The fallout show isn’t NOT anticapitalist, but it’s anticapitalist in that way that a lot of recent media goes for, where it makes vague gestures towards ideas like ‘There Is Wealth Inequality, Perhaps’, or ‘maybe a few dozen people having more money than god Isn’t A Good Thing, Actually’. But ultimately it kinda just tiptoes around commenting on anything systemic by offloading the blame onto its shadowy cabal of the ultra-rich, and turning the wastelander underclass into a constant running joke that the audience is expected to laugh along at. Which like. Fine. That’s honestly more than I was expecting I guess. But bad-appling fallout feels like missing the point extra hard, given how much it absolves the US of its role in everything, up to and including literal nuclear armageddon

Just saw an AI art app advert that really made my hackles rise.

It was like "turn your child's drawings into artwork with one touch" and then clips of scanning like a kids drawing and it becoming like detailed/polished/whatever and like ...ew??!!

Celebrate your kids drawings for what they are and encourage them to have fun and make art that's truly their own.

Like if I drew something when I was little and my mum just put it through an AI scanner to make it 'proper' or 'real artwork' (esp if that AI one was printed or put on the fridge etc) I would be upset and draw less.

It feels like it's saying the kids stuff not art? Idk something about that and really got to me. Let kids drawings be and look like kids drawings.

Aw, I actually really love it! 🤭 I dress in lolita fashion and there's a concept called "twinning," when you and your friend(s) wear matching outfits. You can style the outfit exactly the same or a little bit differently, like with different colors of a particular dress or with different kinds of accessories. The general guideline for twinning in printed dresses is that the print will be the same, and dress type and/or color can vary! If it’s a solid dress, then generally it’s the color that can vary. Here's a variety of examples from Tokyo Fashion: one, two, three That has really affected how I view matching outfits outside of the subculture ngl, I just think it's fun! People should wear them all the time regardless of context!!!

I can't believe what just happened. I moved to dublin seven weeks ago and knew exactly one person here, my former colleague and neighbour who's lived here since last year. we talked briefly but didn't meet up or anything. or knew where we lived. well this evening when I was coming home from my little after-work trip to the sea we ran into each other at a tram stop waiting for the same tram!!! and not only that, but we were also getting off the tram at the same stop. the overall chance of randomly meeting the one person you know among a million is very, very, very low but this? especially since neither of us goes to the city centre often apparently? incredible
