Damn! Boruto's using Flying Thunder God Technique... So, it means he's taken almost all techniques from his relatives/ancestors.
They have given Hima only the Byakugan... Not surprised at all.

I LOVE your Sakura AU, thank you so much for making it šŸ„¹
Even though her ending is supposed to be ā€œgoodā€, I always thought that canon didnā€™t do her justice and threw any character development she had out of the window so she can be with Sasuke
I SO wanted her to finally move on and just let go
And I donā€™t have anything against Sasusaku
But I think itā€™d be much more beautiful if Sakura long let go of her feelings by the time Sasuke came to his senses and they developed their relationship TOGETHER from the START
And, once again, your work is AMAZING and I canā€™t wait for next pieces ā¤ļø
Btw, can I ask a question?) Will we see Narutoā€™s and Sasukeā€™s reaction to her condition (maybe flashback to before she left the village?), if not, can you please tell me a bit about it? I canā€™t imagine them to ignore her after the incident, especially considering that they are at fault as usual

Thank you so much for the kind words! I've also never been a fan of how Sakura ended up. I have no beef with SasuSaku, but my biggest issue was that we never saw Sasuke try to make up/connect with Sakura in the same way we saw him do with Naruto, so their romance in Boruto just felt so...abrupt?
As for what happens to Sakura and her friends....
Sasuke was essentially put on probation/jailed, but broke out and defected to Otogakure as canon. This devastates Sakura, as she's both in deep denial about his contribution to her injuries and also the fact that she basically threw herself in there for nothing. Kakashi shuts down completely. It's a nightmare replay of his own past, including the female team-mate being horrifically injured by the chidori. The guilt of everything is eating him alive so he basically withdraws into himself and uses her demotion to civilian status as a way to trick himself into thinking that if he just 'rips off the bandaid' and cut ties, she'll be able to move on more easily.
Naruto is the only person who is really able/willing to face justice. After the incident, he was basically also put on probation/awaiting trial but busted himself out to join Jiraya.
So for context, Sakura got clapped hard by the Rasengan/Chidori combo (hearing gone, nerve damage, eyes shot etc) and basically had to be put in a coma to try and stop the damage from getting worse, but unfortunately none of the medics in Konoha had the ability to reverse anything but the most superficial damage. So Naruto joined Jiraya in an attempt to find and bring the only person in the world who could give Sakura a sliver of hope.
I felt like this worked well with canon and the desperation to get Tsunade to be hokage and Naruto basically begged her on his hands and knees to help Sakura. Tsunade made it there in the nick of time managed to save everything but her eyes.
But Sakura's life has fallen apart, her career is over, her parents dead from Konoha Crush and her eyes gone...and Naruto is the most convenient and available person to take out all her rage on, so...while he deserves a lot of that rage..she is essentially punching down on who she perceives to be the cause of all her problems.
Lee is in the same boat as her, but while he tries very hard to be there for her, Sakura can't stand to be with him right now, as it just makes the reality of life hit that much worse- especially when she finds out there's a surgery that might give him a better chance than she'll ever have.
And Ino visits often at first, but then it's awkward...and painful as the weeks go by. They have lunch and gossip but at some point, there's not much a shinobi and civilian have in common, especially after the shortage of manpower post Konoha-crush has Ino entrenched in the shinobi life more than ever before.
I hope this answered some stuff! Thank you so much for the questions and the interest! I love Sakura and I just wanna give her the development and power she deserves!!

