Scar erasure is horror is so peak, never seen it used? Lil bit of body horror. Give it to Mark Grayson, why not <3
Debbie be defined by something OTHER than men challenge (failed). I am so tired. Make her a person. Please. Can she ever be a person? Can she please?
Oliver does scream plot device, which I feel neutral for, small children tend to be I suppose. Tho it irritates me more when his actions/thoughts don't actually reflect how he's parented by Debbie and/or Mark. Which we've discussed before already, but what really ticks me off is why he looks like a purple human child. Cosplay dye gone wrong ass baby. Who dunked him in grape juice. NOBODY IS PURPLE. And I KNOW this isn't a unique mutation thing because they NEVER bring up how being a hybrid impacts their biology/culture/genes/what have you (at least in show?). THRAXANS ARE ALL BLUE. They're not even different shades of blue. HE'S PURPLE. I am calming myself down. I am calm. Back to the point, Cecil raising Oliver is such a concept...scribbling that down for a oneshot cause, truly, what would that look like? Though, there's something so funny about Oliver still being a little shit and Mark blaming himself anyway. He's such a guilt magnet (affectionate).
AND GASP. Mark failing so hard at raising Oliver, rather than dragging Debbie into it, it's CECIL? The fucked up parental/mentor dynamic of the CENTURY? HELLO? You can't just say this to me, my brain is spinning. At what point does he realize he's over his head? Like, does Cecil get an emergency call only to realize it's a sleep deprived, painfully frantic Mark trying to ask him how to put a shrieking, fussy toddler to sleep? Cecil refusing to change diapers. What does that look like, omg. Does Oliver live there at the GDA and Mark starts visiting like crazy, and there's in-house babysitters designated to Oliver? Shared custody omg. I can potentially see Cecil agreeing only to use as leverage, Mark owes him, and Oliver can be potentially loyal to him?
Why would Oliver be so aware? And, yeah, it's the framing of his origins that's driving my curiosity, here. Because yeah, if he remembers the utter destruction of his own home and his dad's people killing others, would he not have some hostility towards Nolan? Like, is Nolan just described as a "bad guy"? A hero who did "bad things"? Have they ever tried framing murder/death/etc in a way Oliver can understand, he's a child, no? Like how does Oliver like his dad so much? HOW???? Is Mark telling Oliver the fun stories about their dad as he processes how he feels about Nolan? Like it'd be one thing if Debbie doesn't talk about it at all + Mark can't process the full what Nolan did, thus telling romanticized stories. Then it makes Mark's inability to articulate why it's so bad make sense, because he has to face what Nolan did to others/him/Debbie/etc himself. But that's not what they're doing here? This is why this show makes me squint. They just have a dynamic but not how we got here, and it's not quite clear why they'd even act that way to cause this outcome.
CHEW HIS FOOD? I FORGOT THAT?? JUSTICE FOR DEBBIE? WHAT ABOUT A BLENDER BRUH? Also fr, Debbie did SO MUCH for this AFFAIR CHILD and this mf names himself Omni-Man Junior/The kid whatever. TRULY WHERE DID HE? It can't even be a "oh viltrumites genetically/biologically find it difficult to emphasize," 'cause look at Mark??? HE'S ALSO A HYBRID? Why wouldn't Debbie point out Mark used to be the same way if she's raised both? Nolan, like you said, ruined lives. Ruined Andressa's! Oliver would REMEMBER THAT ??? Oliver would SEE any article / post / video about Nolan is HIM DESTROYING ANOTHER CITY? Outright trying to kill his BROTHER. If anything, Oliver could've been so hostile to Nolan he'd want to kill him, just SAYING that, and not quite understanding the depth of death/murder, THUS Mark's inability to refute that THEN stems from a) the shock b) dealing with the thought he doesn't want his Dad to die and still misses him c) acknowledging his Dad has continuously hurt people and hasn't stopped yet, would that be right? Boom, morality dilemma. Or, solidify Mark TRYING to be consistently anti-kill, batman style.
Like this can work, at least for me, but the current setup is confusing????
Also give Oliver ability to make insect-like sounds. Like legit anything. I'm trying to push through wip's, and I keep including Oliver makes a clicking sound (like predator movies) as a baby 'cause it's a noise Thraxans can make, like give me something different??? WHY IS A PURPLE CHILD.
Also curious how you're finding the newest 4th episode! :)
Mark agreeing to go hang out on a beach w Debbie instead of refusing and the beach is Beach City (am now officially thinking too much about this crossover lol)
The way I got caught up on our back and forth I almost forgot this, lol! AND OH MY GOODNESS, IMAGINE? I forget exactly what which point Debbie makes the beach offer, but I’d love when exactly in SU/SUF-timeline they’d go? There’s something so fucking funny to me about them going during the SUF-timeline and always narrowly missing the strange, Steven-shaped mental breakdowns in the back. I know those don’t occur in a single day, but it’s tickling me. How could they miss anything? I don’t know I just think it’s funny.
Though, post-SUF is interesting if Gems can see the similar “world on your shoulders”, Mark has going on! Steven can shunt the narrative in the Gems’ minds, which I think is neat, if I’m not misusing the phrase since the guy’s on the road far away. Or maybe it’s just before Steven goes and they stumble into each other. I’d kinda love Pearl and Debbie interacting, honestly, if they could talk about loving someone who hurt you, hide things from you, even when you thought you knew them so deeply, and they left you to raise a child. Pearl being in a well adjusted space, and Debbie still grieving.
Honestly, the gems could help train Mark, they’re got experience and similar-ish powers in strength, sturdiness, and they can jump/run fast enough for flying to be vaguely similar enough to lecture about, I think. Or Lapis Lazulis, haha! Peridot with her trash can lid! Garnet, I’d love to see if she told Mark anything about his future in vague, well meaning advice. Or even giving relationship advice considering Amber. Or, importantly, how to convince an entire reign to end their colonizing ways, lol. Is Mark perhaps willing to start a war, take advantage of being related to any leaders, or fake his own death to varying results?
In general, there’s something so fucking funny to me about Nolan, in the sake of comparison, being Pink Diamond coded. Like OH, did an important or well respected of the colonizing empire come to earth and learn the beauty of its people and nature, including faking/lying/omitting things about his identity and background to being in, only to feel conflicted when his responsibility still remained, and he tried to free himself from them? Yikes! We’ve been through that before! Like gimme Pink Diamond and Nolan outfit swap rn. This is tickling me so much oh my goodness.
#i adore flash but fair enough#hes kinda the goofy heart i think? and i wonder who GoG's would be tbh#also YEAH THAT'S SUCH A COOL FUCKED UP FEAR!!!#its so funnnnn i love it#also i see the episode doing the whole “oh two diff dudes begging/accepting for death. one denied and one getting their way”#but the recap TWICE IS CRAZY. the narrator was such a jumps scare.#like clips played for mark and eve..... AND A RECAP FOR ALLEN AND NOLAN WITH CLIPS TOO????? WHAT ARE WE PADDING FOR

erm…..posting about an OC via a rushed shitpost was not on my 2025 bingo card!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂get it??? 😂😂😂because his name is bingo??(GETS SHOT)
these are all things he has done or has attempted to do so consider this the full intro post for that freak for now. he’s still too undercooked to fully introduce but damn I love him
#pdbc#I love him. he’s the sole descendant of a royal family and. if you’ll pardon the pun. is royally fucking things up for himself#he could do so much in life and instead decides to be the next Gordon Ramsay……..such wasted potential#did. did I ever mention that part of him. his clan is called the Ramsay clan after all#he wants to be Gordon Ramsay sooooo fucking bad…….#big theater kid gone wrong energy from him#so many of my posts this year have been pdbc related. it Will happen again.#< (in my defense I’m working on other non-pdbc stuff !! but pdbc stuff is easy to make because I don’t have to think about it)#once I’m not so burnt out I’m really excited to design bingo….not even going to attempt to rn#I hate designing outfits but I’m actually looking forward to his bc he has a horrid mix of royal garments and astereotypical butcher outfit#speaking of butchers. butcher vanity? great song absolutely fits him. cannot stop listening to it#surprisingly him being like. a literal cannibal isn’t even all he does. that’s just a…little quirk of his#like ya’d think him eating people would be more important but nah. he’s a POET and a MAGICIAN 😤😤#I’d say he’s one of the most evil characters but…..kinda all of my characters are#sure bingo tries to eat people and bomb people’s homes but there are side characters who put acid in the water supply and aren’t punished#so bingo’s just par for the course honestly#the best thing he’s ever done is install an air conditioning unit. there wasn’t one before bc Mole (his mom) didn’t like them—#—which resulted in people keeling over from heat exhaustion a lot so. good job for fixing that bingo#it’s the bare minimum but that’s pretty good for him so he can have a round of applause for that#I think I might have mentioned Gerbombs in passing but I love them sm#they’re gerbils genetically engineered to blow up when pressure is placed on them#they’re adorable. thankfully they have no concept of death so they’re just chilling with no worries in the world#before you get sad. Sushi rescued most of the Gerbombs and now cares for them so happy ending#no Gerbombs shall die under her watch. I don’t think I could deal with it if too many Gerbombs died#although they’re called Gerbombs they’re actually more physically close to jerboas#they’re so cute. I should draw a Gerbomb sometime#(I should also probably rename them jerbombs considering they’re not gerbils but ehhhhhhhhhhhhh)

