my sibling assigned every life series member a dnd class
grian: bard, college of lore definitely a talker, will create lore in any case.
mumbo: artificer subclass artillerist bc redstoner and building machinery, first to build a tnt cannon
tango: artificer bc redstoner ofc
etho: alsl redstoner, but washed up… but i guess still artillerist artificer
cleo: barbarian subclass berserker or ancestral guardian. i feel like they are a grudge holder of past life series' aka their "ancestors"
jimmy: cleric, grave domain "serve the idea of life and death, the balance must be maintained" well in my eyes, the balance is his curse of always first out lmao also, useless in non-magical combat.
pearl: barbarian subclass berserker (anger fueled) or totem warrior (wolves as "animal spirits" joining her) shes definitely the axe swinger kinda person. i mean double life pearl??? need i say more?
martyn: rogue subclass: inquisitive (literally like a detective) always listens in on conversations, spying on ppl even tho its useless mostly
skizz: bard but college of therapy (self explainatory) always gives free therapy and a pep talk
bdubs: ranger subclass beastmaster (has a horse) i see him with a bow or crossbow while walking thru da woods. also has limited magic
Joel: the real rogue. subclass assassin sneaky and chaotic and not afraid to cause damage. actually happy to do so. always quick to red life (evil) will use every opportunity to shoot an arrow at u when ur close to an edge
lizzie: sorcerer she's a magic user for sure. but like natural magic in her bones, in her blood.
bigb: rn hes a warlock, patron: the hole lmao definitely signed his soul away to the hole man
scott: paladin, oath of devotion NEVER betrays his allies. always sees his friendships through to the end. somehlw a tank? rarely takes huge chunks of dmg, even when ppl aim for a crit. shield guy.
impulse: wizard i feel like he'd be a magic user but not naturally, instead someone who studies it by the book (nerd)
gem: druid gives animal lover vibe combined with being a force of nature (pvp goddess)
scar: bard college of eloquence THE talker. not very good at fighting but hes using magic and words to screw u into a useless deal

I’ve decided to consolidate my brainrot
SO YOU’VE BEEN TADPOLED au
characters are chosen not so much for personality matches as for who would best pick their plot threads
Wei Wuxian is of course a necromancer wizard who needs to snack on magic artefacts because of a teeeeeny little mistake that wasn’t even his fault really!! except all the ways it was! I’m sure he won’t be tempted by either self immolation or the chance to grab the power to reunite with his family.
Jin Guangyao is a trickery cleric of Shar, who comes to learn that the Father Superior is in fact his real dad, holding his Selûnite priestess mother captive.
Jiang Cheng is of course a disgraced scion of Baldur’s Gate, who soul his soul to a devil to protect the city but can’t tell anyone about it, and definitely isn’t still desperate for his dad’s approval.
Lan Wangji is a devoted Githyanki fighter whose faith in his whole world is shaken when he discovers that the power behind Jin Guangyao’s mysterious artefact is none other than his own mother, imprisoned by his father. He decides to work together with his uncle to free her and overthrow his father. Incidentally, he was in Hell looking for…
Lan Xichen, kidnapped during a mission gone wrong and sold to the archdevil Zariel. Being in Avernus corrupted his powers so now he is a wild magic barbarian with an infernal engine for a heart. Also Zariel turned him into a tiefling idk.
ok here’s the ones I’ll get in trouble for
Xiao Xingchen is a vampire spawn who has spent 200 years being tormented by the vampire Xue Yang, who forces him to seduce and kill innocents. Maybe if he gained infernal power, he could silence this hunger and begin to atone for his wrongs…?
Nie Huaisang is a lore bard with some… memory issues. He comes to learn that he is Bhaalspawn, and used to be heir to the Cult of Bhaal until his older brother, in a fit of their hereditary murderous rage, decided he was an unfit heir and attacked and left him for dead.

When you have the realization that Leverage is essentially a D&D campaign set in the real world, there is no going back
So...
Nate: He'd obviously be a Mastermind rogue, but I think it'd be cool if he also had a few levels of paladin in there (because, y'know, Catholic boy and all). I did debate cleric for him, but really, Nate going from Oath of Devotion to Oathbreaker to Oath of Redemption throughout the story makes sense, in a way that being a cleric can't fully encapsulate. Also, he'd still probably be a human in D&D world.
Sophie: There's no other choice for our girl than a bard, and I think it'd be really cool if she's gone through a few colleges in her lifetime---she started out as a Whispers bard when she first met Nate, became a Glamour bard after she attempted to give up grifting and focus on her acting career, and after the first year or so working with the team, she settled into being a Lore bard ('cause they're all about exposing the truths of the corrupt). In the same vein, I don't think Sophie can be anything other than a changeling---why keep on burning a Disguise Self slot, when your body can just do that normally?