š»šøš’œš’Ÿš’žš’œš’©š’Ŗš’©š’®
Ė‘ ā€¢ You are not fully aware of the scope of Omnipotence, it was obvious that you were modified by Amado, and unlike the other eight cyborgs that got put away, they thought that you would be safer, less dangerous if you got embraced instead of locked away.
Ė‘ ā€¢ But, in the end you always accidently use Omnipotence by accident, on the smallest things and the outcomes deeply affect you. You don't mean to cast it but you do sometimes, it's like you can't control any of your thoughts. Your intentions are always good for yourself at least! However, due to this it affects you a lot emotionally.
Ė‘ ā€¢ For three long years, the guilt gnaws at you, especially when you see the damage youā€™ve caused to those closest to you. Even Kawaki, the one person who always stood by your side, got caught in the crossfire of your power. You pull away, afraid that youā€™ll hurt him more, but no matter how distant you try to be, he refuses to leave you alone in your sadness
Ė‘ ā€¢ Kawaki would never blame you. No matter how many times you apologize, trying to explain how everything feels out of control, Kawaki just looks at you with those steady eyes and tells you, "Itā€™s not your fault."
Ė‘ ā€¢ He knows what it's like to feel like a weapon, to feel like your own strength could hurt the ones you love. So, Kawaki understands what's happening do he'll stay by your side.
Ė‘ ā€¢ Jigen had the two of you train together, mostly because you were strong enough to train Kawaki, given that you could beat him if you didn't have any of your limiters on. In secret, you two train to figure out how your ability works.
Ė‘ ā€¢ He pushes you, knowing youā€™re stronger than you give yourself credit for. When you falter, doubting your ability to control your power, he reminds you that strength comes from your heart, not just your abilities.
You sat inside the quiet villa where the you sensed something in the air which made tingles shoot down your spine. The sun streamed in from the open window, but your mind was elsewhere, consumed with recent events and the thoughts of Kawaki.
But, something was wrong-you could feel it.
Your senses came into sharp focus and your heart raced as a sudden vision flooded your mind. Kawaki, running, chased down by the forces of Konoha, your eyes widened, what had he done now? The image flickered, and you were whisked away to the moment of before. Kawaki stood over Lord Seventh and Hinata, sealing them away with Isshiki's Jutsu.
He did it.
Kawaki had sealed Naruto and Hinata away to protect them, but at what cost. The village would most certainly turn against him now. Your breath caught and, without much thought, you leaped into the air, flying towards him with your heart pounding against your chest. You needed to reach him before things went to shit. Before they caught him.
In moments, you found him, sprinting through the trees, his breathing ragged as the Konoha shinobi closed in on him. You touched down in front of him, and he skidded to a stop, his eyes widening in surprise.
"Youā€”" he began, stumbling back, his hand instinctively reaching out for yours. He pulled you close without hesitation, desperation flickering in his eyes. "We have to run. They're coming for me."
But you didn't budge. You leaned forward and carefully cupped his face between your hands, pressing him to lock gazes with you. His breath caught, and for one moment, he was lost to the sensation of your touch, confusion washing over his face. Then, before he could continue, you were rising into the air, his body floating along with your own as you floated above the treetops.
You whispered, "Kawaki, it's going to be okay," unsure if you were trying more to convince him or yourself. His taut grip on your hand tightened, his eyes sweeping yours for answers. BUt as your lips gently grazed his own, tingles shot down your body and his own, the moment felt right to kiss him, but you couldn't fully bring yourself to.
Then you had that familiar feeling of power within you, rising, pleading to be set free. The sky above you began to flicker and turned into a glittering galaxy, with stars whirling around like whirlpools in the dark void. You closed your eyes and tried to channel that raw, untapped energy, the weight of it was almost intolerable.
Kawaki's eyes widened in realization as the air hummed with power, but he didn't utter a word before you flipped Omnipotence on.
The world shifted. The very stars in the sky bent, twisting into streaks of light as reality itself unraveled and reformed. The memories of everyone on the planet-their perceptions, their understanding of the world-flickered and changed.
Everything flipped in an instant.
Kawaki was no longer the hunted, the threat, now it was Boruto who would carry the mantle of being the one who killed Lord Seventh adn Hinata, of being the one to destroy it all. Everyone had come to think of Boruto as the traitor and of Kawaki as the hero, the savior of the world.
You opened your eyes, breathless, your hands still framing Kawaki's face. He stared back at you, shocked by what had just transpired.
"What did you-?"
"I reversed it," you whispered low, the strain of your power tingeing your tone. "I switched everything. You're no longer the one they're after.
Kawaki's eyes gentled as he sees how venerable you look right now, everything you'd ever done for him hanging in the air between you, god, he loves you so much. His hand rose to cover yours, his fingers quivering with the weight of holding your hand against his face.
"Why?" he breathed.
You smiled weakly, still bobbing around each other in the glittering galaxy above. "Because I couldn't let you bear this burden alone anymore."

My issue with how Naruto is portrayed as hokage in Boruto, and subsequently the treatment of the surviving Uchiha (Sasuke and Sarada) in Boruto, is that it undermines the political messaging of Naruto completely.
So Naruto (the character) agrees with Nagato and Sasuke regarding the abuse they faced and the need for an overhaul of Shinobi society. This is not where he disagrees with them. Naruto (the character) is the closest thing the manga has to a pacifist (though he's a poor representation of one, I'm not going to harp on that too hard as I'm not expecting the shonen manga to get too deep into leftist political theory for its audience of 12 year olds). He is not shown to actually disagree with Nagato or Sasuke on the basis of their beliefs, but instead on their actions. Naruto doesn't believe that mass suffering is needed to bring peace (Nagato's plan of causing pain to bring empathy.) He also doesn't believe in killing all of the kages or martyring Sasuke as someone to be eternally hated for the sake of peace. His issue with killing the kages has to do with the instability that would lead to (what we're shown).
So in modern terms, Naruto is closest to a socdem - someone who wants to work within the system to bring about leftist changes to the system.
Okay
But then we get to Boruto and we have:
The Uchiha tablet has been moved to the middle of the woods, effectively erasing their culture from Konoha completely
Sarada has people making comments about her carrying the curse of hate and faces discrimination for her ancestors part in the fourth war - meaning the very conditions which facilitated the Uchiha massacre/genocide are still in place, furthered by a lack of history education of the Uchiha via the removal of their cultural texts to outside the village (the tablet)
Children still are sent to fight and die for Konoha
The council of elders still has political strength
The anbu still exist
Those who took part in hiding the truth behind the Uchiha massacre/genocide have faced no consequences and have maintained their positions of power
The hokage still has an unlimited term AND is not elected by the citizens of Konoha - the hokage still falls under the control of the will of the elders if they wish to keep their position
And the thing that gets me is that there is no evidence in Naruto (the manga) that Naruto (the character) would hide the truth of the Uchiha massacre. He immediately went to tell people but was held back by Kakashi, but Kakashi would have no power over him once he's hokage.
So is this some commentary about how revolution is the only path forward towards change? I'd be shocked at kishi's sudden change in political beliefs but fair enough, i can totally work with the narrative through that view point.
But the why the fuck is Sasuke, the main revolutionary of the series, now an asset of the state?
Or was the idea that change takes time?
But why were they able to erect a statue of Itachi whilst moving the last of Uchiha culture literally outside the village.
Is it that Kishi didn't think about his own political messages before writing Boruto, effectively ruining Naruto's character as a fighter for the oppressed?
Most likely.
Because at the end of Naruto, Naruto vowed to fight for the oppressed. He wanted to fix things for Nagato, and Neji, and Sasuke. He wanted to overhaul the entire system, he just wanted to do so in a way that wouldn't result in more civilian deaths.
That his time as hokage in canon has finished the eradication of a culture from konoha, continued the abuses of children, did not end Konoha's economic reliance on violence, and more is a complete destruction of his character.
And the thing is that Naruto didn't have to end by validating Nagato, Neji, and Sasuke's beliefs. Kishi could have gone full ally of the oppressive state and painted them as incorrect wholly and completely.
He didn't.
He made the choice to have them be objectively mistreated and to have his protagonist agree that change was necessary. HE is the one who validated them. He is the one who wrote their oppression into the story, and also had his protagonist agree they were oppressed and that change is necessary

