I have a funny 1d origin story. So back in 5th grade my bff LOVED 1d like she was like an og fan. I remember she would just talk to me constantly about them and I would just listen. One day she said “Louis is gay” with like full confidence and I legit thought he was an openly gay man like he was out and everything. During this time I had no clue “who was who” in the band just that the one named Louis was gay

So months later LWWY MV had came out and it was playing on TV at a sleepover I was at. While we were all watching it I was looking for the “gay one” (which is problematic I know but I was 11) and I saw Louis and immediately just knew and I said out loud “Louis is gay”.

Heads immediately turned and one girl said “No he has a girlfriend” and I felt bamboozled so I went home and searched “Louis 1D” on my ipod touch and then it was History ™.

I apologize in advance if I ask the same question to more bloggers, but, as a new Larrie, I don't know many things and I don't have clear ideas. a veteran Larrie, here on Tumblr, thinks that H and L broke up at least a year and a half ago (this would also be demonstrated by the fact that Louis, completely drunk, fell and broke his arm) and that what is happening in these days is made possible precisely by the fact that they are no longer together. This statement struck me. what do you think?

I believe they’re together, and if im reading this correctly, it really icks me that that person has put it down to louis breaking his arm and getting drunk and partying as to “obviously coping with a breakup”. I assume that person is no longer a larrie, and that’s fine, each to their own, but to share a theory that holds absolutely NO substance and reads like a fanfiction is pretty yikes in my opinion. Anyway, i really think you need to make up your own mind on what you believe in.

However, if you’d like my opinion, I don’t think louis enjoying getting on the piss and breaking his arm is relevant, because he’s always been a bit rowdy. Has been since the 1d days. I’m not 100% sure the context of the og post you read, whether it was that louis’ drunk actions caused the alleged breakup or he was acting that way because of the alleged breakup, but either way, I don’t think that’s a contributing factor. Anyway, a lot of folks over the past few years have decided that they’ve broken up, because we just aren’t getting that much content. It’s far easier to deny something when you don’t see it. But trying to decide reasons as to why they’ve broken up is better off left for the very talented fic writers on this website.

I think dialogue? it's always the part of my fics that I write first, and then I build the rest of the story around it. I hope it's a solid foundation!

what are your writing weaknesses?

there's a fine line between explaining and over-explaining and I think sometimes I fall into the second category skjdhkjhf. I love some introspection as much as the next guy but I'm working on only including details that feel most pertinent to the story.

thoughts on dialogue in another language?

I love it! I think it can be so special and can be another way to connect readers with the characters and the story. I took Spanish all four years of high school so I'm a little rusty now, and studied French for a while a few years ago and just picked it back up recently! my translations aren't always perfect but luckily I've had some very kind people to check or point these things out for me :)

Plus, the naive mindset to think cowbell only meant "producing more merch" or using the music in TV shows is 😀. an echoey void. complete white. sometimes it glows, sometimes it reflects. there are people sometimes. there are no people other times. frequently, something colorful can be seen. there may be gardens, flowers, little islands sunk into the solid nothing. maybe a city here and there. 

stairs. a sister, pushed. there is not a thud. there is nothing. she does not hit the ground.

mari finds herself having glitched into the real world, amongst actual humans. she must find a way to get back to everyone.

sunny has lost it. he doesn’t know where his sister is. people live forever here. where is she? why would he do this? 

glitching starts. maybe some things clip into each other. maybe textures are missing. maybe a few holes pop up here and there. 

it gets worse.

they’re trying to handle it. it’s hard.

OVERALL INFO

-basil was there to witness sunny push mari

-basil told the others, and although kel and aubrey got angry, they were more worried about mari

-i was somewhat inspired by the album art for hawaii part ii when i thought of the void

-when the void glitches, it turns black. this would be considered something appearing - there is no eye because mari simply disappeared. however, this something isn’t a figment of sunny’s imagination that’s purpose is to remind him of what he did. that’s what it does, though.

-when mari falls asleep in the real world, she “dreams” - but she’s not really dreaming. she goes back to the void in flickers, which causes the glitches. she tries to talk to sunny, but she’s not fast enough.

-everyone is the same age as when the incident happened. very little time has passed.

CHARACTERS

basil -

-slightly taller than his og game counterpart

-has a more serious expression

-somewhat quiet

-after mari falls he begins to wilt.