Eliot: Battlerager barbarian, Way of Shadow monk. And, yeah, he's a dwarf. He's short, and he has amazing hair.
Parker: Everything about her screams Arcane Trickster rogue---yeah, I know that there's an actual "thief" subclass, but considering that Parker frequently performs feats that low-key defy the laws of physics, it feels only fair to give her some magic. She also feels very tiefling-coded to me, so... yeah.
Hardison: As much as it should make sense to make the hacker-type character an artificer, his skills, to me, read way more School of Divination wizard, especially if we assume they're in a more high-fantasy setting. Hell, he could even have a couple levels of Arcana Domain cleric thrown in there, just to give him a little bit more buff. As for species, I think it'd be cool for Hardison to be an elf. I dunno, it just feels fitting.
Bonus:
Harry: I can think of no other choice for him than the most lawyer-coded class/subclass in the game, and that is the College of Eloquence bard. And, again, I think he's just human. Our Mr. Wilson is "just a guy," through and through.
Breanna: Now, as an engineer and creator of gadgets, she would be perfect as a Battlesmith artificer, no question about it. It'd be pretty cool for her to be a halfling, too---often underestimated, but insanely lucky.

shows been out for a week
spoiler wall down
YALL. THE BROTHERHOOD SHAME-PRIESTS OR WHAT EVER THE FUCK? OMG. THEY INVENTED A FUCKED UP LITTLE LANGUAGE TO CHANT IN. ITS SO FUNNY AND SCARY.
"high clergy of the commonwealth" is juust plausible-yet-esoteric enough to flood me with wonder for years to come.
that lore seems to come out of nowhere unless you recall that Arthur ordered the eradication of Maxson cults on the west coast. a stark, uncontextualized FO4 line which always seemed to allude to massive unknown developments. and the stuff with maxson being augmented is also very mysterious and open to incident
it seems extremely reasonable to intuit that these "Maxson cults," as he called them, would move to supplant his power after this. we can presume they succeeded and formed a theocratic government system built the infrastructure of arthur's occupation of boston
i love love LOOVE how theyre like two distinct castes... the scribes (general clerics? unclear) are a small group of wizard larpers who stay inside and develop military rituals and get real weird
the knights and paladins and shit roll around in the yard & beat the fuck out of each other like maniacs & throw bricks at basketball hoops for enrichment
i thought power armor looked goofy in the previews but that ended up being the point. they are big scary clowns who fuck up constantly. its good
on the curve of brotherhood content that exists i think the show kicks ass

I may get into the ask box or I may disappear for another 4 years.
but for now
The Seven Deadly Dungeons and Dragons
I don’t play DND but my girlfriend does and she’s sitting next to me so let’s go
-In this AU they’re all normal humans who just get together and play DND sometimes.
-Merlin is the DM.
-Merlin sits for hours writing all sorts of lore and intricate backstories only for them to commit their classic chaotic shenanigans and screw with all her plans. Luckily, she’s good at thinking on the fly.
-Meliodas plays as a halfling paladin from a noble background. His character’s goal is to get information and find his brother.
-Diane plays as a half elf barbarian (my gf thinks this is contradictory but in a fun way) (“she’s too pretty to be a half orc 🥺”)
-Her goal is to find her sisters murderer and bring them to justice.
-Ban would play a tiefling rogue. His goal is to revive his dead lover (Elaine is alive but she thinks DND is ‘nerd shit’ so she just stays at their home. sometimes she’ll come and watch them though)
-King would play a gnome cleric. He is from the fae realm however it recently got raided and he is seeking revenge from the perpetrators.
-Gowther would play as an automaton wizard. His goal is to find out what happened to his creator and gain a heart.
-Escanor would play as a half orc barbarian (when he rages it’s like his daytime form when he’s normal it’s his nightform)
-His goal is simply to find friends who don’t think he’s strange and he simply goes along with the gang because he feels accepted.
-Elizabeth would play as a aasimar cleric. Her character writes stories and is going on the adventure simply to find inspiration.
-They all gather together and play in Escanor’s basement. He makes a little food spread. They don’t appreciate him enough honestly.
-Escanor and King are chronic note takers. They have notebooks full of the lore.
-Diane also writes notes but she writes them aesthetically like
Liones is the country we live in
and highlights it in pastel. She never writes down useful information and spells everything wrong. King usually helps her with his notes.
-Ban forgets everything lore wise and all of his abilities. He never knows when he can use sneak attack and keeps getting in trouble for trying to pick pocket his party.
-“I just think it’d be funny if he wasn’t actually a good rogue because he’s so big”
-Gowther would keep getting the party in trouble by using dunamancy on random NPCs. Merlin is sick of his shit and having to rewrite the plot of her campaigns.
-Meliodas always has weirdly good roles. They have investigated whether his dice are rigged and they’re not he’s just crazy lucky.