I agree their album concepts seem pretty consistent with their music (lack of lore, more rooted in reality), plus i also think that more recent ones (FTS, FML, and Seventeenth Heaven in particular) matched the overall concept/themes of the albums well. Hell ive basically given a whole dissertation to my friend about FTS and FML concepts fitting into their overall narrative. I do admit I'm easy to please so i just like their faces lol but yeah its been nothing but complaints since i got here in 2020 😭 i do see people enjoy stuff so its never been 100% negative but those that are negative are LOUD. Should there be improvements? Yeah sure but like the stuff thats complained about never is what really matters half the time
I will however push my "give every kpop idol a sword" agenda tho bc i wanna see them with swords
yes exactly! and yeah that's true, it's never 100% negative, which is also why i think a lot of it comes down to personal preference and not bad design. bc there have been times i haven't liked a certain design choice or concept photo but i see others praise it and vice versa... but yeah it's just the fact that every comeback it feels like there's a loud group of ppl acting like the the album design or concept photos are the most boring things ever and it's the end of the world when it's really not that serious. and it's okay to not like things without making a big deal out of it or ruining others' fun
and i also totally think it's fine to wish for a certain concept! i too would like to see svt with swords!! but also 9 years into svt's career and they still stick to a pretty realistic concept and don't have lore... i feel like people shouldn't be shocked and upset every comeback that this is the case (and i was just using swords as an example i'm not directing this at you specifically)
like maybe it's time for some people to accept that if they want super crazy fantastical concept photos they shouldn't look to svt for that bc it's just not part of their brand. and if some day they do a concept like that i'm sure it will be super fun and cool and we will all be excited! but people shouldn't be upset when we don't get that since svt and pledis have given us no reason to have that expectation and that is also okay. and it doesn't mean the design or concepts themselves are inherently bad
#melia.ask#runningtospringday#like i've seen multiple ppl complain about 'boring' concept photos of the members just posing with flowers#meanwhile i'm over here loving floral aesthetics and those are my favorite kinds of concept photos LMAO#like i just want to see pretty men with flowers is that so much to ask???#is it a unique concept? no.#flowers have been around forever and ppl have been posing with them forever and will continue to do so#but it doesn't make it a bad concept either#and like it works for a very realistic and grounded spring or summer album!#it's romantic! it's refreshing! it works!#and like not everyone has to like floral aesthetics and has a right to be bored by them#but it does NOT make it a bad concept or design i will DIE on this hill#but anyway

to be honest i think classic sonic as a separate guy sucks and it should have just been a one time thing in generations that they never tried again. sorry classic sonic enjoyers .
#and thats not to say that i think all of the more recent classic sonic media is bad. sonic mania is good. sonic superstars is okay.#and the comics and animations are cute#but is it really worth it . i think the concept of classic sonic being from an alternate dimension#and certain characters being considered ''classic only'' characters kinda sucks. i dont like it.#and recently they seem to have dropped that idea and switched to ''yeah this is totally the same timeline as everything else''#which i dont like either. i dont like them going back and inserting more stuff into the area of the timeline#that we already passed over 20 years ago just to appeal to people who wont touch anything with modern sonic in it#its like theres no winning . maybe they should just stop with the classic sonic . leave him alone#if they think they have to keep making classic sonic stuff or theyll die though why does it have to be canon#why cant it just be a silly fun side thing that they dont take super seriously#also theres nothing stopping them from making 2d games that still use the modern designs like the advance trilogy or sonic rush#i think making games like that more often would be a better compromise than whatever theyre doing with classic sonic