boruto rewrite where the show actually still focuses on the original characters from naruto, but we're seeing them face their struggles that come with being adults in the society they live in and after going through what they did. their children are also in the show and we're given their perspective on the events compared to their parents'.
the overall plot revolves around naruto trying to change the shinobi system. he knows first hand how terrible the repercussions are when children are forced to be soldiers, and now that he's the hokage, he finally has the power to change it.
the only problem is, not everyone agrees with him. many believe by changing the age that shinobi begin their training, they won't be as strong later on and the village will become weaker over the years. not only that, but some people just don't understand why naruto feels this way. they were shinobi all their life and they turned out just fine ā€” why fix what isn't broken?
it causes conflict within the cast and allows us to delve into each character more, showing why they feel the way they do and how their experiences have built up to the person they are.
besides that, other characters get their own storylines as well that connect with the theme of recovering from trauma.
gaara realizes that he's only ever lived for his village ā€” as a soldier, a weapon, the kazekage. he works himself to the bone for his village while ignoring his basic needs, still having not realized he's a human just like everyone else. when he gets shinki, he realizes what it's like to prioritize something; what it's like to nurture and love.
sakura works at a hospital for young shinobi, doubling as both a healer and a therapist of sorts. she listens to the children tell their stories and gives them a shoulder to try on. she saw what being alone did to her teammates and she doesn't want any other child to go through what they did.
during her time at the hospital, she slowly begins to see pieces of herself within her patients. her trauma, which she's always pushed away and ignored, starts to come out. she's forced to face these memories she's always tried to bury deep. she struggles with understanding it as well as feeling validated compared to what naruto and sasuke had to go through.
she also struggles with her marriage to sasuke as she starts to unpack all the terrible things he's done to her. she's knows why he did them and she can justify his actions as much as she wants, but it doesn't change the fact he traumatized and tried to kill her at one point.
hinata's would focus on the hyuga. she's an outsider to them without any power. when she was stripped of her title and allowed to marry naruto, she thought it was a dream come true. she was so confident that hanabi would change the clan, that the branch system would be destroyed and neji wouldn't have died in vain.
only, without hinata, hanabi began to crack under the pressure of the elders and her father until she became just like them. the seal system is still in place, the branch families are still treated as servants.
it's a lot about generational trauma. how no matter how much hinata tried to change things for hanabi, she was always destined to fall into the same path as her father. only by recognizing this and making the changes her family refused to do in the past, are they able to change things.
i think there could also be something about how once, a long time ago, hiashi had wanted to change the hyÅ«ga. he wanted to dispel the main/side branch family system so his brother could be free. but overtime, he became complacent ā€” very similar to hanabi.
as for the kids, i would show the differences between them based on how their parents feel about them being raised as soldiers.
for example, shikatema would have no problem with the shinobi system (at first) and their child would be entered into the academy and ready to become a ninja.
boruto, however, was raised by parents who want to change the system and hate the senseless violence, therefore he was not enrolled. this causes him to have some resentments for his parents as he's in the minority of children who aren't attending the ninja academy. he's viewed as a weak and soft-hearted by his companions and he hates it. maybe he goes against his parents and attends the academy in secret somehow.
there's a lot you can do with each character, honestly. i won't go further into it unless asked, but here's my main thoughts. i have a lot of idea with how to conclude the arcs as well, but i'm not sure how people would feel about it.
gaara stepping down as kazekage and leaving suna, sakura divorcing sasuke as she realized she never truly loved him romantically, hinata becoming the hyūga head/disbanding the hyūga, etc. many ideas.

Thinking about how Saint Seiya as a franchise is allowed to grow and expand and introduce a new generation of characters and concepts to keep it fresh to grab in some new fans.
Itā€™s not the first kids action franchise to do this. Yugioh GX and Boruto come to mind.
Could you imagine that kind of expansion given to Sailor Moon? Like a whole generation of Sailor Senshi awakening their powers and fighting bad guys.
While Sailor Moon does have its own timeline that might get a little messy if youā€™re not careful, thereā€™s still lots of undefined things that could make it work. (Like ā€œoh this is the timeline where chibiusa never awakens as a senshiā€ or ā€œthis is while serenity is asleepā€ or ā€œthis takes place on Earth 2ā€)
Idk. Itā€™s been over 30 years just about, letā€™s get some new Sailor Senshi cooking