-Elizabeth would put a lot of thought into her characters backstory and motives. She would have a very thought out lore.
-Hawk is Escanor’s cat that they all loved so much that they put him in the game as a pig that can eat ranged attacks if a 20 is rolled and also is immune to poison
-Gowther tries to romance every npc. He rolls nat 20 for every persuasion check and Merlin has to let him have the most rizz in game.
-The party all met in the Boar Hat and decided to help each other reach their goals.
-In this canon the Boar Hat can also move. Meliodas has a spell that can create the Boar Hat to be constructed infront of him.
-They all met in real life because Merlin works with Escanor and they got talking about it and she was like “Hold up let me bring my friend Gowther” and then Gowther invited Meliodas who then invited his girlfriend Elizabeth and best friend Ban and then Ban was like “Hold up we need this dude too” and invited King and King’s girlfriend was like “Omg i wanna join” yeah
-King would paint a lot of miniatures
-Elizabeth would be a dice fiend. She would have so many dice and a cute bag for them.
-Meliodas and Ban both use the same pair of black dice that have chipped paint. They just pull these crusty dice from their pockets. The numbers are barely legible anymore.
-Merlin makes her own dice out of resin and sells them on etsy.

I got an adorable idea!
What if the animatronics in security breach played D&D! Now I'm not talking about the characters inside a fantasy realm I'm thinking what if a person left a players hand book at the pizza Plex and the gang devoured that shit up!
Id like to think Freddy would be a support roll, more the type to help the party indirectly. He feels like the most inclined to spell casting. Id put him as the type to do Wizard, Cleric, Paladin, or even Druid! Id say hed likely stick to the races in the players hand book, probably a human main. He's very into playing a character, even if that character is the same sweet person each time.
Chica is your major roleplay player, she would be all about getting into the mind of her character and really selling it. She plays any race, and class, and often is the one to pick her class race combo last so she has something to go off of, as a challenge. When she does choose you know my girl is Bard all the way. She's also the only one to actually read the history of the races and really get into the D&d lore.
Roxy likes playing a modified monk, (in fact as a over all rule they play with a lot of table rules!) or a rogue, she usually doesnt pick any other class, as well as loving being an elf. She's a little less on the roleplay side (but can't help but bounce off of the others when needed) she's more of a combat centric player. She loves winning encounters, loving puzzles, anything. She's likely to be the one min maxing her character. Which has lead to some fun experiences when Chica asks about how she became a Cleric, Paladin, Druid multi class.
Monty is exclusively a fighter dragonborn. He loves being allowed to smash shit up and have no *real* repercussions. However he's not actually combat driven, he's a roleplay player similar to Chica, only he expresses he can make 101 characters with out needing to change the mechanics of said character. It's scary how calm Monty can be when he's in the role. (Said calmness started to carry over to work life too!) That doesn't stop a burst or two which thankfully only results in a pouty gator. Monty loves exploring the worlds, it's his favourite thing. To picture landscapes and worlds completely different from his own. And then be able to interact with those worlds.
Sun and Moon are the DMs! Sun is a story focused DM, he loves crafting a narrative, playing NPCs, and developing the world's of his story. He's the one usually in the spot light for a majority of the time. The rest of the time is Moon. Moon is a challenge focus dm. He loves crafting riddles, puzzles, combats, and difficult choices at the party. When ever it's moons turn to take over the table all the lights go out and dark red ambient lighting fills the room. Moons challenges are to be feared as Moon takes death in the game as a real and possible thing. While Sun tries to avoid it happening all together. Funnily enough Moon doesn't like improf, he has his encounters planned almost to the T, including alternative paths the party takes, INCLUDING DEATH OUTCOMES. He is meticulous. Sun on the other hand has a half ass idea of what the session will be about related to the over arching story, have a few bullet points of required information, a few bullet points of optional information and just goes from there. He has a party who eagerly love to make their own decisions and discuss where to go and what to do.
I like to imagine that while one is running the work for the day, the other is planning out their portion of the session, always able to communicate and keep track of details together. While Sun is playing Moon is taking notes, more for himself really.
They play once a week on Sundays, seeing as that's their only day off. They play 6 hour sessions usually and go on many tangents. But they enjoy playing so much, after all its the closest thing they get to freedom.
Edit: I FORGOT DJ!!! Of course he would be allowed to play!! And the little DJ dudes too idk what their called. DJ seems like the kind of player to sit back and watch everything happen, communication is a bit hard but he's still included. I think he would play a bard (very classic) just so he could have an excuse to play sound boards during the game. Speaking of which they definitely play games in the west arcade, with DJ helping set the ambience with music and sound effects. I like to think he secretly downloaded files like leaves russling to add to it. DJ likes to work on theme songs for each character. He simply enjoys being included even if it's limited.