-as plants do, he depends a lot on others although he doesn’t like to show it

-never talks

-since he can't make expressions, his body language is extremely expressive

-also the occasional tears that seem to appear out of nowhere signal he's sad (obviously

-after mari falls he starts visually glitching, sometimes inverting his colors.

mari -

-fun-loving

-a bit chaotic

-still very kind

-loves to sing, but can get a bit embarrassed if someone is watching

-understands what hero is thinking and feeling better than anyone else (kel is also pretty good at it though)

-once she goes to the “real world”, she appears to “regular people” as just a butterfly

-doesn't talk

-very stiff (made of glass) so he doesn't really have expressive body language

-since he has no face it's hard to understand what he's feeling

-how the fish inside of him act match his emotions though, so if you can figure that out it's a bit easier to understand his emotions

-cracks gradually mend after a bit but the glass is very fragile

-everyone has learned to be careful around him though so he rarely cracks

-however, after mari falls he begins to crack and leak. the fish start dying.

kel -

-verry talkative

-does actually have a mouth! when he opens it the stars are pushed away to make room for it

-mouth is entirely white inside

-his voice sounds like around 100 people speaking in perfect unison

-the eye on his torso is very expressive!!!!

-pretty chaotic and loud

-tries to be quieter just in case his voice gets loud enough to crack his brother

-after mari’s fall, the stars on his body begin to flicker out. new eyes open. new distractions to prevent destruction.

aubrey -

-her form just changes constantly

-the faster it changes the more excited she is

-sometimes 3d, sometimes 2d, sometimes even 1d

-hard to look straight at her

-can only repeat words she's heard before and says them in the exact voice of the person who said them. she hears a lot of things though

-loves colorful things!!!

last night, i had a bit of a shame spiral thinking about all the time energy money i devoted to the 1d fandom. i felt embarrassed for being so loud about something that ended in so much disappointment. it wasn't fun and i know it was probably triggered by being involved in some discussions i hadn't been in so long

so when i opened this ask, anon, it reminded me so much that whatever was lost from that time, so much more was gained. the embarrassment of remembering dancing around like a fool with a rainbow flag for someone who couldn't even say something as simple as "look at all those colors" pales in comparison to the lifelong friendship i gained with these 8 beautiful women all across the globe

nothing will ever compare to the people i met and the way they feel closer to family than any of my blood ever felt

Ugh okay, I know the writers bring her character back, but that is a past Gamora who does not even remember her recent team mates, the Guardians of the Galaxy. And this new Gamora does not show up till 7~ movies later. I absolutely hated watching Gamora die and then the movie showing her abusive dad crying over her, after he physically and mentally abused her for years and literally murdered her "for the greater good". And then of course her boyfriend Peter hear the news and has a mental breakdown. His sadness is so great that the good guys are unable to stop Gamora's dad and thus Endgame happens. I completely understand if you don't want to add her, I just wanted to give her a shot. My anger really stems from Gamora being an abuse survivor, then has to meet up with her abuser who murderers her in cold blood. Especially since she was one of the main characters in Guardians of the Galaxy. And I get the feeling that the writers for Infinity War/Endgame were not in communication or agreement with the Guardians of the Galaxy writer since GotG's writer had to bring her back out of nowhere for his story to work.

Gamora was raised to be a living weapon and she escaped her abusive life and found a new family who loved her and was even repairing her relationship with her (also abused) sister. Her murder was ALL ABOUT her abuser and how he felt sort of conflicted about throwing her off a cliff - and then all about her boyfriend and how upset he was about her death. Like I even liked her and Peter's relationship, but she also had her sister and friends and we never get into how her death affected them. We never get into how horrific her death was or how tragic it is that her life was cut short and what a waste to the universe it was because she was such a hero. It's just about the men's feelings. Ugh. (also yes technically she was brought back from a different timeline, but it's also very clear that Gamora is a different person, with her own story, and that og Gamora is dead and never coming back).

her getting fridged in love and thunder made me so mad because 1. The movie was about her! I know it's a Thor movie but they literally advertised her as a female Thor. And her conflict about her own mortality is at the core of the film. 2. She dies for not just one man, but two men's character arcs! When she dies, it serves as a redemption for the main villain, and it shows Thor a lesson about how being with her wouldnt make him happy. Because she literally died and now he cant be with her! And because of her death, the villain decides not to kill all the gods. So it could have been a self sacrifice except, oh no! She dies from cancer! A completely arbitrary death!

As we all see there is so much Httyd media, why? because it was the most success full movie of the og 4. And from what i read Httyd was always planned to be a triliogy. And the shows that came along? Well money. Brave and Guardians never got a 2nd movie or series why? Well Guardians was a flop DreamWorks actully lost 70Million, so no more Guardians content as for Brave, they just didnt do that.

Now do i say you need to watch all of those around 4 days of content to understand the big 4? Not really, most of the content is about them as a friend group and in that sense the Canon really doesnt matter that much. BUT if you see like an older version of hiccup running around in edits, fanart or something else, thats why. Now in all fairness, I have not seen all dragon content. (Please dont come after me httyd fans) I have seen the first and second movie. So if in fact the 3 movie or the shows have a real inpact on the Big 4 Story wise (while i didnt see any) please let me know.