Dragon age the Veilguard: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly
Don't expect too much there, I'm just writing my own subjective, non-organized, badly written critic of the game. Spoilers ahead, so be warned!
The Good is the good stuff, The Bad is the bad stuff that isn't too jarring or that doesn't threaten the whole setting so much so it's okay to just ignore them, and The Ugly is the bad stuff that DOES make me want to fucking die and explode.
The Good:
-It's beautiful. Not a fan of a lot of design choices but it's obviously well made. The landscapes are very pretty.
-The character creator. It's always funny to me when I see some dudebros complaining about it as if they're not purposefully making ugly characters. It has quite a lot of option, nice skin details, scars, tattoos and all.
-I really like the combat. I still think DAO is the superior system but I'm much more happy with a true action rpg than whatever Inquisition was trying to do.
-I'm going to be more objective there and say the maps are better than Inquisition. THAT BEING SAID I love the Hinterlands so I still prefer Inquisiton's bloated open world lmao.
-There's a lot of nice details all around! Neve's metallic prothesis walking sound, the decorations all around, tears in character's eyes, ect.
-Solas. Can't believe I'm saying it as I didn't like him much in DAI and I don't like Solavellan but DATV made me like him very much. He's much more morally grey and less uwu wet cat and I'm here for that. Excellent voice acting of course.
-Mythal. Again, I love whatever Solas and Mythal have going on. It's toxic, it's passionate, it's one sided, and Mythal is a very interesting character IMO.
-Felassan. Again, such a cool and compelling character.
-A lot of NPCs were very cool. Antoine who's singlehandly saving the French's reputation, Evka, The Viper, Strife, Viago, Teia, etc. They're cool and rather compelling.
-I did enjoy a lot of the companion's personal quests. Davrin and Bellara especially as they felt more in line with Dragon Age in general.
-For a game where the Bad Guys are Comically Evil... Johanna Hezenkoss fits the bill and yet she's a delight.
-There's really cool codex entries. Irelin's letter about mourning Arlathan for example. Antoine's letter to Evka should he ever be Called.
-Ghilahn'ain's design.
-I liked the living Blight! OK the darkspawns were ugly af but I still really enjoyed the idea.
-I actually liked the puzzles lmao? I'm sorry but I usually find puzzles fucking annoying in that type of game so I'd rather have something easy and fun than scratching my head in a rpg.
-I was glad to see Valta again!
The Bad: (vaguely in order of importance)
-Unpopular opinion but Assan and Manfred felt forced af. Yeah I got it, they're cute... Now can we go back on uh, the apocalypse.
-The music is boring. Fuck man Inquisition and Origins musics make me cry, but Veilguard's main them... Exists.
-I would prefer the companion to be stationary and being able to talk to them whenever want. They tried something but it didn't deliver.
-The fuck is Inky wearing.
-The fuck is Isabela wearing, but racist edition. Oh well. At least it's an easy fix with a mod.
-The companions have potential but they often lack something. I wish we got more than Lucanis liking coffee. Also, some characters concept from the art book felt so much more interesting. The only character I REALLY was interested in was Davrin because he feels very dragon age-y. A Dalish Grey Warden! That's interesting!
-The Lore seems alright and coherent with the serie so far, but it was just lore drops after lore drops, with no time for reactions, and your companions being sometimes waaaaay too chill about it.
-The overall sanitazing of the world while the grim stuff still somehow being there regarding Tevinter. It's very close to be in the Ugly category but because it's supposed to be there, I'm encline to believe it's still canon and not a retcon, and just a poor presentation. Where are the slaves? We see some of course, and some stuff were legitimately jarring... But because we're confined in docktowns, we don't get to see the ruling magisters and slavers. Docktowns almost seem... Nice. But it doesnt stop there. The Lords of Fortune not stealing artifacts because they respect cultures. The Crows being patriotic vigilantes. Lucanis being a mage killer but only for evil tevene magisters.
-I understand the impossibility to be Evil as you're recruited by Varric and he wouldn't have recruited the local serial killer that drowns kitties for fun. But... You should be able to be aggressive, stern, serious and all. You should be able to play a no-nonsense character who is authoritative and assertive while still following the plot.
-Again, I understand the companions being healthier than whatever DA2 crew had going on (love them tho) but it should have been more like Inquisition. People working together and forcing themselves to make it work for the sake of the world YET fighting and disagreeing on plenty of subjects. And Rook should be able to tell the companion to stfu sometimes. To tell Taash that they're an ass. To tell Emmerich you don't give a shit about his magic and that Manfred is fucking weird and shouldn't exist. To tell Bellara to stop whining.
-On the same note, the companions are all WAY too nice. One their own they're alright, but none of them have some true flaws/secrets/dark past/opposing convictions or whatever. Davrin and Lucanis are almost the only one who are arguing and fighting a bit but it's very tame. We never hear them arguing over politics, religion, or even ways of doing things (except for food lol. why is this game so much about food). If you take Inquisition for example, the companions are ALL working together in the face of a Ancient Evil threatening Thedas. Yet, they still argue about plenty of things. Solas and Iron Bull about the Qun. Vivienne and Solas about the existence of Circles. Varric and Cassandra's fighting is ruthless even when it's about nothing important. Try to show your pride as a Dalish to Sera and she won't take it well. Tell Cassandra that you don't give a shit about the Chantry and she'll disapprove. And still, these persons managed to work together. The excuse of "They put their differences aside because of the current threat" doesn't hold. The companions don't necessarily need DA2's level of animosity between them, but they don't need to all be best friends forever second one. Bellara could be suspicious of Neve for the sole reason of her being a Tevinter Mage. Lucanis too ("Mage Killer"!!!), but because he doesn't trust magic at all. Davrin and Bellara could argue about what it means to be Dalish to them, or argue about their faith!! EVERYONE Should be more worried about Lucanis being an abomination, damn it!
-I understand the Crows we see are not the one experiencing the worst of the organisation since they're highranking members but c'mon... It should be acknowledged at least.
-Some of the dialogues are fucking awful especially at the begining. They repeat themselves so much. The scene with "Nooo Rook you need to help us resolve our problems otherwise we will be too weak to fight the gods!! Rook, do my personal quests or I'll be too sad to fight!!". Harding's "Awkwaaaard". Bellara's quirky uwu manic pixie girl vibes at the begining.
The Ugly:
-Anything related to the elves. For a game centered on elven gods... We get so much yet nothing. Why are they all more or less cool about their "Gods" being real and evil? No one freaking out about having Elgarnan's vallaslin on their face? No crisis of faith? No elves joining them, really? Not a single one? No dalish celebrating their return before realizing the awful truth? No city elves or elven slaves fleeing to them because they have nothing to lose anyway? That's unrealistic. I can understand the Veil Jumpers already knowing the truth, it's more or less explained in the books anyway, but there's no way it's commonly accepted among all dalish clans. Speaking of dalish clans, were are they? And Briala ? Didn't she also control the Eluvian? What about city elves in general? And elven slaves? There's just nothing. The elven pantheon wasn't some myths for the Dalish. It was a religion. Their religion. Damn, imagine Christians learning Jesus is coming back BUT he's in fact very evil and is launching nuclear weapons everywhere? And their only reaction is "Oh no, we have to stop Jesus :(" ? I'm taking the christian example but you could say that about pretty much every religion.
-Where are Fen'harel agents? A few lines and one or two NPC mentioning Solas parting ways with them or even making the Veil Jumpers the ex-agents left behind would have been SO much more interesting than whatever they justified in the AMA. I can't believe they didn't even put A CODEX ENTRY explaining their absence in game. That's lazy af.
-No repercussion on the elves AT ALL? Seriously, realistically speaking, what is the future for the elves at the end of DATV? "Their" Gods almost destroyed the world, "Their" Gods killed countless, "Their" Gods created the Blight, "Their" Gods that many dalish still worshipped only a few years ago. What do you mean humans aren't going to declare open season on them? Like OF COURSE I don't want that to happen, and I'm hoping that idk, they'll found their own country in a reclaimed Arlathan, or that the instability in the south allows some of them to grab positions of power but don't tell me the humans aren't going to feel so fucking justify in their hatred, especially towards the Dalish who never converted to the Chantry. The fact that the endgame doesn't mention ANYTHING about it is jarring. Bioware ffs drop a book or whatever soon I need answers. I need hope. The game is treating the racism against Elves as... Some prejudices humans soooometimes have against them and not... centuries of systematic oppression, genocide, cultural erasure. The City Elf origins, Chevaliers killing Alienage elves for funsies, Celene burning down a whole Alienage, the genocide of dalish clans anyone? All of this is stuff that happened like... Between 8 and 20 years ago. It's not ancient history.
-Blighting Ferelden Beyond Repair, the Venatori Coup in Orlais and Kirkwall's evacuation was mean. Of cours the South is dealing with the blight and a shitload of problem but the "we lost Denerim. And Redcliff. And anything really. Idk if there's survivors. But if there is they'll starve anyway. xoxo the Inky." was just mean spirited I'm sorry. Same as above, Bioware. I fucking need hope for the South. Anything really. They could have stopped as "Yo there's a big Blight in the south and it sucks, Denerim is struggling and we lost villages and all" and that would have been FINE. No need to go scorched earth damnit.
-The lack of worldstate choices. C'mon. I understand not having a lot of them but a list of 6-10 easy questions would have been nice. Who's Divine? Who's ruling in the South? Who drank from the Well of Sorrow? It wouldn't have asked much work to just personalize a few sentences to adjust that. Also, saying they only kept 3 choices so they could really mean something... Liar. The only thing that really has an impact is did u date solas or not. Which fine, of course it matters! But all the other romances, the inquisition disbanded or not, stopping solas or not had NO IMPACT whatsoever.
-Where the fuck is Fenris. Idgaf Inquisition had Leliana when she could die in DAO, so bring Fenris in the Shadow Dragon. He needs to be there.
-The Antaam is such a fucking racist trope I can't believe they did it. Yeah, let make them growl like damn animals.
-Speaking of Qunari, even Taash is... Urgh. Why do you mean they sniff people. Also, their whole storyline on their gender identity was badly written. That scene with Isabela... No. That's not how you apologize. You misgender someone by mistake? Say sorry, correct yourself, move on. That's it.
-Dwarves had cool moments in the game but dang, we really, REALLY needed more of it. So many revelation about them, and while some of them were very well written, it doesn't have enough impact.
-The absence of reactions and dialogues related to your race is jarring. Can't believe I'm begging the game for racial slurs but here we are. EVERYONE in Origins commented on you playing an Elf. A non-human Inquisitor faced struggles as the Herald. Why is Qunari Rook able to roam freely in Minrathous without a SINGLE comment on their race? Same for the elves, to a lesser degree since at least they are not a rare occurence in Tevinter. Can't believe dwarves get so little reaction for all the big reveals. Can't believe elves barely get to react to ELVEN GODS destroying the world or Bellara's guilt about it.
-WHERE'S THE CHANTRY. WHERE. DAMN IT. Even if it's not the focus of the game, I'd expect to still see its influence. Man I'm almost wishing Harding was more of a Chantry Girl.
-Morrigan's whole storyline is an insult to her character.
#aaaaand that's it for me#I needed to write it down#It's a mess but yeah#dragon age#dragon age the veilguard#datv#datv critical#dragon age critical#dragon age the veilguard critical#datv spoilers