Mystery Inc as a DnD Party
Tumblr media
I figured as long as we're still in the vicinity of spooky season, I'd build everyone's favorite gang of teenage mystery solvers as a collective unit. Pulling from their group dynamic to come up with a party roster that will give everyone in the party a designated role.
Tumblr media
FRED JONES
PALADIN || OATH OF THE CROWN
INVESTIGATOR BACKGROUND
Skills: Athletics, Insight, Investigation, Persuasion
Freddie is the dimwitted but lovable himbo leader of the team. He's also the muscle, except in moments of athletic skill, when he's outshined by Daphne. His backstory isn't always consistent, but he's usually a jock of some sort. He's not usually all that book smart, but he has a good heart, and inspires his team to success. Paladins who swear an Oath to the Crown hold law and justice above all else, and Fred usually enjoys catching the bad guys and seeing justice served.
Tumblr media
DAPHNE BLAKE
BARD || COLLEGE OF LORE
NOBLE BACKGROUND
Skills: Athletics, Acrobatics, Deception, Insight, Investigation, Persuasion, Sleight of Hand, Performance
As surprising a choice as this might seem, Bard is actually a very appropriate choice for Daphne. Modern Daphne is the most supportive and emotionally intelligent member of the group. From What’s New Scooby-Doo? to Be Cool, Scooby-Doo, Daphne has become the emotional powerhouse of the group. Sensing when her friends are off their game, and offering sage advice to her friends when they need it. She’s also become a very creative girl, skilled in singing, dancing, fashion, design, and more. She’s grown to be the group’s resident skill monkey, almost on par with Velma’s uncanny encyclopedic knowledge on all brainy subjects. If a lock needs picking or the gang needs to get out of a trap, you can count on Daphne to have a nail file, bobby pin, or something else on her person to save the day. She's typically also the face of the group when it's not Fred, meaning she's going to want high Dexterity and Charisma. I chose Lore because Daphne is a reporter in Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island and this is the only real career she's ever had. A lore bard is basically a more magical reporter, and singing the tale of her group's mysterious endeavors.
Tumblr media
VELMA DINKLEY
ARTIFICER || ARTILLERIST
SAGE BACKGROUND
Skills: Arcana, History, Investigation, Nature
Velma was the most debatable one for me, as she could be a wizard or an artificer. And I was really leaning toward Wizard, but I had to stay true to Velma's character. She's been a tinkerer and a gadgeteer for a long time now. Velma is absolutely fascinated by robotics. But while Velma in our world can handwave superstitious nonsense, in a world with gods, demons, and real ghosts, I could absolutely see Velma using her knowledge to become a powerful wizard. I even considered the Knowledge Domain Cleric because it's basically designed to be a magical detective, and if Velma was going to worship a deity, it'd be a god of knowledge and reading. Ultimately, I did choose Artificer as it was more in-line with her base character as a skeptic and a scientist, but she would work as a Wizard. Plus, as is, Daphne is the only full-caster in the party.
Tumblr media
NORVILLE "SHAGGY" ROGERS
RANGER || CONCLAVE OF THE BEAST MASTER
GUILD ARTISAN BACKGROUND || COOKS & BAKERS
Skills: Animal Handling, Investigation, Stealth, Survival
No surprises here, Shaggy and Scooby are a bonded pair, and the two were going to be joined to each other one way or another. Scooby is technically a Beast of the Land, and there's no Great Dane stat block, so call him a Mastiff if you need to. You can't really build Scooby by himself per se. There's no dog race unless you go Custom Lineage or something, and even then, I'd struggle to assign Scooby a class as he's mostly an animal sidekick. Make sure Shaggy picks up Cooks Untensils and proficiency with them so he can become the party's designated camp chef.
Tumblr media
Ultimately, I'm happy with how the team turned out. Fred's the tanky and bulky frontliner, Velma can use her robotics to help solve mysteries, Daphne is the face on top of having so many skills, and Shaggy works with Scooby. Inadvertently, they're also all classes with access to healing spells. So, while I suspect Daphne being the sole full caster will probably assume primary role of group healer, everyone is capable of healing each other up. Making this a great group of supportive friends taking care of each other.

Community DND
Jeff: Bard. I’m thinking college of lore what with him being a lawyer and becoming a teacher. Though you could argue charismatic rouge.
Annie: wizard, purely because she had the biggest brain. Not sure what subclass
Shirley: Cleric of life, I guess maybe a paladin. Either way, badass mama bear.
Pierce: thinks he’s a warlock because of the cult he joined and a really weird dream, but is actually just a npc. The others work their asses for to make sure he doesn’t die lol.
Chang: I guess rouge? What with faking changnesia and all
Abed: he’s the dms player character lol. But for real, I guess either artificer or rouge. Artificer because of his fourth wall breaking and random knowledge, and rouge for being a jack of all trades
Troy: Fighter for sure. Battle tactian?
