now and ask him till he gives me an answer." He tells her the pretends to call Matt on his imaginary phone, "You tell me right now if you have a crush on our girl Dani."

"Umm, let's not do that at all." Dani laughs before taking a shot herself just so Sam isn't left out. "Maybe I should keep my crush to myself."

"No, Dani, you should try to see. You really like him." He tries to help her get the courage to do so, "Or you can...be alone." He says going to sit on the steps.

"I'm just scared of fucking something up, you know?" She tells him and sees him start to fake cry, "Are you pouting because I might not do it?"

He looks over at her, "If you don't do it, I will hint at it." He smiles going up to her hugging her from behind poking her sides.

"No the hell you aren't Sam."

"Then you have to." He smiles leaning over her shoulder to smile at her.

"My weekend was good. Just hung out with Sam." Dani chills with Nick in her car.

"That's nice. I had to hear the two bicker all weekend." Nick tells her annoyed a bit with his brothers.

"Bicker about what?" Dani asks curious.

"Great... So thanks for telling me. So I am causing problems between them."

"Not necessarily. It's just, Matt thinks Chris will chicken out." He says confusing her.

"Chicken out on what?" She gives him a look, "Don't tell me he's gonna make a move!" She covers her face.

"So obviously you don't like him like that." Nick laughs at her reaction, "I finally know that now bitch." He laughs since she has never giving him any clues on if her like either Chris or Matt. "So what the hell are you gonna do if he does ask you out? Say no or twist it? Like say; I'm free to hangout."

"I hate how Sam and I didn't go over this scenario. All that talk about Matt for what." Dani says without realizing that she just slipped she liked Matt to Nick. Both say silent for a few seconds with Dani oblivious and Nick smiling at her before it hits her, "You didn't hear any of that come out of my mouth."

"It's not like I'm gonna say anything." He lets her know.

"No, no, I know you won't but I didn't want you to know."

Final actual thoughts on the Agatha All Along finale:

Good:

- Everything with Nicky. That flashback was really well done and the climatic building song at the end was just fantastic

- I had heard the "Billy is making the road" theory and am well aware it would make perfect sense with his character, but I never actually seriously believed it for some reason until the twist was happening and I was like "wait" lmao. So yeah, that was good and it fit a lot of things into place about Agatha's behaviour I should've honestly put together way sooner

- "Am I killing this boy so my brother can live!?" "Oh Billy, sometimes boys just die" bitch, I'm sobbing

Bad (personal opinion alert!!!!)

- Why is Agatha Billy's ghost sidekick now? Did they just wanna get rid of the threat she posed but keep Kathryn Hahn around?

- The emotional core of the show is the coven and their ties to each other, Rio included. This leads into a couple points:

1) I feel Rio could've been a bit softer to Alice. Even if she started off the interaction as cold, she could've had some warmness for her for even just a moment. More "like greeting an old friend" death than "cold unforgiving cruelty" death. Though Alice's death was supposed to represent the latter, so it works I guess (I am just in denial)

2) Agatha not caring about the rest of the coven members other than Billy right up to the end kind of breaks the illusion that the coven ever formed any real familial bond at all, which shits on the weight of Alice's and Lillia's deaths (and Lillia's whole arc), since they were about sacrificing themselves for the others. The road being a fabrication by Billy just made this feeling worse

- Rio and Agatha should've had some resolution, like??? The tension, as it's introduced to us, is that they both still love each other and are even good for each other. Rio had to fulfill her purpose even though she didn't want to, knowing she'd hurt Agatha. And Agatha hates her for it, despite knowing Rio had no say in the matter and even did her a great kindness letting Nicky stay for as long as he did. They have no reason to hate each other logically, only emotionally. Agatha was seemingly set up from the start to have to work through that grief, by the end of which the two could reconcile, and at that point Agatha could go to death willingly or whatever. But the show ended up not exploring this at all, portraying Rio as a kind of toxic ex out of nowhere in ep. 8, and Agatha's eventual kiss with Rio and subsequent death was fueled by an ultimatum rather than a fully free and intentional choice. And then Agatha dies and Rio doesn't even get to talk to her properly now that the tension is (maybe???) resolved (or maybe not considering it seems like ghost Agatha is still avoiding Rio). This was not a great character arc. And I can't help but feel a proper resolution wasn't reached—not because it was the best writing decision—but because she has to stick around as a ghost for a future show/movie and needs something to do

- I guess this kinda confirms Billy is both Billy and William? Like, I think it's sorta maybe implied Rio can't reap William's soul while Billy is in there, so he's sorta preventing both of them from dying? Or not? Idk?