Thoughts on Jason Todd’s choice of weaponry?
:D an ask! Yay!
Oooh, lets see, I'll start with the crowbars because I appear to be like one of three people on the entire planet who actually likes them.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/18a9ad91e7e70963f5b012bb203008d3/f3e6918324795307-24/s540x810/b46848a9f06f496ec52d85decd129f5703575975.jpg)
They're a tacky as fuck riff on the fact that Jason's death is central to his character. They overemphasize the manner in which he died, muddy the waters about what part of his death is important to him, and strangely cheapens the manner in which he died through the parody feel of it.
No one seems to really disagree with my analysis here, but I happen to enjoy that about them and think it's very on brand for Jason. What can I say? They're fun!
Best Quality - His Wiggles
This ultra-sharp curved blade used to be his signature character design feature, the way the white streak in his hair is now, and I'm really not sure why it didn't stick!
Best weapon he's ever had, bring it back please!!!!!
The All-Blades
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/ccbbc68d45f7790edee55c7e35d36d03/f3e6918324795307-b4/s540x810/f3c5a19bee0c306d68fed73385b2046fd8f946a8.jpg)
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....
HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM...
I have mixed feelings about the All-Blades. Like much of Lobdell's work: phenomenal idea, poor execution. Giving the guy who is most known for being morally grey a set of powers that is exclusively based on moral absolutes sucks shit, I gotta be honest, and the trick he pulled on the blood blade was cool but ultimately does nothing to solve those problems.
HOWEVER
I want to love them so fucking badly. A set of glowy soul blades is a dope sicknasty off the chain concept and I wish the well wasn't poisoned with the moral implications and the restrictions to use them only on the "Untitled", a set of enemies that only exist for Jason so far as I can tell. If someone seriously took Jason down a magic based path that removed the DnD alignment chart bullshit, I would be so game to see them come back! Hell I wouldn't even insist on a better cooler design for them!
...though uh, yeah those are the least interesting magic sword designs I've ever seen tbh
Normal Ass Swords
They're alright I guess. Like, there's nothing in it really, but it's not bad?
Guns - Real Bullets
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/de870aa9ab32550b3b1497d48220deff/f3e6918324795307-9a/s500x750/cf52178e915ff62eaabc788435e33dbdce3814a6.jpg)
Excellent, evocative yet simple, straightforwards and to the point. It makes hella sense thematically to boot, love this for him, please give him back his pistols and miniguns and shit
Guns - Rubber Bullets
Hate. HATE. hate ick disgusting bad NO.
I just fucking hate rubber bullets, like, as a concept. I refuse to accept "non-lethal" bullets as a valid use of gun, either in real life or in fiction. Guns are for putting many holes in things very fast!!!! If you're gonna use a gun, fucking well own up to that!!! Do not play this silly ass game of pretending that you can change out the material and do the same things as with lead bullets but with the video game status effect of "non-lethal" applied. YOU ARE GIVING PEOPLE SMALL CIRCULAR BRUISES. This is still harmful, yes, ooph ouchie, but it is not even slightly a good use of a gun, you are wasting holster space, and carry weight, and the physical materials used to make it all!!
JUST USE A FUCKING STICK! YOU DON'T RUN OUT OF STICK AMMO!
My belief in his capacity to take out enemies is shattered the instant those fuckers are on panel. Maybe this ain't entirely rational, or realistic to how fights go with rubber bullets IRL, but I hate them so much on principle that I will ignore any counterargument you might have that they'd work. I will die on this hill. Rubber bullets BAD. Please stop making him use this!!
Bombs
Love it, give him more bombs forever
ka-BOOM!!!!
His Brain
This is actually his best weapon - sorry wiggly knife, you're being shunted down to number 2 on a last minute technicality! I think Jason is at his best when he's outsmarting people and making long term fucked up schemes to ruin people's lives.
He's so good at it! It's so fun to watch him do it!
Genuinely a shame that this facet of him was mostly lost after Flashpoint, though to give credit where it is due, in Rebirth Jason did ruin the Penguin's life in an impressively elaborate way, which I did really enjoy. I want to see him be a tactical deliberate menace to one person in specific again idk, that's part of why I do kinda agree that he works better as an antagonist than a protagonist - which it should be noted does not mean I think he works better as a villain necessarily, his ethics aren't what matter here - he's just had his best moments as the schemer, and it's hard to have a protagonist schemer even when you make them ethically the good guy.
I hope you enjoyed my nattering on about Jason's weapons :D thank ye again for ask!

Concept: Kris, Mettaton and Mew Mew have formed Hometown's first ever trans support group.
No discussion takes place, they just sit on plastic chairs in the school gymnasium and play Super Fighting Brothers on the wheely TV, sketch their edgy gender-envy-projection OCs (you can probably guess what MTT and Mew Mew's tend to look like, both are still ghosts of course), listen to nightcore, and consume obscene quantities of cheap fruit juice, slimy brown apple slices, Ice-E's pizza and dry grocery store cookies off of a folding table (provided in corporeal and non-corporeal varieties by Toriel (they're all hungry teens given a snack fund, they ravage that table every time)).
They're the school's only non-sports club (and Jockington is the only member of every sports team), so they pretty much get all the funding they want within reason, but all they've really bought is a trans flag to hang on the wall when Hometown Public School Trans Youth Support Group is in session.
They meet up once a week.
This is the only form of trans "care" any recieves because Kris doesn't care due to their natural androgyny and Alphys isn't a robot-designing, life-size-anime-girl-fascimile-owning royal scientist in DR. Despite all 3 of them being different flavors of trans, they're ride-or-die about their club and each other's validity.
(granted, as for why MTT and Mew Mew are teens, that would require some AU-ing... while the idea of Mew Mew and Mettaton being adults and serving as trans role models for Kris is both enticing and more vanilla-friendly (although both seem to be closeted in vanilla, so...), the idea of a cringe-ass high school club friend group made up of an edgy emo enby, a transmasc glitter femboy and a transfemme pastel lolita anime magical girl... like, please tell me you see the lite AU potential here?
Kris would still befriend Suzie, of course, who would not understand what being trans was ("I just thought humans were... like that" and "ok... you're a boy, and you're a girl... and? Ok?? Good for you???Kris, these are just two normal ghosts, I don't get it.") and join in on a "support group" meeting to "learn."
She'd eat an unfair amount of the snacks, get too into an intense match of SFB, and laugh at Mettaton and Mew Mew's bad half-demon-half-angel OCs before making MTT cry, which would send Mew Mew into a white-hot protective rage, forcing Suzie to apologize under threat of violence, which she does before admitting Metta's half-oni bishounen samurai OC was "kinda sick, honestly." She'd then walk home with Kris, excited because "Kris, that's what "transgender" is? That was cool as hell! I'm in! I'm trans now!" She'd sign up for the "club" the next day.
She'd continue to be a girl, but when prompted would tell people she was "totally like 100% trans" and not elaborate. She still wouldn't really "get" it, because they're just a boy, girl and other thing with nothing seemingly special about them, but would assume that her experience of poring over terrible "How to Draw Manga" books from the library, stacking classroom chairs into thrones, roughhousing over alleged video game "cheating," and getting free terrible cookies is what "being trans" is.
Ok, so I literally pulled this out of my ass as I typed, but omg I think this could actually make a decent fanfiction? Imagine the possibilities... do they still find the dark world, and what would MTT and Mew Mew's alt forms look like? Do they ever meet up in other areas, like the library or the park? Sleepovers? Birthday parties?? Conventions??? Hell, this has big askblog potential, too. Now I want to write this, if my ADHD will let me... cute, nostalgic slice-of-life about awkward small-town baby-queer teens being cringe and free... holiday "episodes..." misfit friendships... trans joy...

As goofy as it is, specifically being grim, grimy and gritty to the point of being goofy, I think the greatest achievement of the Warhammer universe as a work of art is the way it manages to glorify war without glorifying war. I've always been crossways with war games, because war is not a game. It's a sickening waste - everything that has ever been invested in war has been wasted in war. Materials, efforts, invention, technology, not to speak of human lives, all that is sacrificed is sacrificed as an atrocious waste. No human being is worth less than their weight in ground meat. The entire machinery is shitty, exists solely because it has to exist, and only has to exist because everyone else is doing it, too. If nobody was doing this shitty fucking thing, then nobody would have to do this shitty fucking thing. The entire concept of organised warfare is shitty in its very essence.
And the Warhammer universe's response to that is "lmao I know, right?" It's an absolute unapologetic crapsack world, that pulls no punches about how bad this universe where There Is Only War absolutely fucking sucks. Those with a capacity for a noble soul and willing self-sacrifice shit themselves when they die just as much as unwilling collateral damage casualties. The sheer extent in which human beings can be objectified and dehumanised - sometimes straight-up literally - is done with such casual callousness that it's downright deliberately comical. Everything being bleak and shitty is a defining characteristic of an universe defined by war, because everything being bleak and shitty is the very nature of war.
As much as the sheer bleak shittiness of it is taken to a cartoonish, unapologetically comical extreme, I can appreciate the honesty of the approach. And that makes me able to enjoy it just as much as my boyfriend, who does like guns and war games for their own sake. With the aknowledgement that War Is Fucking Shit out of the way, I can agree that the design choice of a tank with a goddamn church organ built on top of it just unironically looks cool.