Britta: I could see Druid or Wild Magic Sorcerer, with her activism and strong will with little control.
Dean: Druid because of his furry fetish lol. I actually have no idea. Druid it is.

Disabled characters in fantasy and why the entire bullshit surrounding the ableistic arguments about disabilities in fantasy. Where people think that mobility devices in gaming could 'easily' be 'fixed' with magic and why it is incredibly frustrating.
OR What Raistlin Majere means to me as a disabled person. a Rant.
Why Raistlin Majere (And other disabled characters are important in fantasy). There's been a lot of discussion of accessibility devices being used in games. Talking about how it's 'lazy because magic can fix everything'. We would not have any of Dragonlance if it wasn't for Raistlin Majere. He is a canonically disabled mage, who was kinda (was) a jerk. He was very nuanced and important. Basic mage needs and 'spellslots' are an important part of fantasy. Much like our human bodies that require rest and nourishment, fantasy doesn't eliminate that. Raistlin Majere went to become a real mage and had to go through excruitating trials to prove he was capable of wearing his mage robes. During all of that he did some BAD things, and he offered his body to a even worse mage to help him. The Mage drained him regulary. Raistlin already was born disabled. His own self loathing against his able bodied brother was interesting, and while I could write tons about that too, that isn't what this is about entirely because there's more than that. He often felt left out, tired and rather useless and magic was what gave him 'strength'. Due to multiple things that happened to him he wanted to challenge the gods themselves and become the most powerful mage. (There's a lot more to this but for simplifying we are going with this). This is also not me condoning using disability as a 'punishment', but Raistlin already was disabled and was further pained when doing his mage trial. I've seen arguments about how gods/temples would help anyone disabled and therefore disabilities wouldn't work. Someone took a tiny bit of pity (ugh) on him and offered him something to help ease his pain, let's just call it medication for simplicity sake again. That was the most charity, even the most powerful clerics couldn't heal him or help him, whether in childhood or adulthood. Eventually he almost completely healed himself but was still very much dealing with various forms of pain, whether emotional etc. He is known as the most powerful wizard on krynn.
If we take all of that away we take away an incredibly interesting character whose disabilities helped elevate the games in which he was played in. When you work together you can accomplish so much more. When his friends were actual friends they accomplished so much together they seriously did. Yet due to his abbrasive personality he was rarely praised for the war of the lance until much later. Even his title of "hero of the lance" always seemed to come with talks about him being rather shitty until later. Throughout Dragonlance as a series (beyond the core novels) we have a lot of disabled characters and throughout the years as humans become more aware of how to write disabled characters differently we have gotten a lot more out of them and a lot more of them each providing such interesting parts to these beloved books. At an even simpler level we have gollum/smeagol, another canonical disabled charater who was kinda dick too. However without him, Frodo may not have been able to actually destroy the ring at all, and if we go even deeper into Tolkien's lore we can discover more disabled characters whether titled as such or not that seemed to be a reflection of what he experience during the war and coming back. Disabilities exist in fantasy and in the real world, and some of us chose to create characters with disabilites, and I'd really much like to believe that we can get along because the world is already inaccessible enough. Let your players use various modes of accessability if needed/wanted. Erasing these beautiful and nuanced characters would erase so much of what makes fantasy so incredible and accepting. It's always been such a mostly accepting genre, it's a way to fantasize and sometimes it's nice even in a regular day to fantasize what a beautifully crafted accessability device might look like. So rather than argue online for hours for "why disability makes no sense in fantasy" could we change it to " I am capable of creativity and inclusion". It's your fantasy game, so you get to be beautifully creative.
However, if you REALLY would take away disabilities in game because it's your fantasy game then say bye to
Raistlin Majere
Frodo -Gollum
Toph
John Silver
Captain Hook
Your random peg legged pirate
Your eye patch
Geordi La Forge
Vader
Luke
Furiosa
Matt Murdock
Professor X
Deadpool
Kanan Jarrus
Steven Strange
Bucky Barnes
War Machine
Elijah Price (And so so many more this is the lazy amount because I am SO FUCKING FED UP OF PEOPLE NOT BEING INCLUSIVE IN DND SPACES AND ONLINE) Brought to you by an angry disabled person. (I love you take good care of yourselves, also this is nuanced and not entirely encompassing all my thoughts nor does it have to be your view as a disabled person. I love you be good to yourself today please.)

Been playing BG3 and it's got me thinking about the Batfam, and their classes. So here we go:
Bruce: Fighter, battlemaster with proficiency in investigation and perception.
Dick: Rogue, Thief or Arcane Trickster. Very much an elusive shadow.
Jason: an oath of vengeance Paladin. You could argue Barbarian, but let's be real here.
