I LOVED IT.

It’s honestly disgusting, all of the hate that this movie is getting; it’s so undeserving of it.

It was never meant to be… Idk why that is so monumentally hard for people to comprehend.

Anyway.

Emotionally, I’m kind of devastated right now. Bill was brilliant, Twigs was beautiful; the GORE was fucking magnificent. God… I might have to go see it again tomorrow, for real. I can’t stop thinking about it.

I didn’t cry, but there were a couple of times where I was close, this makeup scene being one of them.

Having Enya’s “Boadecia”paired with it? Gorgeous. Heartbreaking. I got legitimate chills.

I don’t know what else to say, I’m still just…wow.

Is it some Oscar worthy contender that should do a clean sweep this award season? No. But it’s not meant to be, either.

It has great cinematography, was well-acted with a good story, it was brutal and intense, but also a lot of fun to watch.

Just because this film is not a carbon copy of 1994 (which it shouldn’t be, anyway, and if it was, they’d bitch about that, too) doesn’t mean it nor Bill or Twigs or anyone else should be getting shit all over the way that they are.

(Besides, how many Crow sequels were made after Brandon Lee’s death? I mean, what’s the fucking difference?)

Meeting people 35+ participating in fandom spaces is so refreshing. Idk why, but we’ve developed this hive mentality that you’re supposed to stop enjoying things once you reach a certain age. Remember that your favorite dramas, movies, comics, manga, books, anime, cartoons, etc., are written and created by people who have been around the sun for a few decades.

this year my challenge for everyone is to unlearn the association between love and morality. love is not something that is inherently morally good, and the absence of love is not something that is inherently bad. sex without love isn't morally bankrupt, it's just an action. people without love aren't less kind or less good, they're just people. when we can get past this false (and often unnoticed) dichotomy of good love/evil lovelessness then i think we are going to be able to take leaps and bounds in sex positivity, aro advocacy, certain discussions of mental health...

I get why people headcanon that Trucy would call Edgeworth "Uncle Miles" because it represents how close he is to Nick and Trucy and how he's basically part of the family etc. HOWEVER I cannot help but imagine the shock and horror of passersby who hear Trucy call one man "uncle" and one "daddy" as they watch Nick and Miles interact lovingly in public and come to the conclusion that Nick is openly cheating on his spouse with his spouse's brother.

i'm a doll collector, and in my twenty years of collecting i have seen the quality of dolls, doll clothes, and other doll accessories degrade massively within the last decade, with the steepest decline in the last five years. yet whenever mattel does a release for barbie or american girl, everyone is CLAMORING for it. Doesn't matter if the factory face paint is wonky, doesn't matter if the clothing is thin or has loose threads. People will show up to spend their money. pcs and consoles are getting more and more expensive and everyone says that's just the price we have to pay to in order to game. games will release, unfinished, full of bugs, charging you out the ass for expansion packs and stupid shit like that, and we'll just shrug and say "well it's better than nothing."

shows on different networks and streaming services will cancel despite their loyal followings and we just accept that's the way it is now. they will botch storylines and lead fans on for seasons. and this is normal.

wizards of the coast literally used ai art for a magic expansion pack and people still bought it.

we need to stop riding these people's dicks. mattel, wotc, disney, or any other company does not give a fuck about us man. they care about increasing shareholder value. the customer liking the product is literally just an additional perk to them, not the goal.

i just dont understand why we keep doing this to ourselves. they aren't going to change. we gotta stop giving them our support.

I actually think Dorian and Orym should fight more.

Remember when their slowly building tension over and entire episode (full of passive aggressive remarks and blame throwing) led to threats? And how after, Orym thanked Dorian for handing over the crown sadly because he knew Dorian would be mad at him? And Dorian couldn't even look at him because he was legitimately hurt, thinking Orym was disappointed in him for doing what he thought was right? That was peak.

The fact they went from that to their current closeness and trust is the best part of their entire dynamic. Their relationship was hard fought and still will be. They will fight for it because they respect and care for one another deeply, and their disagreements don't change that, only improve it.