This is a rant about the 2023 Doctor Who specials. I was typing up another post about why I do like a bunch of other Who stories then got distracted so decided to make this.
I normally really try to be positive about Doctor Who. Everyone's tastes are valid, and if you like the 2023 specials I am genuinely glad that you do! I don't think these specials are objectively bad or the Death of The Show or anything like that, I just personally Do Not Like Them and have decided I want to rant about why. If you want some insight into how I think about these stories (or also don't like them and want to see someone else talk about why they didn't work for her) I hope you enjoy! But if you don't wanna read something like that, skip this and I promise I'll be nicer next post.
So I should probably start by saying that I am a Known Thirteen Defender and consider The Power of the Doctor to be my favorite episode the show has done, so it's fair to say that these three specials were probably never gonna be my favorites following that.
I also wasn't a huge fan of the Tenth Doctor on tv. He's been redeemed in my eyes by Big Finish and Titan Comics, but his tv run didn't do it for me. This means, much as I think David Tennant is a cool person (from what I know about him anyway), his return wasn't something I was exited about. I was exited to see Ncuti Gatwa as the new Doctor, so my reaction to the reveal that nope! David Tennant again! was basically anger that Gatwa was getting benched (and, yes, I know that the whole reason they did this was that Gatwa was busy and couldn't have done these specials. Still doesn't change my emotional reaction to that twist).
And finally, I cannot express in words how much I was not interested in Donna Noble returning. Don't get me wrong, I think Donna is a fantastically written character. But the reason she is so fascinating is because she is deeply relatable. She is a character who the audience is expertly designed to relate to and someone they would like. Meanwhile I, and I cannot stress this enough, am nothing like Donna Noble. I think I would like the character a lot more if I felt like she contrasted with the other Tenth Doctor companions, but she's the third modern-day earth human in a row, and I'm not interested in that archetype. So the result is I just kind of think of Donna as "that time they did Tegan again" and that's that.
All of this is to say that I doubt I would have totally loved the specials even if they'd been great. I wasn't interested in the core concepts. But even beyond that, they dropped the ball in my eyes.
So, the Star Beast.
I actually really like this episode for most of its runtime. Its an adaptation of a comic story from the 70s, and it does a great job balancing being faithful to its source material and actually being a good 2020s tv episode. I'm maybe not the hugest fan of the trial scene - the comic has a much more action-oriented way it handles the reveal - but overall, I really think this episode does a good job. I also love Shirley, and she was basically replacing Osgood. I love Osgood. Selling me on a character who was Osgood's replacement was gonna be hard, and they actually did it. Shirley is great. Rose is also great, too - like, she's not that deep or interesting, but like. I cannot emphasize enough how seeing a trans woman of color matters. And she's written well enough for the most part.
Of course then it falls apart at the end. The Doctor has to return Donna's memories and then it turns out she isn't going to die after all! Because she gave some of this energy to her daughter! And she can just give up the rest!
Okay, I am against any sort of "Donna's memories return" plotline, because Donna losing her memories is the emotional core that underruns all of her time with the Tenth Doctor and his time after her. Like, in my opinion, that one fact - that Donna loses everything she grew into while traveling with the Doctor - is the emotional underpinning of the back half of the Tenth Doctor era, so removing that makes that whole arc seem a lot cheaper and shallower in retrospect. I was expecting the midwipe thing to be undone, but I was expecting it to be an arc over all three episodes.
And all of that would apply if they had pulled this off well, but as you can probably tell, I do not think they did that. The "Rose got some of the Metacrisis" twist is decently pulled off, but the "we can let the regeneration energy go" thing... after how much grief the Tenth Doctor went through over this stuff, the concept that this would just not occur to him because he was a man (??) makes no sense to me. If there was a viable solution, he would have found it. And saying that women just intuitively get this better is super confusing and off-putting. And, for the record, I am in fact a woman.
I don't really have much to say about Wild Blue Yonder. It's basically a great example of a Meh episode for me. I don't care for it, but that's mostly because a lot of it feels like "the Doctor and Donna, back as normal for a new adventure!" and like I said above this isn't gonna be all that interesting if I don't like Donna. The actual barebones plot - the episode's structures and twists - is pretty good, but I haven't gotten a chance to like the new Doctor yet and I'm not into the companion.
And then the Giggle comes around and it has the Doctor commit mitosis out of nowhere and robs Ncuti Gatwa of having a proper post-regeneration story and doesn't even utilize the guest characters and makes Donna and Mel seem Special To The Doctor instead of the companions who I actually like who were just on the show and like I'm sorry but why did we have to leave Yaz and Ace and Tegan in the dust like that and (takes a deep breath).
Okay, let's go through all of that, but more slowly.
Much like The Star Beast, my problems with The Giggle are mostly about how it finishes. I have less good things to say about the build-up, but there's nothing all that bad. My only gripe is that for having Kate and Shirley and Mel, none of those characters feel like they had to be there - none of them do much except explain the plot to the Doctor. They don't really help resolve it. Compare The Power of the Doctor, which utilized all of its guest stars incredibly well - each of them was crucial to the narrative and the story as presented would not work without any of those characters doing the things they had done. (I guess you could argue Graham as an exception, but I feel like his setting up of the support group at the very end was more than enough to justify his presence in the narrative). This leaves Kate, Shirley, and Mel feeling underused.
And then we get to the bigeneration scene. Okay, first of all, the concept came out of nowhere. I've seen people defend it by pointing out all of the other things in the show that came out of nowhere, but, like. They had the basic lore of how regeneration worked locked down back in the 70s. Messing with that now doesn't feel like adding something new to the mythos, it feels like messing with a preexisting thing for... reasons?
And like that's the thing about the bigeneration. I just don't understand why, narratively, this makes a better story. Like I don't like the Timeless Child stuff either, but I can see how Chris Chibnall was going for new narrative opportunities. I don't see how we can return to Fourteen after this story and make an interesting narrative out of it without trampling on the point this story is trying to make: that the Doctor deserves to retire for a bit.
(Which is deeply funny if you stop to remember the amount of times the Doctor has been stuck in one time and place for some reason, but I don't need to get into that one).
I'm bothered by bigeneration mostly because of the fact that they robbed Ncuti Gatwa of a post-regeneration story. Having the Doctor recover from a regeneration and work out who they are is something I really really value and skipping over that with Gatwa is a disservice to him and his Doctor, in my mind.
The catch game also feels weird because Doctor Who is all about winning by being smart and brave and kind. Being good at catch isn't really smart or good or kind, so it being the solution feels like a cop out.
And finally, the show having the Doctor go and live with Donna stung for me, because, how many times can I say it, I don't care about Donna. However, we just left Yaz (my favorite NuWho companion), Ace (my one of my favorite classic series companions), and Tegan (who I don't love quite as much as Ace but also love very much), so the show going out of the way to claim the Doctor changed his face because he needed to find Donna to "come home" specifically feels like a slap in the face for all three of them.
I think that last bit is the reason I stay salty about the Giggle even over a year later. I acknowledge that Donna is a great companion, and I don't think I have to like her for her to be great. But to put her above three of my favorite companions like that stings.
And what really kills it for me is that I can see such a great story in this trillogy.
Like, imagine the Star Beast going as seen, except Donna actually dies when we expect her to. She saved London. She saved her daughter. But she died to do it. The Doctor, dealing badly with his grief, tries to flee in his Tardis, but Rose manages to follow him on board, demanding answers as to why her mom is now dead.
This leads straight into Wild Blue Yonder. The Doctor wants to get Rose home but they're both grieving Donna and she doesn't trust him one jot and blames him for her mother's death. The Not-Things try to play into this - driving a wedge between Rose and the Doctor, but the two manage to work together to work out what's going on and escape with their lives. In the process, they both heal a little. The Doctor accepts that Donna made her choice, and Rose accepts that the Doctor didn't kill her mother.
And then when they return to Earth in the Giggle, they are able to work together to stop the Toymaker. At the end, the Doctor is shot and actually regenerates as normal, but he's able to use his regeneration as a distraction, giving Rose the room to defeat the Toymaker. She is then able to help him get through his post-regenerative process and they leave on good terms. Rose is still grieving her mother, but she can understand why Donna chose to travel with the Doctor and she makes sure he knows he is still welcome in their house.
Like, come on. It's the same plots, basically, but it actually has an emotional arc that lasts longer than one episode, is in line with prior emotional arcs, and uses the heavily advertised trans woman of color that we all got exited for instead of benching her after the first story and gives her a good deal of depth.
(Yes I know if RTD had killed Donna off and replaced her with a trans woman of color there would have been so much bigoted backlash but I still think it would have been a better story).
Okay, I'm done now. If you have any counterarguments to this or want to add on to any of this, I do want to hear it! One thing I love about Doctor Who is that different people love it for different reasons and love different things. If you're a fan of The Giggle and read this anyway, then massive respect for making your way through all of this and I'd love to see you talk about why you loved it so much!