Tim: college of lore bard. This kid has too many proficiencies, too much luck and there's a reason he gains enemies like a DM gets aneurysms.
Damian: initially he's a gnoll. After character development he's like his dad.
Barbara: divination wizard or lore bard. She knows all. She knows what you will do. And she can cite the references.
Cass: Way of Mercy Monk. And unfortunately, she has rolled very high. You're doomed.
Steph: multiclass fighter and bard. She can throw a punch and work out what makes you cry.
Duke: Light Cleric. And he did not get a lecture on pacifism.
Harper Row: Artificer. Except where she could have developed other tech, it's mostly stuff that sparks.
Cullen Row: Arcane Trickster. All his skills are based on evasion. He doesn't hit hard but you won't hit him.
Alfred: Cleric of Helm. He's a stalwart guardian and protects the home. He doesn't venture beyond that but woe betide anyone who crosses his threshold in threat.
Kate: Fighter, duelist. Kate is aggressive but it's honed in a way Bruce isn't. Callous and detached but graceful.
Extra:
Jim Gordon: Warlock, his Patron is Gotham. He's kept fuelled by the city. His pact is that he can solve all cases but every case he solves spawns more.
Bernard: Lore Bard. A perfect mirror to Tim. Whereas Tim specialised into investigation, perception and sleight of hand, Bernard went for Arcana, Nature and Insight. He may have some out there ideas but don't think that means he isn't switched on.

Some more of my recent Bald Gay 3 stuff. Ever since I learned how to add mods to this game, I've...shown the exact same behavior my sims 4 mods folder knows very well. And now I'm stuck in character creation making a million tavs. So anyway, I bg3fied Callias for a durge run. I wasn't sure what class to pick for him, but eventually I settled for war cleric. Oh and he's a drow. His dream visitor is based on his sims sister Magdalene. And yes, he'll be romancing Astarion and they'll make each other worse. Naturally.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tyler got tiefling'd for real! They're so precious. I'm guessing I'll get around doing their run in August if my brainrot is still going strong by then. Meet Tyghlar (still pronounced the same way but we're ✨quirky✨ in a fantasy setting), mephistopheles tiefling, bard. Yes, bg3!tyler has boobs. He calls them tiny goats. Honestly? Tyler deserves real boobs in at least one universe, so good for them. Gonna be romancing Shadowheart with them (them as in Tyghlar, not the boobs..but I mean, they're nice boobs, maybe Shart will like them...) Dream visitor based on Sharon. I actually realized the other day that she and Shart have some things in common so naturally a bg3!tyler has to romance Shart, duh, and also there's this whole thing with wolves and sims!Sharon is a werewolf...also, I'm planning to do a run with bg3!sharon too, eventually. I'm not sure if she'll look exactly this way, probably not, my mods folder will be twice as big by then, but just like the dream visitor, she'll be a drow for sure. I wanna make her a paladin.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Up next, my very self-indulgent tavself run. Made myself a wizard and maybe dipped into sorcerer as well? I think I may have. I might be going silly with mods here and I'm definitely making a very very very self-indulgent karlachbloodnikaweave sandwich, if you know what I mean. I wanna romance them all okay, I'm just a girl. A simple girl.
Nah, update: This save no longer exists 😂 I restarted it, but I'm not sure if I'm gonna play it. It's just not that fun to play as *myself*, I prefer to project onto OCs, if that makes sense.
Tumblr media
I'm also planning a Zeph honour run but I can't for the life of me decide what Zeph should look like - I know I want them to be different from what they were like in my first run, but how much different? 😂 Well, this is what they're like now. What do you think?
I also really struggle developing some lore for them, they have nothing going on for them and nothing feels right, so you might think, dude just drop them...but I can't, okay 😭
So. Another update. I've tried the Zeph honour run. It did not end well. Game over right off the nautiloid. I know better now, but I don't really wanna play it now. I'm not sure if they're suitable to be my first ever honour run, to be fair. I started a tactician run with them instead, so they can die all they want and I can always reload. As for honour, I'll probably first make an OC that's really built with survival in mind. Overpowered tank or something. Which Zeph definitely isn't 😅

Last but not least, this weekend I felt like creating Sunset...well, Solana in this game, or simply nicknamed Sunny. That's all, I just wanted to create her. I'm not sure if I'll play her much, it's not really a priority right now. But I wanted you to see her too.

Magister is a tough gig
Still going through this old DND 2E (or 3E) supplement, and I'm surprised just how much lore Ed is able to fit into this book via the vehicle of the Magister role. It doesn't really relate much to Gale, but as I read this book it's through that filter, and I have found a few interesting things.