Why Karui could be an Uzumaki in Naruto, explored:
Tumblr media
Modified Jul 14, 2024 02:30 GMT by Umer
Naruto: Exploring Karui as a potential member of the Uzumaki clan
Disclaimer: Any opinions expressed in this article solely belong to the author.
Tumblr media
Karui from Naruto is the wife of Choji Akimichi and a character to whom fans tend to not pay much attention. This could be due to her origins from the Hidden Cloud Village and not having that much of a significant jutsu technique which could intrigue fans about her.
But there is one characteristic about her that could be more than just intriguing and could tie her to one of the most powerful clans of the Hidden Leaf Village, her crimson red hair. This makes sense considering how her origins haven't been revealed yet and this could make her one of the descendants of the Uzumaki clan who are known for their crimson hair.
Tumblr media
Karui was a kunoichi of Team Samui of the Hidden Cloud Village that worked directly under the Fourth Raikage. Omoi and Samui were part of her team. During the Five Kage Summit, the kunoichi assaulted Naruto in hopes of getting some information out of him regarding Sasuke Uchiha and his hideout.
However, the protagonist remained steadfast and wanted to solve everything through negotiation. Later on, she took part in the Fourth Great Ninja War and was caught in the Infinite Tsukuyomi. After the protagonist and Sasuke defeated Kaguya Otsutsuki, the kunoichi was released alongside the other people who were trapped inside the ultimate genjutsu.
After the war, there was a Blank Period before the Boruto series started which was explored through the light novels, Sasuke Shinden and Sakura Hiden. This revealed that Choji was interested in the kunoichi from their very first meeting and visited her in the Hidden Cloud Village frequently.
Tumblr media
As the new era started, Karui emigrated to the Hidden Leaf Village, joined the Akimichi clan, and married Choji. She also had a daughter, Chocho Akimichi, who was a part of the new generation of InoShikaCho. The only thing about the kunoichi that intrigued fans is her crimson red hair, which is the trademark of the Uzumaki clan members.
Her origins are unknown as she was just introduced as a part of the Hidden Cloud Village. Moreover, the Hidden Cloud Village is known for stealing bloodline abilities, just like how they tried to steal the Byakugan.
So, one of Karui's parents could be a Uzumaki member whom the Hidden Cloud Village stole from the Hidden Leaf Village. This could make her a member of the same lineage as the protagonist.
This theory is a mere piece of speculation as it was constructed from a plothole that was left behind by the author, Masashi Kishimoto. Yes, crimson red hair is the characteristic of the Uzumaki clan but they have some more prominent characteristics.
The Uzumaki clan members, like Kushina Uzumaki and Mito Uzumaki, had exceptional sealing jutsu capabilities and immense reserves of chakra. Karui, on the other hand, didn't do any such thing as she used lightning chakra. But there could still be a chance of her not showcasing such abilities in the anime/manga so take this article with a huge grain of salt.
Leave a comment below about this wild theory.

People who are saying "you can't criticize Horikoshi, it's his story and he can do whatever he wants", etc. Yeah, it's his story but he's made it public so I can do whatever I want and if I want to be a bitch and I call hi, mediocre Iā€™ll do it. Like I love Naruto with all my heart and I have defended Kishimoto over certain criticisms in relation to female characters, etc. I have also criticized him for the absolute shit that Boruto is, even considering that as a manga Boruto isnā€™t 100% his work considering that at the beginning he was involved in the movie but on the manga he was only a supervisor. What I'm trying to get Itā€™s that if you believe that just because a mangaka creates a story it should be free from criticism then you arenā€™t ready to get involved with any type of media or sincerely the public believes that consuming a movie, book, etc. means being a passive subject without critical thinking. Ā
That being said, Horikoshi largely deserves as much criticism as he can get because these chapters were truly a shit show since this last arc began. Let's just start listing first, AFO vs Endeavor and every hero in existence was too long and repeated for a large number of chapters the formula "villain takes the advantage, heroes take the advantage, the villain takes the advantage again and finally wins and move on to something else", all of this perhaps understandable to give some prominence to characters who were forgotten for entire arcs.
Shouto and his arc plus his relationship with Dabi, Shouto had a very interesting arc and incredibly much material to exploit but his arc and his relationship with Dabi never managed to take off because he was so tied to Endeavor that the interactions between them felt empty.Ā
Ochako and Toga were honestly the only thing that was worth it, you could see the commitment to giving them both a great moment and the way she wanted to approach Toga and truly have a conversation. The only thing I can criticize about their ending is that obviously there is no completely satisfactory closure in giving Toga an answer to what happens next, apart from Ochako's offer of understanding, there is no easy way out of what the other heroes will do, therefore which I canā€™t criticize her for not giving an answer to a complicated situation in this way.Ā
Also Horikoshi added things to his story that in the end he didnā€™t finish closing or that surely even if he touched them again it would no longer make sense, what happened to Spinner? What happened to everything about heteromorphic discrimination? I have to believe that everything is fixed by the good heart of Shoji telling Spinner that his way of doing things only makes the "achievements" of equality go backwards by giving them a bad image. In other words, we know that quirk society is discriminatory, especially in less urbanized towns, that those heteromorphs who reach places of power are the least and no real change has been achieved, but of course the victims of discrimination have to keep quiet and be good. So, maybe in the future they will no longer be discriminated. I'm going to be fair here, touching on issues like discrimination is complex, but putting an idea like this in the manga and then going for a simplistic or rather completely ignored resolution, because while a person may not share Spinner's actions, itā€™s understandable why he does it and simply saying that you have to be better because then people will see that you are good and not discriminate against you is stupid, Horikoshi covered a topic that he honestly didnā€™t know how to deal with or wasnā€™t interested in doing so.Ā
Kurogiri/Shirakumo being just a plot device for Aizawa and being resolved in 5 panels, I'm going to be understanding and say that this arc had the least to explore, but in the end it was meh. Tbh I'm not going to criticize this because it is so empty of content that it is no longer worth criticizing it.Ā
About Tomura and Izuku, the truth is what can I say the most that I haven't said in previous posts? from all the fights or confrontations itā€™s the most ignored, neglected and rushed of all, we don't know anything about them other than loose panels for a whole year, they barely interact and now Tomura dies, Izuku is "well, I honestly don't give a damn and I want you dead", if no one who has followed these two characters realizes the damage that this chapter has done to their conclusions then I'm not going to explain it. If Horikoshi felt incapable or was tired of his story he could have ended it with something else, however perhaps this was always the plan, we are talking about a guy who said that the second movie was the end of his manga, that is Midoriya without quirk giving it to his childhood bully. It's obvious that he doesn't care about Izuku as a character and I think he did care about Tomura but he didn't know what to do with him, which is why we have this ending.
Final note for any comments I may surely receive for calling bk a childhood bully. Don't waste your time replying, commenting or trying to argue, Horikoshi took it upon himself to make bk a gary stu who never faces real consequences for his actions (dying is not a sign of karma) and his abuse is never treated seriously by the author, because his victim never reflects on himself, which is ironic considering how many BK fans recognize that Midoriya has self-esteem problems, contempt, and poor self-care but do not recognize BK's role in this or minimize it.

