Getting looser with lineart and better at colour schemes and simplifying shading. Is good actually.#It's so much easier to eyeball what a colour would look like in a setting instead of colourpicking the OG palette and struggling with...#...like 9 overlay and multiply and soft/hard light layers #Approximating colour genuinely looks better than forcing local colour into the piece. As long as the values are still there it works out #comic

#my art #jujutsu kaisen #jjk #jjk fanart #jujutsu kaisen fanart #yuji itadori #itadori yuuji #jjk yuuji #been trying some stuff out in an attempt to beat the artblock out of myself with hammers #and i LOVE how it looks but god it takes so long painting like this #i had a ref style i was going for that was a lot more washed out and watercoloury #and to be fair my take on it did start out looking more adjacent to that #u can still kinda see remnants of the initial watercolour washes in the collar of yuuji's jacket in th bottom one #but it Did Not Last fhdjfjjg what can i say im a gouache/oils gal #i can't use soft greys and watery inks i need stark blacks i need the reddest red the colour wheel will provide #one thing i did keep from the refs were the sharp prickly fine lines i think those look real cool against textured colour blocks #anyway ive also been having a lot of fun playing with rly rly harsh lighting on the hair #and even thinner linework put down after the colour as opposed to before #probably one of the reasons why it takes a lot longer but also it mimics traditional art a lot more #ill probably continue playing around with this sort of render ! or at least keep elements of it

lately a taco truck has been parking near the dollar store with the best tacos i've had outside of LA. this works out really great for everyone with taste but the guy with the lunch sub place has been getting really mad about it and won't stop filing complaints even though the truck has all its permits in order and has permission by the property owners to park there (because they also want good tacos). he keeps insisting the truck is stealing his business but local officials keep reminding him that he doesn't sell tacos and the truck doesn't sell subs. finally the sub guy posted his revised 2025 menu on facebook and it now includes a 'taco sub' which is just pre-seasoned ground beef on a sub bun with american cheese.

#original #i still go in there for soft serve ice cream cones because i have a weakness #but c'mon guy. the truck is not why you're struggling. you charge four dollars for overcooked frozen french fries.#he insists the pizza place with the good calzones is also complaining but we haven't heard a word from that guy

Thinking about Ghost with a baby, doesn’t have to be his.

Lounging on the couch, the baby sat on one of his thighs with one big hand supporting their back, knee bouncing slightly more so out of habit rather than the impulse to bounce the kid. He looks down at the child, a smirk twitching the corner of his lip as he goes to tickle their belly. Giggles fill the air as his big fingers press and wiggle at the kid’s sides. It makes his heart swell: seeing such a small and innocent thing hold so much trust in him, see him as a facet of joy and laughter rather than pain and fear.

He tries not to let that feeling sink too deep in his heart as he lifts the baby to his chest, their head tucking itself under his.

He tries and fails when the child’s grip on his t-shirt tightens.