The main thing that I didn't realize was how different Gale's life seems to be in relation to the wizards and sorcerers throughout Faerun over the ages -- in a nutshell, they mostly killed each other. The life Gale describes is one of scholarly accomplishment and civilized advancement among likeminded peers -- he attends a school dedicated to teaching novices to advance with supervision of their more advanced masters, he mentions colleagues that he has discussions and disagreements with, hell, the game even implies he has friendly relations with incredibly powerful wizards (that are evil/insane, even!) like Halaster Blackcloak of the Undermountain. It could be because he grew up and lives in Waterdeep, perhaps the most civilized locale in all of the Sword Coast, that shapes his life more than anything, but I have to imagine that since the early days of Faerun it's become safer and more civilized to live as a mage -- it's not the wild west anymore, so to speak.
There's an entire section dedicated to all previously known Magisters, and it's crazy how many of them were just power-hungry muderhobos. Mystra and Azuth favor and prefer those who were good natured and helped others, even doing them favors beyond the usual Magister, but it didn't stop them from choosing some real nasty pieces of work (or preventing the really nasty ones from obtaining the title of Magister after killing the last one). The average lifespan of a Magister in office is bleak -- no more than 4 years, and this is averaged out among some who were Magister for 60 years and some that were Magister for a day before someone killed them, on purpose or accidentally.
It just used to be incredibly common for mages (meaning any magic user) to just hunt down and kill any rival mage to steal their magic tools and spells, creating an environment where if you were studying magic you had to preemptively prepare for someone to come along and kill you, if you got any serious level of accomplishment. I'm not sure if that's slowed down now that the realm is in 1495 DR, but for sure in 164 DR? Mages be murdering each other, all the time, with no legal consequences because even if you're a king or a warlord or whatever, you're not going to get involved in a wizard fight. Mages largely lived in their own strata of society, by their own rules, and this made it incredibly likely that they were all inclined to kill each other in order to gain more power.
So enter the idea of a Magister, a super-charged spell user with game-breaking power if they were clever enough to utilize it, tasked with spreading magic and teaching it, being judged at their end on how well they did so. The weird thing is how hands off Mystra was -- she'd answer prayers for guidance if asked, but most of these weirdos were on their own, unsupervised, getting up to some wild shit. Some did nothing but try to murder their rivals; some did nothing but spread out spell scrolls and assist struggling students; some created new types of magic that still exist today. There was one guy who just liked to blow up castles. He invented spells just to target manmade stone structures to hurl them up into the sky like bizarre stone spewing fountain -- he didn't like killing anyone, he just tracked down old abandoned castles and pulverized them. Constantly.
Supposedly the office was vacant after the Spellplauge, and since only clerics of Mystra and Azuth are told the sigil of the spellcaster chosen for office at the moment of choosing, it's more than likely the Magister is out there walking around, subtly changing the way magic is found or used in the world, and we have no idea who it is.
In regards to Gale, this office seems tailor made for him at this point -- he loves sharing magic, discussing it, exploring it, understanding it. He wouldn't hate the power that came attached to it either. I'm 100% certain that if he hadn't gone after the orb, if he'd stayed in a favored position by Mystra, he would have been Magister in his lifetime.
And poor Tara would curse Mystra all the more, granting her proud little peacock more power than he knew how to manage, fretting constantly about him being murdered by some power-hungry maniac.

The last five characters you've played group up for an adventure. How balanced is the party?
Alight so I'm gonna cheat a little for this party and make it six characters (Because I've only ever actually played six characters *Cries in forever dm*), so the party would actually be pretty balanced.
Luminelle Spellbrook; Female Woodelf Glamour Bard/ Sheperd Druid:
Hailing from a forest kingdom, Luminelle's days were akin to a Disney Princess, surrounded by the melodies of her animal companions. Her harmonious life took an adventurous turn when wanderlust beckoned her beyond the familiar trees. Yet, as she ventured into the outside world, the vibrant charm of her childlike wonder faded in the face of civilized people's trivialities. The weight of self-absorbed first world problems chipped away at her enthusiasm, and their ulterior motives and selfish intentions left her disillusioned. Despite her preference for for her forest home, Luminelle discovered that the world harbored deeper, tangible threats. This realization drew her into a reluctant role as a mediator between the genuine issues of the world and her serene forest haven.
Miles Cypress; Male Changeling Trickery Cleric:
An enigmatic being of many stories and identities, Father Cypress roams between towns, perpetually drawn to the allure of mischief and enigma. Living a double life, Miles Cypress lives as a clever and pious man during the daylight hours, only to transition into the captivating tiefling minstrel, Hanson Montoya, under the cloak of night. He assumes the visage of his departed love, allowing his former accomplice to fulfill the musical dreams he told him often, while simultaneously pursuing the path of redemption for the transgressions of their shared past.