Hey leportraitducadavre you know about Naruto the Last movie well if i am being honest when watching the movie to me it feels like everyone if everyone i mean sakura was forcing naruto to get with/fall in with hinata now i don't know about you or anyone but to me that's what it feels so what's your opinion sorry if i bother you.
There's nothing salvageable about that piece of media; the lore is wrong, they twist the canon material as they see fit to make their narrative work instead of putting the effort of fitting the narrative around the original setting like the fandom isn't even worth the effort (it isn't, not the fandom they tried to reach as they didn't care and they made it clear after its release how much they didn't).
They highlight unlikeable traits of the characters they want to "get rid of" because they didn't want to budge on the idea of "true and only love" the fandom wanted (Naruto could get over Sakura, people, and it would've been better than what you got) and desperately tried to downplay others actual toxic behavior only to make it worse (Hinata worrying about Naruto when someone close to her is dead/in danger again, it's like a joke).
Hinata obtained relevance and power that she never possessed during the manga, being known as the weakest ninja in the k-11 and having potential for nothing. Yet, instead of exploiting such things in their favor, making Naruto fall in love with her mundanity as a breeze of fresh air from all the violence he has to endure daily, they make her the "byakugan princess" (the fuck?) to give her some semblance of power.
Don't break a sweat about it, the movie is a piece of media solely made to exploit the fandom's wallets and continue to profit from a manga that had ended and was still popular back then; reason why Boruto exists as well.

Hot mess anon here,
He absolutely is a deeper character and I love the comic relief side but miss the competent confident badass side they don't show anymore. During taka he was considerate of his team and CLEVER. He actually complained about how rash the other teammates were at one point and despite the teasing in battle he acted mature.
I wish we got more of him in boruto too as an adult, your content definitely is doing its best to reignite a crush. I'm eating up alllll the head cannons!
Aaaaaaa, I missed so many important questions like this! I'm sorry, I'm relatively new to social media.
But I'm glad that now I know better how Tumblr works, I can give a more organized answer. XD
Let's go!
----------------
Yes, you're absolutely right.
I always talk about this in my small group of friends who love Suigetsu and Karin. When Suigetsu was introduced, he was a character who could be defined as: confident, proud, determined, determined, brave, provocative, merciless...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He was a perfect representation of what you would expect from a teenager from the lands of Kirigakure. But as we all know, Masashi decided he was fed up with his own work, threw the development of the secondary characters in the trash and focused entirely on Team 7. I think that until the Kage Summit, he was still the Suigetsu that Masashi planned him to be...
Tumblr media
But then, in the middle of the war arc, he became just a comic relief...
Forgive me if I'm being hypocritical. I love Suigetsu's comedic side, but... Look at this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like... Who are you? Jugo is acting like always, he's afraid of their power, but he went to protect Sasuke. Why are you hiding behind Orochimaru...? Why are you running away? You deserved that kick from Karin...
Look at the difference between Suigetsu's reaction to Sasuke's desire to kill in the beginning and his reaction to the presence of the five Kages:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Do you see the difference in the display of fear against strong opponents? With Sasuke, it's a normal reaction for a serious character, but against the Kages... He becomes a coward to make the readers laugh and feel that the Kages are really very strong. A downgrade, in my opinion.
Suigetsu, as seen in the databook, is good at predicting battles, and he was even worried about the difference in strength between him and Killer B, but he openly challenged him, as well as Kisame (even though they were supposedly much stronger than him at the time).
Tumblr media
Damn, Suigetsu took a Bijuu Dama to the face and survived, Suigetsu spoke proudly of his goal of getting all the swords, and the feeling was that if the swords were even in the hands of the five Kages, he would still go ahead with his goal!
So... What does this mean? Why do you want to run away, Suigetsu? Shouldn't you be excited to go to war alongside such powerful people? And then, the reason for the biggest question, probably, among all Suigetsu fans...
Why the FUCK are you WORKING for OROCHIMARU?!
He kidnapped you. He locked you in a water tank. He tortured you, hurt you, used you as a guinea pig... The way he was back then, I have no doubt that he did even worse things than I can even imagine.
So why, Suigetsu? Why did you give up your life's goal and your late brother, to work for your former tormentor?
Well... As Suigetsu fans, we can theorize why all this change.
My theory is...
Suigetsu never really wanted to gather the swords and become the leader of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist.
He was captured by Orochimaru probably between 6~10 years ago (I say this because Kisame remembers him in Kiri when he was about 5 years old, and Mangetsu must have died shortly after that). This was a dream his brother had, and since he loved and cherished Mangetsu so much, he took that dream for himself.
But then, when Sasuke freed him and he spent some real time in the world, outside of that tank... He became more mellow. He was no longer the psychopath Kiri created, who kills without thinking. Sasuke taught him that this is wrong, and even though he may still be stubborn about it, he knows it's wrong and doesn't do it.
He started to see Team Taka as his new family... And he didn't want to be separated from them, even after the war, even if it meant staying by Orochimaru's side. I understand why Karin (habit) and Jugo (need) stayed by Orochimaru's side, but regarding Suigetsu, I don't understand. Why does he call Orochimaru Orochimaru-sama? Isn't that a sign of respect in Japan? Or is it also a custom, because he was forced to call him that?
But about the part about him becoming scared... I still don't understand that. I have no theory for this, for me this is Masashi himself mischaracterizing his OC to make him the comic relief in the middle of the seriousness of the War. This is frustrating, I must say.
And my whole theory must fall apart if we think that there is no reason for Suigetsu's change... Masashi just gave up on him like he gave up on Karin, Rock Lee, Neji, and so many other secondary characters who deserved much more than they got.
All we can do is cry and accept it. šŸ„¹