Okay I didn't forget about the new lesson, but I played it last night so my memory's already fading lol.

There are a couple main things that I remember, though, so here they are.

First, I love Simeon.

Not you, too. First Solomon, then Diavolo, now Simeon is laughing about Lucifer being his usual self. Honestly.

However, I really loved this whole part. Simeon telling you to close your eyes and listen to your inner voice... and giving you advice about Lucifer, a being he's known for years upon years.

What a guy. He's pretty, he's smart, he's sweet, he's emotionally intelligent... what's not to love? I swear this fandom sleeps on this man.

Meanwhile, Lucifer's brothers are busy calling him out.

LOL. I just thought this was so funny.

Okay, let's talk Luci real quick.

He's so annoying to me, I'm really remembering why I went through my hating Lucifer phase. BUT to be clear, I don't hate him, I love him, but he's also annoying.

It's like he's playing a game of chess with MC. He wants to win, but he wants to outmaneuver everybody so that it looks like MC is the one who is winning. I didn't need Simeon to tell me that Lucifer is essentially using our own feelings against us, in an attempt to get what he wants, which is for us to stay with him.

It's like what Belphie did, but instead of trying to lock us up, he's playing mind games. It's because he has way too much pride to straight up say out loud to anyone that he doesn't want us to leave. So he has to go about it in a way that doesn't hurt his pride.

Because in the end, that's what his sin is, isn't it?

I'm not concerned. This is what we just went through with the other six, but Lucifer-flavored this time. And really, there's no way to fully depict the sin of pride without making it all about mind games, being in control, trying to get what you want without seeming like you need or want anyone else. Seems pretty clear to me.

So MC is just gonna set that guy straight and then he'll make a pact with us and then we'll see what happens after that.

HOWEVER I did find this part extremely interesting:

There are several posts making jokes about Chain, Peem, Pun, and Q's reaction to Tan calling Fang teerak despite Tan calling Fang his future boyfriend to their faces. Now, I know these posts are meant to be humorous, but I'll never stop dissecting We Are so allow me to provide a genuine explanation.

PART I - The Set-Up

First, we need to understand why the other four didn't bat an eye at Tan calling Fang his future boyfriend. Fortunately, the series shows us why they didn't react. It is episode five Tan proclaims Fang as his future boyfriend; however, it was episode four we were given the explanation for their lack of response.

In part three of episode four, Tan initiates a celebration with his friends in Peem's backyard. The people present are the Core Five high school friends (Chain, Peem, Pun, Q, and Tan) and Toey, who was invited by Peem. After some shenanigans, Tan announces to the group he initiated this celebration because he has a crush on someone and will tell them who it is once they start dating.

The crux of this moment is in the reaction of the other Core Five verses the reaction of Toey (the outsider). After Tan announces this, the rest of the Core Five are not amused. Peem and Q are visibly shaking their head in disbelief, Peem even grimacing, and you can see Chain look away and set his drink down in the corner. Peem even goes as far as to say "Is that it?".

This establishes something real quick: They are used to this type of announcement from Tan.

Toey isn't, as he is the resident outsider who was invited on a whim, which is why he seems confused and lost on why the others aren't providing their support. Fortunately, Q provides explanation.

Q: You've said something similar many times, but then you break up two months later.

Q states, clearly, that Tan is a player (which is ironic considering what is revealed about Q later in the show). Tan even confirms this when he points to a startled Chain, saying that he isn't as bad as him, and later proclaims "I swear, I'll quit being a playboy" when he tries to reassure his friends this time will be different.