Pez; Male Grung Alchemist Artificer/ Wild Magic Barbarian:
This little frog man is the proud founder and proprietor of "The Pez Dispensary" for all your pharmaceutical and recreational needs! Here, your ailments will be cured, and you weekends made unforgettable. With his cart full elixirs, potions, and herbs, Pez takes his shop on the road, selling anything and everything that may peak your interest. The only thing shorter than his prices is his temper so you better stop asking so many goddamn questions! What are you a cop? You know if someone asks you if you're a cop, you legally have to tell them.
Xen Haidao; Female Yuan-ti Pureblood Swashbuckler Rogue:
Xen Haidao, a beguiling young actress, blurs the lines between acting and reality. As a method actor, she took intense preparation for an upcoming pirate role, she now lives the daring life she portrayed, wanted for piracy. With charisma and wit, she navigates treacherous seas, evading authorities while embracing the thrill of her piratical existence. Amid danger and fame, Xen treads a precarious path, juggling illusion and reality to maintain her legend as both actress and pirate.
Donathael "Dorko" Darko; Male Highelf Lore Wizard:
Meet Donathael "Dorko" Darko, an enigmatic high elf scholar known more for his affinity for tomes than for adventures. Reclusive and content within his dorm's walls, Dorko's world revolves around the pages of arcane knowledge. But fate intervenes, and the academy thrusts him into the world of adventure, deeming him in desperate need of real-world experience. Dorko's demeanor is far from heroic; he's a scrawny figure lost within robes, a quintessential nerd. Quests and gallant feats? Not his cup of tea. Yet, his vulnerability to peer pressure from his party will have him literally dragged into adventures he'd rather avoid, punctuated by his signature pitiful whine.
Bulwark; Non-Binary Warforged Battlemaster Fighter:
Bulwark, a formidable Warforged, stands as an imposing symbol of unwavering dedication. This automaton soldier, an embodiment of strength and precision, follows orders with absolute devotion. Once tasked with guarding a solitary city bridge, their loyalty was so steadfast that the bridge alone remained standing after a cataclysmic siege reduced the city to ruins. After the death of their Captain, they became a sentinel without a command, who now walks the path of a wandering warrior. Without hesitation, they undertake every quest that comes their way, driven by an unshakable belief that each task is a new command and an extension of their original programming: protect at all cost.

9 for the whole crew <3
9: If they were to play d&d, what would they play as? If you don't know d&d, feel free to pick another ttrpg or rpg!
I am not sure whether to interpret this question as "what class is the best analogue to their own techniques and abilities" or "how would they play a ttrpg" so I will answer both questions. because no-one can stop me
ARABELLA: eloquence bard, naturally. she can even almost play the pipe. after becoming a nightingale she would also pick up a few levels in warlock. if SHE were playing d&d she would probably play as a wild magic sorcerer because she would love the magic surge mechanic, and I think she would get really into roleplaying. frankly she elevates the table. best person to meet at your local library's bimonthly d&d session (worst person to meet anywhere else)
PAX: a ranger of some description, with an emphasis on stealth, and proficiency in intimidation despite every other charisma skill being terrible. he would play an arcane trickster and probably be a bit of an edgelord about it, but eventually he would get emotionally invested in the character and campaign against his will
TORR: assassin rogue. rather uncreative answer, I know. weirdly I can see them playing as a cleric; he's not religious at all but he'd like the vibes and a support-focused build. I don't think rpgs are their thing but they would very much enjoy the social element and the bits (dark brotherhood game night!!!)
CAELESTIS: probably a wizard (also uncreative). ze'd probably also choose to play as some kind of spellcaster - probably a warlock, because ze'd like the built-in story there. ze would read lore handbooks back to front and memorise all the mechanics; ze wouldn't necessarily be very good at the game, and zir roleplaying would likely be very stiff, but ze'd be fun to play with regardless.
EFRI: let's be realistic here... as much as I love her my girl is working with commoner stats. not every ten year old can be a prodigy, and dnd classes are very combat focused. give her a few years to develop actual skills beyond Hit It With Stick (reskinned quarterstaff, -2 to attack rolls and damage) though and I can see her going any number of directions... swashbuckler rogue, maybe, or a paladin (she definitely has the conviction for it). in an in-universe game she would play as an artificer and have a great time making up new inventions (the dm always nixes them) (she'd probably start dming herself after a little while, honestly. and she'd be surprisingly good at it for a kid, though her narrative coherence could use work)
DRAGONBORN: hm. see what the dovahkiin has going on is some kind of mechanically unbalanced nightmare that can't really be mimicked in most rpgs... closest match I can think of is divine soul sorcerer and that's really only in terms of lore, not abilities. she wouldn't really get the point of playing a ttrpg but she would go along with it as long as it was made accessible enough for her to participate (a less visually cluttered character sheet, help with keeping track of stats, unnecessary mechanics not used, etc). she would play a fighter and her main combat strategy would be Hit It A Lot (just like real life!)