I know you haven't watched Boruto, but maybe you have heard when you grow up. Sasuke hasn't been there for his daughter, Sarada, for her first years, along with Naruto who supposedly wasn't there for his kids like for ex: Being there for his daughter's birthday and always away on hokage's work.
Now just imagine if Sasuke & Naruto would do the same for their darling and their kids, and their kids be upset and they're just confused on as to why.
And maybe the darling be bitterly telling them "Maybe if you spend time with your kids, you would care enough to know."
And they aren't saying this to be mean, just angry like their kids cause they aren't doing what fathers are supposed to do.
*Okay, maybe with Sasuke's darling, she would be kinda mean cause Sasuke is a bastard, but even he would know she is right about one thing, his lack of presence in their kid's life
Honestly, this is one of the first reasons why I have always been a bit hesitant to watch Boruto. With Sasuke I'd be inclined to understand it a bit more since I don't expect him to be all clingy and sweet with his children but considering that he himself was often neglected by his own father I at least expected him to put him a bit more effort. Especially since Sarada is an Uchiha and for that is going to develop a Sharingan and he is at the end of Shippuden the last of his clan so I thought he'd at least tutor his own child a bit instead of being the stereotypical dad who is never in his child's life until they're teenagers.
As for Naruto with him i was especially disappointed when i read those things. Naruto should know best how lonely it is without parents and him missing his daughter's birthday despite having promised to be there just sounds terrible.
I'm personally not a fan of writing Hc's about characters I write for as Yanderes be abusive/overly neglective parents.
As for Sasuke he is more likely to not always be there. He travels a lot and sometimes he just needs time for himself although he's always keeping a watchful eye out for his darling and their children. He's going to understand you though if you accuse him for not always being there though he will be slightly outraged if you were ever to accuse him of being a bad parent because at the end of the day Sasuke is fully prepared to step over mountains of corpses if his children or you should ever be in danger.
Naruto on the other hand I have a hard time picturing personally as a neglectful parent. Sure, his duties as a Hokage consume some time but after the war there aren't really any great threats left which means that the era is quite peaceful and for that there isn't any great pressure nor enemy he'd have to worry about. Even if there would be a powerful enemy out there I just can't see him neglecting or even forgetting the birthday of his children. If he spends less time with his family due to stress he's probably going to apologise to his darling and his children whilst embracing all of them in a big hug and smothering them with kisses.

Mad and delusional takes part 1:
The Hyuga siblings connection to the Encanto sisters
Mirabel and Hinata= pretty self explanatory. Deemed as failures, kinda outcasted, they both turn out to be very special and powerful in their own way. But an interesting point here: Hinata made a whole new family with Naruto (yep the franchise did mention that she fixed the clan with Neji but that happened off screen) while Mirabel rebuilt hers.
Now, usually Luisa would be linked with Neji because of their strength and Hanabi with Isabela because she was said to be the ā€œgolden childā€. Allow my very controversial take.
Isabela and Neji= both have long hair, both share that diva energy. And most of all, both are essentially, sacrificial lambs to their families. Neji would sacrifice himself to protect the secrets of the Byakugan. He was marked to do so, and had to submit to the clans will. Even if Isabela is much more glorified, her engagement to Mariano, wasnā€™t something she did willingly. She wasnā€™t exactly ā€œforcedā€ , but she was the perfect child, the oldest in her gen, she has to carry the duty of up-keeping her familyā€™s reputation by doing something she wished that she didnā€™t. Both are very restrained, both have this effortlessly perfect image of themselves and theyā€™re exactly and more than that of what each respective leader (Alma and Hiashi) expect. What both of them strived was freedom, that was their general message. However one got what they wanted and oneā€¦ :(
Luisa and Hanabi- Especially after Hinatas failure to abide by the requirements of a worthy clan head, Hanabi would be the one facing the immediate pressure of doing so. There was a note in Naruto the Last, where it states that after Nejis death and the Shinobi war, Hanabi loosened up a lot, to the point of decorating her kunais. Even to Hinata, she would overdo it. Even if the Hyuugas and Hanabis development is nonexistent, the Hanabi we see during the Chunin arc up to The Last and Boruto, are different. Almost the same can be said for Luisa. Luisa went from helping everyone in the village and going strictly by Almas order, to chilling in a canopy with a coconut drink in her hand by the last scenes of the movie. Luisa, just like Hanabi, were expected to bear all the harsh work that their family and clan demanded. To be a showcase of strength and resilience of their kin. And at the end, we see them the most laidback, which is very satisfactory in comparison with how Neji and Hinata ended up *cough cough*

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex has been not great. As a matter of fact, I am not excited about the release of new chapters.
I began working on a project; A fanfiction series called Boruto: Tenchijin. I have published 13 chapters on AO3 so far.
How it differs from BTBV manga?
It focuses not only on the protagonists but also side characters. Those anime-canon kids that you adore appear in the story but not to get disrespected and treated like irrelevant, flat characters. They are back to be fleshed out and have their moments of greatness.
There is actual fight scenes that don't feel like squash matches. Flashy destructive techniques return and the cast are versatile and powerful yet at the same time vulnerable and mortal. Even if one party suffers from defeat, they would not be deemed as weaklings as they'd already shown their capacity.
The lore-expanding and worldbuilding is not overlooked. There is an endless creation and compelling history events that needs to be explored.
Bonding is extremely important as it helps form a realistic story and add layers to characters. Your faves are allowed to fully express themselves in society and solitude alike.
If anyone is interested in reading my work, let me know in comment section. If i know there is some people who are intrigued by the concept, i will share the fanfic series on this platform as well.