Once again, Toey, as the outsider, is the only one to visually support him because the rest of the Core Five (who have been friends with Tan since high school) have heard this before. Although Peem seems to come around by the end, it is in a very jovial and teasing way which implies he might not fully believe Tan despite supporting him. Which, makes sense, if Tan dated so frequently that dating for only two months was a noticeable pattern.

Now, what about the festival?

PART II - The Loy Krathong Festival

In Episode Five, Tan introduces the rest of the Core Five to the Engineers and Fang. When he gets to Fang, he leans toward his friends and says Fang is his future boyfriend.

There is no reaction from the rest of the Core Five. The closest one to react to that proclamation is Peem, who looks back at his friends before he greets Fang formally as a senior; however, it could be argued this reaction is more at Fang being Phum's older brother. The second closest to a reaction is Chain, who seems to provide a slight smirk though it might just be the camera angle.

Now, remember what was established in episode four: The Core Five know Tan is a playboy, Tan even admitted to it, and don't seem to take his new crush seriously. They aren't reacting, because they aren't taking Tan seriously when he says he wants to date Fang.

Now, as much as I'd love to leave this part here.

PART III - We Are Has Problems

As much as I love We Are, it does have problems. The difference between We Are's problems and other series problems is We Are's problems happened due to external forces.

To put it simply, We Are was in production hell.

Now, you might believe I am referring to the scandal, but I'm actually referring to something I see continuously regurgitate. I am unsure if this is true, but from I've gleaned the director P'New wanted to make We Are for around five years but couldn't get the production off the ground. Naturally, this would lead to a lot of rewrites and refinement as he continuously work-shopped it (Please take that with a grain of salt as I struggle to find confirmation of these rumors).

The thing you can't take with a grain of salt is the scandal.

To make a long story short, Poon was let out of his glass case as a last minute recast for Pun. Any potential progress in development and production for the series had to be redone. Please remember the fault of this doesn't lie in the cast and crew, but the actor they had to replace. Regardless, Poon acted his little heart out and we are better off for having him in GMMTV's circuit.

The problem is production hell is still production hell, and if you compare We Are's announcement trailer with the offical trailer you'll notice it has significant story differences (mainly with QToey, but there are indications TanFang got minor changes). I have my own theories on how the re-shoots impacted ChainPun's storyline and screentime (since groupshots would have to prioritized above any duo or solo scenes which might have left some scenes cut).

That is great Calcium, you are probably thinking, but why are you go on a tangent about We Are's production?

Simple.

It caused narrative inconsistencies also known as plot holes.

Remember how I mentioned QToey's storyline seemed to completely change? Yeah, I mentioned that because in the same episode there is an major plot hole with the QToey storyline that isn't as easily ignorable as the TanFang one.

In Episode Five Part 4 of 4, Toey asks if anyone wants to a float a krathong with him. Besides Q and Toey, the characters that are present in the scene are Beer, Chain, Fang, Mick, Pun, and Tan. When Toey asks the question, the rest bully Q into floating one with Toey; however, they are react in a way that indicates they are aware of Toey's crush (pointedly looking and nodding their head towards Q).

Small problem, three of them don't learn Toey has a crush on Q until part three of episode six, and the one person who we can safely assume is aware of Toey's crush at that point (Matt) is absent!

Yet, Chain, Pun, and Tan react as if they are aware, but in the previously mentioned part three of episode six they are shocked to discover Toey's crush! Why, then, are they acting like they are aware and trying to push them together in part four of episode five? You can't even blame this on them potentially going along with Beer, Mick, and Fang's reactions (who might know about Toey's crush) because then it wouldn't make sense to have a pointed zoom on Chain and Pun's faces.

Fang isn't even subtle, he is staring directly at Q but I guess if anyone present would know it would be Fang, but it is implied that Toey disappeared after graduating high school and they officially reunite onscreen at the festival so at minimum Fang would know about the post-it notes but not who the post it notes belong to-

*deep breath*

The point is, Tan saying Fang is his future boyfriend out loud and the group still being shocked at the amusement park is a plot hole brought about by production shake ups.

Tan even says, explicitly, in episode four he won't tell his friends who the crush is until they are officially together. While TanFang get together in episode five, Tan tells his friends Fang is his crush before the actual confession scene. If that doesn't scream plot hole I don't know what else does.