Speaking of waterproofing oils, do the harpies of Siren have preen glands?
Is that something they were designed with originally/evolved to have or do they just routinely oil their feathers manually?
they don't have specific isolated glands for the purpose, instead each feather has an associated oil gland (like each follicle of hair in human skin). idk if this is viable at all but i did say that they don't have any recombinant bird genes with the sole exception of the feathers so that's a bit of a weird zone for them. winged humans was not a new concept for the genetic engineers, in fact it had been done many years before anyone even thought to settle Siren, as i think "can we make them fly" would be almost the FIRST thing a genetic engineer would try to do at the very dawn of this technology. so for the harpies on Siren, they borrowed an established, commercially-licenced genetic code & then did their own shit to it. in that sense, the Siren engineers could not pick and choose what physical traits to give the harpies, only alter their enzyme production & gas exchange surfaces so they could survive on this new planet. does it make sense probably not
to go under the water you have to basically give up flying for a short time - the heavy oils etc wreck feathers until they can be washed out and that's all well and good if you have a safe place to stay while you're out of the water, or if you can guarantee that you won't need to fly suddenly. for much of Siren's history this wasn't really possible; the wildlife and general structure of the planet made it so that "get away quickly" is the best guaranteed method for any of the harpies to survive. hopping on land serves this purpose. any kind of sacrifice in the ability to Get Out Of There (which aquatic adaptions would necessitate) was a bad one while infrastructure was still rudimentary.
more recently in history (by Qedivar's time anyway) the simple maths of survival are no longer quite so important to the lives of Siren's inhabitants, especially in the built-up areas on the Eastern continent. there are sea farms which are fenced off from predator ingress, many of the local wildlife have been deterred from their historic ranges and people have the space to branch out into tertiary industries, hobbies, and other activities which aren't just Eat Or Die. so shortwing harpy populations, being extremely ready to adapt rapidly to changing conditions, have begun to give rise to greater numbers of individuals with adaptions which in past years would have been a death sentence or at least very unpopular (like Qedivar's flightlessness). I don't see why not for aquatic adaptions popping up up here or there and sticking around, especially as fishing is a highly lucrative industry which still hasn't become fully 'exploited' like farming has (although one of the 'future' Siren stories i've also thought about is a whaling vessel story hehe)
#i mean the adaptions aren't like. 'oh i was born with The Aquatic Wing Type'#but if your wing type can let you exploit the water more then great. ur more likely to have kids. i guess#setting: siren

What Makes A Liminal City
in a lot of stories i see gotham city written as having a high ecto concentration or low ecto concentration but no one really elaborates on why that is, so this is my take on it.
Gotham city is not liminal but it does have a city spirit (lady gotham), while Amity park is highly liminal.
ghosts are created due to many different reasons, (emotions, ideas, concepts), ectoplasm based ghosts and spirits are stronger, but that does not mean that ectoplasm is necessary to create ghosts, magic based ghosts do exist ex:deadman. which means that even without a high concentration of ectoplasm it is very possible for gotham to have a city spirit.
most would assume that a place that has constant death would be high in ectoplasm, but i believe that when someone dies a small amount of ectoplasm is used from nature to send that person to their designated afterlife/the afterlife they believe in because ectoplasm comes from the infinite realms, while the creation of an ecto-based ghost requires a much larger amount of ectoplasm.
so, due to the high death rate in gotham there is not enough time for the natural ecto to replenish before another person dies, even with the lazarus pits(im not too sure about those) there is barley enough ecto to send people to the afterlife, and while emotions do generate ectoplasm, positive emotions turn into ecto very fast while negative emotions take a long time to dissipate, they linger (thats why places that experience bad things give off bad vibes) and gotham doesn’t have enough positive emotions.
in other places it’s in balance, with places that are mote remote and have less people (like the woods/cabin in the woods) having more ecto, and those having more people (cities) having less ecto due to more people dying.
amity park is the exact opposite of gotham, being high in ectoplasm because of extremely low death rates( the only reason its not nonexistent is because people still die due to old age and illness), it has a low population where everyone knows everyone else, positive environment, and the ghost portal, means that amity is the most liminal place that can exist on earth.
so, question: what about jason todd in this situation?
jason died in a remote warehouse so he satisfied the ( remote place, less death=more ecto, high emotions) conditions to create a ghost, then he was moved to a place low ecto ( gotham) while he was forming a ghost, so it became stuck in his body causing to revive, the low ecto environment not allowing him to recover his mental facilities, then he was dumed into the contaminated lazarus pit, those that get pit rage usually don’t survive the madness, and it is only jason moving to a place that didn’t have contaminated ecto(gotham) that he didn’t get worse, but he also didn’t get better because there was no pure/natural ecto in the air to filter out his bad ecto, if he was in amity instead he would have recovered naturally without the need of interference on his own in a few months or years depending on how bad it was.

This might be very random, but well, have you ever thought about creating a fanchild for the TPOF trio? Just curious. /English is not my first language./
Hey anon!
I have thought of it but im still thinking of lore and character designs so i havnt talked much about it. But so far ive made both Mason and Celia kids! Nothing for Derek yet because i have yet to figure out a good character design. But here. This is Teddy and Amber.
Amber was found at a young age (possibly 2-3) after being dumpted in the forest and left to die by her unknown parents. Mason found her and took her in and raised her as his. I like to imagine they have a Hopper and 11 bond (from stranger things). Shes a bit nonverbal due to the fact Mason never taught her properly how to speak or write but she can make nice cabins! She likes woodworking ect and later on makes her own cabin no to far from Masons. Shes aware of the outside world but does not want anything to do with it. Shes happy in her own lil cabin in the woods.

Teddy is Celia and Harol's kid. I dont have to much lore for him yet but basically when he was younger he was heavily abused by Celia due to the fact he looked so much like his dad. It was so bad Harold had to keep Teddy away from her to prevent her from hurting him but he was also very absent in Teddys life due to just not caring about him at all. Leading Teddy to have not only mommy issues but daddy issues aswell. He was basically raised by the maids in the house. I like to think he has the alcoholic gene leading him to start drinking at a young age. And its easy to get his hands on alcohol because im sure either Celia or Harold have a stash somewhere on their house

