I've been tracking my calories since the new year and it's been very eye opening. I'm a little overweight and have been for a lot of my life so this is overdue. The good news is that it has been going very well. My issue with weight was that I 1) binge eat snacks 2) eat portions that are too large.

Thankfully I already cook regularly and typically eat healthy foods, just too much of them. On an average day when I don't have snack foods around it is simple to stay under the target calorie goal and sometimes I'm even like wait I need to eat more. But when there are snacks involved... they end up becoming a meals worth of calories and that throws everything off. But I'm getting better at it and any snacks I buy now are lasting a lot longer. I don't want to stop eating them, just build good habits about enjoying smaller portions of them.

I probably should have weighed myself before hand to keep track of progress but I didn't lol. There has definitely been a decrease in how hungry I feel and I get full with smaller portions. Pretty happy about that because it means that I'm adjusting to correct amounts of food instead of just shoveling more down my maw. Also vegetables have literally no caloric density. I think I could eat infinite vegetables and not even get close to my daily goals.

but men at 57 will write books about how 17 year old girls are soooo sexy. they will invent worlds where women have to be naked for "armor reasons." they will write songs that treat women as objects. people rush to defend them. meanwhile a woman at 35 will be like "heartbreak is hard, actually" or "i feel betrayed by a friend" or "i am struggling with something emotionally." immediately people will say stuff like this woman is 35 by the way. by the way this woman is SO OLD to be experiencing this. BY THE WAY.

im 31, almost 32. the other day a poet was blasted online because at her "big age", she had written a poem about feeling unloved. top comment was "this woman is 29 by the way." this woman is too old to still be useful, by the way. she has to behave better . maybe if she was a good wife and mother she could stop existing loudly, and the story could continue on without her. this woman has served her purpose, by the way. she's so cringe, by the way. at 29 - so old! - she still hasn't figured out that her existence should be one of shame.