naruto was the hokage but shikamaru was the one running konoha all the time, so it was like naruto wasn't really the hokage but the face. he was there to fight and play the hero but never to run anyone. he would just say ā€œput the police at my house on watchā€ but nothing else (he's the ninja with the best sensory abilities in the world but the poor guy couldn't handle it).
a hokage needs to be someone outside to protect the village like the trump card. no one chooses a weak hokage no matter how good a leader he may be, he needs to have some defensive skills. that's why they even have two assistants/advisors. for naruto it was shikamaru the main one and then shizune who lived for two reigns, but shizune was removed to put her as sakura's assistant instead.
a hokage needs to be a konoha shinobi and needs to go through all ninja stages genin (beginner), chunin (team leaders above average ninja) and jonin (military large scale leaders and elite ninja). naruto left, he's good a talk-no-jutsu and he wanted to surpass the other kage and be acknowledged and he did.
shikamaru, sakura, rock lee, neji (rip), temari and hanabi, the main konoha jonin have these skills. team ebisu too but they're frauds who are very weak.
shikamaru made it to jonin which means he's cut out for military level leadership, so hundreds and thousands of people. he is made to lead others to victory, to save people if his friends help him with their combat capabilities. that is why he is an excellent advisor, he relies on others while he's the mastermind.
idk if you read boruto but having a weak hokage is the reason why konoha is doing so extremely bad right now. shikamaru is an amazing leader, the best in konoha, but he is physically weak and in real combat he is useless unless he already knows his enemy's abilities and has some good teammates to help him. he should have stayed as advisor and have the hokage be kakashi again or better sakura, who has the most powerful defensive ability in the world with katsuyu (the village will be destroyed pain level).
sasuke is a good choice. he has been a good leader of taka, he's the strongest shinobi in the world next to naruto and he's also leader material but only in battle. sasuke doesn't have the patience to talk to daimyo or do business, inaugurate a building, take pictures, etc. he fights for others but he is not cut out to lead an evacuation without jumping right into the action. he's not cut out for a chair either, neither were naruto or kakashi for that matter (kakashi always begged to leave his office). they're men of action.
he would be great if he also wasn't too haunted by his previous ideals of what hokage meant and moved forward (kishimoto's sasuke would move on) but he's also the kind of man that wouldn't do it alone unless it's with naruto or his teammates, like he does now as shadow hokage.
and while sakura is also a woman of action, she's more cut out to be hokage. not just because her two masters are hokage, but also because her training and her lifestyle are more suited for combat and office duties. she's used to working in a hospital since she finished her training with tsunade and was already vaunted as the top 3 as a teenager, to handling tsunade's paperwork while she was hokage, to being present in the office when important matters had to be discussed and giving her opinion, she founded her own mental health clinic so she knows how to handle for the public, etc.
she also made it to jonin, the only k12 with shikamaru and rock lee, which contrary to her chunin comrades who lead small teams of 4 to 5 shinobi, the three are military leaders. sakura is one of 4 (counting temari) who can lead and protect a village. they're large scale leaders and sakura was already aiding shizune handle the several injured in her camp, and when she was promoted she was already leading teams of medics she chose on her own. she's currently the head of a whole department and a hospital full of people. she's leading a mini konoha inside the walls of the hospital, inside her office but also acting on her duties herself.
also, kishimoto said of team 7 sakura would be the best instructor.
Iā€™m gonna assume that this is a response to my post about Naruto not being a good leader and that you sent this as an ask because you wanted a response of some kind. If not, feel free to ignore this.
Here are my ramblings about the Hokage and what I think makes a good one.
Just to make my thought process easier to understand, Iā€™m gonna do a quick rundown of what I interpret the responsibilities of the Hokage to be. (Keep in mind, Iā€™m taking this from the Naruto manga, a little from Boruto, and nothing from the novels.) Because Iā€™m American and this is the easiest way for me to wrap my head around how the village works, I think of the Hokage as being a mix of the shogun from when Japan had shogunates and the president. So, basically: they have full or mostly full control of the military, they (theoretically) answer to the daimyo, they donā€™t make or pass laws but they play a large role in enforcing them, they arenā€™t diplomats but they are expected to maintain relations and support major political alliances, they are public figures both to represent Konoha/the Land of Fire and to act as deterrents to war (and thus canā€™t be pushovers in skill or personality), they decide how dissenters are dealt with, theyā€™re responsible for maintaining national security, they command forces during war time, they stay in the village to protect it against threat, etc. etc. etc.
TL;DR A good Hokage is someone whoā€™s good at politics, a skilled military commander, and isnā€™t someone people want to fuck with.
For the most part, the Hokage fit this well.
Hashirama is a charismatic leader who was commanding the Senju clan for who knows how long before building the village, and heā€™s so strong that he can get away with his goofball antics. Plus, we know from his fight against Madara at the Valley of the End that he is not a pushover, knows when itā€™s time to get serious, and is absolutely not afraid to be ruthless.
Tobirama is Tobirama. Heā€™s far from being a pushover, seems like a Lyndon-Johnson-esque political leader whoā€™s willing to step on a few toes and use intimidation if he deems it necessary, has about as much experience as a shinobi as Hashirama and likely acted as a general during the warring states era, and even if he isnā€™t as strong as his brother, heā€™s still smart enough and has enough variety in his skillset that most shinobi arenā€™t gonna want to fight him.
Hiruzen is liked by the people of Konoha (and probably the daimyo) and is strong enough to protect the village in case of an emergency. However, it also seems like he isnā€™t a good leader and doesnā€™t bring the intimidation factor a Hokage should (at least from what weā€™ve seen, this couldā€™ve been different when he was in his prime). I think he got away with lacking in those areas for three reasons: 1. Konoha had many jounin/rising shinobi who were more competent leaders than him (the three sannin, Sakumo, Minato, Fugaku, Shikaku, etc.) who could cover for his failings on the field. 2. Hiruzen was following Hashirama and Tobirama (two stronger and much more intimidating Hokage), so villages wouldā€™ve been hesitant about messing with Konoha even if Hiruzen wasnā€™t a walking deterrent like they were. 3. Danzo covered his weaknesses (say what you want about him, but Danzo was the head of anbu, knew how to get what he wanted, and had enough of a presence that even Tsunade didnā€™t want to get in his way too much).
I think Iā€™ve made my point enough that I donā€™t need to get into Minato and Tsunade, so letā€™s get back on topic and talk about the characters you brought up.
Iā€™ve already mentioned that I donā€™t think Naruto would make a good Hokage. Heā€™s definitely strong enough that defending the village/intimidating other nations wouldnā€™t be a problem and with some more maturing I can see him being able to act as a political figure, but Iā€™ve already said that he isnā€™t much of a leader and I doubt heā€™ll ever not get restless being cooped up in the village doing the day-to-day work.
When it comes to Sasuke, I think that he could be Hokage since he meets all of the requirements, but he wouldnā€™t be the best because of his personality. I think he could be a reasonably good public figure and handle the more tedious parts of being Hokage fine, if he thought they were important. If he thought they were necessary or would have a positive impact, he could do all of those things fine; but he probably wouldnā€™t bother with them at all if he didnā€™t see the point. Thereā€™s also a problem with what he would find important because, like Naruto, he tends to treat important matters as personal responsibilities. Thatā€™s fine if heā€™s off wandering the world alone or if heā€™s on a small team, but that doesnā€™t work if heā€™s supposed to be running an entire systemā€™s worth of people.
Shikamaru and Sakura would make bad candidates for similar reasons. Yes, they both meet certain requirements and I can see why people think theyā€™d workā€”both can be very charismatic when they need to be and they take charge when the situation calls for it or theyā€™re personally motivated to, Shikamaru is probably the best strategist in the series, and Sakura has the strength and skills to protect the village in case of emergencyā€”but people also tend to overestimate how much charge they actually take. Shikamaru only acts as a leader when heā€™s ordered to and when Asuma died; Sakura only acts as a leader when nobody else can or will. They also both tend to abandon those leadership positions as soon as someone they think is more qualified steps up to the plate. Basically, theyā€™re both too much of pushovers to act as Hokage (hence why I think they work much better as enforcers or advisors). If either were to be Hokage, it would have to be a Hiruzen situation where they have someone right next to them to cover their blind spots.
(Also, Iā€™m not sure why you brought up Kishimoto saying that Sakura would be the best teacher of team seven because thatā€™s a fundamentally different career path.)
As for Kakashi, Iā€™d actually say that he makes a damn good Hokage. He has years of experience working closely with previous Hokage and leading different teams, he has the notoriety to act as a deterrent, he has the skill to protect the village, he knows how to get (very important) people to listen to him, he knows when and how to make difficult decisions, he takes charge at a moments notice, he maintains self control and levelheadedness under pressure, he asks for second opinions and knows when he can/should rely on others, he is stubborn in his beliefs but he still knows how to compromise, and heā€™s incredibly smart. He knocks it out of the park in all categories, even personality. If I had to choose someone to be Hokage in Narutoā€™s place, it would be Kakashi. The main issue with him being Hokage is that he doesnā€™t want to be the Hokage.