Dropping random One Piece ideas bc this is it now. This is how I cope.
Buggy focused bc I love this little blue haired buffoon
Buggy
• AuDHD
• BPD
• gender is a performance and he LOVES THE SPOTLIGHT BABYYYY
• Buggy is actually a year or so younger than Shanks, and they both use this as an insult point for arguments. Buggy calls him old man, Shanks calls him a teeny tiny little clown baby, Buggy punches Shanks, Shanks cries dramatically, the works.
• in my perception between them, their relationship could go either way - I love the interpretation of them seeing one another as brothers, I love the interpretation of them being lovers, I think either one fits them and it's precious and depending on the Shuggy flavor of the day. It's never both at the same time though. One or the other.
• Buggy has always been terrifyingly flexible. It was waved off when he was very little, but it was only around the time Crocus joined the crew that he noticed Buggy was much more flexible than most kids his age. Turns out baby blue has hypermobility syndrome. The Roger pirates helped him learn wrapping techniques to help stabilize his wrists and knees and hips, his biggest problem areas, but after the Devil Fruit Fiasco, he can and will just drop a limb. Floating is so much easier on bad pain days.
• Buggy still wraps and braces his body when he can, but he also hides most of them beneath his clothes. Few have seen him freely in braces. Cabaji and Mohji are the most familiar with that. Ritchie takes his role thereof as a living, furry weighted heating pad.
• kinesthetic and visual stimming Buggy my beloved.
• sometimes he's just. Touch Alvida. Not in a weird way, just... her Devil Fruit makes her skin and hair feel absolutely DIVINE and he can spend hours just. Playing with her fingers or brushing her hair. He's embarrassed by it.
• he has a very meticulous skin and hair care routine. It's one of very few routines he keeps to. Not even being in prison stopped it.
• he's actually really damn good with money and running a business. The situation with the Cross Guild was a Bad Time, Bad Place, Bad Luck situation, which is honestly just his brand at this point.
• He was a warlord for all of a few months, but in that time, he did, in fact, have to attend a few meetings, and he did, in fact, make a friend! A friend nobody ever expected.
• Boa Hancock and Buggy are the most underrated Mean Girls Squad ever and I'll die on that hill, I think they'd be so funny as friends. Ask me more on my Boa Buggy Besties ideas please I am begging I love them so much
• Cross Guild happens, and it goes fairly similar to Canon, but Buggy quite literally within that three week time frame got the entirety of his loan back AND the interest and was like "hey so like. Did you still want this or-?"
• the mercenaries at Karai Bari are all very progressive. Buggy is a lax ruler, by most standards, but he puts his foot down firmly regarding bigotry, racism, sexism, etc.
• Buggy is not actually human, but he doesn't know that. He was orphaned at a VERY early age, was adopted by Roger pretty young, and he doesn't really remember much pre-piracy. He does know his genetics are a little weird, #ThanksCrocus, but not much beyond that. This may be Important later on if anyone wants some silly little concepts
• demisexual nblm, but once he catches feelings, he becomes a harlot harlequin
• once took off a limb and forgot where he left it. Has genuinely devoted microchipping his limbs.
• some people have comfort activities like hiking or painting. He makes bombs. It's very soothing and he likes the BOOM
• has a multitude of explosives btw; everything from large range, highly damaging, lethal weapons, to flashy, mildly inconveniences. He once made a batch of mini muggy balls full of itching powder just to see if he could and now it's his favorite thing to prank people with. ((Yes, he designed those while a Warlord. Yes, he tested it on the Navy. No, he was never definitively caught.))
• when he's busy, he ties his hair in a bun and puts pens, pins, etc in his hair, ends up looking like a porcupine or sea urchin.
• he has a really bad habit of hyperfixating for hours upon hours on end. Galdino, Alvida, Mohji and Cabaji have a rotation system to check on him if he hasn't been seen for 5 or more hours. They'll drag him away from his work (some more gently than others), make him eat, drink, etc. ((Alvida huffs and puffs about it, but she's also among the first ones to wipe a grease smear from his face, look him over head to toe and determine whether she's pulling the Girls Night card. She will die before admitting that she adores this bastard.))

I tried to use search before asking, so apologies if this has already been covered, but I was wondering - what's the dynamic between humans and housepets in BB? The original books tend to frame housecat life as dull and stifling even in the eyes of housecats themselves, in line with the popular opinions among people who oppose the idea of keeping cats indoors. Is that maintained here, maybe in light of the fact that cats in this universe are highly intelligent animals whose needs are less likely to be met by the common pet owner, or are there housecats in BB who are happy with their housefolk? Are there housecats who see and bond with their housefolk as family? How well do humans meet their pets' needs, broadly speaking; does Albion hold similar perspectives and/or policies to the UK on cat care and stray management as far as indoor-outdoor?
This is where the logical conclusion of cats having been sapient all along kind of starts to clash with canon's... weird thoughts on what normal cats should be able to do
For the record: Unequivocally I advocate for keeping cats inside. Outdoor cats are bad, for the cat and for the environment. This goes for the UK too, your cat is not special, it is a killing machine, England did not evolve to accommodate millions of free predators.
(An overpopulation of predators starves and kills the excess, and then prey populations rise in turn in a natural cycle. Domestic animals are fed by humans which keeps the population artificially high, interrupting this cycle)
But, the thing is:
REAL cats are not sapient. They're animals. BB cats have human intelligence.
(Even canon... that's not a cat. Cats don't form language, or make government, or have a concept of land stewardship.)
SO here's how things are different in Albion;
Only domestic cats are sapient. Something about domestication quirked cats, specifically.
This ONLY hit cats; probably because they domesticated themselves instead of on purpose by humans.
Lynxes, servals, lions, etc, exist but are nonsapient.
Probably because of their ancestry, cats don't naturally form large, structured society. The average clowder is a loosely connected group of friends and family.
It's normal and not damaging for cats to go several months living alone, unlike a human. They don't NEED to live in groups.
So culture can die pretty quickly if a clowder is interrupted in some way. They don't have a problem with taking their closest relatives and striking out.
SEE: The Nomadic Group that BB!Jake/Sparrow is part of, Wind Coalition homesteads, the cats that live in the various farms above Ravenpaw and the Barleys.
3 - 5 is the group average. Usually half of the members will be related and kittens leave at a certain age (usually 2 or 3)
15 cats is a large clowder. Clan cats are an anomaly with densely populated "Clans."
but Clan cats are absolutely put to shame by the tribe, which has 3 Wards which are practically cat cities of 50+
The most common types of romance closer resemble BloodClan's matriarchy or Smoky's polycule. Clan cat romance is also an anomaly.
The average size of a litter is 2, as opposed to canon which is 3, and opposed to reality which is 4 - 8
They are also very unlikely to ever birth more than 6 litters. Most reproductive cats will have 2.
Like humans, they also don't have a litter at the first onset of puberty. First litters tend to come around 2 years.
So to begin with, these cats aren't like real ones. A single pair of real cats can have over a hundred children in their lives.
They also have a more drawn-out adolescence. 6 months is the START of puberty; similar to being a 13-year-old human.
But anyway, onto HOUSECATS
Unequivocally the best way of life, even for these cats.
They do have a habit of jimmying open objects, more than real cats. There is a large market for "pet aware" design, like inlaid locks on windows, chains on fridges, and jams in drawers.
However. They are just as lazy.
Feline-specialist biologists have to come up with "tricky" trials to test their intelligence. Cats do not care about pleasing humans like dogs do.
Rural areas are best for keeping these cats. They do really well on farms.
People who keep cats in car-infested or dense areas are advised to keep their cats indoors. Not only are cars and crowds a danger, but ferals are often hostile towards so much crowding.
In some ways, you can compare these cats to monkeys more than cats, with their troop structures.
AND SPEAKING OF MONKEYS...
Like monkeys, problem clowders are subject to animal control raids. It is NOT unheard of that a clowder gets territorial or starts biting people.
Usually the individual cat is captured and dealt with. Sometimes the problem is so bad that there will be a roundup.
That's excessively rare though. These are very politically unpopular, people love cats.
And cats love people! There's really bad and awful people out there, and really bad and awful cats; but they're the exception, not the rule.
There's a sentiment in the universe that dogs are direct and cats are roundabout; cats are occupied with puzzle toys and novelty, dogs like to be commanded.
They respond to music like parrots. Jessy can change a record in her owner's victrola. Her owner is a himbo and just thinks it's a trick her previous owner taught her, not stopping to question how she had an old owner who also had a victrola and taught her how to change records. In 2012
Cats are still easy to keep, in spite of all the additions. A really smart cat can be entertained with toddler toys. Most are fine with a friend and 30 mins of playtime a day.
They do a lot of sleeping.
Most cats do get neutered and spayed at 6 months. Housecats don't usually see it as a big deal, or chalk it up to the price of a good home.
Clan cats find that SHOCKING and sickening. How can you think something like that is not a big deal??
But they just... don't. BloodClan too.
Clan cats are taught to fear lots of aspects of housecat life, which feeds into their xenophobia. It wasn't always THIS bad-- it really turned for the worst under Flystar of SkyClan.
But anyway forget them for a moment
There ARE a few downsides of being a housecat. There's a total lack of agency here, for one
Bumble and Turtle Heart couldn't control their owners adopting Tom. Twolegs often take kits at a certain age, and you may never know where they went.
A human can die and not have a home for you to go to. They can be abusive or neglectful. A new one can be brought in who hates or can't be around cats.
Problems, but, not INHERENT ones y'know? Most housecats do have good homes.
Anyway, TL;DR
BB!Cats are slightly different than real cats because I am leaning into the fact that they speak a real language, with the higher intelligence that implies.
In addition, I treat Housecats as a "Culture" to fix, on the same level as the other canon groups that get treated as inferior to Clan cats (Tribe, Guardians, etc). "Culture" because, obviously, Every Single Housecat Ever doesn't share a culture lmao. But I hope that makes sense.