the handling of the hyuga clan is probably what annoys me the most within the naruto continuation/ending especially as someone who has neji and hinata as favorites (apart from sasuke) but what i need people to understand is that the lack of coverage over the resolution of their issues was kishimoto's fault and he dropped the ball because he had too much on his plate and too little time lol
what some people fail to understand is: neji is justified in his anger. more than justified, he has the right to be angry and use violence. he's under a system where he's basically a slave.
and what other people fail to understand too, is this: hinata was a privileged child. she was from the main family. she was the personification of neji's struggle, in a way. yet, she was still a child, one that was shunned and abused by her family too. she had power over neji and the second branch, power that wasn't chosen and that she didn't want, but still had.
could she change the power balance? could she abolish the seal? well THAT'S the real question.
during the war, it's said both her and neji are working together to change the hyuga clan. so maybe there is a way to abolish the seal. but what if there's not? it is made to understand that both families are fighting as equals, no longer divided, and from that moment on ā€” blank period, boruto ā€” we're not shown any divide between the hyuga, any mention of "first" or "second" family and no hyuga clan member with a seal in their heads.
so, what happened? how did it change?
we don't know and probably won't. kishimoto is not worried about getting the resolve on those political matters he himself created when they don't affect naruto (and now boruto) himself directly. it was important back when naruto could motivate both neji and hinata. once that was over, there's no need to expand.
the point is: yes, it sucks that a topic so crucial that basically shaped two very important and iconic characters from the series is so underwritten, but that's that. i feel like misogyny plays a role in that too, since the only relevant hyuga alive is hinata and her character is constantly sidelined anyway. also, kishimoto is always on the side of "everyone can be redeemed without showing them actually repenting" which is why hiashi hyuga is a cute little old grandpa after he just apologized to neji once.