Crepinlore and the 30-50 random games 90% of fandom has never heard about
This post, like everything else about this blog, is very self-indulgent. I discovered many things during its making, and I simply can't not share. So, let's begin with something you likely have literally never heard about, and go to more popular things from there:
KROSMASTER ARENA 3D
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/2b4cf42e4c734e86b0df568270865383/38e913e62f0cd704-38/s540x810/70fc8e663162368ef61837dab1566c1a44f3828f.jpg)
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/fd868912fb2be409c07bc6e2f3c3f87d/38e913e62f0cd704-e2/s540x810/2e4f77031bd75228d4dbea3ab98bde82735e6f5b.jpg)
Krosmaster arena online was a video game it seems nobody played, and honestly, I am mentioning it here because I fear that if I don't document it, it will disappear, and it will turn out that it was simply a vision I had, as if in a David Lynch movie. Evaporating, like tears in rain.
I don't think anyone ripped/tried to rip/found a way to rip the models from it — and considering the fact they're pretty... mobile ad-core, not much may have been lost.
Anyway, here's Keke beating the shit out of some guy.
Wakfu Les Gardiens
youtube
Joris appears in the quest "The Tree of Life" of this game, which, as far as I'm aware, was updated in time with Wakfu episodes.
Even back then, Ankama knew that 1. Joris is very sus and 2. you cannot let him get close to you during a battle, or it's OVER.
It's all very cute.

There is something interesting I wanna say about this sprite, actually:
An alternate version of it exists, made as a concept for the Dofus MMO. I am assuming it was Juien Druant elaborating on the ways Joris might look in the game. The first two designs are: baby Joris (probably not used because he looks too young to be a 200 year old man...) and Welsh & Shedar 60yo Joris. They were combined to make the iconic Dofus MMO-era 200yo Joris design.
I'm quite sure that this sprite references the Les Gardiens one very heavily.
One More Gate: A Wakfu Legend
The first game in this list that actually has implications for real lore, and yet its plot is literally "it was all a dream that Oropo was having while inside the Eliacube"
For this reason, the events of this game are not entirely reliable — but are probably based in some way on the memories Oropo has.
The main contribution this game has to Crepinlore is a third Crepin, who might be an ancient ancestor of the brothers, whom Oropo met and remembered, some sort of cousin, or he might be based entirely on fiction, and inspired by Kerubim (though ehhh I severely doubt Oropo would care so much about him that he'd hallucinate a guy like him within Eliacube's fake world).
I really want to headcanon that the events of the game are based on something he really experienced, waaay before forming the brotherhood. But that's just my brain disaeses.
Here we can see the store itself.
Krosmaga
I saved the best for the last — Krosmaga.
youtube
A video of the casts of Dofus and Wakfu beating the shit out of each other
There are characters besides Atcham, Joris, and Kerubim in this game — Julith, Jahash, Lou... But I choose to concentrate on my favorite three ones. Or I will die fr.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/1f201273bb5e52637a9dfa266209aa97/38e913e62f0cd704-26/s540x810/801bb9a76251c8ee1aeb1758cb376ce8df73bc32.jpg)
If this Ecaflip gives the impression of constantly having a bad hair day, it's precisely because he doesn't have any! Brother of Kerubim Crépin, Atcham is fiercely jealous of the man he considers his worst enemy. And how could he not be, when not only does he occupy the prestigious position of Ecaflip's favorite son, but also displays his dense, silky fur without any modesty or sensitivity?
Here are his three forms:
I'm.,. unwell about the white one. I have to draw Atcham in a Bontarian getup one of these days.
They're really giving a fight to this Joris costume recolor from a Christmas event in one of the MMOs... (Now I want to see Kerubim in red too!)
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/2acdbbffe7bc44ac5dd64086f4079cfb/38e913e62f0cd704-da/s540x810/0951759d76d768cc71752bf05ce1ed267ed2c10b.jpg)
On topic of Joris,
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/8ae8115927b9660afd6880051f891364/38e913e62f0cd704-a1/s540x810/9a11f866a1349976d90e2d0d9a3c3f72f70f42a2.jpg)
Adopted son of Kerubim Crépin, Joris is a curious and mischievous little boy. His favorite pastime is listening to the childhood adventures of his beloved "Papycha". And when he's too busy serving customers in his antique store, he's off playing with his best friend Lilotte! An avid boufbowl player and fan of Khan Karkass, Joris also hopes to become a star of the horned ball. While his destiny may already be mapped out on the stadium pitch, his origins are much less clear… But the good thing about not knowing where you come from is that you can imagine anything! For the little boy, there's no doubt: his parents were great boufbowl players, and it doesn't matter if it's true or not!
Here are his alternative forms:
I LOVE THE WAY HIS ADULT SELF IS DRAWN IN THIS GAME... I'm insane.
And now, last but not least: Kerubim.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/cfa3b4893c46a212b58d3af98740c037/38e913e62f0cd704-64/s540x810/659cb71600cb1b9a9ed277554f4215d9947c9fde.jpg)
Judging by his adventures, Kerubim seems to have had more than 9 lives! From small-time opera rat, to Bontarian police officer, to lawyer: the least we can say is that during his youth, the man Joris calls his Papycha never stopped working! So much so that today, the owner of the antique store Aux Trésors de Kerubim takes advantage of his free time to purr quietly in his armchair, or to tell his adopted son about his past adventures. Past? Well, not quite! Because when the terrible witch Julith arrives to retrieve Jahash's Ivory Dofus, and seems intent on attacking Joris, the old tomcat doesn't hesitate to get in her way. With Kerubim, there's no age limit to being a hero!
Once again, it is confirmed that the store's name s literally "Aux Trésors de Kerubim". Sorry, I'm insane about the name of the show being the name of the store.
And his alternative forms:
He's beautiful.

true to my word here is my essay on why granny is Good Actually feat. @omenfailure
do not take this TOO seriously but i tried to be a little serious
i dont know where to start, but while granny has been seen as regarded as a "bad horror game" or generally cheap because it's 1) on mobile 2) low graphics 3) no real story — however in spite of this, granny has actually been one of the more impactful horror games, it's almost as impactful as lets say five nights at freddy — not quite, but sorta there. granny inspired a entire movie, "stay out of the house". it also was the cause of that popular piggy roblox game that has 13 billion vists and even has merch with books and plushies and even a collab with dark deception. oh and the yourube kids granny rainbow hello neighbor scary teacher brainrot videos it inspired but lets not dwell on that trauma now
while granny has no real story, (though DVloper's more recent games, the twin one if i recall correctly DO have a more written story just to add). you do have notes scattered around by some rando trying to survive granny, which is a present feature in many horror games (most popular example would be resident evil that does this). granny doesn't really need a story, because you can piece it together or make it up yourself. really though the game is more atmospheric then i see people admit, the entire gray and very "faded" like tone, along with the various toys on the outside and crib, along with it being, well — granny. it's kind of like a play on old nostalgic memories that you only vaguely remember with your grandparents. faded, blurred, grayscales into obscurity, and when you vist them again there's nothing left.
other horror games have done this as well, though i cant name one that does it in this very specific way. apart from that, you have granny herself that is also a part of the rotting/fading like symbolism — her teeth are rotting and she's blind, much like how old people and grandparents in general tend to have their vision fade and their health rot due to old age / sickness. you also have the fact that granny's daughter, slenderina is there when you throw the teddy bear into the crib (notice how the teddy bear has color but the crib doesn't?) and slenderina herself is also very distorted, while her mouth is left agape likely for horror design purposes, it also gives the impression she's despeate, she wants to leave. you also die when you stare into her, but notice how granny is blind?
the general thing is, even when you DO escape from granny, the house is still left there, granny is still there, slenderina is still there(? as a ghost presumably). it's still a way of that memory thing i mentioned earlier, you can stop thinking about your memories and escape the past, but it doesn't change your memories, it doesn't change the past. the way you cant even really see anything outside because of the dark also puts focus on granny's house specifically, forcing you to be there and be present even if you don't want to, because you can't see anything beyond until you get out.
despite granny's design giving off the impression she's ill, dying along with the house — she's strong, impossibly so, she basically runs at turbo speed and whacks you once and you bleed and pass out for a entire day. just seeing granny, you have to panic, you can't look at her, you have to hide; and sometimes even when you do she still catches up to you, she crawls like a spider under the bed to get you, which is a instakill/game over, also adding to the concept and my little theory of granny being a allegory for trauma or just memory in general, maybe even dementia — because avoiding it catches up to you and kills you instantly. this is also present in granny 2 and 3, but you have more then. the house is bigger, there's more people you have to avoid, to hide from, even if it's borderline impossible. oh and grandpa dabs in on of the endings i love you dvloper
there was more but i can't be bothered to type out more enjoy my very delusional take on a mobile gayme
